Toby and Chilly Mornings on demand onninety seven point one Wash Up Out.
You've got to feel good before fiveam, especially on a federal holiday,
that is, assuming you're up listeningto ninety seven point one wash Chef m
We're Toby and Chilly in the morning. This morning, feeling good because I
finally put together some plans on afew things for midsummer slash late summer getaways

(00:21):
for my significant other in myself. My daughter's going out of town for a
little bit, so we're going tomaximize our time. Very nice. Yes,
let's just say there's a whole worldof RV's that you can rent that
aren't necessarily from those Cruise America places, but not knocking them because they're on
the list too. So that's stepone. I think I want to,

(00:42):
like, you know, just kindof like test the water of the van
life thing, see what it's liketo take in RV someplace, even if
it's just to that what's it calledthe Assetique or whatever that by the beach,
Yeah, and just kind of hangout there. How are you doing
this morning? You're feeling all right? Yeah? I mean, like you
mentioned it as a federal holiday,Emancipation Day, Juneteenth, commemorating the end

(01:03):
of slavery. So as I wasdriving in this morning, I noticed the
construction workers weren't out, which meantthat it was a smoother ride in hopefully
means a smoother ride home, lesstraffic. From your lips to God's ears.
I mean, well, considering thefederal workforce would be the largest single
contingent of employees, and they're alloff today, along with the banks,

(01:25):
along with the postal service, alongwith anything with a government related sort of
a thing going on, including ouroffice. That's not us. Well,
that's right. That means no meetingtoday for us because no one else is
here today farm by me, noneof the management is here. Oh these
reasons to be fine by me workingon a federal holiday. Audios people,

(01:47):
audios love it, Toby and Chillyin the morning. Perhaps maybe you're thinking
about vacation. A lot of peopleI know are actually on vacation this week
because of the federal holiday in themiddle of the week and whatnot. Yeah,
then of course people are going forFourth of July week. And from
Woodbridge heard us talking about a vacationprep yesterday. She wants to jump in
with a few thoughts to share withthe class. We'll talk to her in

(02:08):
a few minutes. Welcome to anew day, Toby and Chilly in the
Morning for this Wednesday, juneteenth,DC. Good morning. So yesterday we
learned that people have a ritual theygo through before they go on vacation,
from haircuts to hygiene to packing.Where Toby and Chilly in the morning,
it's ninety seven point one wash FM, and we were talking about this for
a lot of reasons. You aregoing on vacation next ye yeah, and

(02:30):
today, like I have my hairappointment to get my roots done, so
you'll be leaving it to eight fortyfive. There's no bosses around today.
Federal Holiday, ann and Woodbridge. You had a couple of thoughts you wanted
to throw in. Go ahead. Most of the time go on road trip,
so it's always best. I learnedthis from my dads when I was
a kid. We want road tripsin too. Always best to change your
oil in your car before you go. So how far in advance do you

(02:53):
do that car maintenance stuff before yourtrip a week before? At least that
way you don't have any issues ofthe car breaking down while you're on your
because if you're going on a roadtrip, obviously your car is your way
to get there and back. Sodo you want to make sure your car
is going to get you there andback nice and lubricated with a fresh changed
oil and new oil filter and such. That's that's very very telling in by

(03:16):
the way, you can get itdone very very quickly. You just pull
into these places these days. Well, so you should while you're at you
check the life of your battery, check the tread on your tires, and
then the other thing we used todo, but people don't have to do
this anymore. He would pull outthe old at list from the books back
in the eighties and nineties you didn'thave ways or Google map, and he

(03:38):
would look at the map and wewould look at all the different places that
you're going in the different routes onhow to get there. And thank you
for throwing that in from Woodbridge thismorning. Yeah, that is true.
Nobody uses an atlas or a mapanymore these days, thank goodness. And
I didn't think about the whole takecare of the car before you go on
a road trip sort of a thing. But I guess that does make sense.

(03:59):
Oh yeah, it's not just aboutthe fuel in the car. It's
all the other parts. Yeah,it's more than just the oil. It's
like the tire pressure, the tiretread. How are my wipers doing?
Because there's nothing worse than being ona road trip when your windshield wipers aren't
the best that they can be andyou don't want to call Triple A for
a dead battery in the middle ofnowhere. God love the rituals before a
vacation. If you have anything toadd, the talkback microphone is wide open.

(04:25):
Just tap speaks and if you're listeningon your iHeart app, it's ninety
seven point one WASHFM or Toby andChilly in the morning. Good luck wherever
your final vacation destination may be comingup in a few minutes. Some words
to inspire your morning mindset on theway Toby and Chilly in the morning Here
at ninety seven point one WASHFM onthis Wednesday, juneteenth, Good morning,

(04:45):
and thank you for waking up withus. It is now time for our
morning mindset. Quote all right, just comes to us from a friend of
mine named Bushman, who is oninsta at Bushman non nigue, Bushman non
nig. He says, people whomake you smile during the roughest times are
very important to your mental health.Bushman says, people who make you smile

(05:10):
during the roughest times are very importantto your mental health. Sometimes it's dark,
sometimes it gets rough, Sometimes theanxiety is overwhelming and it can lead
to other things. But if youcan find that's something that makes you smile
during those rough times, you'll seehow important those people are to your mental
health and you want to surround yourselfwith them. Keep that in mind today,

(05:30):
share it with someone who might needto hear it if you need to
find it. Toby and chillipage atwaschefim dot com and that is your morning
mindset for this Wednesday. Some entertainmentnews on the way we call it show

Show Biz buzz is what we callit. Here's what you need to know

in the Hamptons on Monday night. He was reportedly parting at a hotel bar
and then ran into trouble when heblew through a stop sign and then started
driving erratically, which then prompted thecops to pull him over. Sources say

(06:15):
he didn't do very well on afield sobriety test and refused to take a
breathalyzer. Timberlake's arrest comes right inthe middle of his world tour. He
was released obviously without bail, buthe is due back in court July twenty
six. Baseball Hall of Famer WillieMays died last night from congestive heart failure.
The ninety three year old spent mostof his twenty two season career playing

for the San Francisco Giants. Netflixis going to be opening entertainment complexes in
Dallas and also near Philadelphia next year, and they're going to be featuring in

Northern Virginia voters have made their choicesfor November's at US House and Center races.
So Republican US Senate candidate Hong Kowis going to be facing a Democratic
Senator Tim Kaine. Also, DemocratUgi Vinman and Republican Derek Anderson are the
projected winners in the District seven congressionalprimary. Republican Mike Clancy and Democrat Sujas

(08:09):
Subramaniam are the projected winners in thetenth District congressional primary. Nine of DC's
outdoor pools are going to be openingtoday from ten to six. That's to
give people some relief from all thisheat. They were not scheduled to open
on weekdays until next week. TheWashington Commanders are paying a stiff penalty to
the state of Virginia because of securitydeposits that were never returned to season ticket

owed to Virginia residents. Metro isgoing to be operating on a modified schedule
for Juneteenth, so Metro Rail openfrom five am to midnight and will run
on a Saturday service level, andMetro Bus will provide Saturday supplemental service.
And don't forget Metro owned parking lotsand garages are free today. And according

(08:58):
to a recent survey, fifteen sixpercent of Americans have dumped someone or considered
breaking up with them over their lackof performance in the bedroom. Now to
avoid that, twenty one percent saythey do cardio to improve their stamina,
and forty percent stretch so they canbe more flexible forecasts for today, sunny

(09:20):
sky is another hot day ninety thehigh right now sixty eight in Manassas,
ladies, do you love your shoes? Let us count the ways? What
is with the love affair that womenhave with their shoes? And just how
deeply do they love said kicks? We'll talk about this coming up in minutes.
Ladies and gentlemen, gather around. If you're into your shoes, you'll

(09:41):
want to hear this. As Tobyand Chilly in the Morning continues, do
you have a love affair with yourshoes? Ninety seven point one? Watch
off them? Where Toby and Chillyin the Morning eight sixty six ninet two
seven forty three sixty one seems likesome women do. In fact, it's
not just some, it's a lotof women. And the love affair really
seems to know no no bounds. Is there anything about some of the statistics

(10:03):
that we've posted, from fifty percentof women who confess to judging someone based
on their shoes to twenty percent ofwomen who admit that they're more turned out.
Yeah, that's the most shocking.Get I can't believe that two out
of eight women are more turned downturned on by new shoes than they are
their significant others. I'd like toknow what these shoes are. I have

(10:24):
never seen or worn shoes that mademe feel some sort of wet self care
because you're in a loveless marriage andhe hasn't given you the touch of a
man and quite some time, ora member of the preferred sex as it
were. Oh no, I mean, thank god my husband does it for
me. But I know the otherthing about this. So women are willing
to twenty five percent won't take theirshoes off, no matter how painful it

(10:48):
is. That maybe sets me apartfrom a lot of women in that I
won't even purchase a pair of shoesif I can't function in them. What
is the point of paying all thatmoney if I can't truly wear them from
the time an event starts to thetime it finishes. Some shoe freaks that
I know, aka women who arereally into shoes that kind of fit the

(11:11):
profile that's broken down in this survey, they say that there's there's pain in
there's beauty and pain, or there'spain in beauty or something like that,
that if you're gonna wear great shoes, you have to deal with a little
bit of pain. That's the priceof beauty or something along those lines,
and I can understand why you wouldget them. I also understand too,
why you have a pair of backupkicks in that big bag you took to

(11:33):
that formal event, which I've seendone a lot, because conversely, either
they'll switch into tennis shoes ladies Iknow, or they'll just go rock bear
feet on the dance floor at theirShenanigan. I also know guys who are
really into like sneakers and they havea whole collection of very special tennis shoes
or whatever sneakerheads. But sneakerhead dudesdon't get really judged like along some of

(11:56):
these lines, which I find tobe very interesting because if this is the
case for a woman, why couldn'tit be the same case for a man.
You know, I don't know thata guy thirty percent of women by
fort to seven pairs of shoes annually. What if it's more than that for
guys? You know? I don'tknow. Yeah, A good thing for
my husband that I don't really spendmore than like sixty bucks a pair.

(12:18):
There are women that spend hundreds ofdollars a pair on it, and a
good thing for your husband, thatyou're part of the fifty percent, That
you're not part of the fifty percentthen that are willing to lie about what
they really pay for their shoes. No, I'd just say, do you

We've got your tickets thanks to LiveNation. Let's say good morning to
Glenn and Arlington. Buenos Dias. There, Glenn, how are you?
I'm good? How are you good? Thank you for asking? You've got
the question? What is your guest? I think that guys own but don't
wear suit. Do you have aman in your life that would fit the
bill? Yeah? I think sinceCOVID, nobody really has to put on

(13:50):
suits anymore. Like, all thedress codes at work are super lax.
That's very true. Like and evennow at formal events, that COVID lockdown
kind of dress code still continues topermeate. I've seen more variations on the
suit theme than I've ever seen before. That's an excellent guest, Glenn.
It is also the correct answer, ooh nice, which means you're going to

(14:11):
see Shakira. Shakira tickets are yours? Congrats? Awesome? Thank you so
much? And what station just hookedyou up? Regardless of whether or not

Chilli, what do you think aboutthis? They did a study at NYU.
They talked to people who kept theirgoals private, and they found that
those who did were more likely tosucceed than those who talked about their goals
with friends and got acknowledgment and whatnot. I'm not exactly sure why that is,

(17:17):
but that's an interesting statistic. Well, based on the study, it
says it's because it gives you apremature sense of accomplishment and it doesn't make
you as motivated. I disagree withthat. I think when you set a
goal and then you share it withsomebody in a way, you are making
sure they hold you accountable to stickto that goal, because the next time
you talk to them, they're gonnabe like, Hey, how's it going

(17:38):
with getting that new job or startingthat business or losing that weight? Do
you not agree with that? Iused to think that way, but then
I decided that I was going togo kind of underground with some of my
goals and certain life things. Insteadof telling everybody I was going to do
it, then doing it, andthen reminding everybody that I did it,
I decided that, you know, when it comes to goals and more personal

(17:59):
objectives in life, I'm just gonnakeep that to myself. Maybe I'll have
those closest to me motivate me,like my significant other, maybe my daughter.
But other than that, I don'tknow that it's something I need to
broadcast to my friend group. Youknow what I mean? Yeah, put
it in a group chat and belike, hey, everybody, heads up,
this is my new goal. Pleasehold me accountable. Love Toby,

I mean the duncan doesn't have ashower facility. That's not that's a
