Speaker 1 (00:04):
Okay, let's do this.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Sewn Salisbury.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
There to usc truths, longtime friend, Shawn Salisbury.

Speaker 4 (00:14):
Bryan Lima, go Lobos. This is the Sewan Salisbury show.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
You got Davante Adams traded to the Jets. DeAndre Hopkins
is gonna be traded.

Speaker 5 (00:26):
All that as well. Yankees beat the Guardians. They take
a two to Oh uh seriously, Judge.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
Hey, check it out, mister posted, mister October, Judge hit
himself a home run, a two run job and sacrifice
fly off Nate Smith and I'll tell you what I say.
Nate Smith, that's the that's the country singer. Why am
I losing my sat there? And why they brought in
a hammer in the second inning? Dude? Yeah? What's his name? Uh?
What's his first name? I got Nate Smith on the
brain because I listened to it on Kate Smith. Yeah, Nate,

(00:55):
Kate for four letter what's the difference. But Kate Smith,
who's got about as good a fast ball when it
comes to getting people out movement, he's a I mean, well,
you got to hammer it down in the second inning, dude.
And Biby's really good, but couldn't get through five hits
first nine batters five hits and they went quick. But
then Judge hit a sacrifice fly with the bases packed

(01:15):
and got him up to three to nothing. And then
obviously they got their three runs. But then judges and yes,
what he hit it after the seventh in the seventh inning,
so it wasn't a fifth ending homer, two run job
and down two oh. And I think that when you're
a Cleveland you're thinking, we got to put that, we
got to put the hammer down anyway early, trying to
get their guy out there and shut this down right
in Kate Smith. And then it's three to nothing, and

(01:36):
when you're going that early, you know what, you're thinking,
we can't go down two oh. Right, And if you're
a judge who's hit that sacrifice fly, think about this.
Now you're playing. You get the guy who almost hit
sixty more this year, drives in almost one hundred and
fifty one hundred and forty plus. Yeah, what did he hit?
Hit right around three hundred somewhere in that range and

(01:57):
has been in is the runaway MVP in the America League.
And so they Biby goes out, they call on Kate
Smith to come in. Who's been fantastic this year manager
sticks up for to Soto. They intentionally to get to Judge.
To get to Judge. I mean, how often does that happen?
And and listen, now, I understand Righty, Lefty with with

(02:19):
Soto and why you'd walk Sodo, But you'd walk Soda
if a lot of times in the past, if Stanton
was behind him, not postseason stand but strike out a
lot and Kate Smith's a strikeout pitcher, gets a lot
of whiffs, you know, and swing and miss and whiff,
and you'd say, Okay, I'm gonna walk Soda to get
to Judge. Now, Lefty, Righty, I get and with the
way you know, with the with the way you can

(02:39):
got to pitch, a certain number of guys get in.
I get it. And I understand why you'd pitch this
to Judge as a post of Soda or the postseason.
But you want to talk about if you're Judge, if
you're not staying the on dextra go do you see
this in a nonchalant like put him on, like we'd
rather face do you really? Yeah, we would have to
face the league MVP. Then the guy who's about to
make five hundred million. So I guess it's pick your poison, right. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (03:03):
So with the night that Aaron Judge had with the
one hit being that home running and the sackfly that
raises his October average in his career two two o six, congrats,
you know what he is, Kate John, Aaron Judge, you
are hitting a buck sixty seven this October.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
What if all of a sudden just set that those
four fingers even though he hit a sack fly to
center field and that one, then this one said okay,
I've had it, yeah, and all of a sudden he
starts going all key k Hernandez George Springer, Jordan Alvarez
postseason on your ass and gets rolling as by to day,
Uh yeah, they're they're hitting the case. The planing came,

(03:40):
hitting the cage. Hit in a cage. That's cold by you.
By the way, by the way, we never even talked
about key K's postgame interview after what they wanted, Oh
my gosh, after key K, I'm talking about not not
to read when they won they uh what what was it?
When they wanted to go to the they won the
NLCS where he drops the f ball his classic he's

(04:00):
really don't do he actually is he's like the heartbeat
of the t I mean he like sent guy text
message the night before about he for him, it's not
all this, it's those he says, you know, I was.
The truth is, he's been made for postseason moments. In truth,
if Judge was keyk here Nance in the postseason, we
crowed him, he is Mickey Mantle. You know what I'm saying.
Call him Rique or yeah, yeah that's okay. Sometimes I

(04:25):
call him. I like, yeah, it's a nice little nickname. Right,
he'd appreciate time Tuesday with us. Hell yeah, So I
like the guy's fire and energy. Right, But when he
did postseasons made for him. So he's talking and when
they he asked, hey, he's going through the interviews, rolling
about the dodge. We live, Yeah, we live on TV.

(04:47):
Yeah he asked him a question. He goes, he goes, yeah,
we don't give up. And I'm like, you cool, best,
Yeah I will. If he has said it's on tape,
he probably by not a cost. But it's almost like
he said it's you're on tape.

Speaker 6 (04:59):
Good.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
I want to give him something. Think about Eddy's Sluggan
It was classic, But Judge, I mean, you never know
what gets somebody rolling. And I'm sure Ramirez feels the
same way right now because he's he's not he I
think he homeward. Yeah, he did Homer yesterday, but he's
not doing the thing. He's not raking it didn't Holmer
yes day. Know he got a hit yesterday. Yeah, he
did hit Homer and walk right. He's but he's not

(05:19):
hitting the ball when used to seeing all year long too.
Bless you quite frankly, if if Judge Judge is at
the MVP, yeah, bless you yea. If Judge is at
the MVP, Jose Ramirez might have been. Yeah. I mean
he's in the he's in the forty forty season phenomena here. Yeah,
and he drove in like a Buck twenty or Buck
eighteen or buck something there and had a great year
driving in runs too, so and eighteen there you go.

(05:41):
But Judge doing that, you never know what's going to
spark a guy getting rolling, and that very well could
be it. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (05:48):
The crazy thing about Jose Ramirez is we talked about
this what two weeks ago when we were talking about
Alex pregnant, is what potential contract he could get. Jose
Ramirez took like so much less money to stay in Cleveland.

Speaker 6 (06:00):
Up.

Speaker 5 (06:00):
Just what a what a guy. Guys, guy's phenomenal, you
know what, what a teammate. He's just it and he's
had a hell of a season. Yeah, Yankees taking too
old lead. That's a series shifts to Cleveland. You got
the Dodgers and uh the Mets tonight up in what Flushing?
I'm Flushing Meadows Queens, same thing. Yeah, Hey, first cold

(06:21):
front coming through this morning. By the way, it's only
gonna be about seventy two degrees today.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
It wasn't exactly called a cold for a little win,
it's gonna do it. I hope it's not too much win.
I got. I've got to hit low.

Speaker 5 (06:31):
Well, it's gonna be like sixteen seventeen mile an hour
win all day, So.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
I got to use an extra two club difference. Yeah,
and you know you're both.

Speaker 5 (06:39):
If you get up on that par five and the
wind's you know, blown with you, that three hundred yard
drive turns into three fifty.

Speaker 7 (06:44):
Dude.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
It was, yeah, it was. Uh it was on Monday.
The par four showed about three about three ninety seven
eighty four yards on the flat butt down when cut
the corner on the wall over the lake. Yeah, and
so it's down when now you hit into that thing
and you say, I smoke, yeah fifty.

Speaker 5 (07:02):
We don't come here. We don't go there. Exactly. I
ain't come here, man, I don't come here. We don't
do that.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
Okay. If you came here to lay up, stay home,
yeah exactly, go back on the porch. Yeah, they're that too, right,
right with the big dogs. Do something, do something, do something,
get out of the kitchen. Don't you got two club difference?
You might have to hit a low towel, you know,
might have to hit what the tiger Woods stiggers you're
gonna have to today? Yeah, exactly, or just you know,
if you're a high ball hitter like I am, Yester,
you do instead hit eight iron he hit seven. I

(07:28):
it's a big deal. Just go down the club. It's
a big deal. And you know what, take dead aim
damn right okay, yeah, a dog behind. I've come to
the party conclusion. Drove in this morning. We had some
great suggestions about a softball event. I threw in, like,
what'd be cool to have a whiffle ball turn? You know,
everybody gets I've hit it. It's it's it's a no brainer.
Indoor outdoor full blown, which is in our DNA. On

(07:51):
the show, contest winners two or three winners get to
sit in for all four hours of a show. Huh.
Karaoke Yeah, party, Yeah, just make sense, it doesn't us
it is, Yeah, karaoke party you go there, contest giveaways, meal,
I mean we turn it into and if you know,
if you go up for every song you sing, you
got chip in a buck or two. We want to charity. Yeah,

(08:13):
why wouldn't we? Right, and everybody has softball, golf tournament
and those are great and awesome. Why wouldn't we ad something?
And now let's suit what you got? Yeah, the show up?
Maybe you and I'll be going all you know, uh,
probably one of my three guys, you know, Tracy Lawrence,
Tim McGraw and yeah, yeah, what's the one band?

Speaker 3 (08:33):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (08:34):
Back in the day, it's with like there's like fourteen members,
a couple of basic white guys in there, average white band. Yeah,
and then there's uh, like you know, some brothers and
sisters in there, probably the average.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
White band that they're not all white? Is that what
you're saying that you were talking about it? Remember average
a bunch of brothers. Yeah, it's too random though, old school. Yeah,
but you got uh you know, we got that, and
we could really I mean, we could get on and
then you maybe put a class up together. You and
I are on there, and all of a sudden we
invite somebody up, you know there, you know how they'll
bring somebody up.

Speaker 5 (09:04):
I know who we need. Damn, let's go Triple He's
got to get on the mic with us. He doesn't
he's the cut master. But if you ever notice, he
doesn't sing very oft Okay, so then going far between,
so he's gonna.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
Have karaoke with that. Maybe he that'll be his. That's
when we introducing Tripley. Yeah, exactly how they introduced this
to he like McGraw brought Laney Wilson off stage, or
Chris Staples and brings Lanny Wilson. Hey, I want to
induce you guys to Landy Wilson. The next thing, you know,
we're seeing her on on Yellowstone and now she's got
a contra volition.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Loock he is.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
You're can hear four by four by you? That's a
dedication to you today, you know what? So we could
hear the deep country Dolly Parton twang from Landy Wilson,
all country, all day. I'm gonna pick every cut today. Okay,
they're gonna be kind of may maybe kind of maybe
maybe no old school, maybe a little bit a little
bit old school. You might go Merle Haggard, you might
why why not, and we might go Mitchell Tenpenny. I

(09:54):
want at least one Brooks and Dune cuts. You get
Brooksy and done red dirt. I'm not a better fact
six fifteen red dirt row. There you go, there you go,
come on out with Brooksy Brooks. And then, by the way,
real quick, you know who Mitchell ten Penny is. Right
through the musicians got some good stuff. I was thinking,
why why waste all the space on the name. Why

(10:16):
can't you just call himself Mitchell Dime? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (10:18):
It may It would make more sense if it was
just Mitchell Diamond. It sounds way cooler than Mitchell tenpenny. Yeah,
there's that, Yeah, Mitchell tenpenny.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
Why could he be Mitchell dime? Mitchell dime? I mean,
how many what is tenpenny equal a dime? Thank you,
thank you? Or let's see, Yeah, Mitchell tenpenny, Mitchell dime,
Where do you think he's from Mitchell, Tenpenny is going
to be a guy from Georgia. Nashville close? How far? Okay,

(10:50):
Well I could say Nashville about all of them would
be close of them, right I know? But yeah, I'm
Tenpenny Mitchell dying. But we're gonna have a that's the party.
Prepare for it, indoor outdoor weather cools here. We're gonna
have a karaoke listener part. We're gonna have a blast. Yeah,
and we're just gonna it's a thanks, but we're gonna
throw it. You and me and Triple E. See how

(11:12):
that sounds. That sounds like a country song. Are you
and me just actually kind of free styling? Yeah? You
know what I'm saying? Who collabs more? Who collabs more?
Our guy?

Speaker 7 (11:25):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (11:26):
We just teas and all. We talked about it yesterday
the actor post post Malone or Morgan walland man, that's
all that. See. You know what I'm saying. They got
to collapse with every other, right they did? Right now? Actually,
I might be, might be. I think it's both those, right,
I mean, if there's a collab, you'll find it. Check
out the hook while DJ revolves. It's literally both of

(11:48):
the regular Yeah, almost everyone with everybody. I mean it
doesn't matter. Morgan Wallin collabs with all genres really everywhere.

Speaker 5 (11:57):
And then you've got post Malone, who will collab with Tom,
Dick and Harry like anybody.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
It's a great group. It is a great group. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (12:03):
Three.

Speaker 1 (12:04):
We haven't done who pulls more in a while? You know,
about three weeks we had to pulls more about three
weeks ago. And I'm gonna start now with the weather
getting a little cool, I'm gonna start riding hog in
my hog in. I am. I start riding my hog
in the work. You're gonna ride hog yeah?

Speaker 8 (12:19):
Yeah, right right, yeah, I'm gonna start riding hog in.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
The work gets you some morning goat? Yeah, hog stop
at a time wise, it give me some morning going
Why you're riding riding hog? I am. I'm gonna start.
I'm gonna start riding my hog again. Yeah, I left
out my heart Terrer. He looked at me to like

(12:53):
was the I was like, I'm gonna start riding hog. Yeah. Man,
that's the hell of a riot I.

Speaker 7 (13:05):
Have.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
It's you know, this weather's perfect ride my bike in.
It really is perfect as long as those people on
I tin aren't out of their damn minds. But I
got those screaming eagles on it though my PI on purpose,
not for to be cool driving through the neighborhood at five.
When you wake people up and it's pissing them off,
their alarms go off on their vehicle. But the scream
and eagles are those. Those loud pipes are for one.
I used to when I first when I want to,

(13:27):
when I first started riding, and you hear those before
you ride, like who's this clown?

Speaker 7 (13:30):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (13:31):
And then when you get then when you get on
a bike, you know why. It ain't me I'm worried about.
It's a dude who can't hear me because he's listening
to Mitchell tenpenny driving in and getting that in that air.
So at least with the loud pipes, they can hear.
But I'm gonna start riding hogging on the way in,
proud of you. Yeah do that, guys, hop on my bike? Yeah,

(13:55):
shined up, ready to go, so riding and riding the
hog the way in. Can't wait, man, Yeah, I can't wait. Uh,
I can't wait for you, right right, kid? A lot
a lot of movement in It's amazing. What one little
too too just too little uh too little uh one
little word with the day of mine, I would change

(14:15):
the whole sit you start riding a hog on the
way in well my hog. Yeah, in motorcycles, they'd be great.
A lot of movement in the NFL.

Speaker 5 (14:22):
The Texans make a trade, the Bills make a trade,
the Jets make a tray. Let's cover it all and
discuss an X on sports flock seven n and any.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
Sort of pro painters surtup pro painters. Uh. My favorite
thing about this is I was a customer first, and
I'd be feeling filling you with a bill of goods
and crap if I told you, oh yeah, go there,
use them and I didn't use it myself. Customer, yes,
and grateful to be one. And then when you're a customer,
and then part of the family is a guy who

(14:50):
gets to influence or endorse whatever you call it. Just
be part of the family that gets to talk on
a company I believe in and sort of pro that
does it right. Then it's then it works because you
you know what, I'm not selling you something I don't
use myself, and anybody that is check twice with somebody else,
not me, and not when it comes to any of
the products, and especially this one with my guys at
cert Ofpro certopro dot com for your free estimate and

(15:13):
sert of Pro painters with a C. You know who
they are, sort of pro painters, each and every business
curt of Pro business is individually owned and operated, so
you know what you're going to get a boutique feel
with people who care then know who you are, know
your name, and know what you like in your home,
and if they don't know what you like, they're going
to talk to you about it, help you pick out
the paints. They're local, they're timely, and they do a

(15:35):
great job ninja like get in, get it done, and
get out with all the safety protocols. There's nobody better.
Official painting partner of the Houston Astros. I'm so proud
to be a customer first and to speak for a
company that I think is top shelf. And those of
you who've used them know what I'm talking about, including
my friends sort of pro painters sort of with the
sea certopro dot com for your free estimate, sort of
pro that's painting happy. This is Craig Vigia.

Speaker 4 (16:01):
You're listening to Sean Salisbury on Sports Talk seven ninety
who have fun, You're home with the Stros.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
You know, give him the ball, let him get downhill
and do something. You get guys through his own read
runners like the McCaffrey's the Shannan system. Well, where again
did cam Akers go from?

Speaker 8 (16:17):
Here?

Speaker 1 (16:18):
Minnesota? MINNISODI? Who's their head coach, Kevin O'Connell, O'Connell, what
systems he come from? Shannan all that whole group, Zach Taylor,
that that whole lot right in there. So what you know,
why you go get him? Okay, now that Joe Mixon
is back, we can give him an asset he goes there.
If you're Minnesota, you've added a little depth and you
know what, you don't have to do change one ounce

(16:39):
of herbage. When the guy walks into the room, already
knows that's exactly he can come in and play this week. Yeah,
he's good to go. So gives you a little depth
and uh, which also tells you here that they feel
a little bit better about Damian Pierce's understanding what they're
trying to do. If Joe's hurt, think about that mixing
just comes back. You still take the rest to go. Okay,
it's Joe one hundred percent fully good to go. He
looked like it last week. But you're you're you're saying

(17:01):
now that the depth is okay, I'm good. I got
Damian Pierce now is starting to understand the patience it
takes to run from behind them, you know, from it
from the backfield.

Speaker 5 (17:10):
Yeah, and getting him back obviously, both of them, Joe
Mixon and Damian Pierce health wise, and then Darry h
a Goomballe has been doing some really good things for
this offense as well.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
So right, he made you know what he did, Bryan,
it's a great point. He made it easy. He made
it easy on them to move cam Akers depth wise.
Not not that Camp can't play, but with the way, uh,
Darry stepped in and done his gig, you say, Okay,
he can hold it down if if we need a
third back to do it, and at times, quite frankly,
in certain situations, he'll come in as your second back. Right,

(17:43):
So they've done it. And it also tells you that
damn Joe Mixon running like two dudes. I mean, that's
a that's a beast. Love watching him play football.

Speaker 5 (17:52):
Yeah, they're gonna I mean, we talked about it on Monday,
but excuse me, he's gonna be pivotal for the success
of this offense for sure.

Speaker 1 (18:03):
They want to get away, if they want to get
to if they want to be in a position to
be playing in the AFC Championship games, to super Bowl
type team Joe Mixon is gonna have. He's gonna have
to almost end up being like the team MVP. We
know who Stroud is. Oh yeah, but mixing. I don't
think anybody's gonna deny that. On how his importance to
this team is. We saw it with the naked eye.

(18:23):
The two games he's played in dominated the line of scrimmage. Yeah,
the games he hasn't, They got pushed around, right, It's
crazy how that works. No question.

Speaker 5 (18:30):
Were you surprised by the random movement in the NFL yesterday?

Speaker 1 (18:34):
I was? I was, Yeah, man, I was actually surprised.
When's the deadline? I didn't even Are we a couple
of weeks away from it? Yeah? What's it? I mean
they're moving early. Teams are jumping out on it early
instead of like getting maybe into a bidding war with
somebody else. What's the exact day of the trade deadline,
doesn't They usually fall eight games in, like midway point
of the season. So November fifth is the deadline. Okay,

(18:55):
so what's today the sixteenth? We're we are two weeks away,
about two and a half, two and a half weeks
and a half two and a half weeks, two and
a half weeks away from it. Normally these things happen
two and a half days from it. But you've got
I mean, you could consider Amari Cooper is some a
star type receiver, right, big name. DeVante Adams cam Akers

(19:16):
is not a big name. He means well known and
versatile and has overcome some stuff. And it's not done.
Hassan Reddick's gonna move. DeAndre Hopkins is gonna move. And
I'll be shocked if there's not another big movement somewhere
with a player that you know, you're say anything. Max
Crosby possibly as well, if you want assets for the future.

(19:36):
Now that's see as a raider guy, those are the
guys you want to keep. Max Crosby's a friggin monster.
And because if you trade a Max Crosby and get
some assets from them, guess what you're trying to do now?
Go replace you just got rid of. Now you're gonna
get a guy. Let you need a guy like Max Crosby.
You're gonna have to get it. Takes no crap and
doesn't want so it's it's a but you say, well,
now it's not one hundred million dollars, he's under rookie contract.

(19:57):
I get it. But how many of those guys just
fall off a turn up truck and landing your lap. Yeah,
you don't get that very often, know rarely. So it's uh,
it's something that you got to think about. If you know,
at this trade deadline, are you how big a seller
are you? And are you retooling everything and getting ready
to move forward and get something done? But there should
be a few big moves coming down the pike. And

(20:19):
one in the football obviously Fields benched and now it's
Russ Wilson back at it.

Speaker 5 (20:24):
Yeah, what are they doing? I was gonna save that
the show. We can discuss what's he doing? Well, Mike
Tomlin does a lot of good things. Why why?

Speaker 1 (20:34):
I guess they've seen enough of Justin Fields to tell you.
I know that he's not good, but they obviously feel
that Justin Fields is not the reason that I mean,
and he had a couple of games where he was
really good. But what are you getting different aside from
aside from a veteran who knows the game more, Russell
Wilson's made some decisions that he'd say, that's like rookie stuff.
Now he's played. He played better football last year and

(20:56):
it still does some fine things. He's just a little
more skittish running the foot ball now. And I understand
if you get a little older, you don't do the
things you did when you were younger. Russell Wilson, the
door is open for him, has a chance to prove
something with a really good defense. I don't want any excuses.
I don't want any of it. Is he that he's healthy,
ready to go. Just act like a teammate. That's all
I'm asking you to do. Not she Just be a

(21:18):
teammate because I have just respect for his game right
the last two years. Last two years, he brought a
lot of that on himself. Now you've got a Pittsburgh
winning a Steeler fan base over is huge. You go
there and play like a like they want you to, tough,
getting up, no blame, don't don't start giving us all
this stuff that this is the reason why, and we're
doing this. They don't want to hear it. Pittsburgh fans
just go play football and win, and you've got a

(21:39):
defense that can put you in position to do it.
But they made that decision, which is telling you that
they don't believe their quarterbacks making enough plays for them offensively.
I just can't be shocked. You can't be shocked though,
in truth, well you can't. Maybe it happened this soon.
You knew both were going to play at some point this.

Speaker 5 (21:54):
Yeah, but I guess for me six games in there,
four and too, I thought they were going to ride
the hot hand.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
Right, and you didn't. Fat That even makes it more
blatant in an indictment on justin Fields that that the
team says we're foreign too, and we're benching him. That's
that's the shocking, bar. I guess the timing of it, right, Yeah,
you would almost think, let's wait two more weeks, right,
if we win, if we're six and two, he stays in,
if he just finding ways to win the object, right,

(22:20):
But you know what we questioned Tom, and yet that
guy keeps winning nine to ten eleven games, and they're right,
never had a sea. Yeah, so it's crazy. I'm anxious
to see if Russell Wilson's experience and his some of
the Seattle type of play comes out in him when
he was when when he was that guy. Yeah, and
he was really good, no doubt.

Speaker 6 (22:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (22:38):
Let's keep on talking about football and the NFL. Obviously
a couple of moves that made yesterday. Could the Texans
get involved with another trade? Try to add another offensive weapon?

Speaker 1 (22:49):
What does that mean? We'll discuss an next on Sportslock seventy.
Hey guys, Men's TA Clinic Men's t clinic dot com.
Five convenient locations, an incredible optimization wellness team. But what
is it in your life that's bothering you physically? You tired? Okay?
Is it chronic? Is it one of those things you say,
I feel like I'm tired fight, I'm not sick, but
they just don't have same energy, all right, So why

(23:10):
wouldn't you walk into Men's TA Clinic and draw a
little blood. It's not invasive. By the end of the day,
by the end of the meeting or the appointment, you'll
have your results. It'll start to tell you what we
got to do to normalize your testosterone. It is amazing
what normalizing your testosterone and getting at a lower gear
does to you. It's a life changer. It's a complete
game changer. And we do a lot of things. We

(23:32):
invest in a lot of things we do and like
we get up and we go do this. They serve
other people and do all the same. That's a good thing,
But you can't forget about you because eventually what happens
if you forget about you You ain't around long enough,
you're not as energetic, and then you're in a chase
mode for a long time. Why don't we get out
in front of it. Go to men's tea clinic again,
draw a little blood, and let's get that eight hundred
horse horsepower roll. And it's not just sexual wellness, which

(23:56):
is a big part of it, but don't let that
misconception get you where. That's all it is. That's a
good thing, but so is full body wellness. So whatever
it might be, at least you're taking out the doubt
of oh, okay, now my testosterone is normal, which is
normal to have. As you get older and testosterone levels
start to drop, let's go fix it. And it's real
simple to do a lot of products and services at

(24:17):
Men's TA Clinic and a full body wellness group. There
is no better. And if you want to get out
of lower gear, Men's Tease the place to do it.
Ten year anniversary this summer. That's why they're successful. They
keep going there with stand the test of time. They're
going to help you do the same thing. Men's TA
Clinic dot com, Men'stclinic dot com or nine to seven
to two go Men's Tea for.

Speaker 2 (24:37):
The Sean Salisbury show continues.

Speaker 5 (24:40):
So with that movement yesterday in the NFL read an
article last night, perhaps the Texans could maybe get involved
with adding another weapon for their offense. Do you think
there is any chance, any chance, or do they even
need to try to make a move to go get

(25:01):
DeAndre Hopkins.

Speaker 1 (25:03):
The hop Well I can tell you this. It ain't
gonna cost much.

Speaker 5 (25:07):
Not no, you're not gonna do that's what.

Speaker 1 (25:10):
Are you gonna give up a fifth round pick? Maybe
a fifth round pick. It's not gonna cost much other
than the money he's making. You're not giving up a
lot of assets if you want now, If he's the
best available of the I don't know who else somebody's
gonna make available at wide out. If he's the best
available to go get, why not inquire about him? But
in truth, if Nicocollins is really truly back in three

(25:36):
weeks and you know, dude, I'm when it comes to
offensive football and the greediest fool on the planet, I want.
I want to score, score, score and have fifty of them.
Is there room for DeAndre Hopkins, No, there's not. And
in truth, as good as he's been, I don't know
if he's a Hall of Famer, but he's gonna get

(25:56):
There are gonna be people that think he is right,
and maybe he is. I have to look at his
overall numbers. That's not right now, not important. He's been
really good, yeah, and a pro bowler, and at at
one point in time was one of the three best
receivers in this league. He was unbelieved, especially when catch
everything everything. I'm just sitting here thinking, Okay, he's not
better than Collins at this stage.

Speaker 5 (26:17):
He's not better than any any three of them. I
just to me, and that's no disrespect to DeAndre. He's
a third probably right now on this team. Now, that's listen.
If you said I'll give you a sixth round pick
for him and he comes here. I don't know why,
as long as he understands the role that he may

(26:40):
catch seven balls one day and then the next week
he might be shut out.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
He's a hell. Like I said, I'm not looking at
the lifetime achievement. He's a you would you only? Why
would you part with mister Tennessee and Tennessee needs weapons themselves?
Why would you part with him? Why? He's not the
same player, but with C. J. Stroud he might become
close to It'll be better here. But I just don't know.

Speaker 5 (27:03):
I guess excuse me, so I'm on the same page
with you, like is there room?

Speaker 1 (27:08):
Probably not.

Speaker 5 (27:09):
But one thing they mentioned in the article which I
do agree on, is, and we've talked about it tons
of times, too soft tissue injuries.

Speaker 1 (27:16):
They last and they nag you. They nag you the
whole year if you're not careful. So it's a great
insurance policy. He's a guy who's capable of being a
number one, But on this thing, when you walk into
the building reputation as you number one, the truth is
you're like the third or fourth guy here. Now, if
I could ballhog him for a sixth round pick, I
wouldn't give up a second or third round pick for him. No,

(27:38):
I don't think. Hey, I hate to say, I know
people don't. I would not do it. I'm keeping that asset.
But you're telling me I get something after the fifth
round for DeAndre Hopkins, and I can have him here
as not only an insurance policy, but a guy who
read zone and you know those things that just add
another weapon to expand the field. I don't have a
problem with it. I mean, the old regime, nobody's here,

(28:00):
nobody and DeAndre hopkins career speaks for itself. But if
you say sean third round pick, Nope, I'm good. I'm
gonna trust that the Nico Collins soft tissue will be okay.
But if you say sean, uh, sixth round pick and
that's it, sixth round pick for DeAndre Hopkins, Oh, now

(28:20):
I have to listen. You'd be an idiot not too
but I I don't know how. I don't know how
much they're going to inquire about him. I got news
for you right wide, receive raint of problem here. That's
not an issue. So yeah, I Bryano, as I like
to call you sometimes, I'll take him fifth round after

(28:43):
the fifth round, but put it this way. He may
be a want, he's not a need. He's noted. Yeah,
there's not. I just if you told me I could
have got Davante Adams for a third and the conditions
are going to be difficult to get to the number two,
so you're gonna give a third round pick for him?
I would have. I thought this stage of the game,
DeVante Adams over DeAndre Hopkins. Yeah, as far as player

(29:04):
goes and you know, then you can have it. The
argument would be more Amari Cooper DeAndre Hopkins. Who's who's
a bigger difference maker? Now? DeVante Adams is a much
bigger difference maker than both of them. When I say
at this stage of their career, but you know a
lot of times coming back home where he started, you
can revitalize a lot of things. And listen Hopkins and no, hack,

(29:24):
you're not forty. He's a player. He not the same
guy was when he first got here. But then again,
who is that stage their career. But he may end
up being a really hell of a player with a
better quarterback. He hadn't had one. Kylersman was up and
down right in Tennessee. They I mean, they're all over
the map, with their quarterback situation, it'd be pretty cool
to have a guy like him. And in truth, even
when Watson was here and catching passes from from Hopkins,

(29:48):
Stroud's a better player. Yeah, he just wishes he had
still some of that five years ago Hopkins. I mean
that all that same go and he may listen, what's
he thirty two thirty one? I think that's just over
thirty years old. Not a but the age is going
to prevent it from being one of those where you
got to give up a second round pick for four Yeah,
there you go, so what you got three good years
of him. Yeah, and with this quarterback bring out the

(30:09):
best in you. Yeah, for a six round pick, I'm in.
But anything lower than that four third I'm not. I'm
not giving up those assets.

Speaker 5 (30:17):
It's still crazy to me that you look back and
the trade Bill O'Brien sent him out of town for
David Johnson in a bag of snacks. I mean, just
one of the worst trades of all work out for
one of the worst trades of all time.

Speaker 1 (30:31):
Stupid, just dumb.

Speaker 5 (30:34):
God, he was so good here, so good, healthy, didn't
cause issues.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
Wasn't a quote unquote diva.

Speaker 5 (30:40):
You didn't have any of that from DeAndre Hopkins Bill O'Brien,
the gena.

Speaker 1 (30:43):
He didn't like the way he practiced or something that.

Speaker 5 (30:45):
Yeah, there was like some issues with the way that
he practiced. Sometimes would sit out. Then there was also
apparently a rumor that DeAndre Hopkins had his baby mama
has come to practice, and Bill O'Brien told him, hey, man,
you got to keep your baby mamas away.

Speaker 1 (31:02):
King you got you got too many of them? Too many?
I mean, come on, man, what what how many? How
many baby mamas is too many? Too many? Yeah, I
mean according to Bill O'Brien, how many three two two? Yeah. Yeah,
I think if you just have one, that's probably a
good thing. Yeah, I think nine of them might be
a little much.

Speaker 5 (31:20):
If you're just have a girlfriend or a fiance or
a wife, you do not have to have a baby.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
Yeah, yo, kid hater Again. So there's a difference between
having a zoid and a baby mama, right, zoidd is
what you're saying. Yeah, but a baby mama. If you
throw like three baby moms on there and they're all
at practice in different areas, it's a little tough in
the ticket business too, Like who's coming to the game
where they sit right. Yeah, Michael Irvin, that's what it was.

Speaker 5 (31:48):
Michael Irvin said, DeAndre Hopkins told him that Bill O'Brien
pulled him into a meeting and equated him to Aaron Hernandez.

Speaker 1 (31:54):
Also Brian a little baby and a killer. Yeah, that's
that's a little tough comparison.

Speaker 5 (31:59):
So Bill O'Brien and didn't like Hopkins having his baby
mama's coming around.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
Billy the kids.

Speaker 5 (32:07):
According to you, Billy, you're you were you were in
your in professional sports, son, like your your players are
going to have a lot of a lot of zois
it comes with it.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
Should baby mamas be on the sidelines for practice.

Speaker 7 (32:21):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (32:21):
If they came to practice, they might have come around
and I need to pass. How many in the stroller?
How many fur man hell Tyreek get a whole section
to himself just kidding no, because he's got like eight
of them. But I don't you know some of the
things that guys make a decision on. I'm I'm not
in your private If you have baby, you make sure

(32:44):
you're paying your child support, which sure he was. I
don't I don't know about that part, but you know,
make sure you're doing the right thing. But yeah, I understand,
but you don't get to dictate who I take to
the dinner after and comes to the stadium. If you're yeah,
who will Lebrant? Right, Billy, don't. I'm a grown ass man.
Let me hand them up. So business right, I'm not
breaking any laws. Is it affecting I mean something affecting
his play. I wouldn't want three baby, I mean I

(33:06):
wouldn't want that, you know what I'm saying. Yeah, but
if somebody likes that, that's up to them. It's just
you're the one who has to deal with it. But
you don't get to tell some guy who he should
be dating or sleeping with or what what how many
children he should mar Yeah?

Speaker 5 (33:20):
Could you imagine going to like one years aids and
being like, hey, we got to break up?

Speaker 1 (33:24):
Why all my head coach said, So, yeah, well you're
not pregnant. Oh you can stick around. Yeah you're not
a baby mom? Yeah yeah, baby mom. Is they get expensive?
And if you can't money, that's a word on a street. Yeah,
that's a word on the street. Yeah. And if you
need you need to go somewhere to handle that wealth. Well,

(33:46):
don't put baby Bob, is it, well, it is tras wealth.

eight baby mamas. They got to go to school and

(34:07):
got to educate. We you've got to do it, got
to pay them, so you got to prepare for that.
I don't know if there's a baby mama clause and

Speaker 4 (36:00):
Let the celebration start war Sean Salisbury a Sewan Salisbury show.

Speaker 1 (36:07):
About Barry. There seasons about Barry. They keep this up,
Oh Mama. And the worst part is are on a
bye week. Yeah, oh Ester, it sucks.

Speaker 8 (36:17):
Now.

Speaker 1 (36:17):
It's good to get away from a little football. But
right now you walk the last thing? Hey man, you
got Oh you're cowboys? Did I see he get your
ass kicked by Detroit? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (36:25):
That sucks when the walk Your owner and GM get
on on a radio show and threatened to fire the host.

Speaker 1 (36:31):
Ripped two hosts who just asked tough but fair questions,
and you're mad and said, well, they don't know what
they're doing in his day, and then his next one
talking about they don't know what they're doing. And he's
a football guy. I might have I might have approached
it different. What a what A what a condescending prick comment? Yeah, dude,
it's bad. Now. One thing Jerry did say, and he

(36:53):
usually is really and in truth, we got to give
him credit for one thing, if nothing else, not as
a GM. He is affable with the media. He is,
he's easy, he's easy to get to. He's very entertaining.
But part of that is also he likes it because
well he likes the pub. But he is usually really good.

(37:13):
And I don't know why after all over a decade
with those two guys going on, why all of a
sudden he woke up with somebody peed in his cheerios
and he was pissed off over a question about man,
what can you do about personnel? You know, if the
guys aren't producing. It wasn't personally didn't say Jerry, you suck.
You're not good at your job. He goes on every week.
But here's the dilemma they faced.

Speaker 9 (37:33):
Now.

Speaker 1 (37:33):
I haven't seen any of their executives come out and
defend anything. And and and Jerry said, well, you know,
I pay them, which the means that as a flagship,
they must be paying that stage a lot of money
as the Dallas Cowboys flagship.

Speaker 7 (37:45):
Right.

Speaker 1 (37:46):
But here's the dilemma. My boys and Sean and RJ,
and knowing them, I don't think they'll back off because
they're both great guys and they do. They've been doing.
They've been a team together for a long time. That's
they're sustaining really good radio and they're great Dallas is
next week Jerry comes on. If you softball him, you're
gonna be labeled. You're gonna be labeled soft and and

(38:09):
the rest people are gonna crush you for backing down.
Can't do it? Man, scared if you if your boss
tells you don't hit him with hardball questions, then your
boss is doing your a disservice to that radio show.
Correct And I don't know if he will, I can't imagine.
But you're also protecting a brand, which is fair. But if,
like I said, if it's not personal, you shouldn't have

(38:29):
to protect the brand. It's fair personal and respectful and fair.
But the problem with that now, next week, if they
hammer him with hard questions and it happens again, and
then they risk they're gonna that Jerry says, you're out
or we're gone. Now what's Sean, Sean and r J
or Jerry just has to do a different time slot.
But if Jerry's a pro and r J and and

(38:50):
Sean say, you know what, regardless how frustrated, you move on. Jerry.
Ain't the first time Jerry said something on that show
that has made people roll their eyes. So you have
they have to stand firm, which I believe my guys will,
and and ask the tough questions next week during now,
maybe during the by he's not gonna be on, I
don't know, but the next time he's on, you cannot

(39:11):
back down or they're gonna get blistered for for allowing
him to bully them. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (39:17):
I don't think they will do that, and you just can't. Yeah,
So I've got I've got quotes from Jerry Jones talking
to dig In A. Russini yesterday afternoon. I've got some
quotes from the two radio hosts. This thing like took
off after our show yesterday and it didn't stop. Michael
Irvin commented on it. Stephen A. Smith, Shannon Sharp. Yeah,
you see what Shannon Sharp said? Oh man, I mean

(39:40):
my goodness.

Speaker 1 (39:41):
Now, if they're smart, they'll run that interview about twice
a day for the next four weeks. Okay, if that
was us, we're running that bad boy, so everybody gets
to see it and hear it. Make a comment. No
pub and that kind of deal is bad pub. You
do it and get after it and let everybody else.
Don't tell people how to judge it. Let them make

(40:01):
their own. It's pretty easy. You're gonna you're gonna come
up with your own judgment on it quickly, and it's
probably not gonna be the side of Jerry Jones. Yeah,
that's it, even though the respect to me the most
the hardest part of the interview though, the one thing,
just if I was if I'm a media consultant saying
here's what to do and what not to do, is
when they laughed when he was talking, because well they

(40:23):
he was condescending them and doing exactly what he didn't
want done to him. To laugh while he's saying, oh,
you know what, I'll just get somebody else to do
the interview, and they laughed as if to say, no,
you won't like, sure, you will do that part that
I think that part's the one that you're like, okay,
maybe hit that mute button, but I understand that you're

(40:44):
like laughing, like and I wonder if there was a
part of the uncomfortable part for them that he laughed
at first, like, oh, he's got to be joking that
laugh right, like, oh, come on, man, I know you're joking.
And then he said I'm not kidding and there was
a little more laugh right. So I think maybe the
first laugh was because they well, Jerry's coming on with
some of the good old Jerry quips and he's not serious.
And then when he said it again and doubled down

(41:05):
on that and then tripled down later with Diana Rossini,
it's like, come on, man, as you're doing.

Speaker 5 (41:10):
Their job, stop it. Yeah, Dan Patrick and Dad let
into him. They talked about it yesterday as well. Yeah
he bade, you know what, let's just go on at
seven o'clock hour. Yeah, there's a lot to cover. And
it hits home for us because we're the flagship of
the Rockets and the Astros and that could have been
us and you know, you know what, I know it
won't be what I'm saying, Like in the grand scheme
of things, like there is a small chance that one

(41:33):
of the individuals that anybody in our lineup interviews.

Speaker 1 (41:36):
Yes, could pop off and have a bad day.

Speaker 5 (41:38):
But but I hold our Houston ownership and GMS in
a higher regard than Jerry Jones, and I'd like to.

Speaker 1 (41:44):
Think that they hold us in a high enough for
guard to know that they we don't need a fight
on the air over something because and we're not going
to make it personal. But that being said is I
went on Sacramento Radio yesterday. When I got off here,
immediately they call, well, Sean, how would you have fan
of so? Well, if you really want to hear, to
handle it respectfully but firmly. Right, but you're not gonna

(42:05):
I got a job to do. Tell me how to
do mine if you don't want me to ask you
how to do yours.

Speaker 5 (42:08):
Right, Yeah, let's continue to talk about Jerry Jones, Shannon Sharp,
Dan Patrick. I mean a lot of the national media
got a hold of this yesterday.

Speaker 1 (42:17):
Let's discuss the next.

Speaker 2 (42:19):
Kd E Houston at HD two Houston hard radio station.

Speaker 1 (42:25):
And the Rocket.

Speaker 4 (42:28):
Sports Talk seven ninety your home for your home teams Salisbury, Houston.

Speaker 2 (42:40):
Okay, let's do this, Sewan Salisbury.

Speaker 3 (42:45):
To usc Troupes, longtime friend Shawn Salisbury.

Speaker 2 (42:48):
Ryan Lima, Go Lobos. This is the Sewn Salsbury Show.

Speaker 5 (42:55):
Last night they take a two lead in the A
L c S. Couple other moves was in the NFL.
Amari Cooper traded to the Bills, Davante Adams traded to
the Jets. Yesterday, In case you missed it, towards the
end of our show, Jerry Jones, owner of the Cowboys,
joined one five to three the fan up in Dallas.
He has a weekly hit with the morning show up

(43:17):
there Sean and RJ. And he got a little pissed
off at the radio host and it caught national attention
all day long yesterday. I'm sure they're gonna be talking
about it again because Jerry Jones double down on it
with Diana Russini yesterday afternoon. And in case you missed it,
this is what upset Jerry Jones.

Speaker 10 (43:35):
Which there was a lot of criticism that you guys
didn't add, didn't spend, and don't add and don't spend
and are not aggressive enough with some of the problems
that are still haunting the Cowboys today that we see
playing on the field.

Speaker 1 (43:48):
That's the point of talking about the off season.

Speaker 7 (43:50):
Oh oh, I remember those criticisms very well. Okay, so what.

Speaker 1 (43:55):
Are they playing out to be accurate?

Speaker 7 (43:57):
What's your point? What's your point?

Speaker 10 (44:00):
My point is it seems like, let me tell you
what I'll do.

Speaker 7 (44:03):
Let me tell you what I'll do about it. I
will let us sit down and look at the decisions
we've made over the last several years. Okay, I'll look
at it now. If you think I'm interested on a
damn phone call with you over a radio and sitting
here and throwing all the good out with the dishwater,

(44:25):
you have better be smoking something over there this morning.
I'm not, and I really don't, and I don't even
want our listeners to listen to me to talk about this.
Is not your job. Your job is to let me
go over all the reasons that I did something and
I'm sorry that I did it. That's not your job. Well,
my job is asking one job, or I'll get another.

(44:47):
I'll get somebody else to ask these questions.

Speaker 10 (44:49):
Man, Jerry, We're just we're trying to figure out why
the team out.

Speaker 7 (44:55):
I'm not kidding it. I'm not kidding it. You're not
going to figure out it's what the team is doing
right or wrong. If you are are any five or
ten like you, you need to come to this meeting I'm
going to today. There are thirty two teams here, your geniuses.

Speaker 5 (45:13):
That's Jerry Jones with Sean and r J one five
three the fan up in Dallas.

Speaker 1 (45:20):
Man.

Speaker 5 (45:23):
Those guys were doing their job and they they're pretty
upset and I don't blame them.

Speaker 1 (45:28):
And yesterday, uh, I get it. Can I get a
comment from one of the executives, Yeah, that'd be great,
Please defending their their guys. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (45:36):
So Jerry Jones double down on it with Diana Russini
yesterday afternoon, Diana Rossini's senior NFL insider for The Athletic.
He said, quote, I don't know that I would go
as far as calling the volume connotation as yelling.

Speaker 1 (45:49):
Okay, there was no yeah, that's it. Didn't I didn't
take that as a yelling. No, no disagreement, he said.

Speaker 5 (45:55):
But the facts are that if I'm going to be
grilled by the tribunal, I don't need it to be
the guy I'm paying. I can take it from fans
and take it from other people. I take a lot
of pride in how fair and how much I try
to work with the media. We're brothers and sisters. But
I was a little frustrated there today the wrong ones
were doing the questioning. Now, if those had been real
fans sitting there, or if there had been people that

(46:15):
knew what they were asking about football people, I might
have had a different answer.

Speaker 2 (46:23):
And quote. So then you have Ja.

Speaker 1 (46:26):
Saying he feels like he's above what they were asking.

Speaker 11 (46:29):
R J.

Speaker 5 (46:29):
Chappie, one of the hosts on that show, he quote
tweeted that and said, if you're paying us, you owe
us some interest there too. Pal Sean Sharif also quote
tweeting and said, is this real life? I wish Jerry
Jones paid me? He insults us again, and we've had
back and forth over way bigger things in our fourteen years.

(46:49):
I truly don't understand what the hell is going on
full thoughts tomorrow morning on the show fourteen years. Fourteen
years is a long time, over a decade, uh, that
he's been interviewed by this show, or at least by Sean.

Speaker 1 (47:05):
I'm not sure the uh together for a while, over
a decade together. Uh, it is Jerry was out of line.
They like I said that. The laughs in the background
probably or something they'd like to have back, meaning when
they were laughing when Jerry said that. Right. But knowing
those guys, I know they have fun, but they do

(47:26):
good work. And I don't think there's you know, there's
nothing evil about it. It's just I'm on the host side. Yeah,
you can't back down. Yeah, you gotta be like I said,
as long as it's never I don't. I didn't hear
anything personal in that. There's not because person he called
him yeahoo's too, he did call him yeho's Yeah. So
I think there's a that Jerry did exactly what he

(47:46):
doesn't want done to him. Yeah, and it's not Yeah.
I oh man, I love that they got a chance
to do that. I do. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (47:55):
Shawn also tweeted, he said one more thing before I
truly unload tomorrow morning. I may not have the ancient
football rolodex that Jerry has, but even this football dummy
could see what was coming after his laughable insulting offseason.
And I promise you don't actually want to interact with
real fans. I think everything that both of those hosts
said is absolutely true.

Speaker 1 (48:15):
Now with the way they're responding, like we're gonna unload
and empty the bucket tomorrow on the show. It tells
me that the boss behind him was saying, you do it,
don't you dare back down? Yeah, right, which is a
good thing, like I said, But you do not have
to make it personal, although Jerry Jones did. Yeah, because
now you're basically you're coming into the realm of my

(48:36):
career and trying to ruin it and embarrass me. And
just by your comments alone, because you're Jerry Jones, you
think you get to dictate my credibility, your assation.

Speaker 7 (48:47):
Yea.

Speaker 5 (48:47):
It shows me that Jerry Jones wants a yes man.
He doesn't want to face hard criticism, and like you
said yesterday, he wants all the credit when things go well,
but when it comes to when things aren't going well,
he doesn't want to have to do with it.

Speaker 1 (49:00):
You don't have You don't have to be a player, yeah,
a former player, or have written about football for forty
years to have an idea and an opinion and no
football and those guys have been doing it long enough
to know what the Cowboys. Yes, absolutely, And you think
after fourteen years of interviewing somebody you know a decade
plus that that there's some leeway there on. I know

(49:23):
you guys know I'm not jered. You know we're not
attacking yet, right, We're just going to the source. You're
the the head, you're the owner and the general manager.
Where else we're going, And you'd think there'd be something
to say, Yeah, man, we got a relationship. You got
some latitude, brother, you have at it, as long as
you don't start asking me who I how long am
I going to stay married? And what's going on in
my private life or what's going on in a teammate's

(49:43):
private life or if an injury. I'm not going to
comment on those things that we can't comment on, but
if it's a fair question and and tough, I don't know.
There's no worse interview in the world than than than
a softball. It's embarrassing for the host, it's embarrassing for
the guy, and I just won't do it. I'm going
to tell you, sincerely mean this. If they if they
came into them and said, we're gonna you got a choice.

(50:04):
You can eat a softball and you apologize to Jerry
for asking those questions, or you're gonna lose your job.
I would literally say, here's your Mic, I'm done. They've
done good enough work that they good enough work. They
can find the job as a partnership somewhere else. Put
them on serious, they can find a job and a career.
I just the nerve of some people. The nerve that's

(50:27):
like me walking into his building saying, Jerry, get up
because everybody's listening, in front of his staff, meeting in
front of his players, and saying, Jerry, if we had
an owner that knew what he was talking about, maybe
I would have approached the interview a little different. But
you're not any good and you don't know what you're
talking about. So I'm being serious. We pay your Yeah,
I pay you, Jerry Yeah. And then and then walking

(50:48):
out where the teammates looking like, what did you guys?
Just you have the balls to walk in here and
say that, I'm gonna tell you what I know Jerry
Jones got And that's big stones to walking because you're
gonna run into there's there's a there's some of us.

Speaker 8 (50:58):
And I.

Speaker 1 (51:00):
Would have been professional, but I can tell you what
when we hung up that phone with him, it was
just he would have had parted his ass in a
sling too chewed, and I would you could listen, I'll
beg forgiveness rather than ask permission. You could deal with
me after that. You're not going to walk on our
show or do that. And I thought they stood their
ground yesterday, and I pray that they do it today
and they do it if he's on next week, and

(51:22):
you know what, they don't owe him an apology for
asking questions. No at all, that they asked fair question.
That's the definition of an interview, Jerry. If you don't
want to answer a question, then take your ass off
here and don't get paid to come on our station
every day. I think every once a week.

Speaker 5 (51:34):
I think when radio hosts softball gms or owners, I
think it's I think I think it's weak, and it's
a disservice to our fans and our listeners. I don't
want answers.

Speaker 1 (51:44):
If you're asking softball questions because you're afraid, then that's
just a pussified interview. I agree, can't stand it.

Speaker 5 (51:50):
You have a job as a radio host in the
media to ask fair, respectful questions because people want to
know the answers.

Speaker 1 (51:58):
And if you softball, you're doing it just service. Why
do you think, for for instance, on this first of all,
not softballing, but when you bring a guest on, if
the guest isn't telling me anything, So I'm not having
four guests to show on here. I'm not gonna I mean,
if if a guest isn't telling me anything, why do
I want him on all the time. It's a way
I want somebody to come on and tell us. So

(52:18):
our listeners say, I like that, not just because it's
fun to do. Jerry'll give you some ratings. Now, Jerry'll
do that. He'll get today and today it'll be their
top rated show in the end the year. That it's
not even just the ratings is that it was compelling,
not the way you want compelling to be compelling. You
can't back down from it, man, you can't. And like
you say, it's all about I just man, if I'm

(52:41):
getting interviewed, I want the tough question from the guy
who's interviewing me, because there's we're all looking for answers,
and if I don't have it, I'd say, listen, I
really can. I'm not in that law. I don't know
what Dennis Allen's telling the New Orleans Saints in the
locker room, but Dennis Allen's job is going to be
under fire if he keeps doing this, and it is,
and whether it's in New Orleans. So I don't know why,
as a coach or a player you would want somebody

(53:01):
to come in here and kiss your ass all the time.
It's embarrassing for both sides. And if you're cowardice enough
to ask those softball questions, and that's because you're afraid
you'll never be good at your job. No, you may
be good in an opinion, but part of the job
we have here is to interview people and get bring
something out in them. And I know, as long as
you're not attacking him personally, I don't know any crossing

(53:23):
the line. I mean hell, and you know what you
do reserve the right as the guy being interviewed to
say I'm not going to answer the exactly and move on.
It's not personal, dude, No, But if I don't ask
it what you asked him. If man, you know, if
a guy's what if he had come out of that game,
how would you have felt If you're listening to that
show and you've heard them say, Jerry, you guys are

(53:43):
playing pretty good football right now. Tough one. I know
you know, you gave up fifty or whatever it was.
But you guys are get closer, right. Wouldn't you be
sitting home saying, who are these clowns interviewing this guy? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (53:55):
Could you imagine if those guys said, hey, look you
got blown out at home. It's your own three home
this year. But hey, you were you know last year? Look, yeah,
you were great last Like.

Speaker 1 (54:05):
Look man, hey, ceedee Lamb caught eight balls for ninety
four yards of the loss. He looks good. Nan and Jerry,
you did a really good job in the off season,
regardless what other people think about it. You did what
we had to do for this team. No, you didn't
do anything. No, you literally didn't do anything. And I
would just like to the escort you out of your
seat for saying for interviewing somebody and making you look stupid.
I hear plenty of interviews weekly you say around the country.

(54:27):
You say, what do you guys doing? The hell is
this weak ass?

Speaker 6 (54:31):
Mo?

Speaker 7 (54:31):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (54:32):
Why are you put any one telling me anything?

Speaker 6 (54:34):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (54:34):
I can't stand so r Jay and shawans they'll stand
for him, and I would encourage them to.

Speaker 2 (54:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (54:40):
And you know, if there's an apology to be given
it's from the owner, right, But you know the truth is,
I don't even need this apology. If I don't need
your apodgies, come on next week and let's get it
going and let it rip. And anytime you want to
have a football conversation, let's sit down and talk personnel
anytime you want. I'll do it on a whiteboard with him.
You tell you if you want to prove it, we
can put it. You know what, Yeah, Jerry, just put
it on a table. Stick it on a table. Let's go.

(55:02):
I always said, if you, oh, you're better than let's
go play one on one. Oh, you can be all
those guys who let's go. I'm not just talking about
me anywhere. Yeah, if you're gonna talk it, let's let's
go up and we can we can solve the football
knowledge question. If you are Jane Shawan, let's go talk
and see how much more you actually do know. Yeah,
if you really want to talk, put your money where
your mouth is. Dude, let's roll and we'll let the
other people judge. Yeah, and that's what an interview is.

(55:25):
I'll ask the questions, you get the answers, and you
can judge what the the owner says, however, you want
to as a fan, but I'm not. They can't let
him off the hook. The Cowboys suck right now, and
Jerry needs to understand that. It's like and he's the
architect of it.

Speaker 5 (55:39):
It's like my good buddy Migos said, you got to
walk it like you talk it nice.

Speaker 1 (55:43):
It's your good buddy Migos, Migos, you talk last night. No,
not last night. Now they were busy. They blow him
up today. Yeah, yeah, we'll let him know.

Speaker 5 (55:50):
Let's get to the stake out next right here on

UH Houston's Sports World.

Speaker 4 (56:59):
Yeah, Sean Selly knows how to play the game because
he really played the game.

Speaker 2 (57:04):
Yeah, former pro QB right here.

Speaker 12 (57:07):
He actually has it on his name tag former pro
QB right here.

Speaker 4 (57:12):
Back to Sewan on Sports Talk seven ninety All right, Sean,
what are.

Speaker 2 (57:20):
You hearing out there now? The Salisbury stakeout? Salsbury's takeout
on the Sean Salisbury Show.

Speaker 5 (57:28):
All right, it's time for the steak out. Here on
the Sean Salisbury Show. Sean Salisbury, Brian Lolma, Emmanuel Elmore
shift over to college football for the steakout and Shawn's
USC Trojans.

Speaker 1 (57:45):
I mean why USC, Sean, I don't know if you
know this.

Speaker 5 (57:50):
They have a program that allows fans to run out
of the tunnel with the Trojans. Ranges between fifty dollars
and eighteen hundred dollars.

Speaker 1 (57:59):
Absolutely do know about the program called run with the
Team Experience.

Speaker 5 (58:04):
The fan can be escorted onto the field sixty minutes
before kickoff with the guests to hear the band, to
walk around.

Speaker 1 (58:09):
Then they're going to be able to run out of
the tunnel with the team. We have that long tunnel
that comes down at the coliseum that we run out
and I actually think it's kind of a brilliant thing,
even when somebody else decides they want to do it.

Speaker 5 (58:19):
So before the game against Penn State this past weekend,
a Penn State alumni, Jordan Mott, paid his fee eighteen
hundred bucks and was decked out in all of his
Penn State gear and ran out with the team for USC.

(58:41):
He said we one thousand percent did not expect for
them for them to allow us to participate. They said
they've never had an opposing team fans sign up for
the experience. It was absolutely incredible. Got to spend an
hour on the field before the game. Followed up by
running out behind USC but in front of Penn State.

Speaker 1 (58:57):
I mean, what are we doing here? Sean?

Speaker 5 (58:58):
Well, what are we doing? We're gonna let you u
c l A fans do it too. We're gonna let
Notre Dame. What do we got cooking here?

Speaker 1 (59:05):
Well, if you're crazy enough to want to run out
as a fan with our football team, run out, hey, hey,
never go broke, taking a profit? Have at it? What
are we doing? I know it sounds a little and
they said, doesn't matter, just a trojan event. Hey, we'll
take anybody's money. I actually think it's kind of cool.
And you know what cool that the Penn stake? I said,
screw that. I'm giving you a couple of grandma run

(59:27):
out with the team and you run out there. It
doesn't even go to the nil. They're trying to make
money any way you can. Why wouldn't you? What's next?
Do you get to choose the player you want, like
when they introduce the starting line, if you got to
run through the guys, you know, do you get to
run with the guy of your favorite player and pay
five grand to run with him? The truth is, well,
it's kind of Hey, good on Penn State for running there.

(59:50):
I mean that the fans said, screwed, I run out
with the Trojans down the tunnel. But on the other
side of it, I don't know if you know what
I'd do. We're giving, we're paying nil to all kinds
of stuff. Why not you know somebody does it once
a game home game. What do you make? If it's
two grand, you make twelve to fifteen grand? What's he

(01:00:11):
donated to charity? No problem with that. They I'm to
have ride that damn horse. What's that horse's name?

Speaker 5 (01:00:15):
Trojy no traveler, traveler, Well, you get to pay to
ride that damn thing.

Speaker 1 (01:00:21):
I would doubt that because now we got some some issues,
some serious insurance issues of you not being able to
ride that white horse. You can kind you know, a
waiver waiver, Yeah, and if you fall off, that's on you,
on you or you tell the guy, Hey, make sure
that horse suit's not broke yet buck. Get that guy
off if he's opposing, but you know, knock him off.
But I actually thought it was kind of cool that

(01:00:42):
the Penn State guy did it. You know what, at
the end, it's like in our kitchen, like I did it.
I came into your house and ran with your team.
But it still cost you two thousand dollars of beer money.
So I mean, just might as well let the Notre
Dame guys do it too after we Yeah, my cla
might as well kick their ass and let them run down.
Stand yeah, let them all. The guy wants to spend
his money, you know what's dumber us let him run down,

(01:01:05):
or him spending his money running with the trojes and
not Penn State spending exactly exactly spending the money. There
you go, But I love it. I think it's I
think it's cool. I had no problem with it, you
know so well. I can't believe the pinch steck like
as if as if he had any if he had
any difference in the game. I think it's actually cool.
If you want to run with him, give the guy
a lifetime experience he's running down. Wouldn't you like to

(01:01:25):
go and run down with a white out white out
in Penn State. If you could run down with the
Penn State guys, I'm happy that Wouldn't it be cool? Though?
A fan? Oh yeah, yeah, with a ten thousand people. Yeah,
I'll bet you a million bucks. They're not the only
team that's gonna.

Speaker 5 (01:01:37):
Start doing a man dressed me up on one of
those cheesecake factory waiter outfits. Let me run out with
those dorks at A and M.

Speaker 1 (01:01:46):
The dorks at A and M.

Speaker 5 (01:01:47):
Yeah, the stand stand leaders, ye leaders, Oh you want
to you want to want to run out with those
doors guys?

Speaker 1 (01:01:52):
Yeah? Why not make money?

Speaker 5 (01:01:53):
Hey, the dude ran out with his wife, by the way,
his wife, he said.

Speaker 2 (01:02:00):
Quote.

Speaker 5 (01:02:00):
I think some of them were confused to talking about
the players, he said. At one point I looked at
my wife Claire, and I said, I don't want to
get punched by them.

Speaker 1 (01:02:07):
They're very big people. Yeah, it was all that they
look like they want to punch, so memory he'll never forget.
And even if you're you're running out, the truth is
the last thing you're focused on. Running out of the tunnel,
adrenaline's pumping the crowds packed is thinking about who's the
guy in the plane clothes that looks like he's from
Penn State running out. Who cares? I thought it was
cool that he and his wife did it. I think
it's cool that you're you're charging my hey, anyway to

(01:02:28):
make a buck. We're finding ways to do it.

Speaker 5 (01:02:31):
Why not that you never go broke taking a profit?
Scare of money, don't make money, becuse never.

Speaker 1 (01:02:36):
Hell, I would actually, hey, come on down, you want
to be the person who hands the gatorade to the
players for a four quarter game? Yeah, cost you five
five thousand dollars, Come on side away and you get
and you get, then you get the sideline passed it?
Would that be awesome? Be bad? As there's so many ways.
It's not like you're gonna get a game plan stuff. Well,
who cares? And you can't have your say you can
have it before and after the game, can't have it

(01:02:56):
on during the game, so you can't like videotapes some
converation there you just have I'm all, yeah, I'm all
for fan experience. Yeah, as long as it doesn't disrupt
the game. And what is a Penn State guy running
down with So you're gonna do to disrupt the game?
Big deal? Nothing? Oh man? What are you doing? You
can't wear the same We can't wear Penn State colors
running down our tunnel. Yeah, we actually can. It's not

(01:03:17):
that big a deal. Go win the football game. He
had no say in the game. I'm all for it,
and they didn't win, So Memorable Day saved that ticket
stub for him. I think that's really cool. And you know,
money well spent is with your guy Dale curt of Pro. Yeah,
it is well spent and doesnet take. And I got
news for you. There's a lot of place they're going
to charge you a lot more money to do your
thing when it comes to curt of Pro, sertapro dot com,

(01:03:40):
Cert of Pro Painters curtopro dot com for your free
estimate and all the safety protocols you need. Each and
every cut of Pro business is individually owned and operated,
which gives you that boutique feel that you would want
when people knowing who you are, what your tastes are,
help you pick out the paint colors if you want
to change indoor, outdoor, interior, exterior, business or home. It's

(01:04:02):
expensive to own a home in a business, isn't it,
So why wouldn't you protect it with the quality painting
of sort of pro painters. It's expensive and so you
want it done right, and they do it right. And
I was a customer first, which makes me proud to
be part of a great team that came into my
home and did three or four rooms, did some exterior
stuff for me, and I'm like, now that's the way

(01:04:22):
it's supposed to be done. You di I wires.

Speaker 2 (01:04:24):
I love you.

Speaker 1 (01:04:25):
But even if they can go one better and free
up your time to do something else, why wouldn't you.
It's sort of pro painters, sort of with the c
sortopro dot com for your free estimate, official painting partner
of the Houston Astros. There is no better sort of
pro painters. That's painting happy.

Speaker 2 (01:04:39):
And we're valor. But the Sean Salisbury show continued.

Speaker 1 (01:04:45):
Well, have you ever had anybody come across the room, say,
Exkime Riley Green or.

Speaker 5 (01:04:50):
Ella Langley or Jimmy garoppolod Why or Gabe Kapler.

Speaker 1 (01:04:56):
That's three handsome white guys. Dude, I actually think I
I think that they brick you up. Oh yes they do.
You can't you can't get enough, you can't get enough
of Garppolo. You bring him up all the time. You
want to ban Garoppolo? Yeah, you want to make love
to Garoppolo?

Speaker 7 (01:05:14):
Who?

Speaker 1 (01:05:15):
Okay? Who pulls more?

Speaker 2 (01:05:16):
Riley?

Speaker 1 (01:05:17):
You bring me three guys, Jimmy, Garoppolo or Gabe. I
don't know much about Riley Green's personality. Bangham, what are
you talking about? I would say walking into a place,
it's it's Garoppolo, But Garoppolo. I don't know how macho

(01:05:38):
he is though? Is he a macho guy? Jimmy Garoppolo?
I don't I know, but but I don't know does
he Does he have that swagger you think Jimbo has
that swag? I don't know. He was dating a porn star?
Hell yeah, he's got that swagger. A porn star. Any
any swinging unit can pull if you got to date one, though, Well,
I don't know that means that you can pull. Well,

(01:05:59):
what do you ask me to pull? Quality? Or quantity?
What do you want just for one night? Okay? Well,
who are you going after? You always ask me who?
I Who are you going after? Riley Green? Gabe? I'm
not going after Kapler. He lives up in San Francisco.
They've ruined a charming city. Well, he used to he's
no longer there, right, No, Gabe is No is Capler
still there? No? He got fired. Yeah, Kapler is in

(01:06:20):
San Francis. It's not anything new with Kapler. It's one
of my favorite cities in the world. Been ruined by
by h all that stuff up there. They need to
get that charm back. But back, I digress. We need
to get the charm back San Francisco. I really I'd
probably go to the country in western Riley Green. Do
you know how tall Riley Green is? If he's is
he short like five eight or something? It says he's

(01:06:42):
listened at six ' four. Oh, then he's okay, Well
you should know. You get the crush on him. Why
don't you know all the statistics? We don't check that.

Speaker 5 (01:06:50):
Yeah, he was a D one quarterback Jacksonville State. There
you go, gotta go Riley Green. I don't see hell
I'm kidding.

Speaker 1 (01:06:58):
Does Groppo Grop's got the you know, he's got the
what do you call him? Not boyish good looks.

Speaker 5 (01:07:04):
But there's no way Riley Green sixty four? Why because
there's a Riley Green that plays for the Tigers, So
that might be a confusion. But anyway, played for the tigers.

Speaker 1 (01:07:12):
How can we You say a country guy can't be
six four? No, I just say Sam being six four? Well, no,
he stands six four. Yeah. I don't know why that
would bother you. It doesn't bother me. I'm just reading
the tail of the tape, the tail of tape. So, Garoppolo,
Riley Green or who else? Gabe Kapler? Capler?

Speaker 5 (01:07:28):
Yeah, I mean you know Riley Green sixty four? Who
Who'd I say, Jimmy jim You.

Speaker 1 (01:07:32):
Think Garoppolo is the hottest of them? All right?

Speaker 5 (01:07:34):
You love Garoppolo? I mean, just you've said it on here.
You really think he's hot with Jimmy G. Jimmy G
six three Yeah, then he walks.

Speaker 1 (01:07:41):
In I would imagine Jimmy G. I mean, I'm not
sure pulling a porn star I means you can pull
more than anybody else? Capler six two all right, Yeah,
this is this is a battle six three six six
two six three six four This is a battle.

Speaker 5 (01:07:53):
Yeah, all all these dudes, you basically look like the brothers.

Speaker 1 (01:07:57):
Garoppolo rears, brown hair, will game. Yeah, ask me who
pulls more? Yeah, Garoppolo is I don't think Garoppolo could
grow beer. So Garoppolo is the oh he does Garoppolo does. Okay,
that might have taken fourteen years. He feels like pretty
boy metrosexual to me, Jimmy g Yeah, absolutely okay. And
then I think Kapler is a tweeter that he looks

(01:08:18):
like he could go country or not so Cappler and
Riley Green is just if you're talking about the rugged
more thing that if I was going to pull, I'd
probably go there because he's got some athleticism. Uh, he's
a country guy tall. I'm breaking down guys. I'm breaking
down guys like I'm taking him out next week. Yeah,
that's the whole point of who this is a good one.

(01:08:41):
I'm going to say that I that if I'm taking
him out, I want to be able to laugh and
the rest. I'm gonna say that Riley Green will be
the most the most fun. I'm gonna go with Ryley
Green as much as I like Garoppolo and a lot
of Capler's a form of red Sox. You know. I
like Gabe, but uh, I'm calling him by his first name. Uh,
Jimmy g Uh. They all I'm sure can pull whatever

(01:09:04):
they want, but I would say Riley Green probably because
of He probably seems a little more the guy. He
seems a little more beer and jeans to me. Then, man,
then the metrosexual dress up to go to the grocery store.
That Jimmy, I don't know.

Speaker 5 (01:09:20):
I think Riley Green's got a little bit of it too. Man,
he's more of a rugged for sure. But well, I'm
not looking at the tail of tape. You're staring at him.
That's your style.

Speaker 1 (01:09:29):
But I know who you choose because you'd give up, Well,
you'd give up everything for Jimmy G. I think you
wrote a song about that for him. No, you'd give
up everything in your life for Jimmy G. No, that's
what the word on the street said. No, you got
your ear to the pavement. Yeah, I do, all right,
Look I think for you, I think for you goes
Jimmy G, Gabe Kapler, Riley Green in that order. That's
that's incorrect. You love Garoppolo, dude. You're on your sort

(01:09:51):
star Jimmy. Yeah, you're swinging off him.

Speaker 7 (01:09:53):
Man.

Speaker 1 (01:09:54):
No, yes you are. No, Yes, you are no.

Speaker 5 (01:09:59):
Made Come on, man, you're part of the show. You've
made it. These guys. Look, these guys are a little
taller than you. But they're they're handsome dudes. So who
you taking neither?

Speaker 1 (01:10:06):
Mesh? Yeah, oh I'm not doing I mean, I mean,
i'll matter of fact, I'll be your limo driver while
you triple date the three of them. You can be
on one of those those what's the show? The the no,
the show where you've give him a flower? Whatever?

Speaker 7 (01:10:23):
What is?

Speaker 1 (01:10:24):
What's what's that show? What's that dating show? Damn it?
The Bachelor? Yeah, we'll have a Bachelor. It will be
all the Jimmy garoppolo for you.

Speaker 5 (01:10:32):
Give you some visuals real quick. Here's Gabe. You see
that one. See Gabe, he got.

Speaker 1 (01:10:37):
The five o'clock shadow with them, right, A green looks
like your white T shirt. Looks like he and Thomas
Rhet can hang out. Yeah, they probably do.

Speaker 5 (01:10:45):
And then uh, I mean you know, I know, you
know they all kind of look like, yeah, that that's
a bad picture.

Speaker 1 (01:10:49):
I would say Jimmy is probably the goofiest of the group. Okay,
but you know who you know who wins this one?

Speaker 7 (01:10:56):
For me?

Speaker 1 (01:10:57):
You're going, you're going Gabriel. I Am going to Gabriel Kapler. Yeah,
Dave Capler, I know you are. Would you cheat on
him with Jimmy, dude, this is just work the night.
The problem is everybody be pulling it. You'd say, Jimmy,
you'd say, gave one night, but you'd say you want
to move in. You walk in and you see these
three guys. Probably Garoppolo real quarterback, Yeah, probably yeah, but

(01:11:23):
Green country Singerler for I don't think Ryley Green is
well enough known yet in the outside of country. I
mean he is, people know him, but I think and Capler,
while manager Garoppolo played on Brady Garoppolo, would be the
most well known. Gabe Kepler is a unit. Was Riley.
Listen to how you're talking about him. These dudes are

(01:11:43):
your except for Jimmy g Gabe Kapler is a unit.
Jack mine happened to you? Mean? Look, this is he's
got He's got more passion than if I said two
hot women he'd give me. Jimmy g and my man
is yeeked out of his mind? What's wrong with you?
Just say, here's Brian looking up Google searches due le Mans. Dude,

(01:12:11):
you're gay. It's okay. I don't think you have to
say that. Yeah I just did.

Speaker 2 (01:12:16):
Can you say that it's okay?

Speaker 1 (01:12:18):
I'm not paying the fine you are. You know, I
say gay. I don't know if you are. Guess what,
it's not a gay happy But even if you are
saying that, saying that you're gay, it's no big deal.
I said, it's it's okay. I'm just saying, but you
should just get into your own fields and recognize that
it's okay.

Speaker 5 (01:12:34):
I'm a pro. And when we do this segment, I
have to get the tail of the tape. And this
is a part of the tail of the tape.

Speaker 7 (01:12:38):
Right.

Speaker 1 (01:12:38):
But does that mean because I'm setting you up for success,
because you need to tell me, I embrace you. Uh huh.
I put my arms around you. I may I made
a little less now knowing what you're I embrace you.
But the fact, no, I didn't say, gosh you, I
said you're gay. Dude said he likes to ride. He's
gonna ride Hog my motorcycle.

Speaker 5 (01:12:58):
Right, No, no, no, it's a I'm gonna start riding Hog
into work.

Speaker 1 (01:13:02):
Yeah, And now I do the tail of the tape.
But yes, but I'm not mad at you. I don't
think anybody care. Like I said, that's I don't mind
your preferences. I like it. I mean you like it
goes for you. It's going, you're going now you've changed,
You're going capler, Uh huh Riley Green? And then yeah,
yeah I get it, and you know what, embrace it, dude.

(01:13:22):
I don't think there's anything wrong with it. It's not
a cussword, and it's twenty twenty four. I embrace it.
I'm happy for you. Congratula, I am. I'm really happy
for you. So pulls more. We'll pull out one of those.
When you guys decide what child you're gonna have, you
reveal it. So who pulls more for you? I would say,
judging from your your searches, my tail, the tape, if

(01:13:44):
they know who Riley Green is because he's kind of
I think they think rugged first, but just on walking
into the bar, the initial look probably probably Garppolo, depending
on are you getting at five o'clock shadow garoppolo or
look like he's twenty two garppolo? You know, clean shaven guy.
Yeah this, yeah, this guy might pull more. You're gonna
go capler, Yeah, I live. Yeah, we we're done to

(01:14:06):
look is like like he's a child, right, like he's fit,
like he's twenty one years old. Right there you go.
You got problem, But hey, listen to embrace them. Dude,
I love you, I support you triply. Do you support
him still? I do? I support you? Just be Your
sexual preferences mean nothing, doas other than we care about
you and we're happy for you. If you're happy, guess what,

(01:14:27):
then we're all happy. Yes, you're gay, We're gay happy. Yes, yes,
I'm not. It's okay.

Speaker 2 (01:14:34):
Can we say that?

Speaker 1 (01:14:35):
Yeah, we're a derogatory. Didn't you said like, you're not
gay hating? We just said you're you are. It's okay.
To the record, I'm not. You're well, you're welcoming it
in you're embracing it, and I think you should and
I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Congratulations, but hey,
I appreciate it. Sports Talk seven ninety we roll along.
Next The J.

Speaker 2 (01:14:57):
Salsbury Show continues.

Speaker 1 (01:15:00):
Hey, Brian, what exactly were you measuring your tape with?
That's from cass Uh. My question is Ryan Mitchell says,
where does Brian put Jake Myers on the list? The kid,
which is classic, just came out of Brian Leeman just
came out as gay on Sports Talk seven ninety. Loved
to support sewn Unfiltered. Ryan Fortson for but he's so

(01:15:20):
brave and courageous. Do you have nothing, Hey, listen, you
have nothing but support and love here. Thank you. I appreciate,
I mean you had really appreciated the fact that you
three guys you probably broke two hearts though, I mean Jimmy,
Gabe Kapler and and uh our guy Riley Green. I'm

(01:15:42):
just curious how they feel. I don't know, dude. And
we got to get like Herb Street on. When we
get him on, we got to play the he who
pools more with him? You think you do it? Oh,
come on, du Yeah, I'd let him know before and
he started laughing at his ass so prices. He wouldn't
be as stupid as you and I are, I can

(01:16:03):
tell you that, but it'd be funny. You know, who
pulls or when he's on, we have the who pulls more?
Herb Street or Garoppolo, yeah or her We gotta have
somebody new he's been he's been eliminade from the tournament. Yeah, sorry, Jimmy,
you just you were You were a twelve seat where
Kirk Kirk played twelve twelve ups at the one seat
Kirk played at state quarterback. Right, Yeah, I could pull

(01:16:23):
out a list of Kirk herb Street, Mike tom Zak,
I have to look at the tail tape on that. Yeah,
not my tape. Detail the tape Kirk herbs Street, justin
Field's Ohio State guy. It was about the events. J Stroud,
Ohio State guy. Right, we've got a lot of we
can Herb Street. We could be a lot of them.
Get go look on here and who pulls you know,

(01:16:45):
who pulls more?

Speaker 5 (01:16:46):
Who's got great bandwidth? Who is the who was the
quarterback for Ohio State?

Speaker 11 (01:16:55):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (01:16:55):
It started with the k last name Kay, Craig, Craig, Craig, Krenzel, Craig,
you're going Craig Crenzel. Look up Art Schleister. Okay, great
quarterback gambling issues with our Arthur Schleister.

Speaker 5 (01:17:10):
Tough Todd Beckman, Yeah, that'd be a good one. More
at USC, A lot of a lot, a lot of
a lot of I'm saying, Matt Leiner wins that one.

Speaker 1 (01:17:20):
Yeah right now? Or in their prime? In their prime?
I have to disagree with that one. Did you have
you have the flow back then or no? Major? Did
you locks fully flowing wavy? Oh? Yeah, yeah, Sanchez got
a man bund now I saw that. God man, But
we're doing dude, we're pulling. Okay, see this is where

(01:17:43):
to go get back. We're going going back in time
in their prime.

Speaker 5 (01:17:47):
I just want to know when I google Sean Salisbury mullet,
it doesn't come up.

Speaker 1 (01:17:50):
Well, we need to talk to the people. Well, I'll
tell you what. I put it up with one of
the five best ever. Sorry, what were we doing here, dude?

Speaker 9 (01:17:56):
Well?

Speaker 1 (01:17:57):
Which one was this? The shaved in the back of
the head. That's oh, just modeling. Oh that was a
that was when my darker hair is. It's just a
I put a little gel at it. Yeah, a fresh man.
It's just a cam wrangle. Yeah, it's not me, it's
them exactly. I'm just kind a little upset.

Speaker 6 (01:18:16):
Man.

Speaker 1 (01:18:16):
I gotta find that mullet picture. I can give you those.
It's I had mullet. I also had all one length hair,
you know, when I was growing up like kids that
you know, that's what the kids do. You know what
I'm saying? Who is uh? Who is the goof? Who
is this?

Speaker 7 (01:18:29):
Is?

Speaker 6 (01:18:29):
This?

Speaker 9 (01:18:29):
Is this?

Speaker 1 (01:18:29):
Sam? Where did Sam Donald play Southern cost That's why
I thought Donald, isn't it that's Sam Donald? Goofball. Ain't pulling.
Oh he's Sam Donald. It's like a cabbage patch doll.
He might be, he might be. He might be a
cabbage patcher. Carson Palmer. I mean we had a good run.
Rodney Pete. It's a pretty good run, shug, pretty good run.

(01:18:51):
Paul McDonald. Yeah, let's see you got yours.

Speaker 7 (01:18:56):
You.

Speaker 1 (01:18:56):
I mean, you've already you've already you've called the gate.
You you've you've actually lockdown, Gabe cap Or, congratulations to you,
Thank you man. It's glad. It's glad to be here,
just glad to be here. I'm really glad. I congratulated.
I support you in anything you do.

Speaker 6 (01:19:08):
You know that.

Speaker 1 (01:19:11):
You got people out here thinking, hey, you announced it.
We're just supporting. You're brave, you're courageous, and we love you. No,
absolutely not, no, this is this not I mean, I mean,
let's let's think about the trend here. Triple he real quick, Oh,
here we go. He who pulls more? He's got a
crush on those three guys. Yep, and he's really quick
when we do like a who pulls more girls or guys?

(01:19:32):
He likes the guy category. I mean, not a big deal. Done,
who pulls more for women. Trip. Here's the last thing.
Have you been married thirty five? Okay, you have a kids?

Speaker 7 (01:19:42):
Huh? Kids?

Speaker 1 (01:19:44):
You hate you have to have kids? No, let's see
then what kids? Oh god?

Speaker 9 (01:19:49):
Here?

Speaker 1 (01:19:50):
Yeah, you see you see the trend there? Triple a
It's okay? Did embrace it?

Speaker 8 (01:19:59):
You know?

Speaker 1 (01:20:00):
Tapler is your crush, your man crush. You're allowed to
have one. No, you're allowed to have three. I love women,
now see And when you try to overemphasize it, that's
another sign.

Speaker 7 (01:20:14):
No.

Speaker 1 (01:20:14):
Hey, the next thing you're gonna do is come put
my window treatments up at my house. No, I can't.
Whoa what does that even mean? You don't know what
a window treament is. No one helped me tear design
my curtains. Oh yeah, I love it. It's a compliment
that means let me choose, Yeah, help me choose what?
What my my curtains watch?

Speaker 7 (01:20:36):
You know what?

Speaker 1 (01:20:37):
You don't even know what's watching. When you buy a suit,
you ever to bring out squatches?

Speaker 7 (01:20:40):
Do it?

Speaker 1 (01:20:41):
They do it for other parts. You're the swatch to
defer to the you know, on the couch, what do
you want to your your cover? Your couches? You know
all those things. Yeah, the fact that I know those
things is a little bit.

Speaker 7 (01:20:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:20:51):
It could be me, Yeah, could be me. Not it's
not you, No, it's you, it's me.

Speaker 2 (01:20:54):
It's you.

Speaker 7 (01:20:56):
Hey.

Speaker 5 (01:20:56):
The NFL had their league meetings yesterday. Let's look a
look at some of the takeaways. Texans. Where do they
What happened with the Texas in these NFL meetings? That's
the next on sports TTOK seven to eighty.

Speaker 1 (01:21:06):
There's a lot of place they're going to charge you
a lot more money to do your thing when it
comes to cert of Pro certopro dot com, cert of Propainters,
certopro dot com for your free estimate and all the
safety protocols you need. Each and every cert of Pro
business is individually owned and operated, which gives you that
boutique feel that you would want when people knowing who

(01:21:26):
you are, what your tastes are, help you pick out
the paint colors if you want to change indoor, outdoor, interior, exterior,
business or home. It's expensive to own a home in
a business, isn't it, So why wouldn't you protect it
with the quality painting of cert of Pro Painters. It's
expensive and so you want it done right, and they
do it right. And I was a customer first, which

(01:21:47):
makes me proud to be part of a great team
that came into my home, did three or four rooms,
did some exterior stuff for me, and I'm like, now
that's the way it's supposed to be done. You di Wires,
I love you. But even if they can go one
better and free up your tie time to do something else,
why wouldn't you. It's sort of pro painters, sort of
with the c stopro dot com for your free estimate,
official painting partner of the Houston Astros. There is no

(01:22:08):
better sort of pro painters. That's painting Happy.

Speaker 12 (01:22:12):
K b E Houston, a CBS HD two Houston and
I Heart Radio station, The Astross, the Rockets, Rockets fall,
your home for your home teams.

Speaker 2 (01:22:23):
This is Sports Talk.

Speaker 3 (01:22:25):
Seven ninety.

Speaker 1 (01:22:29):
Salisbury, Houston. Okay, let's do this.

Speaker 2 (01:22:36):
Sean Salisbury, the USC.

Speaker 3 (01:22:40):
Troupes, longtime friend, Shawn Salisbury.

Speaker 4 (01:22:42):
Ryan Lima, go Lobos. This is the Sean Salisbury Show.

Speaker 5 (01:22:49):
Yankees beat the Guardians. They take a to nothing lead
in the ALCS. Yesterday, the NFL had some league meetings.
A couple of takeaways from those meetings. The big one
Tom Brady becomes an NFL owner. They have you got

(01:23:12):
ten percent of the Raiders something like that, ten and
a half.

Speaker 1 (01:23:15):
And a half.

Speaker 5 (01:23:16):
No, Mark, I'm sorry, Mark Davis sold ten and a
half of the Raiders, with five percent going to the
seven time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady. The other five
percent goes to Tom Brady's business partner, Tom Wagner.

Speaker 1 (01:23:28):
Nice. So ten percent to the group. Well, that franchise
I think is valued at over five billion dollars. Now,
not that Tom you know, needs some money, but who
wouldn't want it? So if it was five million dollars
and you got a five percent share of that, what's
that two hundred and fifty million dollars when you walk

(01:23:48):
in the door.

Speaker 5 (01:23:49):
Not a bad gig, let's see in Uh yeah, so
a little over five point one billion dollars.

Speaker 1 (01:23:55):
Yeah, and if you sold it, it'll go higher because
it's in Vegas and it's the Raiders. Six billion. The
value is not going down. I tell you that that's
a nice that's a nice little, uh little gig for
old Tommy Nice. I wonder how it's gonna affect his
uh broadcasting. We shouldn't criticize away, you're not a majority shareholder.

(01:24:17):
You're your own five percent. It's great. You can be
as critical as you want. And as a broadcaster, if
he calls a Raider game, I would think that Tom's
professional enough not to kiss the ass of the team
he's broadcasting. I don't think he'd do that. I don't
think would have anything to do with it. Is ah,
it shouldn't so it uh. He will not be allowed

(01:24:38):
in Oh Wow.

Speaker 5 (01:24:39):
So he can no longer be in another team's facility,
witness practice, nor attend broadcast production meetings, among other restrictions.

Speaker 1 (01:24:47):
That's I don't believe that. I don't know how in
the world can you not broadcast meetings. He's got to
interview players and coaches for the upcoming game, that's part
of it. You're call him production meeting.

Speaker 5 (01:25:00):
So this is per the NFL rules, Brady will not
be permitted in another team's facility. He cannot win his
team practice. He cannot attend broadcast production meeting meetings, either
in person or virtually. He cannot publish publicly criticized game officials.
He cannot public publicly criticize other teams. Brady will be
subject to the NFL's gambling policy and he will also
be subject to the NFL's anti tampering policy.

Speaker 1 (01:25:22):
This is all straight fund understand that's a lot of
money if that's coming straight from the NFL. And you asked.
My point was he shouldn't affect his broadcasting while he's
calling a game. But if you can't go watch practice now,
you can still do your game watching a lot of tape,
but you don't get the feel for when guys say,
well at our production, meaning we got to do this,
you always do it. You go into the day before
you're talking to him watching practice. He can't bet on

(01:25:43):
a game now, he can't, can't, can't you can't play
fantasy pick, you can't bet on a game. I he
can't criticize officials, then that that is an effect on
the broadcaster. So he's got a soft seller. Let and
let his partner do it. I got a problem with that,
just the officials. I got a problem with it. It
interact and he's making I think three hundred and seventy

(01:26:04):
five million dollar contract at least I was reported for
his ten years or whatever for with Fox. I'm not saying.
I mean, if the NFL, if those are steadfast, hard
and hard and steadfast rules. Yep, the hard and fast
rules that he's got to face. Then it does. Then,
then it does. It does take away what being abroad,

(01:26:25):
being in those production meetings matters. You get, You get
little little uh insights of stuff that you wouldn't get
just watching tape. Yeah, I can't can't watch practice the
day before. He can't only the Raiders, like he's go
because he's gonna give inside secrets. Yeah that that that
is a you can't even go on another team's facility. Yeah,
see to me. Then they called him. Then that's a

(01:26:48):
major conflict of interest to the NFL. Yet they approved it.
So are we supposed to expect an eighty percent broadcast
from Tom?

Speaker 7 (01:26:55):
Now?

Speaker 5 (01:26:56):
Well, if you can't criticize other teams or game officials, yes,
that sucks man.

Speaker 1 (01:27:01):
Well then then then you're not going to get the
best that Tom Brady supposed to be as a broadcast.
You just can't.

Speaker 5 (01:27:06):
You're not going to That makes the move to hire
him and get rid of Greg Olsen off the number
one broadcast for Fox.

Speaker 1 (01:27:13):
That would bother That would bother me too. They're going
to piss me off. Honestly, you're not giving us one
hundred percent. Now, no, you're not. When you're cheating the
listener from the game, you're cheating. You're cheating the listener. Yeah,
now now you are? You just are. Now people are
going to ask what tripley just what do you do
with Tom Brady in the broadcast? Move? Oh, there's plenty
of them that would like Greg Olsen anyway exactly. But

(01:27:33):
I think Tom's going to be really good. I do.
But this means you're going into a game with a
slightly pulled hamstring. Yeah, and you're not going to give
me one hundred percent. You get three catches, but you're
not getting six. I do have a problem with it.
Good on him that he gets to do it, and
the fact that Fox said, no problem, We've got all this.
You're a big contract in the NFL is going to
do it and you don't have to give us everything.

(01:27:54):
And you can't. If official misses a call, you're not
allowed to say without making a person out of say
I think that's a bad call, or they can find you.

Speaker 5 (01:28:01):
What about if he even says I don't know if
that's a if that's the right call, is that criticizement?
Is the NFL gonna say, oh, Tom you can't do that,
you're criticized.

Speaker 1 (01:28:11):
But even then, if he doesn't know it's the right call,
then I want you to say it's not the right call.
I don't want you to sit on the fence. He's
gonna have to sit on the fence on a lot
of it, and he's going to have to to soft
sell and kind of tread lightly. Yeah. Oh no, no,
get that that That is a If it's that big
a direct conflict of interest, how do you run him

(01:28:32):
out there every Sunday saying you get you can't do
these things?

Speaker 7 (01:28:35):
Now?

Speaker 1 (01:28:35):
I can understand if they said when the Raider, if
you're broadcasting a Raiders game during those production means you
can't go to that team's facility and watch practice. Yeah,
but why wouldn't he be able to go watch the
Pittsburgh Steelers play and broadcast not getting inside. They let
them choose the information they choose to give Tom. I mean,
are you really gonna call up Antonio Pearson say Pittsburgh's

(01:28:57):
running cover too? I know that I see the take.
Give me any insight if they're playing against the Raiders.
I would get that part. I would, and then Tom
could do all his study leading up to it. But
if you're talking about their two games this week, two
teams this week, and the Raiders aren't in their building,
why why shouldn't you be able to watch practice and

(01:29:18):
broadcasting can't do it? Can't change every week? Yeah, yeah,
see I got a problem on both hands both ways,
Why limit him to do it unless they're playing the
Raiders that week? And secondly, what just because he only
can't criticize an official, screw that riff rabrambrick official makes
a bad call. He's a broadcaster today, he's not the
Raider owner today. You know it's five percent, he's not

(01:29:39):
the majority.

Speaker 7 (01:29:40):
Now.

Speaker 1 (01:29:40):
If you're the seventy five percent owner, then you probably
need to step out of that broadcast and just go
just go own the team. So if you're Tom Brady
and you knew that you were going to be restricted,
why here's what I do. Here's what I do. I
would tell I would have Mark Davis, I loved with
your somehow a side commitment but not signed, just an agreement,

(01:30:03):
chant handshake that when my broadcast career is over, I
did that five percent's mine or however you could do
without putting in his paper that we have an understanding
that we'll get that approval later. I just to me,
it's a problem. I don't think you can be objective
the way you want to be. Just limits him in
the broadcast. Absolutely does, and again it makes the hiring

(01:30:25):
of him and getting rid of Greg Olsen in the
very the on the top broadcast team for Fox. It
makes it look horrible. He has to tread to where
he's afraid to say something because of my getting fined
as a five percent owner. I have a major issue
with that. Major. Yeah, yeah, that's that's I don't like that.

Speaker 5 (01:30:43):
Yeah, that's per per the NFL too, So that's not
just rumors like this, these are actual rules that he
cannot do. So it limits him as a broadcast too
many Yeah, no doubt, Yeah, there's too many of them.

Speaker 1 (01:30:53):
I agree.

Speaker 5 (01:30:53):
All right, let's continue this discussion with the NFL. The
uh next four super Bowl sites have been announced?

Speaker 7 (01:32:45):
You know.

Speaker 1 (01:32:47):
Ken Rodgers. There it is Western Wednesday. Here on the show.
Seven one three two one two five seven ninety is
the number.

Speaker 2 (01:32:53):
Two three hands the loser.

Speaker 1 (01:32:55):
The best that you can know four is to dieanousleep.
There you go. You wanted some Ken, you call him
Kenny or Ken Ken. You think he's still alive Kenny Rogers. Yeah, yes,
I'm gonna say no. Do you know that for a fact.
I'm gonna say it's been over five years. Okay, hit
the Google machine, all right?

Speaker 2 (01:33:14):
Hold on.

Speaker 1 (01:33:16):
Kenny Rogers.

Speaker 5 (01:33:21):
Damn March twenty at twenty twenty, almost far right after COVID,
like right when the world shut down, Kenny Rodgers passed.

Speaker 1 (01:33:30):
Unbelievable. It was a hell of a run for Kenny Rodgers.
It's been a lot of hits. Born in nineteen thirty eight.
It was a hell of a run for Kenny Rogers.

Speaker 5 (01:33:41):
Hand seven one, three, two, two five seven. I just
got to the phone lines, Brandon, good morning.

Speaker 1 (01:33:48):
Good morning.

Speaker 2 (01:33:50):
How are you.

Speaker 1 (01:33:51):
We're good, Brandon, what's on your mind? I'm doing okay.

Speaker 7 (01:33:55):
I heard Kenny Rogers.

Speaker 1 (01:33:57):
Sure did, Buddy Western Wednesday.

Speaker 4 (01:34:00):
Hey, Walcketts won?

Speaker 1 (01:34:03):
They did? They won one, eighteen to ninety eight. Jalen
Green nineteen points.

Speaker 7 (01:34:08):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (01:34:10):
I'm playing the Dodgers against the New York.

Speaker 7 (01:34:12):
Mets right now.

Speaker 1 (01:34:13):
Hopefully the Mets win.

Speaker 8 (01:34:15):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (01:34:16):
I'm trying to go to go Dodgers, Go Dodgers, Let's go.
Why Why is the Dodgers because the Mets blow? No,
I'm kidding. I like the Dodgers. Man. I'm a California guy,
you know, I don't hate the Dodgers. I'd rather take
the Dodgers over the Mets. I'd rather see a Yankee
Dodger World series, any Yankee Met World series. I would,

(01:34:38):
I just would. Sean was a surfer, Brandon.

Speaker 7 (01:34:43):
Sean, Yeah, I'm going for the Mets, all right. I
like that.

Speaker 1 (01:34:48):
We'll have a good competition. Good good banter when you
come on here. I hope the Dodgers just pound them
into submission.

Speaker 7 (01:34:55):
I do, come on, thank you?

Speaker 1 (01:35:00):
Viation what's that? What's that? Appreciate the call? Brandon? Thanks?
I think it was derigate the video game, don't. I
don't like it. Bill, good morning. I don't think Brandon
likes to be rooting for them, Dodge, she said.

Speaker 2 (01:35:17):
Come on Bill, good morning.

Speaker 13 (01:35:20):
Guys.

Speaker 1 (01:35:20):
Hey, I'd like to challenge Triple E.

Speaker 5 (01:35:23):
Uh, I'm gonna put him sound like a robot. Let's
try that again. Let's see if we can get him
pulled up. Bill, Sorry, had to put you on hold
of you were sounded like a robot. What you got
your challenge in Triple E? No, No, you sound like
a man.

Speaker 1 (01:35:41):
There you go. All right, let's have a new room
and then we'll pop popping back tripley. Can you grab
him real quick and just kind of let him know
he sounds terrible. Find a better room. John what's happening?

Speaker 9 (01:35:52):
What cracking?

Speaker 1 (01:35:53):
Ain't nothing but the rent Cuz I got your message too.
I'm gonna look at that when the show's over. Brother,
thank you.

Speaker 9 (01:35:59):
I don't don't know.

Speaker 14 (01:36:00):
I don't know if it's going to go through or now.

Speaker 1 (01:36:01):
Man, I hope it does, Okay, I appreciate it all right, Hey, real.

Speaker 14 (01:36:06):
Quick man, So a couple of things. Davante Adams. I
think it's a bad move on his part.

Speaker 9 (01:36:16):
I don't think. I mean, how many years did he sign?
So New York's gotta take this contract on right?

Speaker 1 (01:36:21):
Correct?

Speaker 7 (01:36:23):
Correct?

Speaker 9 (01:36:24):
He signed with the Raiders for how many years?

Speaker 1 (01:36:27):
How many years does he have left on this deal?
I think, yeah, he's under control for a couple of years.
I believe, yeah, under control.

Speaker 14 (01:36:35):
So Aaron, they blow it this year, Aaron walks away
as his does his fit and go eat his mushrooms.
Then Devonte's stuck with whoever. Then, my my biggest question
is do you think Detroit would.

Speaker 9 (01:36:53):
Pull off the Max Crosby trade Crosby trade.

Speaker 1 (01:36:59):
I think they'd love to, and that makes them the
that makes them the immediate favorite in the end, they're
they're already one. That takes them to a whole other level.
Even though Hutchinson is out, Max Crosby's energy kind of
Max Crosby kind of feels like he's a Dan Campbell guy.
The questions can you pull them off? And the Raiders,

(01:37:20):
you know, they tearing it apart and fire sailing it
all and trying to go get assets. Probably they still
got to find their future quarterback. They got to find.
Now you've got to find a big time wide receiver situation.
There's a lot going on. The Raiders got to fix.
Max Crosby is their most but their best player on
either side of the ball. So if you want to
do that, you got to go get assets. And you

(01:37:41):
know he's got one hundred million dollar deal. But I'd
be standing in line for Max Crosby on my team.
I'd fix my salary cap some way.

Speaker 9 (01:37:49):
I want to predict the future and God will them.

Speaker 14 (01:37:51):
We're all here to see it. But it would shot
me if Brady eventually one day owns the Raiders.

Speaker 1 (01:37:59):
Yeah, I mean fully those we were the majority the
majority owner. Maybe yeah, get enough people together to raise
that money. That's a lot of money, but get enough
people together to do it. Wouldn't take many of his
friends I'm sure.

Speaker 14 (01:38:10):
Oh no, it would take many histories. He used that
Michigan education, unlike Brian using that that Alpine education. He
got Sora State.

Speaker 5 (01:38:22):
Baby, say it loud and proud, Johnny, that was straight.
Hey man, Hey, hey, you getting ready for season or what?

Speaker 2 (01:38:31):
Yeah?

Speaker 14 (01:38:32):
Man, I'm leaving Friday morning. Don't I'm leaving Friday morning,
taking the RBS up there. We're gonna be uh yeah,
we're getting ready. Man, this weather feels great. It's about
time get rid of these mosquitoes and sit around the
fire and drink some Coors Light without the twisted tea
and the white.

Speaker 1 (01:38:47):
Calls you uh, you mean going down to Hunty.

Speaker 3 (01:38:52):
Don't worry, I've died.

Speaker 14 (01:38:53):
Don't die.

Speaker 1 (01:38:54):
Nope, don't do it. Don't don't do it. Yeah, any time,
be safe, be safe to get up there and what
the RV's go up there hunting? Yeah, grab his lease
and let's roll right. The question I have is about Detroit.

(01:39:16):
I think Detroit going to try to be a player
at the trade deadline for extra rusher, whether it's Reddick Crosby. Yeah,
I don't know. Are the Browns really willing to make
Miles Garrett available? You're not doing No, they're not even
willing to Deshaun Watsons. I can't I can't fathom you
let that stud go. I can't fathom when you get
a guy like Max Crosby or or or Miles Garrett,

(01:39:37):
but that's not the staple of your team. You know,
I'm not letting those guys go. I I mean, I
understand why the Raiders, but the Raid, it feels like
the Raider has been rebuilding for I don't know how long,
but they don't seem to rebuild right. They take they
flyers on. You can't take flyers on first round draft picks.
You know when they did that when Gruden was there
and they it was like the guys that you could
have gotten the third round they're taking in the first round.

(01:39:57):
Slow your roll. Yeah, a lot of them aren't even
there in anymore. They've missed on a lot of top
draft picks so many times. And you know, it's like
like I'm a I bleed silver and black dude, And
I just is so frustrating to me because I've come
to expect, used to be. I come to expect if
we did Raiders were gonna win all the time, at
least putting myself in position now you wonder if they
can get out of their own way, and most of

(01:40:18):
the time they can't, which is a bummer for me.
Yeah yeah and Raid Yeah, I was gonna say, especially
for the Raider fans, it really is Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:40:25):
Seven one, three, two, two five seven Islands continue this
discussion about the NFL and uh, why exactly did the
Texans trade cam makers.

Speaker 1 (01:40:33):
We'll talk about that next on Sports Talk seven to eighty. Oh,
why don't we talk about my guys also at Country
Boys Roofing. John was just on we could have had him.
I need to do a commercial collab, you know what
I'm saying, Brian, Maybe a collab with job. Yeah, I
think we should collab a little bit with my guy. Uh,
but Mike got John the owner of Country Boys Roofing,
and he does a fantastic job, as does his company,

(01:40:54):
country with the k Boys, with the Z the They'll
go any job, no to no job, too large, too small,
and well. People are price gouging all over the country
right now, which is pathetic, especially when people are in need.
How about little empathy and little compassion for those in
need without mortgaging your business. How about making it right?
Military first responders, educators, one five hundred dollars off your

(01:41:18):
full roof. When you get that estimate and go in
and get that roof done. You know storms are coming,
whether you want to jump out in front of them
or whether you want to do it after because you
know what, it's a little older or the storm tore
up your roof. You deserve to be safe and secure
without having to spend four paychecks on your roof. One
five hundred dollars discount military educators, first responders, and if

(01:41:39):
you're not one of those, if you mentioned my name,
you get a thousand dollars off on the same thing,
your full roof. You don't get both, so you're one
of the other.

Speaker 6 (01:41:46):
But what a.

Speaker 1 (01:41:46):
Discount it is. At a time when storms hit and
you're in need, people seem to capitalize on other people's woes.
We don't do that at Country Boys Roofing, but we
do do it right. No job too large or too small.
Help navigate the insurance Lame Texas windstorm. Certain TGF shingles
certified and they're locally owned and operated, which matters, and

(01:42:06):
they care. Give him a call. Country Boys Roofing eight
three two seven three one fifty six twenty. Get that
estimate in and get your roof fixed so you're safe
eight three two seven three one fifty six twenty or
Country Boys Roofing LLC dot com. That's country with the
K Boys with a Z Country Boys Roofing LLC dot com.

Speaker 2 (01:42:26):
For The Sean Salisbury Show continued, Way, why I love it?

Speaker 6 (01:42:31):
Why you know what?

Speaker 1 (01:42:32):
I don't know what Staples get. You know, Stapleton's good
at pressures. He's not getting sacked.

Speaker 2 (01:42:38):
Where's Charlie hat?

Speaker 1 (01:42:39):
I love my guy, and guy, I love him Andy,
what's happening?

Speaker 6 (01:42:46):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (01:42:49):
Hey, Andy, Stapleton's gonna say carry ok screw Stapleton. Guys
only for good in the run game to Henley.

Speaker 9 (01:42:57):
I got that against Stapleton. The only problem with Sta
he should have came out a decade before when he
was writing all the music for everybody.

Speaker 1 (01:43:04):
Use Yeah, that's.

Speaker 11 (01:43:06):
That is a.

Speaker 13 (01:43:09):
Yay.

Speaker 1 (01:43:09):
I'm writing all this stuff. Let me come out and
put some soul into this stuff. You guys have made
millions off and sing it. My damn self, great call.

Speaker 9 (01:43:18):
Hey, I'm sorry, I look at this. I'm woke up
this morning and saw this trade and I thought myself,
what am I missing?

Speaker 1 (01:43:26):
Can you help me out what you're talking to? Cam Akers?

Speaker 7 (01:43:28):
Trade? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:43:30):
Okay, what's up? What's what's bothering you about it?

Speaker 2 (01:43:33):
Well?

Speaker 9 (01:43:34):
Okay, so we Sevember seventh, we have a sixth round pick,
and now we're depending on Pierce and a thirty year
old Dey who hasn't done nothing in his whole career
to be a backup to Mixon. I guess I guess
that one run then to decide, oh, well we don't

(01:43:55):
need camp Akers. Look at Piers. He ran a long
teschdown run. But last year, see the whole season, he
was not very good. Can you explain this to me?

Speaker 1 (01:44:07):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (01:44:08):
I can.

Speaker 1 (01:44:09):
I think Andy, and don't go anywhere. Well, first of
let's think about this too. How many teams, honestly, Andy
in truth, in this day of devaluing unfortunately the running back?
How many teams have guys that you love? Is the
backup running back? Do you say I can win with
him on a regular base? All time, you're trying to
find bodies that give you. Now, if you're fortunate to

(01:44:32):
have the forty nine ers have they seem to have,
it doesn't matter who runs for them. I mean McCaffrey's different,
but their backups coming to rush for hundred hundred yards.
I get it. Kareem Hunt's career like well, it was
floundering and now Andy Reid brings it back and he's
running for one hundred plus yards with the chief. So
kind of depends on where you are in the system here.
But the reason why Cam Akers he's missing a step,
but he still gives you the same system in Minnesota,

(01:44:54):
and that's why they're going to bring him in as
a backup. The same system in Minnesota, same verbus, so
he can hit the ground. And why here is I
would imagine watching Pierce on the practice field that they
feel like he's starting to get it as a third
year player, and Darry's done a good job of just
filling in. And I also believe that they're counting on
the mix and can shoulder the load. So really, I'll

(01:45:15):
take those two for the price of one. And I
think it was okay to move camp Akers. Camp Akers
wasn't moving the needle as far as man we're going
to dominate. He was a good back, but Pierce is
more explosive. Is he just gets better? Uh if he
can get better at understanding the patience it takes. But
I don't have a problem with this getting rid of
camp Akers because one of them wasn't going to play.

Speaker 7 (01:45:38):
Well.

Speaker 9 (01:45:38):
I got a problem with it because Mixing after what
six games, he's missed.

Speaker 1 (01:45:43):
Two, But this is the first time in his career
he's played that. He's he's never played less than six
thirteen games in his career thirteen.

Speaker 9 (01:45:54):
I understand, Sean, I understand, But.

Speaker 2 (01:45:56):
Why are you so? But maybe I love I do.

Speaker 1 (01:45:58):
I love that you go deep thinking, I do, But really,
what are you overly concerned to me? There's no backup
running back you're gonna get. If Mixing gets hurt, it's
gonna it's gonna shoulder the load. If Mixing gets hurt
for the season, they are not going to the super
Bowl with a backup running You ain't gonna be able
to trade for Henry. That's already been done. There's nobody
you're gonna go get that's gonna shoulder the load. So

(01:46:19):
why would you stress over two guys for one and
Cam Akers? Why would you care that Akers got moved on?
He If Acres is your full season running back, you
are not winning a super Bowl guaranteedut Son.

Speaker 9 (01:46:33):
That's fine, okay, but but why why take away for
a Why get rid of a better player?

Speaker 2 (01:46:40):
Cam Akers is better than Dearie.

Speaker 9 (01:46:42):
I'm sorry, he's better. He's produced more than I mean, are.

Speaker 1 (01:46:46):
You talking about this year? They both together have worked
pretty decent. But cam Akers and cam Akers, what's Acres
doing for your team?

Speaker 9 (01:46:55):
Well, he's not been given any chance? Has he important?
Hopefully we don't want to. But when you do, would
you rather have cam Makers a Darry and a back Toeld?

Speaker 1 (01:47:05):
I'd rather. I don't think either one can carry the
load for a full game. I need them both. I
don't think cam Makers do for what well to start
or finish.

Speaker 2 (01:47:13):
You know what I'd have to for me?

Speaker 1 (01:47:16):
It would be a difficult decision because I think Daria
has got a great job of filling in. Now, if
you're talking about we're gonna run the ball, we got
four minutes left in the game and the games on
the line were up by six and I need to
kill the clock with a guy who understands cam Akers
all day. But I'm not I'm not put it this
way either way. I'm not getting where I'm going to

(01:47:36):
put your mute on just for a second, John, it's
awful loud. I mean, Andy, is just a while I'm talking.
Just put your mute on. Thank you? So with thank
you is for me. I told you when the camp
makers right here brought depth. They're telling you on the
practice field, which me and you don't get to see. Andy,
we don't get to see. We don't get to see.
Hang on a second turn that keep the mute on, Okay, sorry? Andy?

(01:47:58):
Is it the the in the met rooms in that
they feel obviously that the assets more important than having
four backs in the backfield, and that Damian Pierce has
finally got to the point where they think that he
can take the next step, or they wouldn't have made
the deal because you worry about mixing. But I'm trusting,
as are they that a guy who's not he's missed
two games, yes, but two games he's been in. They've

(01:48:21):
dominated that mixing is going to last because there's no
part of his history that says he's not durable. Thirteen
missed mostly it's fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen games. That's who
he is. So the backup running back's not getting us
a super Bowl. So you're putting it on you're putting
it on two other dudes that if you're asking me
Pierce and Darry for the for the price of one

(01:48:44):
and Acres, give me both guys, because neither guy can
shoulder the load, and neither guy was going to shoulder
the load if cam Akers was here and it was Darry.
Acres is a better zone runner because well, that's the
scheme he's been in. But there's still that the hole
is going to open it close. I respect camp Makers,
STUDI if that's why Minnesota Wan got him. He knows
the scheme and he can go in there and be

(01:49:04):
a good change up back. Pierce is more explosive. The
question is, and we'll go find out can he sustain
it and understand how to run like he did as
a rookie in this system. But Andy, you're a smart
football guy. I wouldn't get bogged down in thinking that
this is a game changing trade. It's not.

Speaker 9 (01:49:24):
Well I didn't say that though, Sean, it's not a
game change. But what did what did you get? You
went from seventh to sixth pit. Now, if someone would
have said, if I would have woke up this morning
they said they got a fifth rounder for him, I
would have been ecstatic about it.

Speaker 1 (01:49:37):
Yeah, but nobody given a fifth rounder for camp Makers
at this stage.

Speaker 9 (01:49:41):
No, that's right, And I just don't I just don't
see an urgency to make to eat the trade, That's
all I said.

Speaker 1 (01:49:48):
I you mean the urgency part of you mean, waited
out a couple more weeks and find out that party now.
If there's no there's no there's no reason to make
the trade unless Minnesota said we need him now, and
if you don't give him to them now, we're going
to move on. They seem to have a great affinity
for trading with the Vikings too, So I get it.
Depth depth matters. But Andy, you and I both know

(01:50:09):
that backfield Mixing's got to play for their band for
them to be as success, for them to get where
they want to go. You and I both know mix
and has to stay in that lineup right. Well, yeah, but.

Speaker 9 (01:50:19):
They also got to get Collins back as well.

Speaker 1 (01:50:21):
Oh, there's no doubt I'm talking about I'm talking about
running back. Wise, I'm talking about running back.

Speaker 9 (01:50:26):
But for some reason, and here's the other thing, why
is why is slowly not throwing the ball down the
field when Collins hadn't been on the field.

Speaker 1 (01:50:34):
Okay, well, well that that's something that maybe he's see
it on tape. I like aggressive coaches. Let me let
me say one other thing about that and we'll talk
about slow as well. Is that if you told me
Collins is in the lineup the rest of the year,
but we don't have a running back or Mixing's in
the lineup, and you out you missed Collins for two

(01:50:54):
more weeks, give me the second one. Collins is going
to be calling exactly because we're much deeper a wide
receiver than we are running back, if you get me. Yeah,
So I just I just.

Speaker 9 (01:51:06):
Want to see I just want to see the offense
opened up last year like it was last year. I mean,
how many times we see Schultz down the field, we
saw Tank Bell down the field. We haven't seen we
haven't seen a tall over twenty yards to Tank bel
or Shultz all year long.

Speaker 1 (01:51:24):
Maybe, just maybe maybe it will be at something. And
I think I see that around the league a lot,
a lot of quarterback play is not as good as
it's been. And maybe now with Mixing back, because they
had Mixing early and then they didn't get to extended
for five or six games. Maybe the Vandwidth will start
to run haywire ash as now that they know mixing
is going to be healthy and run with it. Andy,

(01:51:46):
Thanks brother. I appreciate the banner all day. I get
what he's saying. I'm not worried about. Do I think
the two guys can shoulder it just enough. I hope
we don't have to see that on a where those
guys are starting. Yeah, because it puts a major We
saw what we see the battle. If mixing is not
in there different, Yeah. No matter how good Stroud and
those receivers are, the run games is not there without mixing.

Holy cow?

Speaker 9 (01:55:54):
I mean, how's how's that work?

Speaker 11 (01:55:56):
I had I had a thought, Sean about the Brady Network.

Speaker 7 (01:56:00):
TV thing.

Speaker 11 (01:56:01):
You can't tell me that between Fox Brady, the NFL
and the Raiders that this subject wouldn't.

Speaker 7 (01:56:08):
Have come up a long.

Speaker 1 (01:56:10):
Time ago, right, Why is it coming up now? Right?
I don't know. It's not new news that he was
going to be part of the Raider That's exactly right.
We knew this was coming down the pike, right, not
if it was win yes?

Speaker 7 (01:56:22):
Right?

Speaker 1 (01:56:22):
Why why is this this now coming to light all
the way? Well, you can't do those, you can't do that.

Speaker 11 (01:56:26):
We can't have him say, come on, where where was
the checks and balances on this?

Speaker 9 (01:56:31):
Who was who was hiding on this?

Speaker 1 (01:56:33):
Yeah? And if there was checks and balances, uh, did
the check bounce?

Speaker 7 (01:56:37):
Right?

Speaker 1 (01:56:37):
You're one hundred percent correct, my man, I'm with you.
Why now, Well, it makes for good TV fodder, right,
makes for good talk, right, right, I guess.

Speaker 11 (01:56:45):
But it's it's strange that we're now we were, you know,
watch six games into the season and he's.

Speaker 1 (01:56:49):
Already brought to right. Yeah, my guess is his name's
been on the paper for a long time and they
just had to get the owner's approval. Correct, So when
he starts out in Game two, criticize and refs or
criticizing players. I mean he's he's been in the I've
heard him mention about there. Haven't we heard him mention
about the production meetings already? Yes, I on his broadcast.
I think I've heard him talk about Yeah in our

(01:57:10):
production meeting, talk to so oh so all of a sudden,
now sticks in because now they approved that he's got
to stop cold and can't do it anymore. Yeah, it's weird. Bill.
That's a great point by you. Great point and.

Speaker 11 (01:57:22):

let you go to Triple. Your assignment for the rest

Big Jay.

Speaker 16 (01:59:30):
Good morning fellas, Happy basic white guy Western Wednesday.

Speaker 1 (01:59:34):
Baby, it's your favorite day, isn't it.

Speaker 17 (01:59:37):
Man, It's my favorite day of the week. I tell you,
I look forward to Wednesdays every week. Just a couple
of things. Uh, you know, I want to get in
on the Tom Brady thing. You know, like Fox has
to be paying some type of fine, right, I mean.

Speaker 14 (01:59:50):
Kind of like Bill said, you know, when you say
you can't do.

Speaker 16 (01:59:54):
That well with places like billions of dollars and you
signed Tom Brady, there's got to be some kind of
fine that they're gonna pay. He's gonna have to criticize
the refs or go to production meetings. So there's got
to be a way to get around that, or that's
just gonna be terrible analyzing on his part.

Speaker 1 (02:00:13):
So right, or they or they may Big, they may Jason,
they may put maybe they put Tom Brady on individual
phone calls with individual coaching players, so he's not in
a building, right, like a team, yeah right, right, yeah yeah.

Speaker 16 (02:00:27):
And the other thing, you know, uh, the organization, the
coaching staff must have some trust in Damian Pierson. Now
I mean to trade cam Akers, Yeah, I mean you
know I loved Bill's point. He's the new heart and
soul like Joey loperfdo and everybody's getting but hurt. But man,
I mean, come on, I mean the Damian Pierce is
not a scrub. I mean he played well as a rookie.

(02:00:49):
It may take him a while, and I mean I'm
secure with him. So uh, those are my points.

Speaker 7 (02:00:54):
You know.

Speaker 16 (02:00:54):
I can't wait for the weekend.

Speaker 9 (02:00:56):
It's golf football, golf football, and and.

Speaker 16 (02:00:58):

Speaker 9 (02:01:01):

Speaker 1 (02:01:13):

love it. Have a great weekend. It's Wednesday. Hey, you
know what some people start now, some people start Wednesday
after the show. I mean, you are what do you mean?

Speaker 7 (02:01:26):
I don't know?

Speaker 1 (02:01:26):
You country club in it somewhere? Aren't you napped? You
get a napp today? Maybe maybe the little napping pull.
I got a procedure tomorrow. Oh now you got a procedure.
You're not even gonna let U support you in your change. Yeah,
I'm so tired of these procedures.

Speaker 6 (02:01:41):
Man.

Speaker 1 (02:01:42):
Of course. Ye, it takes a while to make that transformation. Brother, Hey,
get there, man, keep coming to work. It's awesome. I
love it. S great.

Speaker 5 (02:01:50):
I gotta power through, man, got a power through. It's
talking to Anthony Anthony. Good morning.

Speaker 6 (02:01:55):
Hey, good morning guys. First of all, so I got
my wisdom teeth pooled yesterday, so I'm gonna do my
best to annunciate. So I try to take my Homer
glasses off when I do this, And I would love
if y'all would tell me if I'm reaching a little bit.
But I don't think that thirteen and four is a
stretch for the Texans. So they've got eleven games left.

(02:02:16):
Seven of those games they're going to be favorites in,
and then the other four you've got the Ravens, Chiefs, Packers,
and Lions. I don't think it's a stretch to say
that they could go one and three in those games,
or maybe even two and two. And this team has
already shown the ability to win the games that they're
supposed to win, So I don't think it's a stretch

(02:02:38):
to say that they win all seven of the games.
That they're supposed to take care of. So I don't
think that thirteen and four is a stretch for this team.
I would love to hear y'all thoughts on that.

Speaker 1 (02:02:47):
Anthony, Thanks and hope you feel better. Man, I've never
had my wisdom. People hadn't didn't have to. That's got
to be a pain in that. I mean, people, you
know the pain that goes in for a few days.
And y'all Jalie right and hurt. But I appreciate it.
And he saying it didn't sound like he had his
wisdom people, nice and clean and clear, Anthony, I think
that thirteen and four, well, thirteen and four is getting

(02:03:08):
you home field advantage. I still think the Chiefs have
three or four losses on their schedule, don't you. Yeah,
I mean, I'm just talking about if we go by decision,
it's hard to go fifteen and two. Now, maybe the Chiefs.
And when you look at how the Chiefs are winning,
it's not exactly like they're wowing you every week and dominating.

Speaker 7 (02:03:23):
They're not.

Speaker 1 (02:03:24):
And so it's somewhere along the line one of those
games where they don't do much offensively and just kind
of hang around. They're gonna end up getting beat So
but at five and oh right now, correct, they're five
and oh they I mean legit, I mean that would
mean well, with twelve games to go for the Chiefs,
if they just go eight and four, they're thirteen and four.
So that's feasible for them. As far as the Texans go, Anthony,

(02:03:46):
I like your thinking, But of those seven games that
may be favored in or winnable, you would think logic
says at some point they're going to get beaten a
couple of them. I don't think it's out of a
major reach for you to say teen and four. I
think as we stare at it now, twelve and five
seems more feasible to me. But you know, that's one
win because somewhere along those they're going to make a

(02:04:08):
player win a game that maybe that they had to
come back from and shouldn't have won, and they're probably
gonna lose one or two that the other team, you know,
just had one of those days that they played better. So, uh,
is it within striking distance? Absolutely? Would I be pleased
with twelve wins? Hell? Yes, I would. It's twelve wins

(02:04:28):
is hard in the league, man, Huh I said, don't
forget out side bit? Well, yeah, what was our side bet?

Speaker 8 (02:04:34):
Again?

Speaker 1 (02:04:34):
You said what I said, I think they would get
to about. Was it tens or twelve?

Speaker 7 (02:04:39):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (02:04:39):
Hell, you didn't say ten because I, oh yo, because
I had won eleven wins or twelve? Eleven wins or twelve?
O one us? He had twelve? Yeah, he had twelve. Well, okay,
are you sure one thirteen? No, you're sure. We didn't
have the conversation because it was so blatant.

Speaker 5 (02:04:52):
It was thirteen and four because I said, I want
to say, I said ten and seven.

Speaker 1 (02:04:57):
Did I say eleven or twelve wins? You said eleven?

Speaker 5 (02:05:00):
I said, pay to win, and if it was either
twelve or thirteen for triple twelve, he was above both
of us though.

Speaker 1 (02:05:05):
Right, well, I'm not gonna if they get the thirteen wins,
I'm gladly pay. Yeah, gladly. So yeah, that's a I listen,
starting out five and one helps, I can sure, as
he'll tell you that knock him down. So with twelve
games to go, if they go eight and four, that
gets them to well, they've played six games, so they
don't have they have what eleven games to go? If

(02:05:27):
they go six and four. That gets them to eleven wins.
If they go seven and three, which is fair, that
gets them to twelve, they'd have to go what eight
and three?

Speaker 5 (02:05:37):
As he said, sorry, I had them at eleven and six.
So you had him at twelve, he had him at thirteen. Sorry, yeah,
I had hid him at thirteen. Yes, no, we had
him at I think you and I both had him
at eleven and six. Triple, he had him at thirteen
and four. Okay, so they got to get notes from
fair enough.

Speaker 1 (02:05:52):
He's he's on pace, but you know, to go to
to win eight to the last eleven and to get
to thirteen wins, yes, it's very doable. They gotta stay healthy,
gotta be a little lucky, but doable. But I'd be
happy with twelve. They get to thirteen to four, we
should be elated. That would put them. Uh, there's only

(02:06:12):
one other team that I can see getting the thirteen wins.
That's the Kansas City Chiefs, and that would be in
battling for home field advantage. And you would love to
have it here as opposedtaff and to go to Kansas City.

Speaker 5 (02:06:21):
Kansas City there, let's see they're on a No, they
just they're coming off of a bye. Yeah, they're coming
off of bye. They take on They're at San Francisco
on Sunday, then at Las Vegas, Tampa, Bay, Denver, Buffalo.
I'm just just looking down their schedule. They got a
cake ass schedule. Yeah, they're Denver not very good. Carolina

(02:06:43):
are not very good, Las Vegas twice, they're not very good.
Chargers will be a battle. Cleveland's not very good. Pittsburgh
the quarterbacks playing.

Speaker 1 (02:06:53):
That'll be a battle. If a defense will keep them
in it a little bit and sucks. Yeah, it almost
feels like they're a stone c lock to get the
thirteen wins. Thill one hundred percent get to thirteen wins.
They may even get the fourteen wins. They probably will
on that schedule. If they stay focused, they will cruise
to the number one seed because their schedule sucks and
so does their division. Can you imagine winning thirteen games
and not getting home field advantage. That'd be shame if

(02:07:15):
you're the Texans. Anthony, I get what he's saying. I
think it's I think it's doable, but would don't be
disappointed if they only if they win twelve. Think about that.
That's nine wins different from two years ago. Yeah, crazy man.
The NFL. That's the great thing about the NFL. You

moving to London. They're not moving to London. That's uh
the way they're praying playing the London Bridge would fall down.
They got a new that's a good that's a good one.

Speaker 5 (02:09:25):
Yeah, there's a new lease and a transformation plan that's
been approved Forever Bank Stadium in Jacksonville. Tony Kahn announced
that yesterday. Also, you do know Roger wants to play
a super Bowl, So that's why. So I'm leading to that.
The next four super Bowls have been announced. Obviously, the
super Bowl this coming sea or this season is going

(02:09:47):
to be in New Orleans. Hey, Sex, Yeah, I'm pompdue.
We're going to Radio Row. You ready never been, man,
how do you know we're going? You think the Texas
are going to be there? Well, I mean the way
we're going New Order, can you? Hey, I don't know
if you can hang dude. It might be too much,
too much for you. It might be too much for
you dog, too much for either way. It'll be my
first radio road.

Speaker 1 (02:10:06):
Pump for it. Hey, it will literally be your first rodeo?
Will I like it? It's not my fore Yeah, it's
my first rodeo. I can't wait. You deserve to go
to the first one. You'll like it to get to change.

Speaker 5 (02:10:16):
Up here and I get to walk around with you,
and Miss Smith's gonna be coming down, Emma got south here.

Speaker 1 (02:10:23):
You're gonna get some good runoff, No man, yeah, exactly.

Speaker 5 (02:10:27):
Let's see in twenty twenty six, it's gonna be Santa Clara, California.

Speaker 1 (02:10:30):
That's Levi Stadium, home of the Niners.

Speaker 5 (02:10:33):
And at twenty twenty seven back at so far, and
then in twenty twenty eight said to Atlanta Mercedes Benz Stadium.

Speaker 1 (02:10:43):
Same for you, same one, same four so far?

Speaker 2 (02:10:46):
Do you not why.

Speaker 1 (02:10:49):
Does California get to get to get three of them
in the next four years? It doesn't make sense to me.
Is it three of them that I know just a
couple of years ago. That's right, So it'll be three
or so four and five years San Francisco. I'm gonna
tell you what to you know what San Francisco composed
down there in February. It can be a little chilly
in February there, you know, they like, I know we've
had it in what the Meatalwlands and people like one

(02:11:11):
warm super Bowls, right. I think it was raining during
that one. I was that we were doing it. It
did radio road there too, So you know, it's Tampa,
it's New Orleans, it's the at the to l A,
you know, or so far Vegas forty in San Francisco. Uh,
it's Atlanta. Who else do we usually get? They used

(02:11:33):
to be Miami down Miami was there a lot when
San Diego, when it was in San Diego, that was
a great place. We don't have that stadium there obviously anymore.
A team. Uh, I'll tell you one that's that was.
Uh did we need more of But we don't ever
go back. If you're going to California, you know which
one I do now with the news amenities, they don't

(02:11:54):
have the amenities. But just the setting of the super
Bowl at the Rose Bowl was It's such a good
Rose Bull setting. But yeah, it takes. It's hard to
get in there. You're in a neighborhood. The hotels and
all the stuff that they want around. Right, you're gonna
see La and Vegas dominate this regularly. Tampa is always
gonna get theirs, Miami will be in the rotation. New
Orleans is every handful of years is going to get theirs.

(02:12:16):
So I mean, what's Houston, we've the they'll get to
have Dallas, Arlington will continue to get theirs. And you
know what, if you're gonna go cold, go to Green Bay,
you know why they won't not enough hotels and all
that stuff. They're never going to get one for that history.
So if I just had one in twenty twenty two, Yeah,
why did they get another one so fast? You know what?

(02:12:36):
Powerful owners, a lot of money, convincing and warm weather
and entertainment. That's why you go California. That's why you're
going New Orleans. And it's either into Atlanta. You know,
it can be cold in Atlanta. I've been to Super
Bowl Atlanta when it was miserable for a while. Jorgan
ice storm. Yeah, y'all were there for the ice storm. Ice. No,
it was early no, no, no, I'm talked about. You know,
the ice storm was far worse. It was back in

(02:12:57):
the Super Bowl when Denver beat up beat it the
beat the breaks off of No, Denver got their ass whooped? No, No,
was it who Denver beat? Was it Denver? At that
Superol in Atlanta? That was the last storm all week long.

Speaker 5 (02:13:11):
The last time the Super Bowl was in Atlanta for
Mercedes Benz Super Mercedes Benz Stadium was twenty nineteen.

Speaker 1 (02:13:18):
Yeah, not Mercedes Benz. They were at the other stadium.
They played played at the other facility before Mercedes Benz.
Back when I was at ESPN. We went there and
it was it was icy. It was about forty Georgia.

Speaker 5 (02:13:31):
Yeah, it was thirty or forty thousand, or two thousand
or nineteen ninety four.

Speaker 1 (02:13:36):
Two thousand did ice storm all week. It was frigging
freezing and miserable. We did our show indoor and outdoor,
had heaters by it was freezing. Rams played the Titans
there you go. That was the Rams Titan super Bowl.
That's exactly right. But man, dude, there's some cold, cold
times that one. But Atlanta is always going to get theirs, Florida, California, Texas,

(02:14:00):
New Orleans, and then you'll mix them in somewhere else
once in a while.

Speaker 5 (02:14:03):
San Francisco. So if I get gets two Super Bowls
in five years, and you know what, they'll.

Speaker 1 (02:14:07):
Get another one five years after that because everybody wants
to go town. You got golf and celebrities and hotels
and entertainment restaurants. That's what it is. Sorry to tell
the green bays of the world. Minnesota's got one because
they built a new facility, you know, with that big
new stadium there. The cold weather cities don't get it
because it cuts into all the golfing and stuff and
the entertainment they want to they don't get him very often.

(02:14:29):
I think it's kind of a bummer for them. Hey,
isn't football played in cold weather sometimes? Yeah, I'm actually
surprised they haven't had more Pittsburgh, What about Philly? They
got that facility? What about Philly? Why don't they get
a super Bowl? Or Jacksonville always gets one, They'll get
one every now stadium? Why a, you're not doing it
up in Dallas? They did me one of the into
two thousands as well. In Dallas they had remember that

(02:14:53):
was there was a snowstorm and a nice ice storm
in Dallas that week as well.

Speaker 5 (02:14:58):
It was a was it two thousand? There was out
in Arlington hosted. They've only hosted one super Bowl twenty eleven.
There you go, Why dude, it was ice roads as well.
You can you can fill over one hundred thousand in
that stadium.

Speaker 1 (02:15:11):
They're going to do and they'll have more out there.
But it was icy that week in Dallas and road
stop you had to go five miles an hour on
the road. You were sliding all over the place. I
was in Dallas at the time. Yeah, I was tough
sledding man. Not to be no pun intended sledding ice
snow there you go. Should have said tough ice skating.

Speaker 5 (02:15:30):
Yeah, and then also apparently yeah, like you said, they
want to have a super Bowl?

Speaker 1 (02:15:34):
Are you a post that you would host that? Dude,
I'm curious what our listeners say. Are you offended? Does
it bother you? If they had one in Mexico City,
you have it in London Germany? Should we have a
super Bowl played on foreign soil?

Speaker 7 (02:15:47):
No?

Speaker 1 (02:15:48):
They have World Cup played here. Yeah, I'm just called
the World Cup. Okay, it's we don't so there's there's
no team from There's no team from Germany playing in
the Arty, playing in the NFL, not yet, at least
say the only reason I said, I understand why we
go there. Until we have a team there, we should

(02:16:09):
not be playing a super Bowl. I agree, and were
there's enough to do here. I love the global impact.
But until Germany has an NFL team, or London has
an NFL team, or Mexico City has an NFL team,
this is this is our this is this belongs on
our soil. Don't you agree? I agree? We're going to say, well,
wait a minute, football like a little change up. No,

(02:16:32):
you know what, we get to change up during the
regular season, and we've been well, you're not getting a
lot of different places in the regular season. I want
the super Bowl here, You're going to have.

Speaker 5 (02:16:42):
The World Series and you know, mohere else completely even
though it's not a neutral, psyche game, and you.

Speaker 1 (02:16:47):
Make the travel too tough on the on the average fan,
that's a half a year's pay check.

Speaker 5 (02:16:51):
It's already it's already two thousand dollars a ticket for
the nosebleeds at a super Bowl. You can expect people
to go to London, right, Yeah, you're that You're paying
fifteen hundred dollars and fly.

Speaker 1 (02:16:59):
To unless you're the Yeah, it's a corporate America trip. Yeah,
that's what that is. On private will never be able
to afford. I could.

Speaker 5 (02:17:05):
I could never afford to go to a super Bowl.
I'm not paying fifteen hundred dollars to sit in section
humper decks six hundred.

Speaker 1 (02:17:12):
Yeah, to me, the super Bowl belongs on ours until
we have teams, and at some point in time in
your life there will be teams in a global spot. Yeah,
I'll be the first one. Mexico City then too. Yeah,
you're gonna get those and then they'll try to expand
from there. They will. Now, when that happens, all right,
I'm okay with it. Then you can make a case
for it. Till then you don't make a case for

(02:17:33):
you come to us. It's a but that I do
like a regular season change up pitch.

Speaker 7 (02:17:37):
There.

Speaker 1 (02:17:37):
It's been to become the second home of the Jacksonville Jaguar. Yeah,
pretty much. They're there all the damn time. Yep.

Speaker 5 (02:17:42):
Just until then, No, keep it here, yep, agreed. Yeah,
do you think Houston will get a Super Bowl anytime soon?

Speaker 1 (02:17:48):
I do next rotation around, the next time around. Yeah,
they got a lot to get done the next time. Well, yeah,
they will. All this construction and stuff. They got to
get it done to start the expansion of forty five
and fifty nine. That's gonna be a freaking nightmare. We
got whoever approve that, it's stupid. Since I've moved out
to build my home out in full Shially with three
and a half years now, do you realize we've got

(02:18:09):
a message from the people in the community full sher
Katie that area. Yeah, they're not going to be done
with the construction. And I'm telling you, businesses are closing
down at times because the construction has credated for them
to get in to go to a restaurant to eat there.
I'm just I've talked to business owners in there, but
advertising to friends of mine have owned two or three

(02:18:30):
of the places that are along that FM fourteen sixty
the parade route. Yeah, we talked about that. Has it
affected business? Oh yeah, twenty twenty seven, what twenty twenty seven?
Another two years? I feel like I've seen it. I'm
living groundhog Day that i've the same things I'm seeing now.
I see the same thing for three years already, four
more years, well, three and a half more years before

(02:18:51):
they're in the end of twenty twenty seven when it's
going to be done. And I'm sitting here thinking, you're right,
all this stuff, but we do have you know, you
got all the golf courses, you can entertain, there's restaurants here.
It's it's an enticing place when it's right. But you know,
we got you gotta, we gotta, we gotta mix this
all this construction. But it's enticing in certain parts, no question.
Around the stadium it's awful, brutal, and what do you

(02:19:13):
want to do then? Please right there. Can we please
build an entertainment center. It ain't happen like like in
Dallas or in Atlanta around that ball I mean, that stadium. Please.

Speaker 5 (02:19:22):
Here we are, it's it's about to be twenty twenty five,
and yet there's no construction started on a ballpark village
type place next to Minima Park.

Speaker 1 (02:19:31):
There's construction where you live and where everybody else is
going to be a parking lot. It's gonna be awful. Yeah,
God from that as often as I can anyway, God
forbid we get a rainstorm when that construction starts. We
already flood as it is. Can you imagine he won't
need a boat, you'll need a yacht. Right there in Edo.

Speaker 5 (02:19:50):
East downtown by the Georgia Brown and all the bars
and businesses there, they're like being essentially being like they're
gonna be affected by that tremendously. They already knocked down
the big apartment complex there. They made people move out
so they can knock the buildings out because.

Speaker 1 (02:20:03):
They're gonna expand I don't know what, where's Ito fifty nine?
You know, how do you roll that? These nuts would
have got? That's why I mean, I had you. I
just don't have to tie it end. It was too
too quick a turnover on trying to think trying to
crow bar because that's a rookie movement. Is that a
but is that a flood zone area every regularly.

Speaker 5 (02:20:25):
Everything in downtown in the surrounding areas. Yeah, it's gonna
be a nightmare, it is. So how do you attract
like things like, I mean, I know, we've got the
World Cup coming here, Like how do you in the
World Baseball Classic after that?

Speaker 1 (02:20:36):
Though? Like, how do you attract recently we've had the
Final four? We I mean, the World Series is because
your team wins, right, and that's just depending on how
you get there by the winning team. But I I
it's still an enticing city because of the entertainment and
of restaurants. But I don't know are they judging, but
I'm here on traffic.

Speaker 5 (02:20:57):
But what I'm saying is, let's say the World Upper
World Baseball Classic or whoever gets here in twenty twenty six,
whichever it is, might be both. Actually, and all that
construction is started, where's the where's uh Minime Park? Yes,
right there by where all the construction is gonna be.
There's no doubt and it's gonna be like it's people
are gonna be pissed. What are you gonna have to.

Speaker 1 (02:21:15):
Detour people eight miles out of the Yeah, ye, no thanks,
And you're already bringing in I won't stay anywhere near it.

Speaker 5 (02:21:19):
You're already bringing in thousands and thousands of extra people,
no way, and into a city that's already way the
hell overpacked.

Speaker 1 (02:21:26):
Yeah, no thanks. So yeah, it's so annoying. It is annoying.
It's it's it's it's terrible annoying. Dude.

Speaker 5 (02:21:33):
When's when's traffic gonna get figured out right here in
the galleria. Never, it's never gonna get figured out. Let's
keep on rolling. Oh we left another one Arizona. Oh yeah, Phoenix, Phoenix,
that'll be a always god one.

Speaker 1 (02:21:44):
Yeah. Well, because they got they got everything you want
at that time of year, you got waste manage in
Phoenix open, they got it all cut. I mean, you
know you're gonna have all the golf courses. Matter of fact,
that's become one of the to me, you have it
in Phoenix every four years, wouldn't hurt. It's like said,
running feelings. You got everything you good want. There's no question.
Its perfect weather. Too, so doubt about it.

Speaker 5 (02:22:03):
All right, let's get to break here on Shawn Salisbury Show.
The Shawn Salisbury Show continues.

Speaker 1 (02:22:12):
Yeah, thanking up. Put yourself in my unique position.

Speaker 2 (02:22:18):
Because if I get Stone is all that.

Speaker 1 (02:22:22):
Is a family tradition.

Speaker 5 (02:22:26):
Thinking about when it comes to Super Bowl and these
you know them announcing the Super Bowl locations.

Speaker 1 (02:22:31):
Yeah, give me the super Bowl on a Saturday, or
make Monday National holiday? To the party dog and make
Monday and national holiday. I don't know why they don't
have it on Saturday. Put it on a Saturdays. That
way I can enjoy it. Yeah, everybody can enjoy it.
And you can. You can play a Hank get Stone
and sing all night long. And a family tradition. Yeah, exactly.
You know what I'm saying, I'm picking it, picking up

(02:22:52):
what you're putting down. Really though, make it on a Saturday.
We change everything else in football, We leave us all around.
You know, why can't we put it on Saturday? It's
still Super Bowl Saturdays. Aren't you going to bed on
Sunday night after just after a great party day, one
of the best party days of the year. It's not
the best, just all the pregame leading into it, and
then you're going to bed that I think, damn it,

(02:23:12):
I gotta work tomorrow. Right right now, we get the
luxury coming in talking about the game and having fun.
But if you're a regu you're like, I just I
just burnt the candle. Man, Man, You've got to cut
me a little slack on this. We listen, we change
everything else in the world. Why can't we move the day? Yeah,
I don't know. It's not like it's blasphemous for football.
Most of us want it on. You know, it's not
one of those it's such a movie you ask the Saturday. Yeah,

(02:23:35):
it's not that hard. You already you know what.

Speaker 5 (02:23:36):
There's a certain point in time when you start playing
football games on Saturdays anyways, Yes, so what's the difference,
and also playoff games on Saturdays.

Speaker 1 (02:23:44):
Right, tell me, when you're watching the primetime game on
Saturday night, you're not worried one bit about Monday's work. No,
You're like, I'm sleeping and watch the NFL. You fired
up for day two? Now, you just stick it on
a Saturday. You're not up against any college football. You
let it rip right, sleep in and you talk about
it and get back to work. Monday. Yeah, it's it's stupid.
It's something. You have so many gimmicks. I mean, we'lla

(02:24:06):
this off season, we're gonna add to some rule r.
I always gott to just watch us kick off and
it'll make you throw up in your mouth. Away they
kick off with the rules and the lining up, we
look like a friggin They're gonna, you know, like a
wringling Brothers in Barnum and Bailey's Bailey Service clown show.
Why you just just move it to Saturday night. Yeah,
I don't forget this, the Monday off. Forget I'd rather
have Saturday and do all that I want on Sunday

(02:24:27):
and get back to work on money. Then with Sunday
and then Monday off, I can break that family tradition. Yeah,
now that's get with it. Now, come on, Roger, let's go.
They'll make people, they'll make players wear the Guardian cap before.
What's the going is that that thing that goes over
the helmet? Yeah, it goes over the helmet. Not not
the big one that you see. You're talking about the
one that's built into the helmet. No, it's nothing you're

(02:24:48):
talking about the pad.

Speaker 5 (02:24:49):
No, not the path that they're wearing in spring training
or whatever training camp. I'm talking about the one that
like it. It's it's exactly it's painted and it can't.

Speaker 1 (02:24:58):
Into the helmet, but it gives you a big old
it looks like a big old crown on your head. Yeah,
so it feels like it looks like it wasts thirty
five forty fifty extra pounds.

Speaker 5 (02:25:04):
Now you're thinking of this is a different one. I'll
show it to you. Hang on Guardian Cap NFL. Yeah,
the guy for the Titans ward the other day going
to do it. It's it's optional now. Yeah, so you're thinking,
are you thinking of this one? The one that's got
like the like the big padded, padded one.

Speaker 1 (02:25:21):
No, the padded one that we're in practice. I know
there's that one, but I'm talking about there's one that's
built in. But it's it sticks out over here and
it's designed into the helmet paint. It looks okay, Yeah,
that's what I'm talking about, And it's bigger than the
normal helmet with the crown, and it makes it look
like you're a for sliced toaster head. Yeah. Yeah, this
one right here, Yeah, these that's it. The ones you
showed to the practice or the practice ones. They're out

(02:25:42):
there practicing and kids now have to wear them at camp. Yeah,
so to prevent falling down in shorts and a T
shirt and getting concussions.

Speaker 5 (02:25:49):
Yeah, dude, if you're a football player and you're falling
over getting yourself a concussion on your own, football probably
ain't for you.

Speaker 1 (02:25:56):
Dog uh, tripping over your own Sometimes it happens because
you get spewy out there. It was spewious. He's a
kid who comes with the goggles on, got all the equipment.
He's got four wristbands on each risk brand new shoes
that by the middle of practice his feet are blistered
so bad. And he got me. He's got every new
look you want. The Duffel bag that stands sits on

(02:26:18):
the sideline with all his gear in it. He's got
three of those crown on those things that go on
on the helmet just in case one gets too sweaty.
Mom and dad to send him out there. They can't,
I mean the foot, but they send him out there.
He's got the big old goggles on wide receiver. He
got a mouthpiece that where the thing sticks out where.
He's got the mouthpiece in the old school one that
used to tidy your front of your helmet on the

(02:26:39):
on the face mask. And I'll tell he's ready to go, dude,
he's he he's he's got it, formed it. They stuck
it in the boiling water the night before. He's ready
to go. But his toes point out when he stands.
His toes point out where he stands. He walks on
his heels and he he just s. He says, goofy
and hattie doty is it gets? And I love him.

(02:27:00):
But he's got every bounce of equipment you put him
go in. He say, run a go route and he
starts running back to the huddle. That's spewy. Okay, all right,
that guy, that guy just the perfect day. They spewy.
But he got every ounce of equipment. Dude, he's in now.
I'm gonna coach him and teach him a buddy. He
might say that one time. He goes, dude, we were
at a camp. He goes, look at the spuee over here,

(02:27:20):
there's three hundred kids. I believe my boy, how about
to come on as a guest. They'll come on. He's
he's all the time he goes. He was the coach
and the head coach of the camp not making for
just the unifor not making for the kid, but just
the dress right. And he walks over to you and
you know, like a lot of athletes got like a
lot of times are like toast pointed like pigeon toe,
a little bit like just the way their body. The
guy I'm talking about this the toes pointed out so

(02:27:41):
far that his that his inside of his foot leads
the walk right, but out till dude, he's got the shorts,
every the under armor from top to bottom night Nike.
He's dressed called drill, got gloves on, his drip on
the field completely, but the game doesn't match, and has
three pairs of shoes to match the color of the practice.
And he comes out the game doesn't He comes out
to the camp. You break the huddle and you say, okay,

(02:28:03):
we're running a slant route and Spewey, I'm sure what
side of line of screamage the line up on. And
he ain't there because Spewey wants to be there because
mom and Dad forced him to go to the camp. Now, listen,
I'm gonna coach spew me up. I'm gonna coach him up.
But spewey. Dude, he's that guy. You know that guy,
So listen, I'll train him whatever. But he said, he looks,

(02:28:24):
he goes, he goes, he goes, show look over there.
He goes, Look is we're trying to get stuff done here. Now, look,
there's three hundred kids. He goes, Now, I can find
I said, you can find him at every camp, can't you.
He goes, oh, I can't. He goes, take a look
over there. He goes, look at ten o'clock on the thirty. Oh,
what stretch it, dude. And I'm telling you, goggles gloves

(02:28:45):
had it all and and and the kids. The kid
that's never been in a huddle in his life, which
is okay, he's just learning, but that's who he nick
did he nick dave his spew and Dude, I almost
threw up.

Speaker 2 (02:28:58):
Spewy.

Speaker 1 (02:28:59):
He's like, okay, yeah, okay. The kid who looks the part,
but really isn't the I mean, the uniform says they
just went to they were dick sporting goods for four
hours the game says he hadn't played four hours of
football at the entire life. Oh that's hilarious, man, Oh
my god. The guy who comes to the guy who's
the first guy that comes to the plate during tryouts.
Uh huh, and his hands or like six inches separated. Yeah,

(02:29:22):
but he got that drip though, But he got batting
gloves on, got dripped. I mean he got the customized bat.
The cleats are right, he's got the sanitary socks just
for the hell of it, right, you know what I'm saying.
Everything looks right. I'm telling you it's.

Speaker 5 (02:29:33):
I'm laughing here because there are so many spews right now.
He's unbelievable. Maybe you got the parents, maybe even eye
black and the parents did it. And when he gets
the dad, yeah, oh, it's like, hey, hey, hey, look
it's that you got to use this bat. I just
bought a new one for you, different bat.

Speaker 1 (02:29:48):
His dad bought in the bat, but didn't teach him
how to put his hands together and get rip a bat.
And so he's got one up by the trademark and
one like down but a little choked up. But his

Speaker 9 (02:32:07):
Ever been at them but the rent?

Speaker 2 (02:32:09):
Yeah?

Speaker 9 (02:32:09):
Any of you guys that are a bit to Hank
Williams Junior.

Speaker 1 (02:32:12):
Concert I wish. Yeah, you know what, I know, I'm
bummed I have not and that that that's one of
those regrets I have so far, music regrets, not even
at the Rodeo. No, I've never seen. I've never seen.
I've never seen Junior live ever, and that bumps me off.

Speaker 9 (02:32:28):
What do you like drinking?

Speaker 1 (02:32:30):
I like you mean a little some throw some bourbon? Hell?

Speaker 13 (02:32:32):
Yes, well, guess what twenty years ago the last time
I tried to go to Hank William Junior's concert at
the Astronome.

Speaker 9 (02:32:41):
Who have to?

Speaker 13 (02:32:42):
Over twenty years ago they stopped serving any kind of
liquor when he's on the on the stage because of
all the fights and everybody gets crazy.

Speaker 9 (02:32:50):
Yeah, why would over twenty years ago?

Speaker 1 (02:32:53):
Did you fight a concert? Go there to enjoy the music?
I'm not not you, I'm talking about white people got
to be beating up on people?

Speaker 13 (02:32:59):
Great had I worked as a chronicle for tweenty eight years.
I had like fifteen tickets and we all went to
a bar before that?

Speaker 1 (02:33:06):
What did you.

Speaker 7 (02:33:08):
Oh?

Speaker 9 (02:33:08):
I was a printer for twenty eight years.

Speaker 1 (02:33:10):
There do you do you buych What did when did?
What was your last year there?

Speaker 13 (02:33:15):
In two thousand and five?

Speaker 9 (02:33:17):
Two thousand and six, something like that.

Speaker 2 (02:33:18):
Mike Barrett ringing a ring a bell, Mike Barrett. Yeah,
he worked at Partment.

Speaker 1 (02:33:24):
Pretty big company, wasn't it. I don't know.

Speaker 9 (02:33:25):
He just he just retired one hundred people in the building.

Speaker 1 (02:33:28):
But he just retired from the chronicle.

Speaker 2 (02:33:30):
He was there for like thirty years, retired, he retired.

Speaker 1 (02:33:32):
He was a youngster then, but he's been there. He
was there for thirty years.

Speaker 13 (02:33:36):
Okay, Well I stopped working there probably fifteen years ago.

Speaker 9 (02:33:40):
As long than that. Maybe I'll get to retire there
when I'm ready.

Speaker 13 (02:33:44):
But that's that's why I'm doing this now. Because I
was all I was doing, going out drinking every night.

Speaker 9 (02:33:48):
Buddy told me about what but he might want to
do some of the heck, yeah, but let me have
something to do, so I don't just stay at the bar.
I had nothing to do, you know, I'm emptiness and so.

Speaker 1 (02:33:57):
Anyway, and Junior go to a concert and fight. It's
it's weird. I've never thought about it. I'm going to
go to a stadium or a concert or a game
and just fight. I was like, yeah, no, not you,
but anybody. You're right, Gilte, I'm saying you're listening to
Hank Junior. I should be in my fields having a blast.

Speaker 2 (02:34:15):
I'm not fighting.

Speaker 13 (02:34:16):
One of the first times we went and like eighty
was said on one side, the other eight out on
the other side.

Speaker 9 (02:34:21):
And when we went to the bar and they.

Speaker 13 (02:34:23):
Said, no, we don't serve Drakes anymore. When he's on
stage and we all met up. We didn't even know
we have cell phollos back in. We were walking out
the door, they were walking out of the door.

Speaker 9 (02:34:30):
What's the point, you know?

Speaker 1 (02:34:32):
Yeah?

Speaker 10 (02:34:32):
So anyway, little a little.

Speaker 13 (02:34:35):
Western Wednesday for you, for you rednecks to go see
Hanklin juniors. I like it.

Speaker 1 (02:34:40):
Thank you for letting us know about that chronicle. I
love Gil. He's right though, man, who wants to go
to Hank William Junior. I want to go to who
wants to go? And you have ruin it and fight
for everybody who I have never understood that kind. I
think I'm gonna go get in a fight tonight. Sporting well,
why why? I mean good grade? Isn't that supposed to
be the time you're supposed to love life? Yes? I

(02:35:02):
love laugh, Yeah, I'm with you. It makes no sense.
I like Gil. Hey it Gill had a hell of
a run at the Chronicle newspaper too. Yeah. I came
out of that paper, brother. That paper's hired some talented
people over the years.

Speaker 5 (02:35:18):
Preseason ap Pole University of Houston Cougar's men's basketball team
number four in the nation.

Speaker 1 (02:35:23):
Good chance we'll have Calvin on next week.

Speaker 5 (02:35:25):
They will face this season number one Kansas, They'll face
them twice, Number two Alabama in Vegas. They'll face number
five Iowa State. They'll take on number eight Baylor twice.
They'll take on number ten Arizona and Tucson. We'll take
on number eleven Auburn at Toyota Center. They'll take on
number twenty Cincinnati twice, and they will take on number
twenty five Rutgers in Vegas.

Speaker 1 (02:35:44):
Have we really, man, have we really soaked it in?
Hopefully we have. We talked about it a lot, and
you know, we talk a lot of Cougar's hoops and
go to games during the season. Have we really thought
about what coach Sampson's done for this? I don't for this.
I don't think so. Program. I think we have, but
I don't think as a whole brave enough. They are
Kansas now there cany are.

Speaker 7 (02:36:06):
There.

Speaker 1 (02:36:06):
Yes, they're not a blue blood, They're not a blue
blood program, but they yes blue blood every year. Yes,
this is they they become. When you mentioned Kentucky and
Duke in North Carolina, guess what you better mention Houston?
Who have you mentioned more in the last five years,
Kentucky Duke or you of h Well, Kentucky and Duke

(02:36:26):
get mentioned more because of who they are. The better
program the last four years five years has been Universities
of Houston with that without question. Yeah. So it's just
what coach Sampson's done there and now we're just like, oh,
if they're outside the top ten, we'd be shocked and out.

Speaker 5 (02:36:41):
And and if it wasn't for two injuries over the
last two years, they go farther and they Saster and
uh Shed both got hurt in two years, two and
two years.

Speaker 1 (02:36:50):
I'm just telling you, man, what he's done. And they
always leave better dudes too. Yeah, good dudes come in great.
I mean, he's just he's a and they're loaded again
this year. He's phenomenal.

Speaker 7 (02:37:00):
Man.

Speaker 1 (02:37:00):
I love watching him do business with his team. It's incredible. Yeah,
I can't wait to get him back. It's a it's
a unique guy that can have as long as he's
been around basketball, that old school mentality, but make sure
that the new school guys, the the young players, Yeah,
feel like Kelvin's living the same life they are, meaning
that age group, right. He has an unbelievable way to

(02:37:21):
relate to everybody. And it doesn't matter your skin color,
what religion you come from, what your background is, what
good stuff you've been through, tough times you've been through.
The dude is good and as a coach and human
being and makes people. We ask our quarterbacks to make
people better and our coaches, he lives it. I freaking
love him. He embodies it. There's no question about it.

Speaker 5 (02:37:41):
That's going to do it. For the Sewn Salisbury Show.
He is Sean Salisbury. Our producer is Triple Emmanuel Elmore.
I am Brian Lilma. Thank you for listening. We're back
tomorrow morning at six a m. Don't go Anywhere. Next
up was stand Norflee Chris Gordy Coming up next on
