(00:03):
Wakem It gets my day going andmakes me lab it Mac and Schmitty in
the morning on Star one oh fivepoint seven. Well, good morning,
Schmidty, good morning. We've allmade it. Nobody's blind had a good
solar eclips Monday. All right, maybe nobody's blind. But here's the thing.
You never wanted to stare directly atthis on more that you did just

(00:26):
a little bit yesterday. I meanI did a couple of times. And
did you immediately get a little scaredwhen you saw, you know, the
lights pop up the little floaters fora couple of seconds. Laigured I could
hire my best friend of being mylike seeing eye person, so we'd have
to be around each other all thetime. Honestly, it was awesome.
But if I here, don't everhear the phrase path of totality again for
another twenty years. Cool with it. We have some incredible pictures from friends

(00:50):
of ours. Though. We hadfriends in Ohio, Indiana, and Texas
that saw some really really cool stuff. They didn't get bombed by the weather.
All I kept thinking about was thoseplaces that, yeah are Our friend
in Texas didn't have a great one. Our friends that went to Indiana,
it was on real By the way, we're going to talk about that coming
up at seven ten this morning, because the only thing better than the solar

(01:10):
eclipse itself was the solar eclips Asexplained by my six and two year old,
those often are the best explanations, really raising some serious scientists, movies,
music, and all the gossip inone place. It's the celebritiescoop on
Star one oh five point seven.Well, Lady Gaga is sparking some serious

(01:30):
engagement rumors after being spotted in Lawearing a large diamond sparkler on that very
important finger. The singer whose upcomingmovie, by the way, Joker,
did officially get rated art routing Ihad a really eye catching, kind of

(01:51):
beautiful oval cut diamond over a goldband. This thing's whopping like her overcoat
didn't even cover now. The Houseof Gucci actress has been dating Parker Group
CEO Michael Polanski since twenty nineteen. However, neither one of them have publicly
said anything about this official possible engagement. Dang, I'm looking at that ring
right now. It's huge. She'sdefinitely like walking with a lean. That

(02:15):
thing's got to be so heavy.Billie Eilish salamming Rolling Stone magazine for leaking
the album track list before she wasready. So she announced to her fans
yesterday her forthcoming third album, It'llBe Card called Hit Me Hard and Soft,
is coming out. She said thiswas a huge celebratory moment and telling

(02:38):
fans she wasn't gonna do singles. She wanted to give everything, all of
the music, all at once tofans. Well. Just a couple hours
later, she took to her Instagramstories writing bleep you guys at Rolling Stone
seriously bleep rolling Stone with a clownemoji. Two separate stories because Rolling Stone

(03:00):
actually published her entire track list, and she said she wasn't prepared for that.
She did not give them permission todo that, and she will not
be doing a whole ton of happywork for them coming soon. Some popularists
looking for a job very quick.Yeah, hardcore finally. Mel Gibson is
talking in a new interview with Esquireabout how Robert Downey Junior is a big

(03:23):
reason he still has any kind ofHollywood clout at all. This new interview,
he gets very very personal and saidone time I got into a bit
of a sticky situation where it kindof ended my career. I was drunk
in the back of a police carand I said some stupid stuff, and
all of a sudden blacklisted. I'mthe poster boy for canceled. But a

(03:44):
couple of years into that alreadyj invitedme to some kind of a ward he
was getting. We always had thiskind of seesaw thing where if he was
on the wagon, I was fallingoff. So I was pretty much nonexistent
in Hollywood at the time, andhe stood up and spoke for me.
He's talking about this two thousand anaward show. Join me unless you are
completely without sin, in which caseyou picked the wrong industry and forgiving my

(04:08):
friend his trespasses, offering him thesame clean slate you have me, and
allowing him to continue his great andongoing contribution to our collective art without shame.
He's hugged the cactus long enough.Yeah. Mel goes out in the
interview to say it was a boldand generous, kind gesture, one I'd
never seen before, and I lovehim for that. You know, whatever

(04:31):
your feelings are on Mel Gibson orRobert Downey Junior for that matter, it
was still pretty cool to see somebodywho's gone through as much as Robert Downey
Junior say, Hey, I've beenwhere he was. What being a Christian
is all about? I'm pretty MUCHLSS. We throwstones at glasshouses. All of
your celeb scoop at West Michigan Stardot com. Good morning to you.
Thanks for hanging out with us onthese Tuesday morning It's Mack and Schmidty and

(04:53):
hopefully got out, had some fun, enjoyed that showing of the eclipse yesterday.
Schmidty was an opportunity for my childrento make fun of me a little
bit. What's the old timey thingor something that is kind of outdated that
you're still using all the time, because I busted out what was a new
item to me yesterday? My kidsgot off the bus. Then they're like
the first stop, so they gotoff at like three forty five, so

(05:15):
that the eclipse is still going on, really cool, and so they get
out and I had built one ofthose viewer boxes that if you didn't have
the glasses, you make it outof a cereal box. Yeah yeah,
well when you do it with thetinfoil and it projects the eclipse onto whatever
you know, your screen is.And I thought it would be cool to
have that even though we had theglasses, so I had built one back

(05:35):
in twenty seventeen. That was howI watched it. And I did this.
My kids get off the bus andthey're over there and I'm like,
hey, you guys want to gocome check this out, and they're like,
Dad, why would we do that? We have the glasses. And
I'm like, I know you havethe glasses. This is a different way
of looking at it. It's reallycool. He's like, I don't goes
now, and I'll just look atit with the glasses. I don't need
to do it in the old schoolway. I'm like, buddy, I

(05:56):
did this for the first time inmy life in twenty seventeen. Oh interesting.
I'm like, I don't know whatyou're talking about here. With this
being old school, this is timelessand I'm not even kidding. Less than
ten minutes later, I am inthe yard and I noticed that this patch
of weeds that was just sort ofleft over from the winners there and I
was like, oh, great, this gives me an opportunity to get something
out that I had just purchased overthe winter. I got one of those

(06:20):
non electric lawnmowers because I have ariding more that I go around on and
then I have these little areas thatI can't get to on it. So
I got this thing actually at aGarad sale. You know what I'm talking
about, Like a push mo.Yeah, just a push mower, just
that the blades's spinning and I goback and forth and I go and I
bust this thing out. I'm allexcited. I'm like, oh, the
first lawnmow of the thing. I'llget over here with my new lawnmower.

(06:41):
And MYA is like, what isthat? Yeah, that one would be
a weird one for me too.Well I go it's I go, it's
a lawnmower, buddy, And hegoes, how does it work? How
do you turn it on? AndI'm like you don't. You just push
it? You go. I'm like, this is the Uh, this is
a timeless lawnmower, buddy. Youdon't need electricity, you don't need gas,
you don't need nothing. And hegoes, Wow, that's really nice.
He goes, so that's like it'dbe like if elon musk catalog more

(07:03):
and I go, no, theopposite. I go, this is this
is like if the flintstones had alsoterrible to you. She looks me dead
in the eye, all curious andgoes, what's the flintstones? And I'm
like, now you're just trying tohurt me. Oh, nobody plays those
old school cartoons anymore. It wasjust like this, a cascade of like,

(07:25):
you are so out of date,Dad, I can't even have a
real conversation with you. Bro.I'm thrilled because my kids are all about
the nineteen sixty nine, nineteen seventyScooby Doos, but you have to buy
them. They are not and youeither have to get the Boomerang channel subscription,
y'all, which is more expensive thanjust buying the season. So heads
up, there's your little hat.But you know old timey thing that made

(07:47):
perfect sense yesterday, and I sawa ton of like bars and patios doing
this, and they couldn't understand whypeople got out their disco balls because when
the soldering lips in a disco ball, it actually projected the lips all around
a room. Harmony Brewing Company hadan epic looking one on their patio.
I had never heard that that waslike a thing you could do during an
eclipse until I saw photos of ityesterday. It's not all over TikTok,

(08:09):
and I was like, oh,what a great idea. I mean,
where are you gonna disco ball intwenty twenty four outside of some sticky bar?
But but I mean, sure, very cool. What is the old
time you're outdated thing you're using?I askeid on Facebook, A man,
everybody's using some old stuff smitty Heidi, though, This is what that gets
me. I have a checkbook anda record player. First off, record

(08:30):
players are like trendy, old school. I would say we just bought a
brand new record player. My checkbook, schmitty, I'm not kidding you,
is eleven years old and has beenused exactly seven times. My last
checkbook is from two thousand and seven. Two thousand and seven. That's impressive,
right, there's still going through thatfirst book at checks. Sometimes I

(08:54):
get a good feel I'm making schmittyon this Tuesday morning with you, and
this is just called so cool schmittybecause I don't what the sport does not
get enough respect. I'm talking aboutfralf frisbee golf, or officially known as
disc golf. Schmidy, you everplayed, Yeah, my husband's a huge
disc golfer. Well, really heloves the frolf. I've only played a
few times. It is a blast, though, and we have one of

(09:16):
the best in the world right herein West Michigan, a Grand Rapids native,
Benjamin Zorn. Over the weekend,Schmeddy became the twenty twenty four collegiate
disc golf singles national champion. Thisis out of every college that competes in
disc golf in the country. He'sthe national champ for Farris State University.

(09:37):
Really cool. He actually shot threeunder par in the final round won this
tournament, and he said it wasprobably the most nervous I've ever been in
my life. I was feeling aton of pressure. I wanted to stay
focused on doing the best I couldfor my team, Ferris and myself.
Farris did great. They want toplay some fourth overall in the tournament,
but they've won national titles into twentyfifteen, twenty seventeen, twenty nineteen.

(10:01):
The women's team won in twenty twentyone, so they've got a very strong
program over there, and now theycan also say they've got a singles national
champion. Congratulations Benjamin Zorn plus asweet name. All right, I've been
here, I know exactly how thismom must have felt. Catherine and Jordan
Norsisien of Farmington Hills, over onthe East Side, had quite the baby

(10:22):
story. On Friday, around fiveam, Jordan was rushing his pregnant wife
to the hospital and realized it's happenedat best way faster than Catherine thought,
so they called nine to one oneto see if they could get a police
escort blow through those red lights getto the hospital on time. Luckily,
the dispatcher convinced Jordan to call anambulance, and thankfully, within just a

(10:46):
few minutes, two Farmington Hills Firefighterparamedics were on the scene. Couple pulled
over, and boy was it goodtiming, because about sixty seconds and two
to three pushes later, the newestmember of the family was born, a
healthy seven pounds three ounces. Checkthem out. Talking with WXYZ, Tim

(11:07):
was was the catcher, you know, and I was basically the umpire behind
him, helping out. She saidit's coming, and I looked and I'm
like, are you okay? Maybe, And she says it's coming right now,
and I look, I'm like,oh, yeah, yeah, it's
coming right now. We got dispatchedat five point fifteen in the morning.
We arrived on scene at five nineteenand the baby came at five twenty one.
It happened so fast, I meanwithin ninety seconds of them showing up.
You know, he was he wasborn. Is so I'm glad to

(11:31):
have capable hands. Yeah, thosecapable hands Sergeant Tim Persaccino and Sergeant Robin
Chevrett, who knew exactly what todo. And as it turns out,
Jordan Dad ran into the pyramidics thevery next day on Saturday, because he
was already scheduled to visit the FarmingtonHills Fire Department for a child car seat
inspection. So they all got tomeet the baby once again and see the

(11:54):
whole family together. I mean thatis awesome. I like how the fire
the firefighters there were still acting likeinfused dads that weren't on hundred, like
they knew what they were doing. But at the same time they was like,
oh, I don't know if thingsare happening here. Oh okay,
right there, Okay, you justneeded to get a quick a quick shot
of the situation. So I'll putthe video up because the family's very very
sweet. West Michigan Star dot Comfeeling good. I always here to put

(12:16):
a smile on your face. Doyou want us again for another round?
Coming up at nine to twenty todayhere on Starck Movies, music and all
the gossip in one place. It'sthe celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point
seven. Well, Morgan Wallin hasmade bail after being arrested following him hurling
a chair off of a rooftop barin Nashville. Had a bit of this

(12:39):
yesterday and apparently this incident was caughton multiple surveillance cameras that investigators are now
looking at. So he was atChief's Bar in downtown Nashville Sunday night when
he threw a chair over the rooftopledge. It fell six stories down to
Broadway by the Way, one ofthe busiest streets in Nashville. Bell and

(13:01):
Copsy witnesses saw the entire thing. In fact, the chair the chair fell
just feet away from officers who werestationed below. Now Morgan has not spoken
about this at all. His attorneysays he is cooperating with authorities. He
is facing three felony counts of recklessendangerment, misdemeanor, disorderly conduct and more.

(13:24):
We're also hearing from a security guardthat worked at Chief's Bar, Michael
Phillips, sat down with TMZ,saying this wasn't anything about an argument or
a misunderstanding. This was a drunkdude out of control. Now they just
say he has been an idiot andjust throw it never than really no argument
or nothing about it, just himbeing drunk. I feel like he wasn't

(13:46):
the right state of mind. Well, fans are less than impressed with it.
This morning, he was getting alot of blowback on this. You
know, it's one of those thingsif you're going to get intoxicated and go
rockstar mode, throw and chares offof buildings and stuff like that. You
know what else is rockstar mode?Mugshots? Mugshots are kind of nineteen seven.
I mean, do we feel likehe's got a bit of a problem

(14:07):
here. This is not the firsttime he has landed in very hot water
for things he has allegedly done becauseof drinking. Actually, this is the
second time that the thing he's doneis on videos. Beyonce's youngest daughter has
apparently already kicked off her music career, because six year old Amazing Roomy Carter

(14:28):
has now been honored as the youngestfemale artist ever featured on the Billboard Hot
one hundred. Of course, Beyonce'sdaughter to this rumor, securing the honor
at six years nine months. Ofcourse, she appeared on Beyonce's song Protector,
part of that new Cowboy Carter album. Her new record topples the previous
record holder, which just happened tobe her older sister Blue Ivy, who

(14:50):
became the youngest female artist on thechart in twenty nineteen when she appeared on
Beyonce's Brownskin Girl at age seventh.I mean, I don't even think it's
close to the point that they haveto be the family with the most accolades
musically in the history of time, because waiting for you, Sir Carter,
haven't made yours. Yeh, mylittle man. Finally, jelly Roll was

(15:13):
part of American Idol's Disney Week inHawaii, which premieres first episode last night
on ABC. Absolutely blown away bythis year's talent. This is really cool.
But he had to say to RyanSeacrest about all of these young singers.
I came here thinking I was gonnabe able to bless a bunch of
young artists, and man, didI end up getting blessed. I think

(15:33):
I come from a place where Ispent so long destroying that now I just
want to build up. Yeah,it was so hard to change my life,
and every one of these kids havea chance right now tonight to change
their life. Didn't you just listento him all day? Oh? One
of those people he's talking about, fifteen year old Tristan Harper. He said,
Tristan has the voice of a manthat's been through a lifetime of pain

(15:54):
and he's only fifteen years old.Jelly Roll goes on to say, I
really believe this kid could be somethingincredibly special. He did Blake Shelton's God's
Country and it's pretty phenomenal. I'llput that video up with your scoop at
West Michigan Star dot com. Goodmorning to you. It's Mack and Schmidty
and yesterday Schmitty of course, thecelestial event that had everybody, millions of

(16:18):
people, especially you know in ourneck of the woods just amped up for
the big eclipse at twenty twenty fourpost eclipse as advertised, cooler or are
you like math? No? Ithought it was incredible. I've never seen
a solar eclipse. I definitely haven'tbeen this close to the you know,
path of totality as they say it. I got some incredible pictures. Friends

(16:38):
of mine went to Ohio and Indianaand it was I mean, there were
a lot of people that got emotionalover it. I mean, if you
watched any of the like ABC orNBC coverage, there were people crying.
I mean, I think it wasjust a very moving, moving thing.
Honestly, the thing that weirded meout was because I remember the eclipse of
twenty seventeen. I was living inuh Lost BAGUS at the time, and

(17:00):
so they had a partial view andit wasn't as amazing as the eclipse that
we had yesterday. And I don'tremember hardly anyone getting as you know,
built up about that eclipse or freakingout like yeah, one one. But
I feel like the path of totalityhit bigger cities this time. We're talking
East coast, You're talking some bigcities in the Midwest. People were stoked,
and I was really excited. Firstoff, shout out to so many

(17:23):
schools that based their programming around thisyesterday. Like my son, we got
an email two weeks ago from hisschool that said, Hey, we're gonna
buy all the kids' glasses. We'regoing to do some special viewing projects.
So I got to the pickup lineyesterday at about three tens. So we
were in the middle of the peakyeah peak clips, and they were all
coming out with their glasses on,and you could tell the teachers had been

(17:45):
like very good about warning them becausethey were all looking at the sidewalk.
They were just so scared to lookup. It's like, Okay, you
have your glasses on, but you'regood. But we get in the car
and my six year old especially wasjust absolutely like radiating energy. I was
so excited about this. We wentover to my friend's place and I put
like held the glasses up to mytwo year old daughter, and she was

(18:07):
kind of more confused than anything else. Right, pitch black too black,
so you don't know what you're lookingat really, And then we get there
and Will was like, mom,did you see the sonar eclips? And
I was like, I did,buddy. Also, it's solar, like
the name for son Yeah, no, I know that. How long have
you looked at it? And Isaid, not very long. I don't
have classes, so I had toborrow, you know, my friends.

(18:30):
He goes Okay. So we're atthe toenail part and I go to the
toenail party goes Moon's making the sunlook like a toenail, mom, and
I was like, actually, that'sa really good description. And so for
the ride back to our house becausewe drove while it was in the middle
of this thing, he was like, Okay, no longer a toenail looks
like a thumb. Okay, ohis moving to the other side toenail again.

(18:55):
And I was like, oh boy, I don't know if I should
save up for science school for youor not, because I do love that
you're describing it in a way thatreally appeals to the masses. But at
the same time, I'm not sureat NASA they'd be like, guys,
we are in toenail totality right now. Honestly though, that is the best
way to describe it. How manypeople have been looking at crescent moons since

(19:17):
we were a child and hearing yourparents go, well, that's God's thumbnail
right there, buddy, that's conail. We really killed it. That's sonar
eclips yesterday. By the way,I wanted to bring up really quick,
if you do have those solar eclipsglasses there's a ton of places that are
taking them for recycling today because thereis another eclipse coming for South America in
a few years, and they willactually send them down to kids that can

(19:37):
view it from there. Honestly, that was the coolest part. My kids
all got the glasses too, andactually I was able to give a pair
to somebody else who worked here whodidn't have anything for it yesterday. How
many people really got to experience thatexactly unbelievable. So we'reby Parker locations.
You can google in t NASA.They'll give you different drop off places if
you want to recycle those and letkids in South America watch it in just
a few years, which is thatreally cool idea? Or I'm going to

(20:00):
save mine for twenty years, Schmidty, twenty forty four, that's the next
time we get to do this wholeshebang. Actually, considering the stuff that
we just moved with, I betI would hold on to them for twenty
years, Smitty. So Salky, just let the steam out of the bag.
It will not pop as long asyou do that. And that's what
we're doing right now, Salty Schmitty. What's going on this week? Man?

(20:22):
You say, steam coming out ofthe bag, and I just I
think they're really tough parts of pottytraining because you're good, that's a visual
we're in it. My almost threeyear old daughter has been doing a really,
really nice job. So we started. We did last week for spring
break where we could just kind oflock it down. But over the weekend
we traveled. We went to FrankenMood for our family trip, and I

(20:44):
knew it was going to be challengingbecause you know, traveling while you're still
not fully there yet. But shedid really, really well. She was
telling us most of the time whenshe had to go. She did a
great job of like holding it.And I was not prepared for our drive
over to Franken Mood because we tookI'm fifty seven, which cuts right across
the state like Oster Greenville. AndI gotta tell you, if you've never
traveled them fifty seven, let metell you what. They don't have rest

(21:07):
eies of any kind, just gavitationsanything. Unless you feel okay walking up
to a stranger's front door that ownsa farm and asking if you can use
their facilities, You've got nothing untilyou get to the other side of the
state. So on the way there, she did fantastic. She didn't peek
for the whole two hours. Onthe way back, we were like twenty
minutes outside of Grand Rapids and She'slike, I go potty, And I

(21:30):
was like, well, we can'tmake her hold that. I mean,
she's doing exactly what she's supposed todo. And let me tell you the
difference between boys and girls. Tryingto get a girl to pee in a
field in the middle of nowhere isno easy task. So I'm standing there,
I've got her pants around her ankles, She's so upset, and I'm
trying to like hold her by theelbows hover her over this field. Chris

(21:52):
is like parked on the side ofthe road. Some big truck rolls by
and slows down, thinking we're havingcar problems, and I'm like, no,
just my daughter's who out trying tomake sure we can get this taken
care of before she pee's or carseat. And so I do think after
this wonderful week underway, we areinvesting in a travel pody Sally so stalky.
Probably a good purchase. But Iwill just say, like, can't

(22:15):
blame your daughter for having some stagefright in that situation. That's a lot
going on for anybody there. However, I will also acknowledge that every boy
out there is going like, man, we got it so easy, because
yeah, youope on the side ofthe road one time, is a boy,
You're like, that's awesome. Inever want to go to the rest
area. Just pull over. Thisis easy. Well aware, moodies,
music and all the gossip in oneplace. It's the celebritiescoop on Star one

(22:41):
oh five point seven. Well evencelebrities. We're getting in on the solar
eclipse yesterday, tons of them sharingpictures and videos to social It included Patrick
Mahomes and his family's thrown on apair of solar eclipse glasses. We saw
Jessica Biale encouraging her followers to getoutside, Jimmy Kimmel and Kiermo joining the

(23:03):
parking lot security guard, a fanfavorite just deciding to play it safe and
stare at the ground altogether. Butboy, leave it to Jimmy Fallon to
go above and beyond. The tonight'sshow host put on a once in a
lifetime performance of Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipseof the Heart during the solar eclipse in
New York and he was joined bynone other than Heart Dodge. Such nothing

(23:45):
that can do total eclipse. Itwas amazing. Of course, Heart was
his musical guest last night, Soif you want to see that entire performance,
I have it up at West MichiganStar dot Com. I saw that
Tyler had been talking about the songand how much streaming increases. Of course

(24:06):
she was talking about it. That'scoming on the table. Steve Burns,
you would know him better as theoriginal host of Blues Clues, expressing his
heartbreak over allegations made in that newdocumentary Quiet on set The Dark Side of
Kids TV. So Burns played Stevefrom nineteen ninety six to two thousand and

(24:26):
two and talked in an interview withToday dot Com saying Nick Junior and Nickelodeon
were so different. We're in NewYork there in LA there's really no overlap
whatsoever between any of those shows andwhat we were doing. But he said,
I don't have any particular insight intoany of it. I'm coming to
it much the same as anyone else. Horror and heartbreak. It's just terrible

(24:48):
to watch it unfold. I don'tknow what else to say other than this
is absolutely heartbreaking and must be sounfathomably painful. Now, a fifth episode
was just released, an additional episodeto that series, getting a lot of
blowback from lots of different members, especially cast members on all that who actually

(25:11):
criticized Dan Schneider for that apology videohe put out after the series started airing.
They said the thing about his interviewas a whole, it's funny if
I could be candid. They saidDan was an actor before all of this.
He brushed off some chops and gaveus a nice performance. Where was
all this apologizing when, like, for instance, Jeanette McCurdy's book came out
very hollow. He knows exactly whathe did and how wrong it was.

(25:34):
I mean, it's so intense. And the gentleman from Blues Clues, Steve,
He's talked about his struggles with mentalhealth over the years and what he's
gone through, and you know,he looked at it from perspective of I
didn't have anything to do with whatthose kids were going through at that time.
It's just hard. Yeah, anentertainment industry. I think it was
also more geared towards I feel sobad I couldn't protect them because I wasn't

(25:56):
even on the same coast, andto have even an inkling that these things
were happening to kids, it wouldhave stepped in. Finally, this is
gonna make you real sad about whateverjob you're going to today. Northwest ten
years old looking to make thirty thousanddollars per TikTok. Yeah, North and
of course her mom, Kim Kardashianactually share a joint TikTok account, which

(26:19):
currently has nineteen point two million followerswith a total of four hundred and eighty
one million likes on their videos, and it has done some very successful things.
North could be set to make aroundthirty grand per video, according to
Influencer Marketing Hub that is also seeingthings generate as high as forty five thousand

(26:45):
again per video. Ken years old, for I mean, like, what
was she going to do on there? In all honesty is gon rock some
some dance moves with Kim, Like, what are you gonna do as it?
Well, she's had this account forlike a year, Okay, so
she's been doing a ton of It'sactually really cute stuff, have hair tutorials
together, they do some of thedance routines. She kind of this is
the one that's been giving us alook into like Kim's life. She's sent

(27:06):
a few videos Kim didn't want peopleto see, like here's my mom without
makeup, Here's how my mom getsdressed in things, but thirty K video.
I just keep it going. Allof your celeb scoop at West Michigan
Star dot com. I'm having afive point seven let's do it, time
to throw down. Battle of theSexes is hopefully going to land you and
your family out at our one ofour favorite spots here in West Michigan,
talking about the Frederick Meyer Gardens andsculpture parts so perfect. If you give

(27:32):
us today's number one answer, we'vegot your passes into the gardens. One
hundred women surveyed. Name a fruitor veggie that is at a barbecue.
You know it's not on this list. I don't feel bad saying it,
but like, man, do Ilove it when somebody does some grilled up
bacon wrapped stuffed halipino schmidty. Oh, Chris makes the best bacon ref stuffed
kalapinos out there. Period. Willdie on that hill. I don't care

(27:55):
if they're covered in bacon. That'sstill technically a vegetable as far as I'm
concerned. The six one, six, eight, one oh five seven.
One hundred women surveyed name a fruitor vegetable at a barbecue and caller seven
you give us that number one answer. You're headed to the Frederick Meyer Gardens
in Sculpture Park with star one ohfive point summer Morning Star. Who's this

(28:17):
is Carrie Jerry? Where are youcoming from today? Callama Zoo. What
did you think of that eclipse yesterday? There? Carrie? Oh, it
was great. I enjoyed. Youneed to watch it with my daughter.
So that was a good time.Awesome. Did you guys have the glasses
and all that stuff? Yeah,we did. Very cool. Well let's
see if we can get you outfor another great time. Go into the
Frederick Meyer Gardens in Sculpture Park.Carry you gotta tell me. One hundred

(28:37):
women were asked to name a fruitor vegetable you're probably gonna see at a
barbecue. What do you think Thetop answer was there, Carrie, watermelon.
You gotta go with watermelon on there. I mean, is a barbecue
even a barbecue without some watermelon sittingon the table someplace? That's the top
answer. Congratulations, excellent, thankyou. Yeah, it was watermelons,

(29:48):
This is a competition that brings thetop ski and snowboard racers from around the
country to compete. And we've gotsome West Michigan representation. Eighty year old
Bill Hall from Grand Rapids, whowas competing in the Gold division race.
He is so excited about this.So Hall said he started skiing when he

(30:11):
was younger, but in his twentieshe joined the army, got married and
started a family. Just not alot of time for a sport that he
really loved. That all changed whenhis wife passed away back in twenty sixteen
and he decided to take skiing backup twenty seventeen. The West Michigan Ski
Club quote took me under their wing, and it's just like a big family.

(30:33):
Hall's been back at it for sixyears, doing pretty well dozens of
nastar racing pins. He has aspot in the top twenty percent of racers
across the country in his age group, and his top speed almost sixty miles
an hour. But if you seeBill, you'll notice him in his cowboy
hat and boots, which is whyhe got the nickname Wild Bill. See,

(30:55):
you're never too old to do somethingyou absolutely love. Sitting down with
Wood TV eight, he gives somuch gratitude to that Ski Club. Well,
the wife passed away, took abig hole, put a big hole
in my life, and the Skiclub really helped me and they still do.
Little things like that can go along way. To fill up the
empty holes. The good Lards hasblessed me so much with so many gifts.

(31:22):
Just take advantage of them. I'mjust thankful. I'm just so thankful
that he lets me do do thisstuff. Does anyone else want to be
best friends with Bill? When he'snot skiing, he also competes in running
races and he absolutely loves to dance. Eighty six years young, unbelievable.
Like Belle, I'm just thinking abouthis doctor when you know he goes in

(31:42):
for his checkers and like, well, how have you been staying active?
Well, I'm doing a lot ofdownhill schimel. Please. He is the
sweetest, sweetest man. I willput this up for you on our instagram

a little bit later into the year, and he thinks he's got the team
to do it. Got caught upwith wood TV eight and he's excited about
this year's squad for them, likethe motivation to continue to grow and get

(32:49):
better is always going to be there. But there's a lot to like him,
and I really like I think ourlineup's gonna be pretty good. I
think there's a lot of aspects toit that are gonna make us a solid
team that are gonna make for sometough outs. And then I've got some
arms that I'm really excited about thatare going to keep us in games.
We're gonna throw strikes and give usa chance to win. You know,
I'm thinking about baseball, and I'mthinking about the food too. Schmitty,
I know he's got Tony Capicelli. He's got his own big beef sandwich there
