You with whatever you're going through before you get out
of bed this morning, or as you.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
Just start moving on this Wednesday.
Speaker 5 (02:16):
And what is the quote that's gonna hopefully help us all?
Speaker 2 (02:19):
To that from William arthur Ward who says opportunities are
like sunrises.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
If you wait too long, you miss them.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
You know it's true, the sun will rise today, the
sun will set tonight, then tomorrow it'll begin again, and
you have new opportunities that come every time the sun
comes up if you have the will to seize them.
But if you wait too long, the opportunity is gonna
pass you by. I have a colleague and a former
(02:49):
boss who used to say, if you wait for an opportunity,
it's not gonna ever come. If you wait for an invitation,
it's never gonna come. Don't wait too long, you'll miss
that opportunity. That is like a sunrise arthur Ward this morning.
If that helped you, or maybe it spoke to you,
you want to print it out and tape it somewhere
so you can look at it today or send it
to a friend. You'll find it to tell me at
chili page washfm dot com. That is your morning mindset

Jason Kelsey could be facing a couple of misdemeanor charges
over that run in with a football fan. We've got
the details on the way fix it and they're like,
it'll be cheaper just to buy a new one. Ooh yeah,
that should not have been a DIY situation.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
Oh no, in Silver Spring, just across the DC line, Teresa,
what happened?
Speaker 6 (03:41):
Oh my gosh, waxing. I tried to wax my mustache
once and it hurts, got irritated. I ended up like
getting pimples there. It was a nightmare. Just go to
the professional, or better yet, just leave it alone. Just
leave it alone.
Speaker 4 (03:56):
That's right, Teresa. Rock that stash and be proud of
your fuzzy upper lip.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
Although you're absolutely right as somebody who goes regularly to
a barber who's skilled at these things. Because I've tried
to do it myself and screwed it up. Don't skimp
on the pros when it comes to your face, though,
because you only have one face.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
And you have to live with whatever you do for
a while.
Speaker 2 (04:15):

Jason Kelsey could be facing a couple of misdemeanor charges
over that run in with a football fan.
Speaker 5 (04:50):

He got into it with a heckler at Penn State
who called his brother Travis a homophobic slur. Jase and
grabbed the man's phone and slammed it to the ground,
destroying it. Bruce Springsteen made a visit to the movie
set of the forthcoming film based on parts of his
music career, Deliver Me from Nowhere, That's the name of
the movie. While he was there, the Boss met up
(05:14):
with actor Jeremy Allen White, who is portraying him in
the biopic, and also shared words of encouragement for Jeremy.
Martha Stewart described Ryan Reynolds as not so funny in
real life recently well, a source close to Ryan told
TMZ he's quiet in real life because of anxiety and
he doesn't always feel the need to always be on.
(05:35):
Ryan and Martha have only met twice, maybe once, but
the source feels that it isn't enough to really reveal
his true personality. And Kevin Jonas Senior, you know Jonas
Brother's dad.
Speaker 5 (05:49):
He is releasing his first album for Christmas. It's called
Ready Set Glow, a holiday collection. It's coming out November eighth.
The album is actually a family project, teach vocals from
his wife Denise, and there's even a song co written
with Nick Jonas on it that Nick wrote when he
was only nine years old. And that is your show
biz buzz all right.
Speaker 3 (06:09):

despite being arrested for federal bribery charges earlier.
Speaker 5 (07:11):
This year.
Speaker 4 (07:12):
A man was arrested at the US Capitol Building yesterday
after trying to enter with items including a flare gun, lighters,
and two bottles of suspected accelerant. A police stopped him
at the Visitors Center entrance, saying that he smelled like gasoline.
And March madness coming to DC. The Atlantic ten will

have much shorter road trips. Forecasts for today man another
very warm day, partly cloudy, breezy, eighty two the expected
high right now sixty one in Capitol Heights.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
And there's your news that we call top stories at
Stop the Hour with Toby and Chilly in the morning,
A ninety seven point one WASCHEFM wh's the last time
you paid with cash for something people still do and
our producer Taylor Shae had an interesting observation while paying
with cash recently. What was the observation You'll find out
in minutes. So stay with Toby and Chill in the morning.
(08:15):
And by the way, if you have any thoughts on
paying with cash or credit or both or neither. Eight
sixty six nine two seven forty three sixty one. You
always have a voice with Toby and Chili in the morning,
feel free to use it. It comes producer Taylor's Shay
with Toby and Chilly in the Morning. It's ninety seven
point one Watch FM.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
Taylor.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
I understand you saw something while you were paying with
cash recently that you wanted to bring into the room
because it made you go, hmm, please tell us everything.
Speaker 7 (08:40):
Well, it's happened twice actually in the last four or
five weeks. I have some spending vices, so I started
paying for some things with cash, and when I have
they didn't know how to count the change back. Now,
I know that a lot of registers will say the
change is seven dollars and thirty six cents, but they
didn't know how to distribute the thirty six cents in coins.
Speaker 4 (09:03):
So they're just staring there at the tray, going, oh,
how do I do this?
Speaker 5 (09:07):
Because so, what do you do this? I had to
tell them how to make thirty six cents?
Speaker 3 (09:12):
Taylor, Here's how I'd like my change. Are you kidding me?
Speaker 7 (09:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (09:17):
Three of those two of those and one of these.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
That is what I did? Is that what it's come
to now?
Speaker 4 (09:22):
Because I don't pay, you know, in cash, I just
just wipe a credit card. Now, I'm tempted to see
if I come across that too. Our managers not like
at least pop quizzing cashiers. I guess I wouldn't even
think to do it, because you make an assumption that
they know how to give back whatever the amount the
screen is showing.
Speaker 7 (09:41):
Well, And I didn't want to make them feel stupid either.
I was just like, Okay, here's the coins that I need,
thank you, And I like, I wasn't rude about it
because they don't know what they don't know.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
But why don't they know, Toby, Because we've allowed technology
to do way too many things for us that we
should be doing for ourselves. I am the biggest technologist
I know. I love to be on the cutting out
of technology that does stuff for you and makes life easier.
But there are some basic things you need to be
basically simple about. Show money is one of them.
Speaker 5 (10:10):
Were they can I ask what age range?
Speaker 4 (10:12):
Early twenties for sure, So your daughter is getting close
to that age.
Speaker 5 (10:16):
Do you think your daughter would know how to distribute coins.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
I would hope, But the answer is maybe no. And
the reason I say that is because I've seen that
befuddled look. It's like you can't just put it into
your phone and have your phone tell you what to do.
Speaker 5 (10:29):
This is not okay, man, this is scary.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
No, it's a sign of the times. Well I can do, man,
So I was fine.
Speaker 4 (10:37):
No, one's gonna the next generation is gonna be sitting
there going.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
Sometimes you've got to know certain fundamental things that you
can't have a computer do for you if you're going
to get by in this life.
Speaker 3 (10:48):
They call it street smarts.
Speaker 5 (10:50):
Well, thankfully you didn't take advantage of their ignorance. I
was honest.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
Yeah, Shelby and Chili's nearly impossible question.
Speaker 7 (10:57):
It is.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
With that question for these Pentatonics tots.
Speaker 4 (11:00):
Almost twenty percent of people say they don't use this
hygiene product on a regular basis.
Speaker 3 (11:06):
What is it live nation making it happen for you?
Speaker 2 (11:09):
Pentatonic Seagle Bank Arena tickets could be yours if you
can answer that question. Eight six, six, nine two seven
forty three sixty one. That's eight sixty six wash FM
the number one. Here's the question again.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
Almost twenty percent of people say they don't use this
hygiene product on a regular basis.
Speaker 5 (11:25):
What is it?
Speaker 2 (11:26):
If you think you know the answer, call now, well,
I'll learn something together and you could win these tickets
to see Pentatonics Eagle Bank Arena on the twenty first
of November. Thank you, Live Nation, Call now the game
is on. It's your nearly impossible question for this Wednesday.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
Kelby and Chilli's nearly impossible question.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
Good morning, Mike and Waldorf. How you doing? I'm doing well.
How about yourself today?
Speaker 2 (11:49):
Good? It's a brand new day. Always a day to
be very perpetually optimistic, if you know.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
What I mean.
Speaker 2 (11:56):
Absolutely all right, Well welcome, you're playing the game right now.
Are you ready to take these tickets to see Pentatonics?
Speaker 1 (12:03):
Yes, I am.
Speaker 4 (12:04):
Almost twenty percent of people say they don't use this
hygiene product on a regular basis.
Speaker 5 (12:10):
What are we talking about?
Speaker 6 (12:12):
I would say deodorant, but I hope I'm wrong.
Speaker 3 (12:15):
Smell you later, sir. You're putting you on today? Yes,
I did.
Speaker 4 (12:20):
Do we think that if that's the answer that twenty
percent of people are forgetting to or choosing.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
Not to, well, I teach in middle school and it's
about one hundred percent of them. I'm saying absolutely nothing
is one of those middle schoolers, because that might have
been the choice when made and you didn't want to
smell that stuff I was wearing then that was oh god,
my men and speedstick.
Speaker 5 (12:43):
Oh at least you were something back in the day.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
Yeah, but it smelled like my dad.
Speaker 4 (12:48):
Oh god, Mike, deodorant is not only a great guess,
it's the correct answer.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
Congrats, Yay, thank you so much.
Speaker 3 (12:56):
So put on some cologning and going joy tonics.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
All right, well, thank you so much.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
You both have a wonderful day.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
I said cologne because honestly, cologne smells to me better
than deodorant.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
But hey, hello, spot more that's true. But who's smelling well? Congratulations, enjoy,
thank you, I have a great day.
Speaker 7 (13:15):
Man by you too.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
Hang on right there, more tickets tomorrow morning, another round
of your kneeling impossible question.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
And the news is on the way in a few minutes.
With Toby and Chilly in the morning. On this Wednesday,
November sixth, the CS stay close.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
Top stories top of the hour.
Speaker 4 (13:30):
Looks like former President Trump is headed back to the
White House with Pennsylvania. Going his way, the former president
essentially sealed the election overnight he spoke to his supporters
in Florida. Meanwhile, Vice President Harris chose not to address
supporters last night and instead opting to speak this morning. Also,
Republicans are taking over the US Senate for the first
(13:53):
time in four years. The GOP needed to flip only
two seats while holding the rest. The House still up
for grabs and will be close either way. Locally, Prince
George's county executive, Angela also Brooks, is the apparent winner
of the US Senate's seat in Maryland, defeating former Governor
Larry Hogan. In Virginia, Senator Tim Kaine also expected to
(14:14):
win his race against Republican hung Cow voters in Ward eight,
returning Treyon White to the DC Council despite his ongoing
legal problems, and Initiative eighty three getting overwhelming support from voters.
It allows rank choice voting in elections with more than
three candidates as long as the DC Council approves funding.
(14:35):
The initiative also allows unaffiliated voters in the district to
vote in any party's primary, and in other news, Washington
commanders adding a pro Bowl cornerback to their defense, the
Commanders sending three draft picks to the New Orleans Saints
in exchange for Marshawn Latimer and a fifth round pick.
(14:57):
In the forecast, today, it's going to feel like summer, folks,
partly cloudy, breezy, eighty two, the high right now sixty
in Knokesville.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
When you feel like you're being hounded more and more
and more by a significant other, are you wrong if
you bring it up? Or is that a sign of growth?
We'll discuss because this has been on my mind since
I was in Florida over the last few days with mine.
Want to take your temperature on this eight six, six,
nine two seven forty three sixty one is the number
(15:27):
to jump in if you have thoughts or if you
have something you want to share. And in the meantime,
stay close. I'll explain what I'm getting at. Coming up
in minutes with Toby and Chilly in the morning on
this Wednesday, November six, Thank you for waking up with
ninety seven point one watch FM Toby and Chilly in
the morning. Oh, do you ever had that feeling like
you're being just hounded more and more recently by a
(15:48):
significant other could be anybody, doesn't have to be significant
other could be a friend, family member eight six six
ninety two seven forty three sixty one. If this has
triggered you to feel some sort of way this morning,
you can all see he's a talk back microphone. It's
wide open when you're signing to your eyheart app The
reason I bring this up, and maybe it's because I
just noticed it more intently over the last few days
(16:09):
that I was with my significant other. But for the
first time, I think in our relationship, I actually straight
up said, flat out multiple times over the weekend. I'm like, dude,
do you really feel like you need to be riding
me this much? Because it feels, well, I'm not riding
you well, it feels like you are okay. And here's
the thing, I don't think I'm wrong for saying that.
I feel like, for the first time ever, maybe I'm
(16:31):
standing up for myself because that's how I felt.
Speaker 4 (16:33):
So I'm guessing this has to do with time management,
because you know that sometimes you're on your own Toby
time and your significant other is more buttoned up about things.
And you guys were taking part in a five K
at Disney that probably required you to be at certain
places at certain times. So when you say she was
hounding you, was she telling you to hustle?
Speaker 5 (16:54):
Is that what you mean?
Speaker 2 (16:55):
I think it's the anxiety of everything involved. It wasn't
just being in Florida living in the same like place
for a few days. It's like started on the way
to the airport, or it started I see at the
airport when we landed, or going to get a rental
car looking to what can you wait and get the baggage?
Do you think you can handle both of the bag
I'm like, I mean, I guess you're a project manager,
(17:17):
but okay, calm down.
Speaker 4 (17:19):
So is this the first time that you've noticed it,
or is this the first time you've actually said something
about it? And if it's the first time you said
something about it, how was it received.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
First time I've said something about it. It's not the
first time I've noticed it. I've noticed it before, but
I've kind of just played it off. First time that
I actually called it out. And how is it received?
I got the whole I'm not hounding you. I'm not
hounding you. I'm not riding you. I'm like, well, it
sure feels like you are and that's where I think
things get a little bit interesting because I've never really
(17:51):
just flat out said, hey, this is how you're making
me feel with this stuff.
Speaker 4 (17:56):
Look, I'm going to focus on growth, all right, That's
where I'm going to leave this. I'm going to say,
however this evolves and ends. In the past, you probably
didn't say something or walked away from relationship. The fact
that you're addressing it is huge.
Speaker 3 (18:10):
Well that's called growth, right. And see, here's the thing.
Speaker 2 (18:14):
Like no Tony Robbins talk, no Ted talk, no no
mel Robbins book can define every relationship. Sometimes relationships aren't
a beautiful quote. Sometimes they're messy, and this is one
of those messy things. But sometimes I think if you
speak up, you can maybe find a solution. But if
you don't, you're at risk.
Speaker 5 (18:33):
That's exactly right.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
Eight sixty six nine two seven forty three sixty one.
If you have thoughts, feel free to jump in talk back.
Microphone wide open two for you too. If you're listening
on your on your iHeart app and you're signed in,
you'll be able to tap the microphone and tell us
what's on your mind. And while you're telling us what's
on your mind, tell us about a time when somebody
in your life expressed disappointment in a career choice you made.
(18:56):
Has this ever happened to you? Eight six, six, nine
forty three sixty one. Phones are now open with Toby
and Chilly in the Morning, operators are styling box. Let us,
shall we think about that one time that somebody expressed
some real disappointment in a career choice you made? Ninety
seven point one washeffm? Do you remember that time? Is
a triggery to think about it and makes you go hmm.
(19:18):
Eight sixty six, nine two, seven forty three sixty one.
Toby and Chilly in the Morning. We bring it up
because there's a story that's floating around about a guy
who was a part of one of the most successful
TV shows of all time, yet still couldn't find a
hey had a boy kind of moment with a loved one.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
I take it.
Speaker 5 (19:34):
Yeah, So Patrick Warburton.
Speaker 4 (19:36):
Warburton was on Seinfeld for years as Elaine's boyfriend Putty.
Speaker 5 (19:41):
Turns out, his dad hated the fact that he was
on that show.
Speaker 4 (19:45):
Wrote a six page letter to Patrick about how disappointed.
Speaker 5 (19:49):
He was in the choice that he made for that role.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
It seems vesceral chili. Is this something you can personally
relate to.
Speaker 4 (19:55):
Yes, it wasn't until recently that my dad was finally
okay with me doing this job.
Speaker 5 (20:02):
He thought I wasn't living up.
Speaker 2 (20:03):
To my potential eight sixty six nine two seven forty
three sixty one. Parents always want the best for their kids,
but sometimes they're very disappointed in the choices that you
make when it comes to your job.
Speaker 4 (20:14):
But you have a daughter, she's getting to an age
where she's going to graduate college. What's more important that
she lives up to what you think is her potential
or what makes her happy.
Speaker 2 (20:23):
No, because if you work at a job that makes
you happy, you don't work a day in your life.
That's very important advice. It's not just a cliche. So
I want her to do what she does that makes
her happy. Now, I do want her to remember if
she's got student loans to repay, get those off Dads
back or else Dad's gonna have to go and see
if you can figure out how to use the gifts
(20:45):
that mom gets. Because my mom is like your dad
gets kind of disappointed. I think sometimes in my career,
even though it's been very successful for the most part
so far, she does go back to the fact that
she wants me to write, and I wish you would
have written for the newspaper, or wish you would have
written for magazines or write a book or something.
Speaker 5 (21:02):
This is my life.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
But I'm like mom, But I'm happy playing these songs
and talking about crazy things, and that's what I want
for my kid. So you live with the fact that
maybe sometimes you're not going to please everybody. Disappointment, as
somebody expressed some disappointment and a career choice. What's your story,
tell us about it so we don't feel so alone,
and we'll all be together. Ninety seven point one wash
(21:26):
FMN eight sixty six nine two seven forty three sixty one.
Call now, use that talkback microphone. We can't wait to
hear from you. Coming up after eight. And by the way,
the news top stories at the top of the hour,
we'll get to that coming up in just minutes. Hang out.
Speaker 1 (21:40):
Top Stories top of the hour.
Speaker 4 (21:43):
