Speaker 2 (00:14):
Was chef and feeling good before five this morning because
I am elated at the joy that my significant other
has about the coming festive season. My thoughts on whether
or not it's too early for Christmas decor holiday decor,
the festive season decor that's out the window. She is
(00:36):
back from a long work trip and she went shopping
at Costco and Home Depot and Low's and got Christmas stuff.
She bought a golden Retriever dressed to Santa Claus that
you might have seen. It went viral on TikTok a
couple of weeks ago, and she came over yesterday and
just nonchalantly announces while we're talking about the five K
(00:56):
and everything that's run at the end of the month,
She's like, so this week, I'm decorating the patio for Christmas.
Speaker 4 (01:02):
Oh wow. And I was like, now, which I think
your patio, not her patio?
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Her house looks like Christmas already. She has nutcrackers and
stuff up. This is like her holiday, this is her
super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (01:16):
Just to be clear, she's not asking you if it's okay.
She's telling you that's what's gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
And I'm not gonna do anything about it because she
gets great joy in it, and her joy is the
reason I'm feeling good this morning.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
It's good that your h aa or your place allows
for holiday decorations to be put up.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
All I don't know that that's gonna be okay or not,
but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
Speaker 5 (01:38):
It.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
Oh my god, that's right. So that's me. What about you?
This morning?
Speaker 4 (01:42):
I'm feeling joy because I witnessed my cousin get married
over the weekend and it was a beautiful wedding. And

doubt in your head, I wonder if they're really right
for each other. This was not one of those times.
This is one of those times where you see two
people and your like, this is going to be forever.
You just get that gut feeling and it was lovely
(02:04):
to see.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
So yeah, well that's what I'm talking about and that's
awesome too. It must have been a proper Armenian wedding, yes,
assuming that there was a lot of.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
Like Shenanigans afoot.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
I don't know what an Armenian wedding is like, but
I can only assume it's a big party.

listening to ninety seven point one WASHFM, Toby and Chilly

you're wondering if you're the only person who can relate
(10:19):
to it. Well, tap that talk back microphone, tell us
what's on your mind, and we look forward to hearing
what it is that's got your feeling some sort of
way this morning. We'll get to that and your thoughts
coming up in just minutes. As Toby and Chilly in

Speaker 3 (10:48):
On your mind.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
And well sometimes we sit back and we listen to
these and we're like, yeah, we can relate to that,
or who could relate to this?
Speaker 4 (10:55):
That's great?
Speaker 3 (10:56):
Where is that even coming from?
Speaker 2 (10:58):
Like, for instance, Chilly, we got this one message from
Tom in front Royal check this out.
Speaker 4 (11:03):
So this is definitely gonna sound crazy, but I have
never gone to the barber.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
I refuse to trust anyone else other than myself to
touch my hair.
Speaker 3 (11:11):
I don't even let my mom touch it.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
Tom, thank you for leaving us that message via talkback.
Speaker 4 (11:16):
Wow. Okay, so I can understand the mom not touching
it because I definitely butchered my husband and my son's
hair during the pandemic mud. That's pretty extreme not to
trust a professional.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
I was dealing with four boys. My mom cut all
four of us with the same bowl haircuts. So I'm
probably not the person to ask about mom's cutting hairs.
But I'm going to tell you what. Yeah, I like
me a barber. It's the male version of going to
get a manny petty. If you haven't tried it and
you have, say like a bald head, this straight razor
(11:49):
is bliss.
Speaker 4 (11:50):
Yes. And also Tom, if they screw it up, it
literally will grow back into it nice.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
But don't sleep on the barbers because generally they know
what they're doing. If you want to leave us a
message that's something you think maybe you're the only one
who feels a certain way about Maybe you might want
to know who relates to what you're going through.
Speaker 3 (12:06):
Talkback's always open for you. Taps we can send.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
If you're signing to your iHeart app, you'll see that

Speaker 2 (17:07):
We can't relate to pop stars and country superstars, but
we are parents. What do you hope your son Donado
admires about you one day?
Speaker 4 (17:16):
Well, I know you make fun of me for being
a helicopter parent told me, but I hope that Donado
can look back and think everything that my mother or
father did for me was because they genuinely wanted to
get me ready for the real world. And all the
things that we've tried to do for him to help
him with his neurodivergence. What about you?
Speaker 2 (17:34):
I don't want to get too heavy, but I hope
that my daughter one day knows that I co parented

Speaker 4 (19:01):
We've got a crazy first date story from Regina in
DC that involved getting third degree burns on her leg.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
That's next. You don't want to miss this.
Speaker 1 (19:10):
It's Toby and Chilly's crazy first.
Speaker 2 (19:13):
Day Regina, good morning, So tell us this story.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
We can't wait to hear it.
Speaker 5 (19:17):
So it starts when I'm in my early twenties. I
was in Florida at the time. I decided that for
my birthday I wanted to go to a gun range
for the first time. There are tons of them in Florida.
I get there and I think the manager and I
were flirting a little bit and thought it was cute,
so he let me shoot a little longer for free
without charging me extra. He asked me if I wanted
to go hang out with him and his friends to
this club, and I explained to him I don't really
like bars or clubs, but I don't mind going to
(19:40):
chip club. So we wound up going to his hip club,
and then he and I were talking on the way
home and he ran when he said things about his car.
He had this nice like the red BMWM three, talking
about him going and driving places, and asked me if
I wanted to go on a trip with him.
Speaker 4 (19:54):
Eventually I'm like, sure.
Speaker 5 (19:55):
Why not go now? So we wound up driving from
like Orlando, kissingmy Florida to Dallas, the thing in Texas.
So he had a BMW and he had a Holly
David bike and we joke on the motorcycle. So he
has this big touring bike and I'm a small old
lady and I asked him, I wonder if pacifico for
me to pick it up, because he does it with
such ease. So he stands there and he watches me
kind of muscle with or tussle with the bike. Funny
(20:16):
get it up. But the way I got it up
was letting it lean on my calf. Mind you, he
knows bikes, he knows cars, and he watched him do
this and then the tot and I wound up with
a three third degree burn on my leg.
Speaker 1 (20:27):
We wind up spending a couple of days there.
Speaker 5 (20:29):
But it was an adventurous thing and I think I
had fun and again making bad decisions when I was
in my early twenty.
Speaker 4 (20:35):
After that weekend, which was one non ending first date,
did you guys ever hang out again? Or was that
the end of it?
Speaker 5 (20:42):
We did hang out again, we wounded up dating for
about a year.
Speaker 3 (20:46):
Dang, Can I.
Speaker 2 (20:46):
Ask you why you would agree on a first date
to go from a strip club to Texas on a
random road trip on a motorcycle Because I thought you
were saying he had like an M three, I'm like, okay,
well at BMW, that's a nice shake down that even.
Speaker 4 (21:00):
That was pretty brave of her to get into a
sports car with the guy. But you even ditched the
sports car.
Speaker 5 (21:05):
I was in my early twenties making bad decision. Now
I know not to make Steven Joyce's that was.
Speaker 4 (21:09):
Quite the first date, indeed, very crazy, so crazy that
you need to find a date or someone to go
see John Legend when he comes to town December twenty
first at the Hall at Live.
Speaker 1 (21:25):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 3 (21:26):
You're welcome, Regina.
Speaker 2 (21:27):
Now stay right there and if you've got a crazy
first date and it's made for a good or bad story.
We want to hear it at eight sixty six. Wash
up in the number one and.
Speaker 4 (21:37):

from the bano while their legs have been asleep.

sitting there? I can nap standing up.
