us to feel good before five Toby and Chilly in
the Morning on ninety seven point one Wash FM. Chilli,
Why are you feeling good this early morning as we
enjoy this coffee together and shake off last night.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
It's a family related thing. I think I mentioned to
you a couple of well, it's been almost two weeks now.
My cousin had a baby, right and I get to
meet little guy tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
That is I bet are you excited? Like, is your
son coming with you?
Speaker 3 (00:34):
And you know what, here's the thing. No, my son
is not coming with me because my cousin is a
little bit nervous about having fool age, you know, because
there's a lot of germs going around yep. And it
was interesting because she was nervous telling me not to
bring Donado, and I was like, oh my god, are
you kidding me? I totally got it. You know what
(00:55):
you're talking to here?
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Yeah, I got been there, done that, and I'm neurotic
about things that are out of our control when it
comes to like my anxiety and illnesses.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
Also, when you're a two week old baby, you're not
even protected completely yet, So I'm I'm going by myself,
yeah like I was. Yeah, So no, Dinato is not
going to meet a baby cousin yet maybe in a
few weeks.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
That's very exciting though, like you know, because new babies
are like to me the most they're there. They're optimism personified,
you know what I mean, Like it's it's they're they're young,
two weeks old. It's like, you've got your entire future
ahead of you. The world might be crazy, we're going
to hell in a handbasket, in the dumpster fire, but nonetheless.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
There we're most to focus on the posta you have.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
You're a baby, and you've got your entire life ahead
of you. It's going to be good. I'm gonna get
Because I caught up with an old friend of mine,
one of my best friends that I haven't really had
the chance to see or talk with just because of life,
you know, and we had like a what what turned
what I thought would be like ten minute conversation became
like a thirty minute talk about life where we are
(02:04):
as dads. What it's like is a girl dad because
we're both girl dads and just just catching up and
it felt good. It made me really want to go
out and be like, let's go to dinner somewhere and
just just talk.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
That's awesome, you know.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Yeah, little things like this man make you feel good
as you get a new day started. We're Toby and
Chilly in the morning, and then the news shows up.
So what do we have with top stories at the
top of the hour?
Speaker 3 (02:29):

a restaurant in the DC area offering free launch to
all current and former federal workers, and I'll share all
the details in minutes.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
Stay there if you're hungry.

Top Stories, Top of the Hour, Top Stories presented by
Celsius Energy Drinks Well. There will be an almost one
month tariff delay on most products from Canada and Mexico.
They're delayed until April second. This all comes after the
President put an exemption on auto tariffs from the two
countries earlier this week, and Ukrainian officials are reportedly planning
(03:02):
to hold peace talks in Saudi Arabia next week. Representatives
of both countries will reportedly work to create a framework
for an initial ceasefire and a peace agreement with Russia.
Adnan Sayed, whose case amassed a worldwide following of serial
podcast listeners, will remain free, even though his murder conviction
will still stand. A Baltimore judge agreed to reduce Sayed's
(03:25):
sentence to time served. Montgomery County School Superintendent Thomas Taylor
is asking for more security personnel. The extra security guards
are the district's response to an uptick in violence, including
a couple of recent gun related incidents at Bethesda chevy
Chase High that led to lockdowns. Nando's Perry Perry offering

We're going to share a quote to get you into
a better headspace with the morning mindset quote.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
Your morning mindset Tokeay comes from the Great Bambino Babe Ruth.
Speak once Toby, No, not really, Yes, the Great Bambino
Babe Ruth, big baseball player. If you follow baseball, the
Babe says, never let the fear of striking out keep
you from playing the game. Too often, we're afraid in
life that we may not be good enough, that we
(05:13):
might fail. Okay, so why aren't you playing the game?
Play anyway? You know, people forget the Babe Ruth led
you know, the professional baseball league in strikeouts. But still
he's remembered as one of the greatest players ever because
when he connected with that ball, he smashed it. Don't
let the fear of striking out keep you from playing
(05:34):
the game. As the game gets started this morning. Keep
that in mind. It's your morning mindset for this Friday,
the seventh day oh March. And if it helps you,
maybe it'll help somebody else. You can find it Toby
and Chili, PAGEWATCHFM dot com, send it, share it with
somebody else that needs it, and if you don't find
it on our page, hit one of us up and
will gladly send it your way because we want you
(05:56):
to be successful today. Toby and Chili in the Morning.
It is ninety seven point one wash CHEFM. We're coming
up in just a few minutes.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
Have you ever had a moment you're using something and
you're like, God, durnny, this is one of the best
inventions in the last twenty years.
Speaker 4 (06:09):
So underrated, I know, right all the time when you
think about it, Yes, But what are some specific inventions
that have you going hmmm.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
We'll talk coming up next. Eight sixty six, nine two,
seven forty three sixty one is the number if you
want to get involved right now this morning, let's talk
about something completely underrated and underrated invention from the last
seven't know, say, twenty years. Toby and Chilly in the Morning.
It's ninety seven point one wash FM. Feel free to join.
Our conversation is Chili and I enjoy our cups of
(06:40):
coffee and get to this new day started. Underrated invention?
What's one for you?
Speaker 3 (06:45):
One hundred percent? And this is from just this week alone.
Air fryer. I've had one for years, but I never
made spina colpita in it until this week. And spinic
copita is a savory pie. It's pilo dough, spinach and feta,
and I stuck it in there. It made it in
half the time. It was like perfectly crispy on the outside.
Even my husband was like, dang, this is amazing, and
(07:07):
I go, yeah, airfrar.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
I don't know how we would about it. Would it
pass the Greek test though? Would the Greek grandmothers be
embracing of the fact that you made the spina copada
in the air frier?
Speaker 3 (07:18):
I think they would be impressed for sure.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
Once again, who knew the underrated air fryer would come
to the rescue.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
But don't you have something now that you use it?
You're like, God, I don't know how we did this
with you.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
I don't use it enough. The solo stove. Have you
seen the solo stove. It's a reinvention of the fire
pit because.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
It's not as much smoke that comes out of there,
and that's one of the Yeah, that's one of the
downsides of a real fire pit. I think that's a
great one. It's not better than the air fryer, but
I think that's a good one.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
I no, no, there's just some stuff you can only
do with the solo stove. You know, Atlantim here comes Robert.
Robert underrated invention.
Speaker 5 (07:57):
I'm gonna say the massage gun. I feel like if
people knew more about the massage gun and what it
does for your muscles and you get away that soreness,
people would invest in what in these days.
Speaker 6 (08:08):
They're pretty cheap.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
They're like forty bucks.
Speaker 5 (08:10):
That is Boslar so underrated.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
Those Sarah gun things are really intense. They're super strong
to get the knots out.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
I didn't know about the Farra gun until my significant
other introduced me to it.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
It's out.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
It's magical. It's ouch magical, but it's magical.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
What is the most underrated invention in your opinion of
the last say, twenty years, eight sixty six, ninety seven,
forty three, sixty one is the number of talkbacks wide
open two so taps. We can send us a voice
message on that talkback microphone and tell us what that is.
In your opinion. We love hearing from you and we
can't wait to do so. Sylbe and Chilly in the

We call that the news and we'll get to that

President Trump signed an executive order yesterday that delays tariffs
on all goods under the US Mexico Canada Agreement until
April second. This all comes after the President put an
exemption on auto tariffs from the same two countries on Wednesday.
A judge is ordering the Trump administration to release two
billion dollars in foreign aid payments by Monday. The President
(09:20):
has been attempting to freeze all that money to foreign
aid to usaid contractors for work that they've already completed.
DC Mayor Muriel Bowser is moving quickly to address a

County High School students may soon have to keep their
phones off and out of sight for the entire school day,
and not just during class. This week's school staff recommended
the school board adopt a stricter bell to bell policy,
which replaces the current policy of allow phone use during
passing periods and lunch. And social media really is an
(10:05):
addictive drug. Like an addictive drug, A new study found
that when you're scrolling on social media, your heart rate
slows down and you get super focused, almost like you're
in a trance. But then when you stop, your heart
rate spikes, you start sweating, and you start feeling anxious
and craving even more. Forecast for today, sunny skies later

Speaker 2 (10:26):
In just a few minutes, we're going to talk about yesterday,
we were discussing the celebrity you would take into space
with you if you could, And we're going to talk
because you've got some thoughts via talkback. We're going to
check that talkback. Apparently some people were very infatuated by
the George klooning or is that just chilling. Well, we'll
find out in minutes and by the way, if you
(10:47):
want to get involved eight sixty six, ninety two, seven
forty three sixty one talkbacks always open when you're signed
into your iHeart app, where you've got to set his
preset number one, tap speak and send at any time

to tell us coming up? Your love for George Clooney
knows no bounds? What does that even mean? Well, yesterday
(11:07):
with Toby and Chilly in the morning here on ninety
seven point one watch FM, Chilly and I were talking
about the celebrity we would take to space with us
if we could. I thought I'd be clever and get
somebody like Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill. But then Chili
comes out of left field with it.
Speaker 3 (11:22):
Is it really left field that I said I'd want
to go up to space with George Clooney?
Speaker 2 (11:25):
I mean, I mean, come on, I should have known, Yeah,
George Klooney.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
I mean maybe maybe bezos will put a civilian with celebrities. Well,
one of these.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
Bezos we're gonna put a celebrity or a civilian with
a celebrity. I'm wondering, And Cecilia just left us a
talkback message by the way, you can do so too.
If you're signed in listening to us on your iHeart app,
you tap speaking sen Cecilia is from King George. She
apparently would want to go to space with.
Speaker 6 (11:51):
I would choose Taylor Swift.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
She is someone I want to talk to about my daughter,
and I could collaborate with her cue write a song
for my daughter. You know, that's not a bad suggestion,
because if Katie Perry and Gail King are going up
in the Bezos rocket, Taylor may get foma. We want
to go up too.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
Yeah, I just think you'd need more than the seventy
seconds that it takes for anybody in a rocket to
go up there and hit the Carmen line, which is
when you officially become an astronaut.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
But yeah, but they're gonna do a lot more like
training and stuff, so Cecilia would have time to chatter up.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
Cecilia, you could cozy up to the tag, you know,
kind of the way that Chili wants to cozy up
to the George Clooney.
Speaker 3 (12:31):
That's a different cozy well, Toby.
Speaker 6 (12:34):

Speaker 2 (13:55):
Well, hopefully you have the answer to the question cheaated.
Do you cheat off when you play card games? No,
because I really don't know much about card games.
Speaker 3 (14:04):

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Yes, not means I won. That's exactly right. Congratulations, and
you didn't even have to cheat to do so. Katie Perry,

President Trump says he'll decide if he's going to revoke
the protected status for Ukrainian refugees in the coming weeks now.
There were some mixed reports yesterday about whether he would
strip two hundred and forty thousand Ukrainians of their temporary
legal status in the US. There will be an almost
one month tariff delay on most products from Canada and Mexico.
(15:19):
The tariffs are now delayed till April second. This all
comes after the President put an exemption on the auto
tariffs from the two countries on Wednesday. Transportation Secretary Sean
Duffy sent letters to DC Mayor Bowser, general Manager of
Metro Randy Clark, and also the CEO of Amtrak. This week.
He asked Bowser for report on roadway non compliance. He
(15:40):
told Clark that Metro's got to do more to reduce
crime and fair evasion, and then he also asked Amtrak
to consider allowing more federal law enforcement at Union Station
to help prevent crime. A Baltimore judge says Adnan Sayed
does not have to return to prison. He was sentenced
to life in prison for killing his former high school
girlfriend back in nineteen ninety nine, and was also featured
(16:02):
in the serial podcast Over a decade ago, which raised
questions about his conviction, and a new study shows that
AI apps like chat GPT actually display anxiety. Researchers say
that large language models actually give different output when they
receive traumatic information, and even crazier relaxation prompts can actually
(16:24):
calm them down. Forecasts four Today, it's going to be
sunny fifty two the high right now thirty two in
false Church.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
Do you think that astronauts are stuck with freeze dried
meals forever? Well, think again, because there's something that we
think might make you feel good on this Friday. It'll
bring forth all the fields. It's a groundbreaking zero gravity
of and made in partnership with a certain chef that
we know very very well in the DMV and his group,
(16:53):
and it might just change the way people in space
eat forever. And we'll start with a Spanish Omelet wait
till you hear this story. It'll make you feel good
on a Friday, And it's coming up next with Toby
and Chilly in the morning, seventeen six, Friday morning, ninety
seven point one. Wash you have them. If it brings
you all the fields, it's probably a field good Friday story.
(17:16):
That we found for you. And this one involves space
space food. The stuff they used to bring us in
school that looked like it was toothpaste or freeze dried.
But we're way past freeze dried ice cream now with
this story.
Speaker 3 (17:31):
Yeah. So there's an aerospace engineer who developed a zero
gravity cooking device and he's partnering with the Jose Andres
group to create space friendly recipes and a whole new
kind of pantry up in space instead of that same old,
same old sterilized meal they got to eat out of
those plastic pouches.
Speaker 2 (17:49):
Looks just so appetizing. Jim Sears is the founder of
sated Space, and they've designed a small spinning of and
using centrivical force, is right round and round really fast
to keep food in place while it cooks without gravity. Now, normally,
with no gravity, these ingredients they just float away if
it was a regular stovetop in space. But yeah, he
(18:13):
had this idea, and this idea caught the attention of
Siruccheris Gray, who works for Jose Andre's group, and she
got together with him and they're coming up with different
foods and they started with this Spanish omelet.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
Yeah, so she perfected it right. She used a spinning
oven and she figured out to make it delicious. So
this opens up so many possibilities for those astronauts who
are up in space for sometimes twenty months at a time,
eating the same things over and over again. And Jim
not only has this oven that spins, but he also
thought about those crumbs so they don't float away and
(18:47):
cause problems the space space and.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
Wade, you're in space for that long, you're gonna need
a little comfort food. So they're working together to create
mac and cheese and can't cook noodles and freeze, drive
to choriso and so much more overcoming those challenges Chili
just mention, and they're looking to test this cooking device
and zero to gravity on these flights that simulate being weightless.
(19:13):
Very very cool stuff and the goal obviously is to
get this creation to the International Space Station.
Speaker 3 (19:20):
Yeah, very nice. So thank you so much, Jim Sears
from Stated Space for thinking of those astronauts.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
That's right. It's a story that we think brings forth
all the fields. That's why it feels good on a Friday.
It's ninety seven point one WASHCHEFM. And if you've got
a story that feels good, that'll make you feel good
on a Friday. Share it with us so we can
share with the class. God knows we all need a
little more good in this world. You can find us
to Toby and Chilipage at washchefm dot com. Let's be
(19:48):
honest coming up next on ninety seven point one wash FM.
We all have stuff we know we should get rid of,
but we just can't bring ourselves to do it.
Speaker 3 (19:58):
Shocking amount of people apparent.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
They have a whole lot more than you might think.
Eight six six nine two seven forty three sixty one.
If you're one of those people that has something you
know you should get rid of, we're going to talk
about this. Coming up next Toby and Chilly in the Morning,
where the number is eight sixty six ninety two, seven
forty three sixty one. If you feel like you want
to jump into the conversation, and if you are signed
into your iHeart app, where you might just preseid number one.
(20:21):
Talk bag microphone works great, tap speaks Send. You can
comment on anything you hear us talk about here and
it comes right to Chiley and I in the studio.
This is staggering, but apparently there are a lot of
people who have stuff they know they should get rid of,
but they just can't bring themselves to do it. When
I say a lot of people.
Speaker 3 (20:41):
Thirty four percent. And when we say stuff, we mean
things they've literally never used or don't need. They're still
hanging on to.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
Guilty is charged?
Speaker 3 (20:50):
I know me too.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
Yeah, what do you have?
Speaker 3 (20:52):
Paint cans? Like a dozen of them. At least they've
been opened, they've been used. It's been eight years, and
they're in the garage as if we may one day
need to touch something up. But the truth of the
matter is, I bet they're all drying up right now
and they're just taking up space.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
Well, you know, but you just might need it some day.
Speaker 4 (21:10):
I know.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
Well I'm gonna I'm gonna throw them out. Now that
I've said it out loud, I realize how ridiculous that sounds.
Speaker 1 (21:16):
What.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
Actually, I've got this table. It's a table that was
made out of a wine barrel, right, and the top
is flat. It opens up and you can put stuff
in it. That sounds cool, It is cool, but I
just barely use it. It just takes up a lot
of space in the living room, and I don't have
a lot of space to begin with where I live.
So I need to say goodbye to it, I really do,
(21:38):
because it is just literally taking up space.
Speaker 3 (21:41):
That is someone else's treasure. What is the expression, your
trash or someone else's treasure?
Speaker 2 (21:45):
I bet someone would love it. If it's somebody else's treasure,
then feel free to come treasure it off my hands. Yes, well,
wait a minute, don't, please don't because I might just
need it. I really no, no, no, no, I mean
eight six six nineties, seven forty three sixty one is
the number for Toby and Chilly in the Morning. Is
there something you know you need to get rid of?
(22:07):
You know you need to get rid of it's been
sitting there, But I might need that box? What is it?
And why can't you part ways with it? Where do
you fall with that massive number? We're going to talk
about this coming up. Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues.
We'll get to that in a few Also, the news
is on the way. Top Stories. It's the top of
the hour right around eight. Stay with us on a Friday.

going to lose an hour of sleep this Sunday when
you spring forward for daylight saving Time. Don't forget you know.
(23:37):
We've heard this every year. Bills have been introduced to
make daylight saving time the year round standard, but they've
never made it far forecasts for today Sunny Sky's fifty

Speaker 2 (23:50):
Eight six six nine two seven three sixty one is
the number talkbacks wide open too. You should jump in
and tell us all about that thing that you have.
You know you need to get rid of it. It
doesn't do anything but take up space. However, you just
can't bring yourself to do it. What is it you've got?
(24:10):
Tell us the story, tell us why we'll get into
that coming up in just a few minutes. You think
you'll ever really actually get rid of all those paint cans?
Or is the road to you know where paved with
good intentions?
Speaker 3 (24:21):
I am going to get rid of them. I'm tired
of that junk.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
It's something that you should get rid of, but you
just can't bring yourself to do it. We've learned in
the last little bit that both Chili and I can
relate to this. Ninety seven point one wash FM eight
sixty six ninety two seven three sixty one is the number.
Talkbacks wide open too. If you want to jump in
and I will someday get rid of the table, the
wine barrel table that I've had forever I don't even
(24:46):
drink the wine anymore.
Speaker 3 (24:47):
I'm amazed at how much of a little bit of
horder is in all of us. With thirty four percent
of people have stuff that's not.
Speaker 2 (24:53):
Even functional in there, it's more than a third. Guilty
is charged. I can admit it, and so can Chili,
and can you admit it? We'll start over here, Steven,
thanks for listening in Oxen Hill. Are you guilty of
keeping something you should get rid of but you just
can't bring yourself to do it? What is it?
Speaker 5 (25:11):
I have a ton of T shirts, like a stupid amount.
I know it, should probably donate them or whatever, but
I still wear them all. I could probably go a
few months without wearing the same one twice.
Speaker 2 (25:21):
Stephen, thanks for a jumping into the conversation this morning.
Not going to judge.
Speaker 3 (25:25):
Well, at least you're wearing your shirts. But is that
a guy thing? Like my husband has an awful lot
of T shirts too.
Speaker 2 (25:31):
Yes, I'm not even going to try to sugarcoat it. Yes,
Lacey and silver Spring, what do you have that you
should get rid of but you just can't bring yourself
to do it?
Speaker 1 (25:41):
I have this old phone with a cracked screen and
just a terrible battery, but it's packed with.
Speaker 6 (25:46):
Mistelda khotos and messages and apps.
Speaker 3 (25:48):
I really don't want to.
Speaker 2 (25:49):
Redownload, Lacey.
Speaker 3 (25:51):
Thank you, so you'd rather look at those photos and
scroll those apps with a crack scream instead of getting
a new phone.
Speaker 2 (25:59):
Lacy, I'm not picking on you too much, but are
you what they call a digital horder? Because it sounds
like it.
Speaker 1 (26:05):
What more, Toby and Jilly head over to washupn dot
com or the iHeartRadio app.
