Toby and Chili Mornings on Demand on ninety seven point
one Washout.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Hello there, I'm Toby, not along with chiliamhar and I
left the ice packs at home this morning. But hey,
it's nice to be back in this comfortable studio. I
just need to remember to stand more often. Ninety seven
point one wash FM. You've got Toby and Chilly in
the morning. Chilly, why are you feeling good on this
Tuesday morning, this election day morning.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
I'm glad I already voted a long time ago and
I don't have to deal with it today. And other
than that, it's really tough because I'm feeling some sort
of anxious about the aftermath regardless of what happens.

Speaker 4 (00:34):
And that's my honest truth. That's my truth.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
I'll tell you that I was just so over everything
in life and feeling just exhausted and whatever after a
very long weekend. I will tell you that last night
I found joy in watching Hallmark.

Speaker 4 (00:50):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
It's this Smiths movie about some girls who some young
women who who I guess, were in some town where
everything is related to Christmas twenty four to seven, and
their car broke down on the side of the road
and old mister Chris Kringle came to help fix the car,
and therein the Shenanigans become a foot. See is Hallmark

(01:13):
takes your mind off of the stress and drama of life.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
And you know soon enough, we too will helpfully help
people take their mind off of things with our Christmas music.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
I owe my significant other for these Hallmark Christmas movies.
You she loves all things Christmas. She's Christmas started for
her before Halloween, and so you know, I found myself
just like actually I turned on the TV and it
was the last thing she was watching, and she was
the last person to watch it at the house. And
I'm like, this actually looks interesting. It's not the news.
I think I'm gonna watch this.

Speaker 4 (01:46):
I know you might have to watch some more Hallmark
movies tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
I don't know. I'm thinking I might sleep tonight. My
body keeps telling me just calm down.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
Oh yes, And if you show up for work in
pajamas tomorrow, I guess we can be forgiving.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Yeah, absolutely, especially when you have a good reason for
it too. It's called you can't put normal clothes on
because it hurts. Anyway, We're Toby and Chilly in the morning.
We'll talk about these pajamas and what people think about
wearing pj's out in public, to work, to social events
and more. That's on the way in minutes. Good morning, DC,
Happy election there. I don't know if you saw this

(02:21):
story about crocs getting banned in schools. Crocs, some people say,
are like pajamas ninety seven point one washfm 're Toby
and Chilly in the morning, but they are part of
a company ensemble, which starts a larger conversation about pajamas.
Since the lockdown, people have become more forgiving about wearing
pajamas out to do different things, whether it's work or

(02:43):
life errands. And some of these pgs, some of these
outfits are pretty expensive. So to me, if a Balenciaga
makes some pajamas, you can wear that wherever you want
because it's Balenciaga, and you probably don't care anyway what
anyone else thinks.

Speaker 4 (02:56):
Well, I mean Balenciaga or not.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
If you look like you rolled out of I think
you should make a little bit of effort if you're
going to be truly out in public or at work.
It's one thing to be in the car line at school,
picking up your kids. It's another thing to be running
around town.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Now that's you, and I'm sure you're not alone, Katie
and Rockville. Is it okay for you to wear pajamas out?
I mean, you know, comfort's a thing to consider. What
are your thoughts, ma'am. It depends on where you're going
in public.

Speaker 4 (03:22):
Like work.

Speaker 5 (03:22):
Definitely not work.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
I would say maybe to Walmart, but even not kind of.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Happy yes, but have you seen some of the websites
that have to do with people at Walmart? Okay, you're
lucky if you get them in pajamas, Xander, good morning
in Fairfax. Thoughts. It is two hundred percent appropriate to
wear pajamas anywhere in the world. They are so comfortable
and if you don't live a comfortable lifestyle, you're wasting
your life. Not a sermon, just a thought from Xander.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
I mean that's that's pretty absolute, wasting your life. That's right,
you got thoughts on pajamas? Are you wasting your life
wearing pajamas to work? Right now? Much like Xander just
alluded to, eight six, six, nine, seven, forty three sixty
one is the number of talkbacks also wide open for you?

point one wash FM Toby and Chilli in the morning
and it's time for your morning mindset. Now why is

(04:29):
it your morning mindset? Because we hope to plant a seed.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
And put you into a really good headspace as you
start a new day.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
With a quote America's poet Lauriate Maya Angelo, who says,
rise up, start fresh, and be brave enough to see
what the day holds for you. That's pretty powerful when
you think about it. It's an election day today. Maybe
stuff in life has gone sideways for you personally. Maybe
you've realized you're not in control of certain things that

(04:55):
you thought maybe you were in control of, only to
realize you weren't. That doesn't mean that you have to
go full stop. That means rise up today. Yesterday's a memory,
now it happened behind you, Start fresh, be brave enough
to see what the day holds for you. Maya Angelo
with your morning mindset today and if you need it,

(05:16):
share it. You'll find it at Toby and Chilipage washfm
dot com. On the way sim Edder Tamman News, we
call it Shoby's buzz. What's up?

Speaker 3 (05:22):
Olivia Rodrigo says, she asks a very specific question on
First States to find out whether she'll go out with
them again.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
We'll share what it is.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
In entertainment news time. Here a ninety seven point one
WASHCHEFM with Toby and Chilly in the morning. We call
it Sholby's Buzz. What's going on this morning?

two Mega mentors in a single season. Singh's going to
be working with coaches Snoop Dogg and Gwen Stefani, while
Jennifer teams up with Michael Boublay and Reba McIntyre. Olivia
Rodrigo revealed which oddly specific question she asks on first date.
She says, do you think you would want to go

(06:19):
to space? Olivia says if they say yes, well I
don't date them. She says it's because I just think
if you want to go to space, you're a little
too full of yourself. Jason Kelsey has apologized for spiking
up Penn State student's phone on the pavement after that
student used a gay slur against Jason's brother Travis. During

(06:40):
Jason's appearance on ESPN's Monday Night football pregame show, he
said quote, I'm not happy with anything that took place
within a heated moment. I chose to greet hate with hate,
and I don't think that's productive. And finally, Eddie Murphy
going to be playing music icon George Clinton in an
upcoming biopick. He's also set to his role as a

(07:01):
don Key in Shrek five, which is going to be
coming out July twenty twenty six. And that's your show Businuzz.

stories at the top of the hour. That's on the way.
Give us like twenty minutes, all right, round six ninety

Speaker 6 (07:21):
Stories top of the hour.

Speaker 4 (07:22):
Well, it is election day.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
Polls are opening in DC and Maryland at seven this
morning until eight pm, while polling places in Virginia opened
at six and they'll be open until seven pm. DC
officials are of course getting ready for any potential election
violence by adding manpower and putting the city on alert.
Police Chief Paneli Smith says the city's Joint Operations Center

(07:44):
is going to be activated this morning, with some helicopters
and drones used to monitor some key areas. Officers are
going to be working twelve hour shifts making sure police
presence at some ballot boxes, polling places, and other locations.

Speaker 4 (07:58):
Meanwhile, DC Mayor Muriel.

Speaker 3 (07:59):
Bows also said the city's going to be bringing in
thousands of police officers from around the country on Inauguration
Day itself, and will also request help from the National Guard.
In other news, that Boeing strike is over. Workers voted
yesterday to accept the airplane manufacturer's latest offer, which ends
the most expensive US strike in a quarter century. It

(08:21):
gives workers a forty three percent raise over four years,
but it does not include the return of pension plan,
which was a sticking point in previous offers. And yes,
because it is election day, a lot of businesses are
celebrating the vote with some giveaways and discounts on food
and warm For example, Krispy Kreme offering free glazed donut
lift and Uber offering discounted rides for voters. We've got

(08:44):
a list of all those goodies on the Toby and
chilipage at washfm dot com. A forecast for today partly cloudy,
very warm is in the mid seventies right now, fifty
one in Riverdale.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
All right, stay there, because tramp will not just for
kids anymore. You'll find out why jump therapy is a thing.
I don't know that it's a thing, but just made
that whole jump therapy phrase up. But there are some benefits.
Tell you what they are coming up in a few
and why hang up.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Keby and Chilly's nearly impossible.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
Question Pentatonics tickets up for grabs. The question this morning.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
Is nearly twenty percent of people will leave the house
with this accessory, but they'll never use it.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
What are we talking?

Speaker 2 (09:31):
And there's Kevin in Silver Spring with a guest. Kevin,
good morning. Go ahead, tell us what you think.

Speaker 5 (09:36):
Hey hear, I think I know. For me, it's my
gym bag with my workout clothes.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
You need that gym bag with your workout clothes.

Speaker 5 (09:43):
Well, I need to feel like I'm going to use it.
I think the last time I use it was April.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
So it's still sitting in the backseat of your.

Speaker 5 (09:49):
Car, exactly. Sometimes I move it to the floor of
the pump seat.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
The ambitious not gonna judge you at all, sir, You're
clearly not alone because yeah, nearly twenty percent of the
people do leave the house with a gym bag and
never use it.

Speaker 5 (10:03):
Oh excellent.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
That makes me feel better, and these Pentatonics tickets should
feel pretty good too. Congratulations, you're going thanks to Live Nation.

Speaker 5 (10:10):
Oh fantastic. Thank you all very much.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
Enjoy the show, and thanks for playing your nearly impossible
question this morning on ninety seven point one watch chef.

Speaker 5 (10:18):
M all right, thank you, have a great day.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
I'm righty, Kevin, hang on the line right there, and
if you want to go see Pentatonics, be here tomorrow
right around six twenty maybe six twenty five, somewhere in
that window, and we'll hook you up with another chance
to play and win your nearly impossible question and Pentatonics tickets.
This week The News on the Way, Next, hang.

Speaker 6 (10:36):
Out, Top Stories, Top of the Hour.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
The polls in DC, Maryland, and Virginia are now all open,
holding places in Virginia are closing at seven, while in
DC and Maryland they close at eight. Meanwhile, DC police
are reminding drivers that no fewer than eighteen side streets
around Howard University campus are off limits to vehicles. Extra
security measures taken ahead of today's Harris Walls election night

(11:03):
event on the Yard. A Philadelphia judge has rejected a
request to halt Elon Musk's America Packs, a million dollar
giveaway to registered Swing state voters, which already has distributed
seventeen million dollars across the Swing states. Musk's attorney revealed
that those winners were actually pre selected, contrary to claims

(11:26):
of a random selection. A Utah senator is considering a
possible roadblock for a bill that could let DC build
a new stadium for the Washington Commanders. Now DC officials
have been working to pass a bill that would let
the city lease the old RFK Stadium site for ninety
nine years in exchange for clean up and redevelopment, but
Republican Senator Mike Lee is thinking about introducing an amendment

(11:48):
to force the city to pay fair market value for
any land use to build a sports stadium on the
RFK site. And according to a recent survey, thirty seven
percent of couples sleep in steps when they go on vacation,
one in five travelers enjoy staying in bed all day,
and half of respondents don't set an alarm on vacation.

(12:10):
Fore cast for today, it's gonna be nice Partley, cloudy.
High's in the mid seventies right now, though it is
fifty degrees in Springfield.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
Did you see this on the Internet of Things over
the last week or so. There's a guy and Japan
has got quite the side hustle as a rental friend
a friend for hire? Do you think you could make
a good friend for hire? What does that even mean?
You'll find out We've got everything you need to know,
and well, of course get your take on it, because

(12:38):
we love hearing from you. At ninety seven point one
wash FM. The numbers eight sixty six, nine two, seven,
forty three sixty What if you can't wait and you
just need to jump in now we'll talk about it
coming up. So jump therapy is a thing. Ninety seven
point one WASHFM, Toby and Chilly in the morning. Now, Chile,
can you explain to us what this jump therapy you've
discovered is all about? How did it happen? And tell

(13:00):
us all of the things this Tuesday morning.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
You know those mini trampolines that some people have in
their homes. It's a great exercise and we've known that
for a minute. And my son has ADHD, so we
bought him one to work out his willies when he
gets a little over stimulated. It's a good way to
regulate him.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
Sure.

Speaker 3 (13:18):
Well, I had some serious anxiety last week, like really bad,
and normally I'll go upstairs to my room, lock the
door and have a good cry, or take a shower
and have a good cry. But I thought I'm going
to try something different. I went downstairs and I started
to jump around, jump around, like jumped on that trampoline

(13:39):
for like five minutes and it worked. It got me
out of my headspace in that moment, and it helped
sort of calm things down and regulated me. So now
I'm just sneaking to the basement jump on a trampoline.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
Seeing here, I thought maybe you saw some video or
some commercial. I think that's what my mom did when
we were kids, because she had one of those round,
little trampolines, the indoor kind. They're not huge, they're not
at the backyard trampoline, and uh, we kind of co
opted it, me and my three brothers. But now it
makes sense. My mom got that trampoline not for exercise,

(14:16):
but because she needed to distress as a mom of
four boys.

Speaker 4 (14:19):
That's exactly she was ahead of the times.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
She knew the benefits way before we all did.

Speaker 4 (14:25):
Absolutely.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
So if anyone knows what we can get one of
these trampolines, I'd like to go pick it up. I
don't want to wait on Amazon to deliver it. Feel
free to call eight sixty six ninety two seven forty
three sixty one. We're Toby and Chilly in the morning.
It's ninety seven point one wash FM. You might need
that number right now.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
Toby and Chili's nearly impossible.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
Question and the question this morning is nearly twenty percent
of people will leave the house with this accessory today
and never use it?

Speaker 4 (14:53):
What is it?

Speaker 2 (14:54):
Eight six, six, nine two, seven forty three sixty one
call now thanks to Live Nation, Eagle Bank Arena, you
Pentatonics a friend. It's November twenty first. If you want
to go call now. Here's the question again.

Speaker 3 (15:08):
Nearly twenty percent of people will leave the house with
this accessory today and never use it.

Speaker 4 (15:13):
What is it?

Speaker 2 (15:13):
So call now, get it right and win and we'll
all learn something together. And that's the point. And giving
you free stuff too. It's your nearly impossible question for
Tuesday election Day and it's on Keby.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
And Chilly's Nearly Impossible Question.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
Pentatonics tickets up for grabs. The question this morning is.

Speaker 3 (15:33):
Nearly twenty percent of people will leave the house with
this accessory, but they'll never use it.

Speaker 4 (15:39):
What are we talking about?

Speaker 2 (15:40):
There's Kevin and silver Spring with a guest Kevin, good morning,
Go ahead, tell us what you think.

Speaker 5 (15:45):
Hey here, I think I know. For me, it's my

You need that gym bag with your workout clothes.

Speaker 5 (15:52):
Well, I need to feel like I'm going to use it.
I think the last time I use it.

(18:01):
According to a recent survey, ninety percent of workers want
what's called a right to disconnect law like they have
in some other countries, to save them from all the
after hours communications. The survey found that fifty two percent
of people spend three hours or more on work emails
every day, and nearly eighty percent say they feel a

(18:21):
sense of dread when they open their inbox. Forecast for
today it's gonna be nice, mix the clouds and sun
eyes around seventy seven. Right now it's fifty two in Alexandria, and.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
That's the news for this election day. Morning. We're Toby
and Chilly in the morning at ninety seven point one.
Watch chef them coming up next. Could you hand me
that ice pack?

Speaker 4 (18:40):
Yes, yeah, you seem very sore. Now.

Speaker 3 (18:43):
Before you left, you weren't sure whether you were going
to be able to complete walking the five k in Disney.

Speaker 4 (18:49):
We need to know did you finish well.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
We'll talk about it coming up in just a few
Does anybody know if they make ice packs they're like
ankle specific or maybe like legs specific, because I need
one of each. Toby and Chilly in the morning, it's
ninety seven point one wash FM and eight sixty six
nine two seven forty three sixty.

Speaker 4 (19:08):
One Okay, so we're all waiting to find out.

Speaker 3 (19:10):
I know before you left you were worried about whether
you were going to be able to complete a five
k at Disney, whether your body was going to allow
you to walk it without pain.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
Well there was pain.

Speaker 6 (19:23):
Oh No.

Speaker 2 (19:24):
I finished the race, which in itself was a win.
But I will tell you that I'm still feeling this morning,
aches and pains in places I didn't know I could
feel eggs and pains. And that leads me to the
biggest discovery that I made that I would share with you.
If you're thinking about the run culture or if you're
in the run culture, I have new respect for you
today and respect for the word training.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
Okay, so did you not train as much because you
were walking this and you thought, oh, that shouldn't be
that hard and you were sadly mistaken?

Speaker 2 (19:53):
Yes? Absolutely, I thought to myself, oh five k is
three and a half miles. We just did that. For
Susan G.

Speaker 4 (20:02):
Coleman, what do you think made this walk different? Why
was your body so mad at you?

Speaker 2 (20:06):
Because of everything's my body's still going through. I knew
that I wasn't one hundred percent healthy when I agreed
to do this. My body reminded me that it's still
got some stuff it's got to clear up when it
comes to the cellulitis on my leg, pain in my back,
and now there's something going on with my shins on
my right leg out of my left leg. So I'm
just a mess. Does anybody have some motron?

Speaker 3 (20:28):
How did you feel, not physically but emotionally when you've
crossed that line?

Speaker 2 (20:33):
Emotionally, I felt relieved, and then I felt better, like, Okay,
I've done this for the first time. Now everything else
is downhill because they say sometimes you just have to
do it for the first time. And I think the
great intangibles here that I had my significant other around
me and it was part of a run Disney thing,
so I'm there around all these people who are super runners.

(20:54):
Oh yes, felt a little intimidated. Like truth insecurity, I
can put you in a paralysis to where you don't
want to do anything and suddenly your yourself sick.

Speaker 3 (21:03):
What also happens is once you do one, now you
want to do another? Is there another one in the
books for you to train for this?

Speaker 2 (21:10):
Let me heal from this one first?
