ass to work, Cod out of work. You wouldn't be

would not. Speaking of Cod and tie, have you guys
seen what's going on? A little nonsports related. We'll get back,
We'll get to play in sports. Don't don't you worry
you guys, see what's going on with the what's his name,

(03:43):
Will Smith's son? Yes? Oh my god, is he really
a son? Yeah it is.

Speaker 10 (03:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (03:51):
The light detector tests showed that you are the father,
like Maury Povich. Yeah, have you seen it? You haven't
seen it? John, This could be a topic for y'all
stuff in the afternoon.

Speaker 5 (04:01):
Yeah, I didn't. I get to a certain time of
day where I been reading a lot of books, you know,
where you get to a point, say, best way to
wake up in the morning, the best way to go
to bed at night, stay off your phone, and don't
look at the you know what's the first thing most
people do when they wake up in the morning, check
the look before they even before they even wash their

(04:21):
face or get in a shower. Yeah, and I've tried
lately not to do that, and it works. Like, Hey, Sean,
do you see this how Chuck Schumer is a dumbass?

Speaker 9 (04:30):
Oh?

Speaker 10 (04:30):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (04:31):
Or that Nancy Pelosi looks like the crip keeper. Now, yeah,
I saw that. Okay. But other than that, when I
wake up in the morning, I try not to reach
for it first or late night. And I'll be honest,
some nights I'll set that damn thing down at like
six o'clock and I will not look at it again
because of the negativity of justicile here we go again
or people it just so there's times I'll miss until

(04:54):
like we get here, or you see it after you've
woke up after a while to see it. So I
don't know what's going on with Will Smith. I don't
pay it too. And I think his wife's a nut job.
It's just me.

Speaker 6 (05:04):
It's Jaden Smith, the son. Yeh, he's uh yeah, he's
uh triple. How would you describe it?

Speaker 5 (05:13):
To explain to me what's going on? Flamboyant?

Speaker 6 (05:15):
Flamboyant? Is is he's walking around looking like boy George essentially?

Speaker 5 (05:19):
And I and you asked, did I not say, well?
Is he?

Speaker 9 (05:22):
Is?

Speaker 11 (05:22):
He?

Speaker 5 (05:22):
His son? That That's what I meant at that part.
I did know because I've known for a while. I mean,
we've seen him. He's he's he beats to a little
he beats to a different dramas. But what's the issue.

Speaker 6 (05:33):
He's wearing a blouse with like some jeans and he's
literally carrying a purse.

Speaker 5 (05:38):
Well, you know in Hollywood they say when you were
like three or four years old, you're old enough to
make a decision on what's your sexual preferences.

Speaker 6 (05:45):
That's right, that's yeah.

Speaker 5 (05:48):
Hey, he just he or she just came out of
the womb, and uh, I've got to make a decision.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
Well, why don't you look at the parents.

Speaker 5 (05:55):
It doesn't fall far from the tree about there, and
how she goes on and talks about banging other dudes
and he goes and slaps the Chris Rock in the face,
and that she's talking about. I mean, listen to her podcast.
I mean she's she's secondary. I mean she's in the
same league, but in a different way. Yeah, not politics
that the view is, she's out, she's at her ever

(06:15):
loving mind. And if you will Smith, she tries to
emasculate him regularly and he lets it happen. I just
sent that nut job packing. She ain't that hot, Okay,
she she's I don't know what. I don't know if
that's all, but I for me, there's nothing there can

(06:39):
be nothing more insane or mentally ill. And if you're
like then telling me as a parent, and if you
don't like hearing this, I don't give a crap. Okay,
telling me that when my kids born at three or four. Yeah,
I let them decide. I let them decide what their

(06:59):
sexual I can tell you if he was born with
a pecker, he's a guy, okay. Okay. If he holds
his Johnson in his hand when he peas, that makes
him a dude. Okay, and it'll always be a guy, okay.
And if he squatched the pee, it's a female. Well
in most cases, okay, so save it. Listen. I don't

(07:21):
need to be tolerant of a three year old being
born in a parent, or a four year old telling
me in Hollywood, hey or anywhere else, Hey, my four
year old, they're making their own decisions. We're gonna really
they can't even spell their own name it for. And
you want him to make decisions about whether you want
him to to chop off their pecker or not. Okay? No, sorry,

(07:41):
if you got to make the decision when you're eighteen
year old, to make the decision, not bothering me. It
ain't my pecker. Okay, do whatever you want to do,
that's fine. But when it comes to a four year
old or five year old in this Holly, I don't
know what happened to them in Hollywood, but all of
a sudden something hits and they just become whack job
nut jobs, not all of them, but some of them.

(08:03):
And allowing a four year old to make a decision
on their sexual preference, not even sexual preference, that's not there.
It's not preference. I don't care about their sexual preference.
That's the wrong to their well, who they are, whether
they're male or female. I guess what I'm saying, not
their preference. Listen, gay, I could care less, But a
four year old doesn't know the difference, right, They don't

(08:23):
know the difference. A five year old doesn't know difference.
Apparently some in Hollywood thinks I'm not even talking about preference.
I'm talking about their sexual what they're born with, right,
A male or female is my point, not the other way,
but male, Because listen, the world's filled with straight people,
gay people, and straight and gay good people. And I
could care less if you're gay. That has never bothered
me one bit. I'm not gay, but I don't care

(08:44):
if you are. And it's not completely tolerant. It doesn't
bother me at all. Some people it does. That's the
you know, I could care less about that either way.
But when you tell me a four year old decides, well,
I'm gonna but my four year old's decided he wants
to be a girl, so let's send him in to me.
That is that? That is abuse? Yeah, it just is.
So that's the part I'm talking about a four year

(09:05):
old in my home. A four year old wasn't good
to decide whether he wanted his pecker or not. Okay, stop, okay,
good gracious. So yeah that Hollywood, the wackos now that
kids hell holds a kid twenty twenty. He's old enough
to decide if he wants to have a purse. I
could care less, honestly, if he wants to walk down,

(09:25):
if he wants to boy George, then start singing good
songs and let's go. We'll join culture club. I could
care less. But a five year old, when they're a
kid making those decisions. Twenty eight But hasn't he had
like hasn't he been like gay or for a while
as I thought I thought that he'd had I for
some reason, it felt That's why when you said it,

(09:46):
That's why I said, I don't I think that he's
been I don't think he woke up one day and
decided he was guy. I thought he I thought he'd been.
I thought he'd been a while. No, I didn't know that.
I thought he yeah, a couple of years ago. Yeah,
this was this. This is not new new to me.
So the decision for a twenty eight year old decide
whether he likes men or women doesn't bother me. I
don't care what you do, and I never have.

Speaker 4 (10:09):
I never have.

Speaker 5 (10:09):
I've known that for a while. Oh yeah I did.
So that doesn't bother me. It doesn't bother me. I
so damn, he's rocking that person because person I don't care.
Like I said, he came. How many friends do you
know that that people don't know? So I've got a
couple of my very very good friends over the course

(10:29):
of my career, a former teammate, that doesn't I honestly,
if you're a good person, who you discards to fall
in love with, or who you decide to be, how
you decide to dress, it really doesn't bother me. You're
not affecting me. And if it gives somebody peace of
mind because they like men or women and they're saying
of the same sect, I don't care where I draw
the line as a five year old deciding they can

(10:50):
have sexual surgery that the parents said once he wants
to be a girl now to see to me, that
is a blatant abuse. The gay thing, I don't know.
I I actually don't even understand why. I don't whether
I'm straight, you know it could be, but I don't
understand why people are mad all the time if somebody's
just Some of the best people I've ever met are

(11:12):
gay as gay as it gets, and it doesn't bother
me because they're good people with good heart and soul.
My thing is, when you're this Hollywood stuff thinks, well,
we're Hollywood, we're royalty, everybody loves us. I am gonna
it's all optics too, When when when somebody comes up
my five year old is going to make their own
decision at.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
Five, Hey, cut the pecker off.

Speaker 5 (11:32):
No no, no, that that's abuse. Okay that that that's
actually abuse, and that's got to stop when they're eighteen.
If they want to decide to do it, then you
better find somebody who allows you to do it or
what have you. To me, that's where I draw the
line gay. I could care less if he's gay or not.
It doesn't bother me. Heck, there's a there that that's
an everyday thing now in life. It doesn't bother me.
A matter of fact, it doesn't bother me one bit.

(11:54):
But when you bought Will Smith, I thought, well, what
do you do now? No, I just yeah, I think
he's he's been he's been feminine for a while.

Speaker 6 (12:03):
Yeah, I missed that one.

Speaker 9 (12:04):
Damn.

Speaker 6 (12:05):
Okay, my bady, no problem. Then the drip looks good.

Speaker 5 (12:08):
Yeah, person had no problem. But it doesn't take away
from the fact that that relationship is wackle. It's weird
and a husband and wife. Yeah, wackle. Hey, Will, I'm
gonna go bang somebody else you want.

Speaker 6 (12:20):
To, I mean, I'm gonna What was she doing? It
was like her it was her son's friend.

Speaker 5 (12:23):
Yeah, boy, she's hey, but I'm gonna be a great example. Listen,
what's her name, Jada Pinkett, Yeah, Jada Pinkett Smith. She
she's she's a French fries short of a happy meal buddy,
A couple of them. Yeah, she's and she she feels
angry all the time. Yeah, well she's at the world.
I said, but their sons, what are you gonna do?
Tell your twenty eight year old son can't be again?
Who cares like I said, is it really affected me

(12:45):
and you that the kid's gay? No, I could care less.
You're a good person, and he may be the nicest
kid in the world. I don't know. I know one
thing though. Hollywood's filled with wackos. I can promise you that.
And and if if someone wanted, Hollywood have to turn
on this here in today, he said, how dare him
say that my five year old can't make the decision
on whether they are a male or female? I got

(13:06):
news for it. How was he born with a pecker?
It's a boy, okay, and it will be forever. If
he cuts it off, then that's that's a hymn problem
or her whatever you want to call it. But when
it comes to gay, doesn't bother me one bit. And
I'm not that Like I said, I thought, what happened to?

Speaker 6 (13:20):
What would he do? What's this kid? What's the kids name?
Jayden So?

Speaker 5 (13:25):
Jaydon Smith? Yeah, I've known that, I've known for a while.
He he he tilted a little bit feminine.

Speaker 6 (13:31):
That's okay, all right? I had don't bother me a
bit bad. I take that back. You needn't to go
see Mike today, did you who? Mohammad No, didn't. I
got my own waters.

Speaker 5 (13:41):
I almost brought you in, uh mickey the ease, but
I figured if he wanted to order, you know, if
it's your last day here, we'll fill you with the
real healthy meal, one that I'm sure Robert Kennedy would
be real happy with, what I say, Right, all right, okay, yeah,
well Robert, there you go. I call him Bobby. Yeah, Bobby.
You know, you know he cannot have dudes, don't make
fun of his voice. You know that's a couple of

(14:02):
years ago, and it happens. I know, I mean, can imagine.

Speaker 6 (14:06):
I'm not making fun of his voice. I'm just doing
an impersonation like I always do.

Speaker 5 (14:09):
You get you can't you can't have you offend me
and trip with your you guys talk. You know, how
dare you want to have McDonald sean you can't have that?
And then they eat it the White House Donald loves
to Loves loves some whine. But hey, so you're making
fun of it? No, no, but you're allowed to. Could

(14:29):
you make fun of It's not making fun of it's affectionate.

Speaker 6 (14:32):
Yes, yousations are the biggest form of flattery or whatever
they say, What is it? Well, you're the one who's
coming up with then't it?

Speaker 5 (14:40):
It's the sincerest form of flattery. Yeah, that's right. Yeah,
that's what I said. Yeah, there you go. Great to
have you. So if you want some to make it
ease your forehead, you will see how the morning goes.
You like that for peckers four times and you're like
em fatic with it. You stressed the peak seven one
three two one two five seven ninety.

Speaker 6 (15:02):
Let's uh talk a little Texans football ian rapaport. Could
they be interested in signing a big time wide receiver?

Speaker 9 (15:09):
Who is it?

Speaker 6 (15:10):
That's next?

Speaker 9 (15:13):
Let's go.

Speaker 4 (15:14):
This is this Sean Salisbury show.

Speaker 5 (15:17):
You know, like when you go to strip clubs, when
you get the guy strip god, you put your head
on the hand.

Speaker 6 (15:21):
Yeah yeah yeah.

Speaker 5 (15:23):
Do you like cup? You little cup? Couple field? Yeah,
kill cup? You cut it on a copper.

Speaker 6 (15:27):
Field, copper field.

Speaker 5 (15:28):
Yeah, there's right. Yeah, But I mean you'll be okay, Yeah,
you're okay. I mean, no big deal. You know is
did I see nicolea Jokic get a fight? No, that's
plumbly okay. I just saw from the business they look alike.
You know what that love I was gonna.

Speaker 6 (15:41):
Say Rockets beat the Suns last night and.

Speaker 5 (15:44):
That okay, I'm looking. I wasn't. I just stared up
with the TV and I saw a guy going on
the ground, look like I was about to say if
if that was yeah, his two brothers are gonna kill
you now. But if I'm plumbly, I like it. Steven
Adams might be one of the wrong guy. But Plumbly
got a little it was a good little bum plumbing
kind of body slamed him. But then excuse me if

(16:05):
what they didn't show on the clip there is Steven
Adams tried to go out him in the in the
tunnel and he had to be held back.

Speaker 4 (16:11):
That's he.

Speaker 5 (16:12):
That's a big that that's too big South African right
or is he New Zealand whatever?

Speaker 4 (16:15):
He is New Zealand.

Speaker 5 (16:17):
Oh yeah, yeah I did. I did not see. Uh,
I did not see that morning. I think, why is
yok getting in a fight? But they have they have
that same little bald head, you know, like the burr haircut,
you know. Yeah, big white, big goofy white boy.

Speaker 6 (16:33):
A little peach fuzz. Yeah, there you go, that's what
little peach fuzz seven one three, two one two five
seven eyes number to join Bonnie Joe. Good morning.

Speaker 12 (16:41):
Hey, how are you guys. It's a sad day, isn't it.

Speaker 5 (16:46):
Ah?

Speaker 6 (16:47):
Yeah, you know it's Uh. I wouldn't even say it's
a bittersweet. Yeah, it's just sad, Bonnie Joe, it is.

Speaker 13 (16:52):
It sucks, well, it will melancholy, you know that kind
of I'm gonna come outside so we don't.

Speaker 12 (16:57):
There's weird places in my house anyway.

Speaker 13 (17:00):
Brian, I just want to end good morning, Sean and
Triple good morning.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
Hey.

Speaker 5 (17:04):
Before you give all your flowers of Brian and I'm
gonna sit this one out and go, I just wanted
to thank you for your incredible and I'm sending you
a message in a note too, but thank you publicly
for your phenomenal birthday gifts. You and your husband are
spectacular people. I pray for your health all the time,
and you're just a special person. Thank you. I mean
who sends birthday gifts listening to the I mean, you
do it all the time, and you're as good a

(17:26):
person in as areas and we think about you all
the time, and I just want to publicly thank you,
so thank you, and now take it away because Brian,
I know how Brian feels about you, and I know
how you feel about him too.

Speaker 13 (17:36):
Hey, Yes, and thank you so much, Sean. That was
very kind and thoughtful of you to say that. So, Brian,
I am going to miss you greatly. I'm especially going
to miss your horrible acumen on movies that everybody should
have seen some of the best movies in the world.
But besides that, you have just been so great on

(18:00):
this show and have added so much. Sean's wonderful on
his own, but you two together, the chemistry has just
been awesome and that's what makes people really tune in
and listen to you guys, not just because of what
you know about sports, but just the banter between between

(18:21):
the two of you and the topic shall get all fun.

Speaker 9 (18:25):
But I.

Speaker 13 (18:27):
Want to tell you just good luck in your new
venture and I know you'll be great, but we will
miss you also very very much. And I want to
say this, and I may be wrong, Brian, and if
I am, I wrote it down wrong.

Speaker 12 (18:44):
But is it your birthday? Saturday?

Speaker 6 (18:46):
It is, yes, ma'am, it is Saturday.

Speaker 12 (18:48):
Yes, well, happy birthday.

Speaker 6 (18:49):
Thank you early. Thank you so yeah.

Speaker 13 (18:52):
When I've found out you were leaving, I did not
send a card. I was afraid it wouldn't get there
in time. So anyway, I want you to have a
great birthday and have a great new work life and
career life, and I hope everything.

Speaker 12 (19:09):
Works out for you. But we are going to miss you.

Speaker 13 (19:12):
And you know, Seawan's taking off tomorrow, you know, to
console himself.

Speaker 12 (19:16):
He's going to be in a day.

Speaker 5 (19:17):
I am, that's for sure. That's a fact.

Speaker 12 (19:20):
That's exactly what it is.

Speaker 13 (19:22):
But I just want you to know, Brian, how much
you you've brought to the show and how you make
me laugh and and uh again, your knowledge of sports
is great, but just just you as a person.

Speaker 12 (19:37):
I think you're a great guy.

Speaker 13 (19:39):
So good luck with everything, and it'll be weird not
hearing Seawn Souisbury Brian Lolima any longer as well.

Speaker 6 (19:49):
Well, thank you so much, Bonnie Joe. I appreciate the
kind words and of course everything you've done not just
for us or not just for me, but for us
with your gifts and and kind words and calling in.
Like Sean said, we're always, you know, discussing you and
hope that your health is getting better and better, especially
with your husband as well. Thank you again, Bonnie Joe.

Speaker 13 (20:07):
Oh you're You're welcome then, Sean, don't worry. I'm still
gonna call in even though Brian, well, I'm gonna.

Speaker 5 (20:13):
Need you to. I'm gonna need you to. You gotta
be pouting for about a month here. So thank you
so much, buddy, Joe. I have a great one, and again,
thank you for the great gifts. We appreciate you.

Speaker 12 (20:21):
You bet you, y'all take care.

Speaker 6 (20:22):
Yeah, thank you.

Speaker 5 (20:23):
What a special lady she is. I can tell you
this that she's not lying. Dude, I have zero reason
to be taking a day off tomorrow other than I
want to, and I got four hundred of them. Yeah, yeah,
I'm taking a day off tomorrow because it actually does
bump me out. Yeah, and I'll have the weekend too.
It sucks, it is. The show's gonna go on or
be fine. It'll be great, you know it'll be we'll

(20:44):
do great things. The chemistry is off the charts. As
I've said before, I don't need to get into that now.
We'll do it as a show goes on. But I
think that's I don't even need to say that, Bunny,
It's it's evident, right. The sports is great. Nobody, man,
we can talk you, you can talk sports, read sports,
be passion about sports that we are. But you can't
invent enforced what we have and it's special. And that's
normally when these things break up, somebody's retiring, somebody goes off,

(21:07):
somebody's not good, so just the chemistry sucks moving on.
It's rare that somebody's going on to something else because
they deserve more money and want to go get it.
You know you ain't leaving because you like a different
career more. No, I mean you got to let's just
face facts. It's it's just a financial a year at
the stage where you're trying to build a foundation. And
I fully get it, and you know it's crazy, but

(21:28):
most people don't leave it name one complain. We have
zero about the show. This trifecta is off the charts.
We love it. The show's kicking ass. We got great
people in here, us three together working together and the
US against the world mentality in a good way without
and great listeners, great callers, great fans, great friends, people
supporting us. We just built it without force, and it's

(21:50):
just and it wasn't we'll do this and we'll do this.
It just kind of turned on and I can win.
That's when you know. So that's that's the reason. It's
like when you get you know, like when normally these
that are somebody's mad because they didn't get their three
year con whatever it is, right, And I'm talking about
in the world and see any job you do. But
in the media business I've been in a long time,

(22:11):
normally breakups are because somebody goes on they got a
bigger offer in the same business, or they just didn't
their partner. They move, well, they sucked, they already they
forced a square backing around hole. They weren'ty good. That's okay,
and they went onto a different career. But when you
have chemistry the show listeners, it's just it's it's like,

(22:33):
that's the biggest bomber's It's like you're sitting up there,
it's like, well, why why would we You know, you
almost feel like Butch Cassid in the Sun dance kitting,
but nobody's jumping off a cliff on a horse. You know,
you wouldn't know that because.

Speaker 4 (22:44):
You don't know.

Speaker 5 (22:45):
But right there you go, so you get an idea, right,
So it's just that that's the hardest part. But she
is one hundred percent I am taking off. I'm I'm
I'm not going anywhere. I'm not going to play golf.
Well that that might be try. I might play golf tomorrow,
but I'm not going anywhere. I get them more off
because like eh frod, I wouldn't be any good on Friday. Yeah, okay, yeah,

(23:05):
Dan would be doing it basically alone if I yeah, yeah,
and they they'll they'll be great, but uh, I'll be
back on month. But I am Bonnie she I know
she was joking, but I am taking it off to
I don't know if mourn's the right word, but it's
kind of I'm gonna sleep my ass in.

Speaker 9 (23:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (23:21):
I might even drink tonight and then fall asleep, so
there you go. I don't do that during the week. Yeah, yeah, great,
Ron Bonny Joe spectacular.

Speaker 6 (23:29):
She's great, man, She's great. Seven one three, two two

Speaker 4 (24:23):
Hey, good morning, Brian.

Speaker 14 (24:25):
Uh I just wanted to I was hoping to be
the first caller, but you know, Bonnie was it was
appropriate she went first today. She's a great lady, And uh,
I just wanted to wish you the best. And it's
gonna be it's gonna be rough without you. And I
was just kidding the other day a shooter is gonna
miss you. And you know, I want to wish you
a happy birthday as well. You know, I know there's Sean,

(24:48):
I know there's gonna be an adjustment, but you know,
we have a great group of uh callers and listeners,
and the show will go on and we're gonna be
there with you.

Speaker 5 (24:58):
Amen. Amen, Yeah, We're.

Speaker 14 (25:00):
All going to be there for you and Brian again,
just wish you the best. Hey, could I I have
a question? Uh an astros question?

Speaker 5 (25:08):
Is that all right?

Speaker 2 (25:09):
If I?

Speaker 4 (25:09):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (25:10):
Hey, real quick, John, thank you, first of all, thank
you for the kind words, and thank you for the
birthday wishes and obviously, uh the well wishes. But man,
I've always appreciated you know, your calls and you know
the knowledge that you have. You've always been, you know,
really good to us, even even when you and Sean
kind of get into it me and you kind of
got into it, you know, the next day it was

(25:30):
back to normal, you know what I mean, And we
laugh at it now, right, So I just appreciate it
from from that perspective, man, That's right.

Speaker 14 (25:36):
I mean, every you know, you have to respect everybody's
opinions and and you know, it's it's good to have.
The back and forth makes for.

Speaker 5 (25:42):
Good banter, man, That's the way it is. Respect. Yeah,
did we get to the point in life where you
couldn't disagree or have good banter and be pissed over
our subject and then the next day laugh about to
put your arm around it and talk. I mean, I
don't know, we don't have to hate somebody. And you've
been one of our great people on here.

Speaker 2 (25:58):
Brother.

Speaker 6 (25:58):
Yeah, appreciate so we really appreciate it.

Speaker 15 (26:00):
Man.

Speaker 14 (26:00):
Thanks, thanks, thanks, yeah, and it's all.

Speaker 6 (26:02):
Healthy, right, yeah, yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 14 (26:05):
You know, I saw I saw Verlander was on Dan Patrick,
and you know Verland was going to be in the
Hall of Fame. There's no question. The question is is
going to be Detroit or Houston. I mean there's a
good case for both. I mean he he was what
one eight three and one fourteen with a three point
four to nine ERA across two thy five d eleven innings,

(26:26):
which in twenty three hundred seventy three strikeers. That's pretty impressive.
And then we all know what he did when he
got here in Houston. Of course, he won five and zero,
you know when he got here and was a big
reason we got the World Series. And and uh, I know,
I was curious what you guys think, what's he going
to do? Do you think he's going to go in

(26:46):
we're in the Detroit hat or the Houston hat. I
just wanted to throw that out there because.

Speaker 9 (26:51):
Nobody seems to know.

Speaker 14 (26:52):
I don't even think he knows yet at this point,
but I was just curious how you think that's going
to end up.

Speaker 6 (26:58):
So appreciate it all. This sounds good luck again, Brian,
thank you, thank you. I said, what's up? Hey, here's
here's Remember.

Speaker 5 (27:07):
The one thing is that he gets to say it,
doesn't he but he doesn't get to make the full decision.
A lot they got some saying it. I I I
think if you're in Detroit, you'd say he has to
go in as a tiger. If you're in Houston, you're
saying he has to go in in Houston. If you're Verlander,
you almost want to split it down the middle and

(27:27):
say I had some great success here and great success there.
My gut is he's going to be a Detroit Tiger.
That's my gut. Yeah, not what I want with my gut.
The truth is, does it really matter?

Speaker 6 (27:39):
It doesn't matter. No, But I think I think that
I think he's going to be an astro two.

Speaker 5 (27:43):
Titles, right, Yeah, but he had some but shorter term, right,
that's what what what? What holds more weight? Longevity of
going through difficulty? He came here turning around all they've
had here for the most part, other than his injuries,
he's had nothing but success here. And that's a great thing.
Sometimes I can my life. You know, my memories go more.
Not talking about Hall of Fame, but my memories go more.

(28:04):
Is where did I hit rock Bottom? Fight my way
through it? Who was there when I was fighting my way?
Not that he's hit rock But you get my point
and say and survived? But yeah, if you're going by tiles,
I get short term. I mean incredible success here and
this is where he got a World Series ring there,
He won cy Young, he won the MVP, great teammates,

(28:25):
was there longer? I you know what I'm for me,
I would love it if he was here. I don't
to me, it really doesn't matter. We got a piece
of him here. Detroit loves me. But if he goes here,
don't you think Detroit has an argument? I mean when
I say the fans can say, wait a second, now,
why not us? And then if he goes to them,

(28:45):
we'll wait a second now, why not? As you won
championships here? He had more wins in Detroit, he had awards,
he didn't get the World Series ring, got two of
them here.

Speaker 6 (28:53):
Thirteen years with Detroit, seven years with Houston.

Speaker 5 (28:56):
Double time, and in those thirteen years doesn't wear a
World Series ring. And here he is too so and
he wont to cy Young here did he not?

Speaker 4 (29:02):
He did?

Speaker 5 (29:03):
Yeah, Cole, it's exactly right. So when win too? Yeah.
So there's so the individual honors and the team honors
he got here, longevity and individual honors he.

Speaker 6 (29:15):
Got there, finished second eighteen.

Speaker 5 (29:17):
Yeah. Oh he in his short period of time here, dude,
being in the cy Young Hunt three and seven years
is dominant, and he was dominant there. I don't know,
and I like you, like John said, he doesn't know.
Does the front become Detroit, in the back of the
hat become are you allowed to do that? Become an
astros thing? Can you put the astros in front, split

(29:39):
the D in the the H down the middle with
two colors on it. I don't know how how they
I don't know how you decide you shouldn't have to
be stressed over a decision like this. You're a Hall
of Famer, right, But I don't know, and I don't
know put it this way, No matter where he decides,
it's gonna bum out the other the other friend, Oh
sure it is?

Speaker 9 (29:58):
You?

Speaker 6 (29:59):
Uh mean, when it comes to splitting the teams, you
like splitting D, don't you?

Speaker 5 (30:04):
Oh yeah, the D in the H Yeah? Oh yeah,
oh yeah, you split it right down split tail, right
down the middle. Right you know what I'm saying? Oh yeah, yeah,
you gotta split it right down the middle. I don't know,
would you be are you gonna be like? Are you
gonna lose sleepover?

Speaker 6 (30:17):
If he's a tiger, if he splits the D or
if he's a tiger?

Speaker 4 (30:21):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (30:21):
Sorry?

Speaker 4 (30:21):
In truth?

Speaker 5 (30:23):
Are you going to sleep over it?

Speaker 11 (30:24):
Now?

Speaker 6 (30:24):
And if if you're a Detroit fans like, oh you
know what? I take that back? You are you want
me to go super Homer on it?

Speaker 5 (30:30):
Don't? No, I want you to go super honesty on it. No,
I don't care. Right there, you don't care, and I
don't either. No, be cool.

Speaker 6 (30:36):
If he was an astro of course, a lot of
success here, but also started his career in Detroit thirteen years.

Speaker 5 (30:42):
Clemens gonna do is he's a Red Sox right? Or
is he a Yankee? Or is he? I mean he
also and he also won Toronto Blue Jay did with
a sigh, young in Toronto as well.

Speaker 6 (30:52):
I'm not mistaken, yeh. He ain't seven in the hall though, unfortunately,
and he should be right, he should be.

Speaker 5 (30:57):
Yeah. He one of the most dominant righthanders of all
all the time. He was nasty. Yeah, yeah, bad tipper though,
So I don't give a shot then. I don't know.
I've never had a meal with Roger.

Speaker 6 (31:06):
I met him, No, I you know, golf course man?

Speaker 5 (31:10):
Oh well, yeah.

Speaker 6 (31:11):
You know when a backroom attendant that's nineteen years old
cat doesn't caddy for you, but does everything for you
in thirty five degree weather because you just had to
play golf in December, and you tip him five bucks,
you're an ass.

Speaker 5 (31:23):
Whoa, I'll say it. You did, didn't you?

Speaker 6 (31:26):
Yeah, only dude on the course. It was literally thirty
six degrees out, light rain and this jackass was playing golf.
Have you ever thought thanks for the five bucks, Roger.
Have you ever thought people don't forget man? Have you
ever thought that maybe Roger was teaching a life lesson?

Speaker 5 (31:39):
No, he was being a cheap skate, is what it was.
Thanks bro, clem uh Yeah, but he's a red sock
if he gets in right, No red Sox below No,
he of course he's a red Sox.

Speaker 6 (31:52):
No, No, you look at the ear. That's a no brainer.

Speaker 5 (31:56):
Okay, let me say another thing about this, about what
I like to give you my statu of the day.
I got a couple of the day. Do you know
that Alex Evetchkin's about to break Wayne Gretzky's scoring record
goal score? Do you know that if Wayne Gretzky, if
you took every single goal that he scored away from

(32:18):
his career, nothing but assists, do you know he's the
all times points scorer in hockey history. What I'm gonna
say it again. If you take away Gretzky's goals, He's
the all time goal scorer. Take those away, He's still
the all time points leader in the NHL history. He
was that good man and great and okins, not Gretzky.

(32:39):
I mean, there's you know, Mario Lemieux, Sid Crosby great,
but as in the team picture, and he's good to
get it. Yeah, But do you want to talk about
alarming stats? That's pretty pretty impressive. You think, oh my god, frightening. Yeah, dude,
that's your hockey stat of.

Speaker 6 (32:55):
The day is the number to join. Bill Damian Robber
will get out to you guys next. Let's roll along
right here on seven ninety.

Speaker 5 (33:03):
Hey, sort of pro painters, sort of what they see

sort of pro business is individually owned and operated boutique,
feel big work, did it in my home, customer. I
tell it all the time. And why I'm not talking
on a product I don't use, and I talk on
it because I love them and I'm grateful now to

(33:24):
be a part of the family. And customer. First, let's see. Hey,
you guys want to see right, you want to get
the estimate you want to see, well, I can tell
you and talk to people who've used them. You know
who they are. Official painting partner, the Houston Astros. It's
expensive to own a home in a business interior, exterior.
They'll do whatever you need. So if it's expensive, whether
you're staying in it, moving it, want to stare at yourself,
want the neighbors to love it. It doesn't matter. You

(33:46):
want to look good. And if it's just ego and pride,
who the hell doesn't want it? To look good. I
know I would, and I do. And cert of Pro
came in there and made it happen. Curta pro painters
sort of with the sea and you want it, you
want to protect it with the quality painting as sort
of pro painters, So let's do that. It's sort of

(34:08):
pro the official painting partner of the Houston Astros. And
I love them and I'm so grateful they come in.
They're local, they're timely. They they did my home the
same way they'd do their own if it was with family.
How can you not love them? Sort of pro painters.
Sirtopro dot com for that free estimate, they will do
it right and you di I wires. It gives you
and frees you up more time to go do some

(34:28):
other things at your home. Sort of pro painters, sort
of pro painters. That's painting Happy.

Speaker 4 (34:35):
This is the Sean Salisbury Show.

Speaker 16 (34:37):
Are you not the time?

Speaker 9 (34:40):
Let's begin.

Speaker 4 (34:43):
Alcohol? Oh yeah, cow on Sports Talk seven ninety.

Speaker 5 (34:51):
A lot of load management going on over my heart.

Speaker 6 (34:54):
Uh huh man, A lot of it to.

Speaker 5 (34:57):
Man, No, I actually had to take it, had to
take it down because I'm gonna be morning because of you.
So I'm blaming on you.

Speaker 6 (35:02):
Pull a hammy man. Yeah, let's get out to the
phone lines. Talk to Bill.

Speaker 5 (35:06):
Good morning, Bill, Good morning gentlemen.

Speaker 17 (35:09):
You know, I am so glad that you guys picked
Brian's last morning on the radio to set the seven
ninety record for use of the word pecker before seven
Damn right, brother, I think that's that's gotta be an
all tiber there that that's that's just the rest of
my day is downhill from here.

Speaker 5 (35:31):
A pecker from a pecker? Would there you go? I'm
telling you hate Brian?

Speaker 4 (35:37):
So so what am I going to do?

Speaker 18 (35:38):
Uh?

Speaker 17 (35:39):
Who's gonna give us our Todd callus impersonations now?

Speaker 19 (35:43):
Uh?

Speaker 17 (35:43):
And who's gonna give us our Monday morning barbecue rants
on the Texans offensive line next fall?

Speaker 9 (35:50):
I couldna miss that, dude.

Speaker 6 (35:52):
Yeah, you know, I don't know, Bill. Maybe I'll just
call in once a week and give you, uh, give
you my t K update.

Speaker 9 (35:59):
No, we will let it.

Speaker 17 (36:02):
Well, you gotta you gotta get through that dude on
the on the board, brother, the board.

Speaker 9 (36:05):
Though he might not let you.

Speaker 5 (36:06):
Yeah, that's tough getting through.

Speaker 3 (36:09):
I don't know.

Speaker 17 (36:10):
There you go, let me say this and this is
I'm gonna do something I rarely do on the show.

Speaker 2 (36:16):
I'm gonna be dead serious with you.

Speaker 20 (36:17):
Uh.

Speaker 9 (36:18):
As a as a.

Speaker 17 (36:18):
Relative newcomer to Texas and a lifetime Chicago fan, notre
name fan from northern Indiana, I've appreciated your enthusiasm and
passion for Houston sports to the point where you helped
me become a fan of Houston sports, not just by
living here, but by feeding off what you guys all
talk about, especially the way you bring it that way

(36:41):
every day. And I really do if you would, I
would love to still see uh if you have a
schedule when your boys play, I'd love to come watch
you guys play. If I get a free weekend not
watching the grands play Little League, I'd love to come
see you play. If you're in the general Houston market area, Yeah,
if you past your.

Speaker 4 (36:59):
Schedule on line or send me a d M.

Speaker 9 (37:01):
You know who I am.

Speaker 17 (37:02):
Send me a DM with your local schedule when when
you're playing in the market, because I would truly love
to come out and call you a douche Canoe one
more time.

Speaker 6 (37:09):
Uh, I love it if I can.

Speaker 9 (37:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 17 (37:13):
But uh, but Brian appreciate you and and good luck
with the rest of today you've earned all the all
the flowers and maybe a few rocks when you get
him later. But uh, thank you and and you've made.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
It guys, that made a great show.

Speaker 17 (37:27):
It'll still be a great show, but you've made it
great here the last how long you've been out three years?

Speaker 9 (37:33):
Four years?

Speaker 17 (37:33):
Yep, it's been It's been a fun three years. And
you are appreciated, man, So I understand that.

Speaker 6 (37:38):
Appreciate that. Bill, Thank you, Man. Have a good brother
as well. Thank you Bill.

Speaker 5 (37:41):
Great stuff by Bill.

Speaker 6 (37:42):
And before we get the seven o'clock I was take
Damien real quick, Damian.

Speaker 21 (37:45):
Good morning, Hey, good morning man, Good morning Sean, Hey, Brian.
I just called him in I couldn't uh let the
day go what I called him. I didn't called in
a while, but I just called and let you know
I had a text this question, but what the hell
that can wait for another time. Just call to get
you well wishes and until you wish you the best.
If you if you're approaching your new endeavor, anything like

(38:05):
what you do now, I have no doubt you're going
to knock it out in the park. So uh, I've
bet Sean agrees that they'll be They're gonna be lucky
to have you man, so uh, the best of luck
to you and your family man, And question for you,
Sean real quick before before I hang up, do you
do you get the do you get the hand picked
that the next person that come in? And I know

(38:25):
we've been spoiled and can get selfish, and I know
this opportunity to provide someone else with another uh, with
a chance to live out their dream. But I was
just wondering when you get the hand pick the next
candidate to sit there on side you? And best of
luck again.

Speaker 6 (38:39):
Brian, thank you appreciate it, Damon, thank you great, Damon.
I'll have a hand in it. Yeah, I'll have a
hand in it. It'll be a couple of us that
will they will make that decision. So yes, I'll have
a hand in it. But it won't just be solely
be me, and I wouldn't want it to be. You know,
sometimes you get.

Speaker 5 (38:55):
And the truth is, no matter what it is, the
show will be great because we we got great listeners
and we'll be prepared, we'll have fun and we'll do it.
But yeah, if I could say chemistry, chemistry, chemistry, I'm
just not gonna be able to you can't find the
same thing. It just can't, you know. And but it'll
be The show's gonna be great one way or the other.
But it's been spectacular, best I've ever had, So yeah,
I'll have a say in it, There's no question about that.

(39:16):
But it won't just be me, and I wouldn't want
it that way because sometimes you get like single minded. Well,
he's got to be exactly like this, and they're not
gonna be another Brian. They're just not so. But it
will will, it'll be a good choice and it'll be
something that we can go with. But this chemistry, if
you could all bottle it up in your jobs, any
of you out there, that's one of the biggest blessings
I have, the threesome here. The chemistry with Brian and

(39:38):
I and Tripoli is unparalleled in my thirty years of
doing this, and that's the honest to god truth. So
but I will have a hand in it, Damien, thank you.
It won't just be one hundred percent of my decision.
But I'm the one who's got to sit here for
four hours a day, so you damn well right that
it'll be somebody that I can work well with. Yeah,
So but it's not. And I mean that's sincerely Brian.
We joke a lot and have fun, right, and but

(40:00):
it is it just you can't you just there's certain
things you can you know, Rob Peter to pay Paul.
But I'm speaking strictly on the sports that I mean,
there's a lot of people love sports and do it
how you how you get it across to other people
is unique as well. But our chemistry. If I was
trying to search for just that, I I wouldn't mandle

(40:20):
to find it. Yeah I would. We wouldn't be It
would be if I held my breath, I'd pass out.
So I'm not gonna find that. But now it's unique
and I love that part about us.

Speaker 6 (40:29):
You know what, I think back to like the first
couple of months when we were kind of feeling our
way through this whole thing.

Speaker 5 (40:33):
It didn't take very long for us to Yeah, I
don't even think it took a couple of months. To me.
It was I felt I knew after about.

Speaker 6 (40:41):
Knew after the filling shows they didn't do.

Speaker 5 (40:44):
And that's why it works so well because it was
never force fed. It was just like turn on the
mic and let's go play, you know.

Speaker 22 (40:50):
What.

Speaker 5 (40:50):
We're prepared for it. But you can't prepare for chemistry.
You gotta do it or don't.

Speaker 6 (40:54):
You know what's funny is I think back to the
first filling show we did. It was around the holidays
a couple of years ago. Actually, oh yeah, when you
came into the building in the old building and we
did a filling show together and we started joking back
and forth, and I made it. I made a joke
about you playing football back in the day when they
had leather helmets, and we laughed our asses off. You
probably don't remember this. I remember we laughed our asses off.

(41:15):
Some of the feedback I got there were like, hey,
I want to ease up on joking with Sean's not
what Yeah, I didn't quite play in the leather helmet area,
but close rolling. Yeah, And that's that's when I knew,
Like I was like, dude, I can banter with this guy.

Speaker 5 (41:32):
Why would you be and and you can't plan that?

Speaker 4 (41:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (41:34):
So yeah, so the chemistry, Damien, great point. So I
will have a hand in it, there's no doubt. And
uh but but like I said, if I was searching
for you, that's you just can't do it. You know,
you can You can't replicate that part of it by
any stretch of the imagination.

Speaker 6 (41:49):
Yeah, and you know, if you shoot for the moon man,
at least you can hang on the stars. You know
what I mean. It's gonna say quick.

Speaker 5 (41:53):
I got to give your stat going away, you idiot.
We mentioned justin Verlin, huh, and John had asked to
question in the same realm. Here's your useless spaces baseball.
You know, I always have to give one a week
useless baseball stat A wealthy useless knowledge. Over the last
forty years, it seems like Bob Gibson gets mentioned a lot.
He does. He always does, but he's a dominant. First

(42:15):
of all, he's scary because he was so he was
so intimidating. Over the last forty years, no pitcher has
done any of the following in a season, any of
the following of the three categories not one three hundred
innings a sub one five e RA, twenty five complete games.
We had twenty six of them overall last year in

(42:37):
Major League Baseball. Bob Gibson did all three in nineteen
sixty eight in one season. Three hundred innings plus sub
one five e r A twenty five complete games.

Speaker 6 (42:47):
Can you like, think about that any different time when
you want to tell you some of them, you want
to take some of the guys he pitched against.

Speaker 5 (42:55):
That guy Mannel was pretty good, right, he was Okay?
The usual wasn't half bag?

Speaker 6 (42:58):
All right?

Speaker 5 (42:59):
Yeah? I mean I don't even know the exact years
they played nasty and that if you pitched inside to
him when he and Bob Gibson could hit, yeah, you
were gonna get hit the exactly. Just a little perspective
on just how good and tough somebody cats.

Speaker 6 (43:18):
For hundred innings is insane in itself. But to have one,
five and twenty five complete games.

Speaker 5 (43:22):
Nobody's done one of those in the last forty years.
He did all three in the same season.

Speaker 6 (43:28):
You will never see that again. Crazy about all the
training techniques. You won't see it again, man, No.

Speaker 5 (43:33):
Of course you won't.

Speaker 6 (43:34):
Won't see it again. Let's get at the seven o'clock
hour next on seven ninety.

I'm trying to keep it together for the next three hours,

Speaker 25 (45:56):

Speaker 5 (46:01):
Where's Brando when you need him? Brandon, I'll tell you
what he's doing. He's going to pick up a new
microw with I hope.

Speaker 22 (46:08):
Man.

Speaker 6 (46:08):
Maybe he's gonna get a new lamp. You know, he's
gonna get a new lamp. I appreciate it all. Obviously.
The first hour we've had quite a few people calling,
and then starting the seven o'clock hour, a couple of
guys that are getting in just uh, we'll say it
all show along and I just can't thank everyone enough
for the support and joined the ride with us. The laughs,
the uh, the stupidity of us, you know, and then
of course the x's and o's and all the sports

(46:29):
stuff that we uh uh put together for our listeners
are our supporters and everything, you know, especially Houston sports first,
but we also cover a little bit of the national stuff.
It's been a good coming up on three years here. Man,
it's been it's been. Uh, it's been awesome, it really has.
And it's gonna suck. But again, me leaving the station
was my decision and moving on to a different industry

(46:51):
and and gonna make some more money and you know,
for a life from uh where I'm at in my life,
it's what I need to do. Tough, tough decision, but
that's what I had to do.

Speaker 25 (47:00):
And and.

Speaker 6 (47:03):
You know, I'm not going away from the Houston media stuff.
I'll be still be doing my podcast with Apollo Media
and then come January, we're back and back again.

Speaker 8 (47:10):
Man.

Speaker 5 (47:11):
So I got I got a spot. I got a
spot for you elsewhere on a national focus. When there
you go, when you uh, when you were able to do.

Speaker 6 (47:18):
It, there there you go, man, It'll be waiting on you.
You know that seven seven nights and number to join Holly.

Speaker 26 (47:25):
Good morning, Good morning, Brian, Good morning, Sean good More
on Chippley.

Speaker 5 (47:29):
Good morning, Brian.

Speaker 26 (47:31):
Just wanted to wish you will call in. I haven't
been calling in very long, but uh, you guys respect
a woman's opinion on sports and I appreciate that, and
uh I appreciate you and Sean and uh.

Speaker 24 (47:43):
Just good luck.

Speaker 26 (47:43):
We're gonna miss you and uh I'm glad to hear
that you're gonna be still back from uh with Apollo
Dez and uh see you there.

Speaker 27 (47:50):
And uh, good luck.

Speaker 6 (47:52):
Thank you so much, Holly. Yeah, of course we uh
you know you've been You and a few others have
been one of our consistent female callers, and we appreciate
she had more than more than the dudes to be
honest with you. Yeah, thank you again, Holly.

Speaker 26 (48:08):
All right, thanks for bye bye.

Speaker 6 (48:10):
You know that's one thing I've never understood, especially today's
day and age, like you see on Twitter. I saw
it the other day like some dudes some exactly I
want to say, he's here in Houston, was like bitching
about a girl, making an astros take like, well, what
why are you upset?

Speaker 2 (48:26):
Bro?

Speaker 7 (48:27):
We are.

Speaker 5 (48:27):
We are so far beyond unless it's a stupid take.
But the guys have a lot of stupid takes too.

Speaker 6 (48:33):
You know how many stupid takes? I said, Have you
ever heard of astros twitter?

Speaker 4 (48:36):
Sean?

Speaker 5 (48:36):
Yes, yeah, I hear. I just Here's what I've never
understood is why gender Yeah, I don't know, dude has
anything to do with And I guarantee the guy who
made the comment, I don't even know who it is,
and I don't want to know. I guarantee the person
who made the comment has played no more baseball no

(48:58):
than the female who made the No. He probably didn't
play in high schol and I don't care if he did.
What if she played softball? And what if you need
one of them played anything? I've just is it? Is
it fashionable or is it fa I've never understood why
it's now if some girl goes on TV and tries

(49:20):
to tell me why Tom Brady's a good quarterback but
can't tell me what about I see you can go
up and draw it up or but the problem. The
thing is, I hear plenty of guys that don't know
what the hell they're talking. So to me, you put
on a code tigle on TV or nowadays they let
you wear a shirt down to her with a shirt
down to your belly button on television, and they've they've

(49:40):
they've also kind of devalued the idea of looking good
on television in the morning when you put a coat
and time on. That's neither here nor there. I'm not
the managing editor at ESPN or any of the other networks.
I've just never understood. I don't know is it macho
to say now, if you're going to tell me, hey,
when I drop back to pass in your female or
male and you haven't dropp back to past, you could

(50:01):
tell me what it looks like to you. But if
you've never dropped back to past, you can't tell me
what Tom Brady was thinking when you dropped back to past.
And quite frankly, I can't tell you what Brady was
thinking when you drop back past unless I talked to
him and he told me himself. I've just never understood
this macho approach of a woman shouldn't talk sports. Why.

Speaker 4 (50:21):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (50:23):
I know you have sit around with a woman who's
really knowledgeable, and we get them calling in here. I
just sit around at home with him or anywhere else.
I'm just telling you. And sometimes they bring a perspective
that you haven't even thought about. So I've just, honest
to god, I have never My mother and sister are
really smart sports people. Tan You're a smart sports person,

(50:45):
my daughter smart sports person. They may not be as
passionate about it, you know. I just have never understood
the the hang up.

Speaker 9 (50:55):
With.

Speaker 5 (50:56):
Here's what I think about the astros. Their eyes are
seeing the same crap you and I are seeing, or
the same good you and I are. I just don't
get it.

Speaker 9 (51:04):
Is it?

Speaker 5 (51:06):
It feels so lazy to say, man, I I how
does Holly know to talk about Virlin? I listened to
her talk and I got a Bonnie Joe, you know
what it's like? Yeah, damn good point.

Speaker 6 (51:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (51:20):
I just don't understand why they can't sit at the
table too. It makes no sense to me. Who's the
Who's the kicker? Was a Harrison Bucker what he said
this year? Yeah, but I don't think he meant it
as a that women don't know sports get in the kitchen.

Speaker 9 (51:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (51:37):
I think you know, guys, you guys joke destroyed because
he was just talking about family values of that the
old school part were right, Yeah, he changed that.

Speaker 6 (51:50):
Well you know what, I'll call it like it is
to me. It's like a very Bible thumping response. Well,
he also he.

Speaker 5 (51:56):
Also gave you it made it feel like woman, get
in the kitchen and make yeah sound you joke with
hey man? Can he give me a soundch and a
cigarette after sex? Right, it's and he couldn't be married
to his woman if he didn't respect her. I wouldn't
think regardless how you looked at it. However, it came
off as like, dude, don't say that. I think I

(52:16):
have an idea how he meant it, but I don't
even understand how. Like I said, the seat at the
table is a reserve for anybody who can talk it.
There's plenty of dudes out there on TV right now.
They're kind and I can tell you deep down that
are will make you throw up in your mouth on
television that don't have a cluel what they're talking about now,

(52:38):
or and they played it or just can't talk about it. Yeah,
or you're Ryan Clark and you just race bait every week. Well,
he's the best in the world right now. At well,
it could be five black guys talking about a black guy,
and he'd say, the black guy's not getting the love
he deserves because he's a black guy, right and everything

(52:59):
about him. He can turn a peanut butter sandwich into race.

Speaker 9 (53:04):
Now.

Speaker 5 (53:04):
I respect him. He's had a great career. I've never
had an issue with him. I have an issue with
some of the things he says. To tell me that
Shador Sanders is dropping because front office executives are people
basically that are dropping him because he's black is absolute trash. Take.
We got the best players in the world right now

(53:26):
at that position are black, and I understand in the past,
what are we waiting on? Lamar? You're supposed to play slot?
When Pollion said that it is absurd when he came
out of school, I'd like them. There's some that are
still ignorant. I'd like to think we're past that though.
But every single time, if you criticize the guy's throw
because he's black, that that's how he feels. If you

(53:48):
criticize the guy's throw that that he throws at eighteen
feet into the stands, you better have the same energy
for Josh Allen when he throws at eighteen feet and says, well,
most people do. That was an ass throw. But every
single thing he says when it comes to this, and
the undertone of his comments, give me the woman all day,
every day. And he's a smart guy and he was
the hell of a player and he's good on TV.

(54:10):
But there's an undertone of you know what. You know,
there's actually people that just don't think Shader Sanders is
going to be a great player, and it has zero
to do with his skin color. I think Shender Sanders
will be fine. I think he's a good player. I
don't think that the Brian Dabele of the Giants is saying,
you know what, Mike Kafke is as coordinator when they're
watching tape. You know, dude, we can't draft him. The

(54:30):
guy made a great throw, got hit in the chin
and hit a dig route. Can't draft him? You know why?
Black Well, let's take cam Ward. Oh yeah, he's black.
You know what I mean? This narrative and if that's
not for clicks, if he really believes that, then Ryan
Clark's an embarrassment when he talks about this, and yet
he's not. He's a smart guy, right, and he's good,

(54:50):
and he's good, he's smart, knowledgeable, good, player, but when
the undertone is yeah, no, not everybody feels like that, Ryan.
Matter of fact, most good people don't. It's those same
people who say a woman doesn't belong talking sports, and
that's quite frankly, a horse's asked. Take. I'm sure there's
some will feel that about a woman and about a
black quarterback. I'd like to think enough's enough. And the

(55:13):
fact that we listen to this trash when they talk
that part of it. I'm not saying the whole conversation,
the conversation. It just adds to the anger and all
you're doing is fuel and stuff. It's not true the
Giants or the Tennessee Titans or the Cleveland Rounds, if
they don't take a quarter of your door, Sanders, it
ain't gonna be because he's black. Because I do believe

(55:35):
Watson and Jameis Winston are black. I do believe if
cam Ward goes first, he's African American, he's black. I
just I mean, I have never once had a guy
drop back to pass and thought, Ryan's right. The guy
threw a pick right to the linebacker, and you know what, Yeah,
it's only because he's black that your energy changes. Could

(55:58):
Stafford through it to the same du Dude, I just this,
You know what, that kind of stuff will make you
quit the job, right, It's crazy, you know what I'm saying.
When you hear it all, it's just like because if
I was on the set with him, I would have
literally looked at him and said, you are out of
your ever loving mind to think that some team's not
drapped or they're trying to drop him with the race comment.

(56:19):
It's twenty twenty five, dude, nobody cares at least people
making smart decisions. Good people do not care the color
of a quarterback skin. They care if he can make
a play and win under pressure. To me, dump but
thank you.

Speaker 6 (56:32):
Let's get it the stake out next.

Speaker 4 (56:35):
Shotgun him with someone who's thrown from the shotgun. Football
is war hammet to hammet. Sean Salisbury, Brian, you want
to see what a real football looks like. This is
the Sean Salisbury Show on Sports Talk seven ninety.

Speaker 5 (56:58):
All right, Sean, what are you hearing out there?

Speaker 22 (57:00):
Now?

Speaker 28 (57:01):
This sALS Very's Takeouts, sALS bif Takeout on the Sean
Salisbury Show.

Speaker 6 (57:07):
All right, it's a quick segment here seven one, three,
seven nine. You were lo on the Sean Salisbury Show.
Let's get out to the phone line so we can
get back on time. Ben, Good morning, Good morning, gentlemen.

Speaker 12 (57:18):
Hey, Brian, I just wanted to say we're gonna miss you.

Speaker 29 (57:21):
I hope that in your new industry that you'll be
able to put that nice voice of yours to work.
I'll still, of course be tuning into the Apollo podcast
and be on the Diamond. This is kind of how
I found out about seven ninety even on my Dallasten
Middle growing up.

Speaker 9 (57:36):
But anyway, here's what I'm gonna do for you, Brian.

Speaker 29 (57:39):
I'm gonna call the mayor, I'm gonna plan the parade
and I'll see you there to shows.

Speaker 6 (57:43):
Thank you, Ben, appreciate the words.

Speaker 16 (57:45):
Man.

Speaker 6 (57:46):
Yeah, Sean, we still got a fourteen sixty three, man,
we still te sixty three.

Speaker 5 (57:50):
Well, if you're gonna plan the parade on FM fourteen
sixty three and full sure, uh huh, make sure you
plan it for four days because guess what, construction, Yeah, yeah, construction.
You'll you'll you won't get there the parade and you'll
have to take like the detours. It'll be trafficked and
the light won't change and you'll be there forever in
the fastest growing city in the country. But let's have
the parade there, yeah, and make it four days?

Speaker 4 (58:09):
Yeah, good, good, Yeah.

Speaker 9 (58:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (58:11):
I think I'm bitter at the construction business at all.

Speaker 4 (58:15):
What's up, baggie, Doug?

Speaker 30 (58:18):
Hey, Brian, you know I'm a miss you, brother, and
I know you always give me the business. But you
know what I gotta have before you go?

Speaker 6 (58:24):
What's that?

Speaker 21 (58:25):
I gotta have that ale?

Speaker 9 (58:26):
Baby?

Speaker 15 (58:27):
Hey?

Speaker 6 (58:31):
Hey, they played Texas today, Doug. What's going on down
baseball team?

Speaker 5 (58:34):
Man?

Speaker 30 (58:36):
Oh dude, I don't know what's going on with baseball,
but it's always a good day when you can end
the season for the SIPs.

Speaker 4 (58:41):
So so I always love the SIPs, love it the
SIPs absolutely.

Speaker 30 (58:48):
Actually i'll call them sippy cup now because they cry
so much, even now that they're in the SEC.

Speaker 6 (58:53):
But yeah, I mean, Ran, we've loved.

Speaker 2 (58:55):
You having you here.

Speaker 24 (58:56):
Man.

Speaker 30 (58:57):
I know you're you're you're from here, So it's just
cool that you got to come back home and talk
to us and and keep us company. H for so
many of us that are out there on the roads. Bro,
I really do respect you a lot, and I respect
a lot of your takes and I think you'll be
deeply missed by Houston. And just another thing on the

(59:17):
girl stuff, Sean, girls talking sports is much like Australian
and British accents. It takes a girl from a seven
to a nine and a heartbeat. And Holly is already ten,
so it don't matter with her. But as far as
any other girl that's talking, I mean Meana times, she's
a she's a sick, but she can talk her ass
off on sports.

Speaker 21 (59:38):
So in my book, she's at least.

Speaker 30 (59:40):
An eight or nine.

Speaker 5 (59:40):
So they won't back down from your ass either. They will.
They will, They will be in your grill and then
kick your ass. And fantasy football or sports so hell yeah.

Speaker 4 (59:52):
Little baseball.

Speaker 22 (59:55):
Ball.

Speaker 4 (59:56):
But that basement that Doug, shoot, shoot, maybe you.

Speaker 5 (01:00:07):
He said you could be you'd be a seven. You
could you could throw a tin on me if you will.
So if you could talk some sports is what goes that, Aggie,
Doug says.

Speaker 6 (01:00:16):
So does that work like for dudes too, Like if
I start having a British accent accident, like well I
go from like a four to a seven or what?

Speaker 4 (01:00:22):
Oh yeah, yeah you gonna go and break him south?

Speaker 6 (01:00:25):
Very show, No all.

Speaker 5 (01:00:28):
Right, Well, now you just made Aggie dug saw.

Speaker 6 (01:00:34):
Hey, let's let's extend the Steakout triple. He bring that
Steakout music back. I know we're gonna get back on
time here. Maurice Cheeks did something. What do you do
in the NBA? That's next.

Speaker 5 (01:00:43):
Hey, I'll tell you what Country Boys Roofing did and
does every day. Make sure you're safe and secure with
that roof, whether it's been beat up by storms, whether
it's old or a storm hit it and it happened,
or you're trying to get out in front of those
that they're inevitably gonna come. You know it's Houston and
you know what that means, So get out in front

(01:01:03):
of it. And Country Boys roofing. It is country with
a K and boys with a Z Country Boys Roofing

for them, and I know they're proud of it because
they've earned it. A proud business member of the Better
Business Bureau, a new member. Good on you, John and
your team that you sent me that picture of the

(01:01:26):
work you're doing, and I love it, and I know
I've sent friends to you and you continue to do it.
And when you were on here doing a commercial, John
came on here. We're talking about well, what matters just
being honest, when transparent and making sure that the people
know you do good work and you care about them.
And that's how that's business. It's locally owned and operated.
They'll help you navigate the insurance claims. We can talk
about all that. I'm sure there's a lot of good

(01:01:47):
ones out there is the extra touch, there is that
boutique feel, and I use that a lot with you.
Have you noticed a lot of the people that I
do work with are here locally owned and operated. But
they're small but do great, big work. Why because they
care man, and they put the time in. Not selfish.
They don't price gouge you, and neither will John Military

(01:02:08):

full roof. If you're not one of those you mentioned
my name, you get one thousand dollars off. So at
a time when you're stressed out and a storm hits
and you're like, oh, it's gonna cost me so much,
John's not doing that. Matter of fact, he's given you
the discount because he wants your repeat business. If it's necessary,
or just tell a friend it's country boys roofing. There's

(01:02:28):
no better because they have the personal touch that cares
and they'll go anywhere in Houston, big or small to
make sure you're taking care of countryboys. ROOFINGLLC dot com

Speaker 4 (01:02:42):
The Sewn Salsbury Show continues. All Right, Sean, what are
you hearing out there now?

Speaker 28 (01:02:54):
The Salsbury's takeout sells brief takeout on.

Speaker 6 (01:02:58):
The Sean Sells Show. All right, we're gonna extend the
steak out. Something cool in the NBA last night might
have been the best of the year. It might have
been the best story of the year in the NBA.
So back in April of twenty excuse me, April of
two thousand and three, Maurice Cheeks was the head coach
of the Portland Trailblazers.

Speaker 31 (01:03:18):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (01:03:19):
It was a home game.

Speaker 6 (01:03:21):
A thirteen year old girl named Natalie Gilbert stepped in
to sing the national anthem. She struggled forgot the words froze.
Maurice Cheeks stepped in to help Gilbert.

Speaker 5 (01:03:33):
Yeah, and I remember I remember it. That night had happened.
When they did it, Mo walked over. She was had
a beautiful voice, just a little girl was in her dress,
she was ready to go, cute as could be. And
she started to struggle to get through it. And Mo
Cheeks goes out there and puts his armor aunt her.
And Mo Cheeks just listened to it. Can't sing for
squad okay, and God bless him. But Mo Cheeks goes
puts his armor aunt her and they started together and

(01:03:56):
he sang with her and the words went in and
then you saw her beautiful voice kick in. But it
was tough times that at that point in time, it
wasn't even about the voice. It was about the compassion
and love the Cheeks showed, and the crowd got into it.

Speaker 4 (01:04:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:04:08):
Helping this young girl out. That can be a self
esteem crusher.

Speaker 6 (01:04:11):
Bro, Yeah man. And then so last night, Uh, Natalie
Gilbert returned to Portland to sing the national anthem once again.
Maurice Cheeks sat and watched as the assistant coach for
the New York Knicks. This is how it sounded, buck,
all the.

Speaker 32 (01:04:31):
We watched, who are so gallantly stream.

Speaker 16 (01:04:38):
And the rock?

Speaker 22 (01:04:44):
This is.

Speaker 20 (01:05:04):
Twenty two years later, She's back to sing the national
anthem and Mo chutes in the house.

Speaker 5 (01:05:10):
They had a chance to talk before the game.

Speaker 20 (01:05:12):
It really was one of the most beautiful moments where
she was struggling. Moe put his arm around her, helped
her get through it, and here took twenty two years later,
she knocked it out of the park with.

Speaker 4 (01:05:23):
Her national anthem and he.

Speaker 7 (01:05:24):
Was smiling the whole time, like at out there, all right.

Speaker 6 (01:05:28):
So the first part of that clip was you could
hear Murray's Cheeks singing with Natalie Grant. You could hear
the crowd getting into it in the background. She was
only thirteen years later, twenty two years later. Years old, Yeah,
thirteen years old. And then twenty two years later she
returns and kills it.

Speaker 18 (01:05:41):
Man.

Speaker 6 (01:05:41):
Awesome, just awesome, man.

Speaker 5 (01:05:44):
It was phenomenal. Mo Cheeks has always been class and
a lot of people would have sat back and said, well,
when she was thirteen and just tried to let her
fight through it, for him to go out and put comfort,
you know, give her comfort, put his arm around her
and sing with her, and she got through that and
it was fantastic. Who wouldn't at thirteen years old with

(01:06:06):
that And she had a phenomenal voice. It's just it's
easy to forget the damn words. Right, you're in front
of the crowd, probably your first time in front of
a crowd that big. And then all these years and
Mo Cheeks smiled like it was his own daughter. Last
night was awesome. Oh my gosh, all these years, I
think it's it was one of the great stories in
the NBA then and last night made it a great story.

(01:06:28):
And I'm sure she was proud and excited. And now
she's a grown up and a grown woman and her
voice is powerful. And Mo Cheeks was smiling. What a
great mon that you won't find anything better in the
NBA this year.

Speaker 9 (01:06:41):
No, I was, it was.

Speaker 5 (01:06:42):
It was incredible. And the thought that you know the
Portland trailbl I mean, where where he's it was that?
Where was that in Philly last night? Yeah? Where was
where was the game? But he's the Philly assistant No ok,
yeah that's right, Physy assistant coach in New York. But
for him to go back there and heard the show
back up and then to get to talk all these

(01:07:03):
years later, he did the smile. And you won't see
a better two time story in the NBA than this yeah,
and he didn't need to put his arm around her.
She basically put her arm around him last night with
the way she sang that song. What a what a
great moment. And Mo Cheeks for all that he did
as a player, great point guard for the Sixers, he
was a good coach. He's been a class human being

(01:07:24):
his whole life. And Mo Cheeks will never do anything
better on a basketball court than he did thirteen years
ago with that or twenty two years ago for that
thirteen year old. He'll never do anything better in his
basketball career. And he had a hell of a career.

Speaker 6 (01:07:40):
And thank god it didn't sound like this blanthem.

Speaker 9 (01:07:43):
All right, we all ready.

Speaker 25 (01:07:46):
Here we go.

Speaker 16 (01:07:58):
I can't see, can you see? I'll make a court now.

Speaker 4 (01:08:12):
Pull the land the free. Oh my god.

Speaker 5 (01:08:23):
Carl lewis so glad. He was a great track athlete,
one of the best we've ever had. The players were
the way that they put their jersey over their mouth
and out of their face. God bless Carl Lewis. Legend
here judge him on his track career. Down on a
facing national anthem, Carl Lewis needed an arm around him.

Speaker 6 (01:08:46):
Okay, is he still coaching the U of h I
think he is the track coach.

Speaker 5 (01:08:50):
I can tell you what he did that awfully well,
I mean what an athlete he was. Man, But I
I that is so bad.

Speaker 6 (01:08:58):
Let's see he's still yeah, he's he's still the head
coach over at the University of Houston, head coach track
and field. And honestly, Carl Lewis's were bad, but this
one might might top it.

Speaker 5 (01:09:13):
Oh, Kenny.

Speaker 11 (01:09:20):
By the.

Speaker 9 (01:09:27):
What's so why?

Speaker 5 (01:09:34):
At the twy.

Speaker 16 (01:09:36):
Lies less.

Speaker 5 (01:09:41):
Who's Restaurant and ride story?

Speaker 4 (01:09:47):
She proved the why is she trying to be sueduct.

Speaker 5 (01:09:53):
Trying to be the national anthem and trying to make
love at.

Speaker 9 (01:09:56):
The same time.

Speaker 5 (01:09:59):
Sweet please Joy. She did hit a few notes a
little bit. Okay, Now here's how it's supposed to sound.

(01:10:29):
I like what she goes, naiya ya. The players we're
laughing there too, but we're about to get one.

Speaker 6 (01:10:36):
Why is she so?

Speaker 5 (01:10:37):
You tell me when you got it, trip, because this
is how it's supposed to sound when you bring it.
Here you go. And I was in the house for this.

Speaker 9 (01:10:51):
Can you see.

Speaker 4 (01:11:05):
You were here for this one?

Speaker 5 (01:11:06):
I was in a light at the NBA All Star
Game in the fabulous form in the eighties. I was
sitting about twelve rows up near center court at this
at this game, and the crowd the players started swaying
back and forth right about now, You're like, you have
the chills.

Speaker 6 (01:11:22):
You had a little beat.

Speaker 5 (01:11:23):
Huh oh man, roll.

Speaker 16 (01:11:31):
Rid fine, ah, so.

Speaker 6 (01:11:41):
You can even get down with this, dude, and the
player everybody was like, okay, yeah, kind of shitting with it, yeah, dude.

Speaker 5 (01:11:56):
And then you see they like the energy in the background,
the dude, the players and you had the best of
the magic jump. They were all there and they were
in their sweating, They're in their own uniforms, like, okay,
this is the great Marvin Gaye.

Speaker 4 (01:12:13):
Oh yeah, Tom Ball.

Speaker 6 (01:12:16):
Rob just tweeted us and he said none of them
topped the drunk girl at the Man the All Star Game.
She checked herself in a rehab the next day. We're
not gonna room that with this right now, calling dude,
yeah wow, I don't know, man. Chris Dampleton's was still.

Speaker 22 (01:12:36):
A huh.

Speaker 6 (01:12:53):
People starting to clap yes, okay, And I.

Speaker 5 (01:12:55):
Have said there were three of my best college friends
were like okay, let's oh yeah, and You're like, there's
nothing near reverend about it. Because it's so soft spoken,
but the crowd that you couldn't contain yourself. This was
like sitting in the same church. You brother, let's go Mark,
this is pretty good man. Yeah, you gotta let this finish.

(01:13:25):
Damn dude, I'll never forget being an out of arena
that day.

Speaker 6 (01:13:31):
That's awesome.

Speaker 5 (01:13:31):
The crowd, it's it's built to a crescendo. You're like, okay,
Marvin's coming in soft and then you start to look
around and say, am I the only one field of this?
Like the players are swaying, everybody in the crowd starts
to clap. You're like, this is freaking epic, and I
got tickets.

Speaker 6 (01:13:45):
You're like kind of getting like kind of getting groovy.
But then you're like, wait a minute, hey, y, you
want to make sure the national anthem and you want
to make sure.

Speaker 5 (01:13:51):
You're not disrespecting. Then you look around you say, well, damn,
I'm gonna be the only one not doing it, but
I don't start. It was friggin epic. The players, It's
almost like they just wanted to have another concert instead
of playing a game. And then you got to see
him actually compete. After Marvin Gay played, it was nice
I'll never forget it. Great moments getting last night and

(01:14:14):
twenty some years ago, twenty two years ago, Mo Cheeks
was it did one of the great things you'll ever do. Awesome,
It was great, dude. That's when it's one that you
know how people say, oh, I was there. Yeah, you
know you're really seventeen to five oh five at the
fabulous form and yeah you can say what you And
I was there, Yeah, sitting in it watching it in

(01:14:34):
my college. We still talk about them. I don't even
know who ended up winning the game. We stayed for
the whole thing and had a blast. Stars studded on
the court side. But I got news for you. One
thing you do remember that and Marvin gay and then
within one in the next couple of years was shot
and killed by terrible man. It was terrible.

Speaker 6 (01:14:50):
Yeah, awful, gosh, dang it.

Speaker 9 (01:14:52):
You know what a.

Speaker 6 (01:14:55):
W in that segment.

Speaker 5 (01:14:56):
Oh by the way, but no, but he was because
you know, it was just I think it was. It
was tragic because it was well before his time. Yeah, legend.
You want to talk about soul Motown, Marvin Gaye was it. Yeah,
and that version in person was even better than you
just heard it. It was phenomenal.

Speaker 6 (01:15:11):
I bet let's get to break seven one three, seven
ninety next on Sportslock seven eighty.

Speaker 4 (01:15:17):
Let the celebration start war Sean Salisbury on Sports Talk
seven ninety.

Speaker 6 (01:15:24):
What's up, Brian?

Speaker 33 (01:15:26):
Hey, Brian, First of.

Speaker 9 (01:15:27):
All, good luck to you, man. We're gonna miss you
on the air.

Speaker 34 (01:15:32):
That nine to thirty segment hour is gonna is gonna
move by real quick.

Speaker 33 (01:15:36):
So I enjoy your last two hours on the on
the radio. We I've enjoyed listened to you.

Speaker 34 (01:15:43):
Back when you started doing the weekend spots and filling in.

Speaker 33 (01:15:47):
So that's the luck in the uh.

Speaker 9 (01:15:49):
In the real world, it's not that bad.

Speaker 34 (01:15:51):
It's gonna be a change, but for good luck, enjoy
driving in traffic in normal hours.

Speaker 9 (01:15:58):
That will suck.

Speaker 5 (01:16:00):
So just preparing you, well, well we'll be working from home,
so we're we won't have to deal with that.

Speaker 9 (01:16:04):
Oh there you go. Well you're good.

Speaker 5 (01:16:06):
Hey Brian, real quick, Brian, real quick. Before you ask
the sports question, is are you saying that we don't
have real jobs? And you know what, you are one
hundred percent correct, brother, This is fantasy world that you
are so correct about that.

Speaker 34 (01:16:20):
Do you do what trade places with you and a
heartbeat if I could.

Speaker 9 (01:16:23):
But you're doing amazing.

Speaker 5 (01:16:24):
Thank you, and guess what, I and I love you, brother,
and guess what, I ain't trading places with you because
I like this job and this show is going to
continue to kick ass, and but it won't be the
same without Brian. There you go, my man, and.

Speaker 9 (01:16:35):
I'll still listen.

Speaker 34 (01:16:38):
Hey, real quick, tried to see what y'all think. I
remember back in the day there was an outfielder, Jason Lane,
and I remember, and it comes down to Cam Smith
and how much the Ashhows have to weigh a matter
of at what.

Speaker 9 (01:16:52):
Point do you weigh the odds of.

Speaker 22 (01:16:56):
Just taking a chance with him.

Speaker 34 (01:16:58):
But I agree, if you're gonna bring him up, being
needs to beat playing every day and I'll be curious
to see he is starting in right field today in
the split squad game. But if you send him to
Triple A or I know they're talking about sending him
to Double A, I don't see at this point how
you can. Because if he goes down there and he
starts batting five seventy and just crushing pitching, and you
move him up to Triple A in a week, it's

(01:17:18):
gonna be like well, why didn't you start him there?
But then if Chas mccormer comes out and is batting
one sixty five and maybe only has one home run
in that first month, and Cam Smith is at Triple
A absolutely crushing it, you know, and I know players
don't immediately translate, and Jason Lane is one. Um I
remember at Triple A he would bat three forty three

(01:17:40):
point fifty and then when the Astros brought him up,
he hit two thirty and you know, he's best known
for his catching in the H five LCS to send
this to the World Series that year. But uh, I'm
just trying to figure out at what point Dana Brown
has to look at him and be like, can we
afford to leave this guy Triple A when he's our

(01:18:01):
best prospect and that's what you want up But he's
probably better than some.

Speaker 9 (01:18:04):
Of the guys you have.

Speaker 34 (01:18:06):
And I get that he's still young and raw and
you need to hardness that, But I'm just curious as
to what what y'all think that that. Uh the fine
line is a man, you know, we can't leave him
down there too much longer. And Brian, before you go,
we need one more Todd kallous reference. It's gonna crack
me up not hearing that every morning, but uh uh

(01:18:27):
you know, I'm sure, I'm sure in the oil and gas.

Speaker 33 (01:18:29):
World they'll still love it.

Speaker 6 (01:18:30):
Hey, Brian, appreciate it, man, And again, thank you for
bringing up those the weekend stuff.

Speaker 11 (01:18:34):
Man.

Speaker 6 (01:18:35):
That's uh means a lot to me.

Speaker 9 (01:18:37):
Man.

Speaker 6 (01:18:37):
That was that was years ago, crazy, seven years ago
when I started, uh that Sunday show. Yeah, man, doing
some feeling stuff. I was busting my asses to try
to get into the door man.

Speaker 5 (01:18:46):
Yeah, just to try to get answered his baseball coach
first with Jason Lane Trojan. Yeah, what a reference, jasone
Al do you want to know when the time is
to know? Brian? It's now, it's now. I always got
a place to send him a soft landing. I think
he's tough enough that it appears to me why he
doesn't need a soft land He will be fine. And

(01:19:09):
then the risk it, what if he goes down to
double A and struggles and we don't want questions there.
If he's got to struggle, let him struggle here, let
him work through it, put him on the roster and
let him go. You'll still get that year if he
plays the whole right, if he's on the roster for
a certain amount of games. It's not just if he's
not on the roster of the first fifteen games. There's
a way that you get to keep that extra year
if he stays on it. Play him here, let him go.

(01:19:31):
He's raking. He's obviously gon hit big league stuff.

Speaker 21 (01:19:33):
Now.

Speaker 5 (01:19:33):
I know it's spring training, but that's the only body
of work he got when it comes to this, he's
a top prospect. There's no guide or it's like having
a kid. You don't know the first kid you have, like, how.

Speaker 9 (01:19:45):
Do I do this?

Speaker 5 (01:19:46):
There's no guidebook. The guidebook here is can he hit?
Is he athletic? Go to have to play more positions?
Can you start him? And is he tough enough mentally
to handle failures and tough enough mentally to handle success?
The times now for me, especially on a team that
needs him, that needs a guy like him, I'm all
for now and I and listen, I'm not worried about

(01:20:08):
fragile personalities, not saying he has one, but people, what
if he loses comment Oh well, then he better get
it back fast if he wants to last long time
in the league.

Speaker 4 (01:20:16):
To me, it's now.

Speaker 5 (01:20:17):
If he has proven and if you're just judging spring
training and how people are talking about him in his performance,
it's a no brainer.

Speaker 6 (01:20:25):
Yeah, it is a no brainer. Yeah Yeah, it's uh it.
It's like the old saying goes man, Oh, here we
frigging go. She's got to show up and show out.

Speaker 5 (01:20:37):
Here we go.

Speaker 6 (01:20:38):
Jas Smith making the opening day roster. He reminds me
of Jason Lane. You know where he played Blumber.

Speaker 5 (01:20:43):

Speaker 6 (01:20:44):

They've all won majors. This is the hole they will

Speaker 6 (01:24:14):
They called the island Green and TPT. Sawgrass has done
a great job, you know, keeping up the greens. And
Colin Morrikower is gonna step up. He's gonna hit a
seven iron. Not sure why it's a seven iron. It's
only one hundred and fifty yards away. Little wind in
his face there, TK, So he's actually it's gonna have
to go a little longer. Colin Mori Kawa, he stripes it.
Oh my goodness, it's gonna be two feet from the hole.

(01:24:36):
Brooks Kepka got brooks Kepka has his work cutout for him.

Speaker 9 (01:24:40):
Blumber.

Speaker 5 (01:24:41):
What does his caddie call him? Uh?

Speaker 6 (01:24:43):
He calls them Brooksy brooks Kepka. He's gonna hit a
pitching wedge because he's a big strong man. Blummer. Oh man,
that's a good one. It's gonna be three feet from
the hole.

Speaker 4 (01:24:59):
My goodness.

Speaker 5 (01:25:00):
Scotty Scheffler, You, sir, have your work cut out for you.
He's one of two times in a row t K.
He's going for the trifecta. He wins straight. Let's see
what Scott Scheffler. It's Caddy calls him Scott. Sometimes other
people call him Cheffy.

Speaker 6 (01:25:22):
I can't, dude, you said his friends like to call
him Brooksy. Yeah, dude, Scotty Scheffler. He's gonna also hit
a pitching wedge even though the wins coming into him.
I'm not sure what that says about Calin more kowed
is he may he might need to get into the
weight room. Blummer, Scotty Scheffler hits it clean, takes the bounce,

(01:25:44):
It's gonna have a little back spin. Five feet out. Wow,
what it sets everyone set up for? Birdie?

Speaker 5 (01:25:49):
Hey, can you imagine t K being five feet out
and you're and you're still and you're hitting first.

Speaker 6 (01:25:53):
That's why they call it golf.

Speaker 5 (01:25:55):
Blummer the Great the Great Player Championship TPC Island Green.

Speaker 6 (01:26:03):
Oh gosh, tears, Oh my goodness, that's great man. SU's
friends call it Brooks and some people call him Scott.

Speaker 5 (01:26:12):
How about more cows though yesterday, how about more cows?
Cat is caddy is awesome, dude, dude, you're talking about
a swing.

Speaker 9 (01:26:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:26:18):
A lot of those caddies who carry bags, dude, they
are great golfers, scratch golfer and some of them are former.

Speaker 5 (01:26:23):
PGA Tour players. They had their card, his caddy hits
one beyond the flags that can spins it all the
way back to like twenty feet and it rolls into
the hole for a case on the on the practice
role with that fold fell to the ground. You could
hear all the guys, what the yeah, yeah dude, and
they were going, no, it was awesome. Now only fitting

(01:26:44):
if more cow goes and wins the day an thing
right after his caddy made a hold in one. Those
guys and when those guys make a hole in one there,
it's like I saw Shane Lowry do it a while
back and Dudy the celebration, it's like they're they just
got their best Christmas gift, just like it. I mean,
you see that from somebody who it's at first you're like, yeah,
this is this is the greatest thing. I've ever seen. Right, Yeah,

(01:27:05):
it's all oh dude, it's it's so the enthusiasm and
it's like, let it rip, man, crowd's going crazy. Yeah.

Speaker 15 (01:27:11):
Do you know?

Speaker 5 (01:27:12):
It was either Ben Hogan or or Ben Hogan or
Sam Seed. I can't remember which one. Do you realize
he made like forty or fifty aces or something in
his career? He made a hole in one with every club.
But it's putter what I'm dead serious, Souposley's made a
hole in one with every club. But it's fine, and
it wasn't Faulk And I don't know where you can

(01:27:32):
find it, but I'm looking at this. Nobody would put
that up. It's not like fake news of today. And
I'm thinking, I can't remember with Sam Steed or Hogan
is one of the two. Imagine that though I have
made a hole in one flirted, but I've never made
one or even where it's lipped in or lipped out.
A one time in a tournament to win a car,
I hit one like four feet by and it was
even with the hole. He looked like it's going in

(01:27:52):
and it sat there. And know this sucks. I had
a buddy make a hole in one on and one
a car really. Oh yeah, I wasn't in the group,
but it'd he made it, knocked it in the hold.

Speaker 6 (01:28:00):
I got a charity tournament.

Speaker 5 (01:28:01):
Yeah, that's awesome, phenomenal.

Speaker 6 (01:28:03):
Yeah, that's awesome. Must be nice man.

Speaker 5 (01:28:06):
Yeah, so somebody's these golfers this tournament. Man, that seventeenth
hole gets them going. I love watching those that caddy.

well it, Saint Patrick's stays right around the corner in
a handful of days, that four leaf clover is gonna
settle my retirement. I would I would think that you
probably need tradtion wealth or it's March madness. I think
I'm gonna bet ae hundred million dollars on Houston and
then you may win it and then may fund your retirement.
But I don't think you want to take that risk
every day. I think you want to prepare for it.

(01:29:05):
And that's why you need somebody that's an expert in
their field, somebody who is trusted, somebody who's transparent, and
somebody who wants for your portfolio what you want. And
I would imagine over the course of time, with all
the work you've put in all these years, that you'd
like it to be peace of mind and some security. Well,
it's a good time to start. I don't care if
you're thirty and you're retiring at forty or seventy, and

(01:29:26):
I don't care if you're sixty retiring to seventy.

Speaker 4 (01:29:27):
Sooner the better.

Speaker 5 (01:29:28):
But if you started late, isn't it incumbent upon you
to understand four to one K expertise like Trajan wealth
or you know how to roll it over or insurances,
or are your risk tolerance? What's your risk tolerance going
to be? Can you take a few chances in retirement
so you don't have to come back and work, so
you don't have to come back and work, or do
you what's it going to take to make sure you

(01:29:50):
have enough money? And do you have enough money to
retire and stay retired? All those questions that are going
to be important to you in retirement. Trasian Wealth will
search for those answers and has them for you experts
in their field, and you need that when it comes
to this and that's your retirement. You've worked so hard.
Don't blow it by relying on a four leaf clover.

(01:30:11):
It is Saint Patrick's Dan and it's going to be
a blast to celebrate, but celebrate it by well. Talking

the fans. You know, I've been PM and you guys,
you know since just the first day y'all started three
years ago. People don't understand that, but you know, you

redoing his contract, so the rays that Brian wanted wasn't
going to go through.

Speaker 22 (01:33:05):
He said, I'm sorry.

Speaker 9 (01:33:06):

Speaker 24 (01:33:07):
And he said, you know, he's never been a team player.

Speaker 22 (01:33:10):
He thought it was like a usc thing, he said.
He said, he thought it was a USC thing in.

Speaker 20 (01:33:18):

Speaker 24 (01:33:18):

Speaker 6 (02:06:03):
Yeah, it was a dude that said that about my calves.

Speaker 5 (02:06:06):
He's only human, Brian, like a guy who was a
coworker at the previous Baseball SOLDI I worked at. He's
only human and maybe your calves got him all bricked up. Yeah,
he might be. He might be, just he might just be.
It might just be a friendly gesture, Brian. Everything's not
an agenda, Sean.

Speaker 6 (02:06:22):
I'm not out here complimenting your calves.

Speaker 5 (02:06:24):
Everything.

Speaker 6 (02:06:25):
I'm not out here company. You don't have a compliment
of about calves. Compliment everything else too. Again, Hey Sean, Hey,
after we take this picture, man, you mind? Yeah, you
mind flex and format? I want to get a picture,
I usually say again, yeah, fine, he's getting tired. My

(02:06:49):
my wife, you know, she likes I told you, don't.

Speaker 5 (02:06:54):
Joke around about that, dude. I told you that story.

Speaker 6 (02:06:56):
It's super weird. It's weird.

Speaker 5 (02:06:58):
Dude said, man, if you'll take picture and sign this,
you can spend the night with my wife. And she's
standing out the extra. And it was when I was
doing television ESPN and Dan and I DP and I
were together and I said, dude, and he was dead serious,
and he said and I looked at her, and I
felt bad for I said, you know what, because he was,

(02:07:18):
you know, getting He said, dude, man, I love you
on TV. I man, you can have my wife to
I'm like, no, it's attractive gal too, you know, and
do something. And I looked at her and said, don't
pay any attention to what you're saying. That's much respect
to you. I'm sorry. And they went away. But I thought,
if this dude's doing this, this poor lady. Yeah, because

(02:07:40):
she was like embarrassed and probably wanted to anyway. No,
I kidding so, but the embarrassed And I thought, who
does that? If you ever respect like that, disrespect in public,
what's it like in private?

Speaker 6 (02:07:54):
I caught on to Like, So I knew coming into this,
I'm going back to July August, probably like August, I
think it was twenty crazy, So July August to twenty
twenty two, when the second month, Ryan Money had become
our producer, and there was a guy that called And
I knew coming into this, like I knew that you
had been in the business for a while. I knew

(02:08:14):
your NFL career. I knew you had a very popular
name in the industry, I knew that I was getting
into that, right. I didn't realize your fandom with men
until there was a guy that called in and he's
never called again. He called in, and you probably have
to remember this, me, Ryan Gary Martin. He called you
about some Chicago bear helmets and he asked you to

(02:08:36):
get him autographs, not your autograph, somebody else's couple receivers. Yes,
And I forgot who it was.

Speaker 5 (02:08:43):
I wanted me to go, and I said, yeah, let
me get let me get right, let.

Speaker 4 (02:08:46):
Me get right.

Speaker 5 (02:08:46):
He's like no, and he was dead seers. He's like, well,
if I send him to you, like, will you get
it done? I'll go track him down all over the
country and just like sign what yeah? Now did I've
got a million stories and I never signed you back
for I've been a million stories of you know, sometimes
you know, you get guys, a million stories of of
guys that it's like, this is a And I think,

(02:09:07):
if this happened to me, I can't imagine what's happened
to a star, you know, with with with those guys
got because I'm not a star. I'm not even a
household name in mine home. But the time when you're
on TV every day, right when you're on TV every day,
people just look at you different, even though I never did.
But this dude legit any and he and he pushed
the envelope and I looked at his wife and I said, listen,
you're you're great and it's no disrespect, but I would

(02:09:29):
never do that. I'm sorry you have to go through that.
And it was loud and in there and stuff, but
it was like, this is really really weird. Nod and
I actually I felt bad for and I thought, she's
she I wanted. And you know what, she was a
lot better looking for her than she than than he
was for her, I mean for him than he was
for her. He was put it this way. He was
over his skis and drunk, and I thought, man, alive,

(02:09:51):
I understand you love TV in sports, but not not
not this much.

Speaker 3 (02:09:56):
It was.

Speaker 5 (02:09:56):
It was weird and I felt bad for her. But
those stories and now I think, Daniel do that by
a thousand and think with some of these real stars
on TV go through or it's like you wouldn't want
They don't want that life, no, hell no, And if
you did, you can't keep up with that life. I
just it's crazy.

Speaker 6 (02:10:14):
If you're married, why are you looking at another man
and being like, dude, sign my sign my check.

Speaker 4 (02:10:19):
And take it.

Speaker 5 (02:10:20):
Yes. And that was basically and I left that part
out and that's like no, no, no, no, I'll sign it.
But guess what, you can take your wife home okay
with you? That's why you're married, right?

Speaker 21 (02:10:30):
No?

Speaker 6 (02:10:30):
Thanks, that's weird, man.

Speaker 5 (02:10:31):
It was very odd. Seven one, three, five, seven nine.
He got the phone lines. Uh, like you said, Sean,
you could take me home now? Maybe I had to
consider it. You know what, actually know what your wife

get hold of me any way you can. You know,
Sean's got my number. Uh Man, don't.

Speaker 2 (02:21:21):
Hesitate to reach out because that's that's the way we
do it out here.

Speaker 9 (02:21:25):
Man.

Speaker 39 (02:21:25):
And I don't care what time in the morning it is,
but I ain't bailing your ass out of jail.

Speaker 6 (02:21:30):
Preciates.

Speaker 5 (02:21:31):
John's been fun and I'm not gonna let him go
to jail. So yeah, there you go, all right.

Speaker 33 (02:21:36):
Man, Brian, be safe to him. Man, y'all, we'll talk
to you later.

Speaker 5 (02:21:40):
You got that, John, appreciate you.

Speaker 6 (02:21:41):
You know that got another first time caller, first time caller, Scott,
what's happening?

Speaker 9 (02:21:46):
How you doing?

Speaker 6 (02:21:47):
Fellas?

Speaker 5 (02:21:48):
I'm sixty one years old.

Speaker 40 (02:21:50):
I grew up in Philadelphia, been a Sean Salisbury fan
my whole life. And I gotta tell you I used
to listen to another sports station. I have an hour
drive from Conroe down to Sci Fi every day. I'm
a superintendent, we build schools. But when the first time
I heard you two together, I quit listening to that

(02:22:10):
other station, and it brought me back to the memories
of Sean grinding it out on the football field every day.

Speaker 6 (02:22:17):
With the Minnesota Vikings.

Speaker 40 (02:22:18):
I love that guy, and one day I'm going to
walk up there to that station and I'm going to
meet him.

Speaker 5 (02:22:23):
But Brian, I want to wish you the best of
luck in your new journey.

Speaker 6 (02:22:27):
It breaks my heart.

Speaker 40 (02:22:28):
And this morning when you went on air and there
was probably thirty forty five seconds went by when you
couldn't speak, well, I was shedding some tears myself. You
have been such a light in this show. You two
together are incredible, and Triple E is amazing. But I
got to tell you something, It'll never be the same.

(02:22:50):
But as long as Sean and TRIPLEI are running this thing.
It's still gonna be great, but I wish you the best.
And what an addition you were to that show. And
you brought me joy every single morning between the music
that you guys would introduce, between commercials, the D's nuts
and everything else, and all the knowledge and the love

(02:23:11):
for sports. I'm telling you, this is the best thing
going in Houston. I will miss you and I wish
you the best moving forward. And Sean, get ready, buddy,
I'm gonna come up there and meet you one day.

Speaker 5 (02:23:21):
You are welcome.

Speaker 40 (02:23:22):
Schneider signing out. Brian, God bless you, and I know
you're gonna kill it. Thank you so much to say,
thank you. What a great compliment. Man, You're always welcome here.
Well awesome, right You've had a big light here, brother.

Speaker 5 (02:23:34):
Yeah, a big one.

Speaker 6 (02:23:38):
Take one more forget to break. Judy good morning, Hey,
Hi Brian, Good morning Judy.

Speaker 4 (02:23:46):
Yes you are on air. Good morning.

Speaker 26 (02:23:49):
Oh my goodness. I cannot add anything to all that
has been said. This is Judy from Katie. I called
him one day one day last year and was just
crack it up because you guys, you just don't You
do so much for everyone in the mornings, and I
heard her caller say yesterday she had to pull over
because she was in tears. I have been there where

(02:24:13):
she's been. I mean, it's just like, oh my god,
these people are crazy, but it's a good crazy. And
we do wish you well, Brian. I know it's a
lot for you to have to deal with today, but
it's just a blessing to be loved so much. And
you and Sean and Triple A. You guys don't know
really what we're trying to tell you, and we can't

(02:24:34):
express it enough. Yesterday it was a pleasure to hear
Triple A's parents on the air. It's like they're so
sweet and he's just like, my goodness, Cynthia said so
many wonderful things about you, and I just have to
say I just can't add anything to anything that anyone
has already said, but just wish you well and it's

(02:24:55):
been a pleasure. And whoever does take that position, I
wish stim well as well, you know, because we want
this to still be a good uh time to listen
to Sean and Tripoli and whoever they have there. But
we really have just admired you and you are just
going to really be missed, and just good luck and

(02:25:18):
blessings to your next endeavor. I used to work for
Shell and Pennzoil, so I've come from oil and gas,
but I won't be going back. Miss Judy is on
her way to retirement. But wish you well Brian. But
you guys have been just great in the morning, and
you really, you guys are the only one out of
all of the ones that come on. I listen to
Mad and all the others, but this this time is

(02:25:41):
very special, and I mean it just gets by morning going.
I mean it really does. So good luck to you, Brian.

Speaker 6 (02:25:48):
Okay, all right, Judy, thank you so much for the
kind words.

Speaker 5 (02:25:51):
Thank you. She's right, does this last segment. I know
it's all you all the time, brother, and this show
will continue to be great. We'll make it that way,
and Brian would only want it that way. Yeah, but
it will never be the same greatness the level of
and of the like I said, of the just the
chemistry is to do. And I've been into thirty years
and nobody has brought more joy to me in the

(02:26:13):
opposite seat, nationally or locally. And I've got some I've
worked with some prig and awesome ones. It's the most
fun I've ever had. And I think the knowledge and
the passion of rate I always know the sports is
going to be good what takes it to a next level.
And Judy, I'm so glad that she echoed that, and
all our great listeners and callers that throwing you love
and rightfully so. Thirty years in this business, I'm not

(02:26:34):
going anywhere, and the show will be great, but I
will tell you, and I mean this is is as
sure as I'm sitting here that I've never had more fun,
I've never been more revitalized. And this is the best.
This is the this is why I do it, and
I have found it this time thirty years, the very
very best co host and work partner I've ever had,

(02:26:56):
and I'm not sure it's close and I can listen.
I got some hall of fame. Where has that been around?
Just the chemistry will never be reduplicated. The show will
be great, I promise you that I'm to make sure
of that. But the duplication of the chemistry, which matters
more to me than any rating, any dollar or cent,
it will never be douing. I had more fun doing
this getting up at three thirty in the morning and

(02:27:16):
I'm gonna keep getting up a three thirty morning. And
why is because of what we got together. Man, it's
gonna suck not having you.

Speaker 6 (02:27:24):
Let's get your break last last time Fellas triple A.

Speaker 5 (02:27:29):
Yeah, Hey, you know what you want to get one
last you give you know what I'm going to keep
doing it.

Speaker 9 (02:27:34):
You get.

Speaker 3 (02:27:35):
This is for you.

Speaker 5 (02:27:36):

Speaker 10 (02:28:43):
That's good.

Speaker 5 (02:28:50):
Oh, you know we had to do it.

Speaker 9 (02:28:53):
Get these phones.

Speaker 41 (02:28:54):

Appreciate it though. I don't know who Mariah is, but
it's probably Mariah high on these nuts or something. I
don't know set it up, man, because I don't even
know Mariah. Tony, what's happening.

Speaker 5 (02:31:53):
None of these guys are getting us down to stretch here,

Yes we know Kim.

Speaker 42 (02:32:40):
Come on now, Okay, I just wanted to say thanks
for how you encouraged him along the way. I know
sometimes he's slow and and uh struggles on what to
say next, but you you give him a hard time,
which he needs. I listen all the time, and not
because of him. I'm probably encouraged him. Uh really enjoyed

(02:33:03):
listening to you. I'm in oil and gas, so maybe
I'll see you around.

Speaker 19 (02:33:06):
But I have laughed.

Speaker 33 (02:33:11):
Love it when I hear that.

Speaker 12 (02:33:12):
You don't know some name like Smokey Robinson.

Speaker 42 (02:33:18):
But I really appreciate all that you all have done
to encourage Brandon to call in and actually take his calls.

Speaker 12 (02:33:26):
Sometimes I think you hung up on.

Speaker 6 (02:33:29):

Brother, I get yeah, Brian, I just want to, you know,
wish you luck on your future endeavors, say how much
you know I've enjoyed engaging with you and listening to
the show, especially about the Astros. You know, keep listening
despite your irrational and illogical hatred of the Beatles, but
you know I persisted despite that, and yeah, you're really
going to be missed. I also just want to say

(02:34:01):
how much I respect you for, you know, what you
do as a coach, because gosh, my kid's just six
year old playing baseball.

Speaker 12 (02:34:07):
And I can't imagine. I just don't have the patience
for it. So so a lot of respect to you
for that, and I hope you keep on keep on
working with those kids.

Speaker 6 (02:34:15):
Thank you so much. You know, let's go to Cowboy Daryl,
Cowboy Darrel, what's happening hey Man?

Speaker 5 (02:34:20):
Being a resident cowboy Man, I was gonna give your pouch.

Speaker 9 (02:34:23):
Man.

Speaker 43 (02:34:23):
You gave me a lot of You gave me a
lot of leeway man over the time, over the years
I've been calling man, you could have really stump the
gas down and ran over me like road killed, and
you didn't do it. You know, at times, my cow
gave you a lot of people, man, but you get
a lot of peace.

Speaker 9 (02:34:39):
Man.

Speaker 33 (02:34:39):
I appreciate it, you know.

Speaker 2 (02:34:41):
Anyway, good to you.

Speaker 43 (02:34:42):

Speaker 9 (02:35:04):
We're just gonna remember how good deal it was out man.

Speaker 6 (02:35:07):
Thanks Roger, and let's talk to Gil.

Speaker 9 (02:35:10):

Speaker 4 (02:35:10):
You're the last calling.

Speaker 9 (02:35:11):
Baby.

Speaker 4 (02:35:11):
Let's go.

Speaker 5 (02:35:12):
What's going on, right, what's happening?

Speaker 37 (02:35:15):
All right, buddy, I hate to see you go. Enjoy
the good talks. And even before I knew you, dog
one name, I remember talking to you. But if you
ever decided to come back, we will welcome you with
open arms here and you sit.

Speaker 6 (02:35:27):
Buddy, Thank you so much already. Yeah, pleasure, man.

Speaker 5 (02:35:30):
And let me say one thing before you say you're goodbye. Yeah,
we'll see I'll see you. I'm taking you Nick Swartz
tomorrow night. We're gonna go laugh at the concert comedy.
I can tell you this. Uh, we'll see on the
national side about six months, seven eight months whenever that is, yeah,
eight months, nine months and uh, you know we'll see
each other all the time. You've been enjoy a pleasure.
Thanks for revitalizing my career and giving me energy. I

(02:35:53):
love you. There'll never be anybody that replaces you, man,
So thank you, so nothing better than you for me.

Speaker 6 (02:35:58):
Let me let me start with triple and I'll get
to Sean real quick. Tripley. Thank you so much for
your attitude, your optimism, the joy that you bring to
our show every single day. Sean and I talk about
it all the time. Deciding to have you come on
with us was the best decision because you are You

(02:36:20):
are a massive part of the show. You do everything
behind the scenes and more, and your attitude every single
day is what we needed. You're never in a bad mood.
I don't know how. You always check your feelings.

Speaker 4 (02:36:31):
At the door.

Speaker 6 (02:36:32):
You have a very very very bright future and I
don't I I just cannot thank you enough for everything
that you have provided, not just on the show, but
the laughs in our group text, The friendship that we've developed.
You are a phenomenal human being tripley. So I cannot
thank you enough. Emmanuel, thank you, and then Deshaun, thank you.

(02:36:52):
Try not to lose it here. I busted my ass
to get to get into sports radio, especially coming out
of college. I tried.

Speaker 5 (02:37:00):
I applied to one hundred and fifty radio and TV stations.

Speaker 6 (02:37:02):
I got one callback from San Antonio. I found myself
an oil and Gas but I continued to grind, just
doing part time broadcasting for high school sports. I was
able to get here in twenty eighteen as a part time,
part time digital person. I was a sports reporter essentially.
When you got hired here, you're one of the first
people to introduce yourself to me. And you said, and
I probably don't remember this, I remember you said, I

(02:37:24):
understand you're a part time employee and you're wanting to
get in any reps. If there is anything I can
do for you, you let me know anything you need.
That was in twenty eighteen. Fast forward to twenty twenty one.
Late twenty twenty one, you and I did a fill
in show together. We hate, we laughed, we had fun.
We did another one in early twenty twenty two. We
did a third one the day after my father died

(02:37:44):
on March twenty first, and you told me that if
it was me, I don't know if I would have
come in, But that just shows me the type of
person you are and how much you take, how much
you value this and we made it happen.

Speaker 4 (02:37:58):
Thank you to you.

Speaker 6 (02:38:00):
You the person that gave me that opportunity. Obviously with
our bosses over here, Brian Eddie, Mark Sherman, Chris Cordy
obviously giving me the okay, but it was you had
a big say. I cannot thank you enough for giving
me the opportunity to be a part of your show,
to trusting in me to handle myself, to drive this show,
and to set you up for success. But it's not
just about the professional side of things. It's the family

(02:38:20):
side of things. It is the personal side of things.
People don't know this, and I know we're running over
I don't give a damn. I struggled the first month
here because I was not making a lot of money.
You bought me grocery groceries several times, and you said
any time you ever need anything, you let me know,
do not hesitate. I tried to pay you back after
our first bonus. I literally came in here with two
hundred bucks cash and you said, he said, put that away.

(02:38:42):
That's the type of person that Sean Salisbury is. You
bought me groceries and a time when I needed it
the most. Every time we have gone out somewhere, you
have never let me paid, even though I've offered a
thousand times. I brought you one bottle of a troll
because that's the only thing you ever let me buy
to your house. You've opened up your home to me,
your dogs to me, your friends to me. You are
much more than just my coworker. You are my family
and I cannot thank you enough for everything that you
have done for me. I love you, and I know

(02:39:04):
this is not the last time we were going to
be doing something media, TV, broadcasting, you know together. I
just cannot thank you enough, not just for this stuff
here in the radio, but just on the personal side
of things. You are a mentor to me. You have
almost been like a father to me, and I seriously
cannot thank you enough.

Speaker 5 (02:39:22):
I love you, brother. We'll continue this, but thank you.
That's very very kind to you to say it's your moment,
and I appreciate you, and it means a lot to
me to hear you say that. But thank you for
Like I said, dude, it would have been easy for
me to walk CAUs I'd not getting up with this time.
It's because of you, so thank you. I love you man.

Speaker 6 (02:39:38):
Both of you guys have made this so fun for me.
I know that I'm moving on and going to oil
and Gas is something I had to do for my life.
To all the listeners, to all the callers, to all
the people that tweeted me, texted me, sent me messages
that continues to support me in this radio TV Medius
landscape in the city of Houston, thank you and to
everybody else on our lineup. Matt Thomas, Ross Very, Adam Wexler,

(02:40:01):
Adam Clanton, Dan Matthews, Connor McGovern, Ryan Money who was
with us, thank you. You guys have been phenomenal and
I'm gonna miss it. I'm gonna miss you guys, I
really am, But thank you. It's been a fantastic. Matt
