Speaker 4 (00:14):

Speaker 1 (00:22):

Speaker 5 (00:27):
Rockets lose their fifth in a row Super Bowl this
Sunday five kickoff.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
Rockets done. I'm kidding, I'm cooked, Yes kidding.
Speaker 5 (00:35):
Josh Allen Win's the m v P in the NFL,
Seawan Tripley. Good morning, what's happening in Funky Friday here
we are?
Speaker 6 (00:40):
Good morning?
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Good morning. So I'm in New Orleans last night? Isn't
that weird? I'm doing this show Nola, and it is
a little weird. And the Manning's had a function this
it's round, it's it's pronounced uh rails, it's r a o.
It's a Italian steakhouse in New York with this guy
does a pop up and he doesn't all that high
end events like the Masters, and we had a blast.
(01:03):
But Manning's were like honored last night, and you know
Eli's and Eli was up for the Hall of Fame,
you know, and didn't didn't get in. And the man
it was the amount of people in that room last
night that were It was right after the NFL, the
NFL and the wards, you know, they had their function
there and we were there because we had a meeting
(01:23):
with the company last night. And but the food on
this I'm telling you, there was more good food and
they just kept bringing it and bringing it. It's the
best meatballs and sauce you've ever and big ones. Right.
I don't even know how to thank them for the
night we had in the phenomenal meeting, but the company
(01:43):
that we had in our table and it was just
a blast. And just seeing you know, it's what those
things are when you see your old friends that you
haven't seen in a while and just get to catch up.
It's always I liked the I like seeing my out
buddies you haven't seen in a minute. Got to you know,
(02:04):
we played Cooper Man and get to see Cooper talking
about arts last night and he uh was full of
laughs and it was great to see them. And we
got in about two thirty in the morning last night.
Flew back and I'm telling you right now, dude, it's
like you're talking about running on fumes with that food.
I feel like I ate enough food last night. Good
food like I'm going into hibernation now. I could sustain
(02:27):
me for like six months, only to get on a
plane and go do it again tonight. Dude, I am.
I'm like, eat and laugh and see good people. But
what a great night, and what a great event, and
what a what a class event that they put on.
I mean, it's not really it's an event, but it's
(02:47):
you know, it's like an event with twenty five business
meetings at different tables. Does that make sense? Yeah? Oh yeah,
But what a great man. That's the first time I've
had that food last night, because I've never I've never
had that restaurant New York, but they brought it to
New Orleans, and you I understand why trying to get
a table or trying to get into a place like
(03:08):
that would be a difficult task. And good conversation, good night,
good times have bal But it's good to be back
here in the morning, and it'll be good to be
back there tonight in New Orleans tonight. Yeah, only to
come back again tonight after that, fly back at two
in the morning to wake up and not do it
again on Saturday. Thank goodness. Please tell me you're not
(03:28):
training anybody tomorrow. The schedule will let me and then
I'm then I'm gonna go to Austin and see my
kids tomorrow. So it's we're all win three days. But hey,
you know what do you sleep in your dead? Yeah?
A wise man once told me you only live once.
That's exactly right, Yolo. Then I just wanted to publicly
thank the the uh just tonight for the company that
(03:52):
I'm with that that brought me there, but also with
the great company that we met with and exciting things
going on. But there was some food last night when
they were they brought food out and I thought midway
through the meal we were done. They k break. I
thought we were done, and then I looked down at
the the you know that special menu the have, and
(04:14):
it's like, we got six more things coming out. We
haven't even got the meat paste. We had put it
this way, the meatballs that were the size of a
softball or baseball honestly got and the saw unbelievable. After
I had that in two different kinds of pastas, I'm
thinking it was a but that was the appetier. They
brought steak and chicken and portabello mushroom and another pasta
(04:35):
and and I looked at I said, are you.
Speaker 5 (04:38):
I thought we were done. So it's like we never
made it to dessert. It's like when you get to
a Brazilian steakhouse.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
The right It was incredible and the food was so
good it was you had to eat it, you know,
even when you couldn't eat it, you had to eat it.
And such great company. But it was a great seeing friends.
But what what a what a night. And it's always
nice and the food even tastes better when you have
we wanted to reductive night with good meeting, but meeting
good people. But it's a reunion time at the super Bowl.
(05:05):
And uh oh, by the way, there's a game on Sunday. Yeah,
there is. There is a game on Sunday. And congratulations
to Josh Allen. And it went just like we said,
Allen first, Jackson second, not Alan Jackson, but Allan and
then uh then uh getting to you know, well who
was the Saquon Barkley, and then Joe Burrow and then
golf just like the exact order. And congrats to all
(05:27):
the you know, to Jared Allen and Antonio Gates and
Sterling Sharp and Eric Allen, but especially for me two
guys that I've known for a long time and love
Eric Allen, my buddy from San Diego, I worked with
ESPN and Sterling Sharp. I'm so proud and happy for
both of them. I know how how good of players
they were, but how long they've waited. And Sterling. If
(05:51):
Sterling Sharp gets to play healthy his whole career, there
may be an opportunity that he he's he's going to
end up I mean playing like he was. He's he's
gonna be the top three receptions of all time. Yeah,
phenomenal player.
Speaker 5 (06:06):
If you ever listened to Shannon Sharp talk about his brother,
he's in his Hall of Fame speech, he said, I
am probably the only person that will go into this
Hall of Fame and be the second best player and
my family.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
And that's a fact he said.
Speaker 5 (06:20):
Actually he was like two weeks ago on his podcast
he said, I would give up all my accolades. I
would give up every single thing to allow my brother
Sterling to be in the Oh.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
Yeah, he gave it. I think he gave one of
his Super Bowl rings to Sterling. But Sterling Sharp we've
had I talked to Sterling about I don't know, six
about eight seven months ago, six months ago. We had
a good long conversation and I said, it's time, isn't it.
He goes as Sean, I'm at the point now he
goes all as it will is disrupt my golf game
to go have to give the speech, you know, because
(06:52):
he plays like eight days a week in their seven days.
But I know deep down this mattered to him, although
he doesn't show much emotion, but I couldn't be proud
of him. And Eric Allen? Who's Eric Allen? Have you
ever heard You've never heard one word about self promotion
from the guy. And I'm telling you maybe is underrated
a corner and he was on that Philadelphia Eagles team
with Reggie White and Mike Gollick and Seth Joyner. I mean,
(07:15):
I'm with Buddy Ryan and then Bud Carson were calling place.
He was a lockdown, true corner and you won't meet
a classier dude. So I was so grateful for the
class that got in. And when you get two of
your buddies in it the same night that had been waiting,
I it's the emotion is almost like you got put
(07:36):
in last night, because I know what that call had
to mean to those guys, and last night. You know,
you get that call and to get it validated, I
think that's so friggin' awesome and I'm really happy. So
good night all around. Good to be back in this morning.
But I like seeing people win, and especially when it's
your friends winning and they've waited a long time.
Speaker 5 (07:54):
Speaking of Josh Allen, he's the first player in twenty
one years to not be selected First Team All Pro
but be the MVP.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
And listen, if Lamar would have won it last night,
how could we complained?
Speaker 5 (08:08):
Honestly, your MVP. It's not Lamar, Jackson or Josh Allen,
it's Joe Burrow.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
Yeah. Well, because of the record, you're not going to
make him the MVP, right, And if Saquon Barkley would
have wanted, who would have complained about that? Nobody?
Speaker 5 (08:20):
I think the top four you could have given it to. Well, Okay,
Joe Burrow is different because of the record, but Jackson,
Allen and Barkley, you could make arguments for all three
of them.
Speaker 1 (08:31):
We're kind of shaking, kind of whatever for Jared Goff
and he finished fifth and golf had a monster year.
Two hell, Jayden Daniels finished in the top ten and
congrats to him on his Rookie of the Year Offensive
Rookie the Year. It's just those nights seeing you know,
I like, I'm one of those people that roots for
people to win and be happy. And I couldn't be
happier for not only the guys who wanted, but two
(08:52):
of my friends getting in the Hall of Fame. I'm
sorry to Eli, but his time's coming. I didn't expect
Eli Banning to be a first ballot Hall of Famer. No,
we had that. We have a long discussion. Truth is,
he's not of famers. And it's not he played great
in big games too. It's not as slight on him,
but he's not. He's not. He's not a first bout
Hall of Famer. He'll get in, Yeah, it'll Pro Bowls
(09:14):
and Super Bowl rings and m VP and he's you know,
when you play your biggest games, in the biggest in
the biggest games, you play your best. He'll get in.
But I think that it would have been that it
would have been. I'd have been more shocked if he
got in first ballot than that he didn't get in
last night. But I can't wait till he gets in
because I know that Manning family will be awfully happy too,
(09:35):
and Peyton obviously it'll probably have the same feeling. They'll
there'll go about it different. They'll go about it joking about, oh,
I'm better than you know. They'll they'll add humor where
the sharp works. Like you said, Shannon, serious, he's he'd
give rings away and all that to allow his brother.
And what a what an emotional time that'll be for
those two. And I can't wait to hear the speeches.
Speaker 5 (09:55):
Uh are we ever going to get away from allowing
the media to be the award votes? Like the people
that vote on these MVP selections, like this is it's
the voting for the twenty twenty four NFL MVP is
selected by the AP fifty riders.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
Well, there's fifty guys. Fifty guys. I just as soon have,
like the Heisman Trophy some former MV Yeah, I'd like
to see Joe Montana vote. Yeah. Why why why shouldn't
he vote? Why shouldn't I mean, I've always said, and
I don't understand why former Hall of famers? Why why
why doesn't Anthony Munoz have a vote? He should? I
(10:35):
think he knows how to judge sensive line play, no offense,
to writers. He knows more about what an off what
what what what offensive? Lineman belongs in the Hall of
Fame more than the guy who voted, not saying the
guy who voted didn't know, but I just I think
you could expand it. But that's that's a pretty winning
the MVP. Think about that. You spend your whole life
(10:58):
wanting to be the best of what you do, and
when you somebody hands you the award and says, oh,
by the way, you're the best of the very best. Yeah,
it's the most exclusive group. When I say this because
there's only one quarterback that starts obviously other positions, there's
other guys that are playing I call. I tell guys,
it's the most exclusive. I gave a speech one it's
most exclusive, exclusive CEO group on the planet. There's only
(11:21):
thirty two of them. They me another business where there's
only thirty two of them, you won't find it right.
And then when you got that, I didn't say it's
the most important job, but it is exclusive. And to
think that among that and we've got some good ones
that you get to be crowned MVP, I'm sure it
meant a lot of Josh Allen but I'll guarant ask
to you that if you said, hey, dude, you'd be
playing this Sunday or the MVP award, he would have
(11:43):
turned the MVP award in and wanted to play this week.
Even though the best is when you win the MVP
and then your team goes on and win a super Bowl,
you do it in the same year. I mean, hell,
that's when you just put the cleets away and quit.
That's the way it's supposed to be. So congrats. You
could have given it to any of four five guys
the MVP, but he deserved it and there should be
no argument about it.
Speaker 5 (12:04):
This is my issue as we get ready to go
to break with the voting process. Josh Alla, Lamar Jackson,
Saquon Barkley, Joe Burrow, Jared Goff with your top five.
Justin Herbert got votes, Patrick Mahomes got Let's see what, Yeah,
Patrick Mahomes was six. He's middle of the road in
(12:26):
Dame near all stats for quarterbacks this season.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
Well, think about this.
Speaker 5 (12:30):
Sam Donald got votes, which I can I can see that.
Truth is Sam Donald had a better year than Patrick Mahomes,
so did Baker Mayfield. He got votes. Jamar Chase got votes.
I can make cases for all three of those. Justin
Herbert and Patrick Mahomes getting votes. I don't no disrespect
to those guys the seasons they had, you don't deserve
MVP votes at all.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Well, Mahomes is the goat going right now? Right he is.
I mean, we've talked about rarefied Air how good he is.
But it's so funny how we have this selective stuff
that when you're the end, when when you put up
great numbers, you get MVP votes, and that they it's
a numbers game. If it wasn't a numbers game, then
(13:09):
Burl wouldn't have got any votes because they didn't make
the playoffs. Right, So it's a numbers game. Yet all
wins don't matter, just how great they play well. Then
when the guy who doesn't put up great numbers didn't
have his best season but situationally is the best of
the world and Mahomes and they weren't gouty numbers this year,
but they won a lot of games. He finished sixth,
(13:32):
but his numbers weren't. The numbers didn't say six the
wins did, and the past says for sure. But I'm
not voting on how he in the past. The truth
is is much listen and Mahomes may go in and
win the MVPER and play out of his mind because
it's a big game and that's who he is, his DNA.
He's clutch, there's no doubt. But this year, numbers wise,
he four guys behind him, should have been ahead of him.
(13:56):
Not that it's that big. He finished six, not that
big a deal, but it just goes to show you
they love him because his numbers said probably not even
a top tenor No, that's that's my point and say, oh,
you got to put him in there. But they with
his they took the best player on the best team.
With a lot of other guys they take, Oh the
(14:18):
numbers were good. You see what I'm saying. It's kind
of selective. What's the criteria. Yeah, and I'll tell you
with the criterias, with that, he's the goat and he's
going to get like on the field, he's going to
get the benefit of the doubt, and he got it
again last night. Yeah, because in truth the numbers, there's
a couple of quarterbacks on there with numbers that didn't
make the top ten. You'd say I could actually put
(14:41):
them in there too. But you know, listen, once you
get past about the first three or four guys, five
years from now, nobody will know finish fifth. Yeah, they'll
know who finished first. And but a hell of a
run by those top five guys. You could have given
it to any of them, but Josh Allen played like
Superman this year and had to Yeah he did. Yeah,
you sure? All right, we'll get to break.
Speaker 5 (15:01):
We got a couple of guests joining us this morning,
Leonard Fournette at seven to ten, Mark Schlaer at in
the nine o'clock hour at nine thirty. We got some
Ashtros news to get to. Rob Manfred speaking of the
media about a couple of different things. We'll hit on
the rockets. But of course the NFL, the Super Bowl
is this Sunday. There's some stuff going on with the
Philadelphia Eagles defense. What is it that's next?
Speaker 2 (15:24):
The Seawan Salisbury Show continued.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
What you're feeling? I can't get jiggy with whatever that was?
Who was that Grand Funk Railroad?
Speaker 6 (15:35):
No Roy Ayers, Sean you heard of him?
Speaker 7 (15:41):
No?
Speaker 1 (15:41):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (15:41):
See yeah, nope? So do you what do you YouTube?
Triple like funky music from the eighties? Yeah, technically Yeah,
what do you.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
Think about the song? Play that funky music, white Boy?
I feel like it's kind of racist. I do too, Yeah,
I do too. Whitey does a lot of dumbs stuff
he does. Yeah, Whitey white He could be really stupid
at times. You know what I'm saying, Uh, why do
you sometimes screws up things to you know what I'm saying? Yeah,
(16:12):
but play that funky music, white Boy? Great cut though,
really when you really break it down, pretty good cut.
It's pretty good. Yeah, but who's counting? You know?
Speaker 5 (16:22):
Radio Row going on this or sorry, it's called media
row now because for whatever reason.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
The I don't want we don't want to leave the
riders out when it's radio.
Speaker 5 (16:30):
I mean, they got to make she conclude, they don't
want to hand the and the anybody any Tom, Dick
and Harry that has a podcast is at media Row
this week too.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
Who do you think? Who do you think pulls more weight? Tom,
Dick or Harry? I mean, and then you know when
you say it's why does Tom's name always have to
go first? That's true? Well, Dick, Tom and Harry it
doesn't ring as well and Dick Tom, but Tom, you know,
Tom's the headliner. Apparently Hey Tom Yeahliner, Yeah, of course
(17:04):
his name you know first is it Tom Dick and Hare? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (17:08):
Uh so media yeah, media rowh you got media row
going on? Well, Jalen Carter for the Eagles, dominant defensive tackle.
Apparently he's got some kind of virus and it's spreading
throughout the locker room for the Eagles. Well, it also
has made its way around media row. So whatever they
got going on, I'm actually really glad that we didn't.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
Go Cyrus the virus. Yeah, it was con Air name that.
What's his name in there? Ed ed Poe?
Speaker 5 (17:38):
Right, Cameron Poe. You think he's related to Edgar Allan
Poe might be in the movie. Yeah, he's I think
they've done a lot of poetry together. What's that? What's
the actors name? I call it the ap Cyrus the virus,
Cyrus the virus? What's the actors? John Malcovin, he's really good. Yeah,
good villain, very good villain and a really good comedian
like in the movies.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
Read with Bruce Willis. Yeah, and uh, Hellen Mirron really,
Gillen Keller and Morgan Freeman.
Speaker 5 (18:03):
You've heard of Morgo, I've heard of Helen Keller. Yeah,
I don't think she's heard you though. She hasn't seen me.
Speaker 1 (18:08):
No, she has not. Okay, she might have heard me.
I'm not sure she saw me. Rip man. Yeah, you
know that. Have you ever heard of Lizzie Borden? Is
this a DS nuts joke?
Speaker 8 (18:18):
No?
Speaker 1 (18:18):
Remember when Lizzie Borden gave her mother her father forty
wax and when she saw what she has done. Oh no,
she gave her mother forty wax. Uh huh. When she
saw what she had done, she gave her father forty one.
Look it up, Lizzie Borden like the milk. Yeah, b
O R D E N. Lizzie Borden. Here she is.
Check it out. Let me read me some of it.
Speaker 5 (18:41):
She was an American woman who was tried and acquitted
of the eighteen ninety two axe murders of her father
and stepmother in Fall River, Massachusetts.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
Yeah, Lizzie Gordon what had an axe? Gave her mother
forty wax. When she saw what she had done, she
gave her father forty one. You ever heard that phrase? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (19:01):
No, and the murder is still unsolved, by the way. Yeah,
I don't think Lizzie's alive anymore. How is she acquitted?
That's what I want to know. Well, if it doesn't fit.
Speaker 1 (19:10):
You must have quit. That's right. Look, we gave you
some inside of Lizzie Borden. I love to start to
this show today. Can you imagine? No? No, don't even finish.
That's eighty one. Wax gave her forty one when she
saw what she done, she gave her father forty one.
(19:30):
That's crazy. What's come on, Lizzie? Yeah, I don't think
you'd want to date Lizzie. Okay, what will we write her?
What do you think? Uh? She kind of looks like
she looks like she could give for eighty one Wax
to a mom and a step step mom and a dad.
She kind of looks like Bruce Jenner, Kaylen Jenner. Sorry,
(19:53):
I'm waiting, hold on, put it this way anybody now
if there was somebody else at this date age and hey,
who Lizzie board you get out now exactly get to
step Is he still Bruce Jenner?
Speaker 9 (20:05):
Is he?
Speaker 5 (20:05):
Or is he Kaitlyn Jenner? Is he back to Bruce
because of all the new laws? He's a he's a
hardcore conservative? I think yeah he is. But I'm saying
like I mean, he did it, but he doesn't know
he's Kaitlyn. He's Kaitlyn right.
Speaker 1 (20:18):
Oh yeah, former greatest athlete in the world, literally next
to Jim Ford. That's crazy. He got done. But he
doesn't think that women should be having to compete against.
Speaker 5 (20:29):
Men men, right, Well, that's illegal now, and the nc
double A also came down and changed their rules too.
Speaker 1 (20:34):
Amen. Yeah, amen, seems pretty simple to me, right for
women's rights as they should all these years, and then
turn right around and take it from and let some
dude come in and play and take away their scholarship.
That's said. There's I'm not even talking about the section.
I'm just talking about the sex change. Do what you
got to do. It's not bothering me. Do whatever you want.
(20:58):
That's that's up to you. Whatever, whatever of the law,
whatever the law allows you want to do.
Speaker 9 (21:02):
Go.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
I mean, it's it's hard for me to it's a
little hard for me to soak in, but I don't.
I'm not be rating. I'm not mad at it. But
what does bother me is these women that have worked
their ass off, don't they deserve to compete against their own.
Speaker 5 (21:20):
Yes, it's it's it's very it's literally as simple as yes,
no black and white.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
Yeah, it really is. It's that simple.
Speaker 9 (21:26):
Yea.
Speaker 1 (21:27):
So menst men, women against women. And I don't have
a problem if they gotten to a point where they
put the league together for people. Whatever you want to do.
But that's that the women deserve, after all this time,
to get their scholarships competing against somebody who's on the
level playing field. And I don't quite understand why anybody
(21:48):
has a problem, well why they think that that's wrong.
Speaker 5 (21:51):
I've never understood it. I don't either. I don't get it.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
I it's it's not like we're not mad at the
it's just saying, okay, if you're have done that, then
go peek, go go go compete against like the people
who've done the same thing. Put it. You know what
I'm saying, Give them a league. I don't care. I
don't have problem. Sign a contract on TV and they're
playing everywhere. I don't care about that. That's fine. That's
people do things, and that's fine. But you shouldn't be
(22:17):
able to go in and take somebody scholarship, yeah earned it.
I've never I just never understood these thought process of
why you shouldn't get to compete against. Why why it's
not a level playing field? Everywhere is a good thing?
Yea amen? And now it is all right, let's get
to break.
Speaker 3 (22:36):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (22:36):
The awards in the NFL were obviously given out last night.
Derek Stingley Junior was up for a couple of them.
Where did he finish?
Speaker 1 (22:43):
That's next?
Speaker 5 (22:47):
The Seawan Salisbury Show continued, Hey, there was the NFL
Awards show last night. Snoop Dogg had a hilarious monologue.
He has things to say about Bill Belichick. It's great.
You got to have a listen hear.
Speaker 10 (23:03):
This because I've been a football fan for a long
long time. I mean, I remember back when the Cowboys
was good. I remember back when the Chiefs was bad,
and I remember.
Speaker 1 (23:21):
What was it?
Speaker 6 (23:22):
Bill Belichick's girlfriend wasn't even born yet.
Speaker 1 (23:32):
That's cold blooded, But you know what, that's cool. Comedy
back the right comedy where he gets offended when somebody's
in your kitchen. I love it, man, don't you love it?
You feel good about it? How old is she? Twenty four?
Something like that? Yeah, in her twenties, mid low early twenties,
mid twenties. Yeah. Hate, You don't hate.
Speaker 5 (23:54):
When you start to type in Bill Belichick on Google. Yeah,
you know, other stuff starts to populate, like Bill Belichick age,
Bill Belichick news, net Worth unc first thing to pop
up Bill Belichick girlfriend.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
He loves her, he loves her, Yeah, I bet he
loves him.
Speaker 5 (24:11):
Yeah, she is officially twenty four years old.
Speaker 1 (24:14):
Why are you she does love her, she loves him.
Speaker 2 (24:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (24:16):
I bet Rob loves that bank account too. I mean, honestly,
if you're twenty four years old and never mind, no.
Speaker 6 (24:26):
Go ahead, goo ahead, Brian, No, no, no, no, no, no.
Speaker 1 (24:29):
Will you say why would you want an old man?
He's seventy two years old. Maybe he brings it. He'd
better be bringing a couple blue darts with him. Maybe
he doesn't need the dart. Come on, he might not
need a dart. He may not need a dart. Maybe
because she's twenty four he doesn't need a dart.
Speaker 6 (24:46):
He probably don't.
Speaker 5 (24:47):
They are forty eight years apart. Well, I think that
they are forty eight years apart. I think they have
a lot in common. There's a lot of Yeah, there's
a lot of a lot of life experiences they can together.
Speaker 1 (25:00):
Oh yeah, especially for her. You know, she wants to
talk about this the sorority mixer they had and Bill's
talking about life. No, I don't listen, it feels a
little different. She loves him though, and you won't she
won't admit it. Why you don't think older guys could
pull obviously man former cheerleader, twenty four years old Jordan.
(25:28):
She woke up and decided she liked a little bit
older man because you know, the younger guys are immature
and ain't bringing it, you know, yeah, plus the guys
two stroke jokes. So they finally got somebody who may
be able to bring it a little more than than
somebody her age.
Speaker 5 (25:40):
Plus the you know, these these young these young dudes
these days, you know, these damn five inch shorts with
their thigh tats.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
Yeah, they're they're selfish, and they're the broccoli hairstyle. Don't
hate guy lights and their stupid ear rings, you know.
And you know what, maybe she wanted some intellectual conversation.
I can imagine maybe she decided, I'm sure I want
a man who's gonna, you know, be a little longer
in the sheet, yeah, and who gives me conversation and
we can talk about our life experiences together. What was that?
(26:08):
What was that? Famous woman's name.
Speaker 5 (26:11):
She was blonde, Anna Nicole. Thank you there you go,
Anna Nicole, billionaire.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
She loved him.
Speaker 5 (26:18):
Who was her old ass husband RP. He was like
in his nineties, Jay Howard Martin O eight. That's it's
one of her husbands.
Speaker 1 (26:25):
She loved him.
Speaker 5 (26:27):
Yeah, this guy, Yeah it was Jay Howard. Oh yeah,
I bet, I bet this was a swell relationship. That
looks great, isn't it.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
She loved him. She loved as your placing you know what,
your shallow? You're playing it like I see it, you
place it on love. I mean, this is about love.
She might have walked in one day, and she might
have been the reason he was able to keep banging
it out at his age, because she just decided to
love him, love him a little harder than you might
(26:55):
love somebody. Briant, your shallow. There was a sixty sixty
year age between those two, and just because he was
collected his retirement when she was in the womb, what's
the big deal?
Speaker 5 (27:07):
Sixty year age gap? She actually, dude, she was working.
She was here, she was working at Rix Cabaret. Here,
she was a dancer. Yeah, well check that out.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
Yeah, dude, I don't understand why why are you? Why
are you denying love?
Speaker 5 (27:27):
In nineteen eighty eight, a lonely man in his eighties
Damn was sitting in the audience at Ricks. She approached him,
started talking and they became good friends. That man was
her future husband, Jay Howard Marshall.
Speaker 1 (27:41):
Well, I'm just I don't want to know something. Does anything?
He's worth about eighteen million at the time. Listen, be
honest with how much. I'm sorry. That was his father.
Speaker 5 (27:49):
He inherited his father's wealth at eighteen million and then
and also inherited his steel company, and that's how he
became a multi multimillionaire.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
Hey, what's love more than a lappie a dry dock
and being sixty years older than your girl in a
strip and meeting him at a strip club and eating
some roast beef there and at the buffet some wings, yeah,
little wing, some you know, some roast beef. What maybe
some boloney? Come on, dog, I want to know what, seriously,
(28:22):
is there anything that says love more than dude?
Speaker 5 (28:25):
She married this man when he was eighty nine years
old and she was twenty six.
Speaker 1 (28:30):
How about that date he was in a wheelchair. She
loved him for real, yes, for real. Well, then she
wanted she was, She wanted probably be a caretaker, loved him,
probably allowed him to enjoy the final Did he outlived
Did she outlive him? Because she died at an earlier age,
she still she outlived him? She did? Yeah, yeah, but
(28:50):
she loved him. Yeah. I bet they probably had good conversations.
She wanted to. She became I'm sure a little bit
of a caretaker. She didn't get half his half his
money by the way spelled out. I'll tell you she
loved him. She wasn't. She wasn't out chasing money. And
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (29:06):
She argued in court that before he died, she's he said,
you will get I promise you will get half of
everything that I have.
Speaker 1 (29:16):
She loved it. And you know what, I don't know
what says love more than than a than a lappie?
I mean, what says more love than a lappie? What
says what says love more in a in a well
a seven but a dance facility, a dance facility? What
(29:38):
what says love more than a dance facility and a lappie?
Speaker 6 (29:46):
Brad said, loved first, yes, stop.
Speaker 1 (29:49):
One time, that sometimes you just find the one. Yes,
and when you're eighty nine, Brian, are we going to
be rate you?
Speaker 5 (30:00):
If I'm eighty nine, excuse me, when I'm eighty nine,
if I'm single, for what.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
Reason, I'm not gonna have more.
Speaker 5 (30:07):
I'm gonna have an I'm gonna have a stable, all
age range.
Speaker 1 (30:13):
They can have all my money.
Speaker 5 (30:14):
I'm gonna be blue darted up, but I'm not gonna
deny it.
Speaker 1 (30:17):
But you hate oh yeah, you've become more. You hate kids,
bring them all a bust one of them. You hate
kids that don't want to get married. There's a really
good chance to be single at eighty Okay, good, give
me a stable. But just why can't you just love one? Brian?
That's That's what I'm trying to do. Why can't you
just love one? You want to be single? First in
(30:38):
my life? I just, you know, I feel kind of
hurts that you're so shallow. An eighty nine year old
man found love at Rick's a lappie took him to
a new level.
Speaker 5 (30:50):
All I'm saying is seventy two year old Bill Belichick
and twenty four year old Hudson Judson or whatever her
name is. Jordan Hudson is this o of envy, spite,
hate or love for me, Bran, a lot of there's
a lot of anger in your voice about these guys
that are pulling your age woman.
Speaker 1 (31:08):
Yeah, put it this way. The guy could guy pulled
an on Nicole Smith before you could. Belichick pulled a
twenty four year old before you pulled her. So who's
laughing now? I who's ten toes up him? Are you? Exactly?
(31:29):
But it's the shallow part that really cuts me deep.
Before seven of the morning, I thought you, I thought
I thought I knew you better than that. Be rating
a seventy two year old man with seven rings or
whatever he's got, and he's got a ring for his
I think he turned one into it. Yes, yes, I
absolutely do. If he didn't, that would be the greatest ring.
(31:53):
Hey you got one? Yeah, it's a hula hoop. No, yes,
I have one. It's my sixth Super Bowl rig that
I got. I got custom fitted. I got it fitted.
How do you like that? You like that diamond encrusted fit?
How do you like my drip? But it's intended, But
I got it.
Speaker 5 (32:08):
I got it fitted for for what I'm you know,
ready to go because I just.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
But I think Tripley and I are on the same page.
Your utter disdain, disrespect, hatred, jealousy, envy, anger, just just
flat out disrespect for a man who pulled something you
you didn't.
Speaker 5 (32:31):
For Howard, for j for j Howard Marshall, or for
Bill Belichick. Both, okay, both?
Speaker 1 (32:38):
Yeah. I mean I don't know, I have a little
I'm distraught over this because of you. I thought, Tripley,
did you think you know? I don't even know who
you are anymore? Okay, unbelievable, man, I'm sure our listeners
are saying the same thing. Who can't find love and
a wheel share? At Rick's, Well, we got a sided
of right there. You're watching her. Get your watching up
(33:00):
On stage, he ordered the medium rare roast beef soundch.
Come on, dude, I'm serious. You know they have They're
like a little prime rib soundch the medium rare? Yeah, yeah,
maybe you know what, maybe a little blue cheese on
your side. What mean you've been I don't This is
just what I've heard. Diamond to the main stage. Diamond
(33:22):
on deck on deck? Yeah, Carolyn, you're on deck, Savannah,
Trixie Tricksy, you're on deck here at Rick's cabaret, Tricksy, Hey,
make sure you tip your waiters, Tricksy. I think I
could do that, John, I mean I do. I want
(33:44):
to be the public address announcer for lappies. I want
a guest appearance. I do. Hey, Hey, Trixy, Trixie, you're
on deck, followed by Savannah. Savannah, you're in the hole.
I mean, fellas, get those all ready. Diamond is on
the main stage. Tricksy, you're on Diamond. Yeah, for the
(34:05):
next five minutes.
Speaker 5 (34:06):
For the next five minutes, lot dances five dollars.
Speaker 1 (34:11):
Lot days is five dollars forget to tippy waitresses. I
actually like it, Rick Caret, I like to say I
like the name Savannah, so I probably should throw Savannah to.
Speaker 5 (34:18):
The seven one, three, two, two, five, seven ninety. We'll
get out to the phone lines next. It's for stalk
seven ninety. Sean Salisbury Show continues. Talk to Chris, Chris,
appreciate you hold good morning.
Speaker 1 (34:36):
Yeah, no problem, Brian.
Speaker 11 (34:38):
Yesterday there was a lot of my homes talk and
it just got me to realize that my dislike for
him is up there close to my dislike for Lebron James.
You know, it's not that the refs are constantly giving
them crucial penalties on third down to keep the drives going,
which I am going to be looking to see how
(34:59):
many how many flags are thrown on third down to
keep their drives alive on Sunday. No doubt there's gonna
be a couple. That's been the pattern. But my dislike
from Mahomes is not his success. It's the way he
puts the defense in a position consistently to do I
hit him? Do I not hit him? I mean, Brian,
(35:21):
you reference to play in the playoff game against the
Texans where he held up at the sideline on his
twinkle toes and the Texans defensive player pushes him and
I was expecting a flag, you know, the way he
flailed his arms and you know, like a soccer player,
you know.
Speaker 1 (35:40):
Falling like Len James, flopping.
Speaker 11 (35:43):
Like Lebron James flopping. I mean, those kinds of plays
makes me really dislike him. I mean, I've played a
lot of sports in my life. I know you guys
have right and there's there's all kinds of unwritten rules,
and Mahomes doesn't give a crap about those unwritten rules
when it comes to running to the sideline and letting
(36:08):
the defensive player know, you know, showing good sportsmanship. Hey,
I'm gonna run out here, you know, let's let's live
to play another down. He rather puts himself in a
position to get a flag all the time. He's looking
for those flags. And so that's that's my dislike. And
I know it won't happen, guys, but I really wish
(36:29):
somebody would enforce him one good time, just to let
him know that they're not going to be playing around.
So hopefully Philly went.
Speaker 5 (36:38):
J'all have a great weekend, appreciate it to Chris, get
up for chest, big dog.
Speaker 1 (36:43):
We're here for I'll slander Patrick Mahomes all morning, Sean.
If you want overrated, well, of course, yeah, just kidding,
just kidding, of course, of course you're gonna slant them
all morning. I mean, you don't like older guys dating
younger women. You've used discounted love. You don't like lappies.
You don't like a lappie. I mean, I mean, I
(37:07):
don't know what happened to you. It's Friday. You should
be happy, great day, best day of the week. Get
your mouth first. Why don't you do that? You've got
some chocolate in my mouth. Oh, we know chocolate. It's
a chocolate a bar, chocolate protein bar called Barbells, and
they're awesome.
Speaker 8 (37:20):
Man.
Speaker 5 (37:21):
You know you've had it's literally the best person chewing
while I was talking.
Speaker 1 (37:27):
Bar Bells. Barbells. Yeah, we need to get it. We
need to get some pub for those guys. I take
it back, bare Bells.
Speaker 5 (37:31):
Bare Bells send a couple thousand boxes to us because
they got all these duke flavors to know. Have you
had the birthday cake? Oh my gosh, I have boxes
but at home. Actually this is the chocolate the dough.
Speaker 1 (37:42):
Yeah, but I I uh so, I didn't mean to
be chomping. That's all right, dog. You could probably see it.
Hopefully it didn't sound too blatant on there. I don't
like to do that in somebody's ear. But you're you're
just you're disdained for a lot of people that are
just trying to try trying to be better in life, Brian,
don't you agree, tripley It's incredible how your your hate
(38:04):
for people that just want love peace. They want to
sit around like with their legs crossed, just to sitting
in a circle, just being kind to each other.
Speaker 5 (38:13):
Like Indian style? Yeah, and that kind of racist. Do
you ever think about that by calling them Indian style?
Speaker 1 (38:18):
But isn't it respect because when you see them sitting around,
what was it like in the movies with the peace pipe,
you know, when they're sitting around. I don't know if
we if we got to the point that we were,
you can't say that now either. Are they bringing the listen,
let's hope so they did they if the if the
if the Redskin tribe wants it back, bring it back.
(38:39):
Damn right. Yeah, I don't. I don't know. I've never
even thought about should there be Indian styles? What we've
called it when we were growing up?
Speaker 9 (38:48):
Right?
Speaker 1 (38:48):
What was It's all I called it? You would cross
your legs and.
Speaker 5 (38:51):
There was also like what was it like when you
I give you something that like no, no, no, give me
a back?
Speaker 1 (38:57):
You're like an Indian giver. That's probably that's worse than Indios. Yeah,
that's all you use as a kid. That was contos.
Speaker 5 (39:06):
Plus when you're usc people are doing that tomahawk chop, dude,
we got to stop that man. Really, you got that
guy on a horse and you know like that white
that white trojan horse that runs out looks like a
Clydesdale kind of grayish, bluish.
Speaker 1 (39:21):
You know, what are we doing? Yeah? I mean, but
who's getting the Atlanta Braves, the Florida State seminoles, and
the US he Trojan's mixed up? I mean, it wouldn't
be you. It wouldn't be you. It's just you know
what you're getting your proging, your thought process is getting
skewed because you hate love. You're like, hey, you hate love,
you want you want fighting.
Speaker 5 (39:41):
You realize that people are probably gonna catch onto this, right, No,
I think they think that you hate love.
Speaker 1 (39:45):
That's what I'm saying. People are gonna catch onto it. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (39:47):
Yeah, it's just like when you when the first year
Year one people caught onto the yoga pants.
Speaker 1 (39:53):
You know, next Brian opened your arms, stop it, d
open your arms and welcome somebody that's different than you,
a little older, pulling girls you'd like to pull that
you can't. I mean, you know, put some put some respect,
you want to put more on here. Who's who we
got to call in the hotline. We gotta go somebody
who probably is mad at you for for uh, somebody
(40:15):
who's probably mad at you for telling eighty nine year
old men that they can't pull. That's probably why you're
you're utter hatred towards society. Okay, so Leonard's early. We
don't have Leonard till what time it's supposed to be
seven to ten.
Speaker 5 (40:34):
Looks like we got him, got him early though, Well,
we gotta go to break, how I was say, Yeah, tripley,
let her know that we're gonna take a quick break.
Speaker 1 (40:41):
Because we didn't expect him till seven ten. Yeah, tell
her we got three three, what is it? What's the break?
Four minutes? Yeah? Tell her after the break. We'll get
him on a segment early, but we didn't have him
scheduled till seven ten, and you need to let me
know what I got it.
Speaker 5 (40:53):
Yeah, all right, So we're gonna be welcomed, uh, welcome
in by NFL running back Leonard Fournette.
Speaker 12 (40:58):
Next ab E Houston ATVHD two Houston, iHeart Radio station.
Speaker 4 (41:06):
And the Rocket Sports Talk seven ninety your home for
your home teams.
Speaker 13 (41:15):
Salisbury, Salisbury, Houston.
Speaker 1 (41:20):
Okay, let's do this.
Speaker 2 (41:22):
Sewn Salisbury.
Speaker 3 (41:25):
To usc Truth, longtime friend, Shawn Salisbury.
Speaker 2 (41:28):
Ryanl Lima, go Lobos.
Speaker 4 (41:31):
This is the Sean Salisbury Show.
Speaker 5 (41:36):
This year's Super Bowl excitement is kicking off early. National
nonprofit organization Rebuilding Together is once again teaming up with
Low's for their thirtieth annual Kickoff to Rebuild event in
New Orleans. During the event, local volunteers will be providing
critical repairs and enhancements to homes and community spaces around
New Orleans. So now joining us to discuss this initiative
(41:57):
from Rebuilding Together as Marine Carlson along with NFL champion
running back Leonard Fournette.
Speaker 1 (42:02):
Yes, Leonard and Maureene welcome in making a difference. This
is awesome, Leonard, great to have you on again. My man,
we get to do this every Super Bowl. We'll get
to football in a second. But this is such an
important thing you're doing with Low's. So how did you
get involved with this, Leonard? And to be a big
part of.
Speaker 14 (42:19):
This, Well, this is my second time, you know, my
first time I pinted out we're building together in Arizona.
Now we're doing it in my hometown. When I'm from
New Orleans, Louisiana born, and he's helping out a local playgroundhere.
I'll played that as a younger kid, Saint Rock in
the community and also just thinking not just we're building together.
(42:40):
Also Lowe was for coming in and helping us also,
so there's a great thing for my city, for the community.
Also doing a big weekend for the super Bowl, and
we're representing a major, major way.
Speaker 1 (42:52):
And Maureen, let me get to you about this. How
does it, aside from the obvious what Leonard was playing out,
how does it you know, go deep dive into helping communities.
Speaker 15 (43:03):
We're building together is in communities every day. We're clearly
here this weekend and happy to be, but we're in
communities every day trying to make sure that people are
on fixed incomes that have hazardous things going on in
their house, so leaky roof, no heating, that kind of stuff,
serious things that can pose a real challenge in terms
(43:23):
of being safe in your home. We are there too,
at no cost, with the help of organizations like Loves
and individuals listening today, where we can go in and
help these people. So it's an exciting time to be
here in New Orleans. But we're also doing this across
the country every day.
Speaker 1 (43:39):
And Maureen, with this, you know, the why is pretty
obvious making a difference, but I would imagine the emotion
you see from the families and people you're helping has
got a hit different, doesn't it.
Speaker 15 (43:53):
Oh, it's unbelievable. Actually, I wish you could hear some
of the stories. People are in such desperate need, living
through horrible conditions. Sometimes that's because, you know, a crenatural disaster.
It could be a veteran who's return. It could be
someone with disabilities whose home no longer suits them and
they're really struggling and they don't know where to turn,
and then they call us and somebody like Low says, yeah, we.
Speaker 1 (44:15):
Want to help.
Speaker 15 (44:16):
Individual donor like you says we want to help, and
it changes their lives completely. The emotion is I don't
even know if you can put it into words exactly,
but it's unbelievable to be able to do this and
help people, help them thrive, and then in doing so,
help their communities change and thrive.
Speaker 1 (44:34):
And Leonard back to you, Leonard Fournette with this as
well as Maureen Carlson. Leonard, you know, and we'd talked
to you about it when you were talking about Arizona,
but now, as you mentioned, this is hometown for you.
Speaking of emotion, I mean, you've seen your hometown and
you know what's going on. And to see this difference
that you guys and Low's are making, it's got to
(44:55):
be emotional for you too, my man, doesn't it? Sure?
Speaker 14 (45:00):
We're building together and loas you know, I wish we
had them during Hurricane Katrina, you know. So it's just
a lot of things that goes part in our lives
that you think about. And I wouldn't be where I'm at,
you know if it wasn't for Katrina. Katrina made me
who I am. But at the same time, I think
(45:22):
we're building together and also loads partnered with them. It's
helping a lot of families who never had that chance
to rebuild their lives, you know, when it comes to
the living state and not getting the quality help they needed.
They're receiving now that these partners I have are coming
together and helping out making a big difference in communities
(45:44):
such as why I used to live at as a
child and where the younger generation who are up next
living at. So I couldn't be more proud of.
Speaker 1 (45:52):
And how do you, Maureen. I'll let you go after
this marine, but how do you how do you guys
in the Lows choose the community you want to go into.
I mean this has got such bandwidth. I mean it's
endless the difference you guys in Low's can make and
are making. But how do you choose the community like
for next year? What's the next one? And how big
(46:13):
can this actually be? In paying it forward?
Speaker 15 (46:18):
Low's has been a partner of rebuilding together for thirty years,
and so we pick communities where there's just great need
and it is. You'd be surprised how many people we
have on waiting lists, how many people need help or
living in hazardous conditions in their own home. So over
the that thirty years, we've helped thousands of people together
(46:40):
and we hope to continue to do to help many
many more across the country.
Speaker 1 (46:44):
Every day difference making awesome. I know football is on
a lot of people's plate, but this is life changing
for so many. Marian, I'm going to jump in with
Leonard on some football. Well, Well, Maureen, first off, football fan,
who you got in the game, Maureen, who you like
to be there?
Speaker 15 (47:02):
So I'm just hoping for us, We're hoping right maybe next.
Speaker 1 (47:06):
Year there you go, new coach. You never know, there
you go, you never know. That's exactly right, Maureen, thank
you so much, and what you're doing with Lows and
rebuilding together and making a difference, and in this year
in Leonard's hometown, Leonard, let me get to you, my man.
You've played in a lot of big games yourself, and
in a time when they seem to have devalued the
(47:27):
running back with the way they pay them, there ain't
no devalue in the running backs this year. Like Derrick Henry,
what he's done, Joe Mixon here and now the guy
who played such great football in Saquon Barkley. You tell
me you be the defensive coordinator, how are you going
to stop him?
Speaker 14 (47:45):
Well, it's gonna be hard, man. You know it's for me.
You know, I've known since he first came into the league.
You know, that's my younger brother. And the scene of
things he's doing now, he's doing now he've always has done.
It's a high, high standard and now he's getting the
he's getting he deserves. Play on a great team. It's
gonna be it's gonna be tough, man, because they run
the ball well, they have a good defense. Uh, they
(48:09):
have a great coach. So it's hard. It's gonna be
hard to stop him. It's gonna be hard to stop
Patt So it's gonna be a good game and the
whole world is waiting to see what's gonna happen. But
as a football fan and a guy who's played, who
plays in the league, it's gonna be interesting.
Speaker 16 (48:25):
Thats up?
Speaker 1 (48:26):
What makes him? Literally? I mean, you were a big
power back with some wiggle, and this guy is different
because he can beat you catching it and he seems
to always hit the home run. It seems like every
week there's a fifty or sixty yard run. So let's
you and I discuss how how do you stop him?
I mean, if you're putting nine guys or eight guys
at the line of scrimmage, then you get those guys
singled on the outside. So how do you do You
(48:48):
got to be able to tackle in space? What's the
number one thing you got to do against the back
like him in a game of this magnitude.
Speaker 14 (48:56):
On the monos stopping his feet in the hole. Don't
don't let them get a run and start close the
gaps for the defense stopping them. It's like what we've
done right now, you know, you have to rebuild your
whole game plan, like we don't. We're building to together.
We built a game plan and stop them.
Speaker 9 (49:16):
Uh. And that's about it, man.
Speaker 14 (49:18):
I mean it's hard to stop once in a lifetime
generational talent. So I hate to be the guy to
have to tackle them, especially on his birthday. I think
his birthday is alo.
Speaker 2 (49:28):
Oh is it really good?
Speaker 1 (49:29):
Yeah? There you go. What a celebration it could be
for him. And you know, Philadelphia a couple of years ago,
although he wasn't there, got beat in this. You know
this is a rematch. So let me flip to the
other side before I let you go. I know you
got a million of these and you guys in rebuilding
together is making a huge difference. And I know people
want to talk about it. But on the other side,
Kansas City's offense kind of been up and down. Their
(49:49):
defense has been really good, but they're situational football and
it just seems like they make enough place to do it.
Do they have it in them to do it one
more time on Sunday? And do you expect them to
three pete?
Speaker 14 (50:02):
Uh? That's that's it's hard because you know, everyone loves history.
I would love them loving on the three pet but
you know, I like Sai Kwan. I know what he
went through strata years. Uh he deserves it, and not
saying Pat Travis all those guys, Chris Jones doesn't deserve it.
But it's gonna be a good one. Guys like me
who love football just want to say a good matchup.
(50:24):
Hopefully it comes down to the wire.
Speaker 9 (50:26):
That's what I'm hoping for.
Speaker 14 (50:27):
And I think it's gonna be a close game.
Speaker 1 (50:29):
Yeah I do too. And you know, you know a
pretty good quarterback named Tom Brady and the goat. But
let me ask you the games, the games on the line,
there's a buck twenty to go, when you got no
timeouts and you're down by six, who are you in
the huddle with Brady or Mahomes show? Brady still still
(50:52):
a no brainer for you? Yeah, still no brainer.
Speaker 14 (50:55):
You know he's the goat. And when I tell people,
when it comes to preparation with Brady, he knows it
all man, even better human being. It's my brother and
uh ay, bro I play. I play the best quarterbacks
and the lead ever.
Speaker 9 (51:11):
So I'm proud to.
Speaker 1 (51:12):
Say that, Yeah, you made his job easier too, because
a good running back sure makes passing a lot easier.
My man, when you gotta when you got it, when
you got to defend, when you got to defend that.
For more information, guys, make sure you visit Rebuilding Together

Leonard Fournette's hometown right there in New Orleans and Louisiana,
(51:35):
and you guys are making a great difference. Maureen, thank
you very very much. And Leonard, it's always great to
catch up with you, my man. I hope you enjoy
Super Bowl Sunday, and I know this matters a lot
to you, what you guys are doing with Lows, And
congratulations to you and to Lowe's from making this difference.
And I hope you have a great weekend and we'll
talk to you again soon. I appreciate it always that's
(51:56):
Marine Carlson and Low's involved and building together. And Leonard
was on with his last year. Remember Brian talking about
Arizona and what an emotion it's got to be. You know,
we all go back to our hometown, Some go back
to tougher hometowns, and some go back to hometowns that
have built. Well, it appears that in Leonard's hometown they're
building it. They're doing it right and changing lives and
in some cases probably saving them as well. So thanks
(52:18):
to Leonard Fournette and Maureen Carlson will come back and
discuss a more super Bowl and have some laughs. It's
always great to get a great guest on who understands
and he was unequivocal. It was like, there's no no question,
games on the line. He wants Brady, give me Brady
instead of my home goat. I don't think there's much argument,
even though some want to create one. Twelve in New
England was pretty good. Yeah. Sports Talk seven ninety rolls on. Boy,
(52:42):
you're back. This is the Sewn Salisbury Show. You beat
at it.
Speaker 4 (52:51):
All right, Sean, what are you hearing out there now?
The Salsbury's Takeouts takeout on the Shawn Sells Show. Stive

Speaker 17 (53:24):
Morning, Brian good morning, Sehn, Brian, I watched the whole game.
Speaker 1 (53:28):
Not a good one for the Rockets, Buddy, they lost, but.
Speaker 3 (53:32):
I watched the first quarter of it.
Speaker 5 (53:34):
Okay, Well, Brandon, you just said you watched the whole game.
So is it the first quarter of the whole game?
Speaker 2 (53:39):
The whole game?
Speaker 1 (53:40):
Okay, good for you, proud of you on the New Couch. No,
we didn't get it.
Speaker 9 (53:46):
We don't have it, tom Ah.
Speaker 5 (53:48):
Okay, perfect, just in time for Super Bowl Sunday.
Speaker 1 (53:52):
Yeah, what's on your mind this morning, Buddy Mastros? What
about him?
Speaker 5 (53:58):
I'm ready for the which one?
Speaker 14 (54:02):
The spring training game?
Speaker 1 (54:04):
Okay, Hey, we're getting closer.
Speaker 2 (54:06):
Yeah, we're getting close.
Speaker 1 (54:08):
Less than a.
Speaker 5 (54:08):
Week until spring training or excuse me until uh pictures
and catchers report, Brando, get your mind right.
Speaker 1 (54:17):
Yeah, I'm ready for it.
Speaker 5 (54:19):
Good, have a good weekend, Brandon Joyce. Are you gonna
watch the Super Bowl?
Speaker 7 (54:25):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (54:26):
Ah, hurt a little hesitation, Sean, I don't know. You
think he's gonna watch it. I think he's gonna watch it.
I do join on that new couch. Brand We'll talk
to you on Monday.
Speaker 2 (54:33):
Right you tell?
Speaker 1 (54:35):
I mean you're pep talking, Brando. Gotta figure it out.
Dog you. Uh, he just told you though, he said
what game? He said first spring training game? He let
it rip man. Yeah, Brando, you started to play. Hey,
he started to I feel a good. It's good debate
going back and forth with Brando. Yeah, I mean it's
(54:55):
your rapport. It's great camaraderie. Damn right, damn right. For
the steak out. Minim Park is no longer. It is
now dyke In Park. The signage came down, dike In
Park put their new one up. What do you think, off, Uh,
(55:15):
it's awfully minimalist. It would It looks to me like
when a guy should wear a double extra large and
it's a medium. Yeah. I wonder why the sign is
so small. I don't know. On the side of a building.
It looks like you gave a tic tac to a whale. Yeah,
I don't. I don't get it. I mean, like I
(55:35):
said that, it's pretty and I'm not being it's pretty basic.
I don't think it. I mean, just from me, I'm
just talking about the sign. Nothing, not the name, just
the sign. It's an underwhelming sign size wise, it doesn't pop.
I don't think. Am I wrong? I'm just told from
(55:56):
this picture I'm seeing Now, maybe I'm being missed. Maybe
it's maybe the picture. No, no, no, here it is. Yeah,
I uh, let me zoom in. It feels like from
more than like two hundred feet, you wouldn't be able
to see it. Yeah, I'm just I guess the pizazz
that I was looking for in there. But maybe they
want the minimalist look and they just want to downplay it.
(56:18):
But if you got signage up there, I'd want to
make it big and goody so the world could see it. Right.
That's just my that's just my perception from it. Excuse
me from my vantage point. Yeah, okay, from my crosshairs,
I think it looks terrible. I'm quite honest with you.
It's not. It doesn't move me. No, no, And I
(56:39):
don't care what the ballpark's called. That's not the name.
They care because they're spending money. Yeah they're getting that,
But I'm just talking about the thing. If I'm spending money,
you're gonna damn well know what the name of my
park is, and you're gonna see the signage. It just
feels like it's it. I guess. I feel like it
could be about twelve sizes bigger. Does that make sense.
Speaker 5 (56:59):
Yeah, it's it's the blue looks looks great with that
lime green too. You know, Pops, it looks terrible.
Speaker 1 (57:09):
Why are you down online? It looks terrible. It looks terrible.
Let's be real. I said that. It's just to me.
It feels like somebody slapped a sign up there. They Hey,
we didn't get the big we'll just put the small
one up. Just just put the small enough. Yeah, I
mean yeah, I mean, you know the feeling when somebody
says I didn't get the big one to just bring
the small on one. Yeah, yeah, I mean you know
that's not you, it's me. I get it. It's fine, dude,
(57:33):
But doesn't it feel like, hey, wait a minute, that's
like forty feet too small. I just hang out up,
We'll be good. I don't care, will be good. Looks terrible, man,
I don't know, man, I was looking for it to pop.
I was looking for a little a bigger size. You
know the feeling, don't What are the kids saying? Uh
(58:00):
roll aura, Yeah.
Speaker 6 (58:03):
They're they're really saying that. My people don't they know
how to.
Speaker 1 (58:10):
Sounded?
Speaker 6 (58:11):
Really really know people my age?
Speaker 1 (58:13):
Whoa, that's you said the first time?
Speaker 5 (58:16):
No back clarifies my people, my people, my age.
Speaker 18 (58:21):
I'm just saying, Brian, is that what the young kids
are saying?
Speaker 6 (58:25):
My people, we don't say that.
Speaker 19 (58:26):
Whoa, he's doubling down on it. He said his people,
his people in my age range. Yes, nobody uses like
a knight.
Speaker 1 (58:40):
It seemed like a knock on whitey. I feel like
it was a knock on white that's just kind of
the way it hits that that's usually not triple a
style that's usually reserved for you, but not exactly exactly
man hit the hit the sounder. Hey, yeah, but do
people your age know how to even I mean.
Speaker 6 (59:01):
I promise.
Speaker 19 (59:04):
That's why it doesn't have any aura.
Speaker 1 (59:07):
I can't picture that age group saying that.
Speaker 6 (59:10):
That's what I'm saying. No one's saying that.
Speaker 1 (59:12):
I mean, you know, I get the mid and it's
you know, it's there, coming up with whatever you know
jargon you use. But aura is not one that I
think is a go to. No, no aura, it has
no I just called it has you know, it doesn't pop. Okay,
it doesn't move me. Not likely to say that than yeah, aura,
(59:34):
I mean, it doesn't brick you up. You know what
I'm saying. I mean you like to brick. Do you
know what I'm talking about? Right right? You did it
sound like whoa, let's backtrack on triple A. It sounded like,
let's back up here, triple There's a little hint of it,
you know, kind of like he was throwing stones at
the double white here.
Speaker 5 (59:51):
I feel I feel like it was a dig.
Speaker 1 (59:54):
Yeah, I kind of a little bit. Yeah hurt, didn't it? Yeah?
Actually it did? Cut it did. Motions are running. Let
me talk down on one and you know what, you
know what, let me triple e on a fright, Let
me be me, just let me be me.
Speaker 5 (01:00:10):
Well wise man once told me, just be you because
at the end of the day, everyone else is taken.
Seven eight here on the Seawan salth ratio, my good buddy,
doctor Seuss.
Speaker 1 (01:00:22):
Yeah that's that. I don't think that's what the kids
are saying, though, I'm saying, what what was your phrase?
Speaker 2 (01:00:28):
Again?
Speaker 1 (01:00:29):
Just be you because at the end of the day,
everyone else is taken. Yeah, nobody's throwing that cheesy say
it out there anymore. Who came up with that cheese
mo some some.
Speaker 5 (01:00:38):
Yeah, my good buddy doctor Sus, wasn't it. I call
him Seuss dude, you just you just completely just that's right.
Speaker 1 (01:00:45):
You just got you because what that was the hammer
down on right, And that's a SEUs saying that's a
good use. You see it all the time. He gets
credit for it. That's my bat on suits all right, Yeah,
go ahead, I love sus man. Do you call him
doctor or just sus? What's up? Sous suside? My dog
(01:01:07):
puts some respect on sus dude. Okay, green eggs and ham,
all right? Have you're actually had green eggs and ham?
Damned rights? And I have it. I mean I'll add
some green coloring on Saint Patti's Day? Who doesn't want
some green eggs?
Speaker 7 (01:01:21):
Man?
Speaker 1 (01:01:22):
Saint Patty Day with a nice cold green beer. You
know what I'm saying. It felt, but let's not bury
the lead really hurt what Tripoli said to us, but
mainly to you. I think you know, you know you're
a basic white guy. Yeah, you know what I'm saying.
There's no doubt on that pretty you're pretty white. You
know what I'm saying. I can't con I am pretty white.
(01:01:45):
Do you know anything about country boys perfing?
Speaker 7 (01:01:47):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (01:01:48):
No, but I know a guy that can tell me
about it. Do you know anything that a country boy
can survive country with the k boys with a Z.
Those insurance claim suck, don't they. Country Boy's Roofing will
help you navigate them. You know what else sucks? Price gouging.
Go down to the Super Bowl and ask if a
(01:02:08):
T shirt getting price gouged all day long. Now call
Country Boys Roofing or go visit them at COUNTRYBOYSROOFINGLLC dot
com and ask them if they are no. The answer
is on a full roof, an estimate when you want
to get it done, a thousand dollars discount when you
mentioned my name. But there's the trump cards. You know,
no pun intended. Don't start tripping one thousand, five hundred
(01:02:31):
dollars off when you're military educator, first responder and rightfully so.
Now you can't double dip. But that's not a full roof. See,
what they're trying to do is make sure that you're safe, protected,
and if you ever need a repeat customer, they'd like
it to be you as well. It's Country Boys Roofing.
They will go anywhere in the Houston area and proper
(01:02:51):
anywhere you want. Then there's no job that's going to
be too big or too small for them, and they're
going to make sure they get it done right. And
if they don't, they'll make sure they do. But they will.
I'll get it done right because I know John, and
they are now a proud member of the Better Business Bureau.
Country Boys Roofing does care. Everybody says it does, everybody
show it. And that's Country Boys Roofing at a time
(01:03:12):
when you need him. Country Boys Roofing is there. Country
with the K Boys with the Z family owned, locally
owned and operated right here. Country with the K Boys
with the Z Country Boys Roofing l LC dot Com and.
Speaker 5 (01:03:30):
We The Shawn Salisbury Show continues. New signage going up.
You guys ready for the best part of the show.
Speaker 1 (01:03:41):
What's that? Yeah? Oh you guys know? Yeah? What is it?
You're Alex Bregman update. This will be a short update.
Speaker 5 (01:03:49):
Bob Nightingale reporting yesterday. Free agent third Basement. Alex Bregman
still has no interest in a short term contract and
seeks a six or seven year deal.
Speaker 1 (01:04:02):
Ruh, when's he getting it?
Speaker 5 (01:04:06):
He has one on the table, six for one fifty six.
Speaker 1 (01:04:12):
When's he getting it?
Speaker 5 (01:04:14):
We're less than a week away from Pictures and Catchers
reporting there are several Astros pictures that are literally going
down to West Palm Beach in four days, six or
seven year deal. You have one on the table, and
at the point, like I'm so just it's you're not
getting thirty mili dog.
Speaker 1 (01:04:34):
So if it's a six year deal that's on the
table here and he wants a six year deal and
he's not getting it from anybody else where's he gonna
get it? He said he wanted it. It's here, it's
it's it's it's sitting on a piece of paper. Everybody
else unlet's say, unless they renegged on it.
Speaker 5 (01:04:51):
And not that. Not that I haven't heard that though,
if you not, from what I understand, Actually, I've heard
the complete opposite. I've heard that they actually bumped up
the offer, and I heard this two weeks ago. But
Aria Alexander of KPRC two reported last night the Astros
have improved their initial offer to free agent Third Basement
Alex Bregman. Two sources telling KPRC two, however, that improved
(01:05:11):
offer is unlikely to get the deal done. According to
a source. All right, so they've up the offer. It's
it's reportedly the only six year deal on the table.
He wants six or seven but it's still not enough.
Who's going to give it to you?
Speaker 1 (01:05:24):
Then? Well, when does the when does this late in
the party? When did this late in the party? Did
in the past? Now, unless you're just a guy that
you've turned him all down, when you're a week away
from pictures and catchers reporting, when did all of a
sudden somebody jump up and say, well, we'll give you
(01:05:44):
seven or eight years, six seven years for two hundred
and ten million dollars or two hundred million or one
ninety When when does that happen? Isn't listen, I'm not
saying the wells dry. I can't imagine there's eight teams
in the well though right now? Yeah, so he it's
so weird. I'm not a short time I want a
long term deal. The team that you were raised by.
Speaker 5 (01:06:08):
It's here, it's been on the table, it's literally been here.
Speaker 1 (01:06:11):
T here's what he wants. He wants a long term
deal for about thirty more million dollars over the course
of the contract.
Speaker 5 (01:06:17):
Don't you think if that was a possibility, it would
have already come.
Speaker 1 (01:06:21):
Well, right now, teams are now going to start focusing
on getting themselves ready for spring. They got to focus
on their current rosters. I'm not saying he'll ever be this,
but at some point in time, you become the Oh,
by the way, afterthought, Oh, that's right, he's still a
free agent. We're worried about our team, like a coach
says when a player holds out. What do you hear
(01:06:42):
an NFL coaches say all the time? Or I'm coaching
the guys that are here. If you spend all your
time worried about who's not there, you're doing a major
disservice to those who are.
Speaker 5 (01:06:54):
We hear it all the time. I'm worried about my
guys that are in camp. I'm worried about my guys
that are here at spring training.
Speaker 1 (01:07:00):
Play you like Breg. I don't need to qualify this,
but you love, we love, we love love to have
him here. He makes a team better. But I will
tell you this, I will tell you this. You got
to push and go on without him. Yep. You must
approach this as if he's not coming back, and maybe,
just maybe you might discover that you don't need him. Yeah,
(01:07:22):
hate to say it, hate to say it.
Speaker 5 (01:07:25):
This is this whole saga of this free agent period
for him is getting to the point where it's just
absolutely ridiculous. You have reportedly you have short term deals
three to four years from the Cubs with some opt
outs where they would frontload it, which would get you
to that AAV that you want. You have a long
(01:07:48):
term deal that's been here, six for one, fifty six
for twenty six MILLI year AAV. You can manipulate it
however you want. You can frontload, you can do this,
you can do that. You don't want the short term,
but you want thirty million. It's not coming with the
long term. This is just a you're in your and
you're less than a week away from pitchers and catchers reporting.
I don't know if this is a pregnant thing. I
don't know if this is a Boris thing somewhere in between.
(01:08:09):
Who knows. But if all these reports are accurate, this
is just ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (01:08:15):
Yeah, then you start to wonder is he really Is
he to the point where he is pricing himself out
that he's not getting this, that he's actually I know,
you got to think highly of yourself and your game,
but is he The combination of him and boris getting
to a point where it's eye rolling, saying you're not
getting it, not worth it? I mean, is that is
that what the public's going to start to say? I
(01:08:37):
guess is my point. I think they're already saying that.
Speaker 5 (01:08:41):
I saw this report come out yesterday and I saw
a good majority of Astros fans are like, dude, who cares?
Speaker 1 (01:08:46):
Move on? We're tired of this. We're over it now.
Speaker 5 (01:08:48):
Think about that Alex Bregman, everything that he's done for
this organization, the Pillars, as Dana Brown has told us
numerous times, the engine that that that gets the Astros going.
He told us that last year. Are they're tired of this?
A lot of people are tired of this. Move on, dude,
meaning meaning not not mean deal done? Yeah, get the
(01:09:09):
deal done side somewhere and go in to spring training.
If it's not the Astros, go get the bag. Okay,
well this is it's a country points like, dude, this
is ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (01:09:17):
I'm with you. What do you want? Man?
Speaker 5 (01:09:20):
You want a six or seven year deal? Okay, it's
been here from the Astros. It's literally your best offer.
Or you can go do the short term just like
Pete Alonzo does. But if you don't want the short term,
then what you want be a realist.
Speaker 1 (01:09:33):
It comes down to this. I guess they still think
we're two hundred million or bust and you will bust
on that. Yeah, and you're not getting it. You're not
getting here. And I I don't think that that anybody's
stepping up that like now, all of a sudden, somebody
blows it, blows out an ankle at third base early
(01:09:54):
in spring training. If somebody will overpay, if you're holding
out for that a desperutine because he's nobody's filling The
guy's a player. But we might be getting to the
point where we're thinking a little too highly of what
the actual market for him is. I don't think there's
a I don't think that. I'm not thinking the market
is not two hundred million worth. No, he's just not
(01:10:17):
especially at six or seven years, it's not going to happen.
He's just not getting it. His production, unfortunately, offensively, had
he had a monster year this year and been in
an MVP talk, he would have already got it. His
offensive production is the reason he's not getting paid. Make
no mistake about it. Is recent and that doesn't mean
he can't be great, But those listen, this is an
(01:10:39):
analytics team. Look at the metrics, the analytics yep, what's
it telling you? The numbers say his offensive career is declining.
Let's hope that he can regather because he's a Listen
and the first the first sign that tells me Alex
Bregman's offensive careers declining is is year seventy walks less.
(01:11:02):
That guy's a walking and and and pressure the quarterback
and push the quarterback quarterback the pitcher, same thing, good quarterback, pitcher,
push him deep in the cane. Continue six at bat,
I mean six pitch, seven, pitch, eight, pitch nine, pitch
and then get walked. Work the count, get walked. The
guy in forty plus walkses all last year, yeah, forty four.
(01:11:25):
That those walks are reserved for a guy, quite frankly,
who does not have a good eye right when Alex Bregman,
I when those eyes are not when he's not getting walks,
I almost feel like that's the first sign that something's
wrong with his game, because the guy such got such
great plate discipline and getting his money that he wants. No,
(01:11:46):
he's just not seven three seven ninety is the number
to join.
Speaker 5 (01:11:49):
We will continue this discussion of Alex Bregman and get
to your calls. Next right here on the Sean Salisbury Show,
it's time for the Specks, Wine, Spirits and finer Foods,
Pick of the Week and Drink the Week. Super Bowl
Sunday is just two days away, and the pick of
the Week is gonna go with the Philadelphia Eagles to
win the Super Bowl. It's gonna be hard to take
(01:12:10):
down Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelcey. But the way that
Sakuon Barkley runs the football, Jalen Hurts with his feet,
AJ Brown and Devonte Smith, Let's go with the Eagles
to win the Big One on Sunday. And when you

Speaker 1 (01:13:37):
We want to wait.
Speaker 4 (01:13:38):
Sean Salisbury continues on seven ninety rob what's up.
Speaker 20 (01:13:44):
Hey, good morning fellas. Hopefully I don't lose you on
driving in the middle of downtown in a bunch of buildings
right now, but just wanted to get in and ask
you guys. A couple of quick questions on the whole
Bragnant thing. You know, I haven't called into comment on
it because I kind of feel like we're beating a
dead horse with it, but uh, you know, I mean
to to y'all's points, it's it's it's at the point
where it's kind of like, I don't get it, because
(01:14:05):
the bottom line is for what Bregman's asking, it's he's
asking for a full time salary with upside, with high
All Star potential, and as much as I hate to
say it, he hasn't been that guy for the past
three years. He hasn't been anywhere close to the top
of the All Star ballots with his first half performance.
And it's it's your no team is gonna want to
(01:14:25):
pay full time money for a high upside, high potential
all lack of an All star guy.
Speaker 1 (01:14:30):
I should say.
Speaker 20 (01:14:32):
And as you get older, the risk for injury, as
we saw last year, only goes up. So it's it's
kind of like, well, now you've got two risks thrown
in there. Your production hasn't been there for the first
three months of the season the last three years, you're
showing signs of getting older and having injury risks, So
why wouldn't you take the deal on the table.
Speaker 1 (01:14:50):
And here's here's my question for you guys.
Speaker 20 (01:14:51):
As we get closer and closer to the season, the
teams that have made the offers, including the Astros, you know,
it's it's kind of like supplying demand, right. The demand's
obviously not there. So as we get closer and closer
to the season, he's going to get more and more desperate.
Are these teams that have made offers so far and
put them on the table, are they able to pull
these offers back and say, nah, now now time is
(01:15:14):
on our side. Yes, we're not even going to give
you that.
Speaker 1 (01:15:16):
Yes they can. So there's no signature on it. They
can do whatever they want. It's not like, hey, man,
you we agree, we said here's the offer. They can
snatch that thing as quickly as they want if that's
what they want to do. There's no doubt.
Speaker 20 (01:15:29):
I'm history is shown. You look at the Korea deal
and that didn't work out for him. I just I
don't get it. Like Reregman. Again, I hate to say it,
but you know, kind of pull your head out of
your own rear end, dude, and either make the decision,
take the signing or at least show me some confidence
and take a short, short term deal and bet on
yourself next year.
Speaker 1 (01:15:46):
Okay, And you know it's interesting, Rob, before you go,
and Brian, you two is not the music? You too?
Just you too. You know what I'm saying is think
about this. Korea is last year here he played his
ass off and he still couldn't get his He still
couldn't get his. Bregman slow started, never really came around him.
(01:16:07):
He hit twenty six oarns, but didn't it would he
hit two sixty you said, Brian, somewhere that to sixty
two something like that. Yep, and never really came around.
So I don't I don't know. Like I said, I
know you love him, Rob, We all love him great,
we want him. But the truth of the matter is
there also comes a point of come on, man, you
give I mean worth is one thing. I mean, well,
how you feel about yourself, it's great self esteem, But
(01:16:29):
if you got to look at the real when it
gets the nut cutting time, yeah, you're not getting that
money they're paying. If they're paying, they got to pay
on production, and production has been considerably lower than you'd
want him the last three years it just is.
Speaker 20 (01:16:45):
Absolutely again, if you're gonna you're not getting money you
want this year. At this point, it's time to either
take the offer while it's still there or to.
Speaker 9 (01:16:53):
Make confidence to take a short term.
Speaker 5 (01:16:55):
Appreciate you, Rob. We uh, service was going pretty bad.
So just w we heard all this stuff, Riginald. That
was good stuff. Rob stuck to wan Wan, what's happened?
Speaker 21 (01:17:04):
Hey man, I need to tell you thank you, Brian
four because I get to take it easy today. Boss
keeps hearing you singing. He thinks there's something wrong with
the forklift. So he tells me, hey, check the forklift
out today. And I know there's nothing wrong with this,
So I know you telling me.
Speaker 1 (01:17:21):
You tell him there is something wrong with the forklift. Yeah.
Maybe maybe you'll get a week off next week.
Speaker 22 (01:17:27):
Yeah, yeah, So I appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (01:17:30):
Hey man, I'm trying to help out the working man.
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (01:17:32):
One, you're a man of the people. That's what I'm
talking about. One, I appreciate your big dog. That's great, dude,
I love it. That's great.
Speaker 1 (01:17:42):
We'll get to tell you what he does. He wons
the day off. See what I did? There is that
one two or three exactly. I like one. I like it.
He said to Boss that singing something's wrong with it.
I got to go. I love it.
Speaker 5 (01:17:56):
Let's get into the eight o'clock our Sena, Andy and
Ran you guys are up next.
Speaker 1 (01:18:01):
We'll continue to talk about Alex.
Speaker 5 (01:18:02):
We'reging hey coming up at nine thirty, Mark Slaith, I
guess when he gets done with his show, because we're
literally watching him right out live on TV.
Speaker 1 (01:18:09):
He's done with the show. It'd be great to have
him come on here, get off that show. Mark, come
where it really matters. Come on over here, come over
here with any with you. Yeah, let's go. Yeah, that's
coming up at nine thirty. You're not gonna want to
miss that.
Speaker 5 (01:18:20):
We'll also hit on a little bit of Rockets, and
of course we're gonna break down the super Bowl later
on the show. Let's continue discussion about Alex Bregman next.
Speaker 12 (01:18:29):
Kdm E Houston ATDs HD two Houston, an iHeart radio station.
Speaker 4 (01:18:33):

Speaker 1 (01:18:38):

Speaker 4 (01:18:40):
This is Sports Talk seven ninety.
Speaker 1 (01:18:46):
Saulisbury, Houston. Okay, let's do this.
Speaker 2 (01:18:53):
Sewn Salisbury.
Speaker 3 (01:18:56):
To usc truth longtime friend shown Salisbury.
Speaker 2 (01:18:58):

Speaker 4 (01:19:01):
This is the Sean Salves Very Show, Sean souths Very,
Ryan Alima, Emmanuel Elmore.
Speaker 5 (01:19:10):
Rockets lose their fifth in a row super Bowl this Sunday.
Josh Allenen's the MVP in the NFL, talking to Alex Bregman. Reportedly,
the Astros increase their offer, but it's still quote unquote
not going to be enough. Bregman wants a six or
seven year deal. Bob Nightingale tweeted that out yesterday. It
was also reported that the Cubs offered him a four
(01:19:32):
year deal with some opt out. So who knows, man,
who knows what the hell's going on?
Speaker 6 (01:19:35):
Hey guys, Yeah, that segment. We had a call who
his name was Tim.
Speaker 18 (01:19:38):
He wanted me to ask you, guys, what do you
do You guys think that with Bregman's contract, the money
that they are offering him, you guys think that they
should take that money and put it towards the pitch
something like the pitching staff like that.
Speaker 5 (01:19:50):
Uh No, I think if if you're not going to
get Bregman and you're still willing to do that, if
you are willing to put up Okay, first of all,
here let me let me break it down a little
bit differently. I think that the contract that they have
offered Alex Bregman six for one fifty six, the only
person that would get that type of money would be
Alex Bregman. If Alex Bregman does not sign, I don't
(01:20:10):
believe that Jim Crane would offer that money to anybody else.
They are still trying to stay under that second threshold
of the tax the competitive tax balance or can competitive
balance tax whatever the CBTAM. Yeah, so if they if
he doesn't come back, they're not going to spend any
more money. I think they still need to upgrade the
outfield a little bit more. Even though they got Ben Gamba,
(01:20:32):
I still think they need another piece. They need another
another player. But I doubt it's going to happen. So
would I like to see them use that money to
go above in uh that second balance or that second
tax threshold.
Speaker 1 (01:20:45):
Absolutely, but it's not gonna happen.
Speaker 5 (01:20:47):
Let's be real here, Jim Grain's got a style and
and uh it's it's proven to work. So how much
money did they add to this their next offer that's
not reported? Okay, they just said they they just said
they update yeah, so who knows man three two one
two five seven nineties number to join sena, thank you
for holding good.
Speaker 6 (01:21:04):
Morning, Good morning.
Speaker 16 (01:21:07):
So I'm kind of wondering, and you know, we can't
know for sure, but how much of this is Bregmant
and how much of this is Boris? I feel like
Boris is just whispering in his ear. Hey, you can
get more, hold out, you know, don't sign yet.
Speaker 1 (01:21:19):
There's more out there to get.
Speaker 16 (01:21:21):
I can't understand why anybody stays with Scott Boris right now.
Speaker 6 (01:21:26):
You look at last year.
Speaker 16 (01:21:28):
You look at Snell, Montgomery, Bellinger, Matt Chapman, all one two,
three year deals, some of them signing really late.
Speaker 1 (01:21:39):
This year.
Speaker 16 (01:21:40):
Alonso, you know, on paper kind of looks good two
years and a player opt out after a year. So
the idea that he does really great this year and
then makes the money in the years, signing a new
contract next year. It's like, did they actually look at
the free agent class for first baseman next year? You
got Vlad, You've got Josh Naylor, Josh bell, Luisa, riaz
(01:22:06):
Yondi Diaz could be out there. He's got an option,
so does Salvador Perez. There's an option on his contract.
It's a ridiculous class. He's gonna have to be MVP
to get the money in the years that he's looking for.
I mean, so, Bregman, he just needs to sign the contract.
If he doesn't sign soon, he's not gonna get hot
till July or August. With his offense. He needs to
(01:22:27):
sign the contract, get his butt to spring training, and
then fire Boris.
Speaker 1 (01:22:34):
Thank you for the call, Helliver point. Yeah, hell of
a point. Unfortunately, he if he was gonna fire him,
probably would have done it right, I would assume afterwards,
just like Jordan Montgomery did. Yeah, but while they're going
through it now. But once again, remember it's the the
agent works for the player. The player does reserve the
(01:22:55):
right to say, you know what, where I'm at my
wits end, I've hit the ceiling enough. And she may
she makes a good point that if you're not in
it for the squeeze, the turn up, for everything it's got,
you shouldn't hire Boris, And she know the reason they
do hire Boris because most players want that extra dollar
and they just do. They want to be the highest paid.
(01:23:16):
They want this. But you're right at times put it
it feels like his his uh, suggestions aren't the right word.
His informing you on what's best almost at times feels
selfish for him as opposed to his client. But yet
(01:23:36):
maybe I think different. There's no agent in the world.
I'll take suggestions and his guidance. Well, I know when
I when it's time for me in my life. And
the truth is, if an agent, if you're letting the
agent decide when it's time, making a big mistake. Yeah,
just hand it over and sign over power of attorney too.
(01:23:58):
Why don't you do that? Is you're his boss, he's
not your boss. And I think too many players forget
that in this And I do think it's costing Bregmant
and may cost him a late if Bregman's if his
history is what it's what it usually is, Sena hit
it on the Alex Bregman will start to get hot
(01:24:19):
September fourth, if this continues, Yeah, and I hope he
goes out and has a great season and it's here.
But man alive. I mean, when all is said and done,
how is he going to look back and say, yeah,
that was worth it unless he gets one hundred and
ninety million or whatever. But somebody else I know unless
you're holding out counting on somebody to say, we got
(01:24:41):
to have the guy in spring training because one of
our guys is sluggish or he got hurt. I just
to me. I know a lot of people think the
longer it goes, the better off you are. To me,
the longer it goes, the less options you got. Those
doors are going to start closing. They are at a
sheer frustration too. Somebody's just gonna say, you know, what
is it You're what you're doing is you're giving people
chance to say, is it really worth a buck sixty,
(01:25:04):
a buck sixty five, a buck fifty six, a buck seventy,
whatever he wants? Right, You're gonna get to the point
where you're saying, if we're judicious, could we spend this
somewhere else? So I don't know, man, go have a
great season, and if you get your opt out from somebody.
If you don't sign here, go get an opt out,
Go be an MVP candidate, and then you can go
get your thirty million next year. Right, bet on yourself.
(01:25:27):
But most athletes don't have the the balls to do that.
They just don't because they want the guarantee because it
protected and I get it well, yeah, but there are
some that say, you know what, I remember when Andre Dawson, Dude,
I've say it before, Andre Dawson. They gave him a contract,
They told him to fill it in. He signed a
one contract for a half a million bucks one year.
(01:25:48):
I think it was a past six hundred half Man
won the MVP on the last place team, gamble on himself.
How'd that work out? Pretty well? Yeah? You think it's
doctor Ray? What's that Ray?
Speaker 9 (01:26:02):
Hello?
Speaker 8 (01:26:04):
I'm here. I was telling Tripley about when I was
a recruiter for the Navy. There was a kid that
I was trying to get in and he couldn't make
up his mind between the Marines and the Navy. Finally,
I got irritated enough where I was on the phone
with him and I said, you know what, you need
(01:26:24):
to quit being a fill in the blank and make
up your mind because what you're doing is not fair
to us or the Marines. MA guy became a bum.
I'm not saying that Bregman is going to become a bum,
but he's going to end up being the one losing
out on this scenario. He's going to end up on
a crappy team. And I mean, so that's where I'm at.
(01:26:49):
I And also I would like to know who's our
backup at third base, and I put him in. I
was like, you want to play these games, fine, we'll
put We'll start the backup and start getting him.
Speaker 5 (01:26:59):
Ready to take your Well, well you you went out
and you got Esoch freatus.
Speaker 1 (01:27:02):
That's your third basement right now. Well, there is no
back for me.
Speaker 5 (01:27:06):
Is the starter. So we'll see what happens. Appreciate the call,
Ray seven seven one three, bless you, biscuit.
Speaker 1 (01:27:18):
What's up.
Speaker 9 (01:27:21):
On something? My brothers all good, ready for the weekend.
Speaker 23 (01:27:25):
Hey, Sean, let me okay, before I get to my
Super Bowl prediction, Sean, let me let me go opposite
of your last few callers. Okay, first of all, break
me if the if the story is true, him holding
out this long as already and got it more money
from the astros.
Speaker 9 (01:27:43):
You know what I'm saying. So, I mean, not just
act like this man is being stupid. He is a
plan they got or whatever.
Speaker 23 (01:27:49):
We'll see if it weren't. But the one thing, Sean,
you can correct me if I'm wrong. One thing about
an athlete, and I don't know the numbers of all
the other third basemen that break minutes like comparing itself
to But if if I feel like I'm better than
that guy and that guy's making this amount, then I'm
on this amount. And you know, you can you know
(01:28:11):
what I'm saying, saying Player B, I feel like I'm
better than him. My number show I'm better than him.
I'd have done it over a long period of time.
Here player B getting thirty million, Well you got to
pay me thirty five and I'm just gonna stand on that.
Speaker 9 (01:28:25):
And I think that's one of the you know what
I'm saying, Sean.
Speaker 1 (01:28:27):
So most athletes, Most athletes will do what you're talking about.
The ego get the ego gets involved and your perception
of where you stand and meaning the player that there's
no way that guy's getting paid more than me. But
they may see it different. There's no doubt. And if
the a llegend, if it's true that he that they
raise their offer, then at least in the Astra situation,
(01:28:51):
he did pressure them into raising the offer. If if
it is true that they did raise the offer. But
you get to a point, for a guy's slow start,
you think you'd want to get in there, but you
know what, Once again, I don't get in people's wallet. Uh.
There will come a point of diminishing returns though, and
you and I both know.
Speaker 23 (01:29:05):
It, right And and the thing is Shine, at the
end of the day, he's the one that got.
Speaker 1 (01:29:11):
To live with That's exactly right, you know.
Speaker 23 (01:29:14):
And so but let me say this, Shining about the
Super Bowl, man, And I'm I told tripley, man, I'm
hitting out tomorrow. Shine headed to Miamiact. I just couldn't.
I just couldn't do New Orleans.
Speaker 1 (01:29:24):
I understand it.
Speaker 9 (01:29:25):
Yep, it is stupid. I've been about three Super Bowls
in New Orleans.
Speaker 2 (01:29:29):
Man.
Speaker 9 (01:29:29):
It's only so many times you can go to Bourbon.
Speaker 23 (01:29:31):
Street, and you know, and I love the Gumbowl and
all that, but you know, we hit it down to Miami.
Speaker 9 (01:29:36):
But I'm uh, my prediction is the Eagles in a
low scoring game.
Speaker 1 (01:29:41):
Okay, I think it's like the defenses maybe.
Speaker 9 (01:29:44):
Right, I think maybe twenty to seventeen.
Speaker 1 (01:29:49):
Does a load? Does a low scoring game in your
mind favor the Eagles. What if there's a high scoring game,
if it's in the thirties, who does it favor If
it's in the teams or the low twenties. Who's in favor.
Speaker 9 (01:30:00):
If it's in the high scoring I think it it
favors the Eagles.
Speaker 1 (01:30:03):
I do too.
Speaker 23 (01:30:04):
I don't think the Chiefs can put up a lot
of points, right, uh, you know, but low scoring Cole's
game really favors the Chiefs because that's that's what they've
been all.
Speaker 1 (01:30:13):
Year, twelve one twelve one score games and they haven't.
I don't know, have they hung forty on anybody but
once maybe. I don't know if they got over forty
this year at all. I don't think so. So they've
they've they've lived with low scoring. It seems like they
kind of like playing down to that this year. You
know what I'm saying, Like, let's let's key in their defense,
their defensive lights out. It would figure you it would
feel like a high scoring game that the Eagles are
(01:30:36):
more equipped for that with their offense. I would agree
with you one when it comes to that, no doubt.
Speaker 23 (01:30:40):
I'm I'm I'm giving, and I'm kind of biased because
I like the guy, like his character, and I just
like the way he carried to sell. But I'm giving
Jalen Hurts the MVP, and he's gonna pull them through
with something late in the game, and I got the
Eagles winning twenty and seventeen.
Speaker 1 (01:30:58):
Great stuff, man, enjoy your trip, be safe, enjoy your
buddies and family, and have a great time in Miami.
Jalen Hurts is as poised as we have Jalen Hurts
last Super Bowl game would he would have been the
MVP had they not had the fumble, had they not lost.
He played a marvelous game, and I would expect him
(01:31:19):
to be poised. I don't know how it's going to
turn out, but I wouldn't sleep on his ability to
handle big game pressure. He's been good at it.
Speaker 5 (01:31:27):
They scored thirty points in a win against the Buccaneers,
thirty points in a win against the Carolina Panthers. That's
the most they scored in the regular season. They scored
thirty two points in the win against the Bills in
the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (01:31:41):
That's it. They live in the twenties this year, but
which bodes well for them defensively. Yet they found ways
to win any game. When you win twelve it's not
by chance. When you win twelve games, I think by
one score, that's not You can't fake that.
Speaker 5 (01:31:57):
No, that's a trend. Man, and that's who they are
this year, that is the Kansas City Chief seven one three,
seven ninety. Well he will get back out to the
phone lines and well continue to roll along right here
on seven ninety.
Speaker 1 (01:32:09):
Let the celebration start.
Speaker 4 (01:32:11):
More Sean Salisbury, The Sean Salisbury Show, Kenneth, Good Morning.
Speaker 24 (01:32:19):
No, mar I really prod I was really kind of concerned,
as Bretman saying, I really would start sounding like the
uh astro management on this, uh kind of looking ahead.
But I wouldn't have really brung this back up unless
and we made this full circle back so about this
money concerning them, because uh, what I called was before
(01:32:43):
and I was talking about the aspect of it, uh
versus where he was going with the taxes and all
of that.
Speaker 25 (01:32:50):
Had a call to call in after after me.
Speaker 1 (01:32:53):
It went in on me like I.
Speaker 25 (01:32:54):
Was an idiot, you know, it's the point is that day.
But I made the call.
Speaker 24 (01:33:00):
It was to the sake, what is the logic behind
getting the contract and then you end up with lex
after state tax or income taxes.
Speaker 25 (01:33:10):
And so you know, so the story went with the
guy called talking about well you ain't worried about that
right now, he's concerned he's just winning the ring. Okay,
the dude is talking about Chicago. You're not gonna get
no ring in no Chicago anytime. But you know my
point is, and where I was going with it is
it was is it just the being the market, the
ability of a player where you just have to sit
(01:33:34):
here your bard, this is this is what I feel.
I'm working market, regardless of the ring or what to
take hold. Kay at the end of the day, you know,
That's where I went.
Speaker 1 (01:33:46):
With this, you know.
Speaker 25 (01:33:47):
Uh, and that's what I had to say on that
Other than that Sean get wrong or something this week,
you know, and uh, I don't know if it got
to you or not. Let somebody say, you know, somebody
and all of that. Man, just remember this.
Speaker 24 (01:34:03):
Man, people were talking about this racist stuff never experienced.
We got this generation of people talking about what's racist.
Speaker 25 (01:34:10):
Don't know it if it was a suppository, man, you.
Speaker 24 (01:34:13):
Know, I was going to sixty one.
Speaker 25 (01:34:14):
I knew it when I was here.
Speaker 1 (01:34:16):
Thank you appreciate. Kenneth. Hey, Kenneth, what was he saying?
He kind of cut out? What was he like? I
couldn't understand what did he? Kenneth called back? If you want,
I didn't die in to hear what he said about it.
He said he was born in sixty one, and I
just went.
Speaker 5 (01:34:30):
A little bit out when he started when he and
then blank, Yeah, uh call back, un tell triple he
so we know what you were talking about, because I
I'd love to respond to it, the bregnancy, but he
was talking about sixty one.
Speaker 1 (01:34:44):
He knows it when he sees it. But I don't know.
I mentioned racism. I heard that, Yeah, what what what
would I don't know what he was talking about, but
I'd love to have him. Take Kenneth, if you're listening,
is it Kenneth is Yeah. I just just called back
and uh, tell trip Ley so we can at least
comment on it, so we don't leave you hang out.
Start Daggie Doug, what's up? Aggy Doug? Hey, what's up?
Speaker 3 (01:35:07):
Fellas?
Speaker 26 (01:35:09):
So I did this kind of experiment the other day
with the basically back.
Speaker 9 (01:35:14):
Of baseball cards, right, because that's.
Speaker 26 (01:35:16):
What Joe Spatta and all these people want.
Speaker 1 (01:35:18):
To tell us.
Speaker 9 (01:35:18):
Look at the back of the baseball card.
Speaker 26 (01:35:20):
If you look at the back of Bregman's baseball card,
there's no way in hell you're gonna give him even
thirty million.
Speaker 2 (01:35:27):
For one year.
Speaker 26 (01:35:28):
At this point, I don't understand what I mean, what
what is the ans? Why did the Astros want him
back for six for one fifty six? This is going
to turn into a Carlos League Jose of braid you
all over again. Maybe not next year or the year
after that, but hey, well let's just get one or
two more rings and we'll be No, he's not going
to be the contributing factor that he never has been. Honestly,
(01:35:50):
I think maybe nineteen he had a great World Series,
but I think that's really the only year that he
has come out and been like the dude. Otherwise it's
been at Jordan or josel Tube or somebody else coming
through for us.
Speaker 7 (01:36:04):
Again.
Speaker 26 (01:36:04):
I love Pregnant's defense. I love Bregman as a player.
I love his hard and nosedness. I think he brings
the lots of the locker room. But you can't pay
thirty million dollars as somebody that's Batten two fifty and
maybe twenty home runs and maybe eighty RBIs for the
rest of his career.
Speaker 22 (01:36:21):
That's stupid.
Speaker 1 (01:36:24):
I don't think you're going to get a lot of argument. Offensively,
Sadly enough, he's become just a guy. Yeah, that's just
the truth. So Doug makes a good point. You know,
I think a lot of times because we're so his
because he's been here for so long and been part
of the good and some of the struggles, but as
(01:36:44):
a team, right and been the clubhouse presence and the
leadership and all that. But in truth, I mean, but
he and so I think that the criticizing him, it's uncomfortable.
We give him plenty of compliments, yeah, but as an
offensive production, nobody fears him anymore. No, they might, or
(01:37:05):
at least the says it right. Right the first two
months it's it's it's like it's that it's like they
don't count right, but they do right. So I mean,
and listen, he comes out and has a great year
this year for him, but he's just his offensive production
has been pedestrian for the most part.
Speaker 5 (01:37:25):
Yeah, forty four walks man down from like ninety two
to the year prior. It's a significant decline. Man, Doctor Barry,
good morning, Barry.
Speaker 1 (01:37:33):
Good morning.
Speaker 27 (01:37:34):
Super Bowl weekend, and I'm fascinated by the rules. Three
questions here is the ruler games having co MVPs.
Speaker 1 (01:37:41):
The answer We've had him in a super Bowl that
answers no, no, no.
Speaker 27 (01:37:46):
In the regular season.
Speaker 1 (01:37:47):
We've had it happened before too, Peyton Manning and Steve McNair.
I believe split an MVP award. It's fifty fifty votes,
so twenty five and twenty five it is a you
can have a co MVP.
Speaker 27 (01:38:02):
Yes, okay, the fans before and nine score up and down.
They were not familiar with the rules in overtime. They
didn't know how they were. Now we need clarity here.
Is it sudden death or both teams get a chance
to score?
Speaker 1 (01:38:14):
In the playoffs, it's sudden death after both teams get
one possession unless well even I think even the Super Bowl,
it doesn't matter if they score a touchdown, the other
team's going to get a chance to possess it. I
believe that's postseason rules. So then then let's say there's
no score, or let's say somebody scores and the other
(01:38:36):
team goes down to scores and ties it. Then you
play a sudden death. Now it's a super Bowl, so
it's not like in a regular season where at the
end of the game it ends in a tie. You
know after the fifth quarter you will play, you'll play
ten minute quarter to ten minute until somebody wins sudden
death in the super Bowl, you will play till somebody wins, all.
Speaker 27 (01:38:54):
Right, And the last question is then this is the
question I should have done the regular season some of
the offensive coordinators on the field, but summer in the booth.
There's a teasing advantage to either position, or it just
amount of choice.
Speaker 1 (01:39:05):
It's choice, and there may be a head coach at
times that says I'd like you down here because I
want you down here, But for the most part, it's
usually the coordinator's comfort level. Some guys like to be
down there and feel the energy. They like being on
the sidelines. They want to do it and be part
of it so they can communicate face to face with
players in their quarterback and then they'll have the quarterback
coach or align a wide receiver coach upstairs looking at it,
(01:39:29):
telling them in their earpiece, hey, here's what they played
the last series. All that, or they'll go upstairs because
they like the vantaged foight. They don't want to be bothered.
They want to be upstairs. Like Spagnolo, it will stay
on the sidelines. Vic Fangio will be in the booth.
Their defensive coordinator, So either side, it's just it's usually
the coordinator's choice. Some like to sit up there where
they're not bothered, they're in their room, they can stay
(01:39:51):
focused because they don't want the distraction of all the voices.
Others want to be down there. If I'm doing it,
I like somebody in the booth. I want to be
I want to be in the action because I want
to get a feel for how my I want the energy.
I want to get a feel for how my players
are feeling when it goes on. But you can overreact
on the emotion. So it's just it. It's a feel thing.
Some guys like being on the field, some don't. There's
no rule to it, though. You can do either.
Speaker 27 (01:40:13):
Okay, I heard it from a gypsy. Thirty eight thirty four,
Kansas City.
Speaker 1 (01:40:17):
There you go, high scoring for Kansas City. There you go.
Appreciate you, buddy, thank you, thank you. Yeah, it's uh
it it. This is the one. We're overtime, the postseason overtime.
We will play it till Monday if you have to,
so triple. What did Kenneth have to say?
Speaker 18 (01:40:35):
Oh yeah, he was just saying, like people my age,
you know, his age, younger generation.
Speaker 1 (01:40:40):
Oh your generation, Okay, they they.
Speaker 6 (01:40:42):
Don't understand it.
Speaker 1 (01:40:43):
Yeah, the deep, the deep, the deep part of racism. Okay,
that's kind of what I said. He was when he
said he was sixty want to mention racism. He said,
he knows what it looks like. My thought process was
that the younger the younger generation, not that it's not
I don't think he was meaning it as a umbrella,
even if he was umbrella or you know that everybody
feels that way, but the younger generation didn't have to
(01:41:05):
go through what quite frankly, the older generation did. They
just didn't. And that's not that's not opinion, that's freaking fact.
What his opinion. He says, he knows what it looks
like because if he was born, and you know, when
he was born, he saw, he saw it, and we
still have it. But you know, it really has. We
(01:41:25):
use the term too loosely. Oh somebody says something, Oh
that's racist. Oh yeah, that guy's racist. We just throw
it out there, and then when it's something is racist
it doesn't hit like it's supposed to. Then then we
like that, Okay, we got to fix this. We throw
it around like like like you're drinking a glass of water.
Not us, but society. Oh guy says something because somebody,
(01:41:46):
because a white guy succeeded and somebody another color said something,
or somebody, Well Lamar Jackson gets sacked and somebody criticized
him for holding the ball too long. Well that's rage.
We throw the term around way too much. We just
do over stuff that. No, it was an interception by
Josh Allen. It's not that you hate the white guy.
Or it was an interception or a fumble by Lamar Jackson.
(01:42:07):
We just pointed the facts out. It's not that you
hate him. It wasn't the skin color that caused the fumble. Okay,
And I think he Kenneth makes a great point. It's
just it's it's different. And what happens is the more
we mention it when it doesn't when it really isn't racist,
the less impact it has when it is racist, and
you need to make sure that that person or that
(01:42:28):
situation is fixed and he's right. And the generation they
saw more of it in my earlier than this generation does.
They just do. It's a more protected generation all the
way around. That's how that means it against triple E
or anybody else. It's a more protected and we throw
the term around like like like we wake up and
(01:42:49):
eat breakfast every day. It's stupid, we do we and
it doesn't impact somebody the way that it really needs to.
When racism does hit and it's and it's it's that
that's when throwing a rat's like, it's like crying wolf's like,
come on, Brian said something about a quarterback that it
was a racist or Steve or John or whoever. And
(01:43:10):
then when something really is racist, it loses the impact
that it needs to hit because right and just throwing
it around, we throw a lot of terms. It's like
the term great. Well, listen to broadcast this weekend. How
many times the word great will come up on just
a very basic play. Eventually, what is great? It's the
same thing here as racist? Racist? Well, what is racist?
(01:43:33):
I think we know what racist is, but we make
it so hyperbolic that everything from somebody, Hey, if if
you disagree with it opposite colored skin, you're racist. And
that's not the way. That's that's not society. Society doesn't
think like social media and like the media wants to
paint most people. Most of us don't really give a
rats ass. What color your skin is? Yea, And I'm
(01:43:54):
one with Kenneth, who cares? When's the last time you
watched the game? I was talking to a buddy last
night I'll leave his name out, you know him, and
we were talking about I said, when's the last time
you brought We were talking about how came up and
was a literate at this dinner. I said, when's the
last time you broadcasting? Or you're watching a game. Are
you playing a game and a guy makes a mistake
or throws an interception or makes a play, and the
(01:44:15):
first thing came in your mind was the color of
the guy's skin. I to me, it's just baffling. Guy
runs a post route, hits it well, and he's white man,
let's give him extra love. Or he's black, let's give
him extra love. No, the guy's just a great player.
This super Bowl game's filled with good white players and
good black players. And the person who has to find
(01:44:37):
racism in that, that's the person you got to look at, yep.
Not the person who's criticizing because a guy or complimenting
because the guy made a play. It's maddening to me.
Then we get we use the term way too loosely.
Go talk to your parents and their grandparents and find out.
Go talk to Dusty Baker and find out what that
really looked like with Hank Aaron, Reggie Jackson. I am
(01:45:00):
right and now in both ways you know there it
goes both ways. Yeah, but how society is now we
use the term too loosely, and we got to stop it.
I mean, when you're having fun, like we joke around,
when you say so we jo I've talked about when
it's the serious stuff, right, you just can't do it, man.
But unfortunately some don't miss that lesson in class. They
(01:45:21):
don't get it.
Speaker 5 (01:45:22):
Seven one, three, two, two five, seven ninety is the
number to join here on the Sean Salisbury Show.
Speaker 1 (01:45:27):
Still try to get some scratchers. Hi, Well, I got

Techexas Lottery dot com. When Texans played Texans win, so
play today it could be your lucky day. The blitz
is on at Texas Lottery dot com. The Sewn Salisbury
(01:46:10):
Show continued, is never to join. What's up man? A Hey, guys, Hey,
what's that?
Speaker 22 (01:46:26):
So the Astros offered a little more money for Breckman reportedly, yep,
oh that that's a little desperation. That's them saying, oh, hell,
we didn't get us another outfielder. Uh, that's just ridiculous.
And Sean, you're right. We talked about it earlier in
the year or late last year that his less walks
(01:46:49):
shows shows a big sign and his approach at the
bat at the plate now and I wouldn't offered him
a don more Hey anyway, Hey, you're you're right on Sean.
If you want to see race and this you're part
of the problem with the society. H Lamar Jackson last
year won MVP and his numbers weren't the best. But
(01:47:12):
by the way, name a receiver Josh Allen has that
is considered a real good receiver. Mm, yeah, that's right,
that's exactly right.
Speaker 1 (01:47:27):
What did you what did you say?
Speaker 5 (01:47:28):
He said, Name a wide receiver that Josh Allen has
that's a really good receiver. Marii Cooper, but he's on
the decline. It's a little bit older.
Speaker 1 (01:47:35):
I'll tell you Mark. Mark Andrews is a good player,
even though he dropped, He's been a consistent player. But
Lamar Jackson has not. He has not been j Josh Allen,
Josh Allen, I said, Lamar Jacksons, Josh Allen, he's got
the one kid, Yes, he's They don't. If you're asking
me if they have a top fifteen receiver in the
(01:47:57):
league on their team, that answers.
Speaker 22 (01:47:58):
No, I don't think they had. I think a lot
of teams those wide receivers wouldn't even be number one.
Speaker 9 (01:48:05):
Number two.
Speaker 1 (01:48:05):
Well, there are number two threes on most teams, right right.
That's fair?
Speaker 22 (01:48:09):
Yeah, shoot, yeah, I understand that. But I mean, you
look at Hurts Hill. Hurts has got Smith and A J.
Speaker 1 (01:48:18):
Brown, A J.
Speaker 9 (01:48:19):
Brown, Hey, J Brown, I mean.
Speaker 22 (01:48:21):
My goodness, till Shakier wouldn't even I mean, that's why
Josh Allen won the MVP.
Speaker 1 (01:48:28):
That right there, Well he did more with less, more
with less.
Speaker 9 (01:48:33):
A lot less.
Speaker 1 (01:48:34):
I mean.
Speaker 22 (01:48:34):
And and look, is Lamar Jackson either the MVP on
his own team or is it Henry good point nineteen
and twenty one yard sixteen TVs and Lamar blew up
this year as a quarterback.
Speaker 9 (01:48:47):
Why oh?
Speaker 1 (01:48:47):
I think it was a perfect marriage. Yeah, I think
that they both. I think Lamar's game of Lamar took
his game another level this year, and a lot of
that had to do with Derrick Henry. But Derrick Henry
after being that Derrick Henry would be in with nouquarterback
in Tennessee and people saying, well he's on the decline,
he gets a great player like Lamar Jackson and now
you've got to focus on Lamar's bandwidth with his legs
(01:49:08):
and arm, and Derek Henry becomes a beast. It was
a great for both of them. The other guy enhanced
that guy, the other guy's game, no doubt about it.
It was a hell of a marriage by those two.
Speaker 22 (01:49:21):
Yeah, but when you know what, it also shows that
Herts could have put up some better numbers because of
the receiving corps he has and what Barkney did for
that team.
Speaker 2 (01:49:33):
But Hurts.
Speaker 22 (01:49:34):
I love him because, you know what, he's just doing
what it takes to win. And that's what he's been
a winner since he's been in college, both both programs
Alabama and Oklahoma and and in Philadelphia. He just does
what it does he needs to do to win.
Speaker 1 (01:49:50):
Yep.
Speaker 22 (01:49:50):
But hell, at far An, I'm termed. Barkley's the MVP
of the year. Barker's my MVP.
Speaker 1 (01:49:57):
He he was hey year, it was off the charts,
man off this we've turned it. We've turned it into
a quarterback Award unfortunately.
Speaker 22 (01:50:08):
Exactly right, And that's that's and that's the shame.
Speaker 15 (01:50:11):
John.
Speaker 1 (01:50:11):
I agree, that's a big saying.
Speaker 22 (01:50:13):
Because Barkley needed to win it this year. Let's see
what one other thing? Oh, hey, what's the What's what
would be good for you guys to continue to talk about,
is what's the one stat that means the other team
wins the Super Bowl?
Speaker 1 (01:50:29):
Oh? Good point for me.
Speaker 22 (01:50:31):
For me, it's Mahons over fifty yards Russian and uh
Chakan Barkley over one hundred and twenty five yards rushing.
Speaker 1 (01:50:42):
Love Chican Barkley, Andy, we appreciate it. Man Chakan, Yeah, whatever, alright,
there's no there's no better. You know what. My favorite
singing group is Rufus and Cho Shaka Chakan.
Speaker 5 (01:50:56):
Shaka Chakan. May love her. Eddie's at glassic.
Speaker 1 (01:51:03):
There's part of me that thinks he's sarcastic on dizzit
on purpose. And then there's part of me says, I
I'm not sure about the first night.
Speaker 5 (01:51:09):
I just know it's bark but no, but two minutes
ago he was like, saquad Barkley is the m v P.
Speaker 1 (01:51:14):
And then he's like, yeah, over sixty six. I love
I love I love it, I love it. I'm not
sure I take Sir Kuan bark Barkley deserves, you know,
offensive Player of the Year and could be could be
the m v P.
Speaker 5 (01:51:28):
But Kwan Chican bark average player. Yeah he's all right, Yeah,
he's just average. And I'll give you a stat I
already know. M Well, there's two turnovers are going to
be a big part of it. But that's obvious. The
hidden stat.
Speaker 1 (01:51:40):
Yeah, go ahead, Yeah, score more points than the other.
Speaker 5 (01:51:45):
Forget the turnovers, the extra points, kicking game fumble Ruskies.
Speaker 1 (01:51:51):
How many?
Speaker 5 (01:51:51):
How many times? How many times are gonna show Taylor Swift?
None of that matters. What's what's the score? More points
than the other team and you will win one hundred
percent of the time.
Speaker 2 (01:52:03):
Fumble.
Speaker 1 (01:52:07):
Yeah, I'm not gonna do that. I love that. I'm
not going to say Chakan Barkley, Chakan is one of
the great players and rufous who's your favorite singer? I
think Shaka. I think Shaka Khan. Barkley is a better
player than Chakwan and rufus H. Yeah, it's good Shaka Chakwan.
(01:52:29):
Love love Secon Barkley. Here's two. I'm going to give
you average yards per play on first down rushing attempts. Yeah,
Russians is a big one for you. Rushing attempt rushing attempts.
Speaker 5 (01:52:42):
Let's uh, let's talk a little more about the hidden
gems of the Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (01:52:46):
I'll give you one more sneaky one keeping not letting
Barkley hit a home run if he hits singles meaning.
Speaker 5 (01:52:53):
Average average here, two yards here, not a two yards
here average, He's average over five yards of carry. Kansas
City ain't three peating. I hope it happens. I hope
Shaikhan Barkley runs for three thousand yards.
Speaker 1 (01:53:07):
I know, but you know what, I'll tell you what
if he had a tackle like Laryn Tunsen, it would
be awesome. It would be awesome. Yeah, it'd be great.
Speaker 5 (01:53:15):
They have been TJ Strauss man, both of us. Bobby
Slovac's offense.
Speaker 1 (01:53:21):
That TJ.
Speaker 5 (01:53:21):
Strauss guy, he's good and unbelievable. Yeah, he's related to
Levi Strauss. Oh jeans not to be confused with Garrett
A little dip of the jew Shaweah. Let's keep talking
Super Bowl decks.

to tell the world I turned down a picture with
three kids in a wheelchair for Make a Wish?
Speaker 7 (01:56:35):
Right?
Speaker 1 (01:56:35):
Is that what he said? And then I also am
going to play the h card that he likes him.
Explain to me what what exactly? That's not opinion, that's stupidity.
Explain to me what what what when you woke up,
when he wakes up in the morning, that he would
would make him think that this is wise? Would you
(01:56:58):
hire him for anything? No? No, anything, I mean not.
Speaker 3 (01:57:01):
Never.
Speaker 1 (01:57:01):
I wouldn't want to money doesn't need it. Never. I
mean who does this?
Speaker 16 (01:57:07):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (01:57:07):
He also tweeted, I hate rappers.
Speaker 5 (01:57:11):
I hate the way rappers dress grown ass men in
dumb ass fur hats and blank f is wrong with you?
Speaker 1 (01:57:19):
Oh hey, guys whose name's ee. No, I'm just kidding.
I just don't get his I don't get his I
don't get his I don't get his plight.
Speaker 5 (01:57:28):
Okay, I'm a user. I only have people around me
that are useful. If you can't be used and you're useless.
Speaker 1 (01:57:35):
Tweeted that as well, Hey what what a what a guy?
Speaker 2 (01:57:37):
Man?
Speaker 1 (01:57:41):
Oh? You know what? You also got to check the wife.
She's a you know why when you wake up? Listen?
The bottom line, Kanye West is a French fish short
of a happy meal. He's lost it. Yes, And the
crazy thing about it is is that somebody married him. Yeah,
multiple women have married him. So what tells me is
(01:58:01):
that when you look at him, you got to turn
and look at her and shake your head like you
know all this and you're popping into sheets with him
and hanging around the house. What about what? Or which
tells me? She's just as wackle? Maybe that's not fair?
Who says the things he says? I fairly talented guy
(01:58:27):
too right, made a lot of money. Yeah, but who
I mean? I just who wakes up in the morning thinking,
you know, I think this is a cool tweet. I
think I'm gonna put this out and guess what. The
h tweet is never a good thing.
Speaker 5 (01:58:42):
No, it's just dumb.
Speaker 1 (01:58:45):
I mean, he's you know what, he's getting to the
point where he's become an eye rolling Uh, he's a
he's a mean, he's an eye rolling clown show. Right, yeah,
not just right now. It's been that way for a
while and it's sad it Actually there's a bit of
sadness too, because you're like, come on, man, what what
would what would? What would? I mean? You know that'll
(01:59:07):
take ten seconds before you say something. Take a deep
breath when you're angry. Yeah, that dude needs to take
a to get on an oxygen tank for his deep breast.
He's an idiot, that's he sure is. He's just an
is common sense IQ? If there is that, the common
sense IQ is baffling to me. The part of his
common sensury? What are you thinking about? Yeah, there's no
(01:59:29):
way he thinks that what he's saying is okay, No,
there's there's no I mean, it's his Twitter, you say
whatever you want. Yeah, but there's no way he thinks
that this is smart, because if he does, he's the
dumbest guy on the planet. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:59:41):
Well, the stuff he tweets out, it makes him the
dumbest guy on the planet.
Speaker 1 (01:59:43):
Amen, and there's no doubt about that.
Speaker 5 (01:59:46):
Hey, coming up at nine to thirty, no mistake, Mark

Super Bowl this Sunday, five point thirty kickoff. Josh Allen
winning the MVP in the NFL, Eagles have a big
hurdle to overcome before the game on Sunday. Several Eagles
(02:01:24):
are dealing with an illness.
Speaker 1 (02:01:29):
It's called Mahomesis. Yeah, you see there, wait for the
punch line. That's all I got.
Speaker 5 (02:01:37):
Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson told the Philadelphia Inquirer that quote,
four or five players are currently battling an illness that
has been going around since the team departed for New Orleans.
Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio has also told NBC Sports
Philadelphia that an illness is indeed going through the team.
(02:01:58):
Defensive tackle Jalen Carter. Carter is the only Eagles player
that has been labeled as having an illness on the
team's injury report, but he was a full participant on Thursday.
Speaker 1 (02:02:11):
Wonder uh, you know that's You've still got time to
hydrate and hopefully get yourself legs underneath you. That'll matter, right,
You got to get those legs underneath you. How severe
I don't know how severe the viral or whatever it is,
virus or sickness is or if it's cold, or if
it's flu or if it's you know, mahomes itis. I'm
(02:02:34):
not sure what it is.
Speaker 5 (02:02:36):
While this illness is going through the team, the Eagles
have indicated that no player is in jeopardy of missing
the Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (02:02:41):
Well, then it's then it's just just probably zapping a
little bit of energy and stuff. But they'll be fine.
You probably think that they might be on a drip. Okay,
they'll drip.
Speaker 5 (02:02:52):
If you need ivy drips, Men's de Clinic, Men's ste
clinic dot com they do have them.
Speaker 1 (02:02:55):
Gets my iv drips. Get yourself right, stay hydrated. Uh.
The whatever is going through its not gonna be the
difference in who wins and lose this game.
Speaker 5 (02:03:04):
Just get you a little antivar and lets go. You
want to do you want to d ball it up?
Speaker 1 (02:03:08):
Yeah, a little winnie. You're gonna go winny. That'll that'll
fix it. We're gonna you're gonna strall it up? Why not?
Why not? Just why don't you stack trifecta? Why what's that?
Speaker 16 (02:03:20):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (02:03:21):
What's that stuff that?
Speaker 16 (02:03:22):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (02:03:22):
Maguire Andro steamed on, Yeah, we.
Speaker 5 (02:03:25):
Can do that too, But what's the stuff that a
lot of football players get injected with with injuries.
Speaker 1 (02:03:31):
What's the popular No, I think that's after the game.
You're not talking about the stuff, that old school stuff
that they you rub on, the thing that smell comes
out of you, the breath that makes your whole body stink.
What is that? That's how we talked about. Yeah, that
is called oh my gosh, you're not talking Napperson's. That
(02:03:54):
is the anti inflammatory. That is called You rub it
on your skin and your breath enough to light four
buildings on fire. It stinks so bad.
Speaker 5 (02:04:05):
We've talked about it, and somebody on Twitter sent us
it's called like the actual picture of it, it.
Speaker 1 (02:04:10):
Is called it's gonna bug me. It is gonna bug
me because I never used it, but I had teammates
that did. And it is quick. I mean it's a
quick heel, but it is nasty. You know, it gets
into your like bloodstream when you rub it into your skin,
and it's it's awful. H D s op uh not
(02:04:36):
D s op. That's what it's like. It's that's it's
it's like three or four initials. I'm just telling you,
Oh gosh, it's gonna bug me. Why'd you bring that up?
Why why'd you do it? Dude?
Speaker 5 (02:04:50):
We literally had this conversation a year and a half
ago and someone sent us the actual picture of of
the the lotion or whatever you want to isn't it
ds it's d s O d S m O d
M s O, d M s oh.
Speaker 1 (02:05:06):
Put that in and my memory, my memory serves me
d M s oh. Yeah. Here it is d M
s O. Yep, the gel d it is funky. So
you can't fake di methyl sulfox side. Now, you can't
fake the funk on a nasty dunk with that. If
you're gonna take that as a player, you ain't.
Speaker 20 (02:05:25):
You ain't.
Speaker 1 (02:05:25):
You ain't getting any love at the crib. That's it
is so frigging nasty. Yeah, yeah, yeah, there, it is
so frigging nasty. Here it is, dude. That's right.
Speaker 5 (02:05:36):
Ninety nine point nine percent pure d M s O.
Get you some die methyl sulfoxide and get out there, dude.
Speaker 1 (02:05:43):
It's a miracle healer for players. They'll get back on
that field. But I'll tell you what you got dragon breath?
Would you when you have that? It's nasty?
Speaker 5 (02:05:50):
Yeah, Because I remember I'd rather be hurt than whoever
whoever that smell. Whoever sent it to us. I remember
vividly the container had the tree on it, and then
when you look it up, there's the damn tree. There
you go, that's not the tour doll.
Speaker 1 (02:06:06):
Is a tour doll?
Speaker 5 (02:06:07):
Toll is a painkiller? Yeah, that's what I'm talking about.
Tour doll is what I was trying to think.
Speaker 18 (02:06:11):
Hey, guys, Bonnie Joe called in too. She said, is
it Ben Yet?
Speaker 1 (02:06:15):
Ben Gay? Oh?
Speaker 6 (02:06:16):
Ben Gay? Sorry?
Speaker 1 (02:06:17):
Benyet is a little pastry you can get. I was
walking down New Way in New Orleans just day, walking around,
and they walked right by a Benet shop. Yeah, Bennetzer.
They were serving Ben Gay at Ben Yer Bennet's at
Bennet's a pastry. But you've never had a begnet have
you ever met? Have you ever met that? You ever
(02:06:39):
met my friend Bennet?
Speaker 14 (02:06:40):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (02:06:41):
Yeah, I love Bennet's. And a little, a little a
cup of coffee for you. Yeah. Uh, wait a minute,
I gotta don't bury the lead here. Did my guy
triple eh not know what Ben Gay is? Triple? Do
you know what Ben Gay is?
Speaker 7 (02:06:58):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (02:06:58):
My gosh, she said that he stinks.
Speaker 1 (02:07:02):
Yeah, yes, well it's got more of like a spicy smell.
I guess well, no, Ben Gay is, well, you know
icy hot that that shack does to put on a muscle,
that's what Ben Gay. And it's it smells the same
way that guys will put it on, and it's like,
dang it, like it'll just send your eyebrows because it's
so powerful.
Speaker 9 (02:07:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:07:20):
Yeah, looks come almost in the same bottle.
Speaker 1 (02:07:23):
Bottle. Yeah, it's there, they're they're different. So you got
the roll on, you can rub it on, don't put
it in your don't don't put it on your hands,
and then stick to your eye. You get some tiger bomb. Yeah,
tiger momb And it's not the smells. The smells a
little bit better too, uh.
Speaker 5 (02:07:37):
Or cafe that's the cafe gets placed on the hot
planet in the world, maybe other than what France probably, Yeah,
he didn't know Ben Gay was. You know, you can
lead you can lead him to the water, but you
can't make him drink. You did what I'm saying, dog,
no cap on a stack for real?
Speaker 1 (02:07:57):
For real? What are you standing on any business? Yeah?
We stand on business every day. So yeah, Ben Gay,
body Joe's is a painkiller. Yeah, that's what I was asking, well,
if you're gonna do that, why don't you just throw
yourself in there some perk and grab yourself some perk
that way? Yeah, perk it up.
Speaker 5 (02:08:14):
What are the other things that allegedly these football players
back in the day used to use toward all little
perk sets?
Speaker 1 (02:08:20):
What else? Blow straight up? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:08:24):
Blow blow?
Speaker 1 (02:08:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (02:08:24):
Okay, it's funny. Like I told you, I've never done it,
Jalen Carter, just get you. I've never done a couple
of percocets and maybe some toward all and knock down
the line, you know, simple.
Speaker 1 (02:08:35):
I'm sure that you could do. There's some a mix
you could probably put in. I'm sure somebody. I'm sure.
I don't know how you'd play stoned as a football player. Well,
if I feel like you'd, I know the guys do. Yeah,
but I I think you'd be a little bit of
a step on your mind, might relax and take all
the stress a lot. Uh, but damn you might not
(02:08:57):
get to the hole and fill it with barkley get
through there. I just means why because I'm stoned out
of my gorge right, Yeah, man, I just saw this
guy go by me. I you know what, caffeine was
about the only thing I ever took before a game.
I didn't want to as a quarterback too. You know,
you're the thinking process that goes on. Yeah, I just
being impaired. But for some and you know, obviously the
(02:09:18):
old school guys doing blow before a game and you
know or whatever they call the uppers back in the day. Right,
so you know what, how about just doing right? Sweat
it out in the steam room, get you, get your
legs under you, stay hydrate and go play. Get a
Z pack okay, you z pack it up and let's
go play some football. Triple. He really didn't know what
(02:09:39):
ben gay is. Yeah, Benji gay Man, Ben Gay, Icy hot,
tiger bomb and true triply. Whatever you do, don't get
it anywhere near your Nzetski's either ever. Terrible, don't do
that terrible. Yeah, if you got a groin issue, don't
(02:10:02):
don't you know, if you put it on a groin,
make sure it doesn't just you know, just kind of
brush up against this, give it away from everything. Then
you'll start scratching and all of a sudden it burns. See,
you might as well take a blow torch to your cutter, Okay,
gracious it's nasty. We've all been there. Yeah, we've all
been there. It just got a little you got a
(02:10:22):
little too uh, a little too bold with your tiger
bomb and it it it put a balling effect all
over the every guy that's listening going, oh, man, dude,
I've been there. And then you're so frustrated by you
go up and reach around your face and it's got
it hits your eye and you're like, what, Yeah, who
hadn't been there? You become a real idiot when something
(02:10:43):
gets around you're in the Zetzky's. I can tell you that.
My my all time favorite too is Oh he's having
minor groin surgery. Any knife to the groin area is
not mine. There's nothing mine about those groin. Hey, minor
groin surgery. It'll be a six to six month injury.
Minor groin You took a knife to my groin? Now
not good. So you all want both teams at full strength,
(02:11:05):
though you know somebody will have, you know, wake up
with a headache, or somebody may have a little, you know,
a little the after effects of it. But adrenaline. I'll
tell you what the best medicine in the Super Bowl
is the adrenaline, yep. And by the time then when
the game's over, you're like, well zapped out right, I
mean you're mentally they'll want to sleep for a week.
So yeah, man, the adrenaline carries you through adrenalines a
(02:11:29):
crazy thing. When it's a big game like this, I
want to see them all at full strength getting after it.
This is with all the talk of referees and everything,
We've got a hell of a matchup here, a hell
of a matchup. And these truly two these two teams
have been the best teams all year long. Yeah. Now,
I know we could say Buffalo and Baltimore and Detroit
have hung around, but in truth, they didn't get here
(02:11:50):
by chance, right, and then they took care of their
business against good teams in the postseason and their last
game Philadelphia. They must be riding on some confidence because
they completely dismantled the Washington Commanders and nobody beat them
like that this whole year. Yeah, they they they kicked
their ass. They sure did.
Speaker 5 (02:12:06):
Let's keep talking about the matchup that is the super
Bowl on Sunday, That's day.
Speaker 1 (02:12:09):

Speaker 2 (02:12:52):
The Jean Salisbury Show continues.
Speaker 5 (02:12:56):
We'll have him on next segment at six thirty seven
seven ninety the number to join Renfrog.
Speaker 28 (02:13:01):
Good morning, Good morning, Hey Sean. I got a good
question to ask you then, and we're talking about quarterbacks
this morning. Also, what is your opinion of U of
Daniels with the Washington mandness. Because I've followed him when
he was at l s U. I thought he was
gonna be decent. I never didn't think he was going
(02:13:22):
to be this great uh just good, let me see
it that way.
Speaker 17 (02:13:25):
But he had even through the playoffs, he had an
exceptional season and as a matter of fact, he wasn't
the reason why they lost to Philadelphia because he played
this He played a great game in that game. Also,
it's just that the team let him, you know, let
him down with the fumbles and everything else. So, but
what is your opinion of what do you think about
(02:13:46):
him and his success that you think that he that
he might have you know, in his career.
Speaker 1 (02:13:51):
I think he's special. Renfrou I do he had a
better than this is going to be. He had a
better year than than think how good? How everybody talk
about CJT, Jane Daniels, rookiear is better. He is a
guy that's got and his advantage over a lot of guys.
His ability to extend the play is off the charts,
one of the five best in the league. He's in
(02:14:13):
the Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen that category. His only thing
is I think he's got one weakness. He's still a rookie.
That's not his fault. The other one is he just
needs to quit taking hits when he extends the play
if he wants. He learns how to be smart with
his getting down, getting out of bounds. He doesn't need
to prove anybody's toughness. He's got plenty of that. I
(02:14:34):
think the guy's off the charts. And the one thing
that stuck out to me, I go on a show
in Louisiana every week with Matt Mascona every week since
he left Arizona State. When he went it when he
was the first at Arizona State and was a dynamic
freshman and precise. When he transferred, he got He's gotten
better every year of his career. There are some guys
who get better one year take a step back, but
(02:14:56):
every single year he's gotten better at something and gotten
better as player. His second to last year at LSU,
when Brian Kelly's first year there, he did not throw
the ball down the field, whether it was he didn't
want to pull the trigger, didn't feel confident it, went
to work on his game and became one of the
best deep ball throwers in college football. Goes in a rookiear.
He's accuracy, you can't. Accuracy doesn't go away. You're either
(02:15:19):
accurate or you're not. He's got that. People love him,
great leader, great competitor. I think he's a star for
a long time. And the Washington Commanders got themselves a guy.
He's a dude, no doubt, a guy, mattres Smack. I
spent a lot of time with him yesterday and going
to do it again today. And he joins us, Now, Mac,
how you doing, buddy? What's going on? And this super
(02:15:39):
Bowl's got the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes in it. I
know you've had a run in and we're with a
run in meaning in a good way. But he's had
an impact on you when it comes to your picking games,
hasn't he? Yeah?
Speaker 16 (02:15:53):
He has.
Speaker 13 (02:15:54):
He smatted me several times. And so I was at
the Kentucky Derby a couple of years go and I
ran into him. I said, man, you betting against you
has cost me a whole lot of money over the
last several years. He said, well, bet with us.
Speaker 9 (02:16:08):
So that's what I'm gonna do.
Speaker 13 (02:16:10):
I'm gonna bet with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Speaker 1 (02:16:12):
Are you now? Mack? Would was it simply? And you
and I got a lot of laughs and good times
yesterday and last night. We'll do it again. We're ready
to go for round two. As we get heading back
out to New Orleans? Are you is it simply because
your belief in Mahomes and Andy Reid? You just think
they're better, and Mahomes telling you, you know what, don't
pick against me because you've seen too much success from them.
Speaker 2 (02:16:35):
Yeah, you know.
Speaker 13 (02:16:36):
I mean Philadelphia has a great team and a lot
of people say they have better personnel. But how do
you beat Mahomes in Andy Reid's experience, the defensive guys experience,
and the whole team experience being the Super Bowl the
last you know?
Speaker 9 (02:16:51):
This is three years in a row.
Speaker 13 (02:16:52):
So, uh, it's tough to go against those chiefs and
I've been I got my hand burned four or five
times doing that.
Speaker 16 (02:16:58):
I'm not gonna do.
Speaker 1 (02:17:01):
So the bet will be on h on Kansas City
money line vet, Right, Mac, You're just gonna take him
straight up to win.
Speaker 7 (02:17:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 13 (02:17:08):
Money line points are too confusing, and I don't want
to be a point and a half favorite. Win by
one point you lose a bet.
Speaker 1 (02:17:16):
Right, Take him to win and get there and get paid.
Are you ready for round two? How about that food
we had last night, Mac week, they can't breaking I
look over it back last day we're end of the table.
I look over in they brought out another layer of food,
(02:17:36):
like a seventeen It looked like a seventeen foot buffet,
but family style. Mac look's overbeat and he starts laughing.
He buries his head in his hands, like, are you
kidding me?
Speaker 13 (02:17:46):
I thought I thought we were through, and then that
was apparently what we what we thought was the whole
meal was just the appetite.
Speaker 1 (02:17:54):
Brother, You well guess what if you thought you were
going to eat for three weeks after last night, were
gonna have to double down, speaking of Betty, because they're
not getting any softer with the food they're going to
deliver to the rest of the place we're going tonight.
You and I both know that.
Speaker 13 (02:18:08):
So no, and I thought it was, uh, it was cool.
Who were you caught to Kirk kurb Street? Yeah, yeah, yeah,
and uh and I saw you talking to the man.
Speaker 9 (02:18:18):
That was very cool.
Speaker 1 (02:18:18):
Yeah, good night, great group, a great crowd, a lot
of a lot of good loud music, but a lot
of great people in the building. And uh, that's a
pretty uh pretty uh exceptional thing they put on last day.
And Mac, I don't even know if I told you this.
You were staying, I don't know if you were talking
to one of our other guys. Do you know that
that those tables last night, they're so like in demand
(02:18:39):
at the Super Bowl, Jeff Bezos couldn't get a table
because it was sold out. They told me that last night.
Did they Were you with me when they told me that? Yeah? Yeah,
there you go. So a pretty a pretty good gig
when when a guy who's worth a buck or two
couldn't get a table, And that's commitment to the people
who've already paid for it. So we're gonna go get
after it again today, my man. And uh, the bets
(02:19:00):
got to go in soon. And you got the Chiefs.
What kind of score are you thinking, Mac? If you
were picking points? Is it too close? Or I know
you're going straight with the money line, but do you
think this is a one score like a touchdown field
goal game? Do you think it's close?
Speaker 2 (02:19:15):
Yeah?
Speaker 13 (02:19:15):
I think that's what the you know, obviously, what the
league wants and what the viewers wants is a close,
competitive game, So I think that's what it'll be.
Speaker 7 (02:19:22):
Phil.
Speaker 13 (02:19:23):
That is a great team, so are the Chiefs, and
I just I find it very difficult to bet against
Andy Reid, who's an incredible football coach, a defensive coach,
and Mahomes.
Speaker 9 (02:19:35):
So we'll see.
Speaker 1 (02:19:36):
Yeah, when you got the best defensive coordinator, the best
play caller and head coach, and the best quarterback these
last seven eight years in the league, that's probably the
smart way to lean. I am with you one hundred percent.
That's where my money's going as well. So I will
see you in a little while, right, my man. I
look forward to it. I can't wait. Thanks Mac, appreciate you, brother.
(02:19:56):
Thank You're heading over there and pop on a plane
and set out there. We had good, good times. He is.
Listen and Mick will never say this. We're walking down.
Of all the people we were with yesterday, you know
who got recognized the most? You know got recognized the most.
Half a dozen pee one yelled, Hey, I used to
live in here. Mattress back another guy who's who, who
(02:20:19):
watched him bet one time at the Kentucky Dirt. But dude,
it's it's it's uncanny. I'm sitting there laughing. I told
the people were I said, watch all these stars here.
I said, he's gonna walk down and it won't matter.
He's going to be the people, they're they're in the crossairs.
Everybody wants to go up and talk to Mac and
and people just are intrigued with him. And plus he's
an ultimate gentleman, you know. Yeah, and all his all
(02:20:41):
his philanthropy and all the the helping of other people
he does. We had a lot of laughs and a blast,
and uh, I'm looking forward to doing it again. I
just don't know if I can get through in twenty
seven course meal. Yeah great, how about that mahomes And
you said Mahome told quit betting against me. I wouldn't
probably a wise move, Yeah, you and me both.
Speaker 5 (02:21:00):
Three times Super Bowl champion Mark Schlareth joins the show next.
On Sports Talk seven eighty, The Sewn Salisbury Show continued.
Now we're gonna welcome in three times Super Bowl champion,
co host of breakfast Ball on FS one Mark Slareth.
Speaker 1 (02:21:18):
Yeah, and also does his uh at the Fan in Denver,
does his morning award winning radio show in Denver. Fits
it all in. Longtime partner of mine at ESPN on television.
One of my favorite people and best friends on the planet,
Mark Slareth does join us.
Speaker 8 (02:21:32):
Mark.
Speaker 1 (02:21:32):
Grateful to have you man as always and one of
my favorite things is on your one of my favorite follows.
As you know, I always love the rings on your
finger with some guys when you put them on. All
those eighteen crooked figures you got that are right right
angle here, this one's too big, this one's too and
when they say something, you just put that in there
(02:21:54):
and you got this and the figures are rolled up.
Every time I see it, I can't help but cry
about it because I got one. So I'm living vicariously
through you. Brother.
Speaker 9 (02:22:04):
Well, I appreciate that.
Speaker 7 (02:22:05):
Always good to hear your voice, my friend.
Speaker 1 (02:22:07):
I love you.
Speaker 7 (02:22:08):
Always good to connect and yeah, you know what I
always say. Twitter is like to me, that whole social
media thing is like an extension of locker room, and
don't walk in there. It's a you know, being in
a locker room. It's killer be killed. You better have
your a game at all times. And I'm like, if
you're gonna come at me, man, come get a taste,
because I'll just give it right back to you. And
so I enjoy it.
Speaker 9 (02:22:29):
Boy.
Speaker 7 (02:22:29):
I don't know, man, I've like recently, I don't know
that I've found a softer fan base in the Kansas
City Chiefs.
Speaker 1 (02:22:35):
I mean, you are you are killing them?
Speaker 7 (02:22:42):
Come on, you guys have won three Super Bowls, You've
been to four in the last five years. Man, I
mean you gotta wear that, right, You gotta just stink
your chest out. And yet they all get a butt
heard about the officiate and everything else. So you know me,
I'm just gonna pile off. I like to say, Sean,
I'm a really gracious loser, but I'm an ass when
(02:23:03):
it comes to and.
Speaker 1 (02:23:05):
I'm there for every single part of it and every
single tweet and response. And you're right. If you're gonna
get the locker room twitter, same way, if you're gonna
bring it, then faint of heart don't need to apply
when it comes to locker room because guys have no there.
They will not bear your feelings one bit. They don't
cut you a break at all. All right, Mark, let's
get to this game for a day. You get such
deep and great in analysis, and you've been in them,
(02:23:27):
You've walked down the tunnel, You've prepared for him. When
did you know, whether it's your first one or your
last one, that your team was ready? What told you
they were ready?
Speaker 7 (02:23:38):
You know, just the way we went about our business
and we had a blast. Like we're down there super
Bowl site, joinking around doing all kinds of fun stuff.
But the way we practice in all three of them, dude, Like,
I mean, we get into a practice on a Thursday
or Friday, and it'd be twenty thirty minutes shorter than normal.
The ball didn't hit the ground it you know. As
(02:24:00):
a matter of fact, we're doing my first Super Bowl,
super Bowl twenty six with the Washington Redskins against the
Buffalo Bills. We're practicing on Thursday, and we are literally
murdering each other. I mean it is full still you
know how it used to be back in the day. Yeah,
just killing one another nine on seven and everything else.
And we are beating a living snot out of one another.
(02:24:21):
And John Madden and Pat Summer all at practice. So
you know it's a big game when those two guys
are at your practice, right, And Joe Gibbs has to
blow the whistle and stop practice because we're like, we're
gonna murder each other. And Joe John Madden turns to
Joe Gibbs and and Pat summerll and he goes, you
guys are gonna absolutely murder the Buffalo Bills, right, And
(02:24:45):
you just know, Yeah, he goes, you guys are gonna
murder them. And it was one of those situations where
we practiced so well during the week, we were so
finally honed in, and then you have coaching staff. You know,
we got into thirty two with Mike Shanahan and nobody
ran against the Green Bay Packers and we were thirteen
point hundred dogs to start the week and you know,
(02:25:07):
more eleven and a half points to kickoff. And I
remember putting that game plan in and Shanahan saying, we're
gonna gut these guys in the run game. And so
he goes, look at this, and he had the formation.
It was strong right slot. Okay, so tight end on
the right side, full back up, you know, tailback, dotted
behind the quarterback under center. So strong right slot, you're
(02:25:29):
X and your Z on the back side of that
right yep. And anytime you got into that formation, the
Green Bay Packers weak side linebacker his name was Brian Williams,
he would start creeping out outside, you know, getting outside
the tackle box, right.
Speaker 1 (02:25:43):
Yeah, they were walking walking near the slot.
Speaker 7 (02:25:47):
Yeah, walking out towards the spot. So what they were doing,
and they were exchanging the responsibility between that week side linebacker,
and then Larroy Butler would run down, screen down, and
he'd make every tackle on the backfield, like every and
Shanahan puts on like five different teams, six different teams,
probably twenty plays. We watch LaRoy Butler make every tackle
(02:26:10):
and he says, this is what we're gonna gut him.
We're not chasing that weak side linebacker. We're turning over
our slot receiver. Ready, McCaffrey, you got him right, you
go dig out, Brian Williams, think, zim. What we're gonna
do is we're gonna scoop that backside and you're gonna
exchange that weak side linebacker for the safety. And I'm
telling you, Sean, as sure as I'm talking to you
(02:26:30):
right now. We're getting the second third play of the game,
whatever it is, and we get in the strong right
slot and then we go eighteen handoff and we're in
the John's and his cadence and I see, I see
Brian Williams start to creep out, creep out, creep out.
I just go, zim zim zim, zim zim, and he's like, yeah,
I got you. And so we scooped that backside. Here
comes Leroy Butler thinking he's just got a free access
(02:26:53):
run at Terrell Davis, and I mean, I just hit
him in the jawball. That's peak kettle. TV cuts back
fifteen yards and I come back walking back to the
huddles him and I and I go, we're gonna gut
these mother you know.
Speaker 1 (02:27:08):
Yeah, oh yeah them, Oh yeah.
Speaker 7 (02:27:10):
Terrell Davis missed a quarter plus and we still he
still had one hundred and fifty two yards rushing. He
missed with a migrant, still had one hundred and fifty
two yards rushing, and and came away with Super Bowl NBP.
Speaker 1 (02:27:23):
Yeah. Physical beatdown by you guys. I remember it well,
all right, Mark our pregame speeches in the game, this magnitude.
Should you need a pregame speech by the coach? Are
they overrated?
Speaker 2 (02:27:34):
Over rated?
Speaker 12 (02:27:35):
You know?
Speaker 7 (02:27:35):
It's funny, uh like Tom Jackson stopped me. Tommy our
former teammate over there at ESPN, long time Denver Bronco.
And he goes to me, he goes, he was in
the locker room for Super Bowl thirty two, and he said,
oh man, best pregame speech I ever heard. Mike Shannan
give you guys before gave me goosebumps. I knew you
guys were gonna win. And he and he's asking me
(02:27:56):
about it.
Speaker 9 (02:27:56):
I go, what do you say?
Speaker 7 (02:27:58):
And he goes, what do you mean what he said?
I wouldn't listen to that. I mean, I don't remember
it than you. I mean, I'm so I don't know
about you. But I was so locked into what I
had to do to make sure I didn't let my
team down.
Speaker 9 (02:28:10):
Right.
Speaker 7 (02:28:10):
Yeah, So you could say, Mike Shanahan get up.
Speaker 9 (02:28:13):
To say whatever he's gonna say.
Speaker 7 (02:28:14):
I wasn't paying any attention to what Mike Shanahan said.
I got a job to do.
Speaker 16 (02:28:17):
Man.
Speaker 7 (02:28:17):
I know what my job is. I'm a professional freaking
football player. So every I has got every tease crossed.
I'm ready to go chomping at the bit.
Speaker 1 (02:28:25):
Mark Schlaire a longtime television ESPN guy Fox and uh,
by the way, your show is awesome, you guys, and
the I love the name too, don't you. Yeah? Breakfast
is classic. What a great name and you guys got
great rapport. Also the fan in Denver, award winning and
a three time Super Bowl champ Pro bowler as well.
All right, Mark, Okay, you and I I've asked this
(02:28:48):
to a couple of people this week, but you, because
of your expertise in the run game and understand line
stunts and that part of the football. IQ, let's flip it,
be the defensive coordinator, your spagnolo this week. How you
stopping Barkley?
Speaker 7 (02:29:03):
Yeah, you know, I mean, I will tell you, Sean,
it's one of those situations where you're bringing that extra
defender into the box. You know, if they've got a
six man front, you're bringing a seventh guy in. You're
bringing an eighth guy in. But the bottom line is
you're just you're trying to contain him, right right.
Speaker 1 (02:29:22):
You don't want him to hit the home run, right Mark,
You got to make him those hit singles the whole time.
Speaker 7 (02:29:25):
Right, Yeah, Like I'm almost I'm almost of the belief
where like you say, Okay, we're gonna give you your yards,
but you're not gonna take one seventy and so I
don't know, man like vic Fangio does it. I don't
know if Stagnola will do it. But Vic Fangil plays
a lot of too high looks heels of the safeties
at about eleven twelve yards and you basically say, man,
(02:29:48):
we're gonna run riad our Runky's safety either safety's gonna
come down and get involved late, but we'll give up
the five or six yard games.
Speaker 1 (02:29:56):
We'll do that.
Speaker 7 (02:29:57):
Man, we get that eight man in box. You know
two things happen to you when you bring that extra defender.
You know this as a quarterback, you get one on
one access to the outside. You bring up an extra defender,
and whether you're Cover one, which is man to man,
or Cover three, which is his own. But if you
go vertical routes on those outside, it turns the man
you're in manda man yep. And so you get to
(02:30:18):
the benefit of two things happening. Do you get access
to the outside where you bring an eight man front,
and then with Saquon, they don't hesitate, and we did
an old time in Denver. Eight man friends will run that.
We'll run all day long on eight man front.
Speaker 9 (02:30:30):
Because we know how to do it right.
Speaker 7 (02:30:32):
We know how to turn a backside defender loose and
get somebody to the front side. And so if you
in an eight man front of you get them blocked
up or Saquon makes one guy miss I'm sorry, but
they're in the dB in the world that's going to
catch that son of a gun. So I'm almost wondering
if you just don't get into eight man fronts, if
you don't get into extra guys, you say, hey, look
we're giving up six yards to carry, but you ain't
(02:30:52):
busting one for seventy on us.
Speaker 1 (02:30:55):
Is Jalen Hurts capable? I mean, he had a really
good Super Bowl the last time they played. You is
that one other that he was the MVP of the game.
If they win, and he's such a poised player, but
we don't look at him as that pure throwing throw
for throw against a guy like Mahomes or a guy
that you know, whether it was Marino back in our
day or whether it's somebody who's just that that that
(02:31:15):
looks that part. But he's efficient. So in this game,
if they do get into a throwing contest, do you
trust him?
Speaker 7 (02:31:23):
I do, like I do trust him because I do
think if they get no throwing contest, they've got so
many like they have just so many weapons. And the
other thing is is they get the advantage of you
being so focused on suon that you're gonna get those
one on ones. You're gonna get those opportunities where you know,
based upon sau and based upon inserting safeties and how
(02:31:46):
they line up with the linebacker position, whether the boss
guys strong or they you know, they move guys to
the week, you know where you're getting that safety help,
so you really it really becomes a very easy read.
There's not much like there's not much disguise because you're
so worried about Saquon. So in those matchups, do I
believe that Jalen Hurts can do it? Absolutely?
Speaker 1 (02:32:08):
I do.
Speaker 7 (02:32:08):
I think one of the things you know that he
has been asked to do is just not turn the
ball over. So I look like he's being a really
unselfish player and people don't give him credit for all
that he really does in that offense. But I think
if it comes down to a throwing contest, I think
he'll get those matchups. And I like their receiving corps
in that old line better than I like the ones
(02:32:30):
in Kansas City.
Speaker 1 (02:32:32):
Mark, we come out of this game, the one statistic
that will be the telling that they will tell us
that the team that won. I know you're gonna I
believe by the talk Philadelphia, I saw your stuff on TV.
What will be the one stat coming out of this
that will tell us that team won. I think, I mean, I.
Speaker 7 (02:32:53):
Think it'll be Saquon and its tempts more than I
even think yardage.
Speaker 1 (02:32:57):
Hang on one second, let me interrupt you. Do you
realize Do you realize what I said on this show
about an hour ago? Well, my number one key is
My number one key is, look, when this game's over,
it not the yards, but the rushing attempts. The team
that's like in the thirties, the team that wins rushing
attempts is going to win this game as long as
they also don't turn it over four times right in
(02:33:18):
the red zone. I said that, so we are on
the exact same I don't care if it's thirty four
attempts for ninety yards. That team's got a hell of
an advantage if the other team hasn't matched the run game.
Speaker 7 (02:33:28):
Right, because there's a couple of things that are gonna
happen in that One, you're gonna possess the ball, right,
You're gonna win the time possession. Two, you're gonna get
a bunch of one on one access opportunities for your quarterback.
Speaker 16 (02:33:39):
Right.
Speaker 7 (02:33:39):
Like, when those two things happen, Man like like, hey man,
if I get a J. Brown a bunch of one
on ones, If I got Davonte Smith a bunch of
one on ones, if I get Dallas Godd a bunch
of one on ones, guess what's gonna happen. We're gonna
have success. And so yeah, I'm I'm one hundred percent
with you. You know, it's time of possession. It is
it is you know, eat up that clock. It is
(02:34:01):
getting those attempts. It's the pressure that Saquon puts on
people when he gets that ball. I just think that
that is a huge, huge, like that's just a huge
key factor.
Speaker 9 (02:34:12):
So you and I on the same page, is it.
Speaker 1 (02:34:14):
I'll let you go on this. You've worked your ass
off all week, brother, with traveling from New York and
back to New Orleans and all over. I appreciate your
time as is this a close one last possession? And
I'm assuming you got Philadelphia? What's the score?
Speaker 9 (02:34:28):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (02:34:28):
I think, you know, I think the Philadelphia Eagles. And
maybe this is wishful thinking because I hate the Kansasity
Chiefs of the White House, Death of the Thousand Sons.
So which is hard when you sit there and say,
hey man, you know you're gonna root for the ego
fan base, but I'm going Eagles, and I think it's
going to be like thirty one twenty. I think they
(02:34:49):
I think they can possess the ball. I think Saque
has a big day. And I also think, like for
Vic Fangil, he does a really good job. He did
when he was the head coach of the Broncos over
Kansas City. And I think one of the big things
is if I'm coaching that defense, I'm like, hey, my
linebackers are gonna play with about a yard or two
(02:35:09):
more yards of depth. I'm gonna take away that quick
passing game. Because you look at the first the first
quarter of the ANFC championship game, and the ball is
out in under two seconds.
Speaker 1 (02:35:21):
Yeah, and.
Speaker 7 (02:35:24):
It's traveling three yards and they're picking up twelve. And
so I'm saying, I'm gonna play from top down. I'm
not gonna play from stepping up, you know and getting depth, right,
So I'm gonna play from top down, and I'm gonna
make you Andy Reid being you, I'm gonna make you
run the ball. Do you have the wherewithal, do you
have the humility to actually hand it.
Speaker 9 (02:35:44):
To your running backs.
Speaker 7 (02:35:45):
I don't believe he does, because I don't believe that's
the way he wants to win. So I would make them.
I would invite them to run the crap out of
the ball and just see if Andy Reid will do it.
I'll give you five yards six yards to carry. Will
you do it?
Speaker 9 (02:35:58):
Will you take it? I don't believe he will.
Speaker 1 (02:36:00):
Great point, great stuff, as always you always every year
we get a chance to do a super but we
do it more than once. But I sure love having
you on, brother, and I'm proud of you and your
tremendous success. But you're you make me laugh every day,
and I love you like family, my man, and I
appreciate you. Please please tell the rest of your family.
I said hello, and we'll talk soon. We'll do Bud
(02:36:21):
be good, all right? That's Mark Slare is one of
my favorite people on the planet. And he explains it
about as good as you can. From alignment from a
guard position, even through all the positions. A guy understands football,
and he is as competitive and smart at that position
as you'll ever find. Love him, great person and he'll
make you laugh. He's a good follow on Twitter. Go
there and you'll watch him abuse the chief Kansas City Chiefs.
(02:36:43):
He's got and he is classic at it. A lot
of it's for fun, but he ain't backing off. You're
coming into his Twitter. You better be ready. Sports Talk
seven ninety we're gonna wrap this one up, our last
show before the super Bowl here Sports Talk seven ninety.
Speaker 4 (02:36:57):
There's a lot happening and he's got a lot to
say about it. Sean Salisbury continues on seven nineteen.
Speaker 1 (02:37:05):
Playoff. Lenny, Yeah, big game, Lenny, big beast too.
Speaker 19 (02:37:09):
Man.
Speaker 1 (02:37:09):
He could bring it, couldn't he. I don't know, could he?
He's strong, dude, less he was about football, Yeah, Lenny,
Lenny Fournette, Mark Schlair, great stuff, great inside, great week,
all our guests this week, great week. Yeah. Good great
job by you two. You go into the sheets, man
taking a nappy.
Speaker 5 (02:37:25):
I got, I got my TENU team scrimmage, and tonight
we got practice tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (02:37:28):
Loaded baseball seasons here, dog, Yeah, but I definitely taking it.
I hope somebody throws cheese up and in brushes back
one of your guys. Dude, they're ten Yeah, I want
the brush back, and then I want the opposing manager.
When you play in the game to talk crap to
you to come across like cause you're like being a
little too aggressive on the base pass and wants to
throw down. We're gonna steal like seventy backs and wants
(02:37:48):
to throw down on you. It comes over there and
like and like rolls up on you. I'll take a chart.
Speaker 5 (02:37:53):
Ah, let's go the other way with it, all right,
let's make our picks Super Bowl Sunday.
Speaker 6 (02:38:00):
I'm with Mark, give me the Eagles.
Speaker 1 (02:38:02):
There you go. See everybody's just picking the Eagles because
well they got the better roster. But man, oh it's
down to one case, just one point favorite. Now they
go ahead. I want the Eagles. Give me the Eagles
thirty four to twenty four. Okay, ten points and a
lot of ass kicking there. The Triple E wants to
score in the game.
Speaker 6 (02:38:21):
I'm thinking a little thirty four thirty.
Speaker 1 (02:38:25):
Oh there you go. People aren't gonna like this. Give
me final drive. Oh no, down thirty twenty eight. No,
Mahomes gets buttker in position. That didn't sound right. Pause
and he pumps like a forty two yarder, yeah, forty
(02:38:45):
four yarder, and they win thirty one to thirty. As
a walk off. No, yeah, three people. Well, you know,
we got a shout out to Andy Reid. You know
he's a professor, man, he makes it happen. Travis, you know,
he only had four catches for thirty five yards, but
they were at the right time. I only threw for
one hundred and seventy five yards. Pacheco really did well.
And shout out to Chris Jones. That defense. Yeah, I'm
(02:39:06):
gonna I'm gonna go, and no defensive player is gonna
be thirty one thirty thirty one thirty in dramatic fashion cheats.
Speaker 5 (02:39:14):
The only only reason I would ever root for the
Chiefs is to get DeAndre Hopkins a ring. I loved
him when he was here. He was quiet. He just
took care of his business. No drama, no bs Well,
isn't your sentimental bitch ass.
Speaker 1 (02:39:28):
I'm serious, man, That's the only reason. But I hope,
I hope Chican Barkley rushes for so it's a chance
for DeAndre to get one. So you're not gonna throw
him love na, Okay, Chican Barkley, here we go. Okay,
all right, all right, super Bowl gimme yeah, give me,
give me a Chiefs thirty one thirty on a walk Off.
Speaker 5 (02:39:48):
He is Sean Tripley is our producer on Brian have
a great super Bowl weekend. Monday morning at six am,
will break down the super Bowl. We'll see if Alec
Bregan signs anywhere.
Speaker 1 (02:39:57):
Who knows?
Speaker 5 (02:39:58):
Be stafe, be careful this weekend, Colin Uber, don't be
an idiot. The Matt Thomas Show with Ross is next
