Wrapping up most of Week 8 around the NFL, the Texans took on the Colts in another clash prior to their first visit against them down in Indianapolis dating back to Week 1. In what turned out to be a nail-biter of a game, the Texans pull away from the Colts with the victory and following the games final score of 23-20. Now 6-2 and closely arriving at the mid-point of the season, the Texans still lead the AFC South division just ahead of the Colts, Jaguars, and the Titans. With the difficulty of the schedule inching closer, the Texans get ready to take on Aaron Rodgers and the Jets this week on  Thursday night following yesterday's slate of games. As the season rolls on and Houston continuing to grind out tough wins over tough opponents, is it possible that the Texans can lock the AFC South Division down before their BYE weekend arrives?

Speaker 1 (00:00):
I v The Shawn Salisbury Show continued talking about the Texans. John,
what's happening, Hey, good morning?

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Uh, great win yesterday. I still have concerns obviously about
the offensive line and all that, but but I wanted
to say Devin White really impressed me. But he looks
good out there. And you know, I saw his postgame interview.
He bought a good ten minute, uh you know, where
he's talking to reporters and everything, and they were asking him,

(00:33):
you know, he says, him and Tamiko Ryan seemed to
be having good communication. He he seems to like Demiko
a lot. He likes the teammates. He relates to him
because you know, Dimiko was a linebacker like him, and
he sounds like he really wants to put his pass
behind him and just you know, make an impact on
the team. And I tell you what, he looked impressive

(00:53):
out there. I mean, that's a that guy's a load.
And I like what he said. He says, I just
come here to lay some wood. So I love searing that.
And he said, you know, Demiko, he says that, he
says the philosophy just go to the ball. He says,
that's the way the defense works. They all have their
eye going to the ball. And he says that he
likes the he likes the philosophy and everything, and so anyways,

(01:15):
I just want to get kudos. I like, you know,
the fact that he got here, uh last week and
he you know, made an impact. I thought he looked
good at playing the linebacker position. And uh so I
just want to make that comment.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
Hey, John, go ahead, No, I was just going to say,
in a quick study, come step right in. Played aggressive?
Yeah he did, playing downhill foot Yeah. Yeah, he's an
off the off the ball linebacker and he that's what
made him great, scraping and running and going to the
ball and quite frankly laying wood. I was impressed as
well that that could be a legalized theft and then
a steel if you got you didn't get him, it

(01:45):
didn't cost you anything. And it's not it's not like
he's making eight million dollars a year. The guy's a
good player.

Speaker 4 (01:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
He sounded real humble in the interview, everything, like he
just really wants to just like you said, just put
us past behind. He's not going to dwell on anything.
He just wants to have an impact on this team.
And and uh, you know, he hopes that, you know,
there's a lot better days ahead. So, uh, I was
just very impressed. I thought he handled interview. I mean
he just yeah, stayed first long.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
Hey, John, I gotta ask you, man, Anthony Richardson not
very good. What I know you were high on him
when he was coming out of college. What what do
you think.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
I was high on Will Anderson?

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Yeah, I remember the Will Anderson but.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you're you're going back and forth.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
Yeah yeah, And it was the yah you know, And
I'm not I'm not trying to say that I was right,
but I was just talking about the accuracy. Dude. He
is so inaccurate. It is, it's it's unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
I agree, Yeah, he's he's uh. And you know, it
wasn't like towards the end of the like at the
end of the game, you know, I should have gone
out of bounds. Yeah, Grambling he ran down.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
And he made no attempt to He made no attempt
his awareness to coverage it. But I'll tell you what,
in the fourth quarter, he made a couple of frigging
great throws. That's that's the temptation. He makes great throws,
and he's got a big body. He's got great you know,
ability to scramble and by time. But it's the simplest
things that he's having trouble with, which is a concern,
no doubt about it. A good stuff.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Appreciated brother, Thanks appreciated John. Is your dog doing all
right with our singing? Is he okay?

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Yeah, he's well, you know, I just got in from outside.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
Okay, there hasn't heard it yet today.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Appreciated John. You go and let's talk to Reggie real Well.
You like you like you like? Uh, you like Anthon
Richards and body you think he's No, he's a big body.
You like the big body.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
I do like big bodies, especially when it comes a
guy who can move like that too. I mean, you
know thick, you know what I'm saying. He's a talented guy,
the probably man. The problem is due he makes the
simplest things look so hard. What do you always say
about what do you always say about?

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Simple? The simple passes?

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Make the ordinary play? There, you go, make the ordinary play.
He can't do that, No, he doesn't. He'll make some
extraordinary ones, but they those don't sustain you. You can't
live there. You got to live with the basic boring
play that you got to hit all the time.

Speaker 1 (03:59):
Salk to Reggie, Reggie, what you got on these Texans?

Speaker 4 (04:02):
Hey good, I'm good with the Texans. And John was
right on. I was actually gonna talk about mister white Man.
He was impressed yesterday. I mean for him to step
in and do the things that he was doing on yesterday.
He filled in for his year and and I'm still
wondering why Harris is not there, but man, they got
a good lineback of court. Hey, Sean, this's the thing

(04:24):
I want to ask you about. I mean, the Texans
was wearing that dude but out yesterday. Man, he had
to tap out. He was getting popped every play he
could get in. I'm so impressed with Petrie just the
way he's been playing this year. My question is you
is this one? Can we get a triple? He to
play some BG sometime, Man, I need to hear lit BG's.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Did you miss did you miss our show on Thursday?
We had throwback Thursday. It was nothing but disco.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
Yeah, but I still need and then I need you
guys to ask him about the bubble shorts that this
little trend that is going around. He should have had
eye full with the bubble shots if you guys haven't
heard about that. And lastly, Sean, I'm gonna give my
comparison with this group of quarterbacks. Hey, I'm very impressed

(05:12):
with Drake may Man. The dude remind me of young
Aaron Rodgers. So I think when it comes down to it,
I think this dude would be out of this group.
I know Daniels is good, but I like what may had.
He has it all man and with the Texans that
offensive line is Kenya Green still hurt? You guys know
anything about that because the last two years he was

(05:34):
out and just sitting there watching them every week. It's
just mind boggling to me. The plays he's missing and
he's not being able to keep up with the pass
rushers up the middle.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
Thanks Reggie. According to that, I mean he's healthy or
he wouldn't be out there. He's just not playing well.
So if he's hurt, nobody sees it. I can tell
you what is. His ego's probably a little hurt right
now because he's getting dominated and got his asset down
for a few minutes, sat down, So they've got to
get better there. Six and two. Imagine if they were
pass protecting just in the middle of the league. If

(06:08):
they were just right there, because they when Joe Mixons
in the day run block, they're going to have to
sew it up because these injuries, especially coming down, they're
going to need a little more time for separation. But
guy stepped up. Tank Dell Metchi made a big play,
his biggest since he's been here. So as far as
yards go, they've got a chance to be special. But
that you can't win a championship if your quarterback is

(06:28):
sitting on his ass a lot of times. And Stroud
was magnificent under pressure yesterday, really good. And yes, Devin
White played well and know Richardson can't tap out and
we'll get you some Beiji, so hopefully that covered it all. Yeah,
But Devin White, it was really impressive to see him.
He looks he looked closer to the Devin White at
Tampa than he did the guy who couldn't get on
the field at Philly. And another great move by Nick Cassaria.

(06:51):
If this pans out, because there's no risk in it,
it's a lot of reward.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
Devin White three total tackles, two of them solo. Said
he didn't know how much he was gonna play, and
he played pretty well. Debut for the very very impressive
So we will see. You want to smack some balls around.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
Tournament, I'm gonna go. Yeah, there starts at nine. Normally,
you know you don't have to get off to laft
the air, but I'm gonna go help them out and
uh then make a difference for a buddy who was
really good to me.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
There you go, I got I got some advice for you.
Don't suck no, yeah, to hit it close. And I
didn't go there. I'm not going there to lay up.
Take it one at the time.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
I'm not going there to lay time. I'm actually it's
a scramble. I'm not taking it one pett at the time.
I'm not didn't come here, No, absolutely not. It'll be fun.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
Dan Matthew's gonna join us. He just got here into
the studio.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
Danny.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
Who is it, Danny ball game? Disco Dan Matthews, Disco Dan.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
I don't know whatever it is. He's here and is
l sus. He's still reeling now. Danny's reel a little
bit as LSU Tigers. Yep. But I'm sure he's gonna
tie into him good to see you guys. I'll see
them hit him straight. We'll see you tomorrow day. Matthew's
going to join MOO. Continue on right here on The
