Speaker 1 (00:00):
Toby and Chilly Mornings on Demand on ninety seven point one.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Why shout them be well we started.

Speaker 3 (00:05):
I would be remiss not to point out the accident.
It's all over national news that happened over the potomaclast night,
in case you're waking up and you missed it. A
military helicopter hit a plane and it's just tragic, you know,
but thank God for first responders. So if you're going
to feel good before five o'clock this morning, feel good

(00:26):
knowing that there are people who run toward problems when
problems happen, and they work to solve them. And those
people have been working all night, and I would, you know,
I just feel like I need to point that out
this morning. I feel like anything else would be kind
of superfluous.

Speaker 4 (00:41):
It is it is, especially because it's so fresh fresh,
like I know, yeah, maybe people listening right now literally
that when they were asleep this happened, so they're kind
of all hearing about it and seeing it on their
phones and the alerts and stuff. But as you said,
it was an American Airlines flight. It was on its
way from wichet Awkansas and they collided and they're still

(01:03):
as we speak out there searching for anyone who may
have survived. And of course throughout the morning in our
top stories we'll have any updates and in the news,
so it's not like we're going to completely ignore this
very big local story.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
It's a huge story. And by the way, if you
know somebody traveling out of Reagan not till at least
eleven o'clock today, yeah, know, the airport's closed and as
it should be.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
Yeah, And they may update that, they may push that
back even later. To your point, and I do want
to also say American Airlines CEO is saying that if
you have any loved ones that may have been on
board that flight, to call eight hundred six seven nine
eighty two fifteen.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
That's eight hundred and sixty seven nine eighty two fifteen.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
And if you need all any information, of course we've
got you covered. You know where to find us at
eight sixty six nine two seven forty three sixty one.
But you know, to try to start off today and
to be all giddy and happy, and you know, sometimes
it's okay not to be happy. Sometimes it's okay not
to be okay. Sometimes it's okay to wonder why, and
you know, there's a lot of questions with this whole thing.
I'm sure we're gonna find a lot of answers. It's

(02:05):
been wall the wall on the news on TV since
last night, so I'm sure that it will be today too. Yeah,
but anyway, we'll get to that stuff, coming up with
top stories at the top of the hour through the day.
In the meantime, coming up next with Toby and Chilly
in the morning Here at ninety seven point one wasch FM.

Speaker 4 (02:20):
Yesterday we shared a survey that found that doctors are
the most attractive jobs. Oh yes, yeah, and a lot
of people called in with their own input on it,
and I guess we still have people want to join
the conversation.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
Feel free. It's always always open for you to jump
into the conversation around here, so we will do so
next Curtly morning, Let's circle back on a conversation we
were having yesterday Chilly about the most attractive jobs. We
saw a majority of people who are singles say that
they love themselves. Some doctors, nurses came into number three,

(02:52):
which means the healthcare field took the top two of
the top three positions. Number two was educators.

Speaker 4 (02:59):
And we heard from many of you who shared what
job you've found to be attractive.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
Maria and silver Spring, good morning. What would that be
for you?

Speaker 5 (03:07):
Chemical engineering?

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Why do chemical engineers? Are you fascinated about people who
can look at like oil and gas and other chemicals
and whatnot?

Speaker 5 (03:16):
Sure, but there's so much more. They work on things
from environmental cleanup to medical applications to putting coatings on
things that can become solar panels or reflective enough to
send people to the moon. There's so many applications for
chemical engineering. I'm a little biased. I'm a science teacher,
but I've also dated a few chemical engineers and was

(03:38):
married to one, so I one was my best friend
before that, So I think chemical engineers are just awesome.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
Is that still a feel that you find attractive and
drawn too?

Speaker 5 (03:47):
Maria?

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Are they romantic?

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Do they chemically mix you up chocolates like you know
for Valentine's Day?

Speaker 5 (03:55):
That's what I would do. My lab is my kitchen.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
What have you chemically engineer here for breakfast this morning?

Speaker 5 (04:02):
Nothing?

Speaker 4 (04:03):
I love that you're giving a shout out to men
and women in stem or steam because you're saying you're
very attractive for your brain and all that you can do.

Speaker 5 (04:12):
I fully endorse it. I used to give students in
my class's nerd points for saying something really intelligent, and
I probably didn't coin the term nerd delicious.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
But anyway, well, we'll make sure that all the chemical
engineers that we know know your home numbers so that
y'all can go and create some chemistry together.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Yes, I'm good, I'm good.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
Well, thank you for calling this morning, man, have a
great day. There there goes Maria in Silver Spring, who
loves her chemical engineers.

Speaker 5 (04:43):
I love talking to you and love your show.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
Thank you so much, love you bag, and thank you
for calling this morning and Silver Spring Maria stay there.
You might need to have your mind a justed a bit. Well,
we can help. We can't chemically re engineer your brain,
but we can tell you your morning mindset and hopefully
those words from someone else might apply to you today
so that you can go and have the best day
that you can possibly have. That's on the way in

(05:06):
Just appear Toby and Chilly in the morning ninety seven
point one wash FM on Thursday. It's time for us
to talk about you and how you're doing this morning.
How's your headspace?

Speaker 4 (05:17):
We want to get you into a better headspace with
our morning mindset.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
Quote the Japanese proverb today, So it's not really attributed
to any one person, unless, of course, you read books
of proverbs, in which case you've probably come across this
Japanese proverb says, fall seven times, stand up eight. Fall
seven times, stand up eight. You know in life you're
gonna fall, and you're gonna fall a lot. Just embrace

(05:40):
it because when you fall, you get back up. So
go ahead and take the fall. It's okay. It happens
for a reason. But then you get to stand up
and that's when things start to happen for you. Fall
seven times, stand up eight. That's your morning mindset for
this Thursday morning, the thirtieth day of January here at

(06:02):
ninety seven point one WASHFM. Hopefully it helped if it
did share that proverb with someone whom I needed. Find
it to Toby and Chilipage at washefm dot com. Now
you need some entertainment news, we got you covered. Showbiz buzz.

the morning, and that's why people are talking about this
commercial time for some entertainment news. We call it showbiz buzz.
So tell us all about this commercial there, Chilly all right?

Speaker 4 (06:37):
So Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan are reuniting for a
Super Bowl commercial. They've teamed up with Hellman's Mayonnaise for
an ad that recreates their famous restaurant scene from when
Harry met Sally of The thirty second spot will also
feature a cameo from actress Sidney Sweeney. I'll have what

second stand up stint at the Comedy Celler, following her
previous performance at the same venue back in twenty seventeen.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Travis Kelsey has been nominated not once but twice.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
For Favorite Surprise Guest at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. His
nominations come from that one appearance that he had on
stage at the Taylor Swift concert and then also Morgan
Wallins Kansas City Show and finally, tonight is the night
a huge opportunity to help support the recovery efforts for
the wildfires out in LA and a great night for

(07:49):

iHeart stations as well as the ability to stream at

Speaker 3 (08:02):
Good stuff. That's one incredible lineup, two venues, one night

you park yourself in front of Hulu or if you're
listening to an iHeartRadio station. Toby and Chilly in the Morning,
got news on the way in minutes top stories at
the top of the hour, we'll tell you what's up
with everything happening over a near Reagan National Airport, the Potomac.

(08:22):
The plane crash, the helicopter. All of the latest is
minutes away.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
Top stories, Top of the hour.

Speaker 4 (08:31):
Rescue crews from all around the DC area. They've been
searching for survivors after an American Airlines jet with sixty
passengers and four crew members of board crashed into a
black Hawk helicopter while approaching Reagan National Airport from Kansas yesterday.
This happened around nine o'clock last night. Officials have confirmed
the helicopter was on a training flight. They had three

(08:54):
crew members on board. The US Figure Skating says that
a group of athletes and coaches were on that flight,
and sources are saying at least twenty bodies have been recovered.
So far, nothing is confirmed beyond that. Meanwhile, Reagan National
is going to remain closed until at least eleven o'clock
this morning. In other news, the Winehouse Budget Office rescinded

(09:16):
its memo regarding a federal aid freeze. This action comes
after a federal judge temporarily halted the freeze.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
Robert F.

The President's pick to lead the Department of Health and
Human Services face some tough questioning about his views on
vaccines and abortion. A panel that oversees metrorail safety says
the transit agency needs to make some improvements in communication

(09:46):
in contacting emergency services when there's fire or smoke detected
and just in time for Valentine's Day. A new study
reveals which dating app gives singles the best shot at
finding love. Hinge is the luckiest dating app, with eight
point three percent of reviews tied to real life love
story success, but Okay, Cupid the unluckiest for love. Forecast

(10:11):
for today it's going to be sunny, highs around fifty

Speaker 3 (10:16):
Say that the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
And in my relationship, my significant other tried to do
something good. I don't have the heart to tell her though,
that her attempts to give me a fresh start caused
more chaos than good. Oh no, I'll explain next. As
Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues, don't Move Million
Alice at six twenty five ninety seven point one wash

(10:39):
FM on this Thursday morning in the nation's capital. So
the road to hell, they say, is paved with good intentions.
And my significant other wanted to do something good for me,
to help me get a fresh start. She came up
with this idea to redo everything in my house. And
so while I was gone in Los Angeles in the
beginning of December, she took it upon herself to go

(10:59):
through to basically declutter everything. We're talking Marie Condo on steroids.

Speaker 4 (11:04):
Yeah, because she also changed out furniture. It wasn't just
like folding clothes and putting them away like she's getting
you a new bed.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
She wants all of the things well.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
And then she went into the bedroom and then she
got rid of the end tables, and she got rid
of the nightstand, and she got rid of this thing.
She got rid of the headboard.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
And how does it look now.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
Well, the idea at the time, from what I could gather,
is that she was going to fix and assemble the
headboard and the you know, nightstands and have them ready
for me when I got back. I don't have the
heart to say what I'm going to say, but what
I want to say it anyway, mm hmmm, that didn't happen.
Life is caught up. You know, you get busy. We

(11:44):
had different things going on. She had a worktop, had
a work trip lord. So guess whose place is still
kind of stuck in this limbo of chaos.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
She created more stress by trying to help.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
You have no idea how much stress it is. It's like,
it's not just it's not just stress. It's the worst
kind of stress that doesn't go away until you get
everything done. But until you get those things done, you
can't do anything about the clutter. It's like ugh.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
And this is part of the reason why I think
some people turn down help because your timeline is not
necessarily their timeline. Or like if a friend comes over,
it's like, oh, I hope you clean out your closet.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
Well, that friend's eventually gonna leave.

Speaker 4 (12:24):
And go back home, and you're gonna be stuck with
the remainder of the stuff. So I get you. That
is that is not good. So when do you think
this will all get done?

Speaker 3 (12:34):
At this point, I don't even know, And I'm scared
to even say anything because I feel like I'm gonna
be ungrateful if I do.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
You know, you're still sleeping on the couch, is there?

Speaker 3 (12:42):
I'm not sleeping on the couch. I've got a bed.
Don't ask me about the headboard. Don't ask me about
the night stands. I managed to wring one up with
some stuff. I found a target the other night. God, well,
you know, gotta be crafty that way.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
Keby and Chilly's nearly impossible question.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
Oh this life some time anyway? What's the question this morning?

Speaker 4 (13:02):
The average person hasn't changed their order for this food
item in more than two years?

Speaker 2 (13:09):

they might be interested in knowing what it was.

Speaker 4 (13:51):

Speaker 5 (14:15):
Is, I'm gonna go with pizza.

Speaker 3 (14:17):
Why have you changed your pizza order in more than
two years? Or no?

Speaker 5 (14:21):
I don't think so. I think I what are the
the thing every single time?

Speaker 2 (14:25):
And what would that be?

Speaker 5 (14:26):
On mushrooms?

Speaker 3 (14:29):
Mushrooms and pepperoni?

Speaker 2 (14:31):
You go, well, you're like the average person. They stick
with what they like. They don't change that order also.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
Top Stories, Top of the Hour.

Speaker 4 (15:41):
More than thirty bodies have been pulled from the Potomac
River so far after a black Hawk helicopter on a
training flight collided with an American Airlines regional plane that
was landing at Reagan National on its way from Kansas.
This happened around nine o'clock last night. There were sixty
passengers and four crew members on that plane and three

(16:01):
soldiers in the helicopter. A US Figure Skating says that
a group of athletes and coaches were on that flight,
including Russian World figure skating champions. Meanwhile, Reagan National is
going to remain closed until at least eleven o'clock this morning.
In other news, the President's Budget Office yesterday rescinded a

(16:25):
memo freezing spending on federal loans and grants, just less
than two days after it sparked widespread confusion and legal
challenges across the country. Wegmans is now issued a recall
of some of its store brand frozen breaded chicken breast
nuggets in their forty six ounce family pack that was

(16:45):
also sold in the DMV. The package has a best
if used by date of August twenty fifth. A DC
group that showcases works from independent artists has canceled its
annual Fringe Festival Capital and says a rising cost of
finding a location led to the decision to cancel it,
and according to a recent survey, thirty three percent of

(17:08):
women we're behind on important medical appointments for things like mammograms,
gonecological exams, and even getting their yearly physicals, and reasons
for that delay include being anxious about seeing the doctor,
the cost, and also being too busy. Forecast today lots

saying that what's right for me is not right for everybody.
What's right for your body isn't right for everybody's body.
Toby and Chili in the Morning, it's ninety seven point
one wash FM. Have you ever encountered a food that

(18:12):
you thought was good deed, but then in retrospect it's
not so good for you? Not sabueno.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
Oh, so what is it you found out that you
can no longer eat? Toby?

Speaker 3 (18:21):
I have had to eliminate brisket from the diet for
the time.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
Being, specifically brisket or all meat.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
Complex meats, meats that are harder for the body to
break down. Okay, like you know steak Nope, Oh you
know all those things you like when you go to
a steak restaurant. Yeah, I have to put that on
hold for now.

Speaker 2 (18:41):
Your favorite food group, that's that.

Speaker 3 (18:43):
Well. Fortunately I like fish, and I like, you know,
some chicken and whatever. That stuff passes the test, but
when it comes to the meat. No. Toby and Chili
in the Morning at ninety seven point one. WASHEFM where
you can get into the conversation at eight sixty six
nine two three sixty one? Is there some food chill
that you thought was healthy once upon a time doesn't
have to be now, yeah, could have been. As you've

(19:05):
been adventuring through your own journey with weight loss and
then weight maintaining wellness that you came acrod. You were
shocked to find out that it wasn't good for you.

Speaker 2 (19:12):
Well.

Speaker 4 (19:13):
For a long time, many of us were drinking diet
coke or all the fake sugars in the beverages because
we thought, oh, great, fake sugar. But my doctor told
me a couple of years ago, no, no, no, the
only fake sugar you're allowed to have is stevia, and
that's the only one that he is approved.

Speaker 2 (19:33):
For me having.

Speaker 4 (19:34):
So now I have to be very mindful of what
I'm putting in my beverages to sweet.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
Sugar in the raw, but just a little bit to
turn our some stevia, because at least it's natural.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
Or exactly it's real. It's a plant.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
Good morning, Ethan, and silver spring. What's something you used
to eat you thought it was good for you, you found
out it's not so bueno.

Speaker 5 (19:54):
Breakfast cereals they were like, oh hey, vitamins and minerals.
They're like candy, like cocoa.

Speaker 2 (19:59):
Pebbles, coco pebbles.

Speaker 4 (20:02):
I don't know, Ethan, anything that turns the color of.

Speaker 3 (20:05):
Your milk brown. Hey, look may not be natural. Look, ladies,
ethan chilly. I'm telling you right now that fruit loop
says that it's loaded, packed and fortified with vitamins and minerals.
Why is that bad? Fair point this morning? What the
food do you see? She gave it up? You thought
it was good for you, then you found out no,
not so much. Eight sixty six nineteen seven forty three

(20:27):
sixty What is the number? Talk back is wide open,
so if you're signed into your iHeart app, feel free
to jump into the conversation. We'll get back to it
after eight o'clock this morning.

Speaker 4 (20:35):
Coming up next though, we're going to hear another one
of your crazy first date stories. Lisa in Baltimore took
a break to the bathroom and then accidentally send her
date a message.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
The story will make you glad they've launched that as
a feature. Recall the message you'll hear why coming up?

Speaker 1 (20:52):
Being chilly crazy first date.

Speaker 3 (20:54):
In Charms City a very beautiful place to visit, live
and work. Lisa is here from Baltimore, so take us
on this crazy first dated venture.

Speaker 6 (21:03):
So I meet this man on Tinder and we decide
to go out and we're going to dinner.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
Things are going really well.

Speaker 6 (21:10):
And I thought he was leaning in for a kiss.
I'm a confident girly, so I turn around and shoot
my shot and he was going to like kiss my cheek.
So I'm like, okay, that was a little awkward. So,
like any female would do, we go to the bathroom
and I reach out to all my girlfriends in Snapchat
and I send them a Snapchat being like Ryan's ostadge
my kiss. This is like so awkward. Well, I get

(21:32):
back to the dinner table and he's like, oh, you
sent me a snap open that I sent my girlfriends
in front of me, and then proceeded to ask me
to pay for dinner.

Speaker 4 (21:42):
Whoa, he asked you to pay for dinner because he
wasn't happy with the snap.

Speaker 6 (21:46):
I don't know. I wish I could. I wish I
had the answers.

Speaker 2 (21:49):
You know what happens next.

Speaker 6 (21:52):
I basically just paid for it and then like just balanced. Ever,
we never talked after that. I was like, this is
the end.

Speaker 3 (21:58):
Maybe the timing was.

Speaker 6 (22:00):
Yeah, it's all about timing, you know.

Speaker 5 (22:02):
Out with Field and then.

Speaker 3 (22:03):
With the New Do you feel like maybe there, Lisa,
you were a bit too Kiss and Telly on this one.
I mean in a high tech sort of way.

Speaker 6 (22:12):
You know, listen, steps out. Once you open it, you
can never get it back. So in my head I
was like, thank God, this is like a one and
done for me.

Speaker 3 (22:19):
