(00:02):
Soulsby. Oh okay, let's dothis. Sean Salisbury, The USC Truths,
longtime friend, Shawn Salisbury, BrianLima, go Lobos. This is
the Sean Salisbury Show. Sean tripLey, good morning, call the mayor,
(00:25):
cancel the parade? Good morning. You're ready to cancel it? After
the shutout, dude, after youlose the a's. Let me tell you
something, dude, how do youlose the a's? I don't know.
You get shut out by we geteight hit by him. Hey, Mason
Miller is really good. Let metell you something right now. Yeah,
you keep canceling and starting and cancelingf F fourteen to sixty three and fullsher
(00:47):
Katie. Uh, we don't havetime to be up with yo, yowan
stay the basketball cover you yoo upand down and almost get beat again.
Well, who almost got him?Sprekanzy Deutsch? The Germans? Sprekansy who
Deutsch? Oh okay, Germans?Yes, the Germans all has caught him.
Well you know who likes Do youknow who Germans loved? Don't you?
I was just gonna say, isthe David? They love them?
(01:08):
So you're canceling the parade? MWell, what are we supposed to do
at FM fourteen sixty three, we'vealready got stuff trying to widen the streets.
I mean, since I've lived therefor about three years, they've been
construction up. I mean we're planningthe Prey and you're ready to cancel I
am. Yeah. You feel goodabout it about canceling the Prey? Yeah?
(01:30):
Yeah, because he got shut outby the A's, the low Li's.
Hey, Steve Sparks said it yesterdayright here on the show. If
you miss that, it's up onour block. It's sports seven hinightty dot
com. Putting up runs. Yeah, they were able to put up runs.
And when the Astros leave so manymen on base, especially in scoring
position. I mean you had secondand third and uh can't score? Guy?
(01:53):
Yeah, grounded to like eighteen thousanddouble plays. Maybe it was like,
might that might be hyperbolic? Eightthousand of them? Uh huh could
be, But I'm with you, dog, I mean you, uh it
is uh frustrating. Seattle lost aswell. Yeah, they guess what they
did lost? Yeah, they hada players meeting. Yeah, of course,
(02:16):
because that always works? Is thatthat always? Those players? Those
players? Uh? Is uh?Those those players only meetings are phenomenal.
They mean they take a whole newlevel meaning the uh, the Mariners,
their their offense is not good.Yeah, there was a team meeting following
(02:38):
the loss. Scott Servis after thegame did not mince words with the media,
called the ending brutal and said theygifted that win. Said the team
needs to consistently be on the beon the attack and go out and take
it. And they're not seeing that. Nope, sure not for the Seattle
Mariners. So what the division leadsstays tied? Yep, sure it does.
(03:02):
Four to nothing was the final lastnight team with runners in scoring position
for the Astros one and six,one for six left on base eight.
Did you buy a chance? Seea ledmis Diaz was claimed by the Astros
had a couple of at bats inTriple A and now he started last night.
I actually did, but I didn'treally pay much attention to he was
(03:23):
oake. I didn't read the story. So, I mean I know that
now they've got him back. Imean he's has has struggled with the bat
since he left here. Correct,he's batting a point zero nine to four.
Yeah, so the season. Butlisten, maybe he gets revitalized back
here as an astro. The Astrosalready have a first baseman. Well,
(03:46):
John Singleton's batting two thirty five?Who singing thank you good night? Yep?
No, that gets me going tothe you go singing noyes? Yeah,
I don't. I don't know ifa led miss is your answer,
probably not to I mean, alledmismight not be the answer to your to
your first basement question, yeah,or to your world series hopes, but
(04:09):
maybe add some depth. But it'snot exactly like he's been what's what's the
word sizzling? Right? Which one'ssinging or ds or both? Well both
but aledmis for the most part, and you called him singing. Okay,
mm hm, So I you knowlast night on the road like this is
what happens, you get beat bythe Oakland seems to do this every year
(04:30):
at some point in time to goodteams, right, specifically exactly so it
does not last night did not surpriseme. But what you don't want to
do is going there and lose aseries to that team. Correct, You
do not want to do that. You cannot. They can pitch, they
got bullpen, They got some guysin the back end of their bullpen's pretty
(04:51):
good, right, Yeah, youcan throw like one hundred and nine miles
an hour. One hundred and twowas his miles power. That is circle
change pretty much. Yeah, reallygood it is. So they're uh,
that's a I don't want to saytough one as fall because not like it
was two to nothing or two toone in a walk off home run.
It was four nothing. They quieteddown bats and they got enough clutch hits
(05:14):
and the Astros did not. Andyou're gonna have those, but those are
the type you don't want to again. I guess they're no longer a birdie
because making birdies on a par fiveshould be fairly easy. Probably a little
different. Why because Oakland can scoreruns. Here here's the odd thing about
it. They can score runs, and they're back in the bullpen's nasty and
they their bout what forty wins rightaround there you go, so and always
(05:41):
playing with a small payroll, needlessto say. But they back at it
today three game series, got achance to get back at it and Spencer
Araghetty wash lah right, yeah, walk some struck out a couple earned runs
was not uh was not? Iguess what we what are the kids saying
mid is pretty He was mid.Yeah, that's the perfect way to describe
(06:02):
it. However, he did eatsome innings, kind of save the bullpen
arms six innings, seven hits, four and runs, one walk, three
k's ninety four pitches. Is itamazing? How if you eat innings,
it get beat. We call ithands to win. Yeah that's a dub.
Yeah, man, so take himanyway, you can get him a
guess. But like I said,I like him. I like his grind,
(06:23):
I like his toughness. But youdon't score runs, it's a really
hard thing to do. Along withwhat you say, the team who scores
more runs than the other team usuallywins. Well, it's one hundred percent
of the time, right, Andin this case, if you don't score
runs, if you don't score arun one percent of the time, you
get beat. You're not gonna win. Right. Yeah, that is also
(06:43):
full proof. Yes it is.That is one hundred percent of full proof.
And what else is full proof anda little bit odd just a quick
switch. Just I'm gonna add toyour headline. Okay, do you know
that Adam Schefter is said, bythe end of this week, there is
a really good chance that Jordan Lovewill be the highest pay football player in
the history of the NFL. Yeah, I have that in my notes,
and I want you to think you'dsee that for a second. The guy
started one season and I have theaudio saved for us later on the show.
(07:06):
He's productive, there's no doubt. But you're doing this on potential in
need. We know he's going tobe We think he's going to be a
hell of a player. But goodgracious, think about that. If he
is going to be the highest paidplayer in the world, what's Mahomes command
right now? Ninety or not?Joe Burrow, I just it's baffling to
me. I mean, it's greatbecause I think Jordan loves the hell of
(07:27):
a player. Look what he's hadto do to be patient behind Rogers and
get his chance. He got achance last year, played really good football.
But he's not practicing. He's beenout in sweats and going through some
meetings and on the field, butnot practicing. And he will not return
to practice supposedly until his contract's done. He's going to make like sixty million
a year. Trevor Lawrence is likefifty five. I want to think about
(07:47):
that. The guy has started onefull season. It's good. I'll tell
you what. It is good tobe a quarterback in pro football. Yeah,
so, but I digress good forhim, Like I said, not
as well. I think that's awesomefor him. But I mean it's amazing.
All you got to do is showhim a flash like Stroud did last
year. He has another flash thisyear. They're gonna be talking seventy seventy
(08:09):
five million bucks. Dude, seventymillion dollars. What's Daniel Jones making?
I mean that dude showed out aflash than Nelly Korda. Is he making
more or less than Nelly Quarda?Nelly quarter is really good. You think
she's pretty good ball striker? Yeah, solid ball striker. I mean he
signed a four year, one hundredand sixty million dollar extension at one point,
Daniel Jones, Yeah, that wasDanny, Danny Dimes and he had
(08:33):
he didn't even play. He playedwhat four games last year? Forty million
year for Danny. I don't thinkyou put enough respect on uh, Danny.
You don't think anybody. I don'tthink anybody should right now, do
you? Is Jordan Love deserve tobe paid hired than anybody at profile?
(08:54):
No? So that's my no.I think he's gonna show me another season,
agreed. But even if you showme another season, you're still not
the best quarterback in the league. You don't have to be the best quarterback
in league. You have to havethe best timing and put up your potential.
That's the biggest difference. Unreal.Huh, God's crazy, man,
I do have that all you saved. I saw that late last night after
(09:16):
I sent him over our prep sheetand things like that. So we'll discuss
that. Because the Texans are backin action, Joe Mixon hasn't been around
as Demico Ryan's concerned. We'll talkfootball at eight o'clock this morning. There's
also some trade rumors that are startingto heat up a little bit more and
more about these Houston Astros. Uh, they fell last night for to nothing.
How many fans do you think we'reat the coliseum second, so I'm
(09:39):
going to say ninety four hundred damntake the forty five hundred oh half.
Okay, so you could actually heara pin drop in the ballpark four and
seventeen. Hey, but they feellike they're getting hosed because the team's leaving
right hmmm. You know, howgood that Oakland fan base can be.
(10:03):
Yeah, when they're good, yeah, I do. Or when they're staging
like protests against the ownership. Yeah, I know how good they I mean
when the Raiders were good at OaklandAlameda County Coliseum and back when the Oakland
A's were dominating. Yeah, sellingit out, winning, He'll do a
lot of things to get fans inthe building two hours and seven minute game
(10:24):
time. Would you pay twelve bucksfor a beer to go watch that?
No, even though I'll tell youthere's some individuals on there you like watching,
though, Yeah, But or yougo to watch the opposing team,
Yeah, I would just go towatch Mason Miller. I wonder what Billy
would do, Billy being I wonderif they will ever like when they moved
to Vegas, give Billy. Iwonder what he did. They said,
(10:45):
you dude, unlimited resources. We'vechanged now we're in Vegas. You go
spend whatever you want to spend. How is he even adjust? How is
he still employed? Because he operatesin within the boundaries they want and he's
really he's a smart guy. Oh, I know, baseball time, But
well, how can you not employwho else can operate under those circumstances,
(11:07):
he's just used. You know whatI'm saying, there's a comfort level,
and he's been loyal to them becausein truth, Billy could still even go
be a GM somewhere else like Bostonwill be offered him the money, make
him the highest pay GM at thetime. I just wonder if they're ever
going to give him a run, like a four or five year run where
they say, dude, we're inVegastan, you go let it rip.
We're going to give you more moneythan we you know somebody in they Yeah,
(11:30):
I wonder what it be like,I really do. I wonder how
he'd I wonder where his comfort levelwould be an oh, I got a
chance to spend it, because hewould have had that chance in Boston.
They would have been they spent alot of money. So I just wonder
where his comfort level is, ifhe's always going to be if he's always
going to drive the used vehicle. And I don't mean that, just give
(11:50):
my my point, right, youknow what I'm saying, the used vehicle,
not the classic used vehicle, theused vehicle, or if they're ever
going to say, dude, yougot Ferrari money, Hey go do it
here you go. Yeah. Interesting, But they got in the way of
the Astros last night, that's forsure. Yeah, they sure did.
The offense did not help out Spencerraghettyat all. They struggled to score runs.
(12:15):
Let's look a little deeper into thatoffense as they fall forward to nothing.
Got a lot to dig into thismorning. Like I said, trade
rumors starting to fly around. JohnHayman talking out talking about more potential targets
for these Houston Astros. Could theybe all in? We've also got Texans
talk, maybe a little bit ofUS Olympic talk. Got a lot to
go through here on the Sean SalisburyShow. But let's talk about that offense
(12:37):
for the Houston Astros last night inthat loss. Let's also talk to you
about Brotherly Love Electric and the allAmerican made Briggs and Strattenholme generator. Hurricane
Berrel came through. People were withoutpower for seven, eight, nine,
ten days after that storm left thecity. Do not get left in the
dark the next time a big timestorm rolls through. It's supposed to be
(12:58):
more bad weather today. I knowup in my side of town. Yesterday
there were thunderstorms from basically five pmall the way until I went to bed,
and even walk up around eleven pmand cauld still hear it raining outside.
There's more storms on the way thisweek. You do not want to
get left in the dark if thepower goes out, and you can get
that by calling this number. Threefour six seven seven seven three three seven
(13:20):
zero. Three four six seven sevenseven three three seven zero. That's the
number to call to get yourself afree quote for American made Briggs and Stratton
home generator for Brotherly Love Electric brotherlyLooveelectric dot com. They are a diamond
dealer for the Briggs and Stratton homegenerator, offering the largest air cooled unit
on the market, including ten yearwarranty models. Their warehouse is fully stocked,
(13:41):
so no need to worry about longlead times. They have the smallest
lead times in this city, theshortest lead times, i should say right
now in the city. They havebeen servicing the greater Houston area for over
ten years. It's Brotherly Love Electricin there, American made Briggs and Stratton
home Generator three four six seven sevenseven three three seven zero. Prep now
(14:01):
for the next storm with Brotherly LoveElectric. It's a connection you can count
on Barrel's his way to the basket. I'm the window in hey is Jay
Shawn Tate back to the Shawan SalisburyShow on Sports Talk seven ninety flag Ship
Station of your Rockets. They losefour to nothing, runners at the scoring
(14:24):
position won for six left on baseeight. That just that's you and they're
not gonna win. However, atleast the Mariners lost an ugly one last
night and the Chicago White Sox andTexas Rangers. They had to go into
(14:46):
extra innings with the Rangers winning thatone, so they gained a little ground.
But I mean, you know theBlummer and h Todd Kallis were talking
about on the broadcast last night,do you see this series kind of as
a trap series? Listen? Iwhy? I mean, okay, let
me ask you this. How doyou when you're in your situation, meaning
(15:09):
the Astros, with all the injuriesyou've had and what you've overcome to get
to this point, how can youlook at any series and call it a
trap series. I'm not saying they'renot right, but how can you,
as a player or an organization say, how can you roll in after an
all start you already had? TheSeattle Mariners it's a trap series between this
one and the next series, andwho they play after this? They come
(15:31):
back home, Oh, they hostthe Dodgers as well. That's right,
that's exactly got about it, that'sright. And then they welcome into Pittsburgh.
Pirates. Okay, so for me, because it's the Mariners and the
Dodgers. So let's just say youlose three in a row and the Mariners
went to and now you're two down, and then you've got to deal with
(15:52):
the Dodgers in Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh's capableof beating you. They're talented and quite
frankly, the Dodgers, right andthe Dodge the Astros have played great.
The Dodgers are a better team rightnow. I mean when you overall,
right, they just are. Yeah. So whether you win them, beat
them or not, it's one thing. But they're a better team. So
I look at it opposite. Well, yes, you could consider it the
(16:12):
trap series. To me, thisis exactly how you define your friggin baseball
team. This is how you defineit. If you go in there and
it's a trap series and you walkat it and say, yeah, trap
series. Man, we just gotbeat by Oakland. We played Seattle.
We're coming out of the All Starbreak. I don't want to hear tired
because you have Jordan had one atbat, one at bat. You didn't
(16:33):
travel across the country. You wentfrom uh Texas to Vega. What's that
not Texas? Vegas, Texas toSeattle two and a half hours to two
hours and forty five minutes whatever itis, three hours. Maybe you're in
Seattle and you go from Seattle toOakland. It's not that's not a it's
not exactly five thousand five hour flight, not a long trip. That's exactly
right. And the players that didn'tgo, which was all but one,
(16:59):
rested. I honestly, I'm notsaying anybody says I don't want to hear
tired either. You had time off, okay, and then you play Seattle,
which is huge, and you tooktwo or three big and then you're
getting ready play the Dodgers. WhyDodgers in the National League when it really
matters. You're not going to seethem until the World Series. So for
me, these are the I lookat it one hundred percent the opposite.
(17:21):
These are the exact series that you'vegot to prove that you can handle after
you went in and beat Seattle, and the way you've played in June and
July that you're now formidable. You'retied for first place. You can't let
a series like this creep and creepinto your kitchen and let the old man
in and go get beat. Youcan't. You can't do that. So
while Todd and Jeff Plummer or right, could be a trap series, I
(17:44):
hate that phrase, but not fromthem, but we hear it all the
time in pro football. Uh,it's a trap game. Yeah, and
you know what that you know whattrap games? They they said it,
Sorry to cut you off. Theythey said it about the Texans playing Carolina
out out of the bye week.Oh, it could be a trap trap
game. You know what it's youknow what trap game really is an unfocused
on disciplined team at the time.Take it for granted, and to me,
(18:06):
that's when you have to show themost see the best of the best.
You know what they do? Theygo kick the Carolina Panthers ass.
Now, that was a team thatwas still maturing and they came out of
a bye week. Two that theTexans did, which they was it going
into a bye week or coming out? I was coming out out of the
first game out of the way, that's the one you should have come in
and put your and you know what, you just kick ass. That's that's
(18:29):
an eleven one season. They hadno business beating the Texans at home,
in the parking lot or anywhere elsein their own building, which they beat
them in Carolina. So for me, this series here, I am not
I can't. I can't buy intoit yet. It may happen. But
to me, if that's the case, I think it tells me it defines
part of your team by you saying, yeah, we went in there and
(18:52):
locally, how can you Steve Sparksthis team look at the dolls. You
got to do is look at whatthey always look at here is analytics and
numbers, meaning that the Astros thenumbers say the last month they're scoring as
many runs as anybody, correct,And you know, when you get to
about the seventh or eighth inning, good luck. And if you get to
the closer, you might as wellforget it. Yeah, okay, because
(19:12):
you're usually not touching that cat.No, he's really good, right,
So yes, trap, I getit. But I know this is going
to sound crazy in the end.I expect the Dodgers to come in here
and win at least one and maybetwo. I do, I flat out
to and I wouldn't care. Iwouldn't care if Verland or Antucker were healthy.
(19:36):
I would expect it because the Dodgersright now are a better team roster,
as we said. But you knowwhat is that defining the astros?
No? No, no, they'regetting right. They're gonna do it.
The expectations. My expectations are,you should be kicking Oakland's ass even though
they're a better they're probably a littlebit better talent, I mean, production
(19:56):
wise, then forty wins. Yeah, all right, there's some things they
do really well obviously, and theyknow how to score runs and they sure
as hell and maybe a lot ofpeople go in there and take them for
granted and that's why they can scoreruns. But I hate the phrase,
and I hate it because it tellsme that you're that you allowed weakness to
creep in. See if they're notwaking up today pissed is at MOFO that
(20:21):
the Oakland A's beat them coming outof the Seattle series. So now you've
lost two in a row? Correct, Yeah? What it is? So
for me, while it exists.I can't stand the phrase because and Todd
and Blummer are right, but tome, it should be the opposite.
These are the exact series you haveto win, and I think it's a
(20:42):
weak ass excuse if a teams mayI'm not saying the astras are, but
I think it'd be a weak assexcuse. You say, yeah, it
kind of a trap series. Whybecause you mean the dog here. So
you basically are telling me you don'trespect Oakland one. But now if you
don't respect them, you're gonna getbeaten three of them. I just that
that bothers me so bad. Especiallyain't like you got a fifteen game lead.
(21:03):
Yeah, you're tying the division andyou asked to get to a tie
in the division. That's what that'sthat's my point. Yeah, had you
been cruising all your along said, okay, we got beat bytter thanasu,
I we have one of those downgames, right. You're in no position
to have down games against Oakland gettingbeat by Pittsburgh, Okay, happens,
but you sure as hell and theDodgers, but you can't do that.
(21:25):
I don't need more focus in Baltimorethan I do Oakland. I need focus
on both and especially you got toactually gear your focus up against forty win
teams. Can't let it. Wethought against the White Sox, they opened
up and got beat by the WhiteSox and gave the White Sox what was
it their twenty fifth or thirtieth winat the time, whatever it was.
Yeah, it's crazy. So nowI hate the phrase. It may be
(21:45):
it, maybe it exists, butthat just tests the mental strength of your
team, and this team's known fortheir mental toughness. You can't you can't
lose a series to Oakland, andyou can't call this a trap series if
you're any kind of championship team.Screw trap series. I hate it.
You need moreduction from a couple ofplayers for the Houston Astros, A big
name that's going to continue to getmore pub as we get closer to the
(22:06):
trade deadline. Pedro Leone, hemade some headlines yesterday. What did What

I do tell you. I loveraft Man. He's the best.
I uh, they got to wingold, dude, I'm just tripping.
I'm tripping, right, yeah, well, then getting upset. I'm tripping.
(24:23):
There's no way, there is nofrigging way they can't win a gold
medal there, right, right.Crazier things have happened in Paris. Yes,
there there's a lot of crazy thingshappened in Paris. I they're gonna
win a gold medal, but maybethis is just because there is it fair
(24:44):
to say not into it just yet. Trap game? Oh God shined it.
Yeah, I'm going to assume thatthey're going to ramp it up.
I think I think Drew Holliday hadto score the last eleven points for him
to win as well. Last night, I think it was the Lebron.
No, Drew Holliday. I thinkit was Lebron. How you want to
take a bet? Yeah, lasteleven last I'm alm a bet. Uh
(25:07):
yeah, fair enough, last elevenpoints. I believe it was Drew Holliday
to my knowledge, Lebron I thinkprobably led the team in scoring, but
I think the last eleven Drew Holidayput it on him. Did you see
a graphic? No, I'm justtelling you. I'm watching baseball. I'm
watching Kwan Soto hammer balls into theseats. Okay, Siri, boy,
what a celebration he had. He'sa jackass. Yeah, he's a maha.
(25:32):
Such an idiot. He is aI can't tell you how happy I
am that they actually that the Ashlestrading him. He is such a jackass
that you're hitting barely two, you'rebarely hitting the Mendoza line. Stop pipping
your home runs when you were losing. You know who he is. He's
the receiver you're losing. You're downtwenty eight to three with two minutes to
go, catches a six yard hitchon third and five jackass and stands up
(25:56):
and points to the free like likepoints, uh, points down the line,
like first down, right, likewe got a first down. You're
like, dude, just stop it, man, just stop it. He's
a talk about you know how wehave over actors that do too too much
talk about an over celebrator when hewas here talented beyond belief. But when
your when your celebrations are far farbetter than your or when I say far
(26:21):
better, far more noticeable than yourplay, I would suggest you you dig
in and do something else. Andit was Lebron James that scored the last
eleven points. Oh it wasn't Holidays, No, okay, yeah, there
you go. He finished the gamefour or four shootings, scoring the last
eleven points. He had a gamehigh twenty points. You know what it
was Lebron James, what Lebron Dame? I know he led this team.
Would he have twenty twenty one?Last? Yeah? Twenty? Yeah,
(26:41):
yep? Did Holiday even have eleven? No? I got it. I
didn't watch. I didn't watch.I thought I read Holiday had the last
eleven. No, I didn't evenI didn't. Did you watch announce of
the game. I did not.I didn't either. I watched the highlight
and the only reason I saw itis because they said, look at this
thirty nine year old carry in theOlympic team to a win. I think
Bill Raffery was on the call,so that's how I knew. Anthony Davis
I think, said look what Lebron'sdoing at forty five or something, I
(27:04):
mean talking about how what a monsteris. So yeah, I was gonna
say Holiday him getting the last elevenon a team where you know, he's
a really good perimeter defender and canscore when't necessary. But on that team,
I don't think anybody. It's hardto think anybody getting eleven straight on
their own with all those bodies touchingabout. So it was Lebron. Good
call back? Yeah, good callmuch? Right? I don't I don't
win very much on this show, but I just want you know what I
(27:26):
did. And a bad read byme. Okay, Sean, happens man,
Sean, how close is the Damelebron To Drew both got a valin
there? Yeah? Seven one, three, two, two, five,
seven eight s. Talk to Steve, Steve, good morning, thanks for
rolling. Hey guys, four pointsand then I wanted more four real quick,
okay, quick, all right toyour one point. It's last time
(27:48):
we talked. Sean, you saidmiddle You talked me about Middle Fork,
and I'm like Clarence the Angel talkingto George Bailey. I jumped in,
so you joked in. So Idid that on purpose. So the Astros
come back from ten. That's numberone point number one point number two.
I was in Kenter on a shipgambled. I was down twenty eight hundred.
I had twenty dollars left, andI went to twenty eight hundred and
(28:11):
I quit. Point number two pointnumber three. Brokerage accounts. Sixty percent
of the trades are wins, buttwenty percent of the accounts are losses.
And there's a reason why. It'sjust like point number two. They get
to a point that's their goal toget even, and then it's and it's
the last point is a lady isdying and she wants to make it to
(28:34):
Christmas and then she dies. Christmasis the twenty six. So that's really
it. It's the it's a psychologicalthing, a barrier that we get to
a point where we get the stockwe buy is a dog, and then
it comes back and then we dumpit when we should have kept it and
let Amazon go or Apple go.I want to listen to what you say,
(28:55):
because the I don't have the radiolism here. Okay, all right,
I'll put it back on hold.Sean, He's correct, can't let
mental weakness creep in when we gotstocks. We got stocks we got by
low sell high the mental part.I believe he's honestly. I think Steve
(29:18):
means it. I take it asthat you get to a point and then
a mental block's human human nature. But my thing is, and along with
what Steve's saying is you can't lethuman nature creep in at times if you're
a championship team. And when theywon championships, they've been able to think
outside that human nature box, whichI think is important. You feel me,
(29:41):
I mean, you got it.You can't have you can't go one
for six with nerves in scoring positionthat's a mental block. Eight left on
base. I hope they're not ateam. And Steve made the point of
where they get to Okay, wecaught up. It's been a hell of
it. We've you know where theyI guess the next part of that is
have you expended so much energy gettingto it that you're exhausted? Now I'm
(30:03):
not talking about physical, I saidmentally exhausted. Now, I don't want
to I got no excuse for physicalexhaustion. There can't be right with the
rest. And I mean right right, I don't want to hear well man,
and you stay on the West coast, thank you. So if you're
I do understand the length of themental exhaustion, I get it. But
you know what excuses are, Likeeverybody's got one, right, so you
(30:27):
can't Okay, you caught up,but now there's got to be whatever that
next level and shelf is. Nowyou got to kick it into that.
Catching up's just not good enough becausethere's too many teams hovering in the wild
card And Steve sparks Man mentioned ityesterday. It's a great point because it
had to kick in last year towin the division. Is and if I'm
not mistaken. If the Astros don'twin the division, do they lose the
(30:47):
wild card? Is that what thathave happened last year? Was last year?
Yeah, it was a division orbus if I'm not mistaken yet,
because I may be crazy as well, but because who hoo finished second in
the division, the rate Rangers, right and Seattle who had a Seattle got
the wild cards. That's exactly oneof the wildcards. But so they lost.
They were the tiebreaker, which thetiebreaker did not favor the Astros last
(31:08):
year. Either way, that's neitherhere nor there. But it did come
down to tiebreaker at the end, right, but they had to win five
to six. So point is andSteve starts talking about the Minnesota Twins.
Teams that are in the in thetiebreakers, in striking distance of the tiebreaker
or hovering around. You don't wantit to come down to that. Now,
go win the division. It won'tmatter. But it is important to
(31:30):
take care of these and you donot want to leave it to the There's
too many teams hovering around that tiebreakerto put you in a bad way.
You feel me, Yeah, Ifeel your dog. You got to win
these these games, These are gamesyou have to win. I'm sorry the
teams. The team coming to townthis weekend is not exactly chopped over.
They're pretty much and they have aday off Thursday, so they'll come back
what Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, day off Thursday, back at home Friday,
(31:55):
Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and then
you're off again next Thursday. Theyhave the next like four thursdays off.
They had plenty of time in theAll Star break. They shouldn't be tired.
Yeah, they just shouldn't. So. Pedro Leone in the news yesterday
for the Houston Astros. Obviously he'sdown in TRIPAA swinging it very well.

Why You're back? This is theSean Salisbury Show. Get back at it,
(33:52):
Hey Scott, thanks for rolling.Hey guys, good morning. I
just want to say this Astros teamis confusing the hell out of me.
I don't understand it. So youknow, on one hand, you see
I'll two the lead off the gamewith a bunt single. You see paying
you try to lay down a bunt. You see Dubon move runners from first
(34:13):
and second into scoring position with abunt. You love that, right,
But then you see a Litmus Diazcome up to that, a guy who,
after yesterday's game is now batting underone hundred, and you're asking yourself,
why did a spot of trot thisguy out there? And what you
guys are going to tell me isit's a matchup. You know, it's
a right hander versus a less handof pitcher. But at some point,
(34:37):
you know you can overthink the game, and I think a spot needs to
put the guys out there who's gotthem to this point. And I don't
get me wrong. I think Diazis a good signing. Okay, maybe
maybe a spot start here and thereor a pinch hit, but correct and
if I'm wrong, But we justgot rid of the guy who was playing
first base batting one hundred, Soit's I just feel like, you know,
(34:58):
Singleton would have been a better abetter option, or maybe even loll
Perfido killing me. Hey, Scott, listen, I I'm not going to
tell you anything different than what yousaid. I am not. I don't
believe in one percent of the timelefty has to face a righty. Right
he has to face a lefty oran analytics. I just don't to me,
(35:19):
if you're one hundred hitter, you'rehitting a buck ninety one or a
buck fifty, you're a buck fiftyhitter. And I'll take my chances with
a lefty on lefty, with aguy who least hits two fifty or two
twenty or two twenty five, andespecially with the guy who's struggled mightily since
he left here. Correct, Yeah, he's uh this season against left hand
and pitching, and he's hitting abuck eleven against righty's sitting point eighty seven.
(35:39):
Say so, what tells you inthe analytics, he needed to go
to the plate. I don't understandwhy he was even almost up to me
right It's almost like somebody comes in, let's just give him work right now,
I'm talking about I see that ona lot of teams, not just
here. I'm with you. Yeah, I don't. I don't think always.
We're at a time now when Isee, yeah, how many times
are you watching a game, whetherit's the Astros or another watching on five
(36:00):
watching them? If you got thebaseball package like I do, you're watching
and you say, man, thisguy hits better against righty's and lefties.
So this picture pitches better against lefties, and he does righties as a right
hander, right. You see,you hear it all the time. So
when are we going to get tothe point that all we're so specialized that
a left hander can never hit againsta left hander right or a right he
(36:20):
can't hit or I'm talking about Latingames when you pinch it. Why does
that have to happen? And whydo we automatically think that just because a
guy's sitting in the dugout and hehappens to be the opposite side of the
plate as a pitcher, we justrun him out there, a led Mistias.
I have a lot of respect.Great to have him, all that
is it, though, I meanwe're talking about lifetime achievement. Great to
have. But do I sit thereand yearn a pinch hit a leedmistiis,
(36:44):
or stick him in the lineup wherehe plays and gets four at bats the
same? John Singleton can't be tired, hit rest? Right? You get
my point? Right? And I'mwith Scott. I'm not one of those
that, hey, look it tellsme, what tells you and the analytics
he should have been hitting in thatsituation. I mean from the analytics that
I'm looking at you. Yeah, not even close. So I just I'm
(37:07):
I guess I think a little different. Sometimes you just got to play your
better players. Does that make senseto you? Yeah? So let's see,
uh, John Singleton this season againstleft handed pitching hitting the Bucks seventy
four, okay, sixty points higherthan is so reason we need rest?
(37:28):
No, I don't think it's arest thing. I think it's just a
pure matchup thing. You see thewriting left eat, I mean that what
you're telling me not for me.Wait a minute, but you're also telling
me think about old school, didn'tThat used to be the old school rule.
Hey, left he's in the game, got to pinch hit a righty.
Yeah, I thought we got outof the I thought, oh boomers.
But what do you guys thinking thegame changes? Look at the game?
(37:50):
Okay, so if the game changes, let me go righty verse riding
your lefty verse lefty once in awhile, regardless, and especially if one's
analytics tell you he's hitting sixty pointshigher, fifty points higher in that situation.
I don't know. We get somuch. And I think Scott's exactly
with Scott who called right, Ithink he's exactly right. And you and
I have talked about it before.Analytics have caused way too much hesitation and
getting cute and just like you can'tgo full feel for Listen, if a
(38:14):
guy struck out fifteen out of seventeentimes against the guy and it's in the
eighth then and guess what you needto do? Pinch hit it. But
if you got joy, if that'syourd On Alvarez, guess what you gotta
do. He's gonna hit. Soto me, sometimes you just got to
the best player's got to stay inand maybe it's time and sometime eventually a
guy busts out of a slump.So don't I don't always agree with it's
(38:35):
got to be lefty verse riety allthe time. I don't believe in it
all the time. And I knowin certain situations it works. But to
me, in certain most situations,I've brought of my best players out there,
and you're just gonna deal with it. Yeah, you know, all
the shuffling they've had over it atfirst base and things like that. I
found it interesting that they brought backledmis Dz. He has been atrocious this
(38:57):
season, so they sign him JohnSingles and did not play last night.
Chas McCormick is abysmal right now hiddenclose to he's hitting two oho four right
with a three to oho two, slugging in a two sixty eight on base.
So why don't I just there's there'sbeen so much shuffling at first base,
like, why couldn't you just continueto do that? Why did you
need to feel why did you feelthe need to go get a leedmis Dz
(39:21):
Okay, And so it's also andCarrottini got activated off the IL last night.
You means you could tell me toplay first base, right, like
what you muddy the waters? Youmean, you know, and he's a
switch hitter. Right. Here's whatI also don't get it's for at some
point in time. Then you're basicallytelling me, if we're going by what
they're thinking here, aren't you lookingfor a first baseman to come in here?
(39:42):
Then trade dead That's true. Ifyou're signing the leedmis DZ and you're
gonna put him a first base inbetween him and John Singleton and whoever else
you shuffle over there, then yes, then you're gonna have to go get
a first basement at the trade deadline. You know what? I think.
You're also telling me you don't trustJohn Singleton on a regular daily basis,
right, Yeah, and he's nota franchise changer. But I think John
Singleton's earned the right to play firstbase and the majority of the time been
more productive than some of these guysthat I mean, it's been it's well
(40:06):
documented in his numbers that when he'sgetting more reps, he's better. Yeah,
so well he did he needed itdown for what the run between playing
in the hole at first base andgetting to covering the base. John Singleton,
I bet you if you look athim and says, do you need
restaurant? No, I'm good.Yeah, I would imagine he wants to
play every day, and if you'regonna replace him, I'm not sure.
(40:28):
I'm replacing him with one hundred plushitter. Lebsd has hitting point zero nine
four, So you know what.It also tells you they don't have any
trust in the first base position ona daily basis, right around trying to
find another body, and they wantedthey had a lefty on the mound,
so they went straight. Yeah, automatically, baseball is weird. Brother is
(40:50):
man, you're telling me, let'sget to the top of the hours.
We get to seven o'clock. JohnHayman, MLB insider talking about a new

Salisbury Olby Salisbury Houston. Okay, let's do this. Sean Salisbury,
there to usc true, longtime friend, Shawn Salisbury, Ryan Lima, go
Lobos. This is the Sean SalisburyShow. Before we get to that,
talk to Alex. Alex, goodmorning, thanks for holding rnfellas. How's
(44:00):
it going, fantastic brother? What'son your mind with these astros? Oh?
Not much, man. I justI don't understand bringing a ledgments back
up whenever you've got uh, Seesarsalads Are and Victor Tarantini coming back.
If you want a first baseman justto spot field for Singleton, who's been
(44:22):
doing a relatively decent job. Inmy opinion, you put one of them
over there as that spot pild.It gives you solid contact bats in that
position, rather than optioning Salazar downto tripa A and Great Kensinger down and
then bringing up Diaz who has beenwith us for some big moments and put
(44:45):
up some decent at bats, buthe's not as solid as what he should
be. In my opinion, Ithink there were better moves that could have
been made there. But that's justyou know, one man's opinion. Yeah,
good point, Alex, it reallyis, I uh to me,
(45:08):
they're just it's a loud, loudroar that they don't trust the first base
position. Yeah. So if theydon't, are they just gonna live with
what's going on? Can they win? To put it this way, are
they good enough everywhere else? Andwe don't know when Tucker's coming back?
Good enough everywhere else where? Youdon't need slugging or consistent play from that
position now. I I think Singleton, as I've said, has earned the
(45:30):
right to play there most every day. And why are we battling having Victor
Karatini over there when he comes back? What? What's what? Why why
would you battle that? Well? What's the problem with that? I don't
know. He was activated yesterday.I know that's why. Why would why
would you? What's the battle withnot wanting to play him there? I
don't know. If he's a beast, I got news for you. He's
(45:52):
a better hitter. He's a betterhitter than more consistent hitter, in my
opinion's played every day even than Singleton. Now, I put John over there
because I think he's heard of it. Led Mistis is just a guy right
now. You sent guys down thathave been with wealth. Greg, He's
got fifteen at bats as many atbats as you do. He didn't even
have this year. He doesn't havea batting average, right, that's my
point on base percentage, he hasnothing. You and I You and I
(46:15):
is uh him collecting checks? Isis the biggest highway robbery of all time,
collecting big league checks. But goodfor him get the money. I
mean, we've probably played a littlemore wolf of ball at bats than he
has, and I havent played wolfball in a minute. So that you
want to get a game, we'lltake on every Well, yeah, dude,
you who I'm just saying, who'sbeating us in this building? Uh?
(46:36):
Line them up, nerds. SoI said to me, it's it.
It begs the question with Kyle TuckerWarrior is are they good enough as
we sit today, even if yougo get a frontline pitcher. Yeah,
they're good enough to win a WorldSeries with with with minimal production and or
(46:58):
indecisiveness at first place. So Ithink to answer your question, no,
and the issue this season, sofar as we are, the Astros are
fifty and forty eight. When theylose games like they did last night,
it's always it's most of the time, it's always the same thing. It's
eight men left on base and onefor six with runners in scoring position,
which we saw last night, andthere's the there's a hole first base.
(47:22):
Yeah. John Singleton has done Yeoman'sWorld. Okay, he's been productive.
He's had good defense, well comparedto what we've seen over there. Oh
yeah, like day right, Yes, so I get the I mean part
of me gets the matchup thing, the lefty on left you why don't you
just continue to run John Singleton outthere? Just just let it play every
(47:43):
day. You want to give anoff day after six in a row,
then throw Victor Karattini out there nowthat he's activated off the eyel agreed.
If somebody is far better the analyticsstate of the guy the riety verse left,
he left vers right is far betterpen hitting, Yeah, but if
the analytics say same or worse, why pinch hit him? Yeah? What
(48:06):
happens if you get into extra inningsand maybe the analytics then say Eleedmistius in
his career is hitting three twenty againstwhoever comes in later. You get my
point, I don't need to justwaste a player just because well he's a
right hander, but he can't hithis way. If he jumped out of
the boat, he'd missed the oceanright now, that makes sense. Yes,
(48:28):
he couldn't hit water if you outof him. That's exactly right.
I mean, you know, talkabout those quarterbacks that aren't accurate. I
mean, you're standing on the beachand you can't hit the water. Yeah,
you know what I'm saying. Soand listen, I'm all about what
Alemistius did here, did doing anddid or two different things right now,
maybe he catches fire. But Ijust to me, listen, they got
(48:51):
beat last night, and I don'twant to hear trap stuff. I know
they said it, and it's probablyfair that the broadcast said it. But
you've got to be mentally tougher thanto have let Oakland be a trap series
because the Dodgers and you're, you'reit's a coupled maybe you know, Sandwich
from the Dodgers and the Mariners justcan't do it. Especially you don't have
the comfort of a fifteen game ortwelve game or eight game. No,
you don't. You don't have thatcomfort. No, you don't. You're
(49:13):
tied yes, in the West.So it frustrates me when you lose game.
It's not just the first base.It frustrates me when they're with You're
right, Brian, when they're attheir worst or they're not winning games,
guys are sitting there with their withtheir thumb and there you're Stele stranded on
base. Yeah, that's exactly whateight men left on base last night.
One guy Cheef. He thinks thatas it sets right now, that this
(49:35):
team hitting is not going to bea problem, and he's never felt it's
going to be a problem. WhichI love Steve for that, and I
hope he's one hundred percent right. But I think he's coupled with the pitching's
got to get better and they've gotto go make a move in order for
both of them to be simpatico.Does that make sense. Yeah, you're
gonna have to overcome one. There'sa weakness in every lineup. As he
said, every team's got one rightnow. It tells you right now that
they don't that they don't believe firstbase is I don't want to say superstar
(50:00):
and just solidified. Yeah, oryou'd keep Singleton there, and he wouldn't
be pinch hit for for a guywho's hitting worse than he is against the
matchup. Yeah, let's see ifJohn Hayman had some thoughts on the first
base position and what the Astros couldtry and get at the trade deadline.
This is John Hayman talking about it. So let's start with the Astros.
Yeah, one of the many teamslooking for pitching. You say there's an
(50:22):
option if they want to get aggressiveat first base. What do you think?
Yes, I think you're gonna likethis one, Robert. They're certainly
looking at first base and they wereinterested certainly of Christian Walker or Peter A.
Lonzo is going to be available. It doesn't appear that they're going to
go anywhere. Those teams are incontention right now. But there's another guy
(50:44):
who can play first. Did playfirst in New York last couple of days.
Isak Parades. I don't think thename has really been out there,
but this is a potential fit forthe Astros, and you know, he
really works a number of levels forthem. First of all, pull hitter.
I mean, this is the mostfull hitter in baseball, but every
(51:05):
single one of his sixty plus homeruns has been pulled, So Crawford Box's
meet Esac Parades. Also, hehas three more years to go, and
he's really a third base he's playingfirst the third baseman, and I mean,
you know as well as I do. It doesn't appear they are very
likely to be able to keep Bragmanshipped over to third. So this is
(51:31):
actually why I mean, no perfectfit is a cliche. This is a
pretty good fit. H Estesac Paradesplaying for Tampa Bay right now in two
fifty two, got three hundred andforty five at bats, fifty one rbi
ops of eight oh three. Let'sgo, Hey, I'll tell you what
(51:52):
happens if you get him. Callthem there. He's got fourteen sixty FM
fourteen six three and full sure that'llbe the route and full shir Katie.
Parades get you a parade. Tengames at first base so far, seventy
seven over at third base. Eachparades get you a parade. Why John
(52:14):
Hayman sounds like he smokes a cigarette. Damn dude, John, how's that
great parade? Third base? We'regonna take a break and John's gonna go
smoke his fourth grid of the day. God, some smoke rigs on there.
God, do you think the parade'sback on? If parades is here?
(52:36):
Do you think so? John Hayman, a baseball columnist at New York
Post and Saturday will be network good, good at his job. I'm just
saying, if the Astros win tonight, parade's back on. Where's the route
Louisiana Street or FM fourteen sixty threeover in full, shir Katie, Thank
you whatever, thank you. Sowe call it a thorough thoroughfare, Yeah,
(53:00):
thorough ferries the round about in there. Do you call it the feeder
road? Do you? Or doyou call it the service road? What?
There's one, the other one, there's the third one. What do
they call it the Did you talkabout the parallel road to the freeway?
Yeah? The uh you get thefeeder, the service, service, frontage,
(53:25):
frontage, that's what I got,the front road. Frontage guy?
Are you always have been? Ithink that maybe a little West Coast.
I'm a frontage guy. It's inthe frontage road. It borders the freeway,
the frontage road. They even callit the parallel road. That's what
didn't I say to runs parallel tofree So you call it that frontage road
frontage. You don't have to sayfrontage in parallel because that would be redundant,
(53:46):
right, say the same thing.Because a frontage road can't run perpendicular.
I believe it's got to run parallel. So let's just call it the
front Are you a service guy,No, it's a feeder road. I'm
on the feed Yeah. It feedsyou into the service road. It feeds
you onto the freeway, right, either road feeds to the highways. Yeah,
(54:07):
the freeway feeds. Sometimes it doesn'teven feed into its own lane.
He'll feed right in your lane.Slow traffic up. They've got a lot
of that around here. Yeah, that's everywhere around here. I'm from.
What about you, triple e?Yes? What do you call it?
I'll call it the feeder? Whatdo they call it? Up in Tulsa?
They have highways up there? Wedo, But that's the thing,
(54:27):
like, yeah, we don't havelike feeders. You just get on the
highway. They don't call it latefor dinner. They just don't call it
call what do they call it upthere? They can call whatever they want,
they just can't call it late fordinner. Right, is that where
you're going on? That's that's whatare your favorite What are your favorite eggs?
I like it. Frontage, Yeah, Frontage feeder service. I'm not
sure how we got here. Idon't know how you got here either.
(54:49):
I don't either, but I likeyour style. John Hayman, Oh,
I know I East Soak Paradus,Yeah, FM fourteen sixties. That's right,
the parade, Yeah, Kieu.I don't know if I don't know
if our roads will be ready forit by then. So I'm just saying,
if you know what I'll save itcould be the stakeout question, which
we got next. So let's checkout the steak out right here on the
Seawan Salisbury Show. Well, theSewn Salisbury Show. I like you.
(55:19):
Back to Sean Salisbury and Brian laLima on Sports Talk seven ninety. All
right, Sean, what are youhearing out there now? The Salisbury steakouts
Salsbury takeout on the Sean Salisbury Show. It's time for the steak out here
(55:43):
on the Shawn Salisbury Show. SeanBrown and Tripoli Astro's back in action tonight

your home for Astros Baseball Texans trainingcamp continues. USA Men's basketball edging Germany
in the final Olympic tune up game. Sewn. I'm just gonna come out
now ask you, are you excitedat all for the Olympics? Well,
(56:08):
I know you're not since you thoughtthey started like two weeks from now,
because they started the first week ofSeptember three excited. Uh not really,
if you if you want full truth, I'm not. I'm not excited.
I'll tell you what I am.What I do love though when I when
(56:29):
it comes on, I'll be excitedright now. If you're saying, Shawna,
you are you preparing like you andI would for college football game day?
Right? No, I'm not excited. I always get excited for the
athletes. And there's always some incrediblestories like what's Katie Ldecki gonna do?
You know with all those medals shewon right here? How are we going
to do in gymnastics? Right right? So? And I'm I'm sure there's
(56:52):
a I don't even know all therepresentatives in Texas, and and I know
that A and M and U Tand all of them are Houston, will
all have great representative Is that areyou know that are from their institution in
schools, but I do get excited. I'll tell you what I don't miss,
meaning during the Olympics, I'll watchevery every time. It's either the
qualifying is swimming. I freaking lovewhen Dan Hicks and Rowdy Gains are on
(57:15):
the call. Awesome yes, andthe energy. I love the swimming,
and I love the track and field, especially the track. I love the
four by. I like the qualifying. I like to watch the four by,
the two hundred meters, I liketo watch the four hundreds. I
like the track events. I lovethe swimming part. And then you mix
(57:37):
in every now and then you maysee a good, you know, golf
match, you may see a goodbasketball game. I usually wait till the
very you know, when we're startingto close out in basketball. It's like
when when hockey I love. Duringthe Winter Olympics, I like, I
love hockey. I think the downhillskiings, you know, the slalom is
pretty cool too. But the SummerOlympics, I may swim and big time.
(58:01):
I probably watched that, not probablythat far and away the most,
and the track and field events, but other than that, as far as
like, oh my gosh, I'mhanging on every move, And I think
the gymnastics are pretty impressive because I'mjust impressed with their strength and their how
phenomenally coordinated and bound all that stuff, And I'm thinking, how do you
(58:22):
do the iron cross from the ringsof the ring sety, It's just it's
it's a freak show, right, just how talented and strong they are and
pressed to a handstand from a sittingposition, you know, you push your
legs through and pressed to a handstI've just impressed that. So I watched
that as well. But other thanthat, there'll be events that are going
to go through that I'll be likeI didn't see one time, so excited.
(58:45):
No, swimming and track and field, yes, so you're not gonna
watch the archery. No, I'mimpressed with all the skill sets and I
know it's a dream come true, and hey, who wouldn't want to represent
your country and get a gold medal? But pumped and up where like I
used to be when I'd sit infront of watch it all the time.
No, probably, And I thinkname familiarity probably has a lot to do
(59:06):
with it, don't you, Brian. There's some of the names and events
that you really don't know very much. Right, you don't watch, but
you know you root for our countryand all of it. And but I
don't miss the swimming. I watchit. I mean when I say don't
miss it, I don't not misswatching it. I love watching it.
I won't miss an event. Ilove it. And I love the track
and field. The you know guysrun trying to run nine six hundred meters
(59:28):
and the the baton handoff. Imean all this stuff I big. Other
than those two, I don't setmy clock by it. So the opening
event for the Olympics starts tomorrow, which is a soccer match, and that
I take that, And that's anotherone. I will watch soccer. Yes,
And then the opening ceremony is onFriday, and they're not doing it
(59:52):
in a stadium. The opening ceremonyis going to be on a river in
Paris, the Sign River, thefamous river. Yeah. So they're gonna
be on boats. That's pretty cool. I mean they got grand stands packing
the river, yeah, alongside it. Oh, that's a nice change.
It's like it's almost like the Fourthof July paraded a parade in a place,
like you know they do Harbor,California. What do they do in
(01:00:15):
Chicago. Is that the same patripaint they paint the grain. Yeah.
When I say paint it, theycolor it green. But yeah, then
that's another you're exactly. I watchedsoccer as well, but I I root
for our country and there'll always bea story when you're like, oh my
gosh, I can't believe that upset. That's awesome when they're standing on the
stand and you they do some featureon somebody and that person wins a gold
(01:00:35):
medal, it's really cool. Soyeah, and I used to love boxing,
but the boxing has lost a lotof flavor for me over the years.
Yeah, I used to love it. We watched, you know,
the old school days of Dwayne Bobbicand Tiafilo Stevenson in that group and Sugar
Ray Leonard, I mean years ago, but it's lost a little bit of
the it's luster for me. Butswimming and track and field for mere the
(01:00:58):
top two. I mean, haveyou been to an Olympics eighty four Olympics
Los Angeles? Yeah? What wasthat like? Phenomenal? Was it?
Oh? Yeah? Yeah? Itwas the energy and stuff it was it
was. It was incredible. Ourswimming at sc the swimming facility they built
an Olympic pool for it. Sothe swimming was there. Wow, they
(01:01:20):
you know, track and field wasat the coliseum. It was uh,
it was pretty cool being in LosAngeles for that. Yeah that was right
when that was when I was incollege, so it was a it was
a good time. Yeah. Yeah, I would love to go to some
sort of Olympic event here in theStates whenever it gets back here. No,
just say it's it's kind of it'slike a World Cup, you know,
you'd want to go to one ofthose two, right, and oh
yeah that's gonna be what here intwenty twenty six? Right, got to
(01:01:43):
go to one? Right, Yeah, you just have to. Yeah,
absolutely, But yeah I love theOlympics, but I don't It's I'm not
like every day all day, butI will not miss the swimming events.
Yeah, those are those are someof my favorite two. Excuse me,
especially with those guys on the broadcast, like they'd make it that much better
and like just watching like when UsainBolt, even though he wasn't you know,
he's from what Jamaica. When you'resaying Bolt was running one hundred meters,
there was always like, is hegonna run alle hundred meters, or
(01:02:04):
he's gonna start smirking at eighty fivemeters and still go win by three yards,
right, three meters. I thinkthe intrigue of watching these how fast
these men and women are absolutely mindboggling. Yeah, really is. That's
That's one thing I'm gonna be lookingforward to. Agreed. All right,
let's let's get back to baseball. There is one team in the National League
that could be a big time sellerthat no one saw coming. Who is
(01:02:29):
it? That's next? Le's portStalk seven ninety The Shawn Salisbury Show continued
potentially be sellers at the trade deadline. Yesterday, cub's president Jed Hoyer made
it official. Barring a big winstreak over the next week, anything the
team does at the trade deadline willbe to help them in the future years.
(01:02:53):
So if they lose, don't figureit out. There's another team that
could be sellers. They've got somegood players they do. So saying you're
gonna go on a roll in aweek, yeah, you gotta go on
a roll in a week. Soyou go, hey, we're on a
five game win streak. Okay,So that's gonna change your thought process,
(01:03:15):
that philosophy. You know who yourteam is at the stage, right,
Let's see in that division, theChicago Cubs are nine games back. At
the Central they are forty nine andfifty three. They have won two in
a row. And then over onthe wild card standings, the Cubs are
(01:03:37):
three and a half back. You'vegot the Braves, Cardinals and Mets.
Braves just lost Auzzie Albi's for eightweeks. Yep, saw that Cardinals in
that second wild card spot. Andthen they are the Mets Pirates half game
back, Padres half game back,Diamondbacks one back, and then they are
the Cubs at three and a halfback. But then you got the Giants
(01:03:58):
and the Reds and the Nationals allfour and a half back. That in
a wildcard is up for grabs foranybody. So with the president of the
Cubs coming out and saying unless youhave a win streak, well they're gonna
be sellers. So I would say, when you look at some of the
guys up and down there their lineup, Let's see Cody Bellinger, Well he's
(01:04:21):
on the IL, but I'm surehis name will be mentioned. Ian Happ,
I'm not sure about Dansby Swanson. If I'm not mistaken. He signed
a pretty nice little contract, andthen of course you know you're gonna look
at Jamison tie On. I betwould be a name as a local kid,
is gonna be a name that's probablygonna be uh swirled in trade rumors.
(01:04:42):
So he could be one, youknow, a potential target depending on
what the Cubs would be asking for. He's seven and four with a three
point one race, pitching well sofar this season. So I found it
interesting that the Cubs his the presidentcomes out and says that one they're still
within striking distance of that. Isay, I don't think all teams that
(01:05:04):
are still have playoff hope are justautomatic buyers or stand pat I think some
realize their team's not a threat andare going to sell anyway. And the
Cubs may be one of those. You know, what's a threat, a
threat that you can compete and possiblyget to the playoffs, or you know
the current status of your team, say we're okay, we're kind of hanging
(01:05:25):
on by a thread. Let's getrid of this and give get up,
get rid of some salary, andget some assets and start to build it
a little different, just because you'reif they're like when people say, well,
there's eighteen teams that are in playoffwithin eight games. You may be
within eight games, but you maynot trust your team as a front office,
right so, and somebody above youmay be saying, cut payroll,
(01:05:47):
dude, we're not that good. You know, you don't know what's going
on, right So, I don'tbelieve a five game win streak between now
and the trade deadline all of asudden changes. Now, if you win
eight in a row and you're goingand deadlines here and you say, you
know we're in it. We've closedthe gap by two games and now we're
only you know, three out ofthe wild card, we'll then have at
(01:06:08):
it. But I still think teamsthat are within striking distance will still be
willing to sell some if they don'ttrust their team as a championship team.
Also, when we're talking about thistrade deadline, which is right around the
corner, there was another report thatI saw yesterday in regards to Pedro Leon.
I teased earlier. The sources theAstros are expected to have Cuban outfielder
(01:06:30):
Pedro Leon as a trade piece bythe trade deadline. Leon is not an
option to be promoted, and thefranchise has no room for him. He
Owes owns one of the best performancesthis season in tripa A sitting three h
three, nineteen bombs, seventy fourhome runs are excuse to be nineteen home
runs, seventy four rbi and twentytwo stolen bases. Why not give him
(01:06:51):
a shot? He's getting no runup here, No, not at all,
Like not even been discussed. Wehaven't heard one thing about potential to
him being brought up. Oh,if you're going to give him no run?
Is he an asset to move? He? Absolutely he is. I
would is that I'm talking about that? I know the name and they're in
their own mind? Or is hethe guy's on touch? He just does
(01:07:11):
he hits. No run, Nonone at all. His name has been
featured four years, right, it'sno run. It's kind of weird,
it is. So if that,if that's if that's what getting rid of
him is part of the sting thatwe you know it's going to sting a
little bit, then that's it.But I'm wondering the guy and the guy's
versal too. He can play theoutfield, he can play shortstop, he
(01:07:31):
he can do a lot of things, and he's got some power in his
bad he's got pop, he's agood player. So I don't know,
it almost feels like, what areyou priming him to go and be an
asset that that gets you part ofa package that gets you a bigger frontline
pitcher. He will be moved.I think you're right. I feel like
he'll be moved far more than Ieven thought Cory Lee was going to be
(01:07:54):
moved. Yeah, you know whenI was commissioned, right, Yeah,
but I was going to compare rightto held in high regard doing and move
him next thing. You know,he's playing somewhere else. Yeah, So
see, he'll be moved. Ithink I don't argue that at all.
Brother. I mean, when you'rehitting three zero three with nineteen bombs,
seventy four RBIs, twenty two stolenbases, and you're not getting any runner
even a potential to bring brought upto the big league level, what does
(01:08:14):
any do well? I don't know. With all that power and dry and
run producer and multiple positions and cansteal bases, that would be a guy.
In certain organizations you'd say he's oneof our top prospects. Yes,
we got to get him up hereright right and see how he does.
I mean, if we got what'sthe hold up? I don't know.
(01:08:34):
I mean, I know you havea surplus of arms excuse me, not
arms, but outfielders. I getthat. So if you move Chas McCormick,
does that mean we see more PeterLeone or does that mean low Berfiedo
is gonna play a lots? That'sprobably Lowberfedo, right. So yeah,
I mean, I'm not saying he'stoo good for the minor leagues, but
hasn't he proven enough to say, come on now, like, at least
(01:08:56):
get a time, get a series? Yeah? Well, or fifty at
bats? Yeah, the second halfof the season, I mean, win,
I understand it. It's a blessingand a curse. A blessing to
be on a great in a greatorganization, a curse to be on a
team that doesn't give you a lotof movement. With Kyle Tucker in the
line of the way, Jake Myersplaying, You're not gonna play shortstop because
Paine is really good third, Imean, no matter what position, I
don't know, can he play firstbase? You know what I'm saying.
(01:09:19):
You start to look around and saywhere can you find him? I mean,
I guess, but how long you'regonna let him sit down there without
getting swings up here? Well,I guess what's the You know, people
always talking about the clock, likeyour major league clock, your your options
and all that stuff. I guessmaybe they're keeping him down to be a
fresh Hey, this guy's never spentany big league time, so you can
have him under arbitration for the nextfour years, three years or whatever.
(01:09:41):
But it's he lose his or doeshis frustration start to mount, it's probably
already there because they tell you putnumbers up at every level. And when
you're putting numbers up like he hasdone, that is that Okay? Got
to give the guy a shot.Yeah, don't be surprised if he's playing
somewhere else after this, he's goingto be moved. Yeah. I think
you're probably right, because especially ifthat's a piece that gets you a guy
(01:10:02):
who is going to be a threepitcher, that moves him up to whoa
that's a number two, that that'sa I don't want to say wow factor,
but that's got some clout right, yeah, you know, and then
also, you know one of thenames that's gonna continue to be brought up
until the trade deadline. At thebig league level. Is Chas McCormick.
We know what he's done in thepast. The ops is usually up there
a little bit better than it isthis year. The defenses is you know,
(01:10:23):
is productive, but yet he islooks atrocious this season. So it's
like, what team is gonna becalling for him? The teams are gonna
be calling for Jake Myers, teamsare gonna be calling for Joey Librafido.
How you gonna be able to packageChas McCormick into something if you try to
get rid of him. He's notswinging it well. So that just shows
me that pedro leone is going tobe moved even more so. And if
(01:10:44):
it, if it gets him outof here and he gets to play every
day, I'm sure absolutely I wouldn'tblame him either. For one. I
mean, I'm assuming he's probably saying, if they're not gonna get me run
here, please trade me, yeahso I can go play. Yeah,
agreed. It's crazy. I readthese numbers last night and we brought him
up, I don't know, threemonths, four months ago. Yeah,
Well, we've been talking about sincethe season started writing win win, and
(01:11:06):
he's just gone out and got moreproductive and he's kind of I don't want
to say the lost forgotten guy.Mm hmm. But whenever we're talking with
were tying low prafeedo on a bunchof names, his name doesn't get talked
about. Yeah ever ever, excuseme. It's like, well, when
whin's he? I don't know,but I can tell you this. I
guarantee there's gonna be if he getstraded, somebody's gonna covet him and say,
(01:11:26):
come play right now. We gotespecially a team that's out of it
and wants to see what they gotin the future. Yeah, go play
him, find him a spot andput him in the lineup. Seven one,
three five, seven ninety is thenumber to join talking about the trade
deadline. It's right around the corner. There's another name that was dfad yesterday.
Could he be a target for theAstros? That's next in Sports Talk
seven ninety. This is the SeanSalisbury Show. That's beautiful. Let's got
(01:11:51):
out to Ken and Katie. Ken, welcome in, man, How you
doing Hey good? Uh So,first of all, you're look them for
the Angels being able to only beatone team this year, and that being
the Mariners, we'll take it.So, with the trade deadline looming,
(01:12:11):
as a team that's clearly in theseller, the seller's market market, I
look at things kind of a littlebit differently. And when I look at
the Astros and I know there's alittle bit of a depletion for their minor
league system, do you guys thinkthat they're probably only in the unless we
get that pitcher who is that numbertwo, number three starter, maybe even
(01:12:32):
a number one star starter. Notthat they have a lot into some to
try to trade for that, butit's like it's that or or nothing,
and we just stay in pat andsee where we go. This team,
obviously they're not selling anything. They'llgive away a piece or two, I
would imagine to get a frontline pitcher. I don't think they can. I
(01:12:54):
don't think they're going to leave thistrade deadline without a splash of some kind,
meaning a pitcher, and maybe morethan one, and who knows,
depending on how active they are.I don't think this is just let it
pass. I think it'd be ais this fair to say, a failure
if they don't make a deal.Yes, not a failure as a team,
but a failure at the trade deadline. I would think it would be,
(01:13:14):
hey, you gotta have somebody thatwants to deal with you. You're
not just being to deal to deal. You got somebody has to make a
difference. So if they stand patand say, you know what, I
think the Garcia and mccullor's information hasset them back a little bit. I
think that created more urgency the Verlanderthat he's still not you know, full
speed and going Tucker still not goingfull speed. I mean you start to
(01:13:38):
look around and say, okay, can we do this with this? I
think they can make the playoffs asthey sit today. I don't think they're
a World Series threat as they sittoday, with all these injuries in the
way things are going. I justdon't. But I guess if you get
in the playoffs, you're in thetournament. You always got a chance.
I do think they need to makesomething happen. So for me, I
(01:13:59):
would consider an l if they wentpast the trade deadline, Brian and this
is and they didn't make a move, then nobody dealt with them, and
they didn't. They didn't didn't wantto give away too much. I think
it would be an l don't youdo? And so I think it's gonna
happen. Now, how big thatis, how much they're gonna give away.
I think that's gonna tell you justhow big they believe in their team.
If they don't do a lot, they'll say, we're gonna play this
(01:14:21):
out, but we feel that wegot a chance if they don't. But
I don't think they'd ever admit,hey, we're okay, We're just a
playoff team. You're never gonna hearthat they think world series. I like
to think they think world series arebusted. I think they think they're good
enough getting k Tucker back to gomake a run with a pitcher or two.
So to me, they're gonna makethis deal happen, a deal of
(01:14:42):
some sort. I don't think it'dbe wise for simple pr the optics not
to make a move, let aloneyour chance to go win a World Series.
I don't think Dana Brown wants tojust get to the playoffs. Yeah,
Speaking of pitching, James Paxton ofthe Dodgers eight and two this season
four four three era was dfaid yesterdayby Los Angeles. He will the Dodgers
(01:15:06):
will have seven days as of yesterdayto try and trade for him before he
clears waivers, and the overall needfor starting pitching throughout the league, I'm
assuming the Dodgers are gonna find somebodyhe However, even though the eight eight
and two record, he has walkeda national league leading forty eight batters while
(01:15:26):
striking out just sixty four, heranks within the bottom twenty percent of the
sport and expected ERA, chase percentage, hard hit rate, and among other
stats. So the statistics, theexcuse me, the underlying metrics are not
favorable. Even though he has beenvery reliable for the Dodgers this season at
eight and two, he started everysingle time he has been called on this
(01:15:46):
season. And he's a veteran, played for Seattle for a long time,
played for your Boston Red Sox lastyear, going seven to five with the
four to six ERA. So isa guy who's will give you innings and
he's got some stuff. Dude,he pumped it up around. He also
did not want to leave for elevenyears against the Red Sox this past weekend.
(01:16:09):
Dude, he got up to ninetysix ninety seven when he was living
and the broadcast we're talking about said, and you were asking I think it
was called David Cone, right Coneson the Sunday in that broadcast, right,
and David Cone was saying, he'slike three or four miles an hour
faster you and and they were askinghim why, meaning David Cone, how
does that happen? He said,a lot of times when it's hot air
(01:16:30):
and the veteran arm. Veteran armslike warm, warm weather, he said,
So you may see him wrapping upPaxson was throwing it up in the
strike zone and getting people out onhigh stuff and and pumping at ninety six
ninety seven. So he's got thatin him. And you're right, those
levels from that side of the youknow, rubber, that's a that's a
good thing to get. And hecan give you tough innings because he's seen
(01:16:54):
he's been on a lot of Imean some teams, and he's been in
some some pressure situations. He's beenwith Seattle, the Yankees, Seattle again
than Boston now the Dodgers. Yes, they call him Big Maple, James
Austin Paxton. I like the BigMaple, though, Big Maple, Well,
do you know about the Big Maplemore than you do? You do?
(01:17:15):
Have ever been to Canada. Ihave you have? Yeah, I
know all about Canada a time ortwo. What about you? Have you
ever walked in Have you ever crossedthe border to Canada? I have?
Yeah, Yeah, I went toNiagara Falls. Awesome. Yeah, that's
I'm not I'm not hanging out withthat justin. Did you go on the
US side or on both and yeahside? Yeah, really cool. It's
(01:17:38):
ear it's it's almost intimidating standing there. You don't even want to get close
to all I got. I got. I made myself go as close as
I can. I did just soI'm not afraid of well, I'm terrified.
If I I'm not, so,I could say that I got to
lean over Niagara Falls. It wasterrified. And it was in December too.
Yeah. Oh it's cold. Yeah, it was awesome. One of
the coolest experiences. It is aIt is one of the great wild factors
(01:18:02):
in person in your life. Yeah, Like, I can't explain unless you
just go, like you have togo. You start to say, well,
what happens if you get in theboat start you start to run through

such a beautiful, impressive side.Let's get to some Texans talk. Joe

Joe Mixon, Texan's running back, has missed back to back training camp
(01:21:20):
practices. Not sure if he willpractice today Dimiko. Ryan spoke about it
yesterday and said, quote Joe maymiss a little time, but he will
be fine. End quote. Anythingto trip over Sean or is this uh
just something? It is what itis. I'll be honest with you.
I'm not tripping over it. Theone position from it. I mean,
(01:21:43):
there's a few positions. As you'rea veteran, guess what I'm not worried
about during training camp Joe Mixing gettingany game time. I just want to
do just as long as he's inshape and gets enough run. I imagine
the offense will come fairly natural tohim because he comes from an offense that
has a lot of the similar stuffverbiage from the you know, the Zach
Taylor's background. I'm not overly concernedwith it. Now if you tell me
(01:22:04):
that this he's missing some time, that there's some underlying, something serious concern.
But what's Joe Mixing? Ben?Since he been in the league during
game day, durable, reliable thatdamn righty has, so this doesn't bother
me. I've been on teams.I don't need my running back, my
go to guy. Matter of fact, I would not play him much in
(01:22:25):
the preseason anyway. Give him acouple snaps, you know, a little
pass throw once in a while, get out run a round, hand it
to him a little bit. Hedoesn't need fifteen touches, twenty touches,
At ten touches a game, Idon't need that from him. Hell,
get it to Damien Pierce so hecan start to get a little more feel
for this zone stuff. I don'tneed a lot from Joe Mixon, just
paying attention, watching, getting going. I think he's a huge now as
long as it's like I said, there's nothing serious a few days here and
(01:22:47):
there for running back, fresh legs. To me on a guy who gets
it and has been in this league, fresh legs are far more important than
wearing him out until Game three he'stired. If this was the regular season,
he'd bothered me. It's not.I'm not worried about it. I
think for running backs training camp canbe overrated. A veteran running back that
is, I need fresh legs fromhim. Yeah. It gives guys like
(01:23:08):
Cam Akers and Damian Pierce more learnwith the offense during now as it should
practice, damn right, and thoseguys are going to have to play significant
roles. I mean, we sawhow many different running backs you had Devin
Singletary running the football last year.Obviously, Damian Pierce not as much run
because he couldn't really figure out theoffense. So I don't know, man,
I see the offense that we sawlast year. Bring in Joe Mixon
(01:23:32):
is a very underrated move across theleague and it's huge for the Texans.
But then I look at guys likeDamian Pierce, like and my question,
you, Sean, is he gonnafigure it out this season? If he
doesn't figure it out, and theyjust realize that he's a talented player,
but he just can't quite understand wherewe're going with this offense. It just
(01:23:55):
doesn't fit in. Then you startto say, Okay, where can we
move into somewhere that he's young, got a lot of real estate left in
him, and we can go getsomebody for him. I think this is
a moving year one way or theother for Damian Pierce. I do because
the system, the team's gonna behere and this is what they're gonna do.
I think he has to prove thatthe patience and that he fits into
(01:24:15):
with what they're trying to do.It doesn't have anything to do with this
if he's talented or not. He'sskilled guy, but there is a different
approach to this offense. And thenthey want to get the back in the
passing game he's got and also passpro Remember now he didn't play a lot
of It's not like he took thirtysnaps. I mean thirty runs. It
touches a game at Florida. Yeah, he didn't run very much right,
and then his rookie year he wasa go to guy. They bring in
(01:24:38):
a new system. So he's gotto learn that. He's he's still in
the infancy of his career. I'mnot quitting on him at all. I
think he's talented, but for himit will be this is either it's not
a make or break. He's tooyoung, too talented. It is a
moving year one way or the other. If all of a sudden you realize
here he's just a guy. Somewhereelse he can be a player. You
may think about moving him. Buthe had really good depth and he's explosive,
(01:25:00):
especially when you run a run insideand say we're going downhill. He
just got to learn understand the insidezone an outside zone concept and to be
a patient runner. But also you'relooking for past protection. I don't want
it to be a two down back. We got to pull him out when
it's throwing and you just run himand we got to make it justin.
You don't have time to slow downfor one guy. Yeah, because he's
trying to learn he's got he's gotto keep up on the emotional the mental
(01:25:23):
side of making sure he gets whatthey're trying to do. Running Back one
will be Joe Mixon. Obviously he'snot practicing, but he did speak about
the difference between him with the Bengalsand the year that's upcoming with the Texans,
and this is mixing and can wename names? No, I'm asking,
(01:25:44):
like, no, No. Imean, I guess it's a narrative
to y'all, but I mean therunning backs that I'll see as supposed to
twenty eight thirty thirty one, thirtytwo day balling right now. So,
I mean, my host is hot, you know what I'm saying. And
I know with you know what thetype of player I am. And I'm
not here to speak for everybody else, but in terms of me, I
(01:26:05):
know for a fact as long asI'm in great position to win, like
it's gonna be night and day comparedto how it was in Cincinnati, you
know what I'm saying. So,like I say, I got I'm very
optimistic with how this offense will beran, how it'll be using this offense,
and in terms of the whole runningback narrative. I mean, like
I said, everybody that I see, I say about like twenty six to
(01:26:28):
about thirty two right now, likeall them dudes is bolling Man. So
you know, shout out to therunning backs and I hope you know y'all
have a hell of the season.Everybody do they thing for real? Thanks?
Yeah. So Joe Mixon obviously talkingabout the narrative of him being an
older running back in this league forthe Texans. Last year for the Cincinnati
(01:26:49):
Bengals, he appeared in all seventeengames. He rushed for over a thousand
yards. Receiving, he had let'ssee, three hundred and seventy six yards
out of the backfield, seven yardsper reception, catches fifty plus or something.
Let's see receptions fifty two. He'sa threat. And remember he did
(01:27:13):
a lot of that without his quarterback. Yeah, without Joe Burrow. He
did it with the kid from JakeBregracy of Washington, Jake Browning, who
played well, who played with He'snot Burrow. He played well. So
you now come in with a guywho's closer to Burrow than he is to
Jake Browning in CJ. Stroud andit opens up. It works both ways.
Well, it's a kind of ait's a it's a three prong thing.
(01:27:35):
The offensive line is going to benefitfrom having Joe Mixon in a lot
of different help in the past.Protection and they put defensive guys on roller
skates because he and on their heelsbecause he can run and catch and he'll
thump you coming out of the backfield. Secondly, you're going to help the
quarterback because the quarterback now has thethreat of play action and you don't have
to have him be a hero everyplay to make something happen. He didn't
(01:27:57):
have to be last year. Althoughhe was didn't have to be. They
got better. This roster is better. And the flip side is that c.
J. Stroud's gonna help Joe Mixon. There's going to be some holes
created because everybody's afraid the death ofthat vertical passing game that he has,
and they'll even be more vertical thisyear. It just creates so many great
personnel groupings and mismatches with Joe Mixon. Just please give me the same health
he had last year. If heplays in all seventeen, Joe Mixon is
(01:28:19):
going to have a hell of ayear. Yeah, I look forward to
seeing what he's going to bring tothis offense. Ye. For people who
don't know this, dude's a fullgrown ass man. Now. He is
a beast. You don't last Imean with that. And he's right about
those guys in that twenty seven totwenty eight range. At thirty two,
they're playing some pretty damn good football. McCaffrey ain't half bad, is it.
Oh he's not. Derrek Kay's goingto go in up great Baltimore's run
(01:28:40):
game. I mean, we gotsome players that are that still bringing laying
you out, that got some oldman strength and Mixing's not old, but
he is. He's built and youare going to have to deal with it.
And it's going to be tough ondefenses because the second you decide to
load the box, now you're givingme free reign on the outside and and
and and you can pound the outsidelanes and work the seams. The second
(01:29:03):
you play too high safeties or playthat way, then we're gonna be able
to push it down your throat witha big physical guy. Yeah. Well
pause, but especially in Bobby pushit Bobby, yeah, because he he
will run down down throat with abig physical guy. Yeah, yeah,
yeah, well I noticed he hewell he ain't running in high heels dog,
(01:29:25):
Okay, I mean it is twentytwenty four, so he he'll have
Cleatson. Okay, yeah, Iassure you. Yeah, down someone's throat
with a big physical guy. Yeahgood. Yeah, you don't want to
small You don't want a small guy. Yeah, they'll be physical, but
he don't want to be smaller. You know what I mean, big physical
guy. Yeah, especially in BobbySlovak's offense. Did you call him Slovak?
(01:29:45):
Yeah, that's my favorite. Ican't wait for football season and all
the mispronunciations of of play personnel. There you go, so no but mixing,
there'll be there's some down he'll runningon him bro and he he he
will thump. Yeah, I likeit. I like you're still stuck on
big fish. No, no,no, no, no, I'm just
thinking of Bobby Slovak's offense. Yes, you like to call him Slovak,
(01:30:09):
don't you? It's slowik yah know, but you like to call you like
to miss But we got to dowe do that what I mean, we
can guys like to do with theashos, have fun with it. So
you're gonna call Are you gonna callhim Bobby Slovak? No, I'm gonna
call him Bobby Slowan. You're gonnacall him by his name? Correct?
Yeah, okay, I like it. Yeah. Like Matt Burke is the
defensive coordinator, you're gonna call himMatt coach Burke, coach Burke. Yeah,
this is the excitement. We're tryingto temper it. I know,
(01:30:29):
training camps here, I cannot wait. Maybe call him Miko, I can't.
I can't wait. Coach Ryant.Does anybody even call him coach Ryan?
It feels like everybody calls him toMiko. Yeah, I think so.
Maybe the young guys coach. MaybeI don't know, I'd call him
coach. But there you go.But if you play, if you were
a you know, a guy's young, so you feel like he should call
him to Miko. But I don'tthink he cares either way. He's coaching
(01:30:53):
him up a little respect. Whatwas that Hall of Fame game? Isn't
it on the first? It'll bea it's next week, isn't it.
Yeah, it's on the first,So coming up on a week away?
Yep, Oh buddy, I'm pop. We're gonna be tailgating. Yeah,
I wouldn't think you're gonna see usseven play very much, probably not.
I doubt it. I don't thinkhe's gonna play. Yeah, I wouldn't
play him. I'm I'm I don'tneed a lot from him in the preseason.
(01:31:13):
Thank you for that's gonna be themoney money Mills, Baby, have
at it. Let's go Tim Boyleget that backup, raady to go Tim
Boyle time too, that's will You'reon Tim Boyle time. Hey, let's
go, man, I mean he'sfootball keep him already. Come, let's
go do it. But seven isgonna have a fun year this year.
Wait to see it. He sureis, and they added to his offensive

We want to change it to whiteboy Wednesday and then on Friday Friday.
Isn't that God to redundant Wednesday? What he'll billy Wedsday? Is that we
want to call it at all? It's got to be playing. You gotta
love. So what do we getstwestern Wednesday? What do you want to
(01:34:10):
call Tuesday? I didn't I don'thave anything. Why would you want to
change Wednesday? I don't know, just for almost, you know, just
for giggles. Yeah, really, you don't need you don't need to change
which works just to we're constantly adjusting. Don't don't get the cut Master's way,
triple triple. You ever want tohave a white boy? He has
(01:34:32):
got white boy Wednesday. It's Monday, Tuesday was Thursday Friday. He has
to deal with two average white guysto basic white guys every day. That's
a good point. So what whatdo you what? Hey? Why don't
we add another basic white guy day? Make it on Saturday? We got
basically work on Saturdays, right, basic white dudes all over the place.
We don't get an one. Wedon't need basical white dudes. Look at
(01:34:54):
your TV? Is that not abasic white guy for you on TV right
there, just like a dame,a pity basic white guy, white hair
spray in right you? Yeah,a little hair spray gel. Danny's got
going on. I mean they're allover the place. Why do we need
another basic white guy day? Okay? And it's pretty sweet and you can
listen to another basic white guy.Dan Matthews got Saturday another basic am loaded
(01:35:18):
with him. There you go loaded, So why do you need another basic
white guy day? Triple? Hehas to deal with it all the time.
I'm sure he rolls his eyes.Man. See, we got the
culture here on on our show, right culture Club. That's what I'm saying,
because because after this it's Connor basicwhite guy as it gets Dan Matthews
(01:35:38):
another basic white guy. Connors sowhite, he's he's translucent. Okay,
my man got a fresh edge upthough. He saw that, did I,
Buddy Triple? You see the freshedge up he got? Boy must
have stepped outside over the weekend,Gordy. He had like a mohawk thing
kind of looks basic white guy.Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, so no
(01:36:00):
Western Wednesday works. Who's more ofa basic white guy? Adam Clinton,
Adam Wexler or Matt Thomas just asking. Okay, we're walking through Sioux City,
Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa. You're walking down the street four hundred
Matt thomas Is are walking down thestreet. Ward on the street is him
(01:36:23):
and Adam Wexler excuse me, Adamplant look alike, shaving whatever you want
to call him? Yeah, wellthen truth, I love them all.
I mean, you're not giving memuch to choose from him, the basic
white guys. We have you everseen wex Is walking out with wex videos.
He's got his hat backward, hairgoing through the hat. That's not
(01:36:45):
basic white guy. That's a littlethat's a little riz step in his game
of who's there. They're load. We're loaded with basic white guys. That's
why we got the cultures one ofthem, right. No, it fits
in too. I mean, justa basic white guy fits in. So
(01:37:06):
no, white boy Wednesday is whatyou're saying. We got white boy Wednesdays.
We live it every time we comein here. Yeah, white boy
Wednesday is, I mean, butI don't think we need to change up
our Western Wednesday. It fits.Okay, what do you want to do?
You want to why are you tryingto disrupt an Apple car? I
don't. I don't even know whatwe would do for you're the cut masters.
(01:37:26):
If we are, I wouldn't know. I would have to go home
and think about Yeah, I wouldhave to get I would have to prep
for the cuts tomorrow. Right. Why do we have to go prep?
Yeah? Don't disrupt this flow?Dog? Why do we have to call
it? Disrupt the apple cart? Why can't you disrupt the orange car?
What's an apple cart? A cartthat has a bunch of apples in it?
(01:37:47):
Is there actually an apple cart?Oh? Yeah, you've never seen
one of you ever going to amarket on the wint. Haven't gone to
farmers market, a farmer's market.I never have an apple cart, you
see. Yeah, but why, hey, don't disrupt the apple cart?
Why can it be? Hey?Why did you disrupt the the grapefruit cart?
Dude? Okay, you know whatI'm saying. I don't get it.
(01:38:10):
Why can't it Why is it alwaysgot to be one fruit? Well?
This I know it goes to asaying, so, yeah, this
is a The precise idiom dates backto the late seventeen hundreds. Yeah,
I miss I missed that time frame. Spoil carefully laid plans as in,
don't upset the apple cart? Right, I know what it means. But
where was it? Where was itsorigin? Well in the seventeen hundreds.
(01:38:32):
Yeah, I had my hat backturned to turn backwards. I was dead
before then. Okay, well Sean, you were not born yet, so
happy. Yeah, but I youwe don't want to disrupt? Can you
disrupt a grapefruit cart? Grapefruits outthere next to the car? Yeah?
Seeing it? When you go tothe grocery store, you see all those
(01:38:53):
they're not carts, but you seethey're setting up there. You know,
you peck, you pick one andlike four of them fall on the ground,
right, Yeah, and you geta bruise on them. How much
is a grapefruit these days? Idon't know, but I love I love
seventy four. I'll eat the accentof a dead buzzard for a grapefruit,
pink grapefruit with salt on it.What I'll eat the ass end out of
a dead buzzard to get a pinkgrapefruit with salt on it. I could
(01:39:15):
just get you. I can literallyjust get you a grapefriu. You don't
have to eat anyone's. But that'show much that's how much I like it.
Dead buzzard. Okay, assend outof a dead buzzard, right,
Yeah, yeah, I got it. I can just go buy you a
grapefruit, I know, but Iprefer to eat the acid of a dead
buzzy. That's how I'm not good. That's how much I love you.
Don't have to it's so that meansbasically saying, man, you're really hungry
(01:39:36):
for a grapefruit. Right, youcan say if somebody says no, you're
not allowed to have that. I'mnever get dude for a piece of pizza.
Right now, I eat the assend of a dead buzzard. That
means like craving pizza. Right,But you're talking about eating the ass end
of a buzzard, meaning that's Ilove pizza so much i'd be willing to
do. I need to say itagain. No, you're not contemplating this.
(01:39:58):
It's really okay. When you sayand tell me someone you're so hungry,
man, I'm so hungry I couldeat a horse. You know how
people say that? No, you'venever heard that phrase your You've never heard
anybody say that. No, doyou get them? You? You we
need to we need to get yousome schooling. What do you mean,
I mean, I'm so hungry Icould eat a horse. You never heard
anybody say that, No, younever heard anybody say, well, you
(01:40:20):
probably never. Everybody's like, I'mtold I'd eat the acid out of a
dead buzzard. Why don't you likereference someone rather than a dead buzzard?
Like that's just well, it's justhorrible. But you have to understand you're
not getting this. No I getit. Let me explain to you.
No, no, I get it. You don't need a horse, and
you don't need a dead buzzard.Correct the point or the ass of it.
(01:40:42):
The point is that your food, you're craving something was as much as
you eat. Breakfast's craving if youhave to skip breakfast three days in a
row. Right, So did seanto have a breakfast burrito? Right now?
I'd crawl ten miles over broken class, right, Okay, so there
you got it. No, buthe wants you to chow a dead buzzard's
ass. But my point is isthat when you're that hungry, you'll do
(01:41:04):
anything for some victuals. Do youknow anyone that's actually crawled over broken glass?
Yes? I watched a Bond movieone time, but it was fire,
yeah, and walking on fire.Delligator. I'm sure Jason too.
Oh yeah, is there any doubt? Maybe? Uh? When David Carridine
was doing the Kung Fu movies, come from Bruce Law, I bet you
Bruce Lee ass. Yeah, JackieChan, I bet you. I bet
(01:41:26):
you Bruce Lee ass. Bruce Leedo anything, he damn will want it.
You know who probably didn't do it, Steven Seagal, Now Chuck Norris.
When Chuck Norris decided to walk overbroken glass, the glass quit breaking
and it got it fixed. That'show you know. That's how impressed he
started to walk towards the glass andthe glass went unbroken. Really, that's
how much Chuck's got pulled. Yeah, okay, so you've never heard anybody.
(01:41:49):
Man, I'm still hungry. Icould eat a horse. No,
dude, I gotta that's that's theequivalent of you saying that you've never eaten
a cheeseburger. All I'm saying isClay Walker and he to sing the national
anthem. That's how we got onthis tangent. And I said, go
get me the king because the Texanshave sold out of there. I want
a super Bowl champion. Huh,you might as well get the king put
(01:42:09):
them together. If George Strait singsit, you're headed to where you want
to go. So yes, okay, Field of Dreams. So if you
have George straight by the way,I want to thank and I'm going to
do a video. I want tothank the people from new Whiskey from Field
of Dreams. Whiskey, dude, they sent me some bottles. It's a
new whiskey coming out for I'll giveyou all the information. I just wanted
(01:42:31):
to thank them publicly, and I'lldo it on social media. Boy,
is that whiskey good? And withthe Field of Dreams, it's a perfect
timing baseball Field of Dreams. I'llgive you the origin of how they did
it and why. But man, they sent me a bunch of bottles and
I can't thank them enough. Itwas frigging out. It's awesome, the
bottles awesome and the taste goes downway too smooth. You know, he's
a good thing. You're talking aboutSuper Bowl aspirations. Yep. The Athletic
(01:42:58):
just released their first power Ring pretraining camp edition. Can't wait to hear
him? Where are the Where arethe Abbot? Say the Astros, where
are the Texans fall? Let's talkabout it. Next Sports Talk seven to
eighty. The Sewn Salisbury Show continuedrolling right on through with great guests and
hardcore inside analysis and a lot oflasts, which we like to do.
We like newte every day. Astrosget beat by Seattle. Seattle Astros take
(01:43:23):
the Seattle series two to one. They get beat by Oakland last night,
four oh gets shut out. Thinkgot eight hit last night. Raghetti was
a mid last night, but stilllove his toughness, Ate up six innings
and now they got game two today. Important. I don't want to hear
trap series. I know that you'reright, and Todd Kallis and Blummer mentioned
it last night. Could be becauseof the Mariners and the Dodgers. But
(01:43:45):
you can't get caught into that ifyour championship aspirations when you are tied for
first place got help. Last night, Angels beat the Mariners, Trade deadline
approaching. Who will it be?Big wow factor? You guys can answer
this as well. Matter of fact, we heard Steve Sparks talk about it.
We've talked about Dana Brown's talked aboutit. What is it going to
be? Is it gonna be midwhere it's like, eh, not a
lot of impact, but we gota body. Is it going to be
(01:44:06):
do nothing at all? Or isit gonna be Oh, it's gonna sting.
But we got a wow factor dealwe needed it. Maybe it'll be
wild factor that you're bummed you gaveup somebody that you didn't want to give
up or two. But will itbe worth the wow factor? You get
to make a run of the WorldSeries And wouldn't it be the most unlikely
year for a World Series? Reasonwhy? All the injuries and two four
(01:44:28):
starting pitchers, and even if youthrow JP France in there, the injuries
to him Virlin at some point intime. Guys have been banged up all
over the place. Kyle Tucker's beenout a significant amount of time. You
start to look at it and say, getting through the Abreu stuff, you
start in their start and here theyare tyed first place. This may be
as impressive as any if they getto the World Series and could take this.
(01:44:49):
I know we're a ways away,but I'm already thinking that they may
not be, but I am That'swhy you can't lose games to the Oakland
A's even though they've scored a lotof runs the last month, and they've
got great back into the bullpen. But I got news for you. They
have got to take care of theirbusiness. Quit thinking about the dodge.
I'm not saying they are. Ifthey are, take care of Oakland first.
You got two more there, andyou don't want those two to be
(01:45:09):
the reason that you're chasing or ina wild card. Oh my gosh,
the wild card coming into play, and we didn't take care of our business
coming out of the All Star break. This team's too good for that.
Let's get out to Mark and Humble. Mark. Welcome in, man.
How you doing all right? Man? I'm so hungry I could eat a
horse. Thank you. Hasn't heardyou? Hasn't heard that? My point
(01:45:30):
is you've heard my co host.Yeah, my co host. You hadn't
heard it, But that can't surpriseyou. He doesn't even know who led
Zeppelin. No, I'm kidding you. What's on your mind? Who's pitching
tonight for Houston. I'm gonna tellyou right this second, while you're making
your point, Houston is throwing.Give me two seconds here and I'll have
it for you, my man.Hang on a second. It takes time
(01:45:54):
to load sometimes. And whether Igot the Astros. They are throwing Jake
Bloss tonight, he will he's pitching. Bloss will pitch tonight in game two
of this series, and another chancefor the for the young fellow to make
an impression. So he's on themountain. Yeah, I thought Hunter Brown,
but he might be going tomorrow.Yeah, I would imagine, you
(01:46:15):
know, And they're trying to worktheir way into a longer rotation, but
they're trying to find you know, fifth started let alone to six. But
we always we always look forward toHunter Brown going out because he's been lights
out, you know, last year. He's been pitching like a stud man.
And Traumer's next. But he mustpitch the opening game at home.
Let's see, they open against theDodgers on Friday. That's exactly right at
(01:46:38):
home, and then they got Pittsburghafter the Dodgers. So there you go.
But it will be Blost tonight inOakland, and they need this one.
They need to go out and generatesome runs and get drive some people
in. But there you go,they have it. They got to get
that offense going, no question.Yeah, all right, Dan, we'll
hang up and listen, appreciate you, Mark, thank you. We're so
hungry for a victory. We couldeat a horse and even and Brian doesn't
(01:46:59):
know that yet. He does nowthough, Dodney triple There you go.
Let's get to Chris and Jersey Village. Chris, what's up? Welcome in
match? Yeah, guys, goodmorning. You know, trap game,
trap series. Oakland last couple ofyears has played the astros kind of okay,
I mean I remember, I thinkit was two years ago, right
around the All Star Game, Oaklandswept us out there. Yea, more
(01:47:24):
like what's going on they? Youknow, so Oakland, you know,
everyone talks about there's no fans there, blah blah blah whatever. You're right.
If we're a championship team, wegot to take care of business.
So, you know, I don'tthink they've forgotten that Oakland swept him out
there, you know, and ourrookie given a keeping him to four runs.
(01:47:46):
I'll take that every day. Iwill take that. It's on the
offense to support him, and hewasn't even at his best last time.
I'm with you. I mean,he ate up some innings. You've gotta
you can't win a game not scoringany runs. I mean, you've got
to give him at least a chance. You are one hundred percent right.
I think Rigette's going to be areally, a really over the over the
course of time. I think he'sgoing to be a grinder and a really
(01:48:09):
good pitcher. I do, andI think going through that, and you
know he'd do his job when youwhen you give up four on the road
and Oakland's been scoring at a rapidpace the last month, so they are
scoring runs, but you got tohelp him out a little bit. So
yes, that was on the offensecompletely and leaving runners in scoring position.
You're a one hundred percent correct.And Sean, I have a theory of
(01:48:30):
why pedro Leone hasn't been called upto the big league and Brian didn't mention,
uh more options. I think thatcould be part of it. But
you know, he's an older playerwho's just now kind of getting it together.
I think he's twenty six years old, so he's been in the minors
a little bit. I could bewrong on that, but I believe he's
older. But you know, rightnow he's a brand new shiny Ferrari on
(01:48:53):
the showroom floor and Triple A.He's killing it down there, and you
don't want to risk taking that Ferrariout and exposing him to big league pitching.
Well, when do you, though, when do you, Chris?
I mean when when do you?I mean injury and right field? I
know you want to get little Perfitoat bats as well. And Jake Myers
(01:49:14):
has played good baseball, du Bondsplaying all over the place. Jake,
I mean, uh uh, McCormickis struggling. So when do you,
I mean, when do you takeout of the garage. You didn't buy
it. You didn't buy a Ferrarito let it sit and become a classic
car twenty years later. At leastyou got to get some mileage on it,
right, Well, I feel likethey had a Ferrari next to you
know, Pedro and you know, and and the outfielder that's out there now,
(01:49:41):
uh low Perfedo. Right, sothey decided to go with that Ferrari,
you know, and give him ashot. And I like, I'm
greedy. I'm greedy, Chris.I'd like I'd like four. I want
I want four of them, brother, and I want them all to start
the engine to go right and rightnow with Chaz, he hasn't played the
much coming out of the All Starbreak, and so you're trying to hide
(01:50:02):
him keep his trade value up ashigh as possible. So for him,
it's kind of the same thing.Or you don't. You don't want him
to get any worse than what healready is. If he is going to
be some trade value, yeah,I won't be surprised if he's out of
if he's in another uniform next week, will you, Chris, No,
sir, Yeah, I'm sorry you'veasked Dana this, but I would just
(01:50:25):
to ask him again, why haslow perfido and I had any time at
first base? I would rather seehim than us pick up Diaz. I
don't know who who went off theroster, Chris, I asked him that
for him. Yeah, din meaninterrupt I asked you that. We got
to go to break, but beforeyou go, I asked Dana Brown that
and I asked him and he goes, well, he'll take some ground balls
(01:50:45):
at first base. I said, okay, five years from now, who's
Joey loperfieda where you see him?He goes, he's an outfielder. So
that and he didn't hesitate. Wasn'tlike, well, maybe he said he's
an outfielder. When I asked himwhere he'd be in five years, that
he's an out So I don't thinkyou're gonna get it. He may get
it once in a while, butI don't think they view him at that
position and they view him as aas an outfielder. So but you're you're
(01:51:09):
right, there's a there's other otherbodies that maybe you say, well,
let's give him a little run.But I don't expect McCormick i to be
on this roster, which may bethat clear spot for, you know,
to give paedri leone run. Hell, both of them may be gone or
somewhere else next week. If you'regoing to give away what is playing great
baseball at the minor league level.Chris, thanks man, great stuff.
(01:51:30):
It's Sports Talk seven ninety coming onback the Sean Salisbury Show with Brian with
Tripoli with you. It's seven onethree two one two five seven ninety.
We are delving in and I'm curiouswhat you guys think. What kind of
splash is a trade deadline? We'llget more Texans in the nine o'clock hour.
What kind of splash do you expectat the trade deadline? A small
one where it's not a big splashwhere they've got a ten because when you
(01:51:51):
jump into the water off the divingboard, you don't want any splash.
Is it the mid one where akid does kind of a like a twelve
year old does a you know, jump in and gives you the old jump
in. What is that called,Brian when they jump in and the cannonball?
I was gonna say, a bellyflop. You don't want the belly
flop? Or is it the fourdudes that weigh four hundred pounds jump in
(01:52:11):
and give you the big cannonball atthe same time where that splash makes a
big splash for the astros. We'lltalk about it next and you tell us
which one it is. Sports Talkseven ninety Sean Salisbury show continues to continue.
So it's Rain and its ass offr Yeah, even though Rain doesn't
have an ass goes back to whatI'm saying. If Rain did have an
(01:52:35):
ass, you'd probably you were hungryenough. That would be a dead buzzard.
Okay, huh interesting, huh.Yeah. How you feeling this morning?
Feel pretty good? Great, fantastic, no prep this morning? Yeah,
I prepped back on a bit backon my regularly plant schedule, drinking
lots of water. Agle Freya, are you a room temp agle frea guy
(01:52:58):
or a cold agle in the Morning'sI'm cold? It can't be cold agule
for you because that's redundant too, correct. Yea cold cold in the morning.
Yeah, what do you mean, like in the afternoon, you're like,
there's nothing better waking up at fouro'clock in the morning and knocking down
twenty ounces of cold ass water.Yeah, wake your ass up. But
you're so like in the afternoon youdon't like cold water? It's all right?
Really? Yeah? Interesting? Takekind of hot, not hot hot,
(01:53:21):
like hot, kind of hot, like just a hot. Take a
little bit, and you know,I mean I like it cold all the
time. Cold equal cold, okay, cold blooded? So yeah, I'm
actually warmer, cold as ice sixtythree degrees at the crib. What yours
cold as ice? And well I'mwilling to sacrifice our love. Yeah,
(01:53:45):
yeah, there you go. Dave, the group Triple E. You don't
know is a say it is acorner? Right, okay? Really zact
love you? Yeah? There yougo? Yeah, seven, Joseph,
what's up? Good morning? Howy'all doing it? Okay, awesome,
(01:54:11):
how about you. I'm all right, I want to ask you a question.
I've got one course than that comingof course of my baseball is well,
a player, he's for the cycle. Don't they normally win the game?
And the uther coming and want tomake I believe chance, but coming
will be the first person they gettraded from the outfield. Thank you and
have a great date. He was, well, just thank you. That
(01:54:33):
was crisp and to the point. This point was about the cycle. What
do you say, hit in thecycle? Don't you normally win the game?
Yeah? Oh well yeah, you'dyou'd like to hope. So the
problem is if somebody else, ifyou're the only one that hit for you
mean, I don't even know howmany hits they had that day, but
hit for the cycle. But theygot a little more clutch hitting that day,
(01:54:55):
right, and pitching how many?I wonder what the record is for
a team when a player hits forthe cycle. I bet it's not overwhelming
that you win because you get moreat bats. I mean, I don't
die is there any correlation. It'sa good question by Joseph. Let's see
good question. See if I canfind that stat they got stats for all
kinds of stats. I'm with himon this. I do believe Chas mccorman.
(01:55:19):
Yeah, who Chas mccorman that guy, Yeah, Chas McCormick. Yeah,
I think he. I don't thinkhe's going to be in an Astro's
uniform second half season. Chasy Fizznow being traded to the Chicago Cup.
Do you think he's gone? Yeah, you do, even though it's I
mean, the values dropping a littlebit. Who for who? Chazy Fizz?
(01:55:43):
You are a You are a whackjob mat I I am, Yeah,
You're you're every bit. You're atstep in step with me. I
called into the A team yesterday. You're one of those guys. No,
no, no, I was sittingshow and then you call into another show
I was. I had just gotsee. I got a problem when I
go grocery shopping. Oh, I'llsolve it when I go what DJ revolves
(01:56:06):
it? Okay, when I gogroceries. I won't know how many people
can relate to this. When Igo grocery shopping, I have a real
problem with stopping to get food onthe way home. I went yesterday.
I bought about ten things, spendone hundred and eighty dollars like I am
being dead ass on that too. It's it's it's ridiculous. But anyways,
(01:56:27):
I digree you got to stop andget food on the way the way home.
Yeah, yeah, I want toin and out now. Hear me
out, though, hear me out. Though, hear me out. Now,
you really stepped up your burger game. Hear me out. So you
chose the number one burger around asopposed to like third or four. So
the way that I got the burgeryesterday, I got mustard ketchup lettuce tomato.
I had them not toast the bun, none of that bs spread,
(01:56:51):
and it was phenomenal. You're preachingto the choir when it comes to fresh
bir But that's the only way thatI'll get it from here on out.
I saw a guy on TikTok thatdid it that way. I've even gone
in there and I've got a lettucebun. Yeah, you go the trifecta,
Patty, you go double trick.I want the double double double double.
Y fries were trash. Yeah, thats like that's the only downfall.
(01:57:14):
Yeah, it seems like the cardboardbox they seven if they had McDonald's type
fries at the in and out.Dude, you could forget it. I'm
not gonna lie to you. Theburger was better, man, Huh,
don't don't do that. Don't don'tdo that. I was gonna say,
it's it's better than good loving thetimes. I'm kidding, That's what I
was gonna say, honest, Okay, that that burger like it melts.
It's like, oh dude, itwas made. It's just awful. Charts
(01:57:38):
right. But regardless of what youb you know, good burger's good burger.
But the fries there, they maybe the worst fries. I think
they are fast food history. Ithink they are. They. I know,
you go animal fries's different, butthey they the fries don't match the
burger. No, not even close. It's awful. Yeah, and it
bugs me. And you're right thecase the thing they served, and I
(01:57:58):
feel like they just they made thefry. It's like you got all this
great burger that people love, andthe line the drive thro will go out
wrapped around take you yeah yet,and great customer service and the people in
there that they turn careers into it. They make good money and it's like
and great benefits. Why are youserving me these fries. What are we
doing? Why are you serving methese fries? You know they're out to
(01:58:19):
the point now I don't even Yeah, I don't even want to order the
fries when I go there. Nowit's like I needed something different. I'd
read they have the lips. Yeah, they may have the worst fries going.
I think they do, sadude, because it doesn't get anywhere. The
gap between the burger and the friesis enormous there. So back to how
did this lead us from the buryingthe lead of you calling into another show?
(01:58:39):
Okay, so it was it waslike five point fifty one and Adam
and Adam were like talking about kindof going through like all of sports and
kind of recapping, and so Icalled in as as TK did you?
Yeah? I only talked for abouttwo minutes, so I know they were
coming up on any of their show. Is that first time? Long time
(01:59:00):
to get your thought why you're talkingabout Lebron James and why you guys aren't
talking about Spencer Arraghetty speaking of it? So I said, I think give
me your thoughts, I'll hang upand listen. I love it, not
one, but two, I loveit. I love it. What about
where's Al in the south side?Where is Al on the south side.
(01:59:21):
I always care about our tom downtown. You know what. I care about
it because what I've said before, when they haven't been around or they go
on vacation, I get it,but I get worried that they're make sure
they're worried that their hell. Icare about them. I do. I'm
being serious. Hang up and getyou take Okay, Yeah, you'll get
Tommy. Okay, I've got Tommygolf trips with his buddies, tom Man
(01:59:45):
energy, Well, I love.I think about all our callers. I
do all the time, especially ourregulars, and I just I haven't heard
from Al. I want to makesure he's healthy. Tell me Al's healthy
out there. You were talking aboutcannonball and splashing. Who's the big splash?
I want to know what what whatwe're to get at the trade deadline.
You're gonna get the one where it'sthe entry where you make no splash
at all, the cannonball with atwelve year old kid that thinks he's got
a big splash but doesn't. That'sthe mid one or the big three of
(02:00:10):
your offensive line buddies, the threehundred plus powders jump off those yeah,
and they all land at the sametime, and the entire pool empties that
kind of wow factor splash for theastros. I want to know which one
people think it is? All right, let's discuss that next right here on
Sportsbock seven. Hey, MEN'ST Clinic, men'ste Clinic dot com, let's talk

we can't talk about yeah you can, Yeah you can't. We should

Salisbury there to USC troupes, longtimefriend, Shawn Salisbury, Brian Lalima,
go Lobos. This is the SeanSalisbury Show. Shawn. You see who's
ready to go on the phone lines. I mean, I don't even know
what to do. I don't either. I don't know where he's been.
Your feelings got hurt, didn't it? Yeah? Yeah, I told you.
(02:03:38):
I wonder if he's healthy. Ishe just golfing and forgot about us
every day? Man fat cat outthere traveling the world. I don't know
where I went, but I loveTom. Tom. Where have you been?
Yeah? What's up? Guys?Where you been well? During the
summer. I take a different jobwith my company, training drivers for the
whole years, so it has keptme, you know, behind the death
(02:04:01):
you know, testing people start right, come for me again. See you
still love us? So I'm againyour home. Still you still love us?
Right? I told Brian, Isaid, you know what, maybe
he's got a different thing to changethe schedule. And we were worried if
you were healthy. Everything. Wejust want to make sure you're good.
Brother. It's great to hear fromyou. I'm all good man. I
listen every day I get a lotof urges to call that standing on the
(02:04:23):
pone when I'm five, Hey,listen, I want to I want to
talk about the big splash for thepresent. I'm gonna start back on May
twenty six. I made twenty sixthe Astros, we're twelve and twenty four.
Since then, they done forty andtwenty four. Now that's a run,
(02:04:45):
and I will put up against anyAstro teams they missed eight years that
we've been rooting to. That.Okay, that's the kind of team we
thought they were going to be andthey went on that run. Now you
talk about getting a big splash,I just don't see it. And I'm
going to be as quick as Ican about it. So you guys can
(02:05:06):
either laugh me out of the buildingor understand what I'm saying. They got
five guys on the forty man rosterthat are marketable right now, and I'll
yell them off, and you know, we can talk about whether I'm wrong
or right. They're number one,Press Me, number two, Low Prafita,
(02:05:30):
number three, Jake Myers, numberfour. We're gonna have to go
with Duban and number five Chad mccony. Now what would where would this team
be without Duban and Jake mikes. So they're going to get rid of those
two, and what would they getThey would get lateral players. It would
(02:05:50):
be a lateral moves. Now lookat you get a picture. I understand
now if you do need a picture. What they got? No cars.
They're on a table with three othergamblers and every gambler sitting on the other
side of the table. No carswere home. They had no chips.
(02:06:11):
Now, as far as Kat McCormickgoes, we need to get this guy.
We own up you And I heardthe other day on the phone somebody
had sent that up. If theysent down for Corman, that's a message
to the rest of the goligue asthey bust confidence right out aad. But
the guy's hitting like twenty, he'slike or for for forty or something along
(02:06:35):
that line. And if the oldguy in the ability and he can played
twenty six, I don't know ifthat's possible, get him up here.
Put him in the line of sore. Not going to trade low Cassito.
So who do they have that's goingto get them anything more than a lateral
movement which is not going to makethem a better team. I think they
(02:06:58):
should stay where they are, maybeto get someone that can get soak up
innings them because he needs somebody.I just don't know. Maybe you bring
up this this guy down on theminers that they put him in the ballpen
so they can watch his pitch counts. I mean, I don't have any
answers. I'm not a general manager, obviously, but I just don't think
they have anything that's going to getthem where they want to go. Tom,
(02:07:24):
I think you. I think alot of people feel the same way
about you that if you're making amove. And we talked to Steve Sparks
and Tom, great to hear fromyou and glad you're doing well with Steve
Sparks said he thinks it's going tobe closer to a bigger splash, and
I almost thought that it would besomewhere in the middle. And Steve's around
the baseball club, but you makesuch a good point. It's glad to
(02:07:45):
hear from you, brother, AndI know Summer gets with all the work
you're doing. But the point ofwould Brian, don't you think most people
lean towards the mid to not ahuge decision. But Steve's around it.
I think he knows what it's goingto take right And Tom, with that,
you talked about those the names inorder that you say have made a
(02:08:05):
difference on the team, and whatare they gonna do that, not a
lateral moved. The question is isit gonna be one of the guys that
you're building around at some point intime, a young guy or that's trying
to build like a low perfedo typeof guy. Right, Yeah, is
it gonna sting like that? Andin order to get a picture you really
want to make a difference, especiallywith the injuries, it may have to
sting more than you wanted to do. You think most people lean towards Tom's
(02:08:28):
take that it's a lateral move,or more towards Steve Sparks take where it's
going to be a bigger move, not what you want, what you think
is gonna have what I think,I think a good majority of people think.
They realize, Yeah, they realizethere's not a lot of pieces to
move. It's gonna take two totango, and if you do, it'll
deplete what you already have. Yeah, you can't deplete the farm system already
(02:08:50):
more than it already is. SoI think people are probably assuming that it'll
be a strategic move rather than abig wow, rather than hey, we're
gonna give up Blue Bob, JakeBloss and pedro Leon for Vlad Guerrero Junior,
Like, that's not gonna happen, and I just don't see it happening.
I think they'll get the strategic move. Essentially, you're not gonna get
(02:09:15):
like a trade deadline where you goand get Justin Verlander like they did last
year. I think you'll get somethingthat helps this team improve the roster,
maybe an Innings Zeter as a pitcher. I'm curious what they might do with
what we heard from John Hayman earlier, like the East sac Paradis guy.
That's a if he's under team controland he can add and play a little
bit of first base, and he'san insurance policy if you don't sign Alex
(02:09:39):
Bregman this offseason, if they tryto go get him, what's it gonna
take to give up? I justdon't know. But I also think that
people lean more on it's gonna bea more strategic, non sexy move than
the big time here and most people. You're trying to milk this as much
as you can because most people alsofeel that Alex Bregman will not be an
astro next year. He's not gonnabe, my opinion, so go.
(02:10:00):
So the question is how all inare you willing to go what kind of
hurt? Is it a bruise,Kyle Tucker bruise? It's that, That's
what I'm saying. But if that'sthe case you're going, then that means
you're going all in that that's apainful one, right, that it's gonna
hurt like that and kid that you'relike, oh, we gave up him
to get this, or is ita couple of arms that are going to
(02:10:22):
give you innings but not give youdomination? I guess is what I'm talking
about. I think it'll be inningseaters, which is gonna hurt because you
could have done that spring training eventhough I know you had injuries. You
know you were counting on guys tocome back, but there are a couple
of early injuries in spring training thatset guys back that you could have gone
out and got a guy like MichaelLorenzen right. So far, Well,
we've had that discussion plenty of times. So it's gonna be uh man,
(02:10:43):
we're gearing up because it's right aroundthe corner. It's what's seven days from
now, I believe right, tradedeadline is exactly was the thirty first thirty
or thirty first, it's next week. Well it's a week. It's a
week twenty today. There you go, five pm Central. That's what I
thought. It's a week from today. So we'll have Dana Brown on the
(02:11:05):
show tomorrow at nine thirty, aswe always do on on Wednesdays. It'll
be the last time we talked tohim before the trade deadline, yep.
And we'll talk to him the dayafter the trade deadline. So gear up.
One thing you're not going to getout of it folks, names,
right, not names that are goingor names that are coming. I think
it's tamping, isn't it. UhYeah, when you mentioned now, it's
not tampering if you mentioned your ownguys' names, but you he wouldn't do
(02:11:28):
that out of respect to your teamand to do that to anybody. But
I would imagine if there's name isgoing to be possibly being moved, that
have the common and I know Danawould, but you have the common courtesy
before it gets out on Twitter lettingthem no. I always believe in that
right before there's oh, by theway, sorry we missed you. You're
getting traded. Yeah. Oh,I already heard it from somebody else.
And I think this organization is classyenough to do that. But somebody's moving,
(02:11:50):
I think, and I think themajority is with you on the mid
thing. Yet I think a lot. Okay, are you willing real quick
to trade? To take a deepbreath and trade somebody you don't want to
trade to get a frontline pitcher? Are you willing to do it? Who
to be it? From White SoxCochet, Let's let's go to breaking.
(02:12:16):
Let's talk about it next, Souse. I still want to hear from fans
as well. Seven one three twopoint two five seven ninety Astros fans call
in, let us know. Doyou think it's going to be sexy or
non sexy the move at the tradedeadline for the Astros? Seven one three
two point two five seven ninety isthe number to join. We'll discuss the
next with Sports Talk seven ninety.Let's talk about Kobe Stevens golf apparel at
Kobe Stevens dot com. You hearme talk about this brand every single day

feel good, play good, KobeStevens golf apparel. Back to it
one, bring the juice, let'sgo. The Sean Sounds Very show continues
most definitely on Sports Talk seven ninety. Yeah. I think I think Triple
he probably pulls. Yeah, hetold us he's got a Chicken Dallas and
(02:14:31):
he's got the Latina Chick that's rightdown the road from here. What's it
called two what's it called zoid bandwidthwith? Yeah, maybe one day TRIPLEY
will hang out with us outside ofwork. Maybe you guys can hang out
with me. Okay, whoa, whoa? That's a young fella getting up
at your Yeah, man, I'llopen my grill. Seven one three seven.
(02:14:54):
All right, ask the Astros fansif you think it's gonna be a
sexy move at the trade deadline ornon sexy move? Is that what we're
calling it as we're calling it,we're bringing sexy back? Well is the
Is there a third one in there? No? So they're non sexy or
sexy? What happens? If it'swhat happens? If it's good looking but
not sexy, there you can beboth right, that's mid right there,
(02:15:15):
right? Or is that what isit? Sexy? Splash? Sexy is
a splash. Non sexy is likea mid move. Okay, now we're
just talking to me. Oh okay, that's just a big fat hell.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.Take it out l right, yeah,
okay, So three things so sexy, non sexy, no move at all.
Roger you're up first. Yeah,it's gonna definitely be non sexy because
(02:15:37):
some of it from Roger. Yourecho is terrible. Man, what are
you doing in the bathroom? No, I'm in office. Well come on,
brother, I'm gonna put you onhold. You gotta get that triply
tell them to get that figured out. Please. How about just Garrett,
what's going on? It's Roger. How are you guys doing good? Garrett?
Where you been man? Yeah?Or what you been doing? Well?
(02:16:00):
You know, I work in thetransportation industry and it's summertime and then
you know, I listened to youall, but it's just so busy right
now. It's hard to call inand check in, you know, so
uh prioritize, dude, screw yourjob. Okay, kidding, I'm high
speed aluminum? Nice? Wow,nice? I like it? Yeah,
(02:16:22):
so wait, real, real quick. What's the difference between aluminum and high
speed aluminum? What about slow speedaluminum? Yeah? Is there a third
one? What if it's a slowspeed aluminums? That mean you're not your
Your aluminum sucks? Ass? Yeah, you drink, you drink. Slow
speed of movement aluminum and high speedaluminum gets thirty thousand feet in the air.
(02:16:45):
Oh, so we're talking about thebig birds. Gotch brother? Okay,
I like your style. Gotay Agood way to describe it. All
right, what's on your mind today? Brother? Good to have you on.
Well, I'm out here weeding rightnow. I have to do what
the wife tells me it's a goodday to listen to you all. Oh,
so you're basically admitting you're somebody's bitchtoday, not the way to start.
(02:17:07):
Every day is a good day tolisten to us, not just because
your wife's would get your ass outthere leaning. I kid, I'm gonna
be somebody's bitch today. No,I'm kidding. That's part of the deal,
all right. You know, yes, trust me, every guy in
the world knows at some point yourass did I watch your ass sucking buttermilk
before? I know he ain't foolingme. Okay, go ahead, but
(02:17:33):
uh, you know, for me, we spent all this time getting from
a losing team up to beyond fivehundred, and I think that chemistry really
holds value throughout the course of theseason, where you know, if you
do an addition let's just say thewhole Jose of Bray you factor, which
is a bad example because he hitone hundred and whatnot. But you know,
(02:17:56):
I don't think you can really findtoo many guys that add instant offense
that is gonna you know, that'sreally gonna show some results to me with
this team. I mean, uh, the one move I want to see
is a free agent addition, aguy that throws ninety eight miles an hour,
has a great slider and a greatbastball. But that's been shot down
(02:18:18):
repeated, you know. And uh, and of course I'm talking about Trevor.
But and I think that's the oneguy that you can add instantly where
you don't really you know, becausehe's a pitcher, and and they kind
of function differently from the rest ofthe team. They throw once every five
days and they do their own thing. But uh, but you know,
(02:18:39):
I just don't really see and unlessyou can find maybe a middle reliever or
you know, uh, that Japanesepitcher in Toronto, I've always liked him.
Trying to the name escapes me rightright, you know, you know,
he's killed the astros. He hasto stuff, and I think you
(02:19:01):
could get him for kind of ayou know, a relatively bargain, and
uh, that's the kind of moveI want to see anything but the offense.
I just don't really think you're gonnafind someone that's gonna rescue it.
I mean, you know, asheresy as this is, I mean,
(02:19:22):
I'm I'm open to trading Kyle Tuckerbecause he hasn't really been there on the
h on the run, and younever know that guy could bring maybe a
crochet in of itself, you know. So and then I think we've got
some outfielders that can really start producing. And of course Bragnant's a different story.
That's my splash move, which isn'ta great one. I get it,
(02:19:43):
you know, for Houston fans. But if you're really talking about,
you know, trying to uh,you know, I guess get the team
different. And but the one areathat I think, uh, you know
that you can forecast that needs tobe stronger is pitch. And we don't
know what Garcia is gonna do.I think, you know, mccohler's I
(02:20:05):
can't really see him coming back andhelping other than maybe middle relief. So
there we gotta we got to getthe break. Brother. We appreciates,
call him many great, Let's geta break. We'll continue this astro discussion
next. The Shawn Salisbury Show continued, asking if it's gonna be sexy non
(02:20:26):
sexy move from you the fans see, Roger, how's that audio? Roger,
I don't know? You tell therewe go? Yeah, much better?
All right? So I think we'reseeing I think we're already seeing the
transition to this non sexy move anduh, you know this is to be
this late the season and you haveguys like the kids and McCormick batting even
(02:20:48):
though it's in the bottom of yourlineup. You're looking for playoffs kind of
kind of vibe, and you're reallynot doing anything with those guys. It's
kind of like it smells of desperation. Mean, if you're if you're the
Astros organization, I think I thinkthe only the only person that anybody fears
with this lineup is Ordan Operas andeverybody else is okay. But it doesn't
really excuse me, doesn't really threatfree in the hearts of any pictures,
(02:21:13):
Uh that I did I see?I mean, especially with that, especially
with that guy with that wipeout, wipeout slider and everybody chasing the sliders now
and the only one that can staydisciplined or Bregman and and Alvage for the
most part, So I don't seethat. Yeah, like I said,
I'm with I'm with y'all, guys. Most of the colleges say that I
don't see the big move coming now, Tucker. Is interesting because they're not
(02:21:37):
really saying much about Tucker's just abunch of uh word salad. Maybe we're
getting from Dana Brown and from thespot up. So I'm not sure what
they're trying to shop him on thedownload or they're trying to uh to uh
uh to to keep him uh fromre injuring or or doing anything worse to
(02:21:58):
his bruise, which I think it'sa burdon leg rather than a bruise.
But I just don't see anything reallyhappening. You've got a guy who do
on the market and in the federalleone who hasn't had any time in the
big leagues yet. So what ifa big league team gonna say about that?
What kind of value they put onthat can't be much. So yeah,
I'm of you, guys. Idon't see much happening. They're they're
(02:22:22):
they're already try some desperation stuff there. I just don't think it's gonna pan
out. So, yeah, theydid well getting into the fight, But
what's gonna happen moving forward? Heknows it's all I got, guys.
Thank you for the call. Rogerstake well more, let's get the I
think Roger right now needs a biggermove and he wants a big move,
right. It sounds like he doesn'ttrust the hitting as much as he does
(02:22:43):
pitching. And did you get thegather the same thing. Yeah, And
also just you talk about Tucker,I don't think they're trying to shop him
around. I just think for whateverreason, this bone bruise is worse than
they tell us. It's not abone bruise. Okay, that's just my
prediction. I mean, I wouldI play a doctor on radio. Sometimes
it's the deepest bone bruise in thehistory of mankind. If it yes,
(02:23:05):
it is, there, you go, there's no question. I just think
I think it's probably a little deeperthan that. I think so just just
a un yeah, I think so. I think. So let's talk to
Felipe. Felipe, good morning, good morning. Tell us that's well.
The trade talks, I did callit yesterday, but it but I you
know, I heard the same thingabout the exact greatest uh trade. I
think that would be a great one. He adds insurance because we're not sure
(02:23:28):
we're gonna sign bragmant back. I'mall for him going. I think he's
gonna be to the anties. Honestly, you know they have the big bugs.
He's gonna go where the money isto take his talents, and that's
fine with me. But like Isaid, Isaac creates as insurance because he
can't play third, that's his mainposition, but he's also playing first.
So who wanted to throw him inthere for the time being to the end
of the season. See what happenswith bregmant. If it doesn't work work
(02:23:50):
out, work out with resigning him, we can just sew him third.
We already have a position to Billthere. But it does bring back that
we do need somebody to put inthat first base Pop type rs was a
good one, you know, Iknow I said that yesterday. That was
a great one for me, Ibecause it hurt. I don't think bringing
back Diaz was a great choice.I mean I don't see. I think
he's just a former shelter of himself, just like a bray you was.
(02:24:13):
But Jamison I did say Jamison's ownwas a good with somebody who was the
fake this face, So that canbe a great one as well. Uh.
I mean, he he hasn't beendoing bad for the Dodgers. I
just feel like he didn't have aJames James Paxton was DFA by the Dodgers.
James Jamison for the Cubs. Yeah, okay, I thought it was
I thought was James So James Paxton. Yeah, that's right. So,
but he did have time with Seattle. I think he did great with Seattle.
(02:24:35):
I under spent time with the Yankees. He faced him in the playoffs
when he was at the Yankees. So, honestly, uh, when we
have an abundance there, I mean, it's pretty pretty much guy. You
get to pick up with Waivers allthe time. But bringing back power,
I mean, I know someone calledhim and said that, and I've said
this on the Matt Thomas Show.Just just stop bringing the guy up.
Man, he's clubhouse cancer. Whosaid it over? You said it over
(02:24:56):
and over and over on this show. The guys at clubhouse cancer. That's
not that's a no it. Butthat's my take on the trades. I
think we can get as the greatestfor a handful of paper perds of hockey
land, honestly. So, Imean, I just want to get your
take on that appreciation about the Bowerthing with all the injuries. If it
ain't happened now, it ain't happening. How much more clear path when it
(02:25:18):
comes to injuries. I mean,a championship caliber team, a free a
guy you could go sign as afree agent, a guy that did the
I mean, you've had injury afterinjury after injury to pitches have and you
still haven't gone after him. Ithink you're I think that answer is pretty
clear. He ain't gonna be aHouston Astro play at all, and he
may not play anywhere else because again, desperate teams, wouldn't you have sign
(02:25:41):
him by now? Yes, there'ssomething else that they know, whether I
don't know it. Hell, I'mjust looking. I mean, there's certain
things that it's not coincidence. He'sgreat, he's he's got good stuff,
and nobody signed him. It's notcool. I'm not saying these guilt.
I don't know the legal side ofit that still being looked at. I
know what he's been cleared of.I don't know the legal side going forth.
(02:26:03):
I don't, but I can tellyou this, thirty baseball teams want
no part of it so far,and the ones here all the open space
of pitching, trying to get anotherstud pitcher, even with his talent,
nobody's gone there. So sums up, and you would think that if it
was gonna happen, it would alreadyhappen. It ain't happening here, no
(02:26:24):
anywhere else exactly right, not happenedanywhere as far as the other gigs go.
Dude, there there's there's still there'sthere's pieces to the puzzle that are
still on the floor that need pickedup and put put on the puzzle that
that aren't aren't. Whether it's injury, a position, or another starting pitcher,
whatever that is. Hell, youmay need more than you know what
(02:26:46):
I mean, maybe more than two. It may be three pieces to the
puzzle. I just don't know theyhave enough to move to go make those
pieces work here this year right now, unless you mortgage some of your great
players that you already have in thefront or guys you expect to be great
in the mind, and maybe ayoung player. And we know who that
young player is that people want tocove it. It's on the roster right
now. So if they you mentionedgreat players or they think are going to
(02:27:07):
be great players are in the minorleagues, well, patrol Leon's swinging it
really well. And if you're notgoing to give him run here is it
time to part with him. Yes, yeah, if it helps you a
good picture, big leaguer, yeah, absolutely, a solid big leader,
yes, agreed, Yeah, absolutely. All right, let's get to the
final segment of the show. Let'slook ahead to the game two of the
(02:27:31):
series tonight. Astros and A's Astrosneed to get back in the win column.
I'm struggling with seeing Sean. Canyou help me out? I can,
so can Doctor Jeff wits It atWitsit Vision dot Com w H I
T S E T T. It'snot just your Lasik procedure, it's just
your total care. When I wentto get lace again, you always get
concerned. Who doesn't man, whodoesn't get concerned over what's it going to
(02:27:52):
do? What about that? Alaser on your eyes? Is it invasive?
That would be the thought. ButI can tell you this, talk
to somebody who's done it and goneto doctor Whitst. It was for me,
did it perfect? It was notinvasive. I was not on the
table long, recovery was quick, and I was seeing better than I had
in years. I mean I'm talkingabout decades, which was good for me,
(02:28:13):
and everything that he walked me throughcame to fruition and I'm so glad
I did it. You know,I think was I should have done it
earlier because I don't like glasses orcontacts and I wanted to have that vision.
Whether it's golf, whether it's seeingat a ballgame, whether it's no
longer squinting, all those things thatyou want to get rid of, and
now you can. And doctor JeffWitz, it's there. He's an expert,
guys, and we have him inour own hometown. A lot of
(02:28:33):
times you got to fly somewhere toget an expert in some kind of care,
not the iecare expert ncare and lasikprocedure. And he's my guy.
He can be your guy too. It's a Witsavision dot Com seven one three

(02:28:54):
tease. At the end, Witsvisiondot Com, we want to win.
Sean Salisbury continues on seven ninety Thatplace is packed, man. The season
tickets have been sold out for thetwenty twenty four season. That coming from
the Texans organization this morning. Alot of hype for the team this season.
(02:29:15):
One thing will go through tomorrow morning. Is there some power rankings that
have been released by the athletic thatwere this morning and the Texans where do
they land? We'll discuss that tomorrowmorning here on the Shawn Salisburg. Sha'll
also have Dana Brown, Ashro's generalmanager, will join us at nine point
thirty, a week away from thetrade deadline, So tomorrow will be the
last time that we talked to himprior to the trade deadline. As it
(02:29:37):
is next Tuesday, crazy trade deadlineor All Star break? Here and gone
already trade deadline a week away footballseason getting ready to be here as well.
I mean, my goodness, man, the summer's just flying by.
What happened to the dog days ofsummer? I don't ely feel like those
are around anymore. It's summer juststarted. Yeah, there is no dog
(02:30:00):
days summer, right. It's agreat point. They're pretty much poodle days,
even dog days any No, nota big poodle guy, You're not,
are you poodly yapper? For you? Too much yapper for now?
I just you know, what's theobsession with one of those ugly ass little
dogs that are like real expensive? Are they Frenchies. What the hell is
(02:30:22):
the obsession with those ugly ass dogs? The people my aparment complex, actually
multiple aparment complexes around me, there'slike nineteen of them. They're really they're
really uh, they're hideous, butthey're cool when they're puppies. But they
all dogs are cool when they're puppies. But they do grow up to be
they do grow up to be adultdogs. What do you think they're but
ugly? They're ass ugly, They'rethey're ugly. Sometimes the ugly are the
(02:30:43):
cooler, right, No, no, absolutely not. I don't have one
and I love dogs, but dude, come all, don't have one?
Do you think every old babies arecute babies? Said there? Because you
hate the Yeah, they're all everybody'sugly as a baby, you think so?
Yeah? Absolutely, like the Yeah, they just take a dump on
(02:31:05):
you know, with you you can'tyou have kids. You can't even handle
changeing the diaper canyon you never changed. I wouldn't do it, you know,
I never will. Kiss my assyou ain't doing it. No,
So you're down on Frenchies. Ihate the kids, hate the FM kids.
And back to uh, what wereyou saying about? Oh, it's
(02:31:28):
a summer, yeah, summer.Yeah, you're right, But whatever happened
to those? Yeah? What didit happened to? Dog days? They
don't exist anymore. For you know, we'll be we'll be bellied up at
the crib dog Yeah, we willbe college football dog days. Do you
realize school like it's already started.I know it's like right, like in
Arizona they're back to school, arethey really? Yes? Damn they start
(02:31:50):
early last week in Arizona. Yes, what is that? I don't think
so, dude. I think they'reout in mid May and do it?
I was juned, like I earlyfirst week of junetil after Labor Day.
We've talked about that. The dogdays of summer they no longer exist.
And for football, dog days ofsummer don't exist. You want to why
training camp's over before it starts?Yeah, you blink and you've got two
(02:32:11):
and a half three weeks and it'slike, okay, we got it in.
Let's go. So that didn't happen, So get it in while the
