Speaker 1 (00:02):
Saulsbury old by Houston. Okay, let's do this.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Shawn Salisbury to USC true longtime friend, Shawn Salisbury.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
Bryan Lima, go Lobos. This is the Seawan Salisbury show.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
Your Houston Rockets. Take down the Warriors. They're headed to
the semifinals of the NBA Cup in Vegas. Bill Belichick,
the new head coach at the University of North Carolina,
got some Thursday night football action tonight in the NFL.
It's the Los Angeles Rams taken on the San Francisco

(00:42):
forty nine ers. MLB Winter meetings coming to a close.
So many reports, rumors, hot Stove about Kyle Tucker, Alex Bregman,
Sewn tripley, good morning was a little.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Bit of shit goo, Jalen Green knocking down Charity stripes,
Jabari Smith pumping home fifteen beating the Golden State Warriors
for the first time since eighteen forty. Yeah, you know
we talk about chips, Well, go get a cup, Go
get a cup. He's not just chips about cup a
cup and uh, Golden State.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
You know what they'll roll up in here.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
Don't roll up in here, your punk asses back, take
your take your back to the left coast.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
Take your championship window that closed down. I have Steve
Kurz talk about politics and get your ass out of town.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
He bitched, moaning complain per usual after the game last night.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Well well wait a second, you wait, you're telling me honestly? Yeah,
you know the key here, Jayalen Green had less than
fifteen points last night and still knock down those free throws.
That's see, That's where I know that they're getting so
much better. Is when you're a star player and shngguons
sh gun double double weight and happen held a triple
double weight to happen? Would they do at the end
block a shot? Now that Hey, your best player scores

(02:04):
lesson I mean score scores less than fifteen consistent player
and he's really Jaden Green's a star in the making.
He they he knocks down two free throws. So even
though he's not playing his best game, still knocks down
two free throws. I'll let you know the effect him.
The game's under one hundred, so you know you've got
to defend and then they defend the last one. Get
back down on defense and defend the last shot. So

(02:24):
as Steve kirkham Fitch and complaint. Oh, of course that
never happens never, He's never done that before. But that
which you saw to see winning games like that. Forget that,
it's just golden State. The fact that how they won
the game is that the free throw line at the
end and defending it, defending at the other end.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Love it.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
Congratulations Sam on the way to the semifinals. What Oklahoma
City thunder up.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
Neck h OKC is up next in those semifinals for
the NBA.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
Come.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Here's what happened pregame last night. Warriors coming to Houston.
Here's what the Rockets players got around, and there's in
their huddle circle.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Here here's what they did.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
Wors come out to ploy, Warriors come out to play.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
War come out to play.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
And that from the movie called the Warriors, one of
the all time great movies.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
Too. This scene is exactly. Oh that's funny.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
It was exactly the way it was was, Uh, I
love it. They came out to play and they went
home without it. That's Wris and the Warriors came out
to play and they won, just like in that movie.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
You don't mess with the Warriors. That was so funny.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
One of my favorite things about doing uh that I
loved in the longest yard. You know, the little guy
who was a snitch on that that's him, right, he's fast, Yeah, yeah, fat,
that's him. And it really oh yeah, same guy. Oh really,
I didn't know the same guy. And it's just.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
Like, oh, I remember him back in the day.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Unless I'm losing my mind what we talked about back
in the day when I the Warriors one of my
favorite I loved him growing up, right, it was awesome.
And then this guy is in the same room, like,
this is really cool.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Warriors come out to play ya, that's so funny. I
didn't know that was him. Man.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Yeah, well, you know, like I said, Steve Kerr, bitch
moan to complain about a call with three and a
half seconds left in the game, and this is baby back, bitch,
Steve Kerr crying all.

Speaker 5 (04:41):
Situation, eighty feet from the basket with the game on
the line. I've never seen that. I think I saw
in college one time thirty years ago. Never seen it
in the NBA. That is, I mean, unconscionable. I don't

(05:02):
I don't even just happened, you know, loose ball diving
on the floor. Yeah, eighty feet from the basket. And
you're gonna give got two free throws to decide the game.
When people are scrambling for the ball, just give them
a timeout, give them a timeout, and let the players
decide the game. That's how you officiate, especially because the

(05:26):
game was a complete wrestling match.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
You know, they didn't call anything.

Speaker 5 (05:29):
Steph Curry got hit on the elbow playing his day
on a jump shot, just.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Clubbed right on there. No call.

Speaker 5 (05:36):
So are you've established you're just not going to call
anything throughout the game. It's physical game. I'm going to
call it a loose ball foul on a jump ball
situation with guys diving on the floor with the game
on the line, this is.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
A go ahead, you know what, triple go ahead and
cut it. There's still forty forty more seconds of Steve.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
I don't hear him bitching. Yeah, I'll tell you.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
With Steve Kerr, here's what I want to and him say,
that's how you officiate. Don't tell us how to officiate. Yeah,
your coach, coach, you're a former player. I have a
lot of respect for Steve Kerr went in championships. I
disagree with a lot of his beliefs. Let's put it
that way, but I can compartmentalize. I've known him for

(06:23):
a long long time, but I can tell you this is.
First of all, don't tell how to officiate. That's not
your job. If you want put a put a uniform
on and go ref Now, bitch and complain, get kicked out,
get technicals. I don't care, but don't tell me what
refereeing is. Secondly, eighty feet twenty feet five feet A
fouls A foul now, I understand the situation where he's
talking about you let him wrestle and go. But if

(06:43):
you're wrestling and then they see a full on foul,
listens Goolden State's been getting calls forever, so friggin save it,
thank you.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
Stop the bitching and save it.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
You guys been milking calls and having them a tug
on your nuts officials for years. Draymond Green should have
been kicked out of four thousand games. He can kick
you in the balls and still play four minutes later.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
So save it, thank you.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
That team's been getting Hall pass after frigging Hall pass.
Now they're great, or they were great. They've been getting
Hall pass after Hall pass. He's been given more leeway
and leverage and all that than anything. Steph Curry, listen
you breathe on, Steph Curry. He was getting fouled d
They can do anything, So I don't really want to
hear in a semi final, in a quarterfinal cup game,
they're wrestling. You tell us how to officiate. Your team

(07:27):
got beat eighty feet or five feet if they think
it's a foul, it's found a bitch and complain all
you want, but I'll tell you what you got about.
We got about oh, seven hundred and fifty more calls
before before anybody's even in your area code. When it
comes to ref's kissing your ass. Okay, So save it.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
You.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
You have the most technical foul penalized a guy, and
you know how I respect Draymond Green game, but I
don't want to hear all of it because you guys
have manipulated the officials for a decade.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
So save Walton.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Into this building and if it was your building, you'd
come out of the thing and we'd have been called
for six fouls right off the friggin bat. So save it.
I'm so tired of his bitching and wine up this
year and you know, oh god, it's changed up. I
knew Steve when he was playing.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
I respect him when he was a player, and honestly,
he's been a hell of a coach. He's got a
or he had a super talent, generational type team. But dude,
he's shut up already.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
And he was a good broadcaster, good he's been good
at everything he's done. But he spends a lot of
time overloading his mouth with his ass. There is no doubt,
so save it because if anybody, for years, people have
been waltson into your building at Golden State in Oakland
and now in San Francisco, depending on what stadium you're in,
what side of the bridge, and you've been getting calls,
phantom calls and all that, and they've been giving you

(08:50):
leeway forever because you're the fair haired guys. You're the
You're you're the when you've heard the the darling of
the league, and then all of a sudden you became
the villain. So welcome to the NBA when you're not
as town as some other teams are. Now, yeah, and
your time, and you're a little older, a little long
in the tooth. Have you ever noticed that the older
Steve kerb bitches, I mean older he gets, the more
he bitches the more.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
Yeah, and you're supposed to get as you get older, Steve.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
It's like just up now, Hey, welcome to the rest
of the world, buddy, Yeah, welcome to the rest of
the NBA.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
Save it. He lives out of here.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
Put a friggin muzzle fantasy land anyways, with other things
in life here.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
Yeah. Yeah, you may make a comment on politics when
you're in your post post game press conference. You might
as well, because you do that all the time with
the refs and politics. Just weave them both in so
we can listen to you wine and complain. Again, just
shut out, Thank you God, to shut up man, dude.
He went on a literally a two minute rant. We
cut it off after a minute twenty because there were
still forty seconds off of him bitching about that call

(09:45):
last night.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
And you put it perfectly.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
Draymond Green probably should have been kicked out of the
damn league by now with how many technical fouls and
all the bs that he gets away with, or should
have had his ass kicked.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
There's that too, That's the first part. Kicked out of
the league is one thing. Taking an ass whoo and
from somebody is another. But yeah, shut the ups.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
You guess.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
Guess who doesn't get to complain about the way the
refs ref their game in this league?

Speaker 1 (10:09):
That guy. Yeah, okay, so just take it.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
They've literally got Scott Foster on the Golden State Warrior
payroll plus plus.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
Listen, you got as much chance to get to the
NBA Finals as me and you do. Matter of fact,
we could pop if the Rockets ever go, Wi'll at
least be sitting there. He can come sit next to
us because his championship ring run in Golden State is done.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
Done. Okay, it ain't happening. Finished.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
Rockets beat those Golden State Warriors last night ninety one
to ninety. I think it's the first time in four
years they had lost to the Warriors. Fifteenth straight times.
Fifteenth straight times.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
Phenomenal franchise. Steve's been a phenomenal coach. Like I said,
and I'm having a problem with people's opinion, but when
you're bitching about something that you've been getting every call
and his method last night was and it's quite frankly,
fairly brilliant. Why no, why does it pissed? I know
in the emotion, but he wants it to carry through
the rest of the season. Where oh, we can't do
this to Golden State when everybody else has been.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
Like, how do they get away with this? How do
they get away with this?

Speaker 2 (11:06):
You breathed on Steph Curry fowl Yep, you Draymond Green
can kick you in the balls and then you can
shive shove him with the shoulder and you're the bad guy. Yeah,
I mean so the truth is, you know how much
compassion I have for Golden State?

Speaker 1 (11:17):
None? Zero.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
I think it's hilarious that in that in that audio
that we played, he specifically says, oh, Steph, Steph gets
hit on the elbow on a twelve foot jumper.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
Oh he did? Oh oh god listen.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
Oh no, when Steph Curry plays golf and he's damn
good at it. When Steph Curry plays golf, they call
a foul, right, yeah, okay, the rest call a foul.
He's not even anywhere near a basketball court. So yeah,
you know what, just just save it, you know what, tyger.
He becomes Charlie Brown Want Want, while the school teacher
just white noise, stop it. Yeah okay, and the method
of your madness is done, and they tell you what

(11:50):
you're gonna get more frustrated you know why, because you
ain't winning another title, and it's gonna get more frustrating
and more frustrating and more frustrating. And but you've got
plenty of phantom calls go your way forever. So hey,
I don't want to hear it. Plus, you know what,
if you don't like it being close, we're in a
close game like that, they call a foul and give
a guy free throws.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
Guess what that means? Maybe you should extend your lead.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
Yeah, I'll just jump into the fray of everybody else. Well,
if you don't like the overtime, ru'll get a stop. Okay,
So well, if you don't like foul, how about you
get an eight point lead, So two free throws don't
matter at the bat at the end of the game.
Here's what it comes down to at this stage of
the At this stage, guess who's better.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
The Rockets are a better team of Gold State. Yeah,
that's the way it is. Yeah, the Old State's had
for fifteen and won the last sixteen times.

Speaker 4 (12:33):
Is that it?

Speaker 1 (12:34):
Yep? Well guess what it this time?

Speaker 2 (12:37):
And in the quarterfinal they go on to the semis
and it's I tell you what the other side it's
pretty fun to watch man the Rockets I'm talking about Yeah,
but I actually, I actually kind of it kind of
gets me excited when I hear Steve Kirk complain about this.
I'm not damn think he can do about last night.
I'll get on a plane and go home. I woke
up early this morning. I saw the I saw that
was like the first thing I saw was that the
Rockets won.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
But then I see Steve Kirk complaining. I was like,
you have got to be kidding me.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
What is this dude bitching and morning complaining about I
was like, did something happened in politics that he's upset
about and he wants to weave that into his post game?
Or is he actually is he actually complaining about the officials?
And sure enough, he's actually complaining about the officials. It's
rich man, It's rich Oh God, just shut up. Steve
Kerr Alprin Shin going in that game twenty six points,

(13:22):
eleven rebounds, Jabari Smith fifteen points, and Sean mentioned as
we got as we started the show this morning. Jalen
Green only twelve points, but he hit some clutch free
throws down the stretch off the bench. Amen Thompson with
ten points and five rebounds. Tary easton nine points and
seven rebounds of Rockets win ninety one ninety over Golden State.

(13:42):
They are headed to these semifinals in the NBA Cup.
They're gonna be playing Oklahoma City in Vegas. So good
for the Rockets. They improved to seventeen and eight. We
got a lot a lot to get to this morning
here on the Sean Salisbury Show. We've got to talk
about Kyle Tucker Alex Bregman. The hot stove with those
two players is steaming hot from yesterday.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
At the Winter Meetings.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
We've also got to talk about the Texans as they
get ready to play the Miami Dolphins are gonna be
without one of their offensive linemen. What does that mean?
Of course, they're still without Aziz al Shai. Here, we've
also got to talk about some college football. Bill Belichick
now the head coach of the North at North Carolina,
So let's dig into it. Let's talk Kyle Tucker next
right here on seven ninety
