As Cole says, listen to this. You don't drown by

things that are out of your control happening. Just ask
us some of my friends who are federal employees. Right, Well,

(04:43):
here's the thing you've got to understand, and you've got
to know this, and you've just got to believe this
to be true. You drown when you stay in the water. Yes,
you might fall, but you're not going to drown if
you stay there.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
So keep it moving, take what life brings you, and
take on the day.

Something to the list. We started, well, who are.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
We to say no, Yeah, that's on the way in minutes.
Stay with us. Good morning, We're Toby and Chilly in
the morning.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
It's ninety seven point one washef M and eight sixty
six ninety two seven forty three sixty one talk back
microphones wide open too if you're listening on your iHeart
app and you're signed in. Yesterday we were talking about
the things you should not do after a breakup. Yeah,
sometimes you do, doesn't make you wrong, but there are
just some things that, according to this article that we

(06:07):
were reading, they say you should not do.

Speaker 4 (06:11):
And the number one thing was keeping tabs on your
ex through like social media.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
Yeah, please step away. From Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and all
of the things. Now, Carrie and Annapolis, you wanted to
add something to the conversation.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
Go ahead.

Speaker 6 (06:26):
I believe that your friends can remain friends with them,
it's up to them, but you should let it be
known to them that you don't want to hear anything
about them, that it's okay. You know, you're okay with
them where you know, remain in friends with them on
social media, but you don't want them to give you
any updates what they post anything.

Speaker 7 (06:46):
So you know, your.

Speaker 6 (06:47):
Friends, if they're mutual friends, just go ahead and set
the boundary. You don't want to hear anything from them thirdhand,
so you.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Should probably make sure you're not asking about them too,
because don't you think that's a sign that maybe you're
not over.

Speaker 6 (07:01):
That x Oh absolutely yes, because if you're not together, it's.

Speaker 7 (07:06):
None of your business.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
Chilly you have thoughts.

Speaker 4 (07:09):
Yeah, I think eventually you're gonna probably have to cut
ties with those mutual friends because you're both going to
be invited to celebrations. You're both going to be invited
to different events, and it's just too tempting.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
And it's awkward. Thank you.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
By the way, Carrie for jumping in from Annapolis. If
you've got thoughts on things you should not do after
a breakup, we would love to hear from you. At

Speaker 4 (07:51):
Hollywood legend Gene Hackman is done at the age of
ninety five. Police in New Mexico say he and his
wife were found dead in their Santa Fe yesterday along
with their dog. However, foul play is not suspected. There
is now one death link to a measles outbreak in Texas.
That's the first one in the US since twenty fifteen,

(08:12):
and there are at least one hundred and twenty four
current cases in the state, and the vast majority are unvaccinated.
President Trump used the first cabinet meeting of his second
term to discuss several topics yesterday. He said his administration
is working towards an end to the Russia Ukraine War,
and also mentioned tariffs against China that will be taking
effect soon. The Arlington County Republican Party says the posters

(08:36):
that feature an image of Elon Musk are not being
put up by their organization. Posters with the phrase make
Arlington Great Again reportedly have started appearing in public areas
around the county and low income DC drivers you'll soon
be able to apply to have the cost of a
camera ticket slashed in half. It's part of a pilot

(08:56):
program that is scheduled to launch this spring. Is eligible
before Snap benefits. We'll be able to apply to have
one camera ticket of one hundred dollars or less reduced
by fifty percent if the request is submitted within thirty
days of when that ticket was issued. Forecast for today,
there is a slight chance of rain this morning. Otherwise

(09:16):
a cloudy day. Sixty two to the high right now
fifty one in Gaithersburg.

Speaker 2 (09:21):
Toby and chilly in the morning at eight six, six
nine two seven forty three sixty one. Give us a
call and tell us do you think it's odd that
I like to go and see a movie more than
once in the theater? You know you go to see
the movie, then you go back and you see it
again for whatever reason. I'll tell you why it is
that I do and if you have some thoughts on this,

(09:44):
maybe you've done the same thing. Feel free to give
us a call and tap that talk back microphone if
your Sunday to your iHeart app, get involved with the
conversation this morning.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
We'll get into.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
This next six twenty six at ninety seven point one
wasch FM, Toby and Chili on the morning on a Thursday,
the twenty seventh day of February.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
Am I the only one?

Speaker 2 (10:03):
Am I the only one who goes to see a
movie more than one time in theaters? Eight six six
ninety two seven forty three sixty one is the number
of talkbacks wide open too. If you've got some thoughts,
you had your hand up, Chili, Why well.

Speaker 4 (10:16):
You saw Captain America twice and fairly quickly back to back?

Speaker 5 (10:19):
What are the reasons or what do you well?

Speaker 2 (10:22):
The first time around I went and saw it with
my significant other just because it was new, But then
I wanted to go back again on my own and
just kind of take in what I might have missed.
Sometimes there's easter eggs, I wanted to see it in
the Imax format. Didn't get a chance to do that
with her. She was going to be out of town anyway.
So I said, you know what, I'm just going to
go see Captain America again. And you know what, I

(10:45):
saw things that I didn't see the first time around,
And there were certain plot points I didn't really understand
until I saw it in full imax, you know, supervision
or whatever it is the first time around. I saw
it in laser and you just miss stuff, you know,
at least that's just me.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
Well, and so that's why you don't wait for it
to come on streaming. You want to see it on
the big screen, sure, because the experience for you.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
Is absolutely To me, there'll be time enough when I
can watch it at home. But you know what, they
make these movies for screens like Imax or for bigger
screens and whatnot, and to me, I want to see
it the way it was intended to be seen. And
it doesn't just have to be Captain America. It could
be a rom com, it could be anything. A Top

(11:28):
Gun Maverick is one that came to mind.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
It sounds like a lot of the visual stuff that
it just comes across better on a big screen or
some of the things that you look for. But I
know that a lot of people saw Wicked more than
once in theaters because there was so much going on
and it was such a visually beautiful movie that they
were like, Ooh, I want to go back and see
it again.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
Yeah, it's the emotional impact. There's the easter eggs, and
then there's the formats, But the emotional impact is something
you don't know it's going to hit you until it does,
and then you want to go back.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
And make sure you had an emotional moment.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
I can imagine with Aurana Grande and Wicked, I would
have had to see it take two or three times
in order for me to be able to feel some
sort of emotion about it.

Speaker 4 (12:07):
Yeah, I'm the streaming girl. I'll just wait for it
to come on my television.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
There'll be time enough for that after the theaters.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
After the theaters. I might see you in the theater
this weekend. But am I the only person who does this?
Feel free to let me know your thoughts. With Toby
and Chilly in the Morning at ninety seven point one
wash FM, speaking of thoughts, If anybody's thinking they'd like
to go see Kids Bop.

Speaker 8 (12:28):
Toby and Chilly's nearly impossible question.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
I want to call us now at eight sixty six,
ninety two, seven forty three sixty one to answer this question.

Speaker 4 (12:36):
The average household has ninety three excuse me, nine thousand,
three hundred dollars worth of this what is it? So,
the average household has ninety three hundred dollars worth of
this what is it?

Speaker 3 (12:50):
Kids Bop?

Speaker 2 (12:50):
Tickets up for grabs eight sixty six nine two seven
forty three sixty one. Do you want to ask the
question one more time? Or are you good with that?

Speaker 4 (12:58):
The average household has nine dollars worth of this what
is it?

Speaker 2 (13:02):
What do you think it is? Get it right? Go
to Kids Bop? And by the way, if you know
the answer, it's time to call now ninety seven point
one watch FM to a nearly impossible question. If you
don't know the answer, well keep listening because we'll learn
something together.

Speaker 3 (13:21):
Coming up.

Speaker 8 (13:22):
Toby and Chilli's nearly impossible question.

Speaker 3 (13:25):
All right, Chilli, what's that question again? One more time? Please?

Speaker 4 (13:28):
The average household has ninety three hundred dollars worth of
this what is it?

Speaker 2 (13:32):
Dustin and Charlotte Hall, You've got the question, now, what
is your guess?

Speaker 7 (13:37):
Credit card debt?

Speaker 3 (13:39):
Are you carrying a lot of it?

Speaker 2 (13:40):
At least ninety three hundred dollars worth of credit card debt?

Speaker 3 (13:43):
Or is it more. I'm not going to judge.

Speaker 7 (13:45):
I'll be honest, I'm not quite there.

Speaker 5 (13:48):
Fortunately, that's good for you.

Speaker 4 (13:50):
Another thing that's good for you, by the way, Dustin,
is that that is the correct answer. The average household
does have ninety three hundred dollars worth of credit card debt.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
Kids, I've got I have kids, but I've got twelve nieces, the.

Speaker 7 (14:04):
Nephews, so there's gonna be at least three or four
special walks.

Speaker 4 (14:48):
Academy Award winning actor Gene Hackman has died. Police say
the ninety five year old Hackman, his wife and dog
were all found dead in their Santa Fe home yesterday.
Bigger deaths are being investigated, although foul play is not suspected.
The first Cabinet meeting of Trump's second term is in
the books. Topics included the Russia Ukraine War and tariffs

(15:12):
against China. Elon Musk was also in attendance, as the
President promised that any cuts to the federal government will
not impact social Security or Medicaid. Now, some consumers and
activists are calling for an economic blackout tomorrow. The idea
is not to spend any money for twenty four hours
in a protest against corporate greed and companies that have

(15:33):
pulled back on supporting DEI efforts. Workers are being affected
by job cuts at USAID are being asked to clear
their belongings from their DC offices. They've been given fifteen
minute time slots to retrieve their stuff from the Reagan
Building either today or tomorrow based on their office and

(15:54):
while at Hub, they just came out with their list
of the most diverse cities in the entire country and
cities in Maryland claim the top three spots. Gaithersburg is
number one, followed by Silver Spring and Germantown. Forecast today
some light rain this morning, otherwise a cloudy day. Highs
around sixty two right now fifty in Springfield.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
Now that you have the news, hang out for a
few minutes so or you can call us and tell us.
So what pops into your mind when I ask you
the question, what's a harmless habit that can ruin your life?
Eight sixty six ninety two seven forty three sixty one
A harmless habit and it just totally leaves your life
in shambles. Give us a call now, tap the talkback

(16:37):
microphone to jump in if you have some early thoughts.
If not, stay there, we'll talk about it in minutes
with ninety seven point one Wash FM, Toby and Chili
in the morning. Do you ever do anything that you
thought was harmless but it ended up not being good
for you at all? Eight sixty six ninety two seven
forty three sixty one. That's the number here at ninety
seven point one Wash FM, Toby and Chilly in the

(16:58):
morning at Chili. You you learned something at a doctor's
visit this week.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
Yeah, so, you and I we take naps because of
our schedule, we don't get enough sleep overnight. Well, he
told me that my naps are actually ruining my life.
They're making things worse because it's preventing me from getting
six or more solid hours.

Speaker 5 (17:18):
Of sleep in the nighttime.

Speaker 3 (17:20):
So screw the naps, just go to bed earlier.

Speaker 5 (17:22):
Correct, that's only it.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
Was that easy, doctor, If only it was.

Speaker 5 (17:27):
That easy, I knew you'd get it.

Speaker 4 (17:29):
But have you ever been told yes by a doctor
or otherwise?

Speaker 5 (17:32):
It something that you see?

Speaker 3 (17:33):
It landed me in the hospital for two weeks.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
You know how they say don't scratch an itch because
you know you're never it's never gonna heal. Well, don't
scratch an itch because if you scratch an itch and
it opens up the skin, it opens you up to infection.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
And let's just say I got.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
An infection that they weren't sure wasn't a worse infection.
Bottom line, all I thought I was doing was relieving
the itch on my leg, and it turned out that
that opened Pandora box when it came to other things
that are still being treated today.

Speaker 5 (18:04):
Yeah, that's why you shouldn't pop pimples too. That could
cause some sort of infection.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
Pimples, scratching itches. I'm sure there's any number of things
that we could add to that list, Chad and Potomac,
good moaning and welcome. So what is it that you
thought was harmless? That's not that good for you.

Speaker 7 (18:21):
I don't know if it's harmless, But doom scrolling, man,
it's like muscle memory. If I have a free second,
I pull on my phone and stare at it, and
in a few minutes, I'm like three hours have gone
by and I've got all this negativity in my head.
I don't think doom scrolling is doing any of us
any good.

Speaker 4 (18:35):
Chad, you are so right, especially if you're a federal
worker these days.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
That's right, because you just can't find any good news
when it comes to being a federal employee these days. Chad,
thank you. Eight sixty six ninety two seven forty three
sixty one. It's harmless, but it's causing you harm. What
is it. Feel free to jump in and tell us
all about it. We love hearing what you have to
add to the conversation. Here at ninety seven point one

Maybe you can relate to what she's been through. We'll
hear her story and more coming up next with Toby
and Chili in the morning.

Speaker 8 (19:19):

Speaker 2 (19:22):
Jamie, Good morning, you have a crazy first date story
for us.

Speaker 9 (19:27):
Fire Away worked with a man just gorgeous, distinguished to
how to crush on him from.

Speaker 7 (19:32):
The day he started.

Speaker 9 (19:33):
Finally got a lunch date.

Speaker 7 (19:35):
Great conversation. Sparks are flying.

Speaker 9 (19:39):
On the way back to work, he says he has
to stop by his house.

Speaker 7 (19:42):
To pick up some files. We get there and he
invites me him.

Speaker 9 (19:46):
He shows me around, he doesn't deed pick up file,
so we get ready to leave. He's locking the door
and I start down the stairs. There's about fifteen concrete
stairs from his door down to the sidewalk up the street,
and so I take the first ca steps and stumble.
Of course I have heels and you know, everything dressed
for work. Catch my balance and he rushes over and

(20:07):
he's like, oh my god, are you okay? And we
both kind of chuckle. We're like, yeah, that, you know,
Christ is averted.

Speaker 7 (20:12):
That would have been crazy.

Speaker 9 (20:13):
So I take the next step and fall down the.

Speaker 7 (20:16):
Rest of the thirteen stairs.

Speaker 3 (20:17):
Oh wo lord, And of.

Speaker 9 (20:20):
Course he rushes down, Oh my god, it's something broken.
We need to go call an ambulance. And I'm just laughing, hysteric.

Speaker 3 (20:27):
Ruined, all because you're a hot mess.

Speaker 7 (20:30):
Exactly exactly do.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
You think you'll avoid falling down the stairs, you know,
ruining your first date chances with the guy next time?

Speaker 9 (20:41):
Yeah, I'm definitely in flats.

Speaker 7 (20:42):
I'm a flat down.

Speaker 3 (20:43):
Now, don't forget that.

Speaker 2 (20:44):
