Speaker 3 (00:20):
Kyle Brant in New York.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
We have a very special segment just moments away. It's tears,
and I'm not talking about the kind that you spilled
on your cheeks when you realize you have to wrap presidence,
get something ready for your in law's house, get your
own parents gifts and your spouse and it's all very challenging. No,
put those tears aside, maybe for next week. This is
quarterback tiers, Kyle. We're talking playoffs here.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
Maybe it's some actual tiers and people watching people get
upset about it t I e.
Speaker 4 (00:43):
R s.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
They get triggered, they get offended, they get mad, and
that's just part of the game.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
We're about to do it.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
The AFC playoff field right now is very rare because
the usual suspects, many of them are not there. So
where do you shake out? If the playoffs want to
start tomorrow? The seven quarterbacks should be in those games.
We'll tell you shortly. It's good morning Football.
Speaker 5 (01:01):
Let's roll Welcome to Good Morning Football, presented by Old Trapper.
Speaker 6 (01:21):
Josh Allen has to put on the cape every single week.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
That's a lot to put on his shoulders.
Speaker 7 (01:26):
Just play the game, don't go into it and feel
like you've got to be Superman.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
Superman, superhuman power.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Throw on the cape and see the men work hutched out.
Speaker 8 (01:36):
Hello Alan, looking for.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
The exode that he's in? How is he's not your MVP?
Speaker 7 (01:43):
The cup?
Speaker 3 (01:44):
Stanleys where he can send them? Mention your true He's
an alien, isn't it.
Speaker 7 (01:48):
Josh Allen is Superman.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
Beten heman home here, nobody contents jumped on his back.
Speaker 9 (01:53):
I came a Superman.
Speaker 10 (01:54):
No good, no go ony, never.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
Break, never cool.
Speaker 7 (01:57):
Josh Allen does it again?
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Superman, superhuman, most powerful, powerful powerfood.
Speaker 7 (02:05):
That's it.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
That's the only tier you have to care about is
Josh Allen and a Superman cape. You can't stop making
the references for that quarterback.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
But will he soar to a super Bowl?
Speaker 7 (02:14):
Oh god, it did not like doing that. We will
see all right.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
Now, we got to look at the AFC playoff picture
as a whole, specifically because while that music video of
Josh Allen was really fun and it's great to watch
and it's all heroic, he's gonna fair in the playoffs, most.
Speaker 7 (02:30):
Likely against guy's.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
Characters that he's not normally playing against. I'm talking Patrick
Mahomes not on the list anymore. We're gonna see who
is left in the AFC quarterback wise when all is
said and done in January. So here's the exercise, my
friends on GMFB today, we're going quarterback tiers. Still in
the playoff race in the AFC. You must categorize your tier,
(02:52):
you must have a theme, and you must assign quarterbacks accordingly.
Mansai first pass at a tier exercise here for you
on GMFB. Are you ready?
Speaker 7 (03:02):
I am Joe, Okay, take it away, my friend.
Speaker 10 (03:04):
Well, I got a little I got a theme for
mine and my theme is a Pokemon theme. If you
guys don't, I was a big Pokemon guy when I
was when I was young.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
Uh. And there's a there's a.
Speaker 10 (03:15):
Character called Pikachuu, and there's three evolutions of Pikachu. The
lowes is pache the second is Pikachu himself, and then
the third the highest one is right you.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
So I'm gonna talk.
Speaker 10 (03:24):
I'm gonna start with Peach you right, That's that's the
Tier three. I have three quarterbacks there, Bow Knicks, Trevor Lawrence,
and C. J.
Speaker 9 (03:34):
Stroud.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
And this is the beginning, right.
Speaker 10 (03:37):
I look at these three quarterbacks as these are guys
that I'm not too sure as to their playoff experience.
They're still young. There's still a lot to be determined
with these three young quarterbacks, and I think that as
they continue to gain their traction, I think we'll start
to see them move up the tiers. So I have Stroud, Knicks,
(03:57):
and Lawrence as my Tier three. Peach you, Mike G
is Mike G going second? Am I going through all
my tiers?
Speaker 7 (04:04):
Great question, man, t let me know where you come up.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Great question.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
All three? Okay, So then I'll go to my second tier,
which is go to Pikachu.
Speaker 10 (04:11):
Yeah, I'm going to PIKACHUW So Pikachu is Tier two.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
I have Drake May and Justin Herbert. It's hard not
for me to have someone like Drake May.
Speaker 10 (04:18):
I know he's only year two, but the level of
which he's been playing this year, I had to put
him at tier two, he's starting to evolve into what
I think a lot of people were hoping that he'd
be after a Tom Brady like dynasty, and he's starting
to make a name for himself there. And it's hard
when you're living in the shadows of number twelve. Justin Herbert.
I've always been a fan of Justin Herbert. Obviously, there
(04:39):
is a narrative about him, like many quarterbacks, and when
it comes to the playoffs, can he get a playoff win? However,
with his skill set, his size, with Jim harble on
that marriage there, with his head coach, and with the
defense and how they plan, especially the last two weeks,
I think Justin Herbert I put him in my pikachuw
Tier two Tier.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
Now for the last one, and that's tier one.
Speaker 10 (05:02):
That's the right sho now right cho is like when
you see right Chu come into the battle, you know
he's that dude. The two guys I got there is
Josh Allen and Aaron Rodgers. When Aaron Rodgers and a
lot of kids don't know about Aaron Rodgers, at least
Aaron Rodgers that we grew up watching multiple time MVP.
Don't don't don't think the old man can't sling the ball.
(05:24):
I think he's shown that this year. He's comfortable and
to kb's point yesterday, this is the most comfortable we
seen him in about three years. And then Josh Allen,
Josh Allen is modern day for NFL Superman. He does
things that not a lot of quarterbacks can do physically
and mentally.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
And when you are the reigning MVP, you are the
tier one. You are the target. So those are my
three tiers.
Speaker 10 (05:45):
Guys, it's the Pokemon tier right to Pikachu and Pichu.
Speaker 9 (05:49):
That was educational.
Speaker 7 (05:50):
I didn't know that much about the Pokemon.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
Can you name one Pokemon that's not Pikachu? No? I
can't either.
Speaker 7 (05:55):
Well he just said them to it.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
Those are different variations at Pikacha. Yes, who's like the
Scott Who's the second most frame this on on a bulbo?
I have no jar jar binks.
Speaker 7 (06:14):
I'm learning about Pokemon.
Speaker 11 (06:16):
I'm also looking at these tiers and I think there's
gonna be great. I know there's gonna be great variation
because I've already got.
Speaker 7 (06:21):
Some variation here. How did I name my tears?
Speaker 11 (06:24):
I went with let's go historical AFC quarterbacks and what
they have accomplished throughout their career when it comes to
the postseason. Now, this is really hard because a lot
of these numbers are even You don't have guys that
are really running away with it and guys that are
having terrible seasons. Here, it's kind of evenly spread. And
do you do this historically or do you do this
with what's in front of yours right now? In twenty
twenty five, I went with the latter. I went with
(06:45):
what I'm seeing right now. So let's start on tier three.
And again it's gonna look like disrespect, but it's really
not fout day stroud.
Speaker 7 (06:52):
To your disrespectful.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
The founts too right now, Like I mean, what.
Speaker 6 (06:57):
Did I do.
Speaker 7 (07:00):
Trevor Lawrence Right now, he's got a he's.
Speaker 11 (07:02):
Coming on a five touchdown game that really help the numbers.
Take that out right now because it was against the Jets,
which is fired the defensive coordinator.
Speaker 7 (07:08):
And still I'm looking for more from the numbers.
Speaker 11 (07:11):
And yeah, I know I said I'm looking at right now,
but historically, either the playoffs, he's had two games not
the best right now, had that comeback, But I want.
Speaker 7 (07:19):
To see more from Trevor Lard.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
CJ.
Speaker 11 (07:21):
Stroud starting to turn the corner here the last couple
of weeks. Really like what I'm seeing, but I'm taking
the season as a whole, and I still had some
rough moments early on, so I'm going to keep him
in Tier.
Speaker 7 (07:28):
Three right now.
Speaker 11 (07:29):
But again, those guys are playing well just like everybody else.
Speaker 7 (07:32):
Right Tier two, we're going Marino.
Speaker 11 (07:33):
We're going a guy who put up incredible numbers through
out his career, made the Super Bowl, didn't win the
Super Bowl.
Speaker 7 (07:39):
Nustin Herbert and Aaron Rodgers. Like I even thought about
Rogers Tier three. I just couldn't get there. I just
couldn't do it.
Speaker 11 (07:46):
I got right and plus I saw a little bit
of vintage Rogers, I want to say the other.
Speaker 7 (07:50):
Night, So recency biases got that in my hell, I'm
about for you.
Speaker 11 (07:53):
I got them through three, Okay, all right, So Aaron
Rodgers in Tier two along with Justin Herbert. The Herbert
thing has sort of been an up and down two
as well. Can they put it all together in the postseason.
I still love just as the quarterbacks. I got him
in tier two and on a Tier one we're going
and you're saying you got a couple of young guys
there in Bo Nicks and Drake may Or you're putting
alongside Josh Allen. Yeah, I am because of what bo
(08:15):
Nicks has been able to do and the Broncos as
a whole. Late in the game, fourth quarter when you
need your quarterback to perform. He has been outstanding this year.
So I'm going with him and Drake may I'm not
knocking him down after the other day.
Speaker 7 (08:27):
I'm not going to do that.
Speaker 11 (08:28):
Just refuse to let this last game affect me at all.
Drake may has played unbelievable football. And then Josh Allen,
he's right there. I mean, we're back to talking about
Josh Allen as a potential MVP after his performance the
other day.
Speaker 7 (08:39):
We showed the Superman intro.
Speaker 11 (08:42):
But the most impressive part of Josh Allen, and this
was the other day too as well, is that he's
not trying to be Superman.
Speaker 7 (08:48):
He is taking what is being given.
Speaker 11 (08:51):
To him right now and not trying to do too much,
which he has in the past. So Josh Allen right
now in that number one tier the Brady Tear.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
It's interesting Superman doesn't really want to be Superman. He
just has to be.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
There's a duty that calls to it. I was worried
about this segment. I just thought we were all gonna
have the same tears. And before the segment started, Gina,
our Producer's like, oh no, don't worry about that. And
then I saw Mike's and I was like, you're right,
I don't have to worry about that. So my theme, guys,
is Christmas presents. It's holiday presents. Whatever you celebrate, whatever
you might get, and like from you know, maybe your
(09:23):
least desirable to your most desirable. And here in my tears,
let's start out with clothes from Grandma.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
It's just the worst.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
You know, it's closed when you shake it and you
open and you're trying to feign interest and you just
throw it and hope for a Nintendo game.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
All right, listen close from Grandma?
Speaker 1 (09:38):
I have C. D.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
Stroud.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
I just don't think he's playing at his best this season,
his best this rookie season.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
Can play better Bo Nicks. Of course, he looks good.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
The other day he's he's very young, and he has
played much of this season. It's been fine. It just
hasn't been excellent. And then Aaron Rodgers. No one loves
Rogers more than me as a player. You guys know
that right now, compared to this field, there's no shame
in this. The fact that he's forty two and even
in the field is amazing. I don't consider this an insult.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
Tier two.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
Sometimes you go to the stocking and back in the day,
you get a gift certificate to McDonald's, a gift card.
Sometimes it would be low as fifty cents. They've used
to make fifty cent gift car certificates to McDonald's and
you could.
Speaker 3 (10:16):
Buy like fries with them, and it was awesome. It
felt like fries in your hand.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
Trevor Lawrence belongs in tier two if you're doing the
right now, and if you looked over the last month,
it's more than the Jets game. He's been excellent and
the true miracle that Liam Cohen might have pulled off
it's not getting Jacksonville to win. We may have found
a guy to unlock the Prince that was promised in
Trevor Lawrence. He's playing the best football of his career.
Herbert is nothing more justin Herbert than being tier two.
I hate to say that tier one talent. We're looking
(10:41):
for that tier two run over the next six weeks
and I hope he makes it. Drake May I think
it's a huge confident for him to be Tier two. Guys,
he's played excellent. I don't think he's gonna win MVP,
but Tier two looking down on his fellow second year
quarterback Bo Nicks is a compliment.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
And then I don't know how you guys don't have to.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
Tier one is the Gijo aircraft carrier, which, if you
grew up in the same era as I did, this
was considered the finding the city of Atlantis under the
tree for Christmas. It was a miracle. It was mythical.
Your friend's friend's cousin had it. I had it, but
I think it's only my dad bought it from me
because it was posted Boris and there's a whole heavy stuff.
Speaker 3 (11:16):
Going on there, So that's how it works. Sometimes.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
I don't know how you have anybody in the same
tier with Josh Allen. I'm not talking about their teams,
I'm not talking about their record. I don't think there's
a player in the NFL in any position that is
on tier with Josh Allen. I think Josh Allen is
right there with like Miles Garrett and that's it in
terms of best at their position.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
It's not him.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
He doesn't share the aircraft care with anybody. It's just
him standing on the deck saluting to the top, gun
anthem and thumbs up. That's my tears from aircraft carre
to close from Grandma Jamie.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
Take it away, Kyle.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
I love your tears.
Speaker 7 (11:46):
Can we leave them up?
Speaker 2 (11:47):
Because I have a couple of comments, Kyle said, I
don't know what generation you grew up in, but the
Gijo aircraft carrier is the one that hits Kyle. You
grew up in the same generation that you just exposed
yourself to, which is fifty cent McDonald's gift car Has
you never heard of that? I don't know how that
could have been possible a French Friday these days, Dawson.
Here's the thing about the McDonald's gift cards, Specifically, if
(12:08):
you're gonna go get that fifty cent fry somewhere back
in nineteen ninety four, you got to go to the
right McDonald It's like certain McDonald's hit different. They know
how to do the fry versus the one over there
by your high school.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
And that's how I feel.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
About those three quarterbacks. That Kyle just listened in those
like you got to get the right version of those
guys to find success in the postseason. And then the
clothes from Grandma. It's a great point with those three names, Kyle,
that you had listened. It's like, you don't know what
kind of quality you are going to get from your
clothes from Grandma tier I love you guys. This is
why we do it here on GMFB. From playoff quarterbacks
to Pokemon Kyle to Christmas gifts.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
Well done, my friend.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
I just have to have to clarify one thing. Back
in the day, it wasn't a card.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
It was a gift certificate on paper that felt like
an actual check that you would get. Not everything was
cards then, like it is that Dave and Busters and hotels.
Speaker 12 (12:56):
And all that.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
There was no card.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
It was an actual paper certificate with like a serrated
edge and everything. It was classy as hell, classy as
a printed make sure on it.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
It was awesome.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
It felt like a real, real document. You're gonna go
in exchange for French fries. Uh, I know, Jamie, you
have rap sheet coming in Ian. Do you resonate either
with the g I Joe aircraft carrier or a McDonald's
gift certificate or close from Graham, Which one of those
hits home for you in the nostalgia area.
Speaker 13 (13:21):
I mean the g JO Aircraft Carrier is a absolute classic.
And I was never like a big action figure guy.
I was more of like a kind of go play
outside kind of guy. So like I had a little
he Man had a little g I.
Speaker 9 (13:33):
Joe.
Speaker 7 (13:34):
Was never a big lego guy, but I.
Speaker 13 (13:36):
Would say, yeah, I mean g I Joe Aircraft Carrier
probably the only thing there that hits home for me.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
Wow, I hear wow, rap sheet Okay.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
Good to and just completely dunked on anyone who played
with toys and.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
Eighties than you playing outside while the rest of you
were playing with figuera, I mean you kissing girls.
Speaker 13 (13:55):
I wouldn't certainly wouldn't say that when I was when
I was like seven, When I was like seven, my
parents got me like a really cool castle with all
sorts of action figures and you could kind of set
them up and play war against each other. And it
was an awesome gift. It was like handmade.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
And I was literally like I don't know what the
heck to do with this thing.
Speaker 13 (14:12):
And I never really played with Hi, because I didn't
really have an imagination.
Speaker 2 (14:16):
Wow, rap sheet, which is why you're just here to
deliver the news, right, the straight facts. It's not about imagination, Okay,
it's just information.
Speaker 3 (14:24):
Rap sheet.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
Packers Bear's Saturday night game. What's the latest with Packers
star running back?
Speaker 7 (14:30):
See, I was born to do this, all right.
Speaker 13 (14:31):
Let's get to some real facts with no interpretation and
no imagination. Josh Jacobs, we will start there, the Green
Bay Packers star running back. He's dealing with a knee
injury of the past month or so ago. Now adds
ankle that injury list. Did not practice on Tuesday. But
I think it's pretty clear Jacobs is expected to gut
out this injury, probably gonna be pretty living in practice
(14:53):
throughout the year.
Speaker 3 (14:54):
But if he can get out.
Speaker 13 (14:55):
There and possibly deal with the shortness and stiffness, he
will But a little bit of TBD for his status. Well,
Christian Watson, their big play receiver who has really become
one of the Vegas keys of their offense over the
last month and a half since he's been back, except
for a chest slash shoulder injury right there, not considered
to be a major injury though I'm not saying he's
going to play on Saturday, to be determined there, but
(15:17):
at least for the long howl into the playoffs. This
is a guy who's going to be out there with
the Chicago Bears. They have some hits to their receiving
corps as well. Romer Dunes, a kind of an odd
situation last week, was officially active after missing the previous
week with the foot injury, aggravated that in warm ups,
almost ruled out before the game started. D NP this
week so far in practice, hard to imagine he is
(15:40):
out there playing. And then Luther Burton, the third of rookie,
a talented rookie who has flashed at times this year.
Speaker 7 (15:45):
He's dealing with an ankle injury.
Speaker 3 (15:47):
He has been DNP so far this week as well.
Speaker 13 (15:50):
We'll see if he's able to get on the practice
field today or tomorrow, but very possible. The Chicago Bears
are significantly shorthanded for their matchup against Green Bay Packers,
and then another big not injury situation, but situation in general.
Jaden Daniels, the Washington Commanders starting quarterback, has been shut
down for the season, not going to play the final
(16:11):
three games. He's been banged up with an elbow, with
an ankle, with a knee, with a hamstring, said a
bunch of things this year.
Speaker 3 (16:18):
This really is not for injury concerns.
Speaker 13 (16:20):
This is really more long term concerns to make sure
that by the twenty twenty sixth season he is fully
healthy and full speed ahead. So Marcus Murrioti starts the
final three games for Washington.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
I can just see seven year old Ian Rappaport receiving
a gift of a castle in the figurines and he's
all like, DNP, I don't play with those things.
Speaker 7 (16:39):
Parents, All right, mom and dad?
Speaker 3 (16:40):
No, thank you, DNP.
Speaker 7 (16:42):
He was doing it at seven years old and here
is doing it well into his career.
Speaker 3 (16:45):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
Rap sheet still to come on GMFB. Is there a
quarterback change happening in Miami? Are we going to tread
lightly with this conversation? Mike McDaniel opened up a door
yesterday with some of his comments about the quarterback spot
in South Beach, and it's going to revolver around Batman
right there, Kyle.
Speaker 1 (17:03):
The aircraft curve g I Jo was six feet long
and it costs like one hundred dollars in like nineteen
eighty seven money. It was an astronomical It was on
the top shelf of the toys.
Speaker 3 (17:12):
R Us also into the booth.
Speaker 1 (17:14):
Mike Garaffoalo and I hear in New York say we're
gonna get about awards to the best in NFL media.
I think that's Mark Schlarett there. We're gonna get Does
he get an award? Who gets them? Who deserves them?
Is it herbieing Ow?
Speaker 3 (17:26):
They'll go and Reraby at his opinions about that, We're.
Speaker 7 (17:27):
Gonna had a whole lot of hell. We're gonna get
more out me more ale.
Speaker 3 (17:29):
Yeah, we can do that, needs more ol. Right after this.
Speaker 7 (17:43):
Good Morning Football.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
Up until last weekend, there was a flicker of hope
for the Miami Dolphin season. They played well ever since
they went to Madrid, but they lost to the Steelers
on Monday night and that eliminated Miami officially from the
playoff picture. The offense looked reverted back to how they
were at the start of the season. Head coach Mike
McDaniel now who's asked to consider making it change at
the quarterback position for the rest of the season, and
(18:07):
here's what he had to say.
Speaker 8 (18:10):
The quarterback play last night was not good enough, and
so for me, everything's on the table.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
There's still a lot left in the day.
Speaker 8 (18:19):
Like I said before, fourteen hours removed from the game.
So you know, I don't trivialize any decision I make,
particularly you know, one where someone touches the ball every play.
So there's multiple things that have to be thought through.
But ultimately we need to have better play at that position.
Speaker 7 (18:40):
Yeah, that's the reality.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
Because tuatungue of Iiloa leads the NFL right now in
interceptions this season with fifteen. He's backed up on the
depth chart for the Dolphins by Zach Wilson and rookie Quinn. Yours,
Mike Garafalo, can you extrapolate at all in this situation
going on in Miami?
Speaker 11 (18:55):
How much extrapolating do you need? Because I think the
quote said a lot right there. I mean, this is
on the table. Everything's on the table. That's not a
great sign. Now it's a complicated issue here for the
Dolphins for multiple reasons. Let's start with the elephant in
the room, the fifty four million dollars that Tua Tunguabailoa
has fully guaranteed next year. So to be able or
(19:16):
to potentially make a change right now, what are you
saying about next year? And I know that there's been
some talk, well, if they do this, maybe they're taking
him off the field so that he doesn't get hurt
and potentially trigger more and maybe affect his trade value.
Right Like, if you're potentially benching a guy and you've
got that fifty four million on top of it that
a team would have to take on the market, what
(19:37):
is the market for that?
Speaker 7 (19:38):
Like, I mean, you could potentially eat some of that.
I mean, we're that's the next step.
Speaker 11 (19:42):
But the question is who's making that decision, Because we're
looking at the potential for.
Speaker 7 (19:47):
A coaching change here now.
Speaker 11 (19:48):
Mike McDaniel has gotten this team to respond, and a
lot of people think that there won't be a change
at the head coaching position. We've got an interim GM
right now in Miami in champ Kelly, and there's going
to be a full search there for the general manager
potentially that situation as well. Now, the other part of this,
and you mentioned that the depth chart, Jamie, You've got
Zach Wilson there, but you've also got Quinn yours. You're
(20:10):
a rookie seventh rounder who during the preseason in training camp,
we saw some spurts from him, and there some potential
for a guy that a lot of people considered at
one point much higher than a seventh round pick. So
is this a chance for you to get him in
there and see him and see what you've got in
him as a potential quarterback of the future.
Speaker 7 (20:28):
There's a lot going on here.
Speaker 11 (20:30):
McDaniel intimated that we will find out more today when
the team returns to practice. They're on a little bit
of a later schedule today because of the Monday night
game and traveling back. But I think today could be
a pivotal day for the Miami Dolphins in a lot
of ways. Because when you say everything's on the table
with Tua tongue by low who did not play well
the other day, Mantai, that opens the door for a
lot of things.
Speaker 10 (20:51):
Buddy, Yeah, And you can't fault the Dolphins for trying
to do what's best for their franchise and listen to it.
Understands that from a business standpoint. He said after the
game that he felt he left he let his teammates down.
The NFL is all about what have you done for me? Lately,
and I think Tool would be the first to admit
that what he's done for the Miami Dolphins lately hasn't
(21:12):
been good enough.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
And listen, this is going to.
Speaker 10 (21:15):
Be the first time that a franchise benched a franchise
quarterback in an attempt to put their team.
Speaker 3 (21:22):
In the best position to win.
Speaker 10 (21:24):
And I think the equation and the question that they
have to ask themselves is does number one give you
a better opportunity today and at the end of the
twenty twenty five season to win football games or does
somebody else on the.
Speaker 3 (21:36):
Depth chart do so.
Speaker 10 (21:37):
If they feel like somebody else does, they will play them.
And I don't think that Tool or myself or anybody
who is a fan of the game of football or
the Miami Dolphins will fault them for that. It's part
of the process, as part of the business. At the
end of the day, it is a game that is
run by a business, and if you don't produce at
the level that we feel you're supposed or at your
team feels they're supposed to, there are going to be
changes that have been made. And it's going to happen
(21:59):
for everybody in the NFL, regardless if you're a franchise
quarterback or somebody that's on Parctice squad, you've got to
be able to put forth some some value.
Speaker 3 (22:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (22:07):
Listen, there's a two A hive out there, and I
respect it, and I think even the two A hive
is pretty quiet right now because there are people who
can get into the numbers and analytics that can point
out to his assets.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
You can get into the tape.
Speaker 1 (22:18):
There's all sorts of ways to justify him and to
glorify him. The problem is that he just doesn't have
it from the hip unsophisticated analysis. He doesn't seem like
a few years now, like the guy who's like, that's
my guy who's gonna win playoff games.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
That's my guy.
Speaker 1 (22:33):
And that is the most important test, whether you're a coach,
whether you're just a fan on the couch, if.
Speaker 3 (22:37):
You can see the guys who are going to win
playoff games. Drake May is going to win some playoff games.
We know that already.
Speaker 1 (22:43):
It's been very rare at a time and to his career,
and there have been times fleeting times when you're like, oh,
hell yeah, well I think we can win playoff games
with Tua. In January Yeah. The contract situation is an
absolute mess. And this is yet another byproduct of the
absence of a middle class and quarterbacks, where if you're
a certain age and you play at a certain level,
you have to get a massive, massive amount of money,
(23:03):
even if you're not worth that amount of money, like
Tua is not, It's still sitting there. Lastly, all I
want for Christmas is a Zach Wilson comeback story in
a year when we got Daniel Jones, Sam Darnold again,
Mac Jones, I want that guy. Why can't he have
his turn? This guy who is eviscerated worry number zero?
Speaker 3 (23:23):
Oh my god? Is he number zero on the Dolphins?
Is that true? Mike?
Speaker 1 (23:29):
A picture seems to say that he is the number
that he's wearing.
Speaker 3 (23:31):
I don't even know this.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
This would be amazing, and I hope it's something about
like the number of people who believed in him after the.
Speaker 3 (23:37):
Jets got rid of him, or a special thing like that.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
Zach, you little dimple faced, a wrong armed demon. I
want you out there, baby, you deserve it. If all
those other guys can have their second shot, give me
Zach Wilson playing out a string In the last couple
of games for a bad Dolphins team and.
Speaker 3 (23:53):
Just lighting it the hell up. What numbers he might there? Zero?
Speaker 1 (23:57):
And that's exactly the number of options you have outside
of Zach Wilson. If you asked me number zero, z dub,
who are you?
Speaker 3 (24:05):
Light it up? I want the.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
Jersey already, put it under the tree, I asked my wife.
I want some vinyl records and some meat smoking stuff. Nay,
I want to teal zero Zach Wilson jersey that I
will wear with fist in the air rooting for him
in the final.
Speaker 7 (24:21):
A to his contract.
Speaker 11 (24:22):
And also Zach Wilson's contract, they got like six million,
two of the best contracts for the players in the
history of the day.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
The college football bul season and playoffs are here. So
with that, we have to check in on some draft
prospects with the executive director of the Panini Senior Bowl,
Drew Fabian to what's.
Speaker 9 (24:39):
Going on, Drew?
Speaker 3 (24:41):
I mean, how you doing?
Speaker 9 (24:42):
Hey, what's going on?
Speaker 3 (24:44):
Oh?
Speaker 7 (24:44):
We have so much to talk about.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
We are getting closer and closer to the Senior Bowl
roster reveal, which is happening on January fourteenth.
Speaker 3 (24:51):
What do we need to know before this epic day?
Speaker 14 (24:54):
Well, you know again, it's it's a great time to
tune in because right now we'd over one hundred acceptances
within eighteen days when Ashley the Invice actually left building.
So it's going fast and furious right now. So by
the time we get to in January thirteenth, it'll be big.
And you know, there's there's some positions of need for
some teams, there's a positions you know, they're real fertile
(25:17):
this year, but there are also some ones that are
a little bit lower.
Speaker 9 (25:20):
So tune in and you know, be part of that.
Speaker 14 (25:22):
And we also have a uniform reveal on January tenth
here at Dex Sporting Goods, and we're going back to
the old school.
Speaker 9 (25:29):
We're going back to the red, white and blue.
Speaker 3 (25:30):
Now nice, I love that.
Speaker 1 (25:32):
I love that.
Speaker 10 (25:32):
Now, Drew, you mentioned there's whole bunch of people, whole
bunch of guys, whole bunch of different positions, but not
a lot of guys win the Heisman Trophy. Fernando Mendoza
won the Heisman this past weekend.
Speaker 3 (25:41):
What is your take on his on his pro potential.
Speaker 14 (25:44):
I mean, I think he's a starter in the NFL,
hands down, I mean, not even close. I brought him
up back in August. When I told, you know, my
first appearance, I'm good morning football. I said, I'm really
looking forward to seeing Fernanda Mendoza because I saw him
carve up Auburn last year. You know, when he was
a cal and Auburn was really good on defense. He's
kind of proved me out. He's performed really, really well.
He controls the lot a scrimmage real well. He's ahead
(26:05):
of some of the quarterbacks just because you know, he
can ida Mike, he can slide to protection, he can
change the protection, he knows where his hots are.
Speaker 9 (26:12):
He's kind of ahead of it.
Speaker 14 (26:13):
So I think he's not going to have an issue
with coming in pretty early and competing for a starting
position and excelling.
Speaker 2 (26:20):
It's always a good feeling when you can call out
a guy name him before the season starts. But as
it unfolded, beyond Fernando, what other quarterbacks did you have your.
Speaker 7 (26:28):
Eye on in this class?
Speaker 14 (26:29):
Well, I'm gonna I'm gonna break up some of the
ones we already have accepted. Sawyer Robertson. He's one of
the best pure passers in college football. You know, it
was almost like catch up for him most of the
time they were giving up a lot of points, so
they were scoring a lot of points, and he led
to you know, the NCAA in passing yardage. I want
him to just come down here and spend it like
I saw him spind it at the Manning Academy.
Speaker 9 (26:49):
And then Taylor Green also accepted.
Speaker 14 (26:51):
And Taylor is kind of a really nice mix of
you know, athletic dual threat quarterback that you know is
streaky and you know, he can get really hot, but
he can get a little bit cold at times.
Speaker 9 (27:02):
I just want to see him come down here and.
Speaker 14 (27:03):
Show everybody how system he can be, and you know,
hopefully that will increase his draft stock.
Speaker 10 (27:08):
Also, Jarre, let's go outside of quarterbacks for a little bit.
With the bowl games and college football playoffs coming around
the corner. Give me a few players that I should
be watching for.
Speaker 14 (27:17):
You know, the one I'm kind of interested in seeing.
It gets kind of a combination because you know, I'd
like them both in the game, and it's Caaden Proctor
and you know, and our Mason Thomas. I want to
see them mash up, you know, this week because r.
Thomas is a really good edge rusher and you know,
Caiden Proctor is a very good offensive tackle.
Speaker 6 (27:35):
You know.
Speaker 14 (27:35):
The other one I'm looking forward to is I'm seeing
Kiante Scott coming back from a you know, slight injury,
and I want to see how he's going to perform,
you know, in the Miami game.
Speaker 9 (27:42):
Against A and M. So those are the two that
I'm kind of keep my own.
Speaker 14 (27:46):
And I've got a little bit of, you know, soft
spot for Kiante because I recruited him at Auburn too.
Speaker 2 (27:50):
That's awesome, Oh man, Drew, we love it. We can't
wait for January fourteenth and beyond with the Panini Senior Ball.
We love checking in with you to see which players
are headed to Mobile. When you reveal that on Move
the Sticks, it is Panini Senior Ball Director Drew baby Honis.
Everybody watch our reveal show on January fourteenth, seven am
Eastern on NFL Network. Thank you so much, Drewe thanks Sue,
thank you, Jammy, thank you, benj Absolutely well, we know
(28:13):
how that's going to go, Sherry Burris. For some of
those players who are going to participate in the Senior Bowl,
they're going to be on their p's and q's on
the best way to play. But we got to check
in on the NFL with that.
Speaker 15 (28:22):
We do, and you know, Jamie, we start in high school.
But the NFL Way to Play Awards are fueled by Gatorade.
They are created to recognized im reboard players who use
proper playing techniques at all levels. Like I said, those
guys in high school.
Speaker 3 (28:33):
This week, it's a touchdown.
Speaker 15 (28:35):
Grab, grabbing our retention and with more ears. Former Jets
and Dolphins quarterback, current high school head football coach in Lexington, Kentucky.
Speaker 3 (28:42):
It is Chad Pennington.
Speaker 6 (28:44):
This week's winter is Aiden Williams from Milton High School
in Milton, Georgia. Great way to play stance, shoulders over knee,
sin over toe's and.
Speaker 3 (28:52):
Then look at this approach.
Speaker 6 (28:53):
A lot of times receivers will take too much time
on the line of scrimmage versus press coverage. Aiden does not.
He's very definitive, gets to the outside. Second thing he
does is to keep his shoulders square on the field
to maintain his speed. Finally, his finished, his phenomenal goes
up in traffic to make this play.
Speaker 9 (29:12):
Comes back to make this play.
Speaker 6 (29:13):
Two hands, catching this football, tucking it away, taking it
to the ground from the touchdown from Milton High School.
Speaker 9 (29:20):
Wow, what a way to play.
Speaker 6 (29:21):
Congratulations eight.
Speaker 3 (29:24):
The finish is phenomenal.
Speaker 7 (29:25):
Ed it in a touchdown.
Speaker 15 (29:26):
In honor of the terrific way to play example, the
NFL Foundation will award a three thousand dollars equipment grant
through USA Football two of the Milton Eagles. Learn more
about NFL way to play check out Playfootball dot NFL
dot com. We're gonna have another great way to play
example next week right here, but coming up on GMFB,
Kylon Mike g taking us to the booth. Don't go anywhere,
(29:58):
good mon.
Speaker 1 (30:02):
You are looking live Manhattan Island, New York City, New York,
the capital of media on the planet Earth. And that
is why we take that scenic and bring us into
the studio here with Mike Carrifolo and myself, we do
into the booth, referencing that moment in the broadcast.
Speaker 3 (30:16):
We always go into the booth as we see there
with Treykman.
Speaker 1 (30:19):
This is our booth and it is our opportunity, Mike,
to award and to applaud the men and women in broadcast.
Speaker 3 (30:24):
And we respected this week and did incredible worker.
Speaker 11 (30:26):
Absolutely get to see them out in the field. I
had Evan Washburn with me in New England and it
was so cold. Evan Washburn put a hat on.
Speaker 3 (30:34):
You know you gotta cover that beautiful hair.
Speaker 7 (30:36):
I couldn't believe it.
Speaker 3 (30:37):
Incredible stuff.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
We have a Meryl Streep in this award now in
this show every single week and it's Iron and JJ
with CBS.
Speaker 3 (30:45):
You know, a'm I an eagle, JJ.
Speaker 1 (30:46):
Watt And when Trevon Henderson reversed his field with the
franchise quarterback out in front of him, they gave us
our award for best play call of the Week.
Speaker 4 (30:55):
Fire in the hole, Henderson belch us away and Henderson
is off to the races.
Speaker 3 (31:00):
Look at Mary, does he have another one in a
mace coming? Uh touchdown?
Speaker 7 (31:06):
Good Bye Travion Henderson, Drake.
Speaker 3 (31:10):
May leading the way, what a block?
Speaker 7 (31:15):
What reels?
Speaker 14 (31:17):
You shall be served in New England May the second
year QB. Henderson the rookie running back, and the Patriots
regained the lead.
Speaker 3 (31:27):
So here's what I see there.
Speaker 1 (31:28):
The chemistry you see, Mike, is that in the middle
of the play, it is tricky for the color commentator
to interject while the play is still going on. Most
of them lay out to well after the play and
let the play back pay go because if.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
You interject, you're gonna step on each other.
Speaker 1 (31:41):
It was perfect and seamless and JJ's look at May
what a block and they never once stepped on each other.
Speaker 3 (31:47):
That's like chemistry. It takes years and they picked it
up so quickly. Amazing.
Speaker 11 (31:50):
Yeah, these guys have been fantastic. They've been entertaining, they've
been funny. They get each other's humor. That's a big
part of it as well, because we've got.
Speaker 7 (31:57):
Some teams out there where that's not happening.
Speaker 1 (31:59):
And this was straight football. Do the pop culture and
they do the office runs. This is straight football.
Speaker 3 (32:04):
Huge moment, huge game. That is our call of the week. What.
Speaker 11 (32:06):
Yes, they are five tool players and they're finding multiple
ways inside into the booth here. So let's go to
Kevin Harlan, a guy who is a repeat award winner
here as well.
Speaker 7 (32:16):
I don't even want to set it up as you
want to go for it.
Speaker 4 (32:18):
Chief game, third down eleven, I'm the twenty. The defense
is putting their hold on it. Videl is the back.
Here comes the blitz. Pi Edwards Hentersy throws intercepted and
picked off on the plage Chalati for rookie. That's a
thick pick inside the twenty Oh. He's a big man
(32:40):
with a lot of hair.
Speaker 11 (32:43):
That was the best part, right, like the thick pick itself.
He'd already I'm on. Ali is our guy here in
New York, and we're emailing him.
Speaker 9 (32:51):
Throughout the day.
Speaker 11 (32:52):
And it's one of those where yeah, I got it,
I got it, no problem, We're all on the same page.
As soon as you hear that, you go, this is
going to make.
Speaker 7 (32:57):
Into the booth thick pick.
Speaker 11 (32:59):
But then he's a big man with a lot of hair,
just like stating the obvious.
Speaker 7 (33:02):
But doing it in the Kevin Harlan the way.
Speaker 3 (33:03):
It's amazing.
Speaker 1 (33:04):
Harlan seen so many games in so many sports, but
when he sees a large man intercept the ball, he
like rolls the sleeves up and it's time to eat.
It's a perfect call. You could hear the excitement escalate.
Best word choice, Best turn of phrase. Shout out to Fox,
Jason Bennetti and Robert Griffin. The third Bryce Young throws
a beautiful kind of arcing touchdown pass that drops in
here and it's a beautiful phrase that was used second and.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
Twenty one this is a run or screen down.
Speaker 14 (33:29):
They just got it off, very loud, crowd right now,
Young launching near side, Hey drops it in for Cocher.
Speaker 3 (33:37):
What a rainbow. Oh my goodness. The dB was thinking
the same thing. I was so runner screen down.
Speaker 12 (33:46):
They throw a bomb shot for a touchdown, and you're
gonna see Coker run up on his toes, get outside,
save some space on the sideline for the quarterback. And
Bryce Young finds the Wi Fi connection and air drops
a beauty in there to Jalen Cocher for a touchdown.
Speaker 1 (34:03):
It's really well, don't sleep on He dropped in a
quick telestrator too, while he was loading up that Wi
Fi air drop. We've heard a lot of touchdown calls, Mike,
I can't say I've ever heard the Wi Fi connect
to air drop, referencing that I haven't seen their late.
Speaker 11 (34:16):
Career RG three when he was with the Ravens, and
I covered a bunch of Baltimore games and I'd go
right to his locker during the week to get there.
I mean, he was his knowledge of the game, his
way of describing stuff. I said, this is going to
translate well to TV, and he's doing a fantastic job
as the color commentator.
Speaker 7 (34:30):
Sup barg three.
Speaker 3 (34:31):
Now that's Tiper.
Speaker 7 (34:31):
This is a new category I think for us best.
Speaker 11 (34:33):
Dad Joe Wheelhouse, Though Frost, Jim Nantz, Tony Romo taking
away a little Jordan Humphrey.
Speaker 16 (34:39):
Bronco's trying to regain the lead.
Speaker 3 (34:42):
They've been a dangerous team.
Speaker 16 (34:43):
In the last two minutes, and Sutton has caught four
touchdowns in the last two minutes of the first half.
Here he is on second Ago Nick's throwing goal line
and it's a touchdown. The Jordan, Little Jordan Humphrey, he's
not so little now He's coming up big, big Jordan Humphrey, Big.
Speaker 7 (35:04):
Jordan Humphrey, right there, Little Jordan Humphrey.
Speaker 1 (35:07):
Lou loul is at one point when when he gets
deeper in his career, Well, he dropped the little didn't
little bow Wow dropped the little yes said point. In
my imagination, little Jordan Humphrey has a brother named Little
Penny Humphrey because little Penny.
Speaker 3 (35:21):
Was the man back. That was Tyra Banks Pool.
Speaker 11 (35:23):
I missed love, but I remember about Little Jordan Humphrey
the year you know, he did the breakdown of the
NFL Network picture in the one year Rappaport had in
his hand, and you triangulated the time and everything. You
were like, this is what he tweeted out that in
the middle of little Jordan Humphrey was signing with somebody.
Speaker 1 (35:37):
He's been The last thing that he had tweeted before
the picture was a little Jordan Humphrey yesday and here
he is still was I you were right speaking of
this best fact check. This was really good television. I
remember watching this live. So you're on the Fox set
in Los Angeles. You got Aaron Andrews, you have Carissa Thompson,
and you have Tom Brady on set sitting next to
Gronk at Al and they outed Brady for gifting his
(35:58):
two thousand and seven teammates s u v's Wow.
Speaker 3 (36:02):
Incredible, but they found a little catch. Take it away, ladies.
Speaker 1 (36:05):
Two thousand and seven Tom Brady, of course, that's when
his team went undefeated in the regular season.
Speaker 3 (36:12):
He gifted his O line ready brand new luxury SUVs.
What a class act.
Speaker 9 (36:22):
You want to die.
Speaker 7 (36:23):
The catch to all this is the cars were on
a one year lead.
Speaker 3 (36:35):
It's incredible. It's by the way, it's great work by
them of finding that. I'm presenting it town. We did
the math on this. Apparently the subs were oud EQ
seven SUV's. It's a nice car.
Speaker 1 (36:45):
According to our math back then in seven Brady basically
spent thirty one grand to let's say the least for
one day.
Speaker 3 (36:52):
Though, what you think it was on the arm? What
are you suggesting?
Speaker 7 (36:56):
I'm suggesting that at this time of year you see
a lot of Wow.
Speaker 11 (36:59):
What a generous gift from the quarterback toward his offensive life. Guess,
a gift that's totally answered under his umbrella of endorsements.
Speaker 3 (37:06):
I'm just our math.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
Well to that point, Mike our math says, if he
had just purchased them, and he probably would have got
a discount for many reasons, right, two hundred and seven
thousand dollars to buy five of them flat out.
Speaker 3 (37:17):
But he didn't. And I think it's actually kind of funny.
Speaker 7 (37:20):
It is, but also you look back and you say, well,
he got a free car.
Speaker 3 (37:23):
For a year. Pretty awesome.
Speaker 7 (37:25):
It is pretty awesome even if it's that. But I
love that Aaron and Carissa screamed up excellent.
Speaker 11 (37:30):
I mean, I mean, you're coming for the king here,
you better not miss And they didn't because he was like, hey,
you got me.
Speaker 7 (37:35):
Beggars can't be choosers.
Speaker 1 (37:36):
I imagin at the end of that year the time
to turn back in the Brady Car. I put one
hundred thousand miles on it in that year. All right,
let's end with this.
Speaker 3 (37:43):
Yes, go ahead, Mike vomos up, Pittsburgh go. Let's go
for the best postgame interview.
Speaker 11 (37:49):
John Seckcliffe and Aaron Rodgers take it away.
Speaker 3 (37:51):
Comosa, you love this, Francis you seem happy?
Speaker 10 (37:57):
Yeah, I actually understood what you were saying there, and
I do love I love being here in the city.
Speaker 3 (38:02):
I love the organization. But my one question, where the
hell is my tequila?
Speaker 1 (38:06):
Right?
Speaker 3 (38:11):
Is ouhna bostress man football Monday Night minimal?
Speaker 11 (38:20):
So the question so he would ask the question love
man's John Suckibu asked, then he would ask it in English,
and then Rogers would answer in English.
Speaker 7 (38:28):
But there was no translation, so I didn't know quite
the flow of that. I mean, John Sucker's got a
bound bounce all this, He's also got his Monday Night
football stick.
Speaker 11 (38:37):
Uh, and Eron Rodgers like, oh, I understood that's me
when my wife is talking to my nanny, and I go,
oh wait, I got that one.
Speaker 10 (38:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (38:44):
I like watching Rogers face during these interviews because you
can tell he gets like every third or fourth word,
just like we're all kind of going back to Spanish
one of my life and Rogers is kind of like
he mentioned.
Speaker 3 (38:54):
Bank t bain Ty. Okay, that's twenty twenty. I know
that one. It's kind of like when you listen to
the job of the Hot Talk, he'll be.
Speaker 1 (38:59):
Like that Chewbaca, like you get like every fifth word,
and in that case, fantastic interview. We love you, Aaron Rodgers,
Love you John Suckcliffe.
Speaker 3 (39:08):
That was into the booth Wednesday morning. Look, thankla Tekia.
Speaker 7 (39:15):
Oh go on, it's time for what's your beef?
Speaker 3 (39:18):
Presented by old Trapper.
Speaker 7 (39:20):
I can let you get it over, man, I just
need a home.
Speaker 1 (39:24):
Hey.
Speaker 3 (39:24):
Can I get this coming bout? Or you got it? Absolutely? Yo,
you're keep going vercation? Hey you hey, get that three
thousand bro, we'll.
Speaker 4 (39:32):
Do We'll do.
Speaker 3 (39:32):
Good luck to you.
Speaker 1 (39:35):
That's funny because of course Miles Garrett means four thousand.
But I think it's really cool that he's aware of
it and he acknowledges a young quarterback and supports him
after he was just chasing him around.
Speaker 3 (39:42):
For four quarters.
Speaker 1 (39:43):
I also have seen other media members and social media
accounts who are tracking Caleb's quest for four thousand how
many yards and us the average and so on and
so forth. As a football guy and as a native
Chicago and I could not give less of a damn
if Caleb Williams throws for four thousand yards. Time was
the Bears being the only team in the NFL who
never had a four thousand year passer.
Speaker 3 (40:05):
It was a punchline.
Speaker 1 (40:06):
It was a pock mark on the Bears from years
of bad offenses and bad teams. And it was an
embarrassment that they were the last franchise invited to the
party of the modern offense. But now they're a ten
win team. They have a brilliant head coach, they have
a superstar and waiting quarterback. They're trying to be the
best team in their division, even their conference. Who cares
(40:28):
what statistical number of passing yards Caleb lands on. It
is small times, statistical loser stuff. Do you know the
reason Caleb likely won't hit four thousand yards? It's not
because the Bears passing game isn't good. It's because their
running game is good, because their defense is good, Caleb's
not going to throw for four thousand yards because Caleb's
(40:49):
not going to have to. That's no longer a pop mark,
that's a flex. In fact, I openly hope he doesn't
do it. Dak Prescott's going to pass four thousand yards
this weekend.
Speaker 3 (40:58):
How's his season going?
Speaker 1 (41:00):
Last season's League MVP didn't throw for four thousand yards?
Super Bowl MVP didn't throw for three thousand yards, but
Joe Burrow threw for nearly five thousand last year.
Speaker 3 (41:10):
Hod his season go?
Speaker 1 (41:12):
Caleb will hit four thousand yards some year. It's inevitable,
and it will be lame and a petty side story
in the context of everything else he's doing for that franchise.
I don't care that a Bears quarterback hasn't thrown for
four thousand yards and over a century. I care that
a Bear's quarterback hasn't thrown for one yard in a
playoff win in over a decade. That's the streak you
(41:33):
should care about, and I know for a fact that's
the one that Caleb cares about.
Speaker 7 (41:37):
All Right, thank you, I think that's great. I was
thinking about this recently.
Speaker 11 (41:41):
I think it was a good preseason thing to track
in a good preseason goal because the byproduct was everybody
who's gonna be playing, well, that's number one.
Speaker 3 (41:48):
Number two.
Speaker 11 (41:49):
What if they don't need the game in week eighteen
and he needs like.
Speaker 7 (41:51):
One hundred and seventy five yards, Kyle, what do you do?
Speaker 3 (41:53):
Then? Get him, set him, get him out.
Speaker 1 (41:55):
You say, we got bigger things here, Put in Tyson
Bagent and let him rolls.
Speaker 10 (42:00):
It's all about It's all about goals, KB. Everybody needs
a goal for the Bears, and goals to in the
Super Bowl. For somebody like Miles Garrett, they ain't gonna
get to the playoffs, so his goal is going to
be statistical. So I see where both of them come from.
But Caleb, I'd rather you throw for zero yards and
have won Super Bowl than a whole bunch of yards
and no Super Bowl.
Speaker 9 (42:18):
I'm with well done.
Speaker 2 (42:18):
Yeah, how about the collective quarterback room four thousand, because
if be aage in plays, he gets a couple hundred
and then together if the beage it is playing, it
means they have this thing on lockdown. Well done, Miles Garrett.
Hopefully we're talking about you next week as well with
the record setting, because since we don't care about the four.
Speaker 7 (42:33):
Thousand with Kyle Love you, Kayla Trapper, Love you.
Speaker 9 (42:36):
