Toby and Chili Mornings on Demand on ninety seven point
one washeem Happy Halloween.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
It's Toby and Chilly in the Morning, a ninety seven
point one Wash FM. I'm Chiliamar producer Taylor Shay here
for Toby Nap, and I want to apologize. I am
not any Halloween spirit.
Speaker 3 (00:17):
Like you are today.
Speaker 4 (00:18):
Yeah, I'm wearing my skeleton hoodie that I got from
Party City like four years ago. But this is the
best hoodie ever. It's so warm and so comfortable, and
I get to wear one day a year. But you're
not festive today, Chili. That's not a character.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
I know. I usually do dress in something, but which
is weird because we're in radio.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
It's like, who the hell's going to see us? Anyway?
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Maybe I had one of those aha moments after all
these years, like who am I dressing up for?
Speaker 3 (00:41):
But what do you mean you can only wear it
one day? Or I I come from the belief that
you could have worn that.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Hoodie since the beginning, or at the very least since
like mid October, because it is the month of Halloween.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
It's not just a one day hoodie. I mean it's.
Speaker 4 (00:57):
Cute, well, it's got a skeleton on it, and it's honestly,
it's part of a Halloween costume.
Speaker 5 (01:02):
I didn't tell you that part.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
Yeah, it's okay, but I like it. Here's the other.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
I would be more upset if I were you, because
the one day you're wearing it, it's gonna be eighty.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
I don't think you're gonna meet You're not gonna be
able to wear.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
The hoodie outside of the studio today because it's gonna
be so warm, record breaking warm, which I think is
great because if you do go trick or treating with
the kids and their costumes are not gonna be covered
with a bulky coat, and it's just nicer to be outside.
So we're gonna kind of do the whole out in
the cul de Sac, having adult beverages and trick or
(01:34):
treating with our kids tonight.
Speaker 3 (01:36):
So hopefully you'll be enjoying your day too.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Now, Halloween makes me think of oh, spirits, I can't
do that sound anyway. Makes me think of spirits and
those people who are in the business of well doing readings,
like psychics psychics because they say it gets very busy
for them this time of year. I want to know
if a psychic, has ever gotten it right? Eight six
(02:01):
six nine two seven four three six one. Never happened
to me? Has it happened to you?
Speaker 3 (02:07):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (02:07):
Totally big time? She got something huge right.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
Oh gotta hear that and your stories coming up next
to Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues on ninety
seven point one wash Up. It's Thursday, October thirty first
Happy halloweens Toby and Chilling in the Morning on ninety
seven point one wash FM. I'm a Chiliamar producer Taylor
Shay is here for Toby Napp. Have you ever been
to a psychic that actually got something right? Eight six
(02:32):
six nine two seven four three six one. Apparently some
psychics say that this is a very busy time of
year for them because.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
The spirits are all over the place.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
And before before the break, you mentioned that you actually
went to a psychic that predicted something that eventually happened.
Speaker 5 (02:51):
Oh, she was very right.
Speaker 6 (02:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:53):
I went to a psychic with some questions about a
job and a relationship, and she kept going back to
my dad saying either he did or was going to
have a stroke, and my dad was fine.
Speaker 5 (03:02):
I left there thinking that she was a joke.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
And then a few weeks later, Dad calls and he's
a truck driver and he ran the same route every
Thursday my whole life.
Speaker 5 (03:11):
He could do it with his eyes closed.
Speaker 4 (03:12):
He told me that he accidentally drove past this factory
by an hour. Said he was daydreaming, he got lost.
It's very out of character for him. So I told
him what the psychic said. Up was like, oh, the psychic,
Dad said that you did, or you're going to have
a stroke.
Speaker 5 (03:27):
He was like, no, we're not even discussing that. That
is crazy.
Speaker 4 (03:30):
Guess what Four years later he dies of something totally
unrelated to his stroke, and guess what showed up on
the autopsy report. No way, Dad did have a stroke
at some point in his life.
Speaker 5 (03:40):
And I'm certain, Oh it was like that Dad.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
Oh No, I mean I have I been to a psychic? Yes?
Speaker 2 (03:46):
Has anyone ever predicted anything like that? No, not even close,
Not even close. It's always like vague readings that they'll have,
like like, oh, really, anybody could have said that. Dan,
you are part of the show in Springfield. I guess
you had a psychic predict something.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
What happened?
Speaker 6 (04:02):
I went to a psychic that told me I would
meet the love of my life at a show of
some kind. She unfortunately couldn't say what type of show.
But a year later I went to my daughter's play
and met one of the moms there and we've been
together ever since.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
Oh my god, that's amazing. See Dan.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
I don't know about you, Taylor, but when I was single,
I was always wanting to know when I was going
to meet the one, and no one could ever tell me.
Speaker 5 (04:25):
You didn't go to the right psychic obviously.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
Apparently not.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
If you want to add anything to the conversation eight
six six nine two seven four three six ' one,

Morning A ninety seven point one Wash FM. I'm Chilliamara.
Toby Napp is out today. But we are going to
you share a quote as we do this time every morning,
to get you into a great morning Mindset and I
came across this quote on Halloween and I thought it
(05:11):
was really really cool. Paula Guran says, a father we've
gotten from the magic and mystery of our past, the
more we've actually come to need Halloween. So I started thinking,
what does this mean? It reminds us that even in
a world where things are often explained or predictable, there's
still a part of us. It really craves the mystery, imagination,
(05:31):
and wonder, and Halloween then becomes more than just this
random holiday. It's a chance to reconnect with our roots
and to embrace the unknown, creativity and also a little
bit of magic.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
So I'll read the quote one more time.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
Paula Guran says, the farther we've gotten from the magic
and mystery of our past, the more we've come to
need Halloween. And you can share that quote or your
own using hashtag morning Mindset and going to the Choby
and Chili page at washfm dot com. Now coming up

brothers were convicted of killing their parents back in nineteen
eighty nine, claiming it was out of fear of abuse,
and recent evidence, as well as a Netflix series, have
(06:48):
renewed interest in their case. Speaking of Netflix, Martha Stewart
has expressed disappointment with Netflix's documentary Martha, criticizing its focus
on her prison time and unflattering portrayal. She says she
felt the show lacked color and context, particularly in its
final scenes, which she called quote a bit lazy. Well,

Coming up. Do you have a sixth sense?
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Well, nearly eighty percent of women believe they do, especially
when it comes to health. Producer Taylor Shay is in
for Toby Nap today and she says she was able
to catch a health issue with her son thanks to
her intuition. We'll get to that next as Toby and
Chilly in the Morning continues on ninety seven point one.
Washe f do you think you have a sixth sense?
(10:12):
It's Toby and Chilly in the Morning on ninety seven
point one Wash FM. Toby Nap is out, but producer
Taylor Shay is here. I am Chilli Amar and the
reason I'm bringing this up is because, according to a survey,
seventy seven percent of women feel that they do have
a sixth sense. They've got this gut feeling and that
it's right eight sixty eight percent of the time.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
That's pretty high.
Speaker 5 (10:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
Can you think of a time where your instincts were
right on when other people may be doubted you?
Speaker 3 (10:37):
Well?
Speaker 4 (10:38):
As a mom? You you, oh, you have that instinct.
My well, he was eighteen months at the time. He
was having these like shivers and my husband said, he's cold,
put a sweater on him.
Speaker 5 (10:47):
I said, I don't think that's what it is.
Speaker 4 (10:49):
Your fingers don't twitch when you have shivers when you're
cold or right, guess.
Speaker 5 (10:54):
What they were seizures.
Speaker 3 (10:56):
I was right.
Speaker 5 (10:57):
I was like, he's not cold, something else.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
So even though you're has been kind of pushed back
on that. Did you guys go to the doctor that day?
Or like after oh really?
Speaker 3 (11:06):
Oh yeah?
Speaker 4 (11:07):
I took them to the urgent care and they're like,
would you like an ambulance to children's or are you
gonna drive?
Speaker 3 (11:11):
And I was like, whoa what So you're right about
that moment, but you.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Hate that You're right, Yes, that happens to me with like,
I know this is gonna sound terrible, but I get
a feeling or vibe about people when I first meet them. Yeah,
and I get guarded sometimes or I keep them at
arm's length, and my friends.
Speaker 3 (11:30):
Are like, why aren't you like friendlier with them? I'm like,
I don't know. I just got this feeling.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
Something, I got the sixth sense and like down the
road months later or whatever. Something will come up about
that individual and they'll be like, oh.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
My god, Chili, you were right. I go I know,
I hate it. I hate that about myself, but I'm
usually right. Let's just hope it's not about anybody that
I have to work with.
Speaker 7 (11:55):
Toby and Chili's Nearly Impossible question.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
Jackal lanterns were originally carved out of this in Ireland?
What are we talking about? So it's not a pumpkin?
Eight six six nine two seven four three six one.
You're playing for tickets to go see Kylie Minogue Get
Capital one Arena April eighth. Again, jackal lanterns were originally
(12:18):
carved out of this in Ireland. What is it we're
talking about? Eight six six Wash FM? The number one.
We'll get to your guesses and the answer to our
nearly impossible question coming up next with Toby and Chilly
in the Morning on ninety seven point one Wash FM.
Speaker 7 (12:33):
Toby and Chilly's nearly Impossible question.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
You're playing for tickets to go see Kylie Minou get
Capital one Arena on April eighth. The question today in
case you missed it, Jackal lanterns were originally carved out
of this in Ireland. What are we talking about? Eight
six six nine two seven four three six one is
the number.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
Good morning, you're are part of the show in Brunswick.
How are you Dan?
Speaker 4 (12:59):
Fine?
Speaker 3 (13:00):
You got the show. Thank you so much. You've got
the question what do you think? The answer is.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
I think it's my wife said, turnups, turnups. That's a
very small surface space to make a jack lantern out of.
That's that's a teeny tiny bit compared to a pumpkin.
Speaker 3 (13:19):
But your wife, your wife is correct.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
She must have done a quick Google search, because yeah,
before jack lanterns were carved out of pumpkins in Ireland,
they used turnips. But they also use potatoes, which we
would have accepted either answer. Congratulations, Oh yay, Oh, I'm
so oh and those are very small, Yeah, exactly, you're
like using a little pen tip to carve it out.
(13:43):
You're gonna go see Kylie Minogua Capitol one Arena on
April eighth, and I'm guessing you're gonna take your wife
since she helped you win the prize today.
Speaker 8 (13:52):
Yes, Mickey's very excited.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
She's coping nuts in the background here. Thank you, You're
very welcome.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
We'll have another shot at those tickets to go see
Kylie Minogue tomorrow morning with another nearly impossible question, but
Toby and Chilly in the Morning on ninety seven point

A car plummeted from the fifth floor of a parking
garage in Montgomery County yesterday morning and landed upside down
at the Barlow Building on Wisconsin Avenue. The driver was
able to get out of the vehicle without help from
(14:33):
first responders. Along with selecting who they want in office,
Montgomery County voters will get to design how long their
county executive should serve. Question A on the ballot proposes
limiting the county executive to only two terms.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
Currently they're limited to three terms.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
A new bio energy project in Prince George's County is
working to turn human waste into natural gas. The project
separates water and solid and harvest methane from what's left over,
and the gas collected will be used to fuel a
fleet of right on buses in Montgomery County. Former Washington
quarterback Doug Williams is now a step closer to being
chosen for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He was
(15:15):
announced as a semi finalist for the Contributor category yesterday.
Doug Williams is widely considered to be a key reason
black quarterbacks were accepted in the NFL, and according to
recent survey, sandwiches make up thirty percent of Americans diets,
with forty six percent saying they could live on sandwiches
(15:36):
alone for the rest of their lives. And the favorite sandwich,
grilled cheese, forecasts for today, it's gonna feel like summer
out there, sonny, with HIGs near eighty three right now,
fifty five degrees in rest in coming up. What is
a grudge that you're still holding on to? How long
has it been? Eight six six nine two seven four
(15:58):
three six one. Apparently crows hold on to grudges for
seventeen years. Can your grudge beat that? We'll get to
your calls next? As Toby and Chilly in the Morning
continues a ninety seven point one wash ff.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
When somebody does you wrong, do you hold a grudge?
Speaker 2 (16:15):
Eight six six nine two seven four three six '
one is a phone number if you want to jump
in and share a story. It's Toby and Chili in
the Morning at ninety seven point one Wash FM. I'm
Chiliamara here with Taylor Shay and I was actually laughing
reading this article about a man who pissed off a
group of crows. I didn't know this, but crows apparently
hold grudges for like seventeen years. What the reason I
(16:39):
The reason I say that is because we've all seen
these birds, these crows doing things that you don't want,
so you show them. And this guy in Seattle shoot
away a group of crows with a rake, and they
dive bombed him every single day between the bus stop
and his home until he moved.
Speaker 3 (16:58):
Wait, they bullied him out of his Yeah, like, I
enough of this. I can't take it anymore.
Speaker 2 (17:05):
I've never held a grudge against animals or any even humans,
partly because I have found that if you wait long enough,
karma takes care of things.
Speaker 3 (17:18):
But can you think of a grudge that maybe you're
still holding onto.
Speaker 5 (17:21):
Yeah, I'm still mad at Indianapolis.
Speaker 3 (17:22):
What did Indianapolis do to you?
Speaker 5 (17:24):
I had a job interview and this is Patty.
Speaker 3 (17:27):
Okay, let's go, let's hear it.
Speaker 4 (17:28):
Okay, So I had a job interview one time in Indianapolis,
and I wanted it so bad, and they made me
think that I got the job. They had me talk
to HR about like who's gonna get me my key cart?
Speaker 5 (17:38):
I'm like, I got this, Guess what I didn't.
Speaker 4 (17:41):
Now every time I drive through Indianapolis, I think about
that job, and I'm like mad at the city. There
was one time where I was booking flights and I
had the option to connect through Indianapolis and I went nope.
Speaker 3 (17:51):
So mad, guys, mad at the whole state?
Speaker 2 (17:54):
Right, how dare you not accept me as a resident?
H Okay, Well that's intense. See Joe in Germantown. You
say you're holding onto a grudge, what's it about?
Speaker 3 (18:05):
Go ahead.
Speaker 9 (18:05):
I used to be friends with this guys who thought
he was way funnier than he actually was. And this
one time he made a joke about a good friend
of mine after they passed away, and that was just
absolutely it for me. That was almost fifteen years ago,
and I still haven't talked to him since.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
I don't blame you, Joe, I get it, But honestly,
I'm willing to bet that dude has not thought about
you twice. So ugh, if you want to add anything,
you can always hit the talkback microphone on the iHeartRadio
app and send it our way.
Speaker 3 (18:36):
Coming up next, we've got another.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
One of your crazy first date stories, Mike and Springfield.
Was a groomsman in a friend's wedding and the booze
cruise reception, let's just say, led to a very memorable
encounter with one of the bridesmaids. So we're gonna find
out if their story ended with a love connection. As
Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues on ninety seven
point one, was chef app It's Toby and Chilly's crazy
(18:58):
first dated Morning.
Speaker 10 (19:00):
Mike in Springfield, You've got Toby and Chilly in the Morning,
and I hear you have a crazy first date story
for us.
Speaker 3 (19:06):
What's up?
Speaker 8 (19:06):
It was twenty thirteen. My friend was getting married. I
was a groomsman, she was a bridesmaid. We met the
first time right after they had just gotten married, and
the reception was on a booze cruise in Annapolis. We
had some beverages and started making out on the dance
floard and then physically like ran into her parents while
we're making out. And now we're married and.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
Have two kids. Okay, so that wasn't even technically your
first date. That was your first meet and hook up.
Speaker 8 (19:33):
First meet, first date, first hook up, first everything.
Speaker 10 (19:36):
Must have been one incredible booze cruise. Are you sure
it wasn't the booze that helped influence the decision making gear?
Speaker 8 (19:44):
It was maybe the booze, maybe the uniform, but it
all worked in my favor.
Speaker 3 (19:48):
And did the.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
Parents still bring up the fact that y'all were acting
some sort of way while you were on this cruise together.
Speaker 8 (19:55):
I don't know if they really remember. But there's a
great picture of the then bride and groom from their
reception and in the background and like the shadows, you
can see us just really making out. So it's a
great memory. There's an even better picture of us as
bridesmaid and groomsmen, not looking too happy walking down the aisle,
and then superimpose that next to the picture of us
(20:15):
as husband and wife. We look much happier.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
How it started, how it's going? Oh yeah, Well, it's.
Speaker 10 (20:21):
A tremendous story.
Speaker 3 (20:22):
And the fact that there's.
Speaker 10 (20:23):
Evidence in the form of the photos. That means even
more congratulations and we.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
Hope that you guys can make a date night out
of going to see Trans Siberian Orchestra capitowin Arena December
twenty third, thanks.
Speaker 3 (20:38):
To Live Nation.
Speaker 8 (20:39):
Awesome, thanks so much, really really appreciate it.
Speaker 10 (20:41):
And you know they serve cocktails there, so maybe if
you got some missile tell you could recreate that first
moment when you were on the cruise.
Speaker 8 (20:51):
I would definitely appreciate that.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
And based on what we're hearing in the background, looks
like y'all did more than kiss afterwards.
Speaker 8 (20:56):
Oh yeah, there's two little ones. We love listening to
Toby and Chiley the morning driving the school.
Speaker 3 (21:01):
Well, thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (21:02):

Speaker 2 (23:33):
Toby Nap is out today, but Taylor Shay, our producer,
is here. You've got two kids, two toddlers, and you
know that Halloween costumes are a big deal. They get
to pick the costume, and they want to wear that costume,
and they want to wear it more than once, which,
by the way, is fine because you spend money on it.
Speaker 5 (23:51):
Exactly get your uses out of it.
Speaker 2 (23:53):
Which I had no problem with. We had ordered what
looks like an inflatable toilet. It looks like my son
is sitting on the toilet taking care of business. This
is the costume he picked.
Speaker 5 (24:02):
It's hilarious off.
Speaker 2 (24:04):
Of Amazon, and when it arrived, I knew we might
have trouble because the suspenders that go over his shoulder
were made kind of cheaply, and so when he wanted
to wear it to the Vienna Halloween Parade last week,
I was like, I don't know, I don't know if
this is gonna last. We got to save it for
the big day. But he insisted and I let him
and what happened broke Yes, it did, and he had
(24:24):
a huge meltdown. We had to leave the parade early.
So I'm panicking because I don't know how to fix
stuff like that.
Speaker 3 (24:31):
I'm not a good mcguiver person.
Speaker 5 (24:33):
Chili, your dad is a tailor though, how do.
Speaker 3 (24:34):
You not know how to sew? Okay?
Speaker 2 (24:35):
Well, the costume is a very different thing than like clothes,
and I didn't want to make a bad situation worse.
But my aunt just so hadn't be staying with us,
and she's very crafty and she was able to patch
it together.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
So we're good to go for tonight.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
But I'm telling you right now, Taylor, that I am
scared to death that we're not going to get through
enough houses before the trigger treating is over and that
thing breaks again, because if it does, this will be
a Halloween that haunts us.
Speaker 3 (25:08):
For years to come.
Speaker 4 (25:09):
Jillie's whole families go into therapy over a halloween costume.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
Don't laugh, It's true.
Speaker 1 (25:14):
What more Toby and Jilly head over to washfm dot
