Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
The energy in the studio is maniacal.

Speaker 3 (00:13):
And it's not because we have a full breakfast table
in person in Los Angeles.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Is because that game last night was so good. Welcome
and soccer football.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
Because out of my old chaper Beef Jerkey. It's Friday,
December nineteenth, but our souls are still on Thursday Night Football.
We are la only today. Kyle Branton parsonnknown. I'm sure
we'll hear stories from him on Monday. Jamie ar at
all of the table as always joined by Man's I tao.
I think Rochelle here's w do't know why, just shield you.
Seth rollin, Seth freaking Rowlin's at the table. We got highlights,

(00:41):
we got mad minute, we got a player coming on
to life in Baltimore, Charms City. We got the king
coming out GMFB.

Speaker 4 (00:49):
Roland Roll Yes, Welcome to Good Morning Football, presented by
old Trapper.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
That's right, Welcome inside everybody, Jamie Mansi, Isaac Seth, gentlemen,
look at Seth doing this.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
He is ready.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
You know why because there is a highlight that is
to behold here on GMFB to start the show. If
you stayed up late last night watching it as we
all did, it was an absolute beauty of the game.
Some are saying the best of the season. Now, there
was an argument after Week one that Raven's Bills was
best of the season, But as we like to say
on this show, there were no stakes in that game,

(01:36):
and we like our stakes medium rare on GMFB, So
this one was a true rarity. It was for the
NFC West title. It was for pride, it was for joy,
it was for home field advantage. It was for all
the jukes, for sans Arnold. It was also for shaking
off a narrative. That man's narrative is can you win
an MVP? In twenty twenty five? DeVante Adams hurt, But
the Rams offense did just fine, right MANSI, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:59):
They did just fine.

Speaker 6 (02:00):
They had some hiccups in the red zone early right there,
trying to get their footing, Jamie, but when all else
fouls James, yeah, hick number twelve and they usually good
things happening.

Speaker 7 (02:08):
It happened a lot last night.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
For the La ram Oh with the shimmy standards.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
Look at all youth one stuff like he's at the
club at Georgia. Now this was a pick in the
red zone. Listen, this is sub ten minutes in the
fourth quarter. Donald's coughing up the ball at the goal line.
It's thirty to fourteen. We're going to talk about some
of the Rams players behavior on the sideline at this
juncture of the game.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
But Kobe Turner the conductor.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Saying, this thing could all be settled if we just
take care of business. That business was handled until Rashid
Shahed entered the chat.

Speaker 8 (02:39):
This is what this is why they say traded firm, right. Yeah,
it was to be a vertical threat.

Speaker 6 (02:43):
But then you also know that Shaheed is one of
the best returners in all of the game, and this
was such a big pivotal moment for the Seattle Seahawks.
This is what ignited that comeback last night.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
He's speedy, but that's still his first punt return touchdown.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Of the season. Then on the two point conversion, who else,
who else, but we don't say it.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Cooper Cup going up against his former team. Now it's
an eight point game, one possession. Darnold working again to
his left, cross his body to his right, finds the
tight end a j barner with a leaping twenty six
yard TV seth what you got?

Speaker 5 (03:14):
Oh my god.

Speaker 9 (03:14):
At this point I was like, what do they got?
What do they got up their sleep? What's it going
to be a that's it?

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Oh it's too bad. No, it was too bad.

Speaker 8 (03:23):
Time they can come down. Wait, wait a minute.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
But all of a sudden, we have to get her.
What's that math tool? Use a protractor?

Speaker 3 (03:29):
We got a pro tractorund to make sure that kids
thing was behind the line of scrimmage.

Speaker 10 (03:34):
It was.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Indeed, that's a live ball. Zach Sharponay picks it up.
Just hand it to the ref. Guys, that's a successful
two point conversion. We are all knotted at thirty. Can
this man put it through the uprights? He can't no
more before the two minute warning and we got a
missed kick.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
Special teams had a challenging night for the Rams. If
you're listening to the local pods this morning, Rams fans
unhappy with Special teams. All right, Stafford, show us what
you got. We're in overtime now.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Poop Nakua walks in untouched.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Isaac Roschelles was Pooka's whole night, right, I mean it
was an over one hundred yards just took over, and
I think he was enjoyed playing.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
Locked in, locked in, so is Stafford. Stafford's like, no,
I'm telling you this thing works. And then Donald, you
know Toad red Swag was we got to call Naper listen, get.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Him on the phone, Get him on the phone.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
Jackson Smith and Jigba had some. Cooper Cup had some.
Now we're back in the red zone. Donald laser JSN
Oh my goodness, gracious, okay, guys, one point game. Now,
there was conversation that Mike McDonald minutes ago.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
He's already convinced he's going to go for two. Three
timeouts later, we're all set.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
Donald, good are you serious? Are you serious? Never to
be targeted before that is Eric sober. Seahawks come back
to win to take over the one seed in the
NFC thirty eight thirty seven the final. If you're Philly,
if you're Chicago, if you're the Rams, there, I say,

(05:08):
you've got to go to Seattle.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Now through the playoffs they hold it.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
If they hold out on this one seed, they got
to win their last two games from that remain true.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
That was a doozy.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
I would like to discuss lots of things about this game,
one of which is the fact that Stafford has four
fifty seven next to his name, Scott three touchdowns next
to his name, but the Seahawks have the number twelve. Oh,
look at that sweet twelve next to the Seahawks. That's
a special number for them. That's a final that was
an overtime Seahawks win it. After the game, you heard
from both quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Who are electric.

Speaker 7 (05:40):
That was crazy.

Speaker 11 (05:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 12 (05:43):
I think just overall, you guys are gonna think I'm
weird for saying this, but we you know, I didn't
think we played our best football. I certainly didn't play
my best football. We got a lot of work to
do there, but at the end of the day, we won.
And you know that the team in that locker room,
all the guys in that locker room, you know, we
work so hard for moments like this. Obviously, you know,

(06:05):
like I said, we got a lot of work to
do and we're going to continue to push and get better.
But those guys in the locker room deserve a win
like that.

Speaker 13 (06:12):
Obviously, tonight's loss may if that your opportunity at the
number one seed is at challenging in the next eleven.

Speaker 11 (06:19):
Days, go play.

Speaker 7 (06:20):
Where are we playing?

Speaker 11 (06:21):
Who we play?

Speaker 13 (06:22):
And put the ball down, Prepare, go play. That's the
attitude this team's had since day one. It's the attitude
we're going to have to the last game we played
this year. Listen, respect, everybody, fear nobody, go play.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
I'm starting to hide it, but I feel like it
looks a little irked in that most game President a
little annoyed. Stafford's like, I laid it out on the
line and we're a five seed.

Speaker 5 (06:43):
Now.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
The Rams last week with their win, actually had already
clinched a playoff birth, so that is inevitable. It's just
what number is next to their name. If you will
Seahawks right now, big beautiful bird on the left side
of your screen. With twelve wins, the Bears loom large,
though as they play the Packers. This thing could be
an absolute martini shaker this weekend and toss out different
numbers by the end. That's why we love this time

(07:05):
of year here in the NFL. That game would not
have been better last night. I have a not in
my chest man tie with excitement about all the things
that we could pick apart.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
With this overtime thriller. Where do you take us to begin.

Speaker 6 (07:16):
Well, that man that just ended the interview, I'd take
it to Matt Stafford, because when you have almost six
hundred yards of total offense yet can come up short,
it's a reflection of their struggles for me in the
red zone. Now, we know who used to come alive
in the red zone for the La Rams, and that
was Devonte Adams. And when I watched this Rams offense
that took the field last night, it reminded me of

(07:38):
the Golden State Warriors before Kevin.

Speaker 7 (07:40):
Durant got there.

Speaker 6 (07:41):
Like they had a really good long ball and they
would live and die by the three pointer. They had
a good inside game with Draymond Green at times, and
that was the run game with Karen Williams and Blake Coorum.
But they're missing that guy that could score in the
mid range and also at the three pointer. That's what
DeVante Adams did for that offense, right. He wasn't only
a vertical threat, one of the best possession receivers in

(08:03):
the game.

Speaker 7 (08:04):
But here's that.

Speaker 6 (08:05):
Guy when you were third and one, third and five,
third and goal that you could go into thirteen personnel
and stick him out there one on one and he
would win those matchups. Last night, the Rams are three
for six in the red zone, right, even though they
had the lead that they had.

Speaker 11 (08:20):
You don't kick field goals.

Speaker 6 (08:22):
That is an LA Rams offense that does not kick
field goals in those situations. But when you don't have
seventeen out there, and Puka had a phenomenal game, but
when you score three points instead of seven on three
times down there, that is usually what results in that game.
Hats off to the Seattle Seahawks, that defense and that
special teams unit and Sam Darnold coming up in to

(08:44):
clutch Isaac. But I had to look at the LA
Rams and their struggles down there in the red zone
as one of those factors that contributed to their loss
last night.

Speaker 7 (08:52):
Yeah, and we're going to talk about Seattle, I am.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
But it's interesting because McVeigh and every other scenario on
the field seems like he was super aggressive.

Speaker 7 (08:59):
Right.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
You look at all the fourth down attempts they have
and then you get to the red zone and we're
kicking field goals. Right, he didn't really have a choice
because of Davante. But it's just an interesting dynamic and
different parts of the field. But we got to talk
about Seattle. I mean, wow, Sam Donald. I love his
postgame presser where he's like, you know it's going to
sound crazy, I gotta play better. I get it, Sam,
But let's talk about how different the narrative is now

(09:20):
this morning than it was forty eight hours ago. I mean,
Sam Donald, it's interesting, the most winning quarterback in the
last two years.

Speaker 7 (09:26):
I don't know if you guys.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
Knew that twenty six and six over the last two years,
and yet you still talk about him as if, well,
can he actually win the big game? Who's he going
to be in the playoffs? Who's he going to be
against the Rams specifically? And then he comes out and
plays in the second half the way that he did absolutely.

Speaker 7 (09:43):
Dominated the football game.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
The first half it was more complimentary right other parts
of the team on the Seahawks.

Speaker 7 (09:49):
They made plays when they needed to.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
The second half was really a dominating performance by Sam
and I think the Seahawks fan should be excited about
him in the playoffs and who he is and who his.

Speaker 7 (09:58):
Legacy, what his legacy is going to be. It was
big for him and his narrative.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
He's so talented. You watch him play last night, You're like,
why did it take so long. That's a question that
we'll have to answer years after his career is done.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
But you just watching it, especially on.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
That touchdown Jackson Smith and Jig in the back of
the end zone. The whip he has on that ball
to find him and the immediacy he can make that
decision is crazy.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
It's special. I mean, he's a special quarterback. And honestly,
as football fans, it's nice to be able to sit
back and actually say, yeah, he's a really good quarterback
and not have the question mark after not have the
but the Rams every single year is is kryptonite. The
great quarterbacks, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, they don't have Kryptonites.
And now you're kind of like, does Sam darn don't
have a kryptonite? Maybe he doesn't, said, I know, you

(10:38):
have some thoughts on it. It's crazy.

Speaker 8 (10:40):
Oh, I have so many thoughts on it.

Speaker 9 (10:42):
But where do you guys covered a lot of ground.
This was like a championship fight. Yeah it was not
quite Russell Mainian because we're not in the playoffs yet.

Speaker 8 (10:52):
But this is like the Royal Rumble. This is the leadout.

Speaker 9 (10:55):
These games are huge, these last few weeks of the season.
They are massive, and we were all glued to our
TV sets last night watching this game.

Speaker 8 (11:02):
I mean it was I'll tell you what.

Speaker 9 (11:03):
The thing that's it out to me often in this
game was the Seattle Seahawks fight.

Speaker 8 (11:10):
They were fighting, they were in it, they were in
it from they were not giving up no matter what.

Speaker 5 (11:15):
You know.

Speaker 8 (11:15):
You look at it. Early in the game, they their
defense kept the Rams out of the end zone. You
guys covered it.

Speaker 9 (11:21):
But then on the back end they go down in
the fourth quarter thirty to fourteen. Pookaa cool catches the
TV pass from Matt Stafford, and by all intents and purposes,
it looked like this game was done.

Speaker 8 (11:33):
It looked like it was over.

Speaker 9 (11:34):
I mean, at this point, the Rams had dominated time possession,
they dominated the turnover battle, they dominated through the air.
Korum was running, Kyron was running. They had dominated the game.
It looked like you're up sixteen. I mean, that's a
very comfortable number if you're an NFL team. In the
fourth quarter, and Jamie, you said, we're going to get
to some of that trash.

Speaker 5 (11:53):
Talk, if you will.

Speaker 9 (11:55):
But they the Seahawks kept grinding that, they kept fighting.
They did what it had to do and That's what
it felt like throughout this entire game. My question question
coming out of this did it feel like a coming
out party for the Seattle Seahawks.

Speaker 8 (12:11):
Or did it feel like a fluke Seattle Seahawks.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
No, it can't twelve.

Speaker 9 (12:17):
I know, I know, but you still look at the
way Matt Stafford talked about this game after.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
It was over that he sits unbothered.

Speaker 9 (12:25):
He was, he was very confident and I mean, you're
not gonna be able to you know, punt return for
a touchdown, these two point conversions. You had some huge
splash place from Kenneth Walker to keep them in the game.
Are you gonna be able to I mean they put
up thirty seven points six hundred yards.

Speaker 8 (12:41):
Like, are the Seahawks going to be able to do that?

Speaker 9 (12:44):
Because the Rams have been doing that all year long
and they're gonna keep doing that.

Speaker 8 (12:49):
Matt Stafford's MVP.

Speaker 9 (12:50):
If he gets hurt tomorrow, are the Seahawks when it's
time are they going to be able to do that again?

Speaker 8 (12:56):
If these teams match up in January, I don't know.

Speaker 9 (13:00):
I love to see it. It was a great game,
huge fight. Kudos to the Seahawks, can right making the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (13:05):
It's a good sell for the potential third time these
teams play, which we would love to see. Before we
get to some of the petty emotions that were unpacked
on the sideline. A feel good one that I want
to touch on, which is the Eric Sobert touchdown at
the end. You know he's a Chicago guy. You know
he's a Drake Bulldog. He went to Drake, which is
in Iowa til that time was cool.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
He gets drafted by the Falcons.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
This guy's been playing and bouncing around since twenty seventeen. Guys,
he's been on eight nine teams at this point. Crazy,
not targeted a single time last night, and he is
who Sam Darnold finds in the end zone after three
touchdown or after three timeouts.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
I love the chess match that was going on between
the coaches.

Speaker 3 (13:44):
Man time we got to get to and all you guys,
we got to get to what was going on on
the sideline, though, well before overtime, well before this became
a game again. Thirty to fourteen, and allegedly, according to
Ernest Jones, a Seahawks player, the Seahawks took note to
the fact that Rams players were chuckling on the sideline

(14:06):
that we're having their yucks on the sideline.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
Manti.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
If you were in that setting, it's less than ten
to play down sixteen and you saw the opposing team laughing,
how would that make one feel?

Speaker 6 (14:15):
Obviously, it would make you feel a certain type of way, right,
you start to take a little personal But then on
the Rams side, there would have to be some sort
of leadership from the people that were laughing. I don't
know who was laughing. I got to see who that was,
because I it's hard for me to think that a
veteran team like the Rams would.

Speaker 8 (14:35):
Have such behavior, right.

Speaker 6 (14:37):
It's especially when I think a lot of Matt Stafford's
demeanor after the postgame was like.

Speaker 7 (14:42):
Man, we've been here, we've done that.

Speaker 6 (14:44):
We know where we're going to be, right, So I
would love to hear I think Ernest Jones had was
the player for the Seattle Seahawks that kind of talked
about it.

Speaker 7 (14:52):
So let's listen to what you have to say.

Speaker 14 (14:54):
Because they thought it was over thirty Was it thirty
fourteen at one time?

Speaker 11 (14:58):
Yeah, they thought it was over it.

Speaker 14 (15:01):
It's disrespectful as a defense, that's disrespectful, respectful to the game,
because I mean, it's too much time left on the
clock for you to be thinking it's over. I won't
put no names on it, but they know, they know,
and we want so Yeah, I'm yeah. They were saying stuff. Yeah,

(15:22):
they were saying stuff. I won't repeat what they were
saying because it's not really good, but they were talking.

Speaker 7 (15:29):
And that's just okay.

Speaker 6 (15:30):
So when he said that's disrespectful to the defense, that
makes me feel like it was probably an offensive guy talking.

Speaker 11 (15:36):
To the defense. Now, this is what I would say.

Speaker 6 (15:38):
The Seattle Seahawks defense isn't somebody that joke with, Like
that's just if there's if there's a unit that you're
gonna talk or you don't want to talk to, it's
the guys that went three and out, that forced the
offense to go three and out at least six drives.

Speaker 11 (15:51):
In the fourth quarter.

Speaker 7 (15:52):
Like, you don't want to talk to those guys.

Speaker 5 (15:53):
You don't want to anger them. You're almost like you want.

Speaker 6 (15:55):
To strategically like put them to sleep, like, hey, good job, guys, great,
we'll see you in the playoffs kind of thing. Like,
especially if I'm trying to close this game out of
having a fabulous game, don't poke the bear like, just
let them, let them go down and let them take
this loss. But you just poked the bear that didn't
need any more reason to wake up, and I think
that's what happened.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
Guys laughing on the sideline. I know you guys want
to get to it.

Speaker 3 (16:17):
It's a discussion that we have to have and we'll
keep going on this game on GMFB, but we have
business attend to which I means Royalty has sat down.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
To join us.

Speaker 3 (16:25):
Derek Henry coming up on GMFB. Until then, listen Sunday
at nine am Eastern. We know you've been hanging with
us all weekend on NFL Network, but look at that crew,
Rich Eisen and everybody else who's at that holiday party.
Gerald McCoy, for example, is going to sit down with
Levante David to break down the buccan your season, what
they need to spark a playoff round, plus Aaron Rodgers
and the Steelers aim to take another step toward the
AFC North Crown. They're taking on the Lions this weekend.

(16:48):
That's in Sunday, nine am Eastern.

Speaker 2 (16:50):
Enjoy yourself, Mike, You get into.

Speaker 3 (16:55):
Saturday night Soldier field Backers, Bears set breaking rounds say
things about this game.

Speaker 8 (17:02):
Seth, I will be in attendance. Cannot wait taking my
mom to a horse. Everything bears go away.

Speaker 5 (17:09):
He need a W.

Speaker 1 (17:11):
Let's go, let's go.

Speaker 7 (17:16):
We're gonna get w.

Speaker 6 (17:18):
We need it, baby, we need it, bass Seth. And
no better person to run that ball than who's coming
up next. We've got the King, Derrick Henry. He is
joining the breakfast table.

Speaker 8 (17:28):
If you want to know how to run Angry, just
put on this guy's.

Speaker 6 (17:31):
Tape and you'll learn exactly what it means to be
a running back. More jimt B.

Speaker 5 (17:34):
When we return, Good morning, Mom.

Speaker 8 (17:51):
Give the ball to Derrick Henry, who's six three, two
hundred and fifty pounds. It's kind of hard to stop him.

Speaker 9 (17:56):
Toss to Derrick Henry right side, cuts up side and uppers.

Speaker 12 (17:59):
He got rooms.

Speaker 7 (18:00):
He got room.

Speaker 6 (18:00):
He's at the fifteen time The King is in le
me look ten of the twenty The King to the
tap touch down given to Hendricks straight Dave, He's got holds.

Speaker 14 (18:10):
Henry in the twenty the King to the fifteen time
tve touchdown writers but.

Speaker 10 (18:17):
Toss Henry left side, touched it along the numbers like again.

Speaker 5 (18:20):
Touch down Henry.

Speaker 2 (18:27):
Our next guest is that man.

Speaker 3 (18:29):
He's a five time Pro Bowl running back who's been
charging his way into history books since twenty sixteen, and
here at GMFB we have decidedly accessorized his status as
royalty with an unmatched six angry run scepters. We know
Kyle Brandt is angry to be missing this one.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
It's the one and only King. Derek Henry going on
Derek Haby Holidays.

Speaker 11 (18:54):
Well, so be all heavy holidays. He always will.

Speaker 2 (18:56):
Great to see you.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
We love when you come on. Derek Ravens. You guys
have had quite the season. It has been interesting to why,
probably a challenge to be a part of, but you're
adding to the win column slowly but surely. And that
happened again on Sunday it gets a divisional opponent. What
was some of the makeup of that game, the characteristics
of it that told you that was a signature Ravens win,

(19:18):
that put a stamp on how the season should finish out.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
For you guys.

Speaker 15 (19:21):
Yeah, I mean we just know that these next well
the next four games are really important for us. We
just want to focus in a week by week and
make sure the preparation is right just so when we
get out there, we're playing the way that we want
to play, and I think last Sunday was a good
display of that, and we just got to keep that
going this week.

Speaker 6 (19:40):
And Jamie's intro of you, she obviously revealed that you
have six Anger Run scepters.

Speaker 8 (19:45):
You are royalty in the Anger Run's kingdom.

Speaker 6 (19:49):
Out of all of those, even the ones you didn't
get a run four, because I know there's been many
that you didn't even get a sceptor for Which one
is your favorite.

Speaker 11 (19:57):
Of the next one?

Speaker 15 (19:58):
The good answer top, Yeah, I got sick, but I
need I need another one. I was just thinking about
that before I did the interviews. I haven't got an
Anger recepthing in a while.

Speaker 3 (20:09):
Go on, Derek, Derek, where do you keep those half
a dozen scepters?

Speaker 11 (20:15):
I actually got probably most of them my main cave.
I got a big old display.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
So wow, oh man, we can't wait to talk Kyle that.

Speaker 8 (20:23):
That's amazing.

Speaker 9 (20:23):
Well, King, as much as we love watching you run
over people, we also love seeing your dual threat quarterback
do his thing.

Speaker 8 (20:31):
Lamar number eight.

Speaker 9 (20:32):
He's added up and down season with injuries. What's been
your assessment of him this season. What does it mean
when number eight is ready and healthy for you guys
on the field, is.

Speaker 11 (20:42):
Gonna be ready to go.

Speaker 15 (20:43):
He's gonna put his bad foot forward whenever he's never
he's out there, and we know, we trust and believe,
you know that we're gonna be in the right situation
when he's on the field, and we are our best
when he's on the field, and he's one of the
best players in his league. We want every year to
be a lead and some some sometimes that don't happen
for us. But you know, you just got to keep
pushing cute stripe. That's what Lamar's been doing. And we

(21:07):
got three more left and we're gonna be ready to go,
and we're gonna run with eight forever.

Speaker 7 (21:11):
Derek, I might to have you on here.

Speaker 1 (21:13):
I played against you multiple times, and every time we
played against you, our D line coach emphasized, we got
to stop the run, We got to tackle Derek Henry.
And that's the narrative every for every D line when
they play against you. You guys have a D line.
It's really ascending. You pitched a shut out last week.
Can you just talk about how important the D line
has been in y'all's development and in the kind of
arc of this season.

Speaker 15 (21:33):
Yeah, they've just been been locked in every single week.
And you know, before we played last Sunday, just a
week of preparation before that game leading to it, just
new they were going to have an elite game and
a great performance from the D line and the defense
as a whole. So you know, when we had the
shut out, wasn't no shock to us because the way

(21:53):
they prepare, the relentless effort that they have in practice,
you know, it just shows in the game.

Speaker 3 (21:58):
Derek, something too behold about you is that you had
over twelve thousand rushing yards high school. Okay, you recently
surpassed that number, which took ten NFL seasons for you
to do that.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
First and foremost blink twice.

Speaker 3 (22:11):
If your body's okay, that's insane, the fact that you
have that many miles on your wheels at this point,
but also the farther you get from that, do you
appreciate how much of an accomplishment that is for your
position and how young you were at that time.

Speaker 11 (22:24):
Yeah, I mean, you know, just tremendously blessed.

Speaker 15 (22:27):
You know, I love this game, and you know, to
have that that milestone and however long it took to
catch up to it, you know, it's just a testament
to how much God has blessed me with. And you know,
the game has given so much to me, and I've
enjoyed every single moment of it, and everybody has been
a part of it for me reaching those milestones and
have that many yards, you know, I appreciate them as well.

Speaker 6 (22:49):
Derek, I gotta ask you her ask you this question.

Speaker 7 (22:51):
Bro.

Speaker 6 (22:52):
So you are a veteran in the NFL. You've been
that for a few years now. But another veteran, Kyle
van no I, had to play this past weekend where
he intercepts the ball and then he ladders the ball
to Lo Humet in straight veteran fashion.

Speaker 5 (23:04):
Number one.

Speaker 6 (23:05):
What was the reaction that you see the wily veteran
kind of lateral of a number two at what yard line?
Did Kyle bant I always said, okay, I'm done, I'm
going to walk to the sideline.

Speaker 15 (23:15):
Yeah, when he accepted the ball, I was like, okay,
I'm gonna take it. And then whenever he pushed it
to a lawyer off like that move.

Speaker 11 (23:22):
That is smart. That's one that's probably the best player.

Speaker 15 (23:29):
Tip about the fourth and one player with Mark, But
that's the best player here to me right there.

Speaker 7 (23:33):
I got to ask you, at what yard line?

Speaker 11 (23:34):
At what yard line?

Speaker 2 (23:35):
Is he on the bench by the time.

Speaker 6 (23:37):
That rumor is that he stopped at his thirty and
walked off the field at what yard like that Kyle stopped.

Speaker 11 (23:44):
I don't know the yard line.

Speaker 15 (23:45):
But when I saw his head look back, I said,
he in the pitches to somebody.

Speaker 2 (23:49):
And I was like, a game plan.

Speaker 7 (23:54):
That's hilarious. It's funny. I gotta go back.

Speaker 1 (23:56):
So twelve thousand yards in your NFL career, I just
looked it up. That's almost seven miles. So you've ran
You've ran seven miles against the nfl dfensive lines.

Speaker 7 (24:04):
It's actually crazy when you think about it.

Speaker 1 (24:07):
Random fun fact, but Walter Payton Man of the Year
nominee for the Ravens, it's a huge deal.

Speaker 7 (24:12):
It matters.

Speaker 1 (24:12):
There's nothing more important than that in the NFL in
your career, you know, forget the yards.

Speaker 7 (24:16):
That matters.

Speaker 1 (24:17):
Can you talk about how big of a deal that's
been for you?

Speaker 15 (24:19):
Yeah, it's the most prestigious award in the in the NFL,
and I'm honored to uh be selected by this organization
to represent them. And you know, my two all foundation
is loving the playing field for the youth and giving
back and being a resource.

Speaker 11 (24:36):
And I've been blessed with so much.

Speaker 15 (24:38):
God has blessed me tremendously, and I just want to
be a blessing to others in the communities that had that.
That's had an effect on me with with where I've been,
uh in Baltimore, Nashville, back home in Florida, in Tuscaloosa.
So just trying to be a light in the community,
be a helping hind and just trying to do the
Lord's work. And I'm so thankful and blessed to be

(25:01):
a part of this Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.

Speaker 11 (25:04):
And I don't think continue to do my work in
the community as much as I can.

Speaker 8 (25:09):
That's awesome, man. We appreciate that as well. And back
to football to finish it up.

Speaker 9 (25:14):
We are down to the last three weeks of the
regular season.

Speaker 8 (25:17):
You guys got a heck of a schedule coming up.

Speaker 9 (25:19):
You got the Patriots, you got the Packers. Love you
to get a win there and the Steelers and I
would love personally nothing more than to see you take
down Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 8 (25:31):
So I don't know if you want to play defense,
you want to like, you know, kind of do both
sides of the ball.

Speaker 9 (25:37):
You could get a little angry run on Aaron Rodgers
or maybe even just off the sideline, just maybe give
him a.

Speaker 8 (25:42):
Little lamp, you know what. I M on the way man.
Best of luck for the rest of the season.

Speaker 9 (25:48):
You guys gotta have these games that went against Rogers
to finish it off is going to be incredible.

Speaker 8 (25:54):
Where are you guys at, how you feeling going into
these games?

Speaker 9 (25:57):
And can you give me just just maybe one tern
maybe just one shot, just one shot to Aaron for me.

Speaker 7 (26:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 11 (26:04):
I made this one week at a time.

Speaker 15 (26:07):
You know, we got uh some great teams that we're
playing coming up, so it's just them being locked in
each and every week. And you know, no one's at
State for us' playoff football, and we got to take
a one week at a time, don't get too far
ahead of ourself. We got the patios this week, so
locking on that. We got Friday today fast, Friday finishes,

(26:27):
finishes day off right, and.

Speaker 11 (26:28):
Then going Saturday and then get ready for Sunday night.

Speaker 15 (26:31):
But yeah, just one week at a time, and when
that time comes, when players Steelers week eighteen, I might
try to throw something in there.

Speaker 11 (26:39):
Back.

Speaker 9 (26:41):
My god, that's what I'm talking about it, Derek.

Speaker 3 (26:44):
Final question, it's the name of a single teammate. We
like to give you the honor of being the angriest runner.
You are the Walter Payton NFL manager. Dear nomine for
the Ravens. Who's the best gift giver in the Ravens
block around this time of year in charm City.

Speaker 11 (26:57):
That's gift. I haven't gotten any need to be you
to the whole line. Yeah, I mean I gave the
old line some gifts. I'm not sure.

Speaker 15 (27:08):
I feel like maybe the defense they do a great
job of exchanging gifts. I don't really have a specific group,
but always hear them talk about what gives somebody go
and get them and the budget. So I know I
get gifts last year, so hopefully I might get one
this year.

Speaker 11 (27:28):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (27:28):
There you go, we look, so we're gonna get you
fifty two scepters. You can just hand them out to
one teammate of the time, slowly but surely, Derek Henry,
everybody the Bravens Walter Waiting Man of the Year nominee,
and congratulations on that.

Speaker 2 (27:39):
Stay healthy, stay well, Happy holidays, my friends.

Speaker 11 (27:41):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (27:43):
You're not having deja vu.

Speaker 3 (27:45):
The NFC matchup for the North is happening yet again
between the Bears and the Packers, this time this edition
volume two. What's happening at Soldier Field on Saturday night,
second game between these two in three weeks. We need
a couple updates though on injuries. Guys available and unavailable
this one. So with that we bring in our NFL
network consider Tom Pulis there, Tom, NFC North showdown what

(28:07):
you got on the injury front.

Speaker 16 (28:09):
We got key injuries to both these offenses. Let's start
out with the Bears, who will not have two of
their top wide receivers, Romadunze and Luther Burton the third
both ruled out for Saturday nights game against the Packers
for a Dounza, he's been dealing with a stress fracture
in his foot. He tried to go last week that
aggravated it in warm ups. His status moving forward certainly

(28:32):
is in question. As for Burden, he has come on
of late. He's suffered an ankle injury in that game
not going to make it either, which could mean a
lot more work for DJ Moore in that Bears offense. Meanwhile,
for the Packers, running back Josh Jacobs has not practiced
at all this week, still dealing with an ongoing knee issue.
Jacobs said earlier this week that if it's up to him,

(28:53):
he's going to play as he has in recent weeks.
Matt Lafleura said he'll give Jacobs up until warm ups,
up until the ninety minute inactive list to show that
he can go. Meanwhile, wide receiver Christian Watson, who dropped
out of last week's character taking a really hard fall
that actually landed him in the hospital as a precaution,
was able to practice on a limited basis, but Flora

(29:15):
said that what he saw was encouraging. Watson also sounds like,
if it's up to him, he's going to give it
a go on Saturday night.

Speaker 2 (29:22):
Jami, all right, that'd be cool for Jordan Love. I
know he would appreciate that. Tom, thank you very much.
We'll talk to you a little bit. I am sure
with that.

Speaker 3 (29:29):
We got to take a look at what happened two
weeks ago. The Packers did get a touchdown win over
the Bears. But the Bears had the ball in the
red zone. There was an attempt it got picked off.
Caleb Williams. Yeah, there's been lets discussed about this thing,
seth Saturday night. It's all going down again. I need
you to take at least three deep breaths before you
start discussing this game.

Speaker 2 (29:47):
I can just feel the heat radiating off of you.
My god, the intensity.

Speaker 8 (29:51):
Yes, yes, we are fired up about this game.

Speaker 9 (29:56):
This time, not at Lambeau, at Soldier Field, everything on
the line.

Speaker 8 (30:00):
It's going to be a huge game.

Speaker 9 (30:01):
Injuries aside. I think both teams already, both teams ready
to go. As a Chicago Bears fan, I'm telling you
we need this one, baby, we need this one. This
is gonna be the one. Is this a new Bears
team or is this the same old Bears. This is
gonna be the one.

Speaker 8 (30:17):
And I'll tell you what.

Speaker 9 (30:17):
Coming off that Browns win last week, Chicago Bears are
in great shape.

Speaker 8 (30:21):
I get it.

Speaker 9 (30:22):
I get it, and I would feel upset to Roman
Dune Day out, Luther Burden out. But Dj Moore, Dj
Moore stepped up, Hughes. You finally saw for the first
time this season the connection between DJ and Caleb, my
guy eighteen right here, and I feel like that's going
to carry over this week. They're gonna run the ball
as well play action. Ben Johnson's going to be in

(30:43):
his bag. I'm feeling I'm feeling good about a December
game and Soldier Field.

Speaker 8 (30:47):
I can't wait. It's gonna be very exciting. We got
to get a win from my mama. Yeah you do,
you gotta get out and.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
If it's rude, if you don't, got too much. I
think this is your first time working next to South
freaking Rons.

Speaker 3 (30:57):
I feel like you're enjoying the Bears vibes coming on.

Speaker 1 (31:00):
I feel like I'm scared to say anything bad about
we're here.

Speaker 7 (31:05):
I'll disagree with you. How about that? All right?

Speaker 1 (31:07):
This man right here, he's had a lot to prove
this year. It has been a battle the narratives. Caleb Williams,
who is he? No, listen, We're about to see angry Bears.
I'm kind of with you because this whole who was
he in the last play this Packers game? Last time
that's gone? Ben Johnson and the boys are dialing it up.
I'm excited to see him play and the biggest factor
here is there's no Michael Parsons.

Speaker 7 (31:28):
Look, this matters a ton.

Speaker 1 (31:29):
This guy had thirty five pass attempts last time and
Michael Parsons had eight pressures.

Speaker 7 (31:34):
That's up four to his throws.

Speaker 1 (31:35):
He's got Michael Parsons breathing down his throat. You know
what else, they had a double team Michael Parson's twenty
three percent.

Speaker 7 (31:40):
Of the time. That's out the window.

Speaker 1 (31:42):
Now Van Johnson doesn't have to go, Hey, Caleb, when
you get to the line of scrimmage, is he going
to be at linebacker? Is he going to be at nose, guard,
d tackle, d end. There's no Michael Parsons. Caleb Williams
and Ben Johnson can just dive up the best possiball offense.
I'm not worried about the injuries. I'm not worried about
anything with the Bears other than him and Ben Johnson
creating the synergy to beat this team at home. Well,
you're welcome. I was about to get an audie. Yes,

(32:05):
there he gets it all camera, I take it.

Speaker 3 (32:07):
I just realized how terrifying that would be, Like if
Ben Johnson's like, hey, don't freak out, but like Michaeh
Parsons is lingering out there and athlete they don't.

Speaker 2 (32:15):
It can be anywhere there any lemo.

Speaker 6 (32:16):
It's a dilemma for everybody. Okay, but I'm gonna say this.
You know who's also a dilemma as this man right here?

Speaker 7 (32:22):
Guy, Well you're safe. You could say that.

Speaker 2 (32:23):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 7 (32:24):
Yeah, this here is dilemma for this team.

Speaker 6 (32:29):
And the reason why it's the Chicago Birs are one
in three in NFC North. These guys, the Packers, they're undefeated.
And I don't know if you ever heard about the
Toyota thong thing with this man Jordan Lowe, So the
Toyota thing, if you didn't know anything about the Toyota
thon and how that parllels with Jordan Love and his
play on the football field from week eleven on and
Jordan Love's career, his record fifteen and six. He has

(32:52):
the best touchdown and interception interception racial and NFL history
since like the fifties. He has thirty eight touchdowns five interceptions.
He has the highest passer rating and NFL history since
the nine fifties one way play two in that same
amount of time. So if you're talking about somebody that
has to be accounted for. It's this man right here,

(33:13):
how he's played in the past few weeks. I think
he has like six eight touchdowns in the past.

Speaker 8 (33:18):
Three four weeks.

Speaker 6 (33:19):
He is playing at an insane level. So I'm sorry, Seth,
You're my brother. This guy right here has been a
problem for a lot of teams, and I think if
the Chicago Bears defense says an an account for him
and his ability to get the ball down the field,
Toyota Tom will continue for this minister toylet Yet, how.

Speaker 3 (33:36):
Much more comfortable are you the fact that even if
the outcome had been the same and that first game
was played at Soldier Field and you had to go
to Lambeau, like I would think, your mood and attitude
will completely flip. The fact that this is a Christmas
Week special, a Saturday night edition, the fact that it's
back in Chicago, and that to your point, the Browns
win last week, I felt it was very identity ceiling

(33:57):
for the Bears.

Speaker 9 (33:58):
Yeah, I mean it was a big week for Chicago
coming off that loss at Lambeau.

Speaker 8 (34:01):
It's huge. They needed to do that.

Speaker 9 (34:02):
There's a Brown team they had to be to they
in and they did it all phase of the game
they dominated, pitched almost to shout out let a field
goal happen. But I mean they made Shadir Sanders, who
had come off a good game the week before, look very,
very very pedestrian. So yes, if this was in Lambeau,
I might be shaking in my boots just a little bit,
but I am not. We are at Soldier Field. You

(34:22):
mentioned it, Isaac No Micah Parsons, so they're not gonna
have to roll Caleb Williams out every single pass play
in the second half.

Speaker 8 (34:30):
It's a different game. These are gonna be different teams.

Speaker 1 (34:32):
Now.

Speaker 9 (34:32):
Look, you're right, man, Ti Jordan Love a problem. He
is a problem, and that deep ball was a huge problem.
Those big plays with against the Chicago Bears defense. Dennis Allen.
I cannot suspect that Dennis Allen is gonna come with
the same approach that he came with. However, however, Matt
Lafleur baller in his own right. He's gonna come up

(34:53):
with some big plays too, So we'll see how it goes.
This is going to be a fight. I'm really excited
for this game, a little bit nervous, a little bit scared.

Speaker 2 (34:59):
But we can't tell it all. No nervous energy coming out.

Speaker 6 (35:03):
I got a question because somebody that I'm a little
bit nervous of with the Bears right now. What you
got is Caleb made a fantastic throw to DJ Moore,
a fantastic, beautiful throw stunt which he said, I can
make any throws, right.

Speaker 8 (35:18):
I'm a little nervous. Why Because the identity.

Speaker 6 (35:21):
Of what the Chicago Bears do very well is predicated
on the run game. Is Kyle man Nunguy's is DeAndre Swift? Yes, sir,
what I'm hoping doesn't happen, and I think they they're
not going to do it because that's what they kind
of did in the first half of the first game.

Speaker 7 (35:34):
Against the Packers.

Speaker 6 (35:35):
Is they start to get past heavy, I hope that
they just what is your thoughts, Okay, as a Bears fan,
you watch them very closely, what are your thoughts as
to do you think that they'll start to trust their
franchise quarterback a little bit more with his arm or
do they just rely on what's gotten them there so far?

Speaker 8 (35:52):
And as there is that run game.

Speaker 9 (35:53):
I mean, they're gonna do what they do, which is
run the ball, lean on play action. That's what's going
to happen. He Caleb Williams, he knows he doesn't have
to play heroble.

Speaker 8 (36:02):
That's the thing. He doesn't have to go out there
and do that.

Speaker 9 (36:04):
Love the confidence, I love the swag saying no, that
wasn't a misguy to throw.

Speaker 8 (36:09):
I can make any throw.

Speaker 9 (36:10):
And here's the thing about Caleb Williams set an NFL
record this season fewest interceptions to start a career after
a thousand passes, the fewest. This guy does not turn
the ball over. He's not getting sacked this year, which
means he's not fumbling this year. He's not throwing picks.
He's making smart decisions and Ben Johnson calling the plays.

(36:30):
This is a different animal. Unless this team somehow gets
behind some crazy amount. I'm telling you, they are going
to run the ball. They are going to motion all
over the place. They are going to run off play action.
That's what they're going to do. That's their identity, their identity.
Caleb Williams is fantastic, but their identity, this franchise's identity
is Ben Johnson.

Speaker 8 (36:50):
Know what he likes to do and he's going to
do it.

Speaker 3 (36:52):
Speaking of that man, Isaac real Quick your thoughts. On
last January, Ben Johnson gets hired. He says, I love
beating Matt Lafleur twice a year. Couldn't get the job
done at first pass as the head coach of Chicago.
You see the handshake. This is I mean, Ben Johnson
has to beat him at this point. If that's how
you started twenty twenty five with that mood, I trust.

Speaker 7 (37:12):
Ben Johnson with my life. I mean I keep going there.
It is this, This clip is everything. I watch this
every morning.

Speaker 5 (37:21):
If I had my.

Speaker 1 (37:22):
Daughter did in sleeve last night, I'm tired. Pull up
the Ben Jonson Flipp Valley. I need to see it.
He's just he's a culture guy, like in tech you
touch on it, like the culture he's created. They're gonna
figure it out. Man, tis like what are they gonna
do by their off?

Speaker 7 (37:36):
Who cares? Ben Johnson's gonna.

Speaker 1 (37:37):
Dial it up and it's gonna beautiful and it's gonna
have some tenacity to it. Play me anywhere. I'm all
in on Ben Johnson.

Speaker 3 (37:44):
Can I just say something that's kind of like beautifully
ironic and I'm not gonna look at Seth when I
say this.

Speaker 2 (37:48):
So this is a great matchup for the NFC North. Right,
the Lions?

Speaker 3 (37:52):
They loom They got to play the Steelers on Sunday
in some weird universe.

Speaker 2 (37:58):
Even though Rogers used to own the Bears.

Speaker 3 (38:01):
Could he somehow help the Bears this weekend by beating
the Lions? Is it a weird Bermuda triangle of football sets?

Speaker 15 (38:09):
Could you.

Speaker 7 (38:11):
Next week?

Speaker 2 (38:12):
It's appreciate Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 9 (38:14):
There's a lot of pain inside this body. But I
do have the black and gold on today. One week only,
I have to root.

Speaker 7 (38:27):
One time God.

Speaker 9 (38:30):
Can we just like mouths, root for Cam Hayward cams
there there do all the things. Can we just put
Cam under center?

Speaker 2 (38:39):
That's a look at the NFC North.

Speaker 3 (38:41):
But those top two teams, they got history and we
always loved to review.

Speaker 2 (38:44):
It's something that Aaron Rodgers and many before him know about.

Speaker 7 (38:48):
There's another hand.

Speaker 6 (38:52):
You have been I'm Matt post gam you guys Bears win?

Speaker 5 (38:56):
What are you doing?

Speaker 11 (38:57):
Sucking path?

Speaker 5 (39:13):
Good mon? Football?

Speaker 7 (39:15):
Well.

Speaker 17 (39:15):
Quarterback Drake May has the Patriots on the cusp of
their first AFC East title in six seasons. His name
also frequently mentioned among the front runners for MVP, and
for very good reason. He has the third highest passer
rating in NFL history by a quarterback age twenty three
or younger. The two guys ahead of him, how about

(39:36):
Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson. Certainly great company to be in,
considering both have won MVPs. Now, while he appreciates being
in that conversation, there is another trophy instead, He'd rather
take Homes.

Speaker 10 (39:51):
It's off the you know, one of the big accolades
for this league, and it's you know something that you know,
it's the honor as a player to you know, earn
their award and respect to me all the pass MVPs.
But I think at the end of the day, you'll
winning the super Bowl is the biggest thing, and I
think it's what kind of makes makes this league go

(40:12):
is is winning the big one, and that's what you
work towards, and that's what this game is about.

Speaker 11 (40:16):
You know, I love winning, and.

Speaker 10 (40:17):
You know the personal athletes come with all that, but
I'd rather win than than win, you know, personal awards.
And I hope you know, people in that locker room,
I know a lot of them feel.

Speaker 11 (40:25):
The same way.

Speaker 17 (40:26):
And that journey continuing as Drake Me and the Patriots
take on Ravens on Sunday night. We just talked to
Derrick Henry. He said he's out for another scepter. So
that Pat's defense.

Speaker 12 (40:34):
You're on alerts.

Speaker 3 (40:47):
You know what's so great about having Seth freaking Rowlins
on GMFB is that like from time to time we
just got to check in, Like, so, I'm sorry, can
you explain the money in the bank briefcase to me again?
And like how does World Rumble exactly work?

Speaker 2 (40:59):
And like what is a heel?

Speaker 3 (41:00):
And then also like why is Cody Rose and Nicky
Bella at the Eagles game? What did you make of
their attendance?

Speaker 8 (41:06):
You know, I don't really know what to make.

Speaker 9 (41:08):
I'll say this for Nikki Bella, as long as I've
known her over a decade, she.

Speaker 8 (41:12):
Has been and is a Philadelphia Eagles fan.

Speaker 9 (41:15):
So you know, a lot of speculation for why she
might have been there, but she was there at the
root on her team one way or another. Cody Rhodes,
I can't really explain that one. I know, in some
conversations with Cody, he has told me that because of
the way he was treated by the Philadelphia Eagles organization
when we were there for WrestleMania two years ago, he
sort of became a bit of a fan of the Eagles.

(41:38):
I personally think it's a fair weather situation. All right,
here's the thing about fandom.

Speaker 8 (41:41):
You've got to be loyal. Loyalty means something.

Speaker 9 (41:45):
Okay, Cody Road, remember that loyalty means something, whether it's
in wrestling, in the ring or in.

Speaker 8 (41:52):
The football world. Loyal, baby.

Speaker 9 (41:54):
You got to be loyal to your squad, just like
I am loyal to the Chicago Bears, who are undoubtedly
gonna stop the Green Bay Packers this Saturday.

Speaker 3 (42:02):
And Soldier fill all right, how we were going to
get back there?

Speaker 13 (42:05):
Oh?

Speaker 8 (42:06):
Well, they're not in the text because he's not a
real fan. I don't even trust him. I did have
a text rep with some of the people on there.

Speaker 9 (42:11):
You know, it's a lot of I love football, I
hate football, and that day I really.

Speaker 3 (42:19):
Emotional emotional welfare check on sets Saturday night. Everybody doing
all right, that's our first hour on GMFB.
