to get your take on this. Shee's into all things
Christmas of all colors, including the Christmas tree. And one
of the Christmas trees we have is a tall white
(19:53):
spruce Christmas tree.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
Like the base of the color is white.
Speaker 2 (19:57):
Yes, Yes, got the idea from a very high end
the retail shopping establishment, because the colors kind of pop
when it comes to the white tree.
Speaker 3 (20:05):
I see, if the background is white, then the ornaments
go hello, look at me.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
Yes, And they've got like the lights in the like
the laser lights and the tips. So it's just this
colorful display of all things festive.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
I mean, if I had to vote, I'd rather go
with just a classic green from childhood. I'm a traditional person.
Speaker 2 (20:24):
And me, of course, I like to break traditions. Good
morning in Rockville, Robert. Your Christmas tree preference when it
comes to color, what do you think?
Speaker 3 (20:33):
You know?
Speaker 6 (20:34):
Green trees are just so nostalgic and traditional, But I
actually think white trees are the most beautiful. I grew
up with white trees that my mom would decorate with
gold and silver ornaments, so I'm definitely partial to that look.
Speaker 3 (20:46):
Now, thanks, Robert. Looks like you got to vote for
your white tree there, Toby.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
Yes, But Stephanie, you have a Christmas tree preference that
could tie everything up.
Speaker 6 (20:55):
There's just something so classic about that evergreen look with
more lights and vintage ornaments, but just feel so timeless
and cozy. But I can totally appreciate the boldness of
a white or even a pink tree for a fun.
Speaker 1 (21:06):
Modern twist.
Speaker 6 (21:07):
But give me that traditional green tree though, and I'm
in full holiday spirit.
Speaker 3 (21:11):
Uh yeah, I can never go for pink, you know
what I'm saying. But thank you for at least putting
somewhat of a vote in the green category.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
So let's try to find some common ground. If it
brings you joy, pick that color for your Christmas tree.
The only person that matters to is you or Toby
and Chilli in the Morning. It's ninety seven point one
wash CHEFM if you've got thoughts eight sixty six ninety two,
seven forty three sixty one. Next to story that we
think might just make your Monday.
Speaker 3 (21:37):
Actually speaking of trees, it has to do with the
very heartwarming story behind the Rockefeller.
Speaker 2 (21:44):
That's minutes away with Toby and Chilly in the Morning
hangout sentimental roots in indeed, we're talking about the Rockefeller
Center Christmas tree and a story that we think might
just make your Monday. Here at ninety seven point one
wash CHEFM Toby and Chilly in the Morning. So about
the tree.
Speaker 3 (21:59):
This tree he belonged to a couple named Earle and
Leslie Albert, and they planted it outside their home in
Massachusetts back in nineteen sixty seven, shortly after they got married.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
All these years later, that tree is over seventy four
feet tall, and it caught the attention of the head
gardener of Rockefeller Center who knocked on the door literally
and said, hey, we would like your tree for probably
the biggest Christmas tree stage on the planet.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
I mean, this is a huge honor for Earl. He
lost his wife and when they came and asked for
the tree, he took it as a sign from Leslie
and said yes.
Speaker 2 (22:38):
He said she'd be thrilled with what's become of the tree.
And Michael Albert notes that donating the tree symbolizes a
new chapter for their family. The tree's already been cut,
it's in New York City. Soon it'll be adorned with
fifty thousand multi colored led lights, stopped with a three
dimensional crystal star, and of.
Speaker 3 (22:59):
Course Role will be there with this family, and I'm
sure it'll be a very emotional moment when the tree
is lit.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
By one Kelly Clarkson coming up the first week of December.
So when you look at the Rockefeller Christmas Tree, remember
the story that went into it, and remember the legacy
that the tree stands for. It's a story that we
think might just make your Monday as we start to
close it on the festive season.
Speaker 3 (23:24):
And if you come across a heartwarming story, please send
it our way. You can find us on the Toby
and chili page at washfm dot com and who knows.
