and one of the oldest taverns in America, Warren Tavern
in Charlestown. The general manager, Kim is going to be
one of my guests. Nice and Jimmy Lang, who has
the Jimmy Lang. Yeah, Jimmy Lan.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
We love Jimmy Lang.
Speaker 4 (00:46):
Hey, this is Danielle from New Hampshire. I was so
excited to hear that you had Jimmy on. I have
been a fan of Fuji for over twenty years. I
used to go to the original location in Walston for
Tuesday night specials. I left for Denver and came back
to New England, so congratulat your success. Jimmy loved those restaurants.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
Yeah, Jimmy has a new steakhouse and he brought a
bunch of these pastries.
Speaker 5 (01:09):
They also have a new bakery.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
I'm looking at what are these? They look like giant
strawberries and lemons, but it's cake, right.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
Yeah, and he brought the croisson he got ham and
cheese cross.
Speaker 6 (01:20):
Yeah, it's Neuveau something like that. It's on Hancock Street, Quinsey,
on the corner of Billings. I don't know how to
see the name of it.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
I got Mason's, the steakhouse's newest place.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
I would tell you my Fuji story.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
No you haven't.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
Oh, Okay.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
One time, my wife Jen and I went to Assembly
Row and it was my cheat night. You know, I
overdo it on cheat nights. I used to do it
a lot worse. I spent probably close to one hundred
dollars on sushi for myself. I ate so much sushi
that by like the third or fourth time that I
asked for another you know, plate, they were just disgusted
(01:54):
by me. The waitress was like.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
The management was discussed a little bit.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
I think they're not in a bad way, but they
would just like, wow, I must have ate forty pieces
of sushi.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
Fantastic.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Yeah, by the way, there's the foodie right down the
street the world.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
Yeah, yeah, that was the one.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
But he's got them everywhere now. But Mason's is his
new steakhouse. It's in Quincy. You know where it is, right, It's.
Speaker 6 (02:15):
Right in Quinney Center. It's an old the old Masonic Temple.
It's a beautiful building.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
You know what when he God forbid?
Speaker 1 (02:21):
Yesterday someone called into the Billion Lisa Show and asked
for a recommendation. They had just worked. They got a
job in Quincy, and they said, when he help me,
what do I go check out? She said Burger King,
Oh yeah, pop Eyes.
Speaker 6 (02:33):
No no, no, I didn't say I was just saying
what but no, he I mean, Jimmy is a Quincy legend.
Speaker 5 (02:39):
I remember when I was a little girl.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
Listen into the Suck Up session.
Speaker 5 (02:42):
No he is. He ran for like uh city council.
Speaker 6 (02:47):
He lost, but he did run and we had Jimmy
Lang posters all over the.
Speaker 5 (02:52):
All over the city. He's a really he's awesome guy.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
He's so good and you love his restaurant so much
that to give a tip, she chose Burger King.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
You know what, she is full of shit.
Speaker 5 (03:03):
I was just going off way.
Speaker 6 (03:04):
Okay, So this girl is living literally on the street
I grew up on. So I was like thinking, like, Oh,
what's the right around there? I said, Cot and Pizza
which is a subshop down the hill. Donu King, which
is a don't spot down the hill.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
You never mentioned Fuji or Mason's the steakhout. Mays haven't
been to you.
Speaker 5 (03:19):
It just opened.
Speaker 6 (03:20):
It will be going now though I've been dying to
try it two locations.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
Ask her why she's going now because she has a gift.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
No.
Speaker 6 (03:26):
Anyways, we talked about going as a family. We said
we wanted to go try it. We're big fans of
Jimmy Lang.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Anyway, Jimmy Lang will be one of my guests on
Food for Thought every Sunday night, six o'clock on WBZ
News Radio, part of the iHeartRadio Networks.
Speaker 5 (03:42):
Oh isn't it?
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Yes it is.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
I loved on the show this morning when when he
was telling her Karen story about you know, getting the
car towed and here's a farming complex. Uh, listen to
the podcast if you haven't listened to it, but a
listener called in to defend Winnie, and she goes, I
don't understand. When did it start being about being a
Karen instead of being a good person and just helping
somebody out. And Billy goes, well, you don't know, Winnie,
(04:05):
so normally that would be true.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Good person would never cross our minds Okay, it's busy body.
Speaker 6 (04:10):
I did not mean to get them towed, but I
probably did solidify.
Speaker 5 (04:15):
The towing when I double back. Of course, I went
to the office twice.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
Yeah, you're gonna get that car out of here. I
can hear you now, remember me, I was here ten
minutes ago.
Speaker 5 (04:23):
That car is still out there with Jagravia. It was
out there for.
Speaker 6 (04:26):
An hour and a half costa. Yeah, I walked the
dog at eleven thirty. I walked back fminjam about one pm.
It's still there.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
You have to give us a follow up.
Speaker 5 (04:35):
You have to go back to the office.
Speaker 6 (04:37):
The one of the girls, she follows me on Instagram,
so I DMed her. I was like, yo, what happened?
She goes, I can't let you know. You're a journalists.
Like I'm not a journalist.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
No, I need the residence who's car you had, Toad?
I need him to know that you had it done.
Speaker 5 (04:49):
It was an Audi. It was an Audi, all right?
Speaker 3 (04:52):
Okay, okay.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
If you're living in an apartment building in where is
it Randolph and you drive an Audi that was towed
Winnie on the billions of Morning show, get in drive it.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
You could have moved it.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
You could have moved it.
Speaker 5 (05:08):
Then if I crashed it, is it my fault?
Speaker 3 (05:10):
You move it right over?
Speaker 2 (05:11):
Actually, I really want the explanation as to why it
was running and right in the middle of the parking lot.
Speaker 6 (05:16):
No, not come on like that's weird at that time
of day when there's you could have just he could
have just he or she could have just pulled into
a spot.
Speaker 5 (05:24):
If you on my Instagram in Winnie's world.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
You'll see you just watch.
Speaker 5 (05:27):
I watched the video and did you not see how
open the parking lot was?
Speaker 3 (05:31):
I did? I did? I did?
Speaker 5 (05:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
Hey, you know the the big ed sharing buzz story
on the Billy and Lisa Morning Show tomorrow we could
have some updated information on that.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
Yes, things keep rolling out on this story.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
Yeah, so you got to listen to find out right,
all right, I'll get out of here.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
B I know you got Jimmy.
Speaker 5 (05:51):
Can I just make a little shameless plug?
Speaker 3 (05:53):
Oh god, okay, we absolutely yeah.
Speaker 5 (05:56):
I mean it is my Justin and I you know,
oh I'm in the way.
Speaker 6 (06:00):
No no no no no no no.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
No no no, don't know, don't okay, so discissive it.
Speaker 6 (06:06):
I have been nominated for the twenty twenty five Boston
business Woman Award Women's Award.
Speaker 2 (06:14):
What business does you? Who nominated personality?
Speaker 3 (06:17):
And who put you in?
Speaker 5 (06:18):
I have no idea.
Speaker 6 (06:20):
Unfortunately the category is me, Gianna, Lisa, and Ashley felt
me from jamming, So it's kind of it's it's kind
of weird to go against all of them.
Speaker 5 (06:30):
I don't really like that.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
Read can you withdraw from this?
Speaker 2 (06:36):
I know the sake of us and the show you
need to withdraw.
Speaker 6 (06:41):
I did not ask for this. I I didn't even
know what it was. I got d end from them.
So whoever you had to be nominated by a bunch
of people. Whoever nominated me without me even lobbying or
knowing about it, thank you so much.
Speaker 5 (06:51):
It means a lot to me.
Speaker 6 (06:53):
I swear to god, I had no idea. I thought
it was spam at first when I saw it. And
by the way, who's God you swearing to mine?
Speaker 3 (07:01):
Okay?
Speaker 5 (07:02):
No, normal, I mean normal God? Whoever? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (07:07):
Right?
Speaker 5 (07:08):
But yeah no?
Speaker 3 (07:09):
Is there an award ceremony?
Speaker 5 (07:10):
I don't think so. No, but it would be cool.
Speaker 6 (07:12):
I mean I would prefer to not be up against
three girls I work with.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
But at the same time, you're gonna shamelessly ask everybody
to vote for you.
Speaker 6 (07:19):
If you love the show, you love the podcast, you're
listening to this obviously because you appreciate my work, then
maybe they'll give me a vote.
Speaker 5 (07:27):
It's a very confusing website.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
So they're choosing you as the Woman of the Year
over Lisa Ashley and Gianna.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
You're people to vote for you over them.
Speaker 5 (07:39):
I'm saying, if you want to vote.
Speaker 6 (07:41):
If you're a Winni fan, right, we would vote for
me anyways, got it all right?
Speaker 2 (07:45):
Do they pay for sabbaticals? How does that work? If
I wanted to go on sabbatical for the duration of
this little contest.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
You can go anytime you want.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
What do I get?
Speaker 6 (07:56):
It's not like a competition. I wouldn't care if I'm
whoever wins wins.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
But private company, Justine, it would be nice to win,
could donate to my sabbatical. They could, right, So I
could just go to Africa for six months.
Speaker 5 (08:08):
And if Ashley Feldman one, because she's.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
The only one not this three Kiss girls Ashley, Yeah.
Speaker 5 (08:16):
But I would I either want to win or want
her to win.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
What's what's the what's the description of the.
Speaker 5 (08:21):
Award Best Radio Personality?
Speaker 2 (08:23):
You said it was a business.
Speaker 6 (08:25):
Award, so it's the Boston business Woman's Awards. So there's
a bunch of categories like best Restaurant, best best spa,
best radio host, best got it, you know what I mean,
best whatever. There's a bunch of categories.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Do you want to be a part of this fight?
Speaker 5 (08:40):
It's not a fight I haven't mentioned to anybody.
Speaker 6 (08:43):
I haven't talked about with Lisha Gianna or Ashley as well.
I think it's weird. Yeah, it's a weird conversation.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
Because who's the best olthough.
Speaker 5 (08:51):
I will say I didn't lobby for nomination.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
Somebody else did.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
What I thought that.
Speaker 6 (08:59):
I The reason I know this was because I saw
for a nomination weeks ago. I didn't even know what
this was, and then.
Speaker 2 (09:05):
I would lobby for aenomen It was like nominate me.
Speaker 5 (09:09):
I didn't I got nominated. I didn't know who.
Speaker 6 (09:11):
Did her followers, But how come this it's only iHeart,
it's just who they dominated. I mean, it's not like
they didn't nominate anyone from Beasley or like it's not
like they didn't nominate Kennedy or I don't know.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
It's in house.
Speaker 6 (09:25):
No, in the Boston thing, it just happened to be
that the four people that got nominated.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
Again just getting back, yeah, yeah, or hiatus. What's the
difference between a sabbatical and all I know.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
Is I have enough audio of you that you don't
even have.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
To commit, right, they will give me a grant, maybe.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
Because justmon both of me.
Speaker 5 (09:44):
I didn't know for ash he has a heart on
for Ashley Felder.
Speaker 3 (09:48):
That is not true.
Speaker 5 (09:49):
It is true.
Speaker 6 (09:50):
That's one of his closest friends, his biggest mentor. He
started off with her, and that's fine, that's fine.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
She's talking down to the I don't know what you're talking.
Speaker 3 (10:01):
I didn't even know what you were talking about.
Speaker 5 (10:03):
If he does vote, he don't know.
Speaker 3 (10:05):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
I really need to get people.
Speaker 5 (10:08):
I couldn't vote for you because I have Lisa.
Speaker 3 (10:10):
What about Lisa?
Speaker 5 (10:11):
What I'm saying, right, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
I can't. I can't vote for anybody.
Speaker 5 (10:16):
I know.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
You know what.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
We can never talk about this again, we know.
Speaker 6 (10:24):
I know. That's why I didn't bring up anyway. I'm
not bringing up on the show. He just did no
on our morning show, Like, oh god, I'm.
Speaker 5 (10:30):
Not bringing that up. I'm not bringing it up. Then
the voting is like a month long two which is annoying.
A month I'm gonna bring it up.
Speaker 6 (10:39):
I might post on my Instagram right now and then yeah,
like every day, No, not every day.
Speaker 5 (10:43):
I don't really.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
God, she's begging for I'm not.
Speaker 5 (10:46):
Begging for it.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
Awesome something or whoever begs the most.
Speaker 5 (10:50):
I don't want to beg.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
I'm not beg call what you're doing now.
Speaker 5 (10:54):
I'm encouraging. I'm I'm just pointing out something.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
Okay, all I was saying, if you're a Winnie fan,
vote for Winny.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
That's what you're saying.
Speaker 5 (11:02):
Vote for Pedro? Can you write in? I'm gonna write him.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
Can I vote for Pedro?
Speaker 3 (11:08):
All right? We gotta go here?
Speaker 2 (11:10):
Could I write him in? Oh God, I gotta go.
I'm going home, and I think I need to stay home.
Speaker 5 (11:17):
You're not going home. You have to interview Jimmy Lang.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
Oh right, Oh you have another shower to go? Oh man. Anyway,
we'll talk tomorrow. Goodbye,
