Would You Move a Roadblock… Into Wet Cement? Wild Moments, Big Wins & Unexpected Truths You Can’t Miss

“What happens when you ignore a ‘Road Closed’ sign… and it turns out to be freshly poured cement?”

This episode of The JB and Sandy Show is packed with laugh-out-loud moments, surprising stories, and those real-life conversations that keep you hooked from start to finish.

It kicks off with relatable hilarity as the crew dives into mealtime etiquette—why do we all awkwardly wait for someone else to take the first bite? And JB drops a truth bomb: “When I’m shouting that dinner’s ready, you better come get your butt in the seat!”—a sentiment every home cook understands.

Then, the show shifts gears with viral buzz and pop culture, featuring insights from Stephen Presley. From Ella Langley’s raw, goosebump-worthy cover of a classic hit to a bold prediction that this could be “the best movie summer in a decade,” you’ll get the inside scoop on what everyone will be talking about.

In the wildly entertaining Care or Don’t Care segment, things get unpredictable:
  • A driver ignores a road closure and ends up stuck in wet cement (yes, really).

  • A heated debate on child-free dining sparks some brutally honest opinions.

  • And a morning routine “hack” gets hilariously dismissed: “I won’t do it, and I won’t remember it.”

The heart of the episode shines through with an inspiring Austin story—after a devastating accident, a local band receives overwhelming support, raising over $170,000. It’s a powerful reminder of what community really means.

Plus:
  • A lightning-fast trivia win that proves sometimes simple is genius

  • A jaw-dropping lottery story that will have you questioning everything (“One ticket… that’s it!”)

  • A fascinating and slightly bizarre study on marriage and the phrase “my lovely wife”

  • And real talk about parenting milestones, including the nerves that come with teaching your teen to drive: “It takes praying to a whole new level.”

From humor and heartfelt moments to unexpected insights, this episode captures everything you love about JB, Sandy, and Tricia—authentic, unfiltered, and always entertaining.

Okay, Jamie, you're ready.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
I'm ready.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
Tricia, are you ready?

Speaker 3 (00:11):
I'm ready. You're very ominous sounding.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
I'm just making sure it's ready.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
Go fight.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
I was born unprepared.

Speaker 4 (00:20):

you got a funny You got something to make everybody laugh?

Speaker 5 (00:48):
Of course I do. If you offer me food and
I say no, please ask me again. I was just
being shy the first time. I really want the food.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
You know what, I always frustrate you ever have people
over your house and you have dinner or whatever, just
it's just family or whatever. When dinner's ready to eat
and then everyone just kind of stands around.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Yeah, let's I'm the one who breaks that seal.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
I'll go, I'll go.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
Yeah, I'll be first.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
Yeah, I always wait.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
Yeah, I do too. It's kind of the way I
was brought up. But somebody started, right, Tricia, she did
get in there.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
I don't care.

Speaker 6 (01:22):
You know what I understand now that I did not
understand as a kid with my mom because I do
the cooking in my house. When I'm shouting that dinner's ready.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
You better come get your butt in the seat.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Yeah, infuriates me.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Me too. I don't cook that often, but I don't,
so I need.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
To call my mom and apologize.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
Sweekend, Hey, Tricia, like she said, like dinner's ready.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
And let's say she made dinner, dinners ready, and then
two minutes later you walk in there, she's already sitting
there eat.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
Wait, I'm ready to eat.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
And what was kind of funny when Tristaan I first start.
I think the first holiday that we spent together with
my parents, there was always a rule in my house
that nobody ate until my mommy.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Oh you just you don't lift it.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
Nobody mommy first. After mom had the first bite, then
everybody else could eat, like the queen.

Speaker 6 (02:15):
That's a lost thing. The same thing in a restaurant.
You don't start eating until everyone has their food service.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
I agree with that.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
I agree with that one hundred percent. So that's your
etiquette lesson.

Speaker 5 (02:24):
Yeah, you thought it was like some story of Heathen
because we all sat down at.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
The table and I just started eating. Yeah, Mom had
Mom hadn't taken a bite.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
The table was going to collapse. You're up with jb
Insandy nety eight one.

Speaker 6 (02:36):
Bet.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
Stephen Presley from that thunder Pop TV joins us follow
him on all your social media's. It's ninety eight one,
kvet let's talk about what everyone else is talking about.
Ella Langley has gone viral. Tell everybody about it.

Speaker 7 (02:50):
Ella's really good. And I'm an Ella fellow by the way,
me too. But Ella is, you know, really good with
the tiktoks. Lately, she's going viral for a cover she
did very stripped down TikTok cover she did of All
Things Wasted Days and Wasted Nights by Freddy Fender.

Speaker 4 (03:06):
Oh man, really, that's cool, that's a question.

Speaker 3 (03:10):
Yeah it is.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
It's like early Tiny Sandy memories of that song Waste Today.

Speaker 7 (03:17):
Yeah, yeah, she nails it. It's just so raw. I
think they probably was did on her iPhone. I want
to see like a real clean in the studio like
cover of it now.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
I wanted to do. I'll be there before the next
tear drop falls. Do you remember that one? Yeah, that
was a Freddy Fender one too.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
I'll take Freddy Fender for.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
I wake up this morning, think I was talking about
Freddy Fender. But here I am, here, I am.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
Oh.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
You also say that this could be the best movie
summer in a decade.

Speaker 7 (03:48):
Yeah, I think so. I mean it's really loaded. You
think about like we just had a new Star Wars
movie came out last week, There's a he Man Masters
of the Universe movie, and there's actually the early buzz
on that is really strong. Toy Story five is dropping
also early summer. That one is going to be the
Toys versus the iPad.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
Like my money's on the iPad.

Speaker 7 (04:14):
As their new arts nemesis in the new movie. There's
a new Spider Man movie Minions. I mean, is it
is loaded?

Speaker 5 (04:22):
Also, don't forget about that Steven Spielberg movie Disclosure Day.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
Yes, oh man, I can't wait to see that. Go ahead.

Speaker 6 (04:30):
No, I'm just saying, I'm just craving something with just
like real people having real conversations. Does it always have
to be a superhero or in space or yeah, yeah,
I know that's in your wheelhouse, Steven.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
I don't mean to offend you.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
Sure you're wanting a romantic comedy, JB. No, just humans,
real humans, well not aliens.

Speaker 8 (04:50):
I've got something for you too.

Speaker 7 (04:52):
I mean a weekend that normally would be a slow
the people would consider a slow weekend. But right in
the middle of that weekend, we've got a new movie
with Brendan Fraser, historical war movie he plays.

Speaker 8 (05:04):
He plays Dwight Eisenhower.

Speaker 5 (05:06):
He's also trying to get back into fight and shape
because he's doing another Mummy movie.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
Did you hear that?

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Yes?

Speaker 8 (05:12):
With the rock I believe coming back?

Speaker 9 (05:14):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (05:15):
I think so, Steven.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
Did you say, what's the name of that Brandon Fraser movie? Again?

Speaker 8 (05:19):
It's called Pressure?

Speaker 4 (05:21):
Okay, all right? Like I said, I've seen the preview
a million times on TikTok. Can't remember the name of
the movie. Stephen Presley, thanks for joining us man follow

something care, don't called care, don't characterrist. It throws out
three topics at us. If we care to hear more,
shall tell us. If we don't, we move right along?
Which guy?

Speaker 5 (05:48):
All right, here we go? Do you care don't care?
To find out what happened to a Wisconsin driver when
he came up on a road closed barricade and decided
it's not closed for me, got out, moved in a
over and then proceeded to to have some problems.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
Yeah yeah, yeah, So what he did.

Speaker 5 (06:06):
Not realize what the road was closed was because they
had just poured brand new wet cement The apparently looked
like it was a normal road. Drove right into it,
sunk down, got stuck, and it later it showed giant
pieces of machinery having to pull his truck out of
the cement. See, so Wisconsin's like, yeah, when you see

(06:26):
the roads road closed sign, just.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
Somehow, some way he'll get a big settlement and a
Lossit Probably somewhere.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
A lawyer will get a hold of this.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
Do you guys care or don't care to find out?
What more?

Speaker 5 (06:38):
Americans say they want as an option when they go
out to eat at restaurants.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
I'm curious.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Yeah, we eat a lot, so I'm curious.

Speaker 5 (06:45):
Three quarters of Americans say that they want child free
dining options at restaurants, especially if they're upper class restaurants,
like a no kids section, no kids section, or no
kid's night. Yeah, something that they aren't bothered by kids.
Adult only dining is what they say they want. Seventy
five percent of people say that I.

Speaker 4 (07:05):
Could I could agree with that. I mean, especially if
it's a nicer restaurant that you're spending a little bit
of money and.

Speaker 6 (07:10):
It could be a big occasion you're you know, big
anniversary or yeah, yeah, I see that.

Speaker 5 (07:15):
Because my thing is if you're outed a restaurant and
your kid starts crying, My problem is when the people
don't do anything, Like if our kid cried when she
was little, we would get it and take her outside,
specifically to not bother the other people in the restaurant.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
Some people just sit there and let their kid cry.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
Yeah, we had a.

Speaker 4 (07:31):
Kid running all over the place, or our little local
Mexican place last weekend, kept running by our table every
thirty seconds, just sitting there, just sitting.

Speaker 6 (07:39):
There, sucking down Marguerite isn't it pretending it didn't happening, and.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
Both Trician and I said at about the same time,
if that were me, my buddy be read.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
I'd have gotten snatched up so fast.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Yep, circle weapon, circle.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Whipping, that's what would have happened.

Speaker 6 (07:53):
You're spending around, We're trying to run, but it's like
you're on a track.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
Yep, exactly.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
I think I know the answer to this, But do
you guys care? Don't care?

Speaker 5 (08:03):
To find out what experts say you should do every
morning to ensure you have a good day. It's called
the morning pause, P A U s E method and
p A U s E. Each letter stands for something
you should do.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
I'm gonna tell you this.

Speaker 4 (08:17):
I don't care because I want, I won't do it,
and two I won't remember it a minute after you
tell me what it is.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
Too many letters, Yeah, more things we have to do.

Speaker 6 (08:25):
And I mean, my watch is already telling me to
stand up all the time.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
I don't need another parent.

Speaker 6 (08:33):
Lost Up with Sandy.

Speaker 4 (08:36):
One Cavett ninety eight one Cavet dra All Time Country Favorites,
Good Morning Now, JB Sandy Story.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
We Love.

Speaker 5 (08:46):
There is a band in Austin. Austin based punk band
called p landers Z. They were out on tour. They
were in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They got in a horrible
car accident. They were struck by a semi All of
the band members ended up being a hospitalized major injuries.
All their future shows have been canceled. But in true
Austin fashion, especially as the music capital of the world,

(09:08):
Austin has stepped up and a go fundme has raised
over one hundred and seventy thousand dollars.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
Fast band. Wow, just a small little band in Austin.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
That's Austin stepping.

Speaker 3 (09:19):
Up, right.

Speaker 5 (09:20):
I love stuff like this. They are going to be
taken care of. I mean it's not like they're some
hugely popular band. They're popular, but they're not some giant
band on a big stage.

Speaker 6 (09:29):
Yeah, it's boy. I used to have a music series
where we film bands playing in my airstream and you know,
it's very few that are in the Prevo bus with
a driver.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
I mean, you are a rock star at that point.

Speaker 6 (09:44):
Most of them are in a gritty old Dodge van
with a trailer behind it with all their gear and
they're on the road like they finish a gig in
Dallas and someone drives to Austin, they go to bed
at three am, you know, get up, start promoting it.

Speaker 2 (10:01):
They're on the road a lot.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
Yeah, I was.

Speaker 4 (10:04):
It's a tough it's a tough gig. And the I've
heard from musicians in Austin, like, the real defining moment
in your Austin music career is we don't have to
have a day job, right, Guy Forsyth told me that,
and he's like, when you don't have to have a
day job, you've kind of made it.

Speaker 6 (10:20):
Yeah, and then and then it's van life, and then
the van people, the van bands get really envious.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
The next step is a sprinter van.

Speaker 6 (10:29):
Upgrade, and then you go to and when you make
the jump to a bus.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
So that's a big time Yeah. Sorry, trust now.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
I was going to say that. I like how they
describe themselves their music Japanese action comic punk.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
And they do big costumes instead he was about him.

Speaker 6 (10:44):
Yeah, I haven't heard him, but I was reading about it.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
They've been at south By Southwest for a few years.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
But hopefully they'll all recover.

Speaker 4 (10:51):
Yeah, good job Austin racing one hundred and seventy thousand bucks.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
That is the story.

Speaker 10 (10:55):
We love Austen up with JB and Sandy ninety eight one.
It's time for a JB in Sandy's ninety eight days
of summer.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
Minute to mine all right?

Speaker 10 (11:08):
Ten ridiculously easy questions, sixty seconds on the clock, and
everybody wins. Let's meet today's contestant.

Speaker 4 (11:17):
Today's contestant is in Austin. His name is Curtis.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
Good luck, Curtis. I'm gonna try to help you through this.

Speaker 4 (11:24):
We've we've got sixty seconds on the clock. Here we
go in three two one?

Speaker 6 (11:31):
What do you call a baby dog? What shape has
three sides?

Speaker 5 (11:37):
Triangle?

Speaker 2 (11:38):
What do cows drink water? That one shakes people? That's
a good one. How many wheels does a bicycle have?

Speaker 1 (11:47):
Two?

Speaker 6 (11:48):
What is the opposite of hot cold? What do you
wear on your feet to walk outside?

Speaker 1 (11:55):
Shoot?

Speaker 2 (11:56):
Okay?

Speaker 6 (11:56):
Which ocean animal has eight arms? What meal do you
usually eat in the morning?

Speaker 1 (12:04):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (12:04):
What color are stop signs? Last one?

Speaker 6 (12:09):
What do you call the place where books are kept
for people to borrow?

Speaker 1 (12:17):
Big winner? Another? Big Curtis you smart? Curtis?

Speaker 4 (12:23):
You've got tickets to see the Randy Rogers Band August
fifteenth at the Round Rock Amphitheater.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
Congratulations man, that is awesome. Thanks guys, I appreciate it.
I'm so excited, honey.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
When Cavet, your all time country favorites with JB and Sandy,
were joined by the voice of the Long Horns, the
one and the only Craig Wave. We got a big
weekend of baseball this weekends. Tell us your thoughts on
the Long Horns chances in this tournament.

Speaker 9 (12:46):
Well, I'll tell you, Sady, I like their chances and
that they come in as the number six national seed,
playing at home, and they'll play today at noon and
we'll have that game on AM thirteen under the Zone
again eleven forty five this morning with coverage. They're playing
Holy Cross, who won an automatic bid by winning the
Patriot League. And so I think the Long Worn chances
are pretty good in that what everybody is going to

(13:08):
be curious to see is what happens in the other game.
The two seed Cal Santa Barbara and the three seed
Tarleton State from just up the road in Stephnville. UCSB
has one of the nation's top pitchers, if not the
best pitcher starting pitcher in the country in Jackson, Flora.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
The question will be will the Galchos pitch.

Speaker 9 (13:30):
Him against Tarleton or might they roll the dice, pitch
somebody else gamble at the win that game against Tarleton,
save him for a Saturday night showdown in the winners
bracket against Texas, with Dylan Valantis expected to throw on
Saturday for Texas. So that's what's going to be intriguing
the watch. The Texas game is the first game, that's
at noon, and then at five o'clock will be the

(13:52):
two seed UCSB against the three seed Tarleton State. Keep
an eye on that because if the Long Wrns handle
their business and then they move into the winners bracket
on Saturday night to take on the winner of that
Santa Barbara Tarlton game. And if you win that game,
you're only one win away from the Super Regionals. You
need only one win and two tries to do it.
And of course, if the Long Orange win the regional,

(14:13):
they as a top eight national seed would get to
host the Super Regional the next weekend against probably either
Oregon or Oregon State. The regionals up in Eugene, Oregon,
and those are the two favorites up there, so it'll
be a lot of fun. Should be a pretty interesting
starting at noon.

Speaker 1 (14:28):
Today, on Am thirteen hundred the zone.

Speaker 9 (14:30):
That's exactly right, begin eleven forty five this morning.

Speaker 4 (14:32):
Thank you, Craig, you bet ninety eight one Cavet's are
all time country favorites. It's the JB and Sandy Show.
If you want to be a part of the show.
Eight four, four three nine zero Cavett is the number.
The weekend is upon us. JB has put together some
stuff to get out and do this weekend in Austin.

Speaker 6 (14:46):
If you don't have plans, I know some of you
like to chill and stay in your Jammi's all weekend.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
Trisha, I do.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
I'm both.

Speaker 6 (14:56):
But if you do want to get out and if
you've never seen Jerry Seinfeld live, highly recommend it. It's
a bucket list of some of one of the greatest
comics ever at the Basque Concert Hall and there may
still be tickets available.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
Two shows tonight at seven and nine thirty.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
Nice.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
The ATX TV Fest is back this year.

Speaker 6 (15:15):
This is season fifteen. If you can believe that, what
do they do with that? It's just like a film fest.
A couple of young Austin women started it. They were like,
why isn't there a TV fest just like a film fest.
The big attraction of the TV Fest is they always
do one big reunion of a show and get all
of them up on stage. I love it when they
do that. And this year it's Friday Night Lights.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
Woh.

Speaker 6 (15:39):
I was just telling Tricia the other day she has
not seen it as one of the best TV series
I've ever seen.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
In my life.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
Yeah, I put it back on my two watch list.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
So good.

Speaker 6 (15:48):
Also, the Hill Country Gallery at Wine and Food Fest
is going on this weekend. Go to Austin Food and
Wine Austin Food and Wine Festival dot com for more
information on that. The Austin Record Convention, Yeah man, at
the convention, Ye, what you're looking for?

Speaker 1 (16:08):
You looking for? You man? Are you going?

Speaker 6 (16:14):
And last, but not least, the Art of Banksy. This
is a it's called Without Limits. It opens this weekend
and it goes through September ninth. But if you're not
familiar with Banksy.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
He's this mystery graffiti street.

Speaker 6 (16:30):
Artist and you know, no one really knows. I think
he just revealed his face fairly recently. You remember the
art that sold for like over a million dollars and
then got shredded. Yeah, yeah, him, the little the drawing
of the sketch of the little girl holding a balloon.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
Everything's black and white, at the balloon is colored. That's him.

Speaker 6 (16:51):
That's one of his most iconic things. But really interesting, dude.
One of my favorite moments with him is he set
up like a like a street bus because no one
knew what he looked like. He was selling his art
for fifty dollars. You could have bought prints. Wow, these
things are worth a fortune.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
Yeah, kind of exposing people that you.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
Don't really you don't know what you don't know.

Speaker 4 (17:12):
You don't know what you don't know. There you go,
get out, enjoy your weekend. Ninety eight one cavet your
all time country favorites with JB and Sandy.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
JB Sandy story We love.

Speaker 3 (17:23):
There was a twenty million dollar jackpot that was one.
It was a powerball jackpot.

Speaker 5 (17:28):
The drawing is on May second, and somebody in Leander
one half.

Speaker 3 (17:33):
Of the jackpots.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
Congratulations.

Speaker 4 (17:35):
Two.

Speaker 3 (17:39):
Go ahead.

Speaker 5 (17:40):
As somebody who has a side lotto business, a little
bit of a lot of expert I will explain why.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
I'm not harangue, but it's really cool. The quick pick
the trip.

Speaker 5 (17:50):
I'm sorry the ticket was one at a quick Trip
on Crystal Falls Parkway. Isn't it weird when you find
out what store it is, and initially.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
It's one you go to that's not that far from you.

Speaker 5 (17:59):
Right now, I've been by that one a hundred times.
It's weird to know that it was worth ten million dollars.
Here's why this person just claimed it. They're staying anonymous.
We don't know who it is. Here's why I'm not
happy and clapping because when this person was asked about
how did you win the lottery, this is what they said.
I'm not a regular lottery player.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
You've alienated everyone.

Speaker 5 (18:22):
I'm already upset about this, but I saw on a
billboard that there had recently been a big jackpot. So
the next morning, when I stopped at the Quick Trip
for a coffee, I just bought one ticket. One one
ticket doesn't ever play, and bought one ticket. A few
days later, we were at running errands and I noticed
the ticket in my wallet, and I thought, I need
to go check that because I need to throw it away.

(18:44):
She didn't like this person, didn't like the clutter in
their wallet, sat down, checked it won ten freaking million dollars.

Speaker 4 (18:50):
Trisa, you got we tell the story about the time
that someone side and gasp and said something up to
you when you were conducting your lotto business.

Speaker 5 (18:58):
Yeah, and getting your stif as in a circle k
conducting my lotto business. It was a little bit busy,
so I had waited on the side to let people
kind of go through.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
And there was nobody in the line.

Speaker 5 (19:08):
I zipped up there doing my lotto business, and magically,
like five people appeared behind me, and I was kind
of trying to be quick with the clerk, and I
heard some lady behind me go.

Speaker 3 (19:18):
Are you serious?

Speaker 5 (19:20):
And I turned around and I said, yeah, I'm serious.
And this lady is working as fast as she can't.

Speaker 3 (19:25):
Please be patient. Her eyes got all big.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
They don't expect you to read.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
Yeah, they think that you're gonna read.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
I don't.

Speaker 5 (19:32):
I can't stand rude people. Yeah, right, M I don't know.
Maybe I go off a little too quickly.

Speaker 6 (19:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (19:38):
Anytime anytime I see someone in the parking lot, like
at the Valero and they're scratching off their ticket, I
always wait to see if they get back out.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
If they get back out, like how much did you win?

Speaker 5 (19:46):
Right?

Speaker 4 (19:46):
Like I went to they're like five dollars of reinvestments
as Austin as.

Speaker 10 (19:50):
He gets jab and Sandy nuety Eat one kaved.

Speaker 4 (19:55):
Steven Presley from at thunder Pop TV joined to find
him on social media and you too Tube at thunder
Pop TV.

Speaker 6 (20:01):
Steven, We're going to talk about a couple of things.
Let's start with the new Netflix show.

Speaker 7 (20:06):
Yeah, there's a new Netflix show, so imagine this.

Speaker 8 (20:09):
This is great.

Speaker 7 (20:10):
It's basically Stranger Things but with old people. Okay, And
it's actually the same creators of Stranger Things that are
on for this one as well, so it's got their
hands all over it. It takes place in a retirement community,
gated retirement community in New Mexico.

Speaker 1 (20:28):
Have you seen this?

Speaker 5 (20:28):
Yes, it's called The Burrows. It's so good. I binged
it last weekend. I watched the whole thing in a weekend,
the whole season. I love it that Netflix released all
the episodes. It's really good.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
And it's called The Burrows.

Speaker 3 (20:41):
At Burrows, It's really good.

Speaker 1 (20:43):
It's on Netflix now.

Speaker 4 (20:46):
From the file of I've got a lot of time
on my hand, let's talk about a guy that watched
two thousand Will of Fortune episodes and did a study
about the men that were on the show.

Speaker 7 (21:00):
Yeah, he started a wonder because he'd noticed whenever men
would come on the show and talk about their wife,
they either would just say and my wife, or they
would say my lovely or my beautiful wife. And he
started to wonder if there was some proof that men
who would say my loveli or beautiful wife stayed in
their marriages more successfully than the men that who did

(21:22):
not refer to them. So he studied two thousand guests
and the ones that identified beautiful versus not saying beautiful
or anything just wife to see who had more divorces,
and he found a substantial difference between the men who
said my lovely wife having less divorces opposed to the
men who said just my wife. That there was a difference.

Speaker 6 (21:45):
I would have guessed the opposite me too. Think. I
think the guys that are sucking up to their wife
it's because they've been in the doghouse, they've been in trouble,
and so publicly they're trying to make good on it.
Like the guys that host sappy things about their wives
all the time on social media.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
I know they're chatting around you're in.

Speaker 5 (22:07):
Trouble, you right, right, But maybe maybe the flip side
of that is the guys who say my lovely wife.
They are the ones who married their best friends. Oh
maybe that's what it is, and when they stay.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
Married gross, Why don't you make it gross?

Speaker 5 (22:21):
I mean, I'm just trying to figure it out morning
here and you just going there and great guarantee. They
all on their invitation said I've been trying to today
and married my best friends.

Speaker 1 (22:32):
They're saying gross things.

Speaker 4 (22:34):
Steven Presley find him on social media and YouTube at
thunder Pop TV. Thank you, Steven ninety eight one cave
your all time country favorites. It's Jab and Sandy along
with Tristia. Get ready to make our way out of here?

Speaker 1 (22:45):
JB. Do you ever do this with your wife? Trist
We got anything going on this weekend.

Speaker 5 (22:51):
Just a big thing tomorrow. Our daughter turned seventeen. Oh yeah,
did you forget about that?

Speaker 1 (22:55):
Yeah? No, I didn't forget.

Speaker 5 (22:57):
Yeah, and not driving yet, but he's getting your license
this summer.

Speaker 6 (23:01):
Yeah, my daughter, Yeah, she was about the say about
a year and a half after sixteen like that. The
kids are not in a rush and there's a lot
more requirements.

Speaker 3 (23:08):
Now, yeah, there are a lot more requirements.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
That's a good driver though I drove.

Speaker 4 (23:11):
She let her drive yesterday, you know, and my my
pucker factor is not as bad as it was. But
like my good friend Scott cross It said, when your
kids starts driving, it takes praying to a whole new level.

Speaker 3 (23:22):
Oh yeah, I just don't know if I'm ready for
that stress. You really don't. I know it has to happen, though.

Speaker 5 (23:28):
So one of the things we did learn today is
that Curtis is our new winner in the Minute to
Win It contest. He called in, he answered ten stupidly
easy questions in less than sixty seconds, and he won
Randy Rogers tickets, And.

Speaker 1 (23:41):
We'll do it again on Monday, just after seven o'clock.

Speaker 5 (23:43):
Another thing we learned today we still don't have anybody
who got the answer right to our mystery oldie question.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
Shocking, shocking, shock.

Speaker 3 (23:51):
I mean, it's what day two.

Speaker 5 (23:53):
Surely somebody I'll get it on Monday, Yeah, probably. Yeah.
And finally we had Steven on from thunder Pop TV.
He said that this might be the best summer movie
movie summer in a long time, and he talked about
a bunch of the movies coming out, bunch of monster movies.

Speaker 3 (24:10):
I'm happy about that a new he Man, the.

Speaker 5 (24:12):
Brendan Fraser movie Pressure, the new Spielberg movie Disclosure. I
think I'm going to be in the theater a lot
this summer.

Speaker 1 (24:18):
Good place to be in summertime in Austin, Texas, inside
a movie theater A good point. Nice and dark and
air conditioning. Are there are in water or interspace? Cave? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (24:29):
True, heavy. A great day everyone, and a great weekend.
We'll be back on Monday.

Speaker 2 (24:33):

Speaker 1 (24:34):
About as Austin as it gets.

Speaker 10 (24:36):
Jab and Sandy on ninety eight one caveat
