(00:02):
Wake up. It gets my daygoing and makes me laugh. It Mac
and Schmitty in the Morning on Starone O five point seven. Good morning,
Schmitty, Oh, good morning,Happy Friday, and happy last day
of school for about half of WestMichigan. Oh for a second, you're
(00:24):
you're right, it is. Itis the last day of school. That's
far more important than what I wasgoing to say, because I feel like
getting older just is recognizing the endof a month and the beginning of a
new month. Because I feel likeevery every time we get to the end
of the month, I want tobe like, oh, could you believe
it's May thirty? It's like talkingabout the weather. It is, I
help myself, but much bigger, yosh, and it's huge. I saw.
(00:47):
So. I have a couple offriends that have kids that are transitioning
into middle school after this year,so there were a lot of celebrations yesterday,
so I know that it's just reallyit's crazy. Also May thirty first,
I'm pretty sure I haven't been aroundfor thousands of years, but if
the earliest school has ever gotten outin my entire life, that's insane to
me. So many kids I knoweven got out of school last week,
(01:11):
Schmittie, Like, it just blowsmy mind because I remember some years not
getting out until like after the tenthof June sometimes. Yeah, so hey,
happy final day of school if that'syou, uh for my kids,
sorry, you got another week togo, and you're gonna enjoy every second.
I've already been battling the whole buteverybody's playing outside because we live in
(01:32):
Rockford, even though my kids don'tgo to school there yet, so they're
done today. My kids still haveanother week, so we're already doing the
That doesn't matter. Jesus wants youin bed by eight pm. You still
are filthy and need a shower beforewe go to bed. Kits. That's
where we're out of my house.Movies, music, and all the gossip
(01:52):
in one place. It's the Celebritiescoopon Star one oh five point seven.
We've talked a lot about the legaldrama going on between Brad Pitt and now
ex wife Angelina Jolie, but we'vealso discussed his estrangement from his kids,
and it just got worse. BradPitt's daughter, Shiloh, wants nothing to
(02:12):
do with him or his last name. So Shiloh Jolie pitt legally just turned
eighteen a few days ago and justfiled paperwork requesting a legal name change,
specifically to drop the pit from herlast name and simply go as Shiloh Jolie.
It's pretty shocking, especially because Bradhas been fairly open about the hardest
(02:36):
part of this entire thing, whichis the fact that he does not have
a relationship with any of these kids. I mean, that seems like an
impossibility for a dad. And atthe same time, there's just got to
be so much underlying stuff there thatpeople don't know about yet. But I'd
imagine at some point one or severalof these kids are going to want to
talk about it. I you wondernineteen year old Zara Jolie also does not
(02:59):
use pitt Is in their last nameeither. It's just really, really sad.
William H. Macy taking a verystrong stance against violence in Hollywood.
He's talking movies, TV, whereverit is. It is having a seriously
negative impact on the world. Theactor sat down with Brett Goldstein for his
Films to Be Buried With podcast andsaid, senseless violence is completely cheapening death
(03:24):
in Hollywood. I think Hollywood isdoing a lot of damage to the world
with our portrayal of violence. It'snot true and it's not a good place
to be lying when it comes toour portrayal of violence. And it used
to be they would say, wewould say, hey, it's violent,
(03:45):
you don't like it. You're shootingthe messenger. We're just reporting the world
as we see it. But that'snot true anymore. He says, it's
going to be too much. There'salways a place for a dramatic death,
he said, but then when youkill like eighteen people in a movie,
it does nothing except make you killeighteen more to keep it that dramatic.
A well timed death works, butjust spilling blood to shock an audience is
(04:11):
not cool. I mean, I'msurprised by this take, honestly by William
H. Macy, only because whathorror movies, action movies. These are
not like fantasy ridiculousness escapes for somepeople that are on par with other forms
of cinema. I mean, tobe fair, Jurassic Park three was not
that gory, so I appreciate youfor that, William H. Macy.
And finally, Sophia Vergara is admitting, oh, she cannot wait to have
(04:34):
plastic surgery in her fifties. TheModern Family actress sat down in a new
interview with Allure, saying, Ifeel like I'm going to do every plastic
surgery that I can do when I'mready. I wish I had more downtime.
I would have done stuff already, but because I'm in front of the
camera, it's not like I cando something and then sit in my house
recuperating for weeks. However, thereis one thing off limits to the actress,
(04:58):
and that is Villers. She toldAllure that it is the go to
treatment among LA's young people, whetherthose are cheek or lip enhancements, but
she said not maybe a great choicefor someone her age at fifty one.
I feel like it's not gonna makeme look younger. It's just gonna make
me look more done. So she'sgonna do all the plastic surgery but still
look very natural. I think yourword for it, because Sophia regard this.
(05:23):
She does not careful. Soshia like, please, please, just you
look so fantastic right now. Justgo very very slow. Have the not
sugarcoated friend tell you whether it's goodor not. Because I hate when I
see Hollywood actresses and suddenly you're like, oh no, I can't even look
at you. I want to laughall off to her. Celeb scoop at
West Michigan Star Doyle sometimes because Iget a good feeling. Well, it's
(05:49):
easier to get feeling good on aFriday, but we're here to pick you
up. It is feeling good onstarlin O fone point seven Mackage spinning with
you. And in fifth grade,I don't think I left a legacy.
I want to the sixth grade.I maybe left some spit wines on the
ceiling, but that's about however, eleven year old Dakin Kramer, he's a
fifth grader in Blue Springs, Missouri. He's got himself a legacy that's gonna
(06:11):
last a while because what this youngman did was pretty dang cool. He
was kind of concerned about some ofhis friends and his peers who owed money
for school meals and had found outthat the debt had actually ballooned over four
thousand dollars for his elementary school. So decided to take action, and he
posted a video last month challenging friendsand family in the broader community he got
(06:31):
to help him pay for that mealdebt his original goal thirty five hundred dollars,
but his message definitely hit home becausehe wound up raising seven three hundred
and seventy dollars, not only fullypaying off his school's lunch debt thanks to
the generosity of his community, butalso setting it up so that kids next
(06:53):
year would also benefit from this.He talked about how he just wanted to
help his school out as a thankyou for his time there, as well
as his teacher, Christy Haley, just sharing how incredible this was with their
local news, thank you for keepingme safe and showing me what it means
to be an immunity. He decidedthat he wanted to leave a legacy here
(07:15):
at Thomas Ultikin, which is whatwe teach our kids. Not about the
amount of money that he raised, which is in itself incredible, but it's
the message that's right. It isthe message, and that message is going
to continue too, because afterwards, when they were awarding Thomas with a certificate
thanking him for his kindness, theyalso let him know that his kindness will
stretch on for a lot longer andinspire others. So you have inspired us.
(07:39):
There will be apply hanging outside ofthe office, So the recipients of
the Legacy Award, Hue, wefeel that it's only fitting that this award
be named after you. We wantto start teaching the fifth graders from day
one next year. You know whatis your legacy going to be? And
hopefully we can continue this kindness firstever annual taking Kramer the first ever Dacon
(08:03):
Kramer Legacy Awards, So that kid'sname and his efforts going to live on
Schmiddy. All right, me,Gordon Smith, this guy is incredible,
volunteering four days a week at theMeals on Wheels in Grand Rapids, and
not to mention donating time to organizationsall across the world. By the way,
he's seventy five. Smith actually choseMeals on Wheels not only because it's
(08:28):
close to his gr home, butthe mission is one very close to his
heart. Over a year, theyhave distributed over two million pounds of food
at just this little pantry. Hetells five seventeen. It fits in need
in the community and it's a greatpart of that, but only a small
part of what Gordon does. Checkthis out. Along with volunteering in West
Michigan, He's gone all around theworld, completed numerous humanitarian missions with organizations
(08:56):
like Global Volunteers and Action against Hunger. He was in Cuba back in November.
He's been to Tanzania working with malnourishedkids. He's been to Ecuador.
He's been to all of the continents. In fact, he believes he's been
to fifty seven countries in all.But he's not done. His goal is
sixty five to spread help as farand as wide as possible. He said,
(09:20):
you know you're filling a need,You're helping the community, and I
will continue to do this as longas I'm able to. I love it.
This has been a great job.I guess you can't really call it
a job when you haven't made acent doing it. It's just fulfilling his
heart. That's really cool. Sowell done, Gordon. I love that
we have people like you and WestMichigan. I mean, spending your golden
(09:41):
years spreading the Golden Rule, essentiallysmitting all over the world, fifty seven
countries. I mean, that's unbelievable. Feeling good comes at you twice today.
I always want to tell about amazingpeople doing incredible things in our world,
because they're all around you. Whenyou're looking for we'll do it again
today nine to twenty right here onstarleinofm points, Movies, music and all
the gossip in w place. It'sthe celebrities gup on Star one oh five
(10:03):
point seven. Well, the bigbreaking news. Late yesterday afternoon, former
President Donald Trump found guilty on allthirty four felony counts of falsifying business records
to cover up hush money payments toStormy Daniels, the jury deliberating for almost
twelve hours before reaching its verdict. Now the former president has a press conference
(10:24):
planned for eleven am this morning.Meanwhile, Hollywood reacting stars like Barbara streisand
taking to X writing convicted felon DonaldTrump, blaming the judge, the jury
in New York for being found guilty. He will never accept accountability for his
crimes, but others like support fromCaitlin Jenner writing, the only verdict that
(10:45):
matters is the vote of we,the people of the USA. On November
fifth, twenty twenty four. Now, of course, we will be waiting
sentencing on that Diddy's ex makeup artistclaims she overheard him abusing former girlfriend Cassie
years before that now viral Hotel Hallwayvideo. We just saw. These are
(11:11):
shocking allegations. Mila Morales is hername. She says she worked for both
Diddy and Cassie for years as theirprimary makeup artist. She joined CNN yesterday
stating she heard the Bad Boy Recordsfounder assaulting his ex even back in two
thousand and ten. Well, Ihave kept this secret for like fourteen years.
(11:33):
I mean the first time I experiencedit was twenty ten and I was
in the hotel room when Puff broke, you know, came in. They
went into the bedroom and shut thedoor, and all I could hear is
screaming and yelling and whatever was goingon in there, I don't know,
But all I could think of wasto grab Cassie's things and start packing it
(11:58):
up and just getting her out tosay safety and bringing her to my house.
Mala recalled. When Cassie came outof that room, she was badly
beaten. Morales claims she had ablack eye, a busted lip, knots
all over her head, but theydidn't go to police out of fear of
Ditty. She said, Puffy isa very powerful person, and honestly,
(12:18):
we were terrified. So it justbrought her to my house and a friend
of mine who happens to be adoctor, treated Cassie to make sure that
she did not have a concussion.Mala just said it was an absolutely horrific
thing to realize and witness on herown. I mean, I'm just conflicted
about stories like this because part ofme just wishes that this friend, who
(12:41):
it sounds like was just trying tobe there for Cassie after all this happened,
and did some really nice things atthat time. But now we're talking
about it as opposed to doing somethingabout it. Back in twenty we keep
hearing they were terrified of his power, Like we already hear these stories of
how difficult it is for abused womento report anyway. Imagine going against puff
(13:01):
Daddy. I mean, this isjust it is a tragic, tragic thing,
and it's disgusting. I honestly don'tthink he gets out of this in
any way, shape or form.I think we're gonna hear more stories like
this continue to come out because thereare power in numbers. It'll be interesting.
I did put that whole interview withher at West Michigan Star dot Com.
(13:22):
Finally, Jennifer Lopez's reunion. Iguess we'll call it that with husband
Ben Affleck came to an abrupt endjust about an hour after they spend time
together. So she was actually atBen's daughter's high school graduation party yesterday afternoon,
which was thrown at his ex wifeJennifer Garner's house. So yeah,
it might be a little awkward there, but Jennifer Garner's been very open about
(13:45):
hoping their relationship will get fixed. They spent about an hour together before j
Loo was spotted spade walking out toher black Cadillac Escalade leaving Ben's rental with
her manager and a distant and didn'tlook super thrilled. It's just another one
of those moments where people are like, this is not a good look,
(14:07):
barely standing an hour with your husband, all right, Smitty, So here's
the question for you when they announcedtheir impending split, Probably do they leave
the greatest love story Never told upon Amazon Prime? Or does that they
have a come down? That's Amazon'scall, and you're probably not gonna do
that. It's so weird. Allof your celebt scoop at West Michigan Star
(14:28):
dot Com Crime Day Morning, Ohit feels so good, Mack and Schmidty
hanging out and I honestly, I'mexcited to hear who you think yours is?
Schmitty? Well, it's I actuallydon't think I have one. It's
what a lot of other people havesaid. But we're talking about celebrity doppel
gangers and who people tell you thatyou look like. Because we just hired
(14:48):
a new person here at iHeartMedia WestMichigan, and he's only been here a
couple of days. Every Thursday wehave our all staff meeting, so our
boss thought it would be perfect tobring this brand new kid, fresh out
of college by the way, upin front of everyone that works here and
introduce him. His name is Charles. He seems super nice. But he
goes up to the front of theroom yesterday and our coworker Mike immediately like
(15:11):
turns to me, and I'm kindof turning to Ali. The three of
us are standing by each other, and Mike goes, oh, my gosh,
I didn't know we hired Jack Harlow. And if you don't recognize the
name, you recognize the song, because I guarantee your kids have been playing
Jack Harlow for months. He didthe halftime show for the Lions Thanksgiving game.
(15:33):
He's huge right now, literally everywhere. And I'm looking at Charles,
who we hired, and I'm like, he is an identical twin to Jack
Harlowe. He's got the same face, the same hair, but like the
preppier version, right like if youbecause otherwise, like you'd have to throw
him in some sweats, you know, some street gear, Jack Carlow.
Like the picture I put up onour Facebook. That's a very preppy looking
(15:54):
Jack Carlo always get like a member'sonly jacket on, and I just thought
that is so great. I loveasking people who they always get as their
celebrity doppelganger. You know who Iget? Yeah, you know who I
get, because it's a ridiculous.I get one of two people. They're
both compliments because they're both better lookingmen than I am. But the first
(16:14):
one is a guy named Alan TUDUITIdo you know who that is? I
do? Okay, So if youdidn't know, he's the guy he's in
a million things. He's always likethe fourth, fifth or sixth character exactly
the best one I can think of. If you watch Dodgeball with Vince Vaughn,
He's the pirate. He's the pirateguy. In that one, but
in so many things I do looka lot like him. But the one
I get that always makes me smileis I get Lance Bass. See,
(16:37):
I think you look a billion timesmore like Alan than Lance Bass. I
don't disagree. I agree with you. But the one that people I think
it's because Lance is more famous, probably than Yahn Tu Duke is or whatever,
and so I take that. I'vehad some people come up with like,
who is it that you look like? And I know it, and
so I'll sheepishly be like, isit Lance Bass from in Sinking? Oh?
(16:57):
Yes? You want to started himtalk and like post herself to him.
He's always responding to fans. Seemslike a super nice dude. And
like I said, I'm the poorman's lands Bass if anything, because he's
a very good you know what, even the poor man's Lance Bass can maybe
work a couple of bar gigs pretendinghe's Lance bass Boy for fun cover bands.
(17:18):
I don't. I don't think Ireally have one. The one I
get a lot and I don't understandbecause she's very brunette. So maybe it's
just the shape of our faces.I've had numerous people tell me Jennifer Love
Hewitt. All right, I'm pullingher up. I know obviously, Jennifer
Love Hewitt. I want to seeif there's a Schmitty reference. I wouldn't
mind aging like Jennifer Love Hewitt. She is looking fantastic. Oh you know
(17:40):
what I mean, I don't care, can I can I give you a
compliment? Definitely more so younger JenniferLove Hewitt than Jennifer Love Hewitt today.
That's what I would say is Ican see it a little more on younger
Jennifer love Hewitt. But yeah,a tough one. I was wrap brain
trying to think of somebody for you. It's I'm just so unique and messy.
It's very that to a Hollywood person, say we got a call someone.
(18:03):
I have an original beauty here,Guys, come in on this one.
Be like that tired look. Shewould be a perfect cast. A
breath of fresh air is what Ibelieve you'd be referred to in Hollywood.
I put this up on our Facebook, and the best part are the people
that are now tagging their friends andthen other listeners that are going in and
changing what people have been told.So Ryan said, people often say I
(18:26):
look like Christopher Reeves. I don'treally see the resemblance. One guy said
I look like Tom Petty and thennobody came in and she was like,
oh my gosh, no way,you look like Matthew Lillard from Scream,
and she's right, yeah, Matthewdoes. He's got Shaggy from Scooby Doo
written all over. Renee gets CarolineRay a lot, which is a good
(18:49):
one because Caroline Ray has not agedsince Sabrina the Teenage Witch. I'm sorry
Cassie's got the winner. Though mybrother looked like post Malone. I'm assuming
it's fourteen tattoos and you guys arebasically twins, and that's true, Cassie.
He needs to be charging for picturesand ride that Doppelganger train as long
as he can. Mac and Schmidtyin the morning on Star one oh five
(19:14):
point seven, it's time spill teatime spill the too Sweetheart. That's right,
we let you spill it every singleFriday. It's tea time here Unstar
winar five point seven, which meansyou send in your juiciest gossip that's like
real, that's really happening in yourlife, none of the celebrity crazy big
story in your life not to you. That is real thing, best part
of tea time. It's never yourdrama. It's always something you know and
(19:37):
are itching to talk about. Andthis email is I'm not laughing at you,
I'm laughing with you. Hey,guys. So, my friend's wife
is what we call Granola. Sheis super healthy, especially with their kids,
totally fine, but her husband hasbeen secretly taking fast food lunches to
(19:59):
the are two kids every Friday allschool year long. She has no idea,
but today she's planning to show upto school to surprise them on their
last day and will most likely catchhim in the act. None of us
are going to warn him, rightpeople are furious. My favorite comment,
(20:22):
because this is exactly what I thoughtright away, is warn him with the
laughing face. And I know exactlywhat you're talking about, Kristen, because
as soon as I heard Granola mom. And I'm not trying to talk negatively
here, I've got plenty of friendsthat are this way as well. You
do not want to face the wrathof a mother who is all in on
(20:45):
the organic lifestyle finding out that youmight be slipping the kids some French fries.
It's gonna be that much worse manyif you find out like she's vegan
or something along those lines, thatmuch worse if it happens to school chicken
nuggies, and I'm talking car it'shappening. Like the last thing we want
is the principal to have to becalling the police on the last day of
school. I think this is interesting. I'm surprised he's gotten away with it
(21:08):
all year. I think it's prettyclutch. Dad. Move. I'll be
honest with you, just you know, respect game, all right, you
know, tip of the cap tothe dad for like doing this with his
kids in secret, in steady forthe entire school year. I feel like
this can't be their only secret though. Shitty, Yeah, this is happening
at school on Fridays. You know, there's some other shenanigans happening with the
(21:29):
There's a lot of people calling thatout. Actually, they're like, dude,
you've been lying to your wife allyear and having your kids lie to
her. That's a bad look.I sound bad. That's little white lie
my kids. I don't know howyou would get away with it, because
my six year old and three yearold would come home covered in barbecue sauce.
You would know right away that wehad some nuggies. It's that or
(21:49):
my kids. There's just no waythey could keep it a secret. They
are just terrible, terrible liars insecret keepers. Yeah, movies, music
and all the gossip in it's thecelebrities group on Star one oh five point
seven. Well, the story wasa pretty big deal. Homeless people have
literally been shuttled out of Edinburgh,Scotland ahead of Taylor Swift's Aras tour stop.
(22:15):
But now a nonprofit is saying sheis not to blame. So here
is the deal. Taylor has afew sets in Edinburgh, She's going to
be playing three nights next week atthe Murrayfields Stadium as part of that international
tour, but the homeless community whowould have previously been given tourist accommodations as
(22:36):
housing, are now being sent completelyout of the city to make way for
the huge influx of people they're expectedto come for this show. So one
nonprofit called Shelter Scotland is pretty upsetabout this, hoping it doesn't set up
precedent ahead of all the city's bigevents. She said, it's already such
a traumatizing moment for those dealing withhomelessness to then be uprooted from jobs,
(22:59):
schools and community to find emergency accommodations. But it's not Taylor's fault. The
director, Alison Watson is speaking out, saying the country's capital should be able
to host such a major event withoutcreating a huge impact on the city's homeless
population. And while there's no beefwith Taylor, Alison says, it's decades
of under investment in social housing andshe's hoping maybe some good will come out
(23:25):
of this and they'll be able tocontinue the conversation of how to help those
find their way out of homelessness, rather than just sending them away for a
few days while the rich and affluentcan enjoy themselves. You know, I
just think that it's interesting Taylor's weekincludes whether or not she should weigh in
on the you know, the conflictbetween Israeli. Yeah, Warren, Yeah,
(23:48):
I was gonna say, And nowshe's blamed for homelessness in Scotland that's
taken place over the course of adecade. I mean, she's just a
lightning rod for these kinds of time. I wouldn't be surprised though, if
we see a massive, massive donationto alters like this from her, so
I'm sure that doesn't sit well withher either. Lenny Cravis is opening up
about his personal life and the factthat he has been entirely celibate for nine
(24:15):
years while on his spiritual journey. That's right, The Music Icon says he
has completely ditched casual flings for almosta decade until he finds the right woman.
He is talking to NBC said itwas a move inspired by his dad
after cheating on his mom. Hetalked about the infidelity speaking in an interview
(24:37):
as well with The Guardian, sayinghis dad ended up living the same lifestyle
and it turned out to be abad move. So after his marriage to
Lisa Bonette fell apart, he beganacting like a player and says it took
him years to take responsibility and shedthat label, and all of this discipline
has led to a nine year streakof celibacy. He says, it's spiritual.
(25:00):
I've become very set in my waysin the way that I live.
I haven't been in a serious relationshipfor nine years, so it's not a
I mean, Maddie, honestly,it's hotter to everybody. I'm just saying,
like I don't know how a manthat wears that many scarves can possibly
years that does not seem to addup the Mathews. I've got the interview
(25:22):
for you at West Michigan Star dotcom and finally, brand new Eminem is
here. We knew, thanks toall of the incredible teases that he is
going to be dropping a new albumthis summer. The very first single off
that upcoming twelfth studio album dropped atmidnight. This is called Houdini, and
boy was I stunned to find outhe sampled the Steve Miller band reach my
(25:52):
background like a cap, just likethat. So I have been deep diving
the internet, and so far Ihave not found a single person, a
single outlet, anyone that has anythingless than absolutely stellar reviews of this song.
Like obviously everyone is saying the oldSlim Shady is back. The music
(26:15):
video came along with it cameos fromPete Davidson, Dre Snoop Dogg is in
this. There's a bunch of partswhere he actually does a side by side
of him like from two thousand andtwo Slim Shady and Him. Now it
is so good not for kids. There's a lot of swearing in it and
of course some very controversial topics, but you wouldn't be eminem otherwise. I
(26:38):
will put the video up for youwith your scoop at West Michigan Star dot
com for this Battle of the Sexiesttime and it is your shot to grab
some friends, hop in the cartoday and get out for an awesome live
music outdoor concert tonight. Yeah it'sHosier. So you saw everybody raving about
his Vanandles show the other night. He is at Pine Nab to night and

old now from preschool. I hadaccident and we did not find that in
the backpack for a couple of days. So that's currently there. Right now
on the deck. Oh wow, you're hopefully it that's not you six one,

Easter candy, anything, from Christmas. That was definitely going in my

(29:12):
school year, but especially to thosethat are done. High school is done
over the next stage of life, adulthood. It sounds really nice. Maybe
you won't find that to be truewhen you get there, guys, but
there's so many rights of passages thatcome along with being a senior. Right,
of course, she got the prom, you got homecoming, all those
things that you've been doing a littlebit. But one thing specific to being
(29:34):
a senior was always senior skip day. Yeah, and I was actually just
talking to my sister's babysitter because Iwas taken over for her while my sister
was gone the other day. Andshe's like, oh, yeah, I'm
a senior at this school. AndI was like, Oh, what did
you do for senior skip day?She looked at me like I was speaking
a different language, smitty. Ohreally likely she had not even considered it
(29:56):
or heard about it. And I'mlike, do you not have senior skip
She's like, well, it's senioryear. A lot of people skip on
different days. But I don't knowwhat you're talking about. I do you
do it? Like, because allthe districts I know still have one.
They do it through the district likethey do it throughout Like I know,
Yeah, I'm just bummed we hadsenior skip day in high school. But
like, is it cool when it'sbuilt into the school calendar. That's what
(30:19):
I was gonna say. My seniorskip day was not allowed, like people
weren't supposed to skip. Oh youknow ours literally like if you checked the
Lansing Catholic School calendar at the beginningof the school year, it literally was
like June second, Senior Skip Day. I was like, well, that
doesn't feel rebellious, I mean notgonna take the day. But it was
(30:40):
always funny because at my high schoolthey would they would tell you, like,
if you have one excused more unexcusedabsences, you're not going to graduate.
So like as we would approach, kids would know whether or not they
were going to take off or seniorskip day. And I we had about
thirty people floating down the Assable Riverat the end of world freezing or butts
off by the way as we weregoing down. I mean, I almost
(31:03):
wish I was in school. Itwas such a miserable day to be floating
down the river. But it wasone of those things where like if you
didn't skip school as a kid, this was your moment of rebellion. Yeah,
that you bring down not for us, no built right in and they
would have weird And they also likeour diplomas would have been held if our
service hours didn't get in. Soit's I guess going to Catholic school was
a little different. I suppose didyou have seen your skip day and what
(31:29):
did you do with it? Becausewe've got everything from incredible like memory making
road trips to people who are likeI just said it home and play video
games. I think I probably sleptin. That's not a bad way to
spend it either. What did youdo with yours? Joined the conversation on
Facebook AT's West Michigan Star. Sometimesdoes that get a good feeling well?

A seventy three year old Vietnam Vethas finally found his forever home with a
loving family. Michael Cloyd lives inMadison, wiscon And he'd been living out
of a motel for months and hishealth was deteriorating, in part due to
multiple falls. So Cloyd was takento a VA hospital near the end of
last year, where he remained foralmost four months, unable to find assisted
(32:15):
living, that is until Blithia Clayand her family opened the doors to their
own home as part of Love,Recovery and Connections. It's an adult family
care facility. This isn't very wellknown. It's not exactly assisted living.
This gives older adults and people withdisabilities a great alternative. They actually live
(32:37):
full time in a house with afamily. They get assistance with daily living,
personal care, even healthcare in collaborationwith healthcare professionals. Bilithia said it
was a dream come true and herand Michael have gotten so close. She
says when he got here, he'sa little more quiet and reserved, but
just a few months later he's awhole new man. He's gained nearly forty
(32:59):
pounds of health healthy weight. He'sexcited. He loves being with the family.
As for Kloyd, he said, everyone is always here when I need
them. It's pretty amazing. Walithiatells WMTV this was not only a dream
come true, but to experience itin person is something she can't fully describe.
I think at the end of theday, we're all just people who
(33:22):
need love, support and accessence. We should treat each other with dignity and
respect, regardless of where we comefrom and our age. To see how
happy Mike is to p that's semester. It's a pretty amazing interview. Belithia
says, no doubt Mike is family. I'll put this interview up at West

I want to tell you about aGrand Rapids couple. It's done something
that's very difficult to do, andthat is to make it till you're seventy
fifth wedding an aversary. Big congratulationsto Grand Rapids Natives Charmaine and Wayne Vickers,
(34:07):
who got married on May twenty seventh, nineteen forty nine, celebrating their
seventy fifth this Memorial Day. Imean, that doesn't happen so often.
The diamond anniversary is so rare thatthe US Census Boro doesn't even have statistics
on it. But let's put itthis way, less than one percent of
(34:27):
married couples actually reached their sixtieth anniversary. Point zero zero one six percent is
how much? So your odds ofthat happening greater than one in one hundred
thousand couples. Is what they've managedto achieve over the seventy five years of
sharing five sons and tons of adventurestogether. They would tell you that the
backbone of a seventy five year marriageis having similar interests, loving travel,
(34:52):
loving animals, reading, of course, their family, being with tons of
friends. And it all started overa love of some cherry coach too Schmidty.
Talking to em Live, Wayne talkedabout how he just had to keep
going back to see that cute ladyat the drug store. I never had
a cherry coke until I hear adrug shot and I started getting them.
(35:14):
Every about every day I go upthere to get in a cherry coke just
to see her. Or very veryblessed because there's not many of our friends
that ever had a subnay Field.I sure I know anybody Filmy marriage is
kind of like timing around and youreach the top, but then you go
(35:36):
down in the valley and you takeGod with you, and you take God
with you. Very cool. Congratulationsand happy seventy fifth wedding anniversary to Grand
Rapids. Very own Charmaine and WayneVickers. I feel like it helps that
your name's rhyme. I think Charmaineand Wayne are the cutest things possible.
