So my husband had a colonoscopy in an endoscopy, both
very routine procedures. And in order to do that, if
you don't know, they put you under briefly okay, and
then afterwards the doctor will come and kind of go
over the results of the test, and the doctor comes
in and we're sitting their way to he goes everything
looks great, you know, just a couple of things, maybe

(05:43):
some acid reflex going on. Oh and another thing. The
anesthesiologist believes you have sleep apnea.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
Now well, well, in order to have sleep apnea, they
would have had to physically hear some things and then
notice something about your breathing while you were under So
are you saying your husband was snoring up a storm
while he was under the influence of the anesthesia.

Speaker 5 (06:10):
His breathing was interrupted because part of sleep apne as
you stop breathing, you have interrupted breathing patterns.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
Right.

Speaker 5 (06:16):
Remember now I'm sitting there as he's saying this, smiling
and nodding my head because, as partners know, sometimes our
concerns are dismissed.

Speaker 6 (06:28):
And for over a.

Speaker 5 (06:30):
Decade I have said to Don my husband, you need
to go get a sleep study because I believe you're
snoring and all the stuff as your sleeping partner is
related to apnea, which, by the way, is a big deal.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
It's not just a nuisance. It could be dangerous, as
you know, it could be very dangerous.

Speaker 5 (06:48):
Now he has to take care of it because somebody
he trusts apparently not his wife, said.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
That he needs to go get us it.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
So after ten years it took a doctor say hey, ombre, yes,
think you got a little.

Speaker 4 (07:03):
Bit of the app nia and I.

Speaker 5 (07:04):
Cannot wait until he gets whatever he needs so that
everybody can sleep soundly and be safe. But really, death
or bad health is not is not a good option either.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
No, not a good not No, there's no good that
can come from ignoring it. Yes, and by the way,
if you've ever questioned your sleep health, you might want

first year back in office last night. We've got that
story and more on the way on ninety seven point

Speaker 6 (08:30):
Top Stories, Top of the Hour.

Speaker 5 (08:32):
The President says he is lowering costs In an address
to the nation last night, he said car prices are
down and that grocery prices are falling rapidly, and the
President said that wages for workers like construction workers are
growing at a fast rate. House Republicans they passed a
bill yesterday to ban gender transition surgeries and also hormone

(08:54):
treatments for minors, making providers subject up to ten years
in prison. The bill, however, is unlikely to advance in
the Senate without bipartisan support.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
Jeffrey Carroll has been named interim.

Speaker 5 (09:08):
Chief of DC's Police Department, replacing Chief Pamela Smith when
she steps down at the end of the month. He
will be serving through the final year of her term.
The National Guard will remain deployed in DC. After a
federal appeals Court overruled a lower court order that would
have ended the mission. The judges said that d C

(09:29):
is not a state and that the president has unique
authority to deploy the guard. A man hunt in rest
and has ended with a suspect in custody after Fairfax
County police say that he fatally shot another man inside
a home. The circumstances behind that shooting have not been released.
D C is planning a major overhaul of transportation around

(09:50):
the side of the city's new NFL Stadium. Metro officials
say much more will be spent on rail and bus improvements,
aiming for a forty p percent or rather forty percent
of fans to use public transit, and according to a
recent survey, thirty five percent of Americans plan to put
holiday purchases on a credit card, and of those, seventy

(10:14):
percent expect to carry a balance into twenty twenty six.

Right now twenty seven in Ashbourn.

Speaker 3 (10:24):
And don't forget you get the news top stories, top
of the hour when you get up with Toby and
Chilly in the morning here on ninety seven point one WASHFM.
Coming up, tis the season of holiday parties. Some of
them are white elephant parties. If you don't know what
a white elephant party is, well we'll tell you and
then we'll discuss the worst white elephant gift you've ever received.

(10:46):
That is on the way in minutes is Toby and
Chile in the Morning rolls on. It's the festive season,
ninety seven point one wash CHFM Toby and Chile in
the Morning. This weekend is a big holiday party weekend.
Some of those high holiday parties could be gimmicky, like
you know, say the white elephant Christmas parties right where
they assign a dollar amount and you have to buy

(11:08):
a gift, and there are a different criteria for what
makes something a white elephant gift, and then you.

Speaker 5 (11:15):
You know, draw numbers and then you go and pick
a random gift from under the tree and sometimes you
can steal it, just depends on the rules of the game.
It's a humorous and fun way to sort of exchange gifts.

Speaker 3 (11:27):
That's right, And this was a very fun, fun way
to exchange gifts over the weekend. However, I will say this,
there were some really doozy white elephant.

Speaker 5 (11:38):
Gifts some people like to do the gag gift that
nobody wants to get stuck with.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
There were many gag gifts of the adult variety floating
around that Christmas tree, if you know what I mean.
There were a lot of those. I did not notice
any gift cards, which would have been a good white
elephant gift.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
See, I see.

Speaker 5 (11:58):
I'm one of those people, Toby that when I take
a white elephant gift, I want people to fight over
the one I bring, So it could be lottery tickets
or like a Starbucks gift card that everybody wants.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
Nobody would have fought over the gift that I got
this year. It was like a kid's bingo game. But
it was not the worst that I've ever received.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
Really, what's the worst?

Speaker 3 (12:15):
The worst I've received was like an action figure of
a rapper in like the Wu Tang clan. I don't
even remember which rapper it was, but it wasn't any
of the big ones, so I can tell you that
it was something that probably didn't get bought and ended
up at the dollar store. U No, or maybe a
seven eleven because sometimes I see them there. Yeah, that
was the worst white elephant gift ever that I have

(12:38):
ever received.

Speaker 5 (12:40):
Yeah, well, it's worse than what I've gotten. I got
stuck with a rooster shaped platter. Well yeah, well, but
at least you could use that platter. Well not really.
I ended up donating it or giving it away to somebody.
I'm pretty sure, but yep, I did the donation thing.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
I would like to apologize to anyone who sees it
in the toy isle at good Will. Eight six six
ninety seven forty three sixty one. What was the worst
white elephant gift you've ever received? Eight six six ninety
two seven forty three sixty one is the number? Call
us now tell us all about it, or tap to

elephant gifts coming up with Toby and Chilly in the Morning,

at ninety seven point one. Watch FM Toby and Chilly
in the Morning in Port Tobacco. Hello theres Cindy So
tell us worst white elephant gift.

Speaker 5 (13:35):
I grew up in a church and we weren't allowed
to spend any money.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
We had to use something from our own home, and.

Speaker 5 (13:42):
The pastor of our church brought a use of toilet
feed in for his gift.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
Oh my god, well that's very helpful, I guess.

Speaker 5 (13:50):
Oh my god. Oh no, I can't believe he admitted
that he was the one that contributed a used toilet
seat when somebody picked it from under the tree.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
It was crazy.

Speaker 4 (14:04):
But was it clean and sanitized?

Speaker 2 (14:07):
I'm hoping it was clean and sanitized. I don't really
think it matters, folks, that's true.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
Oh my goodness.

Speaker 5 (14:15):
He basically let y'all know what he thinks of the
congregation that.

Speaker 3 (14:18):
Lord, Come on, now, I used toilet seats, not a
white elephant gift.

Speaker 5 (14:23):
We had to bring something from the house we didn't
use anymore, and that's what he brought. He clearly did
not ask himself what would Jesus do? Because I promise
that's not what Jesus would do. No.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
Oh, I don't know. Maybe he gave it its blessings.
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (14:37):
That would require many, many blessings.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
I'm just saying, that's for sure.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
And a lot of chlorox. Yes, Merry Christmas to you.

Speaker 2 (14:47):

Speaker 4 (19:12):
Ornaments on the front of the tree.

Speaker 5 (19:14):
You know if you do focus on the front and
kind of ignore them back and fill it up there,
that's true.

Speaker 4 (19:19):
That's the scammel Lamadin dom decorate, that's.

Thanks to Live Nation.

Speaker 3 (19:38):
You're going to sit in the second row to see
the Trans Siberian Orchestra. They are in town after Christmas,
and you and a friend will be there. Actually, and
now tomorrow you'll want to play and win with your
nearly impossible question because we've got front row tickets up
for grabs. Be here right around seven to ten tomorrow
morning and you could win with ninety seven point one wash.

(20:00):
We're coming up in minutes. What are you gonna do
for your girlfriend for Christmas? There, Toby, we haven't really
discussed the gift idea. Yeah, about that. I feel like
I'm being tested. I'll explain why. Coming up next is
Toby and Chilly in the Morning. Continue. I need you
to help me figure out if I'm being tested by
my significant other Toby and Chilly in the Morning. It's
ninety seven point one watch FM Chili. Let me explain.

(20:24):
She says that all she wants for Christmas, the only
thing she wants for Christmas, just one thing, A handwritten card,
a very personal, emotional handwritten card, something that I sit
down and I take the time to write something that
takes me more than just you know, like the fifteen

(20:46):
seconds sure it takes to write Merry Christmas, Love you
very much. Over the weekend I told her I was
it was over at Tyson's and she said, if I
find out that you're there getting me a gift at
Tyson's or something, I'm going to be very upset.

Speaker 5 (21:00):
Okay, Well, she told you what she wanted and what
she didn't want. You write her that heartfelt note and
you handed to her. If she gives you attitude like,
oh is this the only thing you got that is
on her Toby, she has to stick by her request.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
And so I need to just take her at her
word and stop overthinking it, because I feel like I'm
stepping into some sort of a trap.

Speaker 5 (21:24):
Has she ever misled you before? Has she ever not
said what she meant before?

Speaker 3 (21:30):
No?

Speaker 2 (21:31):
Then why would you doubt her words?

Speaker 5 (21:32):
Now? If that's genuinely all she wants, then respect it.
If you would feel better getting her something else, maybe
get it as a plan B. But I mean, if
it's going to upset her that you got her something else,
I'd stay away.

Speaker 3 (21:45):
That's a good idea, A plan B gift that I
can take back, Yeah, that you can return, don't lose
the receipt, and judge the situation as I go.

Speaker 4 (21:54):
If I get that whole look.

Speaker 3 (21:55):
Like uh huh, there is exactly after I give her
a heartfelt card mm hmm, then I know.

Speaker 5 (22:01):
And let this be a PSA for anybody who's in
any relationship. If you tell your significant other what you
want and or don't want, and they actually honor that,
then you got to keep your mouth shut and not
be unhappy that that's all they got you. And thank
you for coming to my Ted Talk.

Speaker 3 (22:19):
