Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, we heard about this happening before that. Sky and
her husband, the Boo, they've basically been on the outs
on their inner circle, you know. They they sort of
had a crew for a little while when they moved
to La Jolla. They wanted to be part of the
in crowd, and so they were getting invited to different
things and different neighborhood get togethers and parties and stuff
(00:22):
like that. But then COVID happened. Everybody was sort of
doing their own thing, and Sky and the Boot never
came back and they would still get the invites, but
then you guys just were declining.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
We're being very smart about protecting our health.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
Wait, still very selective with your you know, acceptance of
these different invites. Yeah, so the invites have trickled down,
they're not happening as much. But you just got one,
which I know you were pumped about. True, but it
turns out the Boo has RSVP'd. No thanks, We ain't
(00:57):
done yet.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
It's time one podcast yet.
Speaker 4 (01:03):
Completely uncensored and uncing filtered except for that part.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
The show's after show starts.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Now, well, that seems crazy to not run it by
the Boss first. I mean, thank you if you are
in charge of the calend then you kind of make
all the decisions when it comes to party invites and RSVPs,
and you're also in charge of correspondence.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
I'm in charge of all of it.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
We know.
Speaker 5 (01:31):
Thank yous over there.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
Oh yes, I'm very important.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
This doesn't make any sense.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
Thank you for saying that. I am still trying to
process this because this was something I was just informed
of yesterday.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
Really.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Yeah, and Eddie's right, we were invited to a lot
of stuff back in the day, and then once we
became extra shut ins, it starts trickle.
Speaker 6 (01:53):
Now.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
I still get some of the girl invites, but the
couple invites are a lot less as well, Like those
are the real ones that like I'll see the pictures
on Facebook and I'll be like, oh, they all made
pizzas together. Ye made pizza oven. They brought in a
pizza oven, and they all they all got they made
fresh dough.
Speaker 4 (02:13):
And you think they're like, well, we want to invite you,
but you always bring your daughter. Yeah, it's kind of weird.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
No, I think it's.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
Just like what Eddie said, turned down so many invitations.
We you can only give so many maybes and then
not actually show up before they're like, yeah, we're over you,
and I get it. I get it. And so, but
there has been one pretty much consistent invite that we've
(02:44):
gotten throughout the years, and that is to one of
our friends in the neighborhood. They throw a big Halloween
party every year. Like they get out the fog machine,
they send up like a DJ table. They'll put up
like a big screen in the corner of the yard
and have like freaky movies playing on it and stuff.
(03:05):
So it's it's a wild house party and it's always
a lot of fun. And we've gone pretty much every
single year. And last year did we go last year? No,
there were I think no.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
It was on the same night, didn't It.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
Was on the same night as Brewball last year, so
there was like, yeah, I think it was. Actually there
was something that last year was the one year it.
Speaker 4 (03:30):
Was something that I swear to God it was.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
There was something, and so we know we didn't go
last year, but we've I don't know the last like
dozen years we've been to this party, and so.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
I could years. You've lived in the for twelve years,
Uh yeah, twelve years.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
We moved in twenty I know, isn't that crazy yeah
by as condo, Hello la hooya. Well yeah, and so anyway,
so I kind of look forward to it because my husband,
this isn't going to shock anybody. Not the most festive guy.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
Well you know you are more of an outgoing person
who enjoys being around the company of others.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
Yes, the Boo is the complete opposite complete.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
He wants to literally be a hermit.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
Yeah, if he could move to like Mars, you know,
with with just me.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
Well, like that's the plan when you go to Oregon
Coast's basically the same what he wants.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
Yeah, but he'll still have to go to the grocery
store at the Oregon Coast on Mars. He's not going
to see anybody.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
The thing is, he used to not be this bad.
Speaker 6 (04:34):
I was going to ask you guys, because I haven't
really known him that well for long because COVID happened
and all this stuff, So he wasn't like this necessarily.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
He's always ten years ago, a bit of a socially
awkward guy. But you know you could get it out
of him, and especially a couple of cocktails, he'd loosen up. Yeah.
But but yeah, COVID, I mean it's just he's done.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
It, gave him it out and he never turned back.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
That is accurate.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
I mean I haven't seen the guy in like two years.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
Does he be guy at the party? Like he'd go
to the party, but he'd be at the guy at
the party who's kind of quiet in the corner, and
but then once you start engaging with him, like okay,
he's warming up.
Speaker 1 (05:08):
Yeah. We would have poker parties, have different things, and
he'd always come and be part of it.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
I mean they did name him the Silent Assassin because
he wouldn't speak, but then when he would have the cards,
he would like BAYM you know, but I M, yeah,
so so yeah, he's always had a touch of this.
But they're right, like COVID just gave him the green
light to shut it down. The Gallas, he'd get his
(05:37):
drink on, have fun with his friends.
Speaker 5 (05:39):
So strange to think about that he would be like that.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
And so this is where we're at now. No, but
I really liked this Halloween party that we always to
because it's like everybody. It's one of those ones where
everybody wears a costume. So even though my husband doesn't
want to wear a costume, he knows he'll stand out
even more.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
Does bone tie.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
He has done bone tie a few years, everyone behind him.
He did hippie one year. He did h slash one
year because I had like the top hat in the wig. Yes, yes,
and I was actual he was slash. It was a
couple's costume year. You guys, we were amazing. We were ahead.
(06:24):
And so I like it because this is one of
the times where he has to like have fun fun.
He has to participate because it's worse for him if
he doesn't, right, because then he stands out like a
sore thumb. So I was really looking forward to it,
and then I was kind of bummed because I'm like
looking at the calendar, like I haven't seen that in
fight yet. Have we finally been cut?
Speaker 4 (06:47):
Last year?
Speaker 2 (06:54):
I will go to last year's cat calendar.
Speaker 3 (06:55):
And look up.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
I do you keep your calendars?
Speaker 2 (07:00):
Calendars?
Speaker 6 (07:00):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (07:00):
I do? What just in case I have to like
reference back, like like a medical thing or something.
Speaker 5 (07:07):
You know who else keeps her calendars?
Speaker 3 (07:08):
My mom?
Speaker 6 (07:08):
Yeah, she's got a top of them, like dating back
I think like forty years.
Speaker 5 (07:13):
Oh that she's got all of them. They're like her
diaries that.
Speaker 4 (07:16):
By Emma A thousand dollars dress Sad Song to Emma
Bills Pay Emma Rent.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
Nomber last year on the.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
Som SO, I was starting to realize, Oh we haven't Yeah,
I haven't got a text. I haven't got a Facebook invite,
because you know, they used to do Facebook invites and
then it kind of moved over to text invites. And
so I'm like, number one, are they not having the
party this year? Or did we just not get invited?
(07:50):
And so yesterday the Hobby and I were having a
little alone adult time and we had the house to
ourselves all day yesterday. My daughter was gone until like
nine thirty last night. So we were exploring the space
and part of the space was the jacuzzie. So we
were sitting in there talking and you know, when you
soak in a jacuzzie for like two hours straight, sometimes
(08:11):
you run out of things to talk about.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
That's really unhealthy.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
I would never want to be keep Low keep two hours.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
Yeah, you get pruney, you do.
Speaker 4 (08:16):
Get, but I wouldn't want to be a pool for
two hours fifteen minutes.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
Yeah, I want to do something else a low it's
not too hot, you don't.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
Want to, but I just don't want to be in
water for two hours.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
I do, I do. I'm like a mermaid. And so
and so we're in there and we're we're chatting, and
then all of a sudden, I realize, uh, yeah, like,
let's let's talk about this party that we haven't been
invited to. And so I bring it up to him, like, yeah,
that's crazy. So and so like they are are we
not getting the invite this year? Maybe they're not having
the party. And then all of a sudden I see
(08:47):
him go oh, and his face kind of drops. He goes, yeah,
I forgot to tell you. So the husband actually was
put in charge of the invites or something this year,
So he texted the boo directly the invite like two
weeks ago, and.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
He didn't tell you.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
No, No, that's weird because I think he got weird
and like didn't respond to the text for a while
and he knew I wouldn't like that. And then he
finally responded to the text, claiming he wasn't like sick
or something and that's why he didn't text back for
a couple of days. I don't know, you.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
Guys, I don't you don't have to respond that second.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
No, no, but like no, literally like a week, like
a week went by before he texted is it he
could have just text about it?
Speaker 3 (09:33):
Wasn't like they were like, hey, what's going on?
Speaker 1 (09:35):
Man? Yeah, that would well.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
You guys, I'm sure shocking nobody that someone with social
anxiety wouldn't be the best at communicating via text. So anyway,
so okay, great, so what's going on? When? When is it?
What's our costume going to be? Like, now, let's have
that discussion. And that's when he goes, oh, yeah, the
party's on November second this year, And I'm like, ah,
(10:00):
like you always hate going to a Halloween party after Halloween.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
I would never go to always. That's weird, that's so stupid.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
You've already worn your costume, you've already kind of packed
everything away.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
You're over it.
Speaker 1 (10:11):
You're a Halloween dowt Hallween's done. It's done.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
October thirty first, it's over.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
Yeah, well that's Halloween. But then the next day, November first,
it's over.
Speaker 6 (10:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (10:20):
After after after October thirty first is the last day.
Because you've celebrated.
Speaker 3 (10:23):
Halloween, that's literally the whole month.
Speaker 6 (10:25):
Yeah, because people were had like last weekend, people were
having parties, there this week on November one, You're done.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
You don't want to do it again.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
You know, it's weird because Halloween this year is on
a Thursday, so you want to maybe have it closer
to the Halloween, so that's that Saturday.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
Yeah, that's exactly the thought.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
But no, you do it the Saturday before, like we're
doing this matter, Yes.
Speaker 4 (10:48):
Yeah, you don't do Saint Patrick's Day the day a
couple of days later.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
It's just stupid.
Speaker 4 (10:53):
Sorry, Valentine's Day is going to be, oh well it's
on a Tuesday this year, so we're gonna sell We're
gonna do a Valentine's Day on Saturday after after.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
Like that's so stupid.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
Yeah, well, I mean I get the thought. Like you said, Eddie,
it's the closest weekend day. But if it was.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Door brought up, I could wrap my head around it
because you don't have to get dressed up.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
That's it.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
Like the costume is where that that cuts it off. Yeah,
I'm sorry, no chance.
Speaker 4 (11:21):
And then Christmas is completely different because I feel like
Christmas not any time, but again I feel like I
feel like I feel like Christmas on Christmas, but the
whole month of December is like the holiday season. And
so if you want to get together post Christmas on
like twenty.
Speaker 3 (11:37):
Eight and that makes sense. And the holiday party like
a holiday.
Speaker 4 (11:39):
Part and somebody you don't do a holiday you don't
do a holiday party in January like we do our company.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
That doesn't make any sense.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
And holiday party the week before Thanksgiving.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
Oh yeah, that is weird too, and that really doesn't
make sense.
Speaker 3 (11:54):
You know, that really doesn't make sense to you.
Speaker 4 (11:58):
Yeah, there's still another and nobody loves it.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
Everybody that comes.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
So I figure the way this conversation is going to
go and the jacuzzi is we're going to discuss how
weird it is to have it on the second and
then we're going to figure out what kind of phone
it in. Costume we're going to pull out of the bin. Well,
because we don't want to go full costume. I'm thinking
because we've already been there, done that, you know what
I mean. It's after Halloween, so we'll probably do like that.
Speaker 5 (12:22):
It's not like you're going to tons of Halloween parties.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
Well, you know, I'm trick or treating, and I trick.
I guess I don't do that anymore. I guess that's
dress dressing.
Speaker 5 (12:33):
Up for but that's it.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
Yep, that's a lot.
Speaker 5 (12:36):
So we're going to.
Speaker 2 (12:38):
Phone it in and be comfy. I'm thinking, oh, we
got this old like inmate outfits, like what are we
going to be? And that's when he's just kind of
staring at me as I'm now realized I'm talking to myself,
and he goes, oh, yeah, I said we couldn't make it.
What he goes, I knew you. You know, you had
bru ball the weekend before, and it's after Halloween and
(13:01):
everything will be packed away. So I just figured we
weren't gonna go.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
No discussion. What he knows what he's doing.
Speaker 2 (13:08):
Then what divorce?
Speaker 1 (13:10):
Well, no, he doesn't want to go. If he talked
you about it, you would want to go. So he's
just gonna I came up with my reasons and I
just figured I.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
Figured you'd agree. I thought we were on this okay,
I am, and he thought when I started on my
it's weird November second ran that like, oh, yeah, here
we go. We're going down this path. She she's gonna
make the call. But once he realized that's not the
path I was going down. Who is this guy?
Speaker 1 (13:38):
Well that's wild to not run by the team captain,
thank you.
Speaker 6 (13:42):
I can't imagine if Robert did this, because I'm the
person that likes he's different than go anywhere.
Speaker 5 (13:48):
I'm a captain now. He likes to go to everything.
But if if if my husband was was like, don't
have a husband. I don't have a husband. If Robert
my man was like the bo I'd be super pissed.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
But well, okay, let's say this. For some reason, Robert
got an invite to something and he was like, I
don't feel like going to that, and he said no
on your behalf? Yeah, would you be upset?
Speaker 6 (14:10):
I'd be upset and I'd be like, okay, the control
I don't know about that, but I mean maybe, but
why would I not because both parties should.
Speaker 4 (14:17):
Be So would you So somebody texted you about a party,
you would immediately say yes or no.
Speaker 3 (14:23):
You would never say yes or no without talking to
Robert first.
Speaker 6 (14:26):
Probably not, but unless it's something that I know him
and I know he would want to go to, Like
like I know things that Robert he wants to do everything, and.
Speaker 5 (14:34):
I know that Robert loves to be a part of everything.
So it's like that's hard to grasp.
Speaker 6 (14:40):
But I feel like if he wasn't like that, I
would probably ask him if he wanted to be in
or out, because I know I'm going no matter what.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
Oh even if he's not going.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
About him, Yeah, you can't do that.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
Can't go to a.
Speaker 6 (14:50):
Party without you should write the lady and say you
want to go, if you want to go.
Speaker 5 (14:54):
Oh you don't want to go, though, well.
Speaker 4 (14:57):
Then what's gonna if what's going to happen now is
guys can do a group costume with her daughter and
then the two that one show.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
I don't think that's good.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
I
