Speaker 2 (00:10):
Good Morning Football, Everybody, presented by our favorite Drive Meet
in the Bag, Old Trapper Beef Jerky. It's Friday, December nineteenth.
Seth roninds holding his mouth very still after I said
drive Meet in the Bag. Fantitaya at the table as well,
Isaac Groschell, and I'm Jamie Erdall.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
Seth rollins.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
How much of a headliner was that Thursday night football?
Speaker 4 (00:28):
All the year? Oh the year?
Speaker 5 (00:32):
Can we talk about it?
Speaker 1 (00:33):
Let's talk about it first.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Let's hear some tunes, shall we. It's a Friday on JMFB.
Let's get loose. Welcome to Good Morning Football presented by
Old Trapper.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
Gentlemen, pick me up.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
It's Thursday Night Football Rams in Seattle, NFC West. On
the line, Sam Donald, can he produce in a big game?
Matt Stafford, we know what he can do with a
lot on the line like that. It was twenty three fourteen.
Stafford laces this fall into Puka Nukua, who knows a
thing or two about celebrating. Now, it's thirty to fourteen,
some some minutes to play in the fourth order in Seattle.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
So sure we welcome to dance moves.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
We put him on TikTok, will emulate them until not
look at that Donald not helping himself. Yep, everyone's like, no,
Sam Donald, he can get you eleven wins, but how
is he going to handle himself in the big moment?
Manti Well red zone turnover mansign not a good.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
Look, coch I got a good look that it started
some some gulfs of the past started playing his ear.
But Sam Donald will return with they help us some
special teams on some defense games.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
Yeah, if you ever need to get the pickup, this
is an Ethan Evans punt and this is a rashid shit.
He touchdown shockingly despite his speed and despite that all
he has brought after the trade from New.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
Orleans to Seattle.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
First punt return touchdown this season, just a third of
his career.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
Maybe we're just opening the can.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Two point conversion, gotta have it to make it a
one possession.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
Game, and they do.
Speaker 6 (02:10):
Isaac BEAUTI, I mean this is beautiful.
Speaker 7 (02:12):
These two point conversions were huge for them in the game.
And then Sammy D does what Sammy D does in
the second half, plays very well, rolls.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
Left throws right.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Aj Barner fifth touchdown on the season, his first actually
since Week five. Tight ends coming up big for the
Seahawks down the stretch.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
Pay close attention.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Here is the weirdest definitively two point conversion that has
ever been.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
Witnessed on an NFL The longest, the.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Weirdest ever two point conversion, Jamie ever in the history
of football. I think this took ten minutes. Everybody thought that, Okay,
there's no this is incomplete. Yeah, but heads up played
by Zach Sharbonnet. As a defense, we're always taught pick
up every single ball. Zach Sharboney must have been in
a defensive meeting because that's exactly what he did. And
they got two points because all right.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Ty game Harrison meves leg on the line wide right,
wide right. Both refs say no good games says tied
at thirty, we would go into overtime. First miskick of
the season for Mevius. That was a go ahead forty
eight yarder. So now Rams have the ball first in overtime.
Stafford pooka pookah cool again.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
Again.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
This is because of Vonte Adams available, so Nicole was
always gonna have to step up. Forty one yard goes
untouched to the house and he's fired up.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
He's fired up. Everybody, Sean McVay is fired up. But
then this man joins the show.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
This drive was a thing of beauty.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
It was a tony towtap clinic.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
It was and all on the right side.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
You got Jackson Smith and Jigma who hit the stock
sign before he made a catch. Then that was Cooper
Cup doing work against his former.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
Team red Zone.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
Now Darnold, oh my laser, laser laser to his.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
Favorite target, Jackson Smith and Jigua. At the end of
the day, Jam, If things aren't working, you can always
find number eleven and good things happen. It's been happening
all season.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
You don't play for the tie at home, do you?
You damn right you don't. You're darn right.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
First target James.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
Eric Sobert, Oh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
Eric, he's been playing since twenty seventeen, was not targeted
all night.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
Shout out to al Michael's in.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
The booth for having that name on lock. I mean,
you could have been like, nope, he was like, Eric's over,
that's the guy. Game winning touchdown. Everybody was celebrating Sam
Darnold fired up. Then he was really locked in. Not
a lot of celebrating out of Sam. He's got a
lot of work to do. The Seahawks though now with
twelve wins on the season, they are currently the number
one seed in the NFC. If they went out, you
(04:34):
got to go through Seattle. You've got to go through
the loud twelves in.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
The Pacific Northwest if you want to get to San Francisco.
In February thirty eight thirty.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
Seven in the final and overtime beauty on Thursday Night.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
Football, Let's hear from our.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
Own Steve Woisch, who caught up with the man who
receives the Lasers, Jackson Smith and Jigo.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
Jackson.
Speaker 8 (04:56):
One of the craziest games I've experienced, and the finish.
Speaker 6 (04:59):
Just first off, the overall.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
Summary of how you guys came back to get this.
Speaker 8 (05:05):
We have an equip mentality and that's something we've been
preaching for a very long time and something that's ingrained
in in this team. And it's just awesome to see
it out here, you know, first hand, and I know
we got the guys that do it. You know, anything
we need to get done, I know we're the group
to do it.
Speaker 6 (05:20):
So it's just awesome.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
You guys are now the number one seed in the NFC.
Speaker 9 (05:24):
You clinched a playoff, perth What about being in that position?
Speaker 8 (05:28):
Man, it was earned, I'll tell you that. And we
feel like we have a great team. You know, we
come out here, we feel like we are a great team,
and you know, we get to show that every every week.
Speaker 1 (05:38):
So it's awesome.
Speaker 8 (05:39):
We have the confidence, we have the edge, and we're
excited to see where it'll take us.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
That game had a little bit of everything.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
We got our money's worth from an overtime thriller Thursday
night football. Seahawks rams Matthew Stafford played out of his mind.
He's still a part of the MVP conversation despite being
handled a loss by division rival man Tai Stafford great.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
Yes, defense better, Perhaps.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Seattle Seahawks defense better, especially later in the fourth quarter.
I think when I watched that highlight tape, you saw
Stafford do his little shit me after that touchdown past
to Puka, you see Pooka take his hummet off and
he starts to get a little amped up. There was there.
There was reports from Ernest Jones, middle linebacker for the
Seattle Seahawks that there might be some curricular activity, extracurricular
(06:23):
activities that were being said by the La Rams offensive
sick listen because.
Speaker 10 (06:27):
They thought it was over thirty Was it thirty fourteen
at one time? Yeah, they thought that it was over.
Speaker 11 (06:33):
It.
Speaker 10 (06:34):
It's disrespectful as a defense. That's disrespectful, dispectful to the
game because, I mean, it's too much time left on
the clock for you to be thinking it's over. I
won't put no names on it, but they know, they know,
and we won. So yeah, I'm yeah.
Speaker 6 (06:53):
They were saying stuff.
Speaker 10 (06:55):
Yeah, they were saying stuff.
Speaker 6 (06:56):
I won't repeat what they were.
Speaker 10 (06:57):
Saying because it's not really good, but they.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
Were talking and then they took it personal. So Ernest
Jones said, it was thirty to fourteen at that time. Right,
let me tell you what the next one, two, three, four, five,
six possessions were for the Rams after that, three and out,
three and out, three and out, missed field goal punt. Oh,
(07:22):
whoever said whatever for the La Rams should be talked
to because they were on the road. Guys before somebody
on the La Rams offense said something being up thirty
to fourteen, Do I fault the person? No, it's thirty
to fourteen. However, when you're are dealing with a defense
like the La Rams that you know, how disruptive and
(07:44):
how great they are, you do not poke the bear.
Whether it's seven minutes left in the game, seven seconds
left in the game. They take it personal. And I
think the next six possessions for the La Rams offense
after whatever words were being said, said, we're a great
reflection of what Ernest Jones and that defense about those
(08:05):
So I don't know who said it, but.
Speaker 3 (08:06):
Next time, guys, check yourself, check.
Speaker 5 (08:09):
Yourself before your Yes, I loved Ernest Jones and you
kind of channeling the great Michael Jordan, and I took
that person and I took that personally. That's what I
And then it got me wondering. I'm thinking to myself.
I'm like, Okay, were they actually saying something to the
defense or were the defense just find a reason to
(08:30):
get angry you know what I mean. I know, as competitors, boys,
sometimes you just find that little part the reason. Yeah,
that that extra motivation. Just give it to me, you know,
just let me have something. That's what competitors do. And
this defense they were competing all night long because This
game was the Rams game. They did everything they wanted
to do on offense until it was crunch time. Because
(08:53):
you look at the Stars. They start right Pookah two
hundred and twenty five yards Stafford four fifty plus, no turnovers.
They were running the ball, they were passing the ball,
they were on point. And then it all shifted because
the defense kept them in the game early, early red
zone stops and then when it got out of hand,
right when there's an interception in the red zone, you
don't get down, you pick your team up, and that
(09:16):
is what that defense did. Three and out, punt return, touchdown.
Everything changes at that point. This was undoubtedly, in my opinion, guys,
the game of the year, and it is a very
real possibility that these teams will meet one more time
later in the season. We'll see Isley. I don't know.
The NFC is a stacked group right now. Stack We're
(09:38):
gonna get to all that, But man, I gotta know
what you're thinking about this game.
Speaker 6 (09:41):
Well, first off, this division is stashed.
Speaker 7 (09:42):
I mean not even just the NFC, it's just this
division specifically. It makes up the whole NFC's best teams.
I got to get back to this the sideline laughing thing.
Speaker 6 (09:52):
We talked about it off camera.
Speaker 7 (09:54):
You remember the segment, Come on, man, like you're up
sixteen points. Guys are having career days. You should win
in those situations. I think it's okay to be excited
about performances on the sideline.
Speaker 6 (10:06):
I think you need to be focused.
Speaker 7 (10:07):
But at the end of the day, this was a
special team's issue. Yes, their offense wasn't rolling like it
was in the first half. That's okay. That happens at
ebbs and flows. They put themselves in a good position.
You can't have pump returns, right. That has nothing to
do with maybe Puka who was laughing on the side.
Speaker 6 (10:21):
We don't know who it was.
Speaker 7 (10:22):
But you got to lock in on special teams more
than anything. I think it's okay that they were enjoying things.
But like I think about a guy like Kobe Turner,
that guy had a career day. He had a sack
and a half, he had an interception, batted balls all
over the field, poking a cool We just talked about
it career day. This is a really good football team.
They just needed to finish and not have this punt return.
Without this punk return. I don't think we're talking about
(10:43):
the Seattle Seahawks. I think we're talking about Sam Darnold's narrative.
Can't be the Rams all these things, so I don't know.
I think it's okay that they were enjoying themselves on
the sideline. You should have positive energy, you should be
excited about beating a team by or being up sixteen
points at that point in the game. Get excited. Let's
go finish. It's okay to laugh, Let's go finish.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
That's my thought on some guys also, their eyes drift
over to the opponent's sideline. They want to see, they
want to tap into what the emotions that they're observing.
A guy that I don't think does that is Sam Donald.
He's so locked in on his business that he has
to tend to There was a lot said about Donald
all season long before this game. He can't live up
to the big moment. And while those arguments could have
been negated by certain examples, the fact of the matter
(11:24):
was Donald had struggled against the Rams up until this point.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
Against for the.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
Vikings last season in the playoffs, he got sacked nine
times in the loss in the wild card. Last time
out against the Rams four picks. Donald had to go
to work last night, So a moment for Sam Donald, who,
by the bye, Isaac, you brought up the division. He
had a stop with the forty nine ers in his career.
Let's bring in a San Francisco conversation here, because this
whole thing matters. This is very similar to what we
(11:49):
were dealing with in the NFC North in twenty twenty four.
Just put it on the NFC West in twenty twenty five.
It's wild that the Rams can be eleven and four.
They can be the first team that clinched a playoff
berth in the NFC and they are right now going
on the road as a five seat. It is crazy.
Rollins your assessment, and I beg of you if you
could just maybe not about the Bears at the NFC
(12:10):
as a whole.
Speaker 5 (12:11):
That hole the NFC as a whole is wild. You
look at this playoff picture, you look at the I mean,
how many teams have been in that number one spot
already this season? Been there, But it's a rotating and
it's not done. It's not done. You know this is
the start of this final stretch. I mean, you've got
big games Seattle's got to go play San Francisco yet
this season. San Francisco's got some big games coming up,
(12:31):
and they're sneaky. Man, there's sneaky. Christian McCaffrey has been
pretty healthy all season long, and when he's healthy, Rock
Perty's healthy, Kittle's healthy. That is a dangerous team. And
I think one of the things is they have been
at an elite level for years. The expectations have always
been so high in San Francisco, and for the first
(12:51):
time and as long as I can remember, they're kind
of flying under the radar because.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
They're decimated with injury. It's crazy, but they got ten wins.
Speaker 5 (12:59):
They got ten wins, They're in the mix. They're getting
a little healthier as the season is going on, and
there's areting to play their best ball. And so if
I'm looking at the as if I'm the Rams and
I'm the Seahawks and I'm looking down at the San
Francisco forty nine ers right now, I be a little concerned. Yeah, absolutely,
it would be a little bit concerned, because anybody in
this team can in this division, can still take this division,
can still still take the number one seed in the NFC,
(13:21):
and then you've got some of these squads in the
North too, the Lions, they're not out of it, Bears,
the Packers. I mean, there's a lot going on here.
This NFC is loading.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
The Niners are like that grizzled vet wrestler who like knows.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
Like what are you supposed to do?
Speaker 2 (13:33):
But then like sometimes he goes off script and he's like, I.
Speaker 3 (13:35):
Don't know what.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
I don't know how I'm supposed to handle my business,
but I know that I'm always a competitor and I'm
always going to try to come out on top, you
know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (13:41):
So that's that I make the right parallel with that.
Speaker 5 (13:43):
Yes, they stay in all year long, and they know
when to peak. All right, it's that time of the year.
It's many season. You know when to peak. Okay, So
you can't run wild all year long and just expect
to be at your best at the end of the year.
You got it, ebbs and flows as the season goes. So, yes,
they are the veteran, they're well coached, they're a good team.
(14:04):
They're going to be in that They're in the fight.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
Yeah, Jennery fourth is going to be that game that
I think is going to be the next circled NFC
West game, right, that's when the Seattle Seahawks go to
Santa Clara and they play the Niners. Now, talking about
the Niners, the reason why I think the Niners are
scary in all of these matchups, it's regardless of injuries.
This is one of the more efficient teams in the NFL.
They are one of the best at ten plays or
(14:28):
more drives. They are one of the best at time
of possession. And I think if you watched last night's game,
you saw the time of possession difference in the first
half of that game. Now, when you line up against
San Francisco for nine ers offense, that they're just going
to nickel and dime you and Christian McCaffrey's just going
to get the ball all the time. And they're so efficient.
And I know they've had the injuries on defense and
(14:50):
too very important guys in that defense, from Fred Warner
to Nick Bosa. And you have a young yeah, you
have a young set of guys. I think they start
to lean on each other a little bit better and
they start to play more cohesion defense. And that's what
I see from Robert Sola's defenses. It's a bunch of
young guys that they all do their job, they know
(15:11):
their role, and they do it very very well. So
this San Francisco forty nine ers team is a hard
team to be because they are so unified, because they're
so efficient, and so when you look at them and
the rest of the matchup, I think the Rams are
going to win out. If you look at the Rams schedule,
they got the Fuckings and then the Cardinals and then
they're done. I think they win out right. So for
the for the Rams finishes the thing off strong, it's
(15:34):
for the Niners and the Seahawks. Those matchups are going
to be the ones that think is going to say
a lot as to what the nc NFC playoff in
picture looks like from in the playoffs.
Speaker 7 (15:44):
We brought up such a good point, though, man Ty,
the glue piece of you know, a team's closeness and
how they're meshing. This forty nine ers team has kind
of went through the gauntlet this year. I mean, we're
acting like they didn't have Mac Jones stowing up on
the sideline, battling to get wins in the middle of
the year, and they're not healthy. Now we know that
the forty nine Ers have a long way to go
as far as health, but they're getting pieces back, right.
(16:06):
They're starting to become the team that you want to
see in the playoffs. Perty's there, Perty's getting better, He's
getting healthier. Christian mccaffery's getting to that point. So we're
going to start to see them get better and better.
They're kind of the dark horse. They're the dark horse
of this situation. It's exciting to watch. Here's the issue.
Though they play the Colts, they play the Bears, they
play the Seahawks, all three of these teams have something
to fight for. I mean, these are not teams that
(16:28):
are in the Cabo column as we call it, that
are planning their tricks for the offseason. So that's the
biggest battle that they have. They're playing teams that at
any moment can pop off and be, you know, the
front runner as far as how they look on Sunday
or Saturday or whatever day they play now because the
schedules changing. But again, I agree with you, man, Tie.
This team is meshing exactly the way they need to
here at the end of the year, and they're gonna
(16:49):
be fun to watch the next few games.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
Well, Seth brought up a great point, and they peak
at the right times. And when you do that, when
you have that attribute that comes with the E word experience.
Like everybody talks about the Chiefs and how long their
rain has been, not a lot of people talk about
for the past decade that this San Francisco Ford and
nine Ers team has been a team that has played
(17:12):
late into the playoffs every single year. The only reason
why people really don't talk about it is because they
haven't won a Super Bowl yet. But they've been in
the super Bowl. They've been in the playoffs year and
in year route I think last year was the first
year in like twelve years that they didn't make it.
So this is a team that has pretty much the
same outfit, we have the same coaches. Robert Sala coming
back was a huge deal for them defensively, and they're
(17:34):
showing it with the pieces that they have or the
pieces that they don't have, that that franchise has a
experience of being in big time games late in the season,
and their efficiency at which they play at I think
is a reflection of that experience.
Speaker 5 (17:50):
I will say one thing. I will say one thing.
The one concern that you have when you look at
Schan Francisco because they are very well coached on both
sides of the ball. One concern is the lack of consistency,
consistency throughout the season. I think that's the thing. If
I'm a San Francisco forty nine ers fan, I don't
have a lot of confidence just because they haven't strung
(18:10):
together a series of games where you're going, Okay, this
is what it could look like as we start to
move forward. You've seen glimpses of it, seeing glimps, but
you've also seen Rock Party throw four interceptions, you know,
three and a half, So you see where there are
holes and and where that could be. You know, you
mentioned the matchups they've got coming up. You know they've
got Indianapolis, San Francisco s. Yeah, these are some big games,
(18:30):
and so these are good defense, turnover prone defenses that
are that are going to exploit these weaknesses. So we'll
see how it matches up. San Francisco has been sneaky,
but you're right, man, Ta, I've been consistent for years
and that speaks to personnel but also the coaching. It's
a great franchise.
Speaker 2 (18:45):
Tarneld threw his four picks against the Rams.
Speaker 3 (18:47):
Now he bounced that you can do all right. Listen.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
Something that Kyle Brant, our colleague said yesterday about this
game before it was plays, that this was Seahawks prompt.
The Rams were coming to town, the Seattle, like this
was their big dance. This was the home and the
birthplace of Amazon, and it was on prime video and
all that jazz. All I can think of is the
final scene in the eighty seven class that Can't Buy
Me Lover. Patrick Dempsey is rolling off in the lawnmower
and he's like, yeah, I got the girl, all right, Seahawks,
(19:13):
you got the win, you got that playoff berth and
you may have just thealed home field advantage. I know
Tom Pelisera knows what I'm talking about. It a late eight. Actually,
Pelsara's on a movie guy. You're more a music guy.
But Tom lawnmower scene, you got me.
Speaker 12 (19:27):
Absolutely, It's an all time classic. Although I'm not gonna
lie to you.
Speaker 13 (19:32):
Just looking around the table right now, if I may
comment briefly here, you know, Jamie, you look like you're
snuggling up with a cup of cocoa on Christmas morning.
Isaac also looking very casual. You got Manti there, who
looks like he's going to sell me some fish sticks.
The only person I really hear is Seth, who is
dressed like a true news man.
Speaker 12 (19:51):
This is how it's.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
Done right here.
Speaker 12 (19:52):
You got the tie, you got the shirt, the jacket.
Speaker 13 (19:56):
Professional who he's ready for television.
Speaker 12 (20:01):
And that's that's what we're all about here.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
Let's talk about the injuries.
Speaker 6 (20:04):
By the way, we're just coming these games.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
Can you imagine if Seth Freakin Rollins was the news
delivery man. I'm not sure what I would believe and
how I would interpret that.
Speaker 1 (20:14):
I've done the weather once.
Speaker 6 (20:17):
When ever went back.
Speaker 13 (20:18):
I want to see an insider segment with Seth at
some time between now and the Super Bowl.
Speaker 12 (20:24):
Let's make that happen. For now, it's still me.
Speaker 13 (20:26):
Let's talk about some of those injuries for impacting the
games this weekend, starting out with Steelers star linebacker TJ. Watt,
who has not practiced this week and now appears unlikely
to return to action on Sunday against the Lions. Watt
missed last week's game after undergoing a procedure.
Speaker 12 (20:43):
To fix a small hole in his lung.
Speaker 13 (20:46):
There was some optimism initially that Watt might only miss
one game, but at this point he is taking it
slow in terms of his recovery. Really, the game that
matters for the Steelers, quite possibly is still two weeks away,
because even if the Steelers lose their next two games
and the raven win their next two games, it is
still winner take all Week eighteen, when these Steelers and
(21:10):
the Ravens meet once again. Meanwhile, the Eagles have ruled
out two of their key players for their game on Sunday.
Defensive tackle Jalen Carter underwent surgery on both his shoulders.
Lane Johnson still is dealing with an injury as well.
Speaker 12 (21:24):
There have been some.
Speaker 13 (21:25):
Hope coming into the week that maybe Johnson would be
able to get back at least onto the practice field.
That has not happened yet. Potentially, Johnson could be in
play to come back from that foot injury next week
against the Bills, although if the Eagles win tomorrow, he
can probably afford to take his time. They are win
and in NFC Champs by beating the Commanders.
Speaker 3 (21:45):
Jade, Tom, thank you so much. I thought you were
going to say.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
Look at this table comprised of three gentlemen born in
eighty six, ninety one and ninety five, and how dare
I bring up a rom com from eighty seven and
think that they would understand it? But if I can't
show you that lawnmower picture and a very young and
early in his career Patrick Dempsey, I don't know what
we can friends, Isaac, does that image track anything for
you right now?
Speaker 6 (22:07):
Absolutely not. I'm more wondering how did you get our
birth year so quick?
Speaker 2 (22:13):
I might not wear a tie, but I can deliver
the facts as well, all right.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
And by the way, to not.
Speaker 12 (22:18):
Hear about anybody being bored in the nineties.
Speaker 1 (22:20):
I know right here.
Speaker 6 (22:21):
Let's just hear it.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
Yeah, Tom, I didn't mean to insult you by implying
like you must know the movie I'm talking about, Right Tom,
I got it.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
All right? Thank you very much.
Speaker 2 (22:31):
Talk to you a little bit, CP, set the timer
on your phone, take a deep breath, fill yourself with
happiness and joy that football is happening this weekend.
Speaker 3 (22:39):
However, it is called mad minute for a reason.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
Don't interrupt, but talk quickly, swiftly, and provide great info.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
Man tot Mad could also be a synonym for mate
Johnny coming up later on I Show Jacksville Quarterback Herbert
Lawrence has been ball and he's been having a major
season as a major reason for the success success in
the first place Jaguars in the a FC South. I'll
be going over them. I'll be going over him and
what they're able to do and Candy continue to carry
(23:07):
this on through the last part of the season and
into the playoffs. That was major's coming up. We got
more TMFP coming up. Stay tuned it Friday. Let's go.
Speaker 7 (23:25):
Good money, my mom.
Speaker 11 (23:28):
Miles Garrett does have a chance that's sett any all
time record for you to be the quarterback that that
record would need to be set against.
Speaker 1 (23:37):
Have you thought about it at all?
Speaker 11 (23:38):
No, I haven't thought about it. I do like highlight tapes,
but I don't like being a part of other people's
highlight tapes. I mean, he's an absolutely tremendous football player.
He's one of the greatest of all times. And yeah,
I mean he's a force to be reckoned with, and
we got to be ready for everything that they can
throw at us. But you have to be aware we're
ninety five's at all times. I mean, he's the biggest
(24:01):
guy out there, is the fastest guy out there. His
ability to get off box. His motor is higher than
really anybody else that you'll ever play. He can beat
you with speed and power. I mean, he's just the
all around football player.
Speaker 2 (24:17):
Hear me out though years from now, Josh Allen and
Miles Garrett retire in the same year. Five years after that,
they both go into the Hall of Fame at the
same time.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
And in Miles Garrett's highlight film.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
Of him going in is his record making sack against
Josh Allen, who's sitting down this line from him in Canton.
That would be kind of cool, but not for Josh Allen.
This weekend, this kicks off our edition of Mad Minute
Man Tai. It's Brown's Bill's history on the line potentially.
Speaker 3 (24:41):
What do you make of it?
Speaker 1 (24:42):
Well, wouldn't that be special though? Right that jersey? I
don't think that Miles Garrett is going to.
Speaker 6 (24:47):
Be able to give away that jersey.
Speaker 1 (24:48):
If he was able to get that, I think it's
going to go to Canton in some box somewhere, and
Josh is going to have to see it because Josh
is also going to be in can So that's going
to be something. He has one and a half sacks
to break the record, And what an accomplishment. It would
be against the best quarterback in in the football.
Speaker 7 (25:05):
I think I just want to iso cam on Bill Kromer.
Do you guys know who that is? Remind us it's
the old line coach for the Bills. He's killing his team.
You don't want to be on the forever highlight tape.
You don't somebody's gonna be on it, and you don't
want to be that guy.
Speaker 6 (25:17):
I wish I could listen to him.
Speaker 5 (25:19):
I mean, look, I watched Miles Garrett get after Caleb
Williams last week. I'm telling you, I know Josh Allen
He's difficult to sack. So is Caleb. He's going to
get his. I mean, he is still hungry for this record.
The team wants it for him. I want it for him.
He is a monster. I hope he gets it. That
kind of to happen.
Speaker 1 (25:36):
Dan Dawkins, he's only about four sacks and thirteen games.
A problem miss someone like Miles Garrett. He'll line over
the center, he'll line over the guard, He'll do his
little basketball moves that you do a lot of everywhere.
Speaker 2 (25:46):
To point of pride for both, but Dion against Miles,
that's kind of fun. All right, Lions play host to
the Pittsburgh Steelers, a long time division fo a friendly
and our unfriendly name, and Aaron Rodgers quarterback and the
Steelers sets. You got to go for his first twenty
seconds on Steelers Lions and what it means to you?
Speaker 5 (26:02):
It means a lot to me personally, it does, and
I hate it, but I got to root for Aaron
Rodgers in this and I needed to play a good
game because I love the Lions to go down. And
that's just the way it is. You know, I any
other week I want Riders.
Speaker 6 (26:14):
To go down.
Speaker 4 (26:14):
But I know.
Speaker 5 (26:17):
Black and yellowful to me, it really is. But I mean,
he's just gonna dink and dunk this line's defense. Come on, guys,
let's let's go. Come on, Cam Hayward getting done.
Speaker 1 (26:25):
You just taught the world a great lesson set that
you could choose love over hate. That's what I love
for the Bears just trumps the hate for Aaron Rodgers. Now, listen,
there is the love for Aaron Rodgers. Why Because Aaron
Rodgers has been playing what seems to be his type
of football. They've been running more eleven personnel, which is
lighter box instead of that thirteen personnel stuff that Arthur
(26:46):
Smith likes to run. So as this combination starts to
come through for the for the for the Steelers, I
think it's been good for them.
Speaker 6 (26:52):
This is what I'm gonna say.
Speaker 7 (26:53):
Last thing, Steelers, the best thing you did fan base
was boom, Mike Tomlin. Things have not been the same
since that happened. My tough football team, DK Metcalf, Cam
Hayward and Darnel Watson Washington toughest guys in football right now.
I'm excited about the booze, honestly, don't.
Speaker 3 (27:09):
Don't boo that.
Speaker 11 (27:10):
Man.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
Let's check out an AFC matchup. Broncos can clinch the
West the win and a Chargers loss to the Cowboys.
The Jaguars are fighting for first in a ripe AFC South. Isaac,
we take a look at Jaggs Broncos.
Speaker 3 (27:23):
How about these quarterbacks?
Speaker 7 (27:25):
Yeah, quarterback play is gonna be great, but look, this
game is gonna come down to the trenches. Who's gonna
affect the quarterback better? The Broncos right now have the
best D line in football. Nothing has changed all year.
I'm excited to see those guys affect Trevor Lawrence who
can he be with these guys all all chasing after
him in his face.
Speaker 6 (27:41):
It's gonna be great.
Speaker 5 (27:42):
Oh my gosh, you took the words right out of
my mouth.
Speaker 6 (27:47):
I was.
Speaker 5 (27:48):
I was one hundred percent. I'm like, what's the house?
Trevor Lawrence gonna respond. He's had zero turnovers his last
three games. Jags have been rolling, they won five straight.
Is he gonna be able to keep that up against
this defense? I don't know. They're in Denver, mile High.
That's gonna be true. He's gonna be a big test,
big test.
Speaker 1 (28:03):
Trevor Lawrence had record day five passing touchdowns, one rushing touchdown.
But I don't think a lot has been said about
bo Nicks in a game that he had last week.
I think that was the most poised and the most
efficient game that I see bow Knicks throw, his ability
to put zip on the ball down the scene, but
also the touch on the outside of Corland Sun. And
if they're able to get that run game going again. Guys,
(28:25):
this a little Denver Broncos team that their offense is
starting to go. So watch out.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
Colle football playoff starts this weekend In's bowl season, and
they we can't figure what you're out, what you are about?
Speaker 12 (28:35):
Bowl?
Speaker 2 (28:35):
It's Bucks Panthers. Both teams are seven and seven. The
winner would take over sole possession of first in the
NFC South seth full history lesson on this. A couple
of years back, Kyle deemed the NFC southe if you
can haul it, you can have it division.
Speaker 3 (28:48):
It just seems like these teams they don't want to
take hold.
Speaker 5 (28:51):
That's what I'm saying. That's what it's going to be.
Who wants to lose this division?
Speaker 12 (28:54):
Less?
Speaker 5 (28:56):
You know, I'm like, come on, guys, so I need somebody.
This is gonna be a state in the game, all right,
this is gonna be a statement game. These guys. They
so much inconsistency for both of these teams. You know,
there's something the part of me the roots for the
Panthers because they're an unsung organization, but then I root
for Baker Mayfield. I just want to see a good game.
I want to see guys fighting, and I want to
see people balling out to try to win this division.
Speaker 1 (29:18):
You said you want to see people fighting, you want
to see a good game, you want to see some passion.
I think that's exactly what Todd Bowles wants to see
because Todd Bowles had some things to say after their
loss last week, Ye the Tempa Bay Buccaneers. So my
thing is, can the Tempa Bay Buccaneers defense respond because
we know that the Panthers are really streaky. When they're on,
they're hot and their heart to beat. When they're off,
(29:38):
they'll turn the ball over. So it depends on this
defense for the Templay Buccaneers.
Speaker 7 (29:42):
For me, I think this comes down to, like you said,
how can the Buccaneers respond to their own team?
Speaker 6 (29:47):
Trisan Wurfs after.
Speaker 7 (29:48):
The last game they played, had a bunch of comments
in the media about the team and the issues that
can either bring a team together or spread a team apart.
I think it's going to be can they play as
one unit together? I should keep going and talk about
playoffs and college Tarboro came up. No, but I don't
want to go there.
Speaker 3 (30:03):
I mean I don't.
Speaker 2 (30:04):
I don't think you are qualified to do that right
now since you're.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
Opted out.
Speaker 2 (30:12):
I mean, that's not a we didn't do it, it's
they chose not to be a part of it.
Speaker 3 (30:16):
We choose to watch Sunday Night football.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
Patriots Ravens it's going down. Both teams have dreams of
winning a division title.
Speaker 3 (30:23):
Mansai.
Speaker 2 (30:24):
We just talked to Derek Henry last hour. These two
teams fascinate us.
Speaker 1 (30:28):
They are fascinating. And the thing about Drake Man that
offense is you see the game that they had last
week where they put up twenty one points in the
first half and then there's that collapse. But then you
also see the Ravens defense that just shut out of
Cincinnati Bengals offense and had to pick six. So can
the Patriots, after coming off of buy two weeks ago,
get their traction, start to get their footing against a
(30:48):
defense in the Baltimore Ravens that seemed to be playing
better as the season goes.
Speaker 7 (30:52):
Look, the Ravens had one of the best rosters in football.
On paper, they look great. My question is can they
win a playoff game. This is a playoff game for them.
It's when or you're planning your trip in the offseason.
I want to know what type of culture they have
right now? Is their team going to play efficiently? Is
Derek Henry gonna have two injury yards? A lot of
question marks, but I think they can do it.
Speaker 5 (31:09):
The one thing we haven't mentioned in this discussion is
Lamar Jackson number eight. Will the real Lamar Jackson please
stand up? I know the dude's been plagued by injuries
all season, lots of ups and downs for the squad.
He's got to get right, he's got to play his game.
They got to do this if they want to. I mean,
you said it. This is a playoff game, and they
approached the back half of their season this way, ups
(31:31):
and downs here and then what is that?
Speaker 3 (31:32):
No worse to stop talking?
Speaker 5 (31:35):
It's to interrupt your thoughts on that wasn't a bell?
Speaker 2 (31:39):
Can I blow your mind on the Lamar Jackson concept.
So in his career, Lamar Jackson undefeated in week fifteen
or later, he's won sixteen times. He's sixteen and oh,
there is only one other quarterback who has a longer
streak than that, and he is also playing this weekend
against the Browns, and that is Josh Allen. So Josh Allen,
Lamar Jackson. They started their years of playing against each other.
(32:01):
They are great finishers. In December and into early January.
Speaker 14 (32:05):
Hey, six total touchdowns every single time. You guys continue
to elevate and raise the standard.
Speaker 12 (32:18):
And that's pretty damn fun to watch, guys, It's pretty
damn fun to be a part of. And all we
continue to do is get better.
Speaker 1 (32:26):
We keep get better as.
Speaker 12 (32:27):
A team, and that's all we can truly ask for.
Speaker 14 (32:30):
Guys, keep this going, guys, man's full watching out play.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
You continue to elevate and raise the standard. I hear you,
Liam Cohn, and so did your franchise quarterback.
Speaker 6 (32:45):
Last week.
Speaker 1 (32:46):
First, the Jets, Trevor Lawrence became the first player in
NFL history to throw for five touchdowns, rush for a touchdowns,
and have more than fifty yards rushing all in one game.
But he's not the only one setting the standard. The
Jacksonville Jaguars are currently first place in the AFC South.
That ten and four this is the most they've had
in the season since their AFC Championship Game appearance back
(33:08):
in twenty seventeen. But this isn't twenty seventeen. This is
a whole new outfit. This past offseason, the Jacksonville Jaguars
went through a total overhaul, bringing in not only a
first time head coach in Liam Cohen, but also a
first time general manager in James Gladstone. You think that
with all that turnover. It would cause some growing pains,
(33:31):
I'm sure it did, But overall, the twenty twenty five
Jacksonville Jaguars have experienced more growth than pain. Right now,
they had the second best improved record from twenty twenty
four to twenty twenty five, just behind the New England
Patriots and just ahead of the Chicago Bears, two teams
which were the number one seed in their conference not
(33:51):
too long ago. But that's not all. Since their Week
eight by no team has had more wins than the
team from Duval County, Trevor Lawrence, and that offense is
averaging almost thirty three points per game, second only to
the Los Angeles Rams. They also have scored twelve rushing touchdowns,
tied for most with the Rams, and have added fourteen
(34:12):
passing touchdowns to go along with it, which ties them
second behind You guessed it, the Rams. Yeah. When you
look at the AFC playoff picture, most conversations start with
the Denver Broncos for the New England Patriots and end
with the Buffalo Bills or the surge in Houston Texans defense. Heck,
we even talked about the Coats and they're newly unretired
(34:33):
forty four year old quarterback. But what's it going to
take for the conversation to start or even end with
the men and teal and gold. Maybe we at Jim
IFP can start that narrative overhaul, now that would be major.
Let's go to the table to my friends. Yeah, go
to the table with my friends. Isaac. I gotta start
with you first. When you look at this AFC playoff picture,
(34:55):
why is it? Then when we look at it, the
first thing that we don't talk about are that Jacksonville
Jaguars and stuff that Liam Cohen and Trevor Lawrence are
able to do and have been doing this season.
Speaker 6 (35:04):
Well.
Speaker 7 (35:04):
To immediately answer your question, it's because of the history, right,
It's because of who is Trevor Lawrence when the playoffs
come around.
Speaker 6 (35:10):
I mean, even though they won this game, I think.
Speaker 7 (35:13):
About the Jaguars Chargers game where he threw five interceptions
in the first half or they had five turnovers offensively.
That's what people are reverting back to. Now it's a
new year. This is the era of coaches coming in
and changing organizations. Ben Johnson and the Bears. I can
go down our list and this is just Liam Cole
and this isn't co En. This is another example of
that happening. So I think people should be talking about
(35:35):
him because they have the right leadership, and it's obvious
they have the right culture, and they have warm weather,
which is nice to practice in this time. So no
doubt this team should be talked about way more in
the AFC playoff.
Speaker 5 (35:46):
Thy, yeah, they should, they should, you know. But here's
the thing. This last week, in the last few weeks,
we've seen the Trevor Lawrence that we want to see,
the guy that was drafted out of Clemson. It was
going to be the future of the NFL, the future
of this organization. We finally saw that. Are we going
to see that consistently? That is the thing, because we
have seen flashes of Trevor Lawrence, that guy that came
(36:07):
out of Clemson for many, many years, but he hasn't
been able to be consistent. Now their marching towards January,
they're going to be in the mix, and yes, we
should be talking about them. But are they going to
prove us believers or are they going to be frauds.
Speaker 1 (36:22):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (36:22):
It's going to come down to Trevor Lawrence. We'll see
how it goes.
Speaker 2 (36:25):
Kyle called him the prince that was promised Trevor Lawrence,
and somehow Liam Cohen has been the one to unlock him.
Ever since Liam Collen showed up on our show a
couple of weeks ago, we've kind of become like the
show on record of just loving Liam Cohen unfairly ridicule
to start his tenure as head coach with the Jaguars,
with his whatever he decided to do to introduce his
press conference, like you gotta let it go, people like
(36:47):
he look at what he has made of himself. This
man clearly loves his players, and the love goes back
to the other direction as well.
Speaker 3 (36:54):
And you mentioned the GM that was brought in as well.
Speaker 2 (36:56):
This is a young, fresh, energized, juiced. I don't know
any other adjective I can tell you. Then this team
is ripe and ready to take on the AFC South.
Speaker 3 (37:05):
I love the Jags right now, Mance, I love this.
Speaker 1 (37:07):
Yeah, they're gonna play the Broncos this week. Then they
finish with the Colts and with the Titans, both two
AFC SU divisional opponents. They should be able to finish strong.
We'll see. It will be major if they do because
we'd love to talk about you more. Jacksonville Jaguars. We
love you on this show, and we hope that the
rest of the NFL loves you too. Soon MARJIMFB when
we return, don't go anywhere. I got the tags.
Speaker 4 (37:28):
Ain't good football.
Speaker 2 (37:41):
Time for Aaron Bround Fantasy Advice presented by FedEx.
Speaker 1 (37:44):
If you're still alive in your fantasy football league, congratulations,
I envi you because I ain't. But let's keep things
rolling and not complicate things. Okay, if you have Falcons
Titan Kyle Pitts keep riding the hot hand. For his
Week sixteen matchup with the Cardinals. Pitts is facing an
Arizona defense that has allowed the second most touchdowns and
the fifth most since Week eleven. Put Pits in the
(38:07):
lineup and we'll see you in the next round of
the playoffs.
Speaker 6 (38:11):
Well.

Speaker 6 (40:23):
Let's go.
Speaker 4 (40:30):
And stop.
Speaker 3 (40:31):
I am in the way.
Speaker 6 (40:33):
What do you say? A little Derrick Henry twenty.
Speaker 3 (40:36):
Oh anneceptor.
Speaker 4 (40:44):
Shot?
Speaker 3 (40:45):
The pressure rolling again.
Speaker 4 (40:49):
Stops.
Speaker 16 (40:53):
You see there's gonna sacked air golf three times.
Speaker 3 (41:06):

Speaker 3 (41:30):
I'm going to miss this for sure. You are not.
Speaker 2 (41:32):
Oh sorry, Josh, we did kind of mention it before.
But Miles Garrett is going to get the sack.
Speaker 3 (41:39):
I think he's gonna get at least two.
Speaker 2 (41:41):
It's gonna be beautiful and historic.
Speaker 3 (41:43):
And we'll talk about.
Speaker 2 (41:44):
The Browns more in twenty twenty six before now in
twenty twenty five, the bow on your gift is gonna
be Miles Garrett. Bills are gonna win, but Miles is
going to get the history.
Speaker 3 (41:52):
Oh my god, the pressure.
Speaker 6 (41:56):
Difficult from way down town.
Speaker 15 (41:59):
No, No, not.
Speaker 5 (42:12):
That exciting because I missed the first beautiful.
Speaker 3 (42:16):
Gosh, that was a good week.
Speaker 2 (42:18):
It's not like we miss Kyle Brandt at all during
a show like this.
Speaker 3 (42:22):
That was the g MF Chicago.
Speaker 5 (42:24):
Yes, and it's going to be called bear down the fact,
don't stand a chance.
Speaker 4 (42:29):
Yeah, it's over.
Speaker 5 (42:34):
She is looking beautiful, reenact, get out of the way.
Speaker 4 (42:38):
Hey, Hey, there we go.
Speaker 5 (42:40):
It's going on Watch Watch where I'm at.
Speaker 4 (42:42):
