(00:00):
Things are starting to get a littleweird with our kids. They're growing up,
you know, Me, Sky,Emily's kids, They're starting to get
to that age of where it's gettingweird. Man. You know Sky's kids
graduating eighth grade. Sky's been saying, how old is your daughter's guy,
she's fourteen, Sky's been saying forabout eight years, she's seven going on

(00:20):
one hundred. Yeah, she's sevengoing on twenty one. Yeah. Well
sky Sky labeled her blog today,my baby's gonna be a high schooler,
which that made me uncomfortable. Mybaby, your baby's baby. Stop.
Oh I love her, She'll alwaysbe my baby. Well that's the problem.
So I kind of feel the sameway about my daughter. My son,

(00:41):
that's a different story. What hegot invited to his first boy girl
party and I'm all about it.Whoa, we ain't done yet. It's
time for the one podcast a year, completely uncensored and unacting filtered except for
that part the show's after show starts. Now, Yeah, it's weird,

(01:07):
man. My daughter is going tobe a sophomore in high school, which
is yeah, right, that doesn'tmake any sense. No, And so
I do feel like she is mybaby and she always will be. She's
my first, so you know it'sdifferent. And she's a girl. I'm
a girl dad, and so that'sreally different. And so you know when
she gets invited to things, whenI think there's gonna be boys there,

(01:30):
there is a billion questions. Yeah, like and I'll be honest with I
kind of don't want it to happen, so I sort of, you know,
put a lot of parameters on things. You know. It's you know,
she's gone to a few school dances, and so I I got questions
about that. I remember specifically youwant to see the dress and how like
how low cut it is or ohyeah, of course not low cut at

(01:51):
all. That my world. Yeah, I mean who knows she could be
you know, changing outside, andI just know stuff like that, Like
my parents will ride to use abicycle helmet like an idiot when I rode
my bike, So I'd ride itdown the street and throw it into the
woods. You just pick it upon the way back. Tell you crashed
a few times, it's not good. Yeah. When I was a Catholic

(02:12):
school, I would you know, wear the skirt normal and then the minute
I got to school, I wouldroll it up so it was like,
whoa girl. I mean, it'scarefully school, she's got cheeks hang it
out. Do you still have that? Okay, I don't think so.
Yeah. So with my daughter,I am in there, I've a lot
of questions. I you know,I don't really want things to happen nothing

(02:36):
like that. Well, my sonis twelve and he just got invited to
buy a girl to his first boygirl party. Wow. Oh the girls
throwing it's her birthday. He's friendswith her and it's going to be all
boy girls and it goes until likenine o'clock at night. Oh it's a
house. Yeah, at her it'sa massive ranger. Because this is different

(03:00):
because like there's been you know,I'm sure that Jack's even been to these
parties probably in the past, maybelike a bowling alley or something that doesn't
count, doesn't that's not a boygirl party, you know, the difference
what a boy girl party is.Remember when you threw your first boy girl
party and how weird you were Saturdaynight fever fever? Why the fuck did
I do that? Honestly, inhindsight, like like I it was like

(03:21):
nineteen ninety seven or ninety eight,Like, why that was never cool seventh
graders like Saturday Night Fever. Well, your friends Zach Morris and Kelly Kowski
think, yeah, Screech, whatsay you look like? Jo Screech was
just downstairs talking to them on theTV and her mom and dad. Their
moms like, just let it happen, Dan, It happened, right,

(03:47):
Just that it happened. Dan,the therapist said, it's okay. It
was very popular. Okay, youI was too. Okay. Yeah,
that was different because they're dancing goingon. There was slow dancing to how
Deep is Your Love by the Begies. Dude, that's so bizarre. Any
seven minutes in Heaven, you knowwhat I mean? None of those games

(04:10):
bottles, not this one that happenedat a different one the next year.
I think. Wasn't that a bigthing in thirteen going on thirty scars?
Oh yeah, that's what happens. You got seven minutes in heaven and then
you end up in the closet withJennifer Gardner and then some some dollhouse with
some magical sprinkles. Okay, I'msorry I did this. Guy. I
remember my first boy girl party. It was a big deal. It was

(04:31):
at Halloween time and it was aHalloween party, and this was a big
deal. You know. I wasI think I was in seventh grade,
and we you know, all rolledin and there was girls that I liked
there, and so you know Idressed like a punk rocker because I was
cool. Hell yah, yeah.I mean it was really like nothing,
and that I like spray painted myhair gen mohawk. I was really stupid,

(04:58):
but you know, I was tryingto act cool the whole time.
And then the party host or whoever, they put on the Exorcist movie,
and I was so scared of thismovie that I was like, all the
girls were in there watching it,and I'm like, I don't want to
go in there. I don't wantto watch that movie. So I kind
of hung to the side. Andthen when the parts would come on,
when the extors would you know, show up, the girl, I would

(05:20):
like leave the room to go geta drink or that was such a tool,
like it sucks fun. So Ididn't get any action then. But
again I was like thirteen, fourteenyears old. So when my son comes
home and tells me I got invitedto this first you know boy girl party,
I didn't ask one question. Wait, I was freaking. I was

(05:43):
like, right on, dude,no, like, are the parents going
to be there? Have no idea. I have no idea. Drinks,
yeah, but for your daughter, you're checking outfits, you want to talk
to the parents. It's like leaveearly. But your son no ques not
a single question. I kind ofget that, do you. He's at

(06:06):
be fourteen in July? Then thewizard the wizard. Yeah, And I
feel like I wouldn't lefriend. Hehas had a girlfriend. He's not bagging
girls. He has he has hada girlfriend. It's gone through a little
bit of a dry spell. Notrisen it up. I asked him what
the deal was, Well, he'slike he's like people, he's he he's

(06:30):
he like does he think people thinkyou're with him? He's like, I
can't have this piece by me mygame. No. He told me that
he was trying to focus on baseball. How did that work out a little
bit more? Yeah, a littlebit more focusing on baseball, Like he's

(06:50):
just trying to get like I'm tryingto focus on my career, like baseball,
and like they even hang out, like they don't hang out and like
so that what's the focus taking youaway on your phone? Every night anyway
is going through a dry spell.I don't tell you. He had cool
hair and then he got like areally short haircut and I think it affected

(07:11):
his wrisz. It might have beensummertimes creeping up. His hair is actually
starting to grow back. I sawlong. It reminds me of Devin saw
Wha. Do you remember who thatwas? He was like a teen heart
throb and in the two Jo JoeSeewah. Different guy was in like Little
Giants the movie, and a coupleother like teen movies. Is that that
you mentioned? It was like inLady Bugs or something like that. No,

(07:32):
that's John. It was the movieDeper You Are a Loser. Yes,
I remember that movie. Christina Ricci'sin it and Casper. I didn't
even like it from that movie.Okay, that was later in his years.
I think he played Stan and themusic video. Yeah, he played

(07:54):
Stan and Evan had his music videoparted blonde hair. Yeah, he played
You told your son to look likethis guy. It looks like Casper looks
so cool. So if Reed comesto you and says, mom, I
got invited to a party, doyou ask questions? I mean, you
have to know I've gotta ask acouple of things. Where it's a boy

(08:15):
girl party, where is it?What drop off we'll drop off? Hell
yeah, yeah, no questions,no questions. Emily's buying them booze.
They stay later. Okay, Sky, Yes, my friend your daughter I
got invited mom to a boy girlparty. What happened? Well, Skuy
wants to go? But how wego? If I spind the bottle?

(08:37):
This is crazy? Should I getdo you guys want cigarettes? And I
can get him all off heart theold guy will pick us up. That's
her husband. I'll make sure hedoesn't wear shorts. I'm going to be
so fucked up. None of jehossI don't want either. Okay, I

(08:58):
don't want to go to the boygirl Yeah, right, go start naming
girls that are there. Do youthink Meghan or Christine's going to be there?
This is crazy because because we havebeef right now? Yeah? Fourteen
year old? Yeah, okay, the walks in get out old man the

(09:18):
exact same age. Okay, Soif my daughter got invited, yes,
I'm going to want to know alot of details, like I'm going to
want to know clearly whose party itis. Are the parents going to be
home. Can I have the parentscontact information with what well? Because I
just want to like shoot a textor whatever. And the text is under

(09:39):
the guise of like can I help, can I? But really it's just
checking that they're going to be awareof the part that they're aware of the
party. Help Yeah, would youhelp? I don't know, like can
I can I? Can I bringsome sodas or up by embarrassing my daughter?
Yeah, but really it's just underthe guise of confirm gives them parents

(10:00):
be there, She gives them alist of what love and canon cannot eat.
Make sure at this part, yeah, that she likes red wine,
not not red wine, red winenot white wine. It. I want
to know what friends she's going tobe there with, like like who's her
crew? Like who who's going tocrew? Well, who's going to have

(10:22):
your back? But she's in thatbeef with one of the bitches and then's
going to have you. There maybe a conversation about being alone with boys
you don't know, so talking aboutand which is connected to the girls who
are going to have your back? And keep an eye on? Oh god,
why are you making things so weird? You asked me what I would

(10:43):
do terrible. It's not good. That's what I would do. How do
you feel about that? Uncomfortable? You know, I mean I don't think
you're at that age yet. Askingall some of them who's going to be
there? I agree with saying areyou gonna be there? As a parent,
I get that. The other stuff, Yeah, this is the different

(11:05):
tax bracket cruise, Emily, thisis we don't understand what You're right,

my virginity when I was fifteen,so hey, hey can you can you
Okay? So I'm just gonna oncethe boy girl party start, Yes,
there will be those conversations, andyou're right, it's gonna be awkward.

(11:28):
It's o good. It hasn't happenedyet. No boy girl parties like that.
She's gonna be no, like notin all and she's like I finally
got invited guys. No, no, not in a while, like there
were boy girl parties and like friendslike even boys coming for sleepovers in like
elementary school. But now we're inright exactly now this is a whole different

(11:50):
dynamic. And no, she hasn't. She chose not to go to her
school dance and that would have been, in my opinion, her first like
boy girl thing. Didn't go toschool dance I know, yeah, none
of her friends wanted to go.Oh the two cool crew, I don't
know. I don't know what theirreasoning was. Probably because you were going to go
