It's Toby and Chilly in the Morning on ninety seven
point one wash FM. I'm Chilli Amar, Toby nap is
out and my climb is in for Toby, and I
just want to make sure that you are adjusting to
standard time because her back is the standard. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
I didn't realize it was called standard time. Actually, I
dig get in hours for sleep, so I do feel
a lot better. Yeah, we're awake.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Falling back an hour is where we gain an hour
when we were in daylight saving Our producer Taylor Shay though,
she sent a message this morning was probably like three something,
and I knew because I was at work, and I go,
oh oh, she got screwed up somehow. So when she
came in, I said, how in the world with our

(00:50):
cell phone automatically doing she still has like an old
school watch that I guess vibrates. That's not a smart watch.
Oh my god, wake her up. But then so she
wakes up right, Yeah, she realizes she could sleep another hour.
Do you sleep another hour? Do you just say to
hell with it? I'm going in.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
I try to sleep another hour, but then I wake
up ten minutes. Anyway, all right, I give up, I'm up,
I'm up. I'm arguing with nobody.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
By the way, she decided to just say I'm up.
Forget it. I'm yeah, I'm just going to come in.
But anyway, hopefully the time was good for your sleep.
It's nice and dark when I'm in bed, so I
got a solid six hours, which is so rare. I'm
very excited about that. And we also had a really
nice weekend at Great Wolf Lodge, which all get into

(01:33):
a little bit later in the show. And the Commanders
have the best start to a season since nineteen ninety six. Wow,
they beat the Giants yesterday afternoon. I know you're a
Ravens fan.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
Yeah, but obviously also you know my that's my backup team.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Of course we at the game for the Ravens.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
I went to the Ravens game. Yes, it was amazing. Yeah,
they blew it out too. It was it was like,
it was a great day. It was a good local
sports day exactly. I guess if you want to look
at it that way.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Coming up in just a few minutes, Jimmy Fallon recently
revealed that he visited John Belushi's grave and had a
beer with him, you know. Okay, so this got us thinking,
if you could, what deceased celebrity would you want to
have a beverage with? Okay, like if they weren't deceased,
who would that be for you? Eight six six nine
two seven four three six one. We'll get to your

(02:22):
calls as Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues on
ninety seven point one, wash FM, Okay, what decease celebrity
would you want to have a beverage with if you could?
Eight sixty six nine two seven four three six one.
I'm chiliamar Toby and Chilly in the Morning on ninety
seven point one washe FM? Toby Nap is out, but
Mike Client is here and we're asking this question because

(02:44):
recently Jimmy Fallon revealed that he went to John Belushi's
grave and had a beer with him. Wow, but let's
just say we could bring back somebody, or you could
have a beverage with a deceased a celebrity or famous person.
Who what's the first person? Who's the first person?

Speaker 3 (03:00):
And you think of I think Martin Luther King, Wow,
it sounds a little just because I think it was
kind of cool to like sit there and talk to
him about, you know what, what he went through during
that moment, because I feel like he gave up so
much to lead our country in such such a such
an amazing I mean, the world in such an amazing situation.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
That's a good one. That's a really good on minds
going to seem so silly, And mine was John F.
Kennedy Junior. I had a huge crush on him when
he was alive, but also like he grew up, you know,
Camelot and just being a Kennedy and all the pressure
on him as a kid, losing his dad at such
a young age. So many questions. But won't get that opportunity.
Let's go to let's see Kathy in Fair Facts. What

(03:40):
celebrity would you want to grab a drink with?

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Brittany Murphy. I would love to hear all about our
journeys in Hollywood and what was like filming such iconic
movies like Clueless. She just seemed like a genuinely kind
and fun person to be around.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Britney Murphy, Gosh, I haven't heard that name in a while.
That's true.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
That's an interesting one.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Yeah, she was like just getting really like well known
for her work when she passed away. Thank you for that, Kathy,
for sharing that. John in Rockville, your turn, go ahead.

Speaker 4 (04:08):
I would love to have a beer with Heath Ledger.
He seemed like a really cool guy and I would
love to talk to him about being the joker. We
lost him way too soon.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
Oh Man, Heath Ledger. That's another one. Right. And by
the way, I'm not a huge Batman franchise fan, but
I don't think there will ever be a joker as
good as Heath Ledger.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
Right. I agree with you.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
He set the bar way too high. Thanks so much
for your calls. If you want to chime in and
you didn't get a chance to right now, you can
always hit the talk back button on the iHeart Radio app,
which is a little microphone. Just hit it and leave

(04:49):
Quote as Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues on
ninety seven point one was Chef ninety seven point one
wash CHEFM. It's Toby and Chilly in the morning. I
am Chilli, Amar and Toby. Nap is out today, but
we're still going to share a quote to get you
into a good headspace our Morning Mindset on this Monday,
and I really wanted to look for a quote that
sort of highlighted unity, especially as we go into an

(05:13):
election tomorrow. Henry Ford says, coming together is a beginning,
staying together is progress, and working together is success. So
the first step is to gather a group of people
who share your common purpose, right and then after you
form the group, the next challenge is to maintain the
unity over time, building trust, getting that commitment going, navigating

(05:35):
challenges together. And then finally, true success comes when the
group operates as a cohesive team where you combine your
strengths and overcome your differences and work toward your shared goals.
So again, Henry Ford says, coming together is a beginning,
staying together is progress, and working together is success. And

(05:56):
you can find that quote or share your own using
has to use hashtag Morning Mindset on the Toby and
Chili page at washefm dot com. Now coming up in
just a few minutes, we're going to get you up
to speed on everything going on in Hollywood showbiz buzz.
Quincy Jones. Yes, the multi talented music titan who has

(06:16):
a vast legacy, absolutely amazing work he's done, he passed away.
We've got more on that in just a few minutes,
as Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues on ninety
seven point one wash F. It is Monday, November fourth.
Welcome to Toby and Chilly in the Morning on ninety
seven point one wash FM. I'm Chiliamar. Toby Napp is

(06:37):
out today, but it is now time for your showbiz buzz.
Quincy Jones, the multi talented music titan whose vast legacy
ranged from producing Michael Jackson's historic thriller album to writing
prize winning film and television scores, has died at the
age of ninety one. His publicist says he died at
his home last night, surrounded by family. James Van Derbeek

(07:00):
revealed that he is badly colo rectal cancer. He told
People magazine that quote, there's reason for optimism and I'm
feeling good. Margot Robbie is a new mom. She reportedly
gave birth to her first child with her husband Tom
Ackerley over the Weekend. Former NFL star Jason Kelsey he
confronted a person in a crowd at Penn State after

(07:22):
a homophobic slur was directed at his brother Travis. In response,
Jason grabbed the person's phone, through it to the ground
in anger. Oprah just revealed her Oprah's Favorite Things list
just in time for the holidays. This year, one hundred
and sixteen gifts make the annual list. That is more
than the one hundred and twelve from last year. There

(07:44):
are several affordable items with prices ranging anywhere from twelve
dollars up to eighteen hundred dollars for a fancy espresso
machine and a Christmas classic, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer
is leaving CBS for NBC. The stop motion film is
going back to NBC, which actually premiered the film sixty
years ago. If you want to watch the classic, it'll

(08:04):
be on NBC Friday, December sixth. And that is your
show biz buzz now coming up. We're gonna get you
updated on all the news headlines with Toby and Chilly's
Top Stories on ninety seven point one wash FF.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
Top Stories.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
Top of the outpoles are showing a tight race just
ahead of the presidential election tomorrow. The final NBC newspool
released yesterday chose Vice President Harris and former President Trump
locked in a dead heat. Meanwhile, new fencing is up
around various locations in DC as securities being beefed up
ahead of election Day. Fencing went up around the White House,

(08:41):
the US capital, and Vice President Harris's home, and plans
are also in place for security measures outside the Florida
Convention Center, where former President Trump's going to be hosting
an event tomorrow night. A young girl is in the
hospital after a shooting in Prince George's county. This happened yesterday.
The girl alleged used an unsecured firearm to shoot herself.

(09:03):
The Washington Commanders are off to their best start to
the NFL season in nearly thirty years. They up their
record to seven and two yesterday with a twenty seven
to twenty two road wind over the New York Giants.
The Commanders will host the Steelers next. A recent report
analyzed which states would be best equipped to handle an

(09:23):
alien invasion. Hey good news, Virginia tops the list on
the alien survival scale because of strong military presence and
an abundance of forests and caves. Now the state least
likely to resist alien invasion is Nevada because of a
lack of natural cover and water along with those high
UFO sightings. Forecast for today, it's going to be cloudy later.

(09:45):
I's around sixty five right now, though it's thirty nine
degrees in Oakton. Coming up next. Okay, when was the
last time you stepped way out of your comfort zone
for your kids? Well, it happened to me over the
weekend and I'm still shaking from the experience. I'll tell
you exactly what went down over the weekend as Toby
and Chilly in the Morning continues on nineties seven point

(10:06):
one wash uf When was the last time you stepped
out of your comfort zone for your kids? It's Toby
and Chilly in the Morning on ninety seven point one
wash f M. I'm Chiliamar here with Mike Klein, who's
in for Toby naps. So over the weekend we went
to Great Wolf Lodge in Perryville, Maryland, and we've been
to that location. They opened last year and we love
going there. They have an indoor ropes course. Oh, I

(10:27):
didn't know this, Yes, and it's pretty darn high up, okay, God,
And if you don't know, this is where you're harnessed
and you have to navigate certain obstacles.

Speaker 4 (10:38):
It's good to be harnessed though, it's protection.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
Well yeah, because falling from that, yeah, you wouldn't be
live or priorized. So it's an obstacle course, and that
not everything that you try to cross is stable, like
you're teeter tottering, and you know, you have to like
have a lot of strength and balance. And my son,
who's afraid of well, was afraid of heights. My eleven

(11:03):
year old said he wanted to try it, and we
had a cousin that came with us, and so they
all convinced us to do it. So all four of
us are up there, my husband, me, my son, and
my cousin. And about the third or fourth obstacle, I'm
already cursing under my breath. I cannot believe I am
up here. I do not like this one bit. It's
one thing to be afraid for yourself, but now I'm

(11:24):
also watching my.

Speaker 4 (11:25):
Son, oh man, like almost loses.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
Balance many times, and I just the anxiety of that
alone was just Oh. So finally there's one area you
can exit. I got the hell out after the second.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
Level, third level, there's a thigh level.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
He decides to keep going.

Speaker 4 (11:47):
He did.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
My cousin's like, I'll be with him, don't worry. He
was scared of heights. He used to be and suddenly
he's superman. He would get to the platform after crossing
a certain obstacle and really jump up and down joy Like.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
I'm like, don't jop.

Speaker 1 (12:04):
You did great.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
Just just just just calm down. Anyway, he felt like
he climbed a mountain. His confidence is through the roof.
For that, I'm happy. What I'm not happy about? Yes,
we have to do all these indoor ropes courses around here.

Speaker 4 (12:19):
There's now not in our area.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
Oh don't remind me.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
Toby and Chilly's nearly impossible question.

The Secret Service is also planning similar arrangements at the

was then arrested for felony charges placed in Loudon County.
Two men are facing charges in northern Virginia after a
police investigation into a street race involving a Tesla, cyber truck,
and Lamborghini. Police a The driver of the cyber truck

(15:15):
turned himself in Friday, while officers arrested the driver of
the Lamborghini on the same day. The race along Route

since nineteen ninety six, the Washington Commanders are seven and
two for the season. They defeated the New York Giants

(15:37):
yesterday twenty seven to twenty two. And sadly, Grammy Award
winning record producer Quincy Jones has died at the age

like a Tiger King's Joe Exotic met his new love
while he was behind bars. We're gonna get to your
calls and stories as Toby and Chilly in the Morning
continues on ninety seven point one wash F. Where is

(16:42):
the most unusual place you met a romantic partner? Eight
six six nine two seven four to three six one
is the number to call. It's Toby and Chilly in
the Morning on ninety seven point one wash FM. I'm Chiliamar,
Toby Nap is out, Mike Klein is here for Toby.
We also have producer Shay Taylor Shay in the room,
and I want to know from you guys because Joe Exotic,

(17:05):
remember the Tiger King, Yeah, yeah, he apparently just met
the love of his life while he was behind bars.
Another of course you did right right now, that's a
crazy place to meet somebody that you're in a relationship with.
And if he can meet somebody in prison and fall
in love, maybe there's hope for the rest of us
in the regular world. But if you had to look
back at all the people that you've dated, Mike, where's

(17:26):
the most unusual place that you've met somebody?

Speaker 3 (17:28):
I met this girl when I was in line at
the wah Wah one time. I talked to her for
like I was ticking forever to cash out, and we
talked for like five minutes, and I asked her for
a number and she gave it to me, and you
guys went out, Yeah, went out a couple.

Speaker 2 (17:40):
Days's very nice, Okay, Taylor, what about you?

Speaker 5 (17:42):
I met my husband at a job interview your husband two.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
Thousand and nine.

Speaker 5 (17:47):
I had a job interview here at iHeartRadio, and ironically
enough to work with Toby the first time fifteen years ago.
And after the interview, Toby walked me down the hall
and he said, well, this is a union position, so
I'm going to interview you to Darren Marshall.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
He's our shop steward. If you have questions about the union,
oh you married the shop steward Mary, You're smart, very nice.

Speaker 4 (18:07):
How about you?

Speaker 2 (18:09):
This is not my husband, But years years ago, I
was going to Union Station to catch a train and
there was a limo driver with a sign waiting for
a passenger. We made eye contact, we started talking, he
asked me out, and we went out. Just once or twice.
We had a meet cute, but nothing beyond that. No,
he didn't sweep me off my feet in a limo

(18:29):
and drive me off into the sunset. Nothing ever can.

Speaker 4 (18:32):
There was this passenger. What happened with that? I don't know.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
I'm guessing you I got on a train and he
took a passenger somewhere else.

Speaker 4 (18:39):
I'm kidding.

Speaker 2 (18:40):
Eight six y six wash FM the number one. If
you want to jump into this conversation, we'll get to
your calls about the most unusual place you've met a
romantic partner. But first we want to share a story
that we think will make your Monday. This comes to
us from a teenager in Montgomery County who raised money
for a charity by scaring people. That is on the

(19:04):
way as Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues on
ninety seven point one, WASHEFV? It's Toby and Chilly in
the morning on ninety seven point one wash CHEFM. I
Am Chili AMR. Toby Nap is out today. But as
we do every Monday around this time, we like to
share a story to make your Monday something that is
local and heartwarming. And I saw this story and I

(19:25):
thought it was amazing. So there's a teenager and Quin's
Orchard High School senior. His name is Trent Metler, and
he's always been a huge fan of Halloween and what
he does every year is creates this haunted trail in
the woods right next to his home in North Potomac. Okay, well,
that's great, But even though the trail is free, a

(19:49):
Trent asks people to make a donation, a canned food
donation for the man of Food Center, and the trail
has become this local tradition and they have gathered hun
undreds of pounds of food from Manna over the years,
and Trent says it's one of the most rewarding aspects
of the project. Trent actually got really into Halloween and

(20:09):
was inspired by visits to places like Field of Screams
and Only and other Halloween events, so that he and
his friends were like, Okay, let's do this and let's
do it at a trail near the house, and people
really look forward to it every year. If you're one
of the lucky ones to go. He does it Halloween
and then also on Friday and Saturday, and people who

(20:30):
walk through it's about ten to fifteen minute walk, they
are met with some fun horror and the trail has actors, noises,
the whole shebang. I mean, they really put a lot
of work into this. It costs them a lot of
money to put together. But what I love about the
story and why it makes our Monday, is because you've
got a teenager who took a passion of his and
turned it into something fun but also something that gives

(20:53):
back to the community. And for that we say thank
you to Trent. And if you've got a story that
you think is heartwarming right out of the DMV, we
would love to hear about it. Please share it on
the Toby and Chili page at washchefm dot com. And
coming up in just a few minutes, we are going
to get you up to speed on all the news

Speaker 2 (24:11):
What happened.

Speaker 1 (24:12):
I was reaching for a book on a highshelf and
they offered to help me get it down, and we
just started talking about our favorite authors right away and
it just clicked.

Speaker 2 (24:19):
Katrina, that is so romantic. I really hope the two
of you lived happily ever after. Uh, Kevin in Germantown,
unusual place you met someone? Go ahead.

Speaker 4 (24:30):
I met my wife in the emergency room.

Speaker 1 (24:32):
I was there because I got something in my eye.

Speaker 4 (24:34):
And she was there with a sprained ankle. We met
in the waiting room and have just been together ever since.

Speaker 2 (24:39):
Kevin, that is perfect because when you guys got married
and you got to the vows where you said in
sickness and in health, you know you meant it because
after where it all began.
