Toby and Chilly Mornings on demand on ninety seven point
one wash.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Out last Monday of the month of July.
Speaker 3 (00:07):
Toby and Chilly in the Morning, ninety seven point one
wash Chef m feeling good before five this morning because
I have learned new ways to fall asleep when I
have time to sleep, and when I say sleep, I
mean more than three hours or more than four hours.
Speaker 4 (00:23):
Well, you must share the new way. Is it something
you can share quickly and simply.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
One way for me at least, has just been simply
to blink, Like if I need to go to bed,
if I need to take a power nap, I lay down.
My body will tell me I'm tired. Then I just
if I'm like laying there in my thoughts and whatever,
I just blink repeatedly while I'm laying down, all comfortable
and whatever in my bed. Yeah, and then it just
(00:48):
kind of takes me to a place where my body
can unwind and I fall asleep within probably fifteen minutes.
Speaker 5 (00:54):
I I'm gonna have to try that today.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Yeah, it's it's yeah.
Speaker 5 (00:58):
If did you read that and thought let me try this?
Speaker 3 (01:00):
Did you just got the advice from a sleep doctor? Actually,
you try different things, and the internet, you know, can
give you more ideas if you want, but obviously talk
to you doctor. But it's little things like that. And
when you work the schedule that we work, sleep is
not just a commodity.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
It's precious. Put it for it knots you know.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
So Anyway, I slept a lot this weekend using that method,
and I feel good and refreshed as a result of it.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
Why are you feeling good this morning?
Speaker 4 (01:28):
I feel refreshed because I had a fabulous girl's weekend
with my bestie. We went to Colonial Beach and a
little later on the show, I'm gonna you probably can
relate to it. But your idea or definition of a
girl's or boys weekend does change as you get older.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
Oh do you know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (01:45):
Like it's a very different vibe.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
Everything changes when you get older, everything. But you know what,
hopefully you're feeling good because of that girl's weekend this weekend.
We'll get into that later on. Coming up next to
Toby and Chilly in the morning continues.
Speaker 5 (02:00):
As or going wild with the Olympics.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
I just I told you, I don't guess level tender.
Speaker 5 (02:06):
I don't get why they need to be.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Hooking up because you work hard and you play hard.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
We'll talk next Good morning, I told you, We're told
me a chilly in the morning. It's ninety seven point
one wash FM over there in Paris. It's like next
level tender when it comes to hookups amongst the athletes.
And I guess from what you're seeing on the internet
this morning, the hookup apps. I'm sorry, the dating apps
(02:32):
are going wild.
Speaker 5 (02:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
And also in the news last week, I guess the
Olympic people gave out contraceptives because they know it's going
to happen, so that they at least be safe about it.
I guess I was just trying to understand. You're only
there for a couple of weeks. You're there to represent
your country, to compete.
Speaker 5 (02:50):
Why do you have to be hooking up? Can you
just not just compete?
Speaker 2 (02:54):
Multiple reasons, One, you work hard, you play hard, not
necessarily in that order.
Speaker 5 (03:00):
It's just are we that horny?
Speaker 6 (03:02):
No?
Speaker 4 (03:02):
Is it?
Speaker 5 (03:03):
Really?
Speaker 2 (03:04):
That's not it.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
It's just they're into new experiences and these people, they're single,
they give up their relationships back home so that they
can train.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
They don't have time for it. They get to an
Olympic village where they're given everything.
Speaker 5 (03:18):
A buffet of other athletes.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
Right, and a buffet smorgasboard of prophylactic devices and whatnot
and such, you know, so that they can keep themselves
safe in order to compete.
Speaker 4 (03:28):
I mean, it's a I just feel like it takes
your head out of the game if you're messing around
on the side.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
I don't know tually these are pro athlete. They're not focused.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
Okay, well they're not pro ath they're not all pros,
but they're very focused.
Speaker 5 (03:43):
Time out, even pro athletes. When you're on the road
and you're not allowed.
Speaker 4 (03:46):
To have your significant other hooking up with you in
the hotel before game day, here's almost to be like, hey, focus.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
I would say that the more money you make, the
more discreet you become, and the more skillful you get
it breaking rules. But these young Olympians from around the
world just want to have the area code rule moment,
you know what I mean, I certainly have that moment.
That's right. Then Paris is their playgrounds.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
And by the way, we've got so much Olympic coverage
for you on our iHeart app. If you need it,
get it wherever you download your apps. It's totally free,

Speaker 4 (04:49):
And what is the quote you have for us on
this Monday from Buddha?
Speaker 2 (04:53):
The mind is everything what you think you become.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
Take it all in Buddha. The mind is everything what
you think you become. Now that doesn't mean it's going
to happen instantaneously or overnight. But are you having success thoughts?
Are you thinking about what you want to be? What
you want to become? It all starts in the mind.
Once you fix the mind, everything else is possible. Just
(05:22):
remember patience that needs to be a part of the equation.
Hopefully that helps you today these words from Buddha. That
is your morning mindset. We're Toby and Chilly in the Morning.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
How was it? Tell us where you went again, by
the way, in case you missed it previously with Toby
and Chilly in the morning.
Speaker 4 (10:04):
Colonial Beach, Virginia. It's about an hour and a half away.
It's right on the Potomac River. It's a little beach town.
Not much to do down there, And I'm telling you
is exactly what my friend and I needed. She and
I have been friends since I was thirteen years old,
and we've traveled many times together in the past. Whenever
we would plan a girl's trip, Toby, it would be
like places like South Beach or Ocean City to go
(10:25):
to secrets like it had to have great trendy restaurants
or clubs, or it had to have like a night
life so that we can go and kind of be
around people. I Candy, it is no longer that way.
We didn't leave this cottage like.
Speaker 5 (10:42):
It's on the river. The backyard is the river.
Speaker 4 (10:45):
There's like a little beach area and we just sat
in the serenity of the whole.
Speaker 5 (10:50):
There was like so quiet, it was weirdly wuiet, you mean.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
To tell me you just rolled up, parked, unpacked and
didn't move the car the entire weekend.
Speaker 4 (11:01):
The Friday night, the night with a Friday, the day
we got there. We hadn't bought any food or anything
from their food lining there, so we did go out
to eat that night, but then we're like, oh, let's
just get some things in case we want to snack.
After that, we didn't feel like leaving it yet it
was bizarre. It was why why leave? We're too comfortable here.
It's nice and quiet here. Our nervous system needs this.
(11:24):
Let's just chill, the two of us, sure, in front
of this body of water and do nothing.
Speaker 3 (11:30):
And that's different than the past because you were content
just being.
Speaker 4 (11:36):
Yes, where we would need to go to the rooftop
restaurants or we would google and yelp all these places
while we're in town. We've got to check out the
hot spots. Oh hel No, it was just us. Is
it the same for you at this or men?
Speaker 5 (11:51):
I don't even know. Has it evolved through?
Speaker 2 (11:52):
Oh, it's absolutely different.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
Me enjoying life in my twenties was a completely different
than say, right now, like this weekend, for example, I
looked forward to going to a movie, doing laundry and
doing nothing but sleeping.
Speaker 4 (12:09):
Yeah, but if you were to go out with if
you did have time to go do a guys weekend,
would it look different now than it did to wee?
Speaker 2 (12:15):
There'd be carousing, there'd be some ridiculousness. I wouldn't want
to remember parts of it. There'd probably be some contusions.
I mean, it's just it's just a yeah, no, grown up,
you're two grown up. Yeah, yeah, you have to like
let go of some of those things. And it sounds
to me like you've successfully let them go. Oh yes, well,
(12:38):
I mean for better or for worse.
Speaker 5 (12:39):
It was glorious. Can't wait to do it again.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
Look at you go now we're all inspired. Well, it's retreats.
Here we come. Even if it is a beach house
at Colonial Beach. There's nothing wrong with that if it's
bringing you joy, right right.

of throwing away instructions. Hike legos, you'll have these bunch
of pictures you don't understand anyway.

your laziness during the summer. The talkback microphones open too.

Speaker 6 (16:54):
Or no?
Speaker 2 (16:55):
How does this apply to you? We'll talk in less
than twenty minutes.
Speaker 3 (16:58):
Ten article going in around last week that came across
our desks here Toby and Chili in the morning on
ninety seven point one, WASHFM talks about the fact that
summer makes this lazy, and they go through a bunch
of different pieces of research to basically explain why it is.
Did we feel the blood like we don't want to
get off the couch. Would you say that you feel
(17:20):
lazier on the summer they're chilling, Well, I was over
the girl's weekend.
Speaker 4 (17:23):
But overall, when it's nicer out in the summertime, I
feel like I'm more active. That's interesting, Like I want
to go for longer walks, I want to go on picnics,
I want to go on hikes.
Speaker 5 (17:33):
Does that make sense?
Speaker 3 (17:34):
It does, Like I feel that way when it comes
to good pool days, but there are days when it's
way too hot and like just being out in the
sun makes you feel like malay, Oh, that's right. That's
when I want to curl up on the couch and
just watch YouTube. Let it take me down. Rabbit Hole
after rabbit hole after rabbit Hole. Toby and Chili in
the Morning eight six, six, nine two seven forty three
(17:57):
sixty one talkback microphones also open if you're signed in
listening to us on your iHeart app. James listening right
now in Warrenton, Lazier in the summer. Yes, or no, absolutely,
the moment it goes over seventy five degrees, I am
on the couch in the ac in a sweatshirt. I
feel you, James resemble that on the couch from RK.
We'll just leave it at that, a sweatshirt. Well it
(18:20):
is a post so okay, you know, Oh my goodness.
Speaker 5 (18:23):
That's funny.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
So many to top listen box or briefs.
Speaker 5 (18:26):
I mean, if seventy five degrees, maybe spring isn't for
you either.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
Emily, listening to us in Germantown, Good morning.
Speaker 2 (18:33):
What do you think? Are you lazier in this summer?
Go ahead?
Speaker 4 (18:36):
I think that adults should be able to have summer
break like you did when we were in school.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
So I think it's ridiculous that I have to work
all year.
Speaker 4 (18:42):
Well, I don't want to step on any toes. But
I have some teacher friends that do take the summer off,
So maybe you should look into becoming a teacher.
Speaker 3 (18:49):
Emily, thank you for jumping in grace listening to us
in Oxen.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
Hill this morning. Go ahead, lazier in the summer? Yes, no,
what you think.
Speaker 5 (18:57):
I'd be like myself if I didn't say.
Speaker 2 (18:59):
That I was, And there's nothing wrong with admitting that
you're lazier during the summer because we don't judge here.
Speaker 3 (19:05):
It's Toby and Chilly in the Morning. Got thoughts, Are
you lazier in the summertime? Why or why not? Eight
six six WASHFM, the number one talkback microphone works to
oppress that microphone leave us a voice note. We can't
wait to hear from you. Coming up in just minutes
a story that we think might just make your Monday.
Speaker 4 (19:21):
There's an app you may not know about where a
lot of local restaurants and grocery stores give food to
which is a lot less.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
For you, saving you money fighting food in security. It's
a story that we think might make your monday. You'll
hear it in minutes. It's Toby and Chilly in the Morning.
Speaker 3 (19:38):
Continue Toby and Chilly in the Morning on ninety seven
point one WASHFM, where now it's time for a story
that we think might just to make your monday. You
know what, it takes all of us to fight back
against food in security, and needless to say, for whatever reason,
there's a lot of food waste going on, yes, but
there are some people committed to doing something about it.
Speaker 4 (20:00):
Okay, so there are several whole foods markets across the
DC area that have joined others across the country and
they've partnered with this app that started in the US.
Speaker 5 (20:10):
In twenty twenty.
Speaker 4 (20:10):
It's called too Good to Go app. But it's not
just the grocery store that's a part of this.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
No, there's restaurants like Kava and other restaurants. Right, it
might have been fresh, they could have prepared it that day.
That doesn't make it bad at the end of the day. Well,
they've teamed up to sell these end of day leftover
prepared meals and bake goods at a very steep discount.
Speaker 5 (20:36):
It's so great.
Speaker 4 (20:37):
So this app Too Good to Go, you would download
it and then based on your geography, it'll let you
know which restaurants or grocery store locations are giving these
bags of food for dirt cheap.
Speaker 5 (20:52):
But there is a little catch here.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
Yeah, you don't know what's in the bag. Right.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
First of all, you set the order and then you
have to pick it up by the end of the day.
Speaker 2 (21:00):
They give you a two hour window. And when I
say you don't know what's in the bag, it literally
is a surprise bag. You don't know what food is
inside till you've said yes, I'll buy it. So it
could be anything from Whole Foods there, anything from cop yeah,
or it could be anything from stone cold or sticky rice.
Speaker 4 (21:19):
Now they are taking into account some dietary restrictions which
you can fill out on the app, so it's a
surprise that hopefully you're not going to be allergic to.
But to give you an idea of how much money
you would save. Something that's like thirty dollars worth of
food at Whole Foods, you're going to get for ten bucks.
Speaker 5 (21:34):
That is a huge savings yep.
Speaker 3 (21:36):
And their goal is just like Whole Foodskual, cutting food waste,
cutting food in security. You can get the app wherever
you download your app and apps, and know that it
works at more than four hundred and fifty stores nationwide.
Speaker 5 (21:50):
That's awesome.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
And by the way, if you want to read more
about the app, too good to go. We got you covered.
It's free and you can download bras. Go ahead.

It's all fun and games until Daddy daughter date night
at the movies becomes quite the mess this happened. We'll
explain what went down over the weekend. How you can
avoid this happening to you coming up as Toby and
Chilli in the morning.
Speaker 2 (23:58):
Continue, How does a daddy daughter movie date night get messy?
Toby and Chilly in the morning.
Speaker 3 (24:04):
Ninety seven point one wash CHEFM, I mean what would
you have done? Eight six six was CHEFM the number
one talk back microphones wide open? What would you have
done if you had taken your daughter to see the
most popular movie on the planet? Dead Pull and Wolverine.
And then ten minutes into the movie, you're interrupted by
a spill.
Speaker 5 (24:23):
How what spill was it?
Speaker 3 (24:25):
A milkshake spilled all over the place when they came
to deliver it to the seat, and they missed the
little table in front of the seat, which then put
the milkshake all over my daughter's leg, and then some
of it got on me. And let's just say that
that seat was very sticky, very gooey, and very smeared
with milkshake.
Speaker 4 (24:44):
So why is it so the person who spilled it
the server at the theater.
Speaker 5 (24:48):
They didn't come back and clean it up.
Speaker 3 (24:49):
Oh, they came back with a replacement shake in some
napkins because they realized that the napkins we had in
the bag with the food that we got, they weren't enough.
Speaker 2 (24:58):
It was bad. So she tried the best that she could.
But I will give her the grace because it was
very very packed at that movie theater between Twister and
Dead Bull and Wolverine. So I mean it was like
it was just very very crowded. So she was overwhelmed.
They were overwhelmed at the snack bar. I could just
tell that it was a thing.
Speaker 4 (25:17):
Now, this movie was more for you than it was
for your daughter. You're the bigger fan. Could she not
have gotten up and cleaned herself off?
Speaker 3 (25:24):
No, because had kind of gotten up after that milkshake
spilled everywhere, it would have made even more of a
mess than it would have gone running down her leg.
Speaker 2 (25:34):
Yeah, it's yeah, it sounds very first world, and it is.
But you know the truth is, you know what it's
like to have something like a milkshake spilled every year,
and it doesn't clean easy.
Speaker 4 (25:45):
And you can't be standing up and disrupting the movie
for everybody else. So how much of the movie did
you miss?
Speaker 3 (25:51):
So this is about ten minutes in, and I blined
it to go and get like napkins and paper towels
from the concession stand because there were no paper towels
in the bathroom because it was a green bathroom. Nothing
wrong with that, that's fine. I just needed some paper towels.
I would say I missed a good twenty minutes of
the movie, including some of the first cameos, which were
(26:12):
very important in Easter Eggs. And by the way, the
cameos and Easter eggs for Dead Pull and Wolverine worth
the price of admission alone.
Speaker 4 (26:19):
So between not being in the theater and being distracted,
twenty minutes is a pretty big chunk of a movie.
Does this mean you're gonna go back and see it
in the theater, aren't you? I would be annoyed.
Speaker 5 (26:28):
I'd be like that.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
No, I wouldn't say that. I wasn't annoyed.
Speaker 3 (26:31):
I was just trying to be understanding of the plight
that they were going through. However, when your daughter says,
you missed the cameos such and such with so and
so on the Easter.
Speaker 2 (26:39):
Egg with this, and I'm like, well, excuse me.
Speaker 3 (26:42):
I was scing off to get your napkins to clean
up that milkshake mess.
Speaker 5 (26:46):
But you know, oh man, I mean i'd go back.
Speaker 4 (26:48):
I'd be like, can I have a replacement ticket since
I had to clean up the mess you made?
Speaker 2 (26:52):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (26:53):
You know?
Speaker 3 (26:53):
Or madam, maybe if somebody's listening from a movie theater
where they heard about a spill over the weekend, you
might want to call us at eighty six to wash
FM the number one, because I'll definitely go back to
the movie with some passes if you want to give
me some of those.
Speaker 4 (27:05):
Oh really, and uh, maybe a poncho next time you go,
that would be very helpful.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
And you had to go there. You had to go there.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
What more?
Speaker 1 (27:14):
Toby and Jilly head over to washfm dot com or
the iHeartRadio app.
