Feeling good this morning because at least where I live,
and I know I don't live where everybody else lives,
so take this with a grain of salt depending on
your own neighborhood's conditions. It was smooth sailing coming into
work this morning, like it just was not bad.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
The roads were clear, they were treated and just for.
Speaker 4 (00:30):
People to understand, that's from near Shadygrove Hospital to Rockville.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Right, not bad at all, And it was just it
was actually a tribute to the people who have been
up all night working for plow crews and whatnot. You
guys rocked it. So thank you because you made this
morning very smooth. And I thought it was going to
be kind of interesting and it wasn't. And so that's
the reason I'm feeling good this morning.
Speaker 5 (00:52):
Chili.
Speaker 4 (00:52):
How about you, I'm feeling good because I'm becoming a
master at dueling. Go baby, I don't think I told
you downloaded the app, and I'm refreshing up my Espanol.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
You have to you have to learn how to speak
Spanish these days, because it's a very popular other language
in addition to English in our country.
Speaker 4 (01:14):
Yes, and I was very fluent back in the day
in college. I was like, you know what, I am
going to do this again. And no, it's been great.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
Due Lingo is a good app.
Speaker 5 (01:24):

Speaker 4 (01:30):
I mean, is free? Is Rosetta Stone free?
Speaker 3 (01:33):
I don't know. I guess they are. I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:36):

it's not an ad. This is not an ad for

six ninet two, seven forty three sixty one. They might
seem romantic in movies, but in real life sometimes they
come across as creepy. Toby and Chilly in the Morning
here at ninety seven point one WASHFM. Some of the
(02:53):
reasons why I see on the internet it's one sided
and unsolicited. There's a lack of consent. Mystery feels more
like stalking. It can create fear and not flattery. It's
avoiding rejection. The better move, they say, is to be
a respectful admirer.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
Chilly thoughts this morning.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
I would one hundred percent agree with it does seem creepy,
and let's be honest, folks, very rarely does the secret
admirer turn out to be like George Clooney. Okay, like
it's not always the person you want to be your
secret George Clooney doesn't have to keep it secret, you
know what I mean?
Speaker 2 (03:28):
If he was admiring somebody, it would be all over
People magazine.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
No, but somebody like that.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
I feel you on the it feels like stalking thing. Yes,
it's cool at first, maybe the mystery is the thing.
But then when they monitor your every move and they
watch every post you post on social media, that's when
it starts to get a little bit invasive. Thoughts eight
sixty six, nineteen seven forty three sixty one. The talkback
(03:53):
microphone is wide open. By the way, thank you for

have been way inappropriate.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
We're such a better fit and it's working great.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
I can't imagine how your ex deals about it, but
you know, love is love.
Speaker 6 (04:36):
Yeah, it's very awkward.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
No one's happy about it, but we are.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
And that's what matters.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
Brittany and Fairfax, go ahead, Secret Admirer, what's up?
Speaker 5 (04:44):

to me that he had a crush on me for
like two months and then we kissed.

High's in the mid thirties right now, though it's twenty

Speaker 2 (10:43):
Is there something you wish you had a little more
help with when it comes to stuff you have to
do at the home. Let's talk about this next here
at ninety seven point one, watch FM and if you
feel like you want to jump in now you know
the number. It's eight sixty six nine two seven forty
three sixty one.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
Hang out. We'll talk in less than twenty minutes. Right here.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
What do you wish you had a little more help
with around the house? Toby and Chilly in the morning.
This comes up because there's an AOL article floating around
the internet that talks about the alternative to baby showers,
and that would be nesting parties coming over to help
soon to be mom or a new mom with things
that well just start easy for a new mom to do.
Speaker 4 (11:25):
I love this idea, love this trend, and certainly is
very helpful, especially if you have more than one child.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
Toby and Chilly in the Morning in ninety seven point
one wasch FM. I've only got one, but I remember
we did have help when Kyla was a baby in Tampa.
We absolutely had somebody who came over to help with everything,
and I mean everything, because it was overwhelming to Kyla's
Mamma Desm.
Speaker 4 (11:49):
Now we don't need to just have kids in this scenario.
We could talk about everyday people, if you could choose
to have someone help you with something around them house.
What comes to mind, Chili, I'll yield to you. Go
ahead cooking. I love to cook, but I don't want
to cook because I have to cook. Does that make sense?
Like I would love to have a chef come and
(12:10):
prepare meals. That would be amazing awesome.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
So if anybody wants to come over to Chili's house
and help out with that, she would love to have
a nesting party for me. It's laundry. It's not as
glamorous as cooking. Oh, but when my daughter's home, it
just becomes an endless war of laundry, which is one
of the reasons why I go to a laundry matt,
draw myself off and come back and pick it up
sometimes the same day, and then it's all clean. Because
(12:34):
I love clothes, but washing them not so much eight
sixty six, nineteen seven forty three sixty one. Steven, you
say you could use the little help around the house.
Speaker 9 (12:44):
What with h I wish my kids would just pick
up their stuff. Every time I pick up everything, and
I think the house is in some sort of order.
My kids just spread their toys around and it immediately
looks like a bomb went off.
Speaker 4 (12:57):
Yeah, that comes with the territory unforced, and then it
just sort of becomes their room, right tybe, Now.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
We know why your house is so enkempt in Arlington. Steven,
thanks for jumping into the conversation. Monica, thank you for
listening to us in Silver Spring this morning. You need
a little help around the house.
Speaker 8 (13:13):
With looking everything organized, like managing the clutter that piled.
Speaker 10 (13:17):
Up and doing the deep cleaning.
Speaker 11 (13:19):
It's so easy for things to slip through the cracks,
and having someone to tag team with would make a
big difference.
Speaker 4 (13:25):
You are so right about that. But instead of tag teaming,
I'd just rather have somebody do all of it.
Speaker 3 (13:30):
Yes, Toby and.
Speaker 1 (13:32):
Chilly's nearly impossible question.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
Alli counting Mi Oak tickets up for grabs. The question
this morning is interestingly enough.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
Ten percent of us do this in our homes once
a day, but most of it just do it once
a week. What is it?
Speaker 2 (13:47):
Eight six six nine two seven forty three sixty one.
It's the number. If you know the answer, call now
get it right. Win those tickets to Connie Minogue Capital
One Arena when she comes in April eight sixty six.

Speaker 10 (14:28):
I'm trying to get to work.
Speaker 5 (14:29):

Speaker 2 (14:30):
I thought you were going to try to say you're
trying to get these Kylie Minogue tickets. Is the snow
bad where you are in Gaithersburg?
Speaker 10 (14:37):
To seventy is not bad, but for some reason by
a new suv, I think it's ice trapped in the wheel,
so I can't go faster than fifty miles an hour.
I'm a nurse, so I have to be at work.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
Yeah, well, you get there safely and you don't go
too fast now because we need you. Nurses make a
difference in healthcare.
Speaker 10 (14:58):
Okank you.
Speaker 3 (15:00):
Oh, thank you for what you do.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
So hopefully you'll get this question right and you'll win
these Kylie Minogue tickets.
Speaker 4 (15:05):
The question is ten percent of us do this in
our homes once a day, but most of it do
it once a week. What are we talking about here,
Diana vacuum man?
Speaker 3 (15:16):
How often do you vacuum once.
Speaker 10 (15:17):
A week because there's not a lot of traffic here
in the week.
Speaker 4 (15:21):
Do you get excited when you see the tracks on
the carpet that the vacuum makes?
Speaker 5 (15:24):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (15:25):
Absolutely yes, because thank you. That's an excellent guest. It's
also the correct answer. Congratulations, Thank you very much.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
Next time you push that vacuum, remember you got the
answer right and that's why you're going to see Kylie Minogue.
Speaker 10 (15:40):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
You're welcome so much, and thank you again for what
you do. Get there safely this morning.
Speaker 3 (15:45):
Okay, thank you.
Speaker 10 (15:47):
You two have a great day.

your stories. Now, you've had many more Valentines than I have.
I haven't been in as many relationships. Do any cross
your mind as being horrible?
Speaker 2 (19:05):
Yeah, when I was in college, once I dated somebody
with my name. You know, the reason we split up
is because I didn't call to say a happy Valentine's deck.
Speaker 3 (19:12):
Oh well, that's her horror story.
Speaker 2 (19:14):
Yeah, that's her horror story in mind because I couldn't

your feet.

I was in my thirties, so maybe there in lies
the horror story.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
Well, I'm a very late bloomer. Oh, don't say that

to do anything. Wow.
Speaker 3 (21:55):
I'm sorry, Caitlin.
Speaker 4 (21:56):
Dang, that is tough. I thought getting dumped the day
after Thanksgiving was bad.
Speaker 3 (22:01):
Oh chilling. You gotta be more kind to yourself.

I'm commiserating with her. I get it, Honey, I get it.

Yeah, that takes it to a completely different level.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
So weird I felt, you know, Yeah, it is one
way to put it.

bill that imposes a county wide ban on nearly all
plastic bags at retailers. However, plastic bags would still be
permitted during the sale of prescription drugs, perishable items like meats,
and at dry cleaning businesses. And finally, according to a
recent survey, forty four percent of Americans worry that talking

Speaker 2 (24:40):
Now, nobody stayed with Toby and Chilly in the morning
because coming up next, it's an honor to talk to
Monumental Sports CEO Ted Leonsz, who is moved, so moved
by what happened when that plane crash happened over the Potomac,
that he's doing something we all should be a part
of and we all should attend. You'll f find out
what it is, you'll find out his reasoning behind doing
(25:03):
it and more as he joins us next. As Toby
and Chilly in the Morning continue, it is an honor
for us to talk to one of the men who
takes being a.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
Citizen of the DMV very seriously.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
We're Toby and Chilly in the morning at ninety seven
point one watch FM. The head of Monumental Sports and
Entertainment at ted Leonsis is here. Good morning, sir, how
are you.
Speaker 6 (25:25):
Good morning and thank you for the nice introduction.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
Well you've earned it, sir, if you really have fostered
this idea that we are better together in the nation's capital,
especially when it comes to our supporting events. And that's
why I'm not surprised to see your legacy at work.
See what we did there with Legacy on ice.
Speaker 4 (25:43):
Yes, we really think this is an amazing event that
you guys are a part of. Tell us a little
bit about how it came about and also what people
can expect.
Speaker 6 (25:52):
Well, thank you for supporting it.
Speaker 5 (25:54):
I mean, after the tragic accident over the Potomac River,
Entertainment Gang and US figure Skating came to Monumental Sports
and the Washington Capitals and then we brought in the
Community Foundation and DC Fire and EMS and said, let's
figure out a way that we can bring the community together,
(26:15):
allow people to grieve, but then support the first responders,
the skating community, and of course the families that were affected.
Speaker 6 (26:23):
So we'll be having this benefit skating event.
Speaker 5 (26:27):
Some of the world's best national figure skating teams and
dance and pairs, and past champions and Olympic skaters. We'll
all be coming a Capital One Arena, and all of
the money that we raise through sponsorship, ticket sales, merchandising
will be going to the first responders, to the families
(26:50):
that have suffered this great tragedy.
Speaker 6 (26:51):
And I'm hoping our community turns out in a big way.
Speaker 4 (26:54):
This is taking place March second, from three to five
in the afternoon. Like you said, at Capital One Arena,
tickets went on sale this week.
Speaker 5 (27:02):
We have some good momentum and I just know community
is so in touch with what happened. It's just mind
boggling what the community went through. And this will be
a way to, you know, bring everyone together to give back.
Hopefully we can raise a lot of money for all
of these great causes.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
It's not just a small amount of comfort, it's hope.
And thank you for bringing the hope when it comes
to what you're doing to help us heal after this.
Speaker 5 (27:28):
Well, you're terrific and I really appreciate it. No, it's
just a part of being part of this beautiful and
thriving community.
Speaker 6 (27:35):
Washington, d C.

is expected. And you know our commitment is to help
make Washington, d C. The greatest, most magnanimous community on
the planet. And you're a big part of it too,
so can't appreciate your support more.
