Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, everybody, welcome into the after show. Look at that
(00:02):
a holiday. We're showing up Whinny MLK Day, babe, long weekend,
and we are here to deliver you a probably short after.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Show, very short, but you know while we're here, we
will even play the little audio clip. If you're listening
to this in the morning, I have some hot tips
if you have the day off and you got the
kids and you want some shit to do for free.
I have free Boston area museums and zoos on MLK Day.
Shout out to Sean and Boston for the list. Sean
in Boston, Okay, so I'm gonna give him his props.
(00:31):
He put it together. So I'm just gonna read it
because you know, teamwork makes the dream work. It is
first the Sorry, of course, now I lose it as
i'm doing it. The Isabella Stuart Garden Museum, he's.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
The one that got robbed many years ago.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
The Museum of Fine Arts, the Institute of Contemporary Art,
the PbD Essex Museum, the stonem Zoo, and the Franklin
Park Zoo.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
Oh I love the Sonam Zoo.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
So they're all free.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
Oh that's cool, and that cool. That is cool. Yeah.
I mean, look, it's uh, we look forward to this
because obviously Martin Luther King, obviously he had a dream,
he had a dream. He did have a dream, but
you know, an amazing person, and he has his own
holiday for good reason. But the other, the other great
thing is, you know, January, it's cold, kind of nasty out.
It's nice to have a three day weekend.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
My little niece is five, and she came home explaining
what mlkaid was Oh really, and she like, did you
know that? What did she say? So? Did you know
that because of Martin Luther King, the black people and
the white people can now be friends, right? And then
she's like, and then he was shot by bad white
(01:41):
people and then he was like no, no, no, and
then she fell to the ground and he's dead and
then she reenacted assassination.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
She's five.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
The other day during Halloween, she had me by graves
graves tombstones for the front yard and I put them
into the ground and she's like down and like and
she I'm dead, and she would stick her tongue out
like a dead brother. God, but yes, she did you know?
And then she's he wasn't really a doctor, and well, no,
he's a doctor of theology, he's a doctor of whatever.
And that she's, oh, so he wasn't a doctor that
(02:13):
like could like fix you. And they're like no, and
then she's okay. And then my sister, my niece is
more like blonde brown, and my other niece is a
lot darker like my sister was Columbian. We're a little bity,
so our skin tones all very So she says to
my niece, my own nas shees, Wila, because of Martin
the King, we can be friends. And she goes, I'm
not black.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
Yeah, well, you know, to you how they interpret.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
And it was not her teacher that told us there
was some other kid in her class.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
I remember our story my mother told me when I
was a kid, because you know, I grew up my dad,
I mentioned this was a Buddhist. Yeah, and my parents
were Hippies and so they were very much not racist,
and they were into love and peace and all that.
And so I grew up learning about racism and being
taught that everybody is equal and we don't look at
skin collar like very much. So since a young age.
(03:03):
But my mother told me a story when she was
young growing up in Medford. So this would be the
like sixties, early sixties. There was a black family that
moved onto the street and it was a big deal.
People were upset, they were mad. And then she became
friends with the daughter of the family because her parents
raised her the same way. I get it, see generation. Yeah,
So anyway, one night she was eating dinner with her
(03:25):
friend the black family, and in the middle of dinner
in the dining room, a giant rock was thrown around
out the window and almost hit them at the table.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
That's like, remember the Titans. I remember the Tightens, that
scene where they were you know they were Denzel was
a black coach, and you know.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
Yeah, yeah, I mean racism. I think the world had
they had. The country I should say, has gotten better,
but they'll always be racism, but much better than it
used to be. It's really hard to watch movies and
reenactments of what it used to be.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Like.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
You know, when your niece says, you know, we can
be together because of Martin Luther King. You know, remember
they had bathrooms that were separate waterfountain.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Well, you know what's crazy is that Ruby Bridges, who
was the first child to be to go into a
white school like down in the South. She's only like
sixty five. Yeah, she's only sixty five. She could be
our mom. Yeah, that's crazy, that's crazy. I don't even
think she's seventy yet she's literally the that's like, that's insane.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Yeah, it wasn't. It wasn't that long ago. No, it
really wasn't. And I don't know, it's just so weird.
It's so crazy to me to think back, like to
that time, even going back to slavery. Yeah, and like
the mindset of another human because of their skin color,
could be a slave and you would own that person. Yeah,
it's so like far fetched to me, but that was
really true.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
When you think about how much your skin color can
differ no matter what your races, you know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
Yeah, Like I dated the girl once, an Italian girl,
and her brothers were racist and they didn't like that
she was dating a Spanish even though I'm half Paro. Yeah,
and it was I took one of the big the
worst beatings of my life. Really, they almost killed me. Yeah,
I never told you the story. No, I was dating her.
She lived in Everett. She had two older brothers and
they played like I was cool with them and everything,
(05:04):
and then one day I'll never forget. I was at
her house and we were getting ready to leave and
they were there with the two brothers and two of
their friends were there and her mom was there, and
we're sitting around and I felt the vibe was off,
but I didn't read the room. And so then she
comes to me and my girlfriend and says, let's get
out of here, and I'm like, we just got here,
and she goes, no, let's go. So she goes net
(05:26):
them to get changed, and then she comes out like
and she's like, let's go. So I'm like, okay, and
I just didn't understand whatever. So I got up to
walk to her room to get to walk out with her,
and as I'm walking to her, I got hit in
the head with a lead pipe and then they I
don't really remember it, but they fucking stomped the shit
out of me, Whinnie, And all I remember is they
were on top of me and I'm trying to cover
(05:47):
up and they're punching and kicking me, and the brother's
looking at me and he goes, you fucking spick, spinning
spitting in my face, you fucking dirty spick, like it
was bad, and they ended up, I went unconscious and
they dragged me out to the front, threw me like
in the sewer, oh the shoe, and they go, that's
where you fucking something like that, and I kind of
was in and out of it, and they ended up
calling nine one one. The ambulance came, took me to
(06:09):
the hospital. I was in the hospital for overnight. The
next day she was there with me and kind of
like I was like kind of in and out or whatever,
had a concussion and I don't forget. The next day,
the word go back to my friends what happened. And
my friends were like, we're gonna fucking kill these people.
And I was like really in love with this girl,
and she was like, please, this is my family. Please,
(06:31):
You're just gonna make it worse. I know I'll never
talk to them again, but please, please please. And I
never did anything. I never know how much were you
with the girl a couple of years. She was my first,
like longtime girlfriend. She was an amazing I fucked your sister,
I know then. What the craziest part is the mother
knew what was gonna happen. Oh, the mother went into
the shower. I found this horrible people. Yeah, do you
(06:52):
know what happened to the girl? Yeah, I'm heard that
are on Facebook. She's cool, she lives, she lives in Wakefield.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
Family.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
Well, no, she's doing She didn't do anything wrong. She
didn't know what was coming. The mother though. The mother
different story. And the brothers fucked them to both of
them to so they get a Resturan. They got nothing.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
I did.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
I didn't know. I didn't press charges. I didn't I
didn't do anything. Because their namesout them right now, what
would have happened is I would have went to Malden.
And I'm not gonna say. I'm not gonna say Anthony Anthony.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
Of course, Anthony saying, oh he's real Saint Sting Anthony.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
What's the other one's name? Gary?
Speaker 2 (07:31):
Okay, Gary, your name is Gary?
Speaker 1 (07:33):
Can I can I be honest about something that I do?
Sometimes so there are other people that not to that extent,
that have crossed me or had I had a problem
with it whatever, And sometimes okay, I try to act
my life with humility. I do my best.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
You look them up or something.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
Sometimes I look them up these people and I've done
it to these two to see where they're at, like
they were around, what are doing but they're not doing
what they're doing that much teeth rotting, right, Scrubby.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
Fuck you Anthony and fuck you Gary, Thank your mother.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
That's my way to be, you know.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
Yeah, and you know you have nice teeth now I do. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
I mean they cost you know a lot of money.
But but yeah, don't be racist, man, it doesn't matter.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
So tomorrow we have your guy on. I'm so excited
Tomorrow's Tuesday.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
No, I know, Oh Maddy Power. Yeah, I forgot about Maddie. Yeah,
I forgot Maddy from Power of Recovery.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
Yes, I'm so excited. So that's an extended podcast.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
Did I tell you who he's bringing in?
Speaker 2 (08:29):
Who?
Speaker 1 (08:31):
I didn't tell you? What's bringing?
Speaker 2 (08:32):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (08:32):
My god? Do you remember me telling the story of
the Johnny Bart the guy who did twenty seven years
in prison and then came out and then I follow
on Instagram podcast and no, yeah, he goes on podcasts.
But he's friends with Nick Verano. He's all over the
and he like he's like super happy and living his
best life after doing twenty seven years. He's been clean,
(08:52):
he's in recovery and he works for Power of Recovery.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
That's gonna be That's gonna be a great podcast.
Speaker 1 (08:56):
Yeah. So I was like, I followed this guy on Instagram.
I don't know him. I just know him from Instagram.
Everyone loves him, he has his own merch he just
seems like a good guy. And then he got a
job with Maddie and so I DM. I text Maddie,
I go, you know him and he goes, yeah, he
works for me. And I'm like, is he cool? And
he's like, he's the best. I go bring him in.
So then I get a DM from Johnny Barr and
(09:18):
he's like, I cannot believe that you know who I am.
And I'm like, dude, you're the celebrity and not me.
You're missed the fucking in the North End. And so anyway,
he's coming in with him.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
Oh that's so exciting. I have so much we talked
to him about.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
Yeah, I mean you want to talk about you know,
