Shocking news broke in the sports world yesterday centering around the NFL particularly, as teams in the league waste no time in trading and preparing rosters for the rest of the season into the postseason. Yesterday morning news broke that the Raiders traded Devante Adams to the New York Jets in what looks to be another reunion for Rodgers and Adams. Not too far long, the Texans also jump in the trade trend by sending running back Cam Akers to the Vikings in exchange for a 2026 seventh round pick. Prior to the two blockbuster trades, another trade broke out with the Cleveland Browns trading Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills now alongside Josh Allen. With these trades occurring midseason with a lot of games left, should the Texans be looking to pickup DeAndre Hopkins to increase roster depth?

Speaker 1 (00:01):
The Seawan Salisbury show continued.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
So with that movement yesterday in the NFL read an
article last night, perhaps the Texans could maybe get involved
with adding another weapon for their offense.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Do you think there is any chance, any chance?

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Or do they even need to try to make a
move to go get DeAndre Hopkins?

Speaker 3 (00:28):
The hop Well, I can tell you this. It ain't
gonna cost much. Not, No, you're not gonna do that's
so what are you going to give up? A fifth
round pick? Maybe a fifth round pick. It's not gonna
cost much other than the money he's making. You're not
giving up a lot of assets if you want. Now,
if he's the best available of the I don't know
who else somebody's gonna make available at white out. If

(00:50):
he's the best available to go get, why not inquire
about him? But in truth, if Nicocollins is really truly
back in three weeks, and you know, dude, I'm when
it comes to offensive football and the greediest fool on
the planet I want. I want to score, score, score
and have fifty of them.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
Is the room for DeAndre Hopkins? No, there's not.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
And in truth, as good as he's been, I don't
know if he's a Hall of Famer, but he's gonna
get there are gonna be people that think he is right,
and maybe he is. I have to look at his
overall numbers. That's not right now, not important. He's been
really good and a pro bowler, and at at one
point in time was one of the three best receivers.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
In this league. He was unbelieved, especially when he was everything.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
I'm just sitting here thinking, Okay, he's not better than
Collins at this stage.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
He's not better than any any three of them.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
I just to me, and that's no disrespect to DeAndre Hopkins.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
He's a third probably right now on this team. Now
that's listen.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
If you said I'll give you a sixth round pick
for him and he comes here, I don't know why.
As long as he understands the role that he may
catch seven balls one day and then the next week
he might be shut out. He's a hell. Like I said,
I'm not looking at the lifetime achievement. He's a you

(02:14):
would you only why would you part with mister Tennessee
and Tennessee needs weapons themselves? Why would you part with him?
Why he's not the same player, but with C. J. Stroud,
he might become close to he'll be better here, but
I just don't know.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
I guess.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Excuse me, so I'm on the same page with you,
like is there room?

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Probably not.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
But one thing they mentioned in the article, which I
do agree on, is and we've talked about it tons
of times, too soft tissue injuries.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
They last and they nag you. They nag you the
whole year if you're not careful. So it's a great
insurance policy. He's a guy who's capable of being a
number one, But on this thing, when you walk into
the building reputation as you number one, the truth is
you're like the third or fourth guy here. Now, if
I could ballhog him for a sixth round, I wouldn't give.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
Up a second or third round pick for him. No,
I don't think.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
Hey, I hate to say, I know people don't. I
would not do it. I'm keeping that asset. But you're
telling me I get something after the fifth round for
DeAndre Hopkins, and I can have him here as not
only an insurance policy, but a guy who read zone
and you know those things that just add another weapon
to expand the field.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Uh. I don't have a problem with it.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
I mean the old regime, nobody's here, no nobody, and
DeAndre hopkins career speaks for itself. But if you say
sean third round pick, Nope, I'm good. I'm gonna trust
that the Nico Collins soft tissue will be okay. But
if you say sean, uh, sixth round pick and that's it,
sixth round pick for DeAndre Hopkins, Oh, now I have

(03:46):
to listen, you'd be an idiot. Not too But I
don't know how. I don't know how much they're going
to inquire about him. I got news for you right wide.
Receive raint of problem here, that's not an issue. So yeah,
I bryno, as I like to call you sometimes, I'll

(04:06):
take him fifth round after the fifth round. But put
it this way, he may be a want, he's not
a need.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
Yeah, he's not a need. How's that? Yeah, there's not.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
I just know if you told me I could have
got Davanta Adams for a third and the conditions are
going to be difficult to get to the number two,
So you're gonna give a third round pick for him?
I would have I th at this stage of the game,
DeVante Adams over DeAndre Hopkins. Yeah, as far as player
goes and you know, then you can have it. The
argument would be more Amari Cooper DeAndre Hopkins. Who's who's

(04:36):
a bigger difference maker?

Speaker 1 (04:37):
Now?

Speaker 3 (04:37):
DeVante Adams is a much bigger difference maker than both
of them. When I say at this stage of their career,
but you know a lot of times coming back home
where he started, you can revitalize a lot of things.
And listen Hopkins and no, Hack, you're not forty. He's
a player. He not the same guy was when he
first got here. But then again, who is at that
stage their career. But he may end up being a
really hell of a player with a better quarterback He

(04:57):
hadn't had one. Kylersman was up and down in Tennessee.
They I mean, they're all over the map with their
quarterback situation. It'd be pretty cool to have a guy
like him. And in truth, even when Watson was here
and catching passes from from Hopkins, Stroud's a better player. Yeah,
he just wishes he had still some of that five
years ago. Hopkins. I mean that's that all that same

(05:20):
go and he makes listen, what's he thirty two thirty one?
I think that's just over thirty years old, not old,
but the age is going to prevent it from being
one of those where you got to give up a
second round pick for four year Yeah, there you go,
So you got three good years of him. Yeah, and
with this quarterback bring out the best in you. Yeah.
For a six round pick, I'm in. But anything lower
than that fourth third, I'm not. I'm not giving up

(05:41):
those assets.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
It's still crazy to me that you look back and
the trade Bill O'Brien sent him out of town for
David Johnson in a bag of snacks.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
I mean, just one of the.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
Worst trades of all that work out for him, one
of the worst trades of all time. Stupid, just dumb.
God is so good here, so good? Healthy, didn't cause issues,
wasn't a quote unquote diva. You didn't have any of
that from DeAndre Hopkins and Bill O'Brien.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
The gena he didn't like the way he practiced or
something that, Yeah, there was like some issues with the
way that he practiced.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Sometimes would sit out. Then there was also apparently a
rumor that DeAndre Hopkins had his baby mama has come
to practice, and Bill O'Brien told him, hey, man, you
got to keep your baby mamas away, king, you got
you got too many of them?

Speaker 1 (06:30):
I mean, come on, man, what how many? How many
baby mamas? Is too many? Too many? I mean according
to Bill O'Brien, how many three two, two?

Speaker 3 (06:39):
Yeah, Yeah, I think if you just have one, that's
probably a good thing.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
Yeah, that's good. I think nine of them might be
a little much.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
If you're just have a girlfriend or a fiance or
a wife, you do not have to have a baby.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
Yeah, kid hater again, So there's a difference between having
a zoid and a baby mama.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
RD is what you're saying. Yeah, but a baby mama.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
If you throw like three baby moms on there and
they're all at practice in different areas, it's a little
tough in the ticket business too, Like who's coming to
the game where they sit?

Speaker 1 (07:09):
Right?

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Yeah, Michael Irvin, that's what it was. Michael Irvin said.
DeAndre Hopkins told him that Bill O'Brien pulled him into
a meeting and equated him to Aaron Hernandez also a.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Little bit a killer. Yeah, that's that's a little tough comparison.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
So Bill O'Brien didn't like Hopkins having his baby mama's
coming around.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
Billy the kids.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
According to you, Billy, you're you were you were in
your in professional sports, son, like your your players are
going to have a lot of a lot of zois
that's just it comes with it.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
Should baby mamas be on the sidelines for practice? I
don't know if they came to practice, they might have
come around. I need a pass? How many the stroller?
How many? I need? Four? Man?

Speaker 3 (07:55):
Hell Tyreek get a whole section to himself due just kidding. No, really,
you're not, though, because he's.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
Got like eight of them.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
But I don't you know some of the things that
guys make a decision on. I'm I'm not in your
private If you have baby, you make sure you're paying
your child support, which sure he was.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
I don't.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
I don't know about that part, but you know, make
sure you're doing the right thing. But yeah, I understand,
But you don't get to dictate who I take to
the dinner after and comes to the stadium if you're yeah,
who will Lebrant? Right, Billy, don't, I'm a grown ass man.
Let me handle my personal business, right, I'm not breaking
any laws. Is it affecting I mean somebody affecting his play?

Speaker 1 (08:29):
Right?

Speaker 3 (08:29):
I wouldn't want three baby I mean I wouldn't want that,
you know what I'm saying. Yeah, But if somebody likes that,
that's up to them. It's just you're the one who
has to deal with it. But you don't get to
tell some guy who he should be dating or sleeping
with or what what how many children he should make?

Speaker 1 (08:44):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (08:45):
Could you imagine going to like one years aids and
being like, hey, we got to break up.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
Why My head coach said so, yeah, well you're not pregnant.
Oh you can stick around. Yeah you're not a baby mom? Yeah? Yeah,
baby mom is the get expensive. And if you can
a word on a street, yeah, that's a word on
the street. Yeah. And if you need you need to
go somewhere to handle that wealth boll.
