Toby and Chilly Mornings on Demand on ninety seven point one.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Wash out Toby and Chilly in the Morning on ninety
seven point one was CHEFM Feeling good this morning because
the Commanders. I know that the win wasn't there. I
know that the Eagles showed up. I actually kind of
maybe called it on Friday because the Eagles are just
an incredible team. I will say that Eagles chiefs in
the Super Bowl. That's kind of an interesting storyline. Can
(00:26):
they do it again? But back to the Commanders. You
can't be upset about the Commanders this morning. How can
you not feel good about the season they had?
Speaker 3 (00:35):
You know? Oh?
Speaker 4 (00:36):
Absolutely, That's what I said on Friday. They already want
in my book, they already came so much further than
we expected them to. And I was very excited. And
I did say to my husband yesterday when it became
clear that the Commanders weren't going to win, at least
I don't have to take off February tenth, Yeah, right,
because I was like, because then we'd have to watch
the Super Bowl, and there's no way I was going
(00:56):
to miss.
Speaker 5 (00:56):
The Commanders in a Super Bowl, right, you know?
Speaker 2 (00:59):
And I think everybody would have taken off on that day.
I will say this. You know what was interesting. I
did this for the first time yesterday. I listened to
Big one hundred's coverage while watching the game on mute,
and it's actually kind of a cool thing. I've got
to do that more next season. I didn't realize that
our sister station to the right of us in the
(01:20):
next studio, they carry the Commander's coverage, and it was
just very cool to hear, you know, yeah, yeah, just
a different take on the game.
Speaker 5 (01:29):
I'm not a huge fan of Tom Brady, so I
should have done that.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
Well, well there's that, yeah, you know, but anyway, we
remember that for next season. Well, super Bowl straight ahead
of us. Now we've got the Eagles and the Chiefs.
We'll see how that goes. Toby and Chilly in the morning,
it's ninety seven point one. Watch FM hang out for
a few minutes because coming up.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
Have you ever been on a date that wasn't going
well and you figured out a way to get out
of it, or maybe you bailed on them even before
the date happened?
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Ghost did the bail the got out of it? We'll
talk about it in minutes eight six six nine two
seven forty three sixty one on this Monday morning, feel
free to call and get involved eight six six nine
two seven forty three sixty one. Or since we're pre
said number one on your iHeart app and that's how
you choose to listen to us Toby and Chilly in
the morning, you're a ninety seven point one wasch FM.
Feel free to tap the talk back microphone since you're
(02:18):
signed in and tell us how.
Speaker 6 (02:20):
Have you gotten out of a date?
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Either you were in the date and it went south
and you needed to bail, or maybe you just decided
after the fact, after you agreed to go on the date,
you're like, I'm done with this. There's no right or
wrong answer. Not gonna judge, just want to hear good stories.
We'll start over here with some of ours, chili. What's
your tried and true way of bailing on a date?
Speaker 4 (02:39):
Fifteen years ago, when I was dating, it's been a minute.
One of the things I would do is I would
start to not feel well, sorry.
Speaker 5 (02:47):
You know what, Oh, I feel flushed something. It would
be some sort of a physical ailment.
Speaker 6 (02:53):
I'm not feeling all right.
Speaker 4 (02:55):
I would say, I hate to cut the short bit.
I just I think I'm coming down with something.
Speaker 6 (02:59):
You don't have to come over. No, I'll be fine.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
I think I'm just gonna I'm gonna go home. Now,
here's some of the money for the dinner. Thank you
so much with me in touch, and of course we weren't.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
One was the tried and true. Something came up and
it's about work, So I have to go because.
Speaker 5 (03:15):
This does work.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
How did you How would they know something came up?
Did you pretend your phone rang or something like?
Speaker 6 (03:20):
What did you do?
Speaker 7 (03:21):
You know?
Speaker 6 (03:21):
I just got a text? Or if that?
Speaker 2 (03:23):
The best was when it happened before the event, because
then it was really kind of plausible. If it happens
during the day the thing, you have to come up
with some sort of story as to why you had
your phone on, vibrator or whatever.
Speaker 6 (03:37):
At least that's how it is for me.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
It's always easier to cancel before, to get out of
the date beforehand, you know what I mean? Your turn
eight six, six, nine, seven forty three sixty one Steven
over at Tyson's What's Up?
Speaker 7 (03:49):
I had a blind date and I actually did what
they do in the TV shows.
Speaker 6 (03:52):
I arranged a safety.
Speaker 7 (03:54):
Call with one of my friends.
Speaker 6 (03:55):
I told him to call me ten minutes into the date.
Speaker 7 (03:58):
If the date was going well, brush off the call.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
If not, I pretend it was some sort of emergency
and I had to go.
Speaker 4 (04:05):
Oh see, you did what Amy Schumer pretended to do
when she was dating her father has MS and she
would be like, oh, he's been hospitalized, I gotta go,
and she would ditch the date.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
One should not play games with fate or karma.
Speaker 6 (04:19):
That's not good.
Speaker 4 (04:19):
Don't fake a family member's hospitalization.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
Just a pro tip, because then you're gonna get the
real phone call. That's no bueno. Lucy, good morning, Thanks
for listening. In German down What's Up?
Speaker 7 (04:30):
One time I was supposed to go out on a
date with this guy and I ended up lying. I
told him that I got scheduled for work early the
next morning, so I had to cancel our night out.
Speaker 5 (04:40):
Did you feel guilty about it?
Speaker 7 (04:42):
I felt bad, but I just changed my mind about
wanting to see.
Speaker 4 (04:46):
Him, and I get it. I totally get it now, Toby.
Did you ever since that a woman bailed on you
the day before or made an excuse during the date
to get out?
Speaker 6 (04:55):
Yeah, but I don't want to talk about it.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
Because in talking about it, I'm forced to relive that trauma.
Oh please, and it was very traumatic the times that
it happened. I lost count of them.
Speaker 4 (05:04):
Well you owe all of them, thank you, because it
led you to your perfect relationship.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
Now look at you. The glass is always half full
with you. And if your glass is not half full,
you stay right there because in less than ten minutes
we're gonna help you.
Speaker 6 (05:18):
Your morning mindset. Stay up.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
Every weekday morning around this time we think about you
and your mindset. It's ninety seven point one wash FM.
We're Toby and Chilly in the morning and we call
this your morning mindset.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
It's when we find a quote and share it with
you to get you into a good headspace as you
start a new day.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
Remember what Mary Ann rad McGerr says, I probably screwed
up her last name, Red Macher, Red Mocker.
Speaker 6 (05:43):
Courage doesn't always roar.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of
the day saying I will try again tomorrow. Marian Rodmcher says,
courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice
at the end of the day saying I will try
again it tomorrow. You know, if today falls short a
little bit, maybe if the weekend fell short with some
(06:06):
work you've been doing or whatnot. It's okay. Sometimes that
courageousness to take on life isn't like a loud lion
roaring at the National Zoo. Sometimes it's a quiet voice
at the end of the day before you go to bed,
saying got this tomorrow, I gonna try one more time.
Keep that in mind as we go through this Monday
and we get into a brand new week. It's the
(06:28):
twenty seventh day of January. That's your morning mindset. And
if it helped you, or maybe you want to share
it with somebody, you can do so. Toby and Chilipage
washchefm dot com coming up in just a few minutes.
Some entertainment news. We call it showbiz buzz. What's your
working on this morning?
Speaker 4 (06:43):
John Chu, who's directing the Britney Spears biopic, has actually
mentioned two actresses he is considering to play Britney in
the movie.
Speaker 6 (06:53):
Interesting you'll find out who coming up.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
Don't move Toby and Chilly in the morning here on
ninety seven point one wash of them. It's Monday time
for some Hollywood news. Some entertainment news. We call it
show biz buzz, What's going on?
Speaker 4 (07:06):
Taylor Swift has been named the best dressed celebrity of
the decade, and that was based on a number of
Google searches for her style and outfits. Harry Styles came
in a distant second, followed by Zendeia John Chu, whose
director of the Britney Spears biopic is said to be
considering Selena Gomez or Natalie Portman to play the singer,
(07:28):
a move apparently Britney supports because she admires Portman's acting
skills and Gomez's child star background. The late Paul Rubens,
who is known for playing Pee Wee Herman, came out
as gay in the posthumous documentary Pee Wee as Himself.
In the film, Rubens revealed that he hid behind an
alter ego because of self hatred or self preservation. Pee
(07:52):
Wee as Himself is a two part documentary and We'll
be excuse me, We'll be released on HBO later this year.
The upcoming bio pick Michael Jackson called Simply Michael, has
reportedly encountered a huge legal issue which requires a major overhaul.
The producers have to rewrite and reshoot the film after
(08:13):
lawyers discovered there was a clause in a settlement with
one of Jackson's former accusers that prohibits mentioning the accusers
story in the movie. But that story is apparently a
big part of the third act. And finally, Playboy Magazine
bringing back its print issues after stopping during the pandemic,
and its first cover model will be Lorie Harvey. She's
(08:37):
an actress and model and also the daughter of Steve Harvey.
That issue will be available February tenth, and now you
can pre order it.
Speaker 5 (08:45):
And that is your Showbuz buzz.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
Yes, people read that magazine for the articles. That's right,
for the articles, Toby and Chilly. In the morning on
this Monday, it's thirty seven point one WASHFM.
Speaker 6 (08:55):
You need the news.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
Top stories at the top of the hour. That's on
the way in just a few.
Speaker 8 (09:02):
Top stories top of the hour.
Speaker 5 (09:04):
The Washington Commander's dream of playing in the Super Bowl
has come to an end.
Speaker 4 (09:09):
The Eagles beat Washington fifty five to twenty three yesterday
in the NFC Championship Game. And for the second time
in three years, it is going to be the Kansas
City Chiefs against the Eagles. The Chiefs have a chance
to become the first team to win three straight Super Bowls.
The White House says the Colombian government has agreed to
(09:29):
President Trump's terms after threatening terriffs. The President threatened retaliatory
measures after Columbia initially denied entry to a pair of
US military deportation flights. Metro trans A police investigating the
death of a trespasser who was hit by a train
Saturday night while walking in a tunnel between the Grovenor
and North Bethesda metro stations. Passengers on the train were
(09:53):
evacuated and returned to the nearest station by a rescue train.
The two giant pandas, who made their debut at the
National Zoo in DC Friday, can now be watched for
free on the online pandacam. It's a system of over
forty cameras. The pandacam is live from seven am to
(10:14):
seven pm every day, and then after hours the feed
will loop footage from the previous day. And Groceries aren't cheap, actually,
the average household spending a nearly eight percent of its
income on them. But a new study shows how the
type of diet you follow can really make a big
difference in cost. So if you're going gluten free, for example,
(10:36):
that's going to cost you the most, while the vegetarian
diet is the cheapest. Forecast for today lots of sun
High's getting up to around fifty Right now, it's twenty
six and Lee's bird next.
Speaker 6 (10:48):
With Toby and Chillian the Morning.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
There are certain things you should not purchase online. And
I say that based on some personal experience. I did
some online shot up. Let's just say there are certain
things it's better to go to the.
Speaker 6 (11:04):
Store to check out.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
I'll explain coming up in minutes as Toby and Chilly
in the Morning continues on this Monday, January twenty seven,
eight six six nine two seven forty three sixty one,
give us a call here at ninety seven point one
watch FM Toby and Chili in the Morning. Is there
something you prefer to buy in person over say, shopping online,
not taking anything away from Amazon or or Poshmark or
(11:29):
what's that place where you can go overstock or any
of these places where you can go to get you know,
furniture or whatever online. But I have found in the
last week to two weeks that there are some things
that I would rather go to a store to buy.
Speaker 5 (11:44):
What is it like, what did you realize?
Speaker 2 (11:45):
Well, lamps lamps from my living room, right, specifically lamps.
Speaker 5 (11:49):
From a floor lamp or a desk line like.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
In table lamps. Okay, right, need to get new end tables.
But after the lamp debacle, I'm not buying in tables online.
Speaker 7 (11:59):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
First, the lamps went back because they didn't fit right
the uh I guess what do they call that? The
lamp shade wasn't correct or whatever. It was just not
what I thought it would be. So I took it
back and then I got two new ones a little
help from my significant other. Those I'm happy to say
I put together yesterday, very excited, got it done. But
(12:23):
I will say this, I will not be buying anything
furniture related online anymore. And it's not because of having
to build this stuff. It's just I think you need
to see it, you know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (12:35):
I think it also depends on the type of furniture.
If it's a bed or something, obviously you need to
go and get the vibe for it in person. I
think some people will see something somewhere like at a
brick and mortar, but still order it online once they
know that they like it. In person. See that's the
deals are better online. A lot of times I.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
Would have to know what it looks like in person,
and when it's all assembled and all in the showroom,
then maybe I could go and do the wayfair thing
and have it sent back, you know, have it shipped
in or whatever, and then build it myself.
Speaker 4 (13:09):
I think we've lucked out with in our home, at
least with furniture related stuff. The category that I always
find to be very challenging to buy online as a dress,
you know, especially a formal dress. So funny, it was
that simple, you know, Like I just I'm not a
fan of buying dresses and having your return that you
got to try stuff like that.
Speaker 6 (13:27):
On In truth, you have to have to.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
And you know what, the same thing needs to be
said about places like Rooms to Go and whatever. There's
a reason why they're so successful because I still am
waiting to build this this what's it called the thing
behind the bed, the bed frame or the whatever that
is the headboard. I'm still waiting to build the headboard.
And had I just gone with Rooms to Go, they
(13:52):
would have delivered it after I went to the showroom.
Oh is there something that you can relate to. When
it comes to this, you know where to find us.
Speaker 8 (14:00):
Toby and Chili's nearly impossible question.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
In the meantime, let's play the game for some Rod
Stewart tickets Merriweather Post Pavilion.
Speaker 4 (14:07):
The question is, according to a study, over half of
us owns one of these, but we never use it.
Speaker 6 (14:14):
What is it? All right?
Speaker 2 (14:15):
Eight sixty six nine two seven forty three sixty one
is the number if you know the answer to this question.
Speaker 4 (14:22):
According to a study, over half of us we own
one of these, but we never use it.
Speaker 5 (14:28):
What is it?
Speaker 4 (14:29):
Call?
Speaker 3 (14:29):
Now?
Speaker 6 (14:29):
Get it right?
Speaker 2 (14:31):
Win tickets to Rod Stuart Merriweather Post Pavilion. Thank you,
Live Nation. It's this summer.
Speaker 5 (14:36):
And here's a big hint it is weather related.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
Okay, okay, Well that's that's that's taking nearly impossible and
giving you like an impossible clue. But hey, now you've
got a clue, and you could have these tickets to
see Rod Stewart. Call now the game is on, we'll
find out what the answer is.
Speaker 8 (14:53):
Coming up with Toby and Chili's nearly impossible question.
Speaker 2 (14:56):
Good morning, Michelle in Martinsburg, West Virginia, Wild and wonderful.
Speaker 6 (14:59):
Good the Borning. Welcome to Monday. How you doing?
Speaker 8 (15:02):
I'm doing great?
Speaker 2 (15:03):
How are you wonderful? Did you have a good weekend?
Everything go the way you wanted it to go, unless,
of course, you're a Commanders fan, in which case it
didn't go the way you wanted to go.
Speaker 6 (15:11):
But you know you'll have these things.
Speaker 3 (15:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (15:14):
I would have loved to see them win, but you
know what, they had a great season.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
Yep, and you can't take that away from them. Are
you ready to play this game? Perhaps you could have
a great Monday?
Speaker 5 (15:23):
Yeah, I'm hoping that's play all right?
Speaker 6 (15:25):
Here comes the question again.
Speaker 4 (15:26):
According to a study, over half of us own one
of these, but we never use it.
Speaker 6 (15:31):
What is it?
Speaker 4 (15:31):
And we had given the hint that it's sort of
weather related umbrella?
Speaker 2 (15:36):
Did the umbrella weather related hint? Give it away and
helps for sure? Well, congratulations, that is the right answer.
How many times a week do you use How many
times have you used your umbrella?
Speaker 6 (15:49):
I do use them the king only, but I like
behind just as much sometimes.
Speaker 5 (15:54):
Yeah, well you know it's not alky.
Speaker 4 (15:56):
Wearing a raincoat sometimes just seems a lot easier to
do than hold an umbrella. That way, you're down one.
Speaker 6 (16:02):
Hand sliding into a poncho.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
Agreed, Well, you've got the tickets to see Rod start
thanks to Live Nations. Congratulations, that's the right answer.
Speaker 5 (16:12):
Yay, wait to stop my week.
Speaker 4 (16:14):
It is great and the show's in July, so hopefully
you won't need an umbrella, a poncho or a raincoat.
Speaker 5 (16:20):
Hopefully not.
Speaker 6 (16:21):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
So from your lips to God's ears, it does not
reign at Merriweather Post Pavilion on the nineteenth of July
this summer, is that right?
Speaker 6 (16:28):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (16:28):
Jaf ever margin May June. Yeah, I have to like
count out the dates on my fingers. It's just one
of those things. But at least I can be honest
with you about it, ma'am.
Speaker 5 (16:37):
Yes, that's true. Okay, thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (16:40):
You're welcome. Michelle and Martinsburg. Have a great day. From
ninety seven point one, watch FM and hang on the
line so we can get some information from you and
hang out for news if you need the news. Top

as the Eagles knock them out fifty due to twenty

The Trump administration says the Colombian government has agreed to
the unrestricted acceptance of all illegal aliens from Columbia returned
from the US after he threatened tariffs. The president threatened
retaliatory measures after Columbia initially denied entry to a pair
(17:32):
of US military deportation flights. A federal judge has barred
the founder of the Oath Keepers from ever entering DC.
The judge issued that order for Stuart Rhodes and seven
other members of the group on Friday, after Rhodes was
seen at the Capitol last week. Republicans in Congress they've
introduced a bill that would rename Dullas Airport for President Trump,

the best show for twenty twenty four because it's really
simple for me.
Speaker 4 (19:37):
Oh okay, my initial reaction would have been Baby Reindeer
that was based on a true story on Netflix. But
then season four of The Bear came out and it
blew everything away.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
I love the Love the Bear man. My significant other
swears by The Bear.
Speaker 6 (19:51):
I haven't.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
I haven't really been able to get into it, but
maybe I should try.
Speaker 4 (19:56):
Well, if you didn't get into it right off the bat,
it's probably not hooking you for for some reason.
Speaker 6 (20:00):
So I don't know.
Speaker 5 (20:01):
You've got your own like you got your.
Speaker 6 (20:03):
Good I do.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
It's I will tell you there too. One is The
King of Collectibles. It's a show on Netflix about a
guy who buys up people's collections and sells them. He
bought Reggie Jackson's stuff from Reggie Jackson, he bought stuff
from other people. And then there's a secret Live of
Mormon Wives. That's my pulpy, uh pulpy kind of time.
Speaker 6 (20:24):
Wasted. Yeah, guilty pleasure show.
Speaker 4 (20:27):
Yeah right, Well that's that's probably you're not Probably they're demographic.
Speaker 5 (20:30):
I'm very impressed that you like that.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
Oh no, I was blown away by it because I,
you know what, because I find, you know, like I
find the Mormon faith to be intriguing, and I know
that they have certain things that they follow in these girls,
these ladies, these girls, these ladies are like following anything
but the rules.
Speaker 6 (20:47):
So again, very pulpy.
Speaker 4 (20:49):
And I'm searching now for an amazing show to really
blow me away this year because I hate not having
something to watch.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
Right, So if you got any ideas on twenty twenty five,
well feel free to share those with the class now.

Speaker 4 (21:45):
Well, as you said the word terrific, this is all
part of Rockville's Terrific program and that acronym stands for trustworthy, earnest, respectful, responsible, involved, fair,
industrials and caring.
Speaker 5 (21:59):
Wow, that's a mouthful.
Speaker 6 (22:01):
It is a mouthful.
