I am Chiliamar. Toby Nap is out, but Mike Client
is here and this is our first morning show with
our Christmas music playing.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
Yay.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
I am very excited. Driving into work. I was listening
to us and I tell you what, it warms the heart.
It really really it sounds like a fairy tale basically.
I love it. Yeah, no, it's really good. It's very nostalgic.
Did you anything fun over the weekend? Saw Wicked? Last night?
I got lucky, went to the Avang screen of Wicked.
It was amazing. Now the official opening is this coming
(00:40):
Friday Friday? Yeah. Yeah, And they've been promoting the hell
out of this like a lot ariana Grande's everywhere. The
cast is all over the place. What did you think?
I was impressed.
Speaker 4 (00:51):
You know, I saw the stage play in New York
back in the I don't know, like five seven years ago.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
It's great. I've seen it.
Speaker 4 (00:57):
It was really good. Yeah, they did a very good job.
I mean they're different, but an amazing job. I mean, like,
I would go see it again, definitely.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
Yeah. So you think it lives up to the hype.
Speaker 4 (01:07):
I think it does. Yeah, I'm actually willing. I think
this will be the biggest movie of the year.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
WHOA coming in right.
Speaker 4 (01:13):
At the edge of twenty Now, the last movie I
saw was A Joker and that was horrendous, So I'm just.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
Like, well, comparatively, no, oh yeah. Do you think that
there was any one standout person in the cast or
do you think they were all equally like amazing?
Speaker 4 (01:26):
I think they were all equally amazing. I think Ariana
Grandie I did not think she would do well. She
really stepped up. She did a fantastic job. I was impressed.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
Well, she said this was like her dream role, the
Wicked role, and that she was sort of made for
this and she desperately wanted to do it. And it's
because of this role she's sort of taking a step
back from doing music and kind of focusing more on
the acting part. She did a good job. I was impressed. Definitely.
Here all right, Hey, Mike client gives it a thumbs up.
I guess it's worth it coming up in just a
(01:55):
few minutes. I don't know if you know this, but
lunchibles have been removed from national school lunch programs.
Speaker 5 (02:02):
Now.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
I don't know if any local schools had lunchables, but
this begs the question, when you were a kid, can
you remember what your favorite school lunch was? Eight six, six, nine, two, seven,
four three six. One is the number to call and
get involved in the conversation, and we'll get to that
next as Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues on
ninety seven point one wash FM. It's Toby and Chilly

the official Christmas music station. That's right, and we are
talking about the favorite school lunch of yours when you
were a kid. I'm Chilli Lamar and my client is
in for Toby Nap. I'm bringing this up because lunchables
have been removed from National school lunch program I didn't
know they were on there. I didn't either, and I
(02:44):
thought they were healthy. I feel okay, No, I really did.
They're like the shercutery board for kids. Yes, yeah, kin,
that's a great way of saying it's not it's not.
I don't think my son's school in Fairfax County offers it,
and I'm kind of glad because I mean, there's a
lot of processed food in there. But anyway, what was
your favorite? Oh, taco day. We would have taco d Okay, yeah,
(03:04):
I would really enjoy because it's never something my.
Speaker 4 (03:07):
Family would make, like oh yeah, yeah, okay.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
My mom was like traditional Armenian mom. She would make
the very traditional like Greek or Lebanese Armenian food. So
I was a treat to have a tacos in school?
What about you? I didn't like it at all.
Speaker 4 (03:22):
No school lunch. I didn't like any school lunch. No,
Oh good lord, I don't know. Why did you just
pack a lunch every day or yeah? Or eat something
that was like a you know, something inappropriate? Oh? I
loved off campus. My favorite lunch was French fries. Okay,
not healthy? Okay, not healthy? But John, you were part
of the show in Laurel. Go ahead, what was your
favorite lunch?
Speaker 5 (03:43):
I always loved our school's cheese sticks.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
We would get those on Friday and everyone would just
go crazy for him. I don't know how they made them,
but they were so good. I wish I could still
get those. How they made them? They took them out
of a freezer and they stuck him in the fryar.
That's not made them. Oh my god. Oh, you could
probably get them in the frozen food section. Yeah, Matzo memories. Yeah, okay, Kathy,
(04:07):
your turn in Fairfax. What was your favorite.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
Those classic pizza days?
Speaker 3 (04:12):
You know, the ones with the rectangular slices and you
just write.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Them out of cheese and sauce. It was always such
a highlight of the week. Oh my god, boy, did
that just unlock a core memory. Yeah. Not a good
one for me though. No, but here's those pizza days.
The rectangular ones were one thing. But I love the
French bread pizza days. You had French bread. Oh we
love the French breada oh man, Now I really want
French bread pizza, even though it was cardboardy. Thank you
(04:38):

Clarice's Lispecter. She says, it's inside myself that I must
create someone who will understand. That's right, someone who'll understand.
Inside yourself means developing a part of you that's empathetic,
that's wise, and it's capable of making sense of your
own emotions, experiences, and thoughts and building that inner strength,
(05:23):
that self awareness, and also the ability to find clarity
and peace within even when maybe external understanding is absent.
So I'll read the quote one more time. It is
inside myself that I must create someone who will understand.

that ulcer flare up that he had earlier this year.
He posted on Instagram quote, I almost died in June,
had eight blood transfusions, lost half my blood and twenty

tomorrow night between five thirty and seven thirty. Now, if
you are hosting Thanksgiving this year, the best day to

specifically around eight am. That's when stores are typically the

kids watch? Eight six six nine two seven, four three
six one is the number if you want to jump
into the conversation, I'm gonna tell you why introducing my
eleven year old to toy story was a huge mistake.
As Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues on ninety
seven point one wash FM, your official Christmas music station,
Washington's official Christmas music station. It's Toby and Chilly in
(10:26):
the Morning on ninety seven point one Wash FM. I'm
Chilli Amar Toby Nap is out, but my client is
here morning, and I'm telling you right now you better
be careful when you have kids what movies you expose
them to, even if they are kid movies. We watch
Toy Story, okay, my son bad. No, it's a great movie.
(10:46):
I love the Toy Story franchise, and I was so
excited to introduce my eleven year old to the Toy
Story franchise. But what I wasn't thinking did you see
the movie? It's been a while, but yes, I mean,
you know the toys come to life. Yeah, they have feelings.
They don't want to be thrown out, they don't want
to be donated. They love they're humans so much. You
(11:07):
could see where this is going right now exactly. Oh god.
So every year, just so you know, backstory, right before Christmas,
we donate a lot of my son's toys because new
ones are coming from Santa right yep. And so this
year he's like, I can't, I can't give away these toys, Mama,
(11:27):
didn't you see the movie that I'm like, no, no, backfire,
this is fake and you know that's fake. It's just
a cute sea story. And so he's like fighting me
tooth and nail on making the donations and the only
way we're getting around it. Yeah, how did you get
it right?
Speaker 5 (11:41):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (11:42):
You do. We watch the sequel, and one of the sequels,
Andy who's the human kid, donates his favorite toys to
a neighbor named Bonnie, and so he's still able to, like,
you know, make sure that Andy went to a good
home or wood, he went to a good home. So
what we're doing is we're gonna donate Donado's toys to
(12:03):
hit one of my cousin's little boys so he can
have visitation.
Speaker 4 (12:07):
You're probably not gonna want to see him again, but yeah,
chare it's safe. They're safe, exactly good home, Toby.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
And Chilly's nearly impossible question.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
Here we go. Of all the cruise ships sailing the world,
only three percent have this in common. What is it
you're playing for? Tickets to go see Kyle Mino get
Capital one Arena April eighth plus one hundred dollars gift
card to the DC Holiday Market. Eight sixty six nine
two seven four to three sixty one is the number? Again,
(12:39):
the question. Of all the cruise ships sailing the world,
just three percent have this in common? What is it?
Eight six six nine two seven four three sixty one
is the number your guesses and the answer to the
Nearly Impossible question on the Way As Toby and Chilly

Capital in Arena, April eighth, plus one hundred dollars DC
Holiday Market gift card. That Holiday Market runs from November
twenty second through December fifteenth. Eight six six nine two
seven four three sixty one is the number of all
the cruise ships sailing the world. Only three percent have
this in common? What is it? Pam and Waldorf? Thank
(13:26):
you so much for listening. How are you this morning?
Speaker 1 (13:29):
I am doing wonderful.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
How are you well? I'm doing well for a Monday too.
And you've got the question what do you think the
answer might be? This morning? I was thinking that it's
a female captain. Okay, you think just three percent of
cruise ships have a female captain, that's what they've got
in common. Yes, the answer is yes, that is correct.
(13:52):
Oh great, Thank you, you're so welcome. Your Monday just
got better because not only are you gonna go see
Kylie minou Get Capital and Arena April eighth, but we're
also going to give you this one hundred dollars gift
card to the DC Holiday Market that's running from November

for listening to ninety seven point one wash FM, the
official Christmas Music Station. And we'll be back with more
of these tickets and that gift card tomorrow morning with
another nearly impossible question. But first coming up next, we're

be sneaky? Maybe you ruined a planned surprise? Eight six

stories next as Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues

music station. You are listening to Washington's official Christmas music station.
It's Toby and Chilly in the Morning on ninety seven
point one wash FM. I'm Chilli, Jamar. My client is
here for Toby Nap And I don't know if you
saw the story, Mike, but there was a guy in
Argentina who was bus did for trying to smuggle cigarettes
across the river, Oh God, by dressing as a water plant,
(17:06):
was floating across the river and he was caught. I
see that's funny, very clever, but it did not work.
So kind of wondered when have you failed at trying
to be sneaky? Eight six six nine two seven four
three six ' one is the number. Do you have
a story?
Speaker 4 (17:24):
So back in the day, I tried to sneak a
bottle of alcohol into Preakness into the infield there, and
you're looking at me very weird.
Speaker 2 (17:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (17:32):
So I got through security. Everything was good. It wasn't
that big of a bottle. But then we got through
and we got ready to walk in and I dropped
the bottle in front of everyone and it didn't break,
but they took the bottle and they confiscated it.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
Confiscated.
Speaker 4 (17:46):
Well did they let you stay? They did let me stay,
but they just like not one where was sending me.
They picked it up for the trash can and like
kept it moving. It was so embarrassing because I was
doing it for a friend. Oh yeah, a friend who
was too chicken to do it himself.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
Exactly. Oh man, okay, I made fun of the rest
of the day for that one. Kyle, thanks for joining
the show in Silver Spring. How did you fail at
being sneaky?
Speaker 5 (18:06):
Trying to get home late when I was in high
school definitely did not work. I would try and stay
out past curfew and then just sneak back into the
house and almost every time. My parents would hear me
coming in, and then I would just get scolded for
being out too late.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
I was way too chick in to even try to
sneak out of the house. Did you ever try that
when you were younger? I did.
Speaker 4 (18:26):
My parents got an alarm and that didn't work. Oh
set it off one time. That was embarrassing.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
It wasn't for people breaking into the house. They got
the alarm to make sure you didn't sneak out. I mean,
I'm sure that wasn't the case, but it worked for them,
it did. Okay, Leslie, thanks for listening in Leesburg. What
happened with you?
Speaker 3 (18:43):
One time I tried to surprise my friend with a gift,
and I thought it would be super clever by hiding
it in my bag, But of course they asked what
was in it right away, and I totally panicked and
blurted out just the snacks. Needless to say, the surprise
was totally ruined.
Speaker 2 (18:59):
Leslie. I wouldn't I feel bad? That's exactly what my
response would have been. Really yeah, Because I can't think
that quick on my feet. I have to know going
in what my response is gonna be in case somebody
starts interrogating me. Thank you so much for jumping into
the conversation there, and if you've got a story, it's
not too late to call. Eight sixty six nine two
seven four three six ' one is the number coming
(19:21):
up in just a few minutes. Though, as we do
every Monday, we like to share a story that will
put you in a really good headspace make your Monday heartwarming.
This one is about FBI agents who swap their usual
evidence boxes for book boxes in a heartwarming visit to
an elementary school in DC. And we'll share that next.
(19:44):
As Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues on ninety
seven point one wash FM, Your Home for the holidays,
It is Washington's home for the holidays. Ninety seven point
one wash FM Toby and Chillian in the Morning. I
am Chilliamar and my client is in for Toby. Every Monday, Mike,
we pick a story locally that we think will make
(20:04):
everyone's Monday, and this one is out of DC. So
FBI agents decided to swap their evidence boxes for book boxes.
It's a heartwarming story. They visited a southeast DC elementary
school last week. They focused on classrooms delivering books to
jc Now Elementary in the Marshall Heights area. This whole
(20:25):
thing came about from the FBI's Junior Special Agent Program,
which started earlier this school year, where agents from the
Washington Field office have been visiting the school and showcasing
skills that are needed to become an FBI agent. That's cool,
very cool, I mean, can you be I wish we
had this one, I said. But then their involvement, you know,
(20:46):
began more casually, like on the first day of school,
agents greeted students and parents. They sparked the idea for
this book drive. One agent had a little conversation with
a parent who mentioned, just briefly mentioned, the school's little
free live could really use more books. Okay, So that
simple comment got the wheels turning, and soon agents and
(21:06):
staff across the DC area started contributing to this little library.
They dug through their own bookshelves, or they even bought
new books. They collected a lot of books in excellent condition,
and they went and delivered it to the school. And
it's really really cool, that's awesome. The response was overwhelming.
The growing stacks of books brought back childhood memories and fueled,
(21:29):
you know, their excitement and the real joy came when
jc now's junior special agents got to pick their favorite
books and take them home and enjoy them so overall.
One of the teachers at the school summed it up best,
calling the drive amazing as her students beamed with excitement
over all these new books. So that's really cool. Thank
(21:52):
you so much to the FBI agents in the Washington
Field office, and of course for the kids at jc
NOW Elementary in Southeast DC for having a story that
really made our Monday. And if you've got a heartwarming
story you want to share, you can always find us
