Speaker 1 (00:00):
Toby and Chili Mornings on Demand on ninety seven point
one wash FM. It's Toby and Chilly in the Morning
on ninety seven point one wash FM. Welcome to Thursday,
January second, twenty twenty five. Are you used to saying
that yet? Toby Napp is out, but producer Taylor Shay
is in. How are you?

Speaker 2 (00:20):
I'm good.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
I am going to mess up writing twenty twenty five
on my checks.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Just kidding, Chili.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
I'm kidding because you don't write checks right. I haven't
written a check day.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
I know.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
I don't even know where right check book is.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
But this is like that weird time where I don't
know how many people are actually going back to work today,
if they took the holiday timeframe off, or if they're
just going back on Monday, January sixth, which I mean
Toby's coming back on Monday the semon. Yeah, And my
son goes back to school supposedly on Monday, January sixth.
And I say supposedly because if you've been paying attention,

(00:56):
there's a lot of chatter about a significant amount of
snow that's supposedly coming in from Sunday night into Monday.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Chili, I have a solution for you.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Here's what we're gonna do.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
I'm gonna go buy my kids new boots, sleds, gloves.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Then it won't snow.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Cause you're gonna yes. Well, one would think that that
would work. The problem here, unfortunately, is when I have
tried that in the past, it has not worked for me.
So maybe the reverse will work for you. Yesterday, though,
because of what they're saying may happen because we live
in a snow hole in the DC area, which they

(01:38):
call for snow, but then like everywhere around us gets it.
We went in the closet to see if his boots
from last year fit. Thank god they still do. Wow,
his gloves are fine, coat barely no snow pants, but
I had purchased a month ago on Facebook marketplays some
snow pants for him and they barely fit. Like I'm like, okay,

(02:02):
this will make do until we get like more permanent things.
But he's of course, just worried about sledding. Hey, Mom,
are we gonna have a slid whatever? Look, it's too soon, okay, teachers,
I know you're excited if you're even listening right now,
this early in the morning, that you may have a
longer break, but we'll just have to wait and see.
And I think we'll have to catch up with ABC
seven meteorologist Eileen Whalin maybe tomorrow as we get closer

(02:26):
to the weekend. Yeah, she's the authority on that. She
will let us know she is. And because it is
a new year, of course, a lot of people talking
about resolutions, and the number one resolution according to a survey,
was actually surprising. We'll share that with you next as
Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues on ninety seven
point one wash FM. It's that time again, time for
a clean slate, new goals, and a new U. It's

(02:47):
Toby and Chilly in the Morning on ninety seven point
one wash FM. I'm Chiliamar. Tobin Nap is out today,
but producer Taylor Shay is here. And uh, I know
some people just really hate the word resolution, but let's
just share some of the top three. Okay, saving more
money was number one. Not losing weight, saving more money.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
That's changed.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Number two, improving your physical health, okay, and then number
three exercising more, Number four be happy, and number five
eat healthiers. Majority of those have to do with improving
your health or physical appearance. In some way. But number one, yeah,
save more money. So where do you stand, Taylor in
the resolution department?

Speaker 3 (03:31):
I have never made one, not once in my entire life.
You've never no, Because I've been knowing myself for forty years, Chilli,
I know no matter what I do, I will set
myself up to fail. I have some like lofty career goals.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Okay, but goals is another way of saying resolution, So
you can wrap it up any way you want. So
if you have any kind of goals for this year,
if I were you, okay, that's kind of like a resolution.
You're resolving to do something hopefully.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Well, they're out of my control though, that's the difference.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Okay, that's fair. What about you?

Speaker 2 (04:06):
Do you make them?

Speaker 1 (04:07):
I used to all the time. I mean I've had
years where, yeah, it was more going to the gym.
I had a year where I was gonna travel more,
and for the most part, I would achieve them, but
they would stress me out, like I would start to
really judge myself, like this is you said you were
gonna do this, Chili, why aren't you doing it more?
And it just ended up causing more anxiety. So I
haven't had a resolution honestly a true resolution since I

(04:31):
became a mother eleven years ago, Because after you become
a parent, you're like, am I really gonna have time
to do any of these things that I'm setting out
to hopefully do in life? I don't know.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Mostly your resolution is just to make it until bedtime
every day.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
I absolutely And I think you sent me like this
popular is it a meaning?

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Oh yeah, it was something I saw for the weekend.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
It says just checking in to say that you aren't
legally obligated to come up with a list of ways
you can improve next year. You aren't required to add
a bunch of new stuff to your plate. So if
your new Year's resolution is literally to do less than
you did last year, thank you because same Ooh.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Now I can get on board with that doing less
or just showing up just whatever that looks like.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
That's where resolution starts.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
Okay, So I feel like this is sort of like
the pre mindset mindset that we're having a discussion right now.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Did I steal your quote?

Speaker 1 (05:27):
No, you did not steal my quote. But if you
want to share your new Year's resolution with us, or
if you want to jump on the bandwagon of not
having one and why you don't want to have one.
Feel free to give us a call and share your
thoughts at eight sixty six nine two, seven, four three
six one now coming up next. Yes, I do have
a quote that I found as we start a new

(05:48):
year twenty twenty five with our morning mindset. As Toby
and Chilling in the Morning continues on ninety seven point
one wash ff, Welcome to a new year. It is
Thursday January tewod on ninety seven point one one, Chef
and with Toby and Chili in the Morning, I am
Chilli Amar. Toby Napp is out today. But I do
have a morning mindset quote for you. Craig Loundsbro says,

(06:10):
any new beginning is forged from the shards of the past,
not from the abandonment of the past. Our history serves
as a foundation for growth and transformation, and it guides
us as we create something new. So remember that as
we take on a new year, perhaps you set goals
for yourself, maybe resolutions for yourself. A lot of people

(06:30):
look at the new year as a new chapter, turning
the page, but remember what happened before should not be
completely abandoned, because it will help with the growth that
you are going through in the new year, so again,
any new beginning is forged from shards of the past,

(06:51):
not from the abandonment of the past. You can find
that quote or share your own using hashtag morning Mindset
on the Toby and Chili page washfm dot com. And
coming up next, we are going to get you up
to speed on all the Hollywood news with our show
biz buzz. In a complex legal battle between Blake Lively

(07:12):
and Justin Baldoni, two lawsuits were filed on Tuesday. I'll
share all the details next as Toby and Chile in
the Morning continues on ninety seven point one WASHFM ninety
seven point one WASHEFM. It's Toby and Chilly in the Morning.
I Am Chiliamar Toby Nap is out today, but it
is now time for your show biz buzz. In case

(07:32):
you missed it, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt finally reached
a divorce settlement. It took them eight years. Their split
has been one of the longest divorce battles in Hollywood history.
In a complex legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni,
two lawsuits were filed this week, one by Lively, accusing

(07:54):
Baldoni of harassment and a smear campaign, and also won
by Baldoni alleging libel against The New York Times. He
says that the Times article was filled with inaccuries inaccuracies
rather regarding Lively's claims about what happened on the set
of It Ends with Us. The judge overseeing the investigation

(08:18):
into Liam Payne's death has ruled that the One Direction
singer did not lose his balance before he fell from
the Buenos Aires Hotel room balcony. He was instead trying
to leave his room through the balcony while he was
in a drugged state. Wrongful deaths lawsuits have been filed
against an employed, two employees of the hotel, and one

(08:41):
of his friends. Squid Game season two broke Netflix records
with sixty eight million views within just the first four
days of its release. It quickly became one of Netflix's
top non English language titles in company history. And Sabrina
Carpenter has teamed up with Dunkin to launch Sabrina's Brown

(09:01):
Sugar Shaken Espresso, which of course was inspired by her
song Espresso. The ice drink blends Espresso, brown sugar and
Oatmelk and that is your showbiz buzz coming up in
just a few minutes. We are going to update you
on all the news headlines with Toby and Chile's Top Stories,

(09:26):
of the Hour. The FBI says it believes the suspect
who drove through a crowded bourbon street in New Orleans
was not acting alone. The suspect has been identified as
a forty two year old man who is a US
born citizen from Texas. An ISIS flag was found on
the trailer hitch of the pickup truck that he used
to kill at least fifteen people and injure dozens more.

(09:48):
The explosion and fire of a Tesla cyber truck at
the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas yesterday morning is
being investigated as a possible terrorist attack. One person inside
the true was killed and at least seven others suffered
minor injuries. President elect Donald Trump is planning to hold
a rally at Capital One Arena the day before his inauguration.

(10:12):
The Trump Vance Inaugural Committee says the event will be
held on January nineteenth at three pm. A couple of
new laws went into effect in d C yesterday. The
one that'll affect the area the most is that people
will no longer be able to make right turns on
red now. Another new law will require DC businesses to

(10:32):
accept cash payments unless they sell liquor or they're open
late at night. And according to a recent survey, twenty
five percent of remote workers admit their social skills of
decline since they went fully remote. The biggest things they
struggle with include initiating conversations, maintaining eye contact, and participating

(10:53):
in group discussions. Forecasts forward today, it's going to be
partly cloudy, windy, forty two the high with the wind
chill in the thirties. Right now. It's thirty three degrees
in Montgomery Village coming up in just a few minutes.
So what's the most dangerous activity you took part in
when you were younger? Producer Taylor Shae, who is in

(11:14):
for Toby Nap today, is gonna tell us why she
suffered multiple fractures when she was in high school. You're
not gonna believe the activity that caused those injuries. Will
get to that. As Toby and Chilly in the Morning
continues on ninety seven, point one Wash FM, Welcome to
a new year. It is January, tewod It's Thursday, Toby

(11:37):
and Chilly in the morning. On ninety seven point one WASHEFM.
Toby Nap is out. I am Chilli Amar and Taylor Shae,
our producer, is here in for Toby. We were talking
off the air a couple of days ago about how
I have never knocked on wood broken a bone in
my body, and you know, I'm very nervous about that.

(11:59):
I'm great that I haven't. But you said something to
me that got my jaw dropped, and that you have
fractured multiple fingers doing.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
What well, all ten of them at different times. I
have had small fractures in all of my fingers because
of drum corps, you know, like the field shows where
they throw the flags and the sabers and they dance
at like halftimes and all of that.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
I loved doing that.

Speaker 3 (12:29):
And you were in high school when, yes, because there's
nothing else to do in central Minnesota, okay, and so
this is what we did. But when you toss them,
you are tossing a large chunk of wood in the
air ten plus feet above your head, and you have
to slide your hands in it the last second and
grab it.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
Can I ask you something and I promise you won't
be offended. Okay, maybe you sucked at.

Speaker 4 (12:50):
It, like I don't.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
You broke all ten of your fingers multiple times, tailor yes,
and you kept going back.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
I loved it.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
But you know what, though, anybody who is drum corps
or any sort of like intense color guard, we'll tell
you that that is actually a badge of honor. If
you break your finger, you tape it up and you
get back out there, you're pretty awesome.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
I would love to know if any childhood activity caused
you multiple injuries and you kept going back to do it.
Eight six six nine two seven four three six 's
one is the number. I was a theater person. I
was performing on stage. I don't think you know. Thankfully,
I never had to worry about any injuries of that sort.

(13:36):
But if I was injured, I can't imagine my parents
would even allow me to go back and do it.
They'd be like enuf already, you know, with the broken
bones and the broken finger.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
No, you you were it if you had broken fingers.
Half the time, I didn't even really tell my parents
because I was a little bit afraid of that. I
would just come home with tape fingers and they're like
another one. Do you need the doctor?

Speaker 1 (13:58):
Do you think you still have it in you to
toss up some whatever? Flags in the air, sabers in
the air.

Speaker 3 (14:05):
My dad rolled his eyes, but he understood, he understood
sticking to something that was very important and fun for you.

Speaker 1 (14:12):
That is too funny. Well, thank you for letting us
know to stay away from what you call drum corps,
drum car drum corps. Yes, it's Toby and Chilly in
the morning. On ninety seven point one, washefem coming up
in just a few minutes. So a burken bag is
a designer purse. A lot of celebrities have them, and
they will cost you a minimum of ten thousand dollars.

(14:33):
Apparently there is a dupe out there that has gone viral,
and you're gonna find out shockingly which retailer is selling
the dupe burkin as we continue on ninety seven point one,
washef imagine owning a designer purse normally worth between ten

(14:54):
thousand dollars and a half a million dollars for only
ninety bucks. It's Toby and Chili in the morning a
ninety seven point one Wash FM. I'm Chili Jamar. Toby
Nap is out today. Producer Taylor Shay is here and
we're talking about the Burken bag. Yes, this designer purse.
Where in the world can we get a dupe of this? Walmart?

Speaker 2 (15:17):
Have you seen it?

Speaker 4 (15:18):
No?

Speaker 3 (15:18):
It looks just like a real Burkein bag, which I
didn't even know what a Burkein bag was until I
until I started watching Real Housewives.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
They all have them.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
Yeah're stupid expensive, but yeah, the Burken bag is now
being well burk and dupe. You can get it Walmart
for ninety bucks. But I would not even pay ninety
bucks for that thing, Chili. I don't own anything design.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
So you looked online, if you would look at side
by side, like if you were just a glance, does
it really? Does the Walmart version look.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
Like online on your computer side by side?

Speaker 1 (15:46):
The looking is it sold out everywhere? Because everywhere, of course,
everyone wants the dupe burkin I just I'm with you.
I would pay ninety I would pay ninety dollars for
a purse, but I wouldn't want to pay ninety dollars
for a purse that people think is worth tens of
thousands of dollars because I don't want people coming at
me like a thief. Oh that's a no, it's a dupe.

(16:08):
Leave me alone, Like I don't want to be attacked
for that.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
Right You're at Union Station and someone goes, ooh, there's
a burket.

Speaker 1 (16:14):
Yeah, no, it's not. What do they call it at Walmart?
Is it a workid? Of course, it's a working.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
W I r K I ed working bag.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
When it comes to the designer world, even if I
won the lottery tomorrow, a purse is not something I
would ever consider spending that much, like clothes or no. Okay,
so if it was closed, like if I had, if
I had the money, I would do like a designer
gown for a special occasion just to say I did

(16:45):
it once. Yeah, yeah, like maybe for my son's wedding
in the future or something like that. But no, no,
I'm not. And I'm one of those people that gets
a lot of dupes for a lot of things in life.
And I'm sorry for the designers that it probably hate
us for doing that, but I'm just not comfortable walking
around with that kind of value on my arm and

(17:07):
my purse or wherever.

Speaker 3 (17:08):
Else it stinks for the guy who thought he was
robbing you of a five thousand dollars.

Speaker 1 (17:13):
Bag, Yes it does, sorry, sir. The resale value on
that is ten bucks at best. Coming up in just
a few minutes, we are going to get you up
to speed on all the news headlines with Toby and
Chilly's top Stories, a ninety seven point one wash f
Top Stories Top of the Hour. President Biden says the

(17:34):
man who drove through a crowded bourbon street in New
Orleans had posted videos on social media claiming to be
inspired by ISIS. The attack killed fifteen people and injured
dozens more. The suspect has been identified as a forty
two year old man who was a US born citizen
from Texas. DC Police Chief Pamela Smith says her department's
going to be operating at a heightened level of security

(17:57):
through at least the end of the week. The decision
comes ahead of next week's state funeral for former President
Jimmy Carter, and the National Guard is also going to
be on the grounds of the US capital on Monday
as lawmakers certify President Electromp's general election win. Two adults
and two children expected to be okay after their car
wound up in the Potomac River near Thompson Boat Center

(18:20):
last night. They were out of the water by the
time rescue crews arrived at the scene. Students in Alexandria's
city school systems should have their smart watches at home
when they returned to class next week. The school board
voted last month to add smart watches to the system's
cell phone ban, and according to a recent survey, the

(18:41):
average American gave the year twenty twenty four a score
of six point one out of ten. Sixty seven percent
said they experienced some kind of growth in the past year.
Common memorable experiences included reconnecting with an old friend, creative growth,
and getting a new pet. Forecast for today, it's going

(19:02):
to be partly cloudy and windy. Highs around forty two
with the wind chill in the thirties right now. Thirty
two in Springfield coming up in just a few minutes.
We want to know did you host over the holidays
and what is your least favorite part about hosting folks
eight six six nine two seven four three six ' one.
We would love for you to jump into our conversation

(19:25):
next as Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues on
ninety seven point one wash FM. It's Toby and Chilly
in the Morning on ninety seven point one wash FM.
I'm Chilliyamar. Toby Nap is out, but producer Taylor Shay
is here with me this morning. You know, if you're
just back at work over the holiday break, we're with you,
and we have Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Did you

(19:48):
have to host any of those holidays? Because if you hosted,
forty five percent of people in a survey said the
biggest thing they stress about is not having enough time
to prepare for guests. Now, for the first time in
a very long time, we my family, we did not
have to host any of those three holidays that I
just mentioned, and it was kind of nice that we

(20:09):
could go to someone else's house and leave whenever we
wanted to leave.

Speaker 2 (20:13):
Really, because you love hosting, I do.

Speaker 1 (20:16):
I do because to me, when you have children, it
is easier to host because then you can stick to
their schedule and they don't get dysregulated and stuff. I also,
when we bought this house that we currently live in,
bought it with the vision and the hope that we
could have our families come and celebrate the holidays with us?

Speaker 3 (20:36):
Yes, we did too. But you know how many holidays
I've hosted?

Speaker 4 (20:40):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (20:40):
How many?

Speaker 4 (20:41):
Zero?

Speaker 3 (20:41):
Oh, so you've never hosted? Never, not in this house,
not in any house. Do you have any plans to
do so?

Speaker 2 (20:47):
Well, we decided Thanksgiving us next year.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
Is that my hour twenty five?

Speaker 3 (20:54):
And I am kind of panicking. I've never done it
before and I don't.

Speaker 1 (20:57):
Know how Okay, So Thanksgiving is the most stressful one
I think to host because you've got a turkey in.

Speaker 3 (21:04):
Oh great, Yeah, no, I'm getting catering. I'm not cooking anything.

Speaker 1 (21:07):
Well, then what is there to worry about? Like, seriously,
what is setting the table?

Speaker 3 (21:12):
Well, there's apps, and there's drinks, and your fork is
supposed to go on.

Speaker 1 (21:16):
A certain side. Gude, And you're so funny.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
They are wonderful people, but my in laws are kind
of fancy. Oh and so I don't want to like
break any social norms of hosting.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
So it's not as a casual situation for you. The
very first time you're gonna host, you're gonna host with
a woman who has expectations.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
She was a debutante in South Carolina. Well, you a
great woman. I'm so glad to be a part of
her family. But she likes nice things.

Speaker 1 (21:42):
Okay, well that's what pinterest is for.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
I don't even think about Pinterest.

Speaker 1 (21:45):
You can get a lot of inspiration. However, you want
to set that table apps. I mean, Trader Jose has
such great cheeses and crackers. Just put them out on
a board, make a charcuterie board, get some shrimp cocktail.
I mean, I love having people around, I really really do.
But the part that I don't love is when I'm

(22:07):
ready to go to bed, there are people still at
the house, right, so be prepared for a very late
Thanksgiving night. So people just don't leave or what not
unless you tell them all right, time to get out,
No more food, no more booze, Bye bye. But good
luck with that. You got to love a thank you.

Speaker 2 (22:24):
What's your consultation fee to help me with this?

Speaker 1 (22:26):
It'll be leftovers. You can bring me leftover. So if
you hosted over the holidays, what was your least favorite
part about hosting? We want to hear from you. Eight
six six nine two seven four three six 's one.
We'll get to your calls in just a few minutes.
But first, we are going to hear another crazy first
date story. D and Laurel flew to a foreign country

(22:51):
to go on a first date with this guy. Was
it love? Was it the makings of a terrible movie?
I'll find out. Just Tobe and Chilly in the Morning
continues on ninety seven point one. Watch out. That's Toby
and Chilly's crazy first day in Laurel d. What happened?

Speaker 4 (23:10):
Went to Texas and I visited a friend who I
had known over the years, just casually, and we go
to breakfast that turned into lunch, and he literally had
a flight to catch a few hours later, and he goes,
what would happen if I shot my shot? And I'm like, wait,
is this a real thing? So that conversation evolved into
him saying his favorite artist is going to be performing
in Cape Town in a few days and he would

(23:32):
love for us to go to the concert together. So
I pulled up flight information on my phone. I'm like,
are we really going to do this? It seems kind
of silly. We're one or two drinks in and he's
like yeah, and so I leave my phone. I go
to back and I'm like, if I come back and
the tickets like already purchased, we're going to go, And
so I come back and he pushed the information on
the phone. The ticket was purchased. So four days later
I got on a flight to go to South Africa.

(23:54):
On the way, one of the plane of connecting flights
left me. It was a mess, but I got there
just in time the next day for the concert. So
we went and had a great time and the best
first take so far.

Speaker 1 (24:06):
Please tell me it ended happily and that maybe you
saw each other again.

Speaker 4 (24:12):
Well, I stayed with him like the whole time while
I was there, So we saw each other for the
next three to four days.

Speaker 5 (24:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (24:18):
No, we went fight seeing, we went to dinners. We've
did a bunch of things.

Speaker 6 (24:21):
Yes, I've heard there's a lot of things to do
in South Africa, but that's more than just shooting one shot.
That's like throwing a hail Mary pass. Did you think
that he had lost his mind when he brought that
up originally.

Speaker 4 (24:33):
In the moment, I did because I didn't expect this
date to turn into that. I didn't even think it
was a date. We were just having breakfast. So in
that first moment I was like again, then I said
why not? Actually, what would be the reason not to
do this?

Speaker 1 (24:44):
Well, it sounds like the beginning of a great love story.
What happened after that trip we did?

Speaker 4 (24:50):
We kept in contact, we were waiting. I guess long
distance dating. It was new, it was fresh, but after
some months it didn't end up working out.

Speaker 6 (25:00):
Distance shows up. I mean, it's one thing to fly
to South Africa, it's another thing to have a long
distance relationship when you're here in.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
The DMB and he's in housedag the dudes in Tahas. Yeah, man,
and that was quite the bar that you guys set
with the first date.

Speaker 4 (25:15):
You can't come back from that.

Speaker 6 (25:16):
What is the next guy going to have to do?
Take you on on around the world cruise?

Speaker 4 (25:21):
At this point, let's just start with a nice date
right here, like Potomac or Alexandria or something like that.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
In goal from there, the holidays are over? Did you
have to host It's Toby and Chilly in the Morning
on ninety seven point one Wash FM. I'm Chiliamar. Toby
Nap is out, but producer Taylor Shay is here. And
earlier we were talking about how forty five percent of
people who hosted guests over the holidays. We're stressed about
not having enough time to get the house ready, to

(25:48):
get anything ready. And Taylor, you were saying that.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
This year, yeah, twenty twenty five, that you're.

Speaker 1 (25:54):
Going to be hosting for the very first time Thanksgiving. Yes,
and it's stressing you out, but you're getting it catered.
I'm like, why are you?

Speaker 3 (26:02):
But it's still a lot involved with hosting and I'm nervous.

Speaker 1 (26:07):
Yes, But once you get the hosting bug, you get
bitten by that bug. It is glorious, although there are
downsides as we are learning about it at Kelly in Rockville,
what is your least favorite part about hosting.

Speaker 7 (26:21):
The pressure of making sure everything goes perfectly, because there's
always that fear that someone might not be having a
good time, whether that something could go wrong. But in
the end, it's all about the connection, so it's worth
the effort.

Speaker 1 (26:33):
Kelly, you said the p word pressure a lot of times.
That's the pressure you put on yourself as the host,
which I think what you were talking about, Taylor, maybe
you're making this assumption that your guest is going to
have certain expectations that you're not going to meet. But
that is not the only thing that people freak out
about when it comes to hosting, David in Woodbridge, what

(26:56):
is it for you? Is it because you don't enjoy it?

Speaker 5 (27:00):
I like to cook, but for a large amount of people,
it just gets to be too much. Plus not being
able to socialize with everyone because I have to cook
is also pretty annoying. I just want to relax and
enjoy everyone's company.

Speaker 1 (27:13):
Thanks David. But here's a little pro tip for you. Okay, okay,
when he's talking about cooking while people are there, no, no, no,
no no. The cooking is done before your guests arrive.
You have to coordinate. You have to time it just right.
And you're doing the smart thing. I'm coordinating it with
a founding farmers. Yeah, you're getting it catered, You're making

(27:34):
sure that it's there. And then here's one other thing.
Buffet style versus sit down kind of everybody has a
place at the table and all the food is out
and all that. I'm a huge fan of when you're
hosting a party or a gathering, to have it the
buffet style where people kind of serve themselves and sit
at different places around the house. That way you don't

(27:57):
have to worry so much about people having conversations or
where they're sitting.

Speaker 3 (28:03):
I honestly didn't know there was another way.

Speaker 1 (28:06):
Well, there you go.

Speaker 3 (28:07):
I'm telling you I'm going to find a way to
mess this out one more.

Speaker 1 (28:11):
Toby and Jilly head over to washpn dot com or
