(00:02):
WAKEMP. It gets my day goingand makes me lab I love it,
Mac and Schmitty in the morning onStar one on five point seven, I
got more than Smitty and t GA Happy Friday. Happy Friday to you.
It's felt like a long week.I don't know if it was the
uh added heat that we had sometimesbut or just busyness because it was that
(00:27):
one of the first full weeks ofsummer vacation for my kids. So we
had grandparents camp, basketball camp everysingle day with the grandparents for a bit,
grandparents camp, then basketball camp eachday. My son had playoff baseball
games Monday, Wednesday, and lastnight. Unfortunately the Green Fiers their playoff
(00:47):
run ended last night in the finalfour, so that the season is open.
Oh shoot, that's just so devastatingthat we can't sit out in ninety
five degree weather and watch kids playbaseball. Bittersweet. So it just it's
it's the first weekend where you know, we talked about unscheduled summer break.
It is an almost unscheduled weekend forBetty, so look forward to that.
We had a great time last night. My six year old and I went
out to the Meyer LPGA Classic forsimply give got to test out everything man.
(01:11):
Discoveryland is incredible. Shout out tomy wonderful friends at Wimmy. They've
got a huge display there with abunch of games and stem interactive things to
do. A Jurassic World, theNetflix show for kids is out there.
Everything free from Meyer plus the womengolfers. I mean we got to see
(01:33):
two or three holes in the round. It's just amazing. So honestly,
if you don't have plans yet, think about grabbing some tickets. We took
the shuttle from one of the highschools. Parking is super easy. It's
a blast. I know our friendsat ME ninety three. I'll be out
there today for a big putting contest. But honestly, wonderful, wonderful chance
to treat dad to a really niceweekend with the fans. So Mayer,
(01:53):
Lpgaclassic dot Com, movies, musicand all the gossip in one place.
It's this celebrities group on Star oneoh five point seven. Well, despite
all of the legal drama and divorcesurrounding Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, he
says another marriage and more kids stillon the table, and in fact,
(02:15):
his relationship with nas de Ramon hascompletely changed his world and given him the
comfort he's needed, especially considering theestrangement he's had from his kids. A
friend of Brad's talked to Daily Mail, saying it is really devastating for Brad
that he basically has no relationship withhis kids, but Edis has been a
real source of comfort. It's actuallybrought them closer together, and having more
(02:38):
kids in his life not out ofthe question. Nus Is young. Brad
said he's one hundred percent on boardif she wants to have kids and loves
the idea of building a life withher. Nothing's off the table. Brad
also says that she would be awonderful mother, patient, easygoing and a
great sense of humor. So,despite all the stories we've been doing about
how Rankers things have been going withAngelina, his romantic life as of right
(03:01):
now smooth, sailing and lovely. It's Hollywood, sch Mane. You're a
star bread Pitt, just as Robertde Niro and Alpa Gino. Whether or
not you could have kids well untilyour elderly years, all right, Taylor
Swift fans have spotted what they thinkis yet another easter egg in the form
of what something unstought was a technicalglitch at her most recent show. This
(03:24):
is very interesting and what bands haveto think is that it was all planned
by the mastermind herself. So ofcourse she'll recognize the song off the new
Torture Poet's Department album, and shewas playing this at her most recent show
when all of a sudden, thebig JumboTron behind her went completely black,
and it was like that for afew moments. Fans were very startled,
(03:46):
but it's worth pointing out when thisscream went black, she was singing lyrics
like what if I told you noneof it was accidental? What if I
told you I'm a mastermind? Theswifties flooded the comment on videos that had
surfaced, some thinking Reputation TV iscoming, Others thinking that this is going
to be another show that she'll haveproduced, maybe another leg of a tour.
(04:12):
I don't know. The rumors arewild, but not all fans were
super stoked, including the ones thatpaid more than six hundred and sixty pounds
for VIP seats And we're sitting behinda giant white tent that blocked like fifty
percent of their view of the station. Yeah. And finally, if you're
a late night television fan and loveJimmy Fallon, you'll be excited to know
(04:33):
he has just re signed a contract. Despite all of those pretty harsh,
toxic workplace allegations from just a fewmonths ago, he announced yesterday he's renewed
his deal with NBC through twenty twentyeight in a very cheeky statement, Jimmy
rope. For nearly thirty years,I've brought laughter into the homes of millions
and charmed audiences from the stages ofthirty Rock. It's been a privilege to
(04:56):
be at the helm of the TonightShow, and I'm thrilled to see what
innovation me and the incredible staff willdeliver in the years to come at this
network. No, I'm not changingmy quote tell Mark to change his NBC
Universal Group Chairman Mark Lazarus. Buthe's just celebrated his ten years on the
show, so apparently they think quitea successful thing to go. You know,
play those kindergarten instruments with questlove paysout. That does a really good
(05:17):
bet. All of your celeb scoopat West Michigan Star dot Com sometimes does
get a good feeling she's starting afive point seven. Hopefully the fact that
it's already Friday morning's got a smileon your face. If not, we're
here to pick you up too.Feeling good right now? On starts Mack
and Schmidty with you and as weroll into Father's Day weekend, I thought
(05:39):
this was such a cool story abouta local West Michigan UPS driver who makes
one stop every single day. Andit's not just the person who's obsessed with
Amazon shopping at his route, it'shis dad's house, Schmidty. This is
really cool. Tim Westfall, hemakes his routes with UBS every day and
(05:59):
at lunch he stops and sees hisdad, who's also named Tim Westfall.
Big Tim and Little Tim just likeso many of those juniors that we know
out there. And it's a bigdeal for Big Tim because he's by himself
a lot of the time, seehis wife, and Little Tim's mom passed
away six years ago from cancer, and it was around that time that he
(06:23):
got the opportunity to change his routeand one that he knew he couldn't miss,
so that now these guys can spendtheir days together at least once a
day, as Little Tim explained toFox seventeen. He ain't got nobody to
talk too, so that's the hardpart for me. I get to hear
all his stories. He likes totalk, so I hear all his stories.
And now'e getting older, so Ihear the same stories over and over.
(06:44):
My mom passed away in twenty seventeen, and then this route Camabell in
twenty eighteen, so I took itjust know and I can come here at
Calibi. I don't want to seehim, you know, maybe on the
weekend or maybe other every other weekend. So every single day, Tim Junior
gets to stop at his dad's housea chat, grab some lunch for thirty
minutes or so, and keep hisdad company. And it is moments like
that that make all the difference because, as they say, you know,
(07:08):
a on time delivery is important, but the delivery of time is just a
massive gift. And you can hearthe emotion from Tim Senior as he's talking
about how much this means to him. Happy Father's Day. Thank you for
raising me with morals and hard workethic. Hi, I want to thank
you guys for being no wonderful kids. They're fantastic kids. I'm sorry.
(07:30):
I love them to pieces. They'regood kids. Very best Father's Day gift
you could ever give. Okay,so one hundred years is a pretty big
deal, right, But if you'reRachel Fox in Bloomfield Hills, it's one
hundred and nine that you're celebrating. It was a big birthday party at the
Jewish Senior Life of Metropolitan Detroit inWest Bloomfield the other day when Rachel Fox
(07:55):
turned one hundred and nine years old. I love when we look at this.
Rachel was born in nineteen fifteen, which means she's lived through the polio
epidemic. This Spanish flew and thendecided to beat COVID at the age of
one hundred and four. Tons offriends and family were on scene, as
well as ABC seven, who gotthe best advice from the one hundred and
(08:18):
nine year old. It's wonderful thatthey get. Wonderful they have on all
my good friends here. Wow,that's what you want our life. It's
life is happiness, not sadness.Life is happiness, not sadness. By
the way, when you've lived afull life like that, obviously, one
(08:39):
of the big questions, how doyou make it to one hundred and nine.
Well, Rachel stays busy dancing,Oh so happy Birthday, Rachel Beautiful
Video West Michigan, Star dot Com, Movies, music, and all the
gossip in one place. It's thecelebrities goop on Star one oh five point
seven Ooo. Do not expect Bbexand g Easy to be working together ever
(09:03):
again. Bb, blasting the singeras an ungrateful loser in a sense,
deleted social post so on Bibe's instantstories. She shared a text message that
apparently came from a member of gEazy's team, asking if Biebe had any
interest in shooting social content with himduring an upcoming trip to New York.
(09:24):
Baby responded, tagging Geasy on Instagram, saying you have my number. Why
don't you text me and ask meyourself? You stuck up, ungrateful loser.
You're lucky people are liking you againbecause I could go in on all
the bleeping things you've done and howyou treated me after giving you your only
real hit. By the way,the answer is no. Hope, You're
(09:46):
good. When asked about why shedeleted that post, Bibe didn't hold back.
She said, you know, someonefrom my team had me take it
down because it was very negative andtoxic. Sometimes trauma can lead us to
react that way, and that periodof my life very traumatizing. But she
added, I'm only writing this becauseI do regret taking it down, and
(10:07):
I want to say I stand bywhat I said. Geasy has not appeared
to respond to this yet. Imean, ungrateful loser, not holding back.
I thought you were you know, this sounded really familiar to me,
and then I realized Halsey who shedated Geasy for a while. She's easy
tuned in on Halsey and she foundout minutes before her today's show interviews.
(10:30):
So yeah, you can see us. Some of these ladies aren't working with
g Eazy. All right, thisis incredible alliance fans so thrilled. Remember
I loved, loved that Netflix showQuarterback where we got to see behind the
scenes with Kirk Cousins, Patrick Mahomes, Marcus Mariota. Well, now a
new series called Receiver will be debuting, and none other than Detroit lyons I'm
(10:54):
and Ross Saint Brown will be apart of it. Check out the trailer
that just dropped yesterday. I'm bigon so rations. If I dance,
I needed to go viral. Thelines happening one on a division title in
thirty years and the time is now. It looks so cute. I love
it. Good luck, Madi,Bitchmark is not ones and losses. It's
(11:18):
great nice. Oh, it's goingto be so good. Besides Saint Brown,
we will also see DeVante Adams ofthe Vegas Raiders, George Kittle and
Deebo Samuel of the San Francisco fortynine Ers, and Lions Division rival Minnesota
Vikings. Justin Jefferson will be partof this as well. Receiver debuts on
Netflix coming up July tenth. Youknow what's going to be really cool too,
(11:41):
is you get to see both theforty nine Ers receivers and I'm on
Ross Saint Brown as they all leadinto that Champion Conference. Yes, this
to be the twenty twenty three season, so we were wondering I did this
story. Actually, we spotted afew Netflix cameras at Ford Field and everybody
was hoping that there would be anotherseries coming. Peyton Manning's team is behind
this, so it's going to bereally good. Speaking of NFL stars,
(12:03):
Kansas City Chief star Travis Kelcey lookingto add to his business ventures. He
wants to open a winery even cuteralongside his mom. Donna Kelsey, one
of Travs's friends, is talking tothe Sun saying Travis is always looking to
diversify his portfolio of investments and hewould love to do this in northern Italy.
(12:26):
This sources on his next trip toItaly, Donna will probably go with
him. She dreams of being involvedin the wine industry, and that's why
Travis is pushing ahead with this.He wants to make her happy. He's
been seeking out key players in thewine industry with the view of starting their
own business together. Well, howwould you like to tell your mom that
you bought her a vineyard? Jason, Sorry, you better step up on
(12:48):
the Mother's Day gifts if that happens. All of your celeb scoop at West
Michigan Star dot com. Good morningto you. It's Mack and Schmidty.
And of course, with Father's Daycoming up this weekend, Schmitty, you
can expect some techie gifts. Youcan expect some golf gift probably, and
you can expect them a little strangegifts. We're not doing tech sports nothing,
no fishing gear. None of themwill be gotten for my husband no,
(13:11):
because I think it's really fun.And we started doing this when Will
was probably two or three, andwe go to a store and we let
like the kids pick out what theythink mom or dad would like. It's
just it's so funny to see whatthey think we like through their eyes only.
It took a bit of a turnbecause full disclosure, with the end
(13:33):
of school and summer starting and everythingat work, I did not have a
chance to take my kids out shopping. So put on my phone and I
said, let's do a little onlineshopping. And I don't think he's listening
right now, so hopefully I'm notruining anything. But my husband will be
decked out head to toe in blueygear for a Father's Day T shirts and
stea. We got him a raddad T shirt. We got him a
(13:56):
bandit healer hat, my kids blueand Bingo socks. And if you do
not have the joy of having achild under like the age of ten,
Blue is an Australian show that airson Disney Plus that just about every single
child in the entire world is obsessedwith child child. Almost every parent of
(14:16):
kids I know is obsessed with I'vegot friends that don't have kids that watch
Blue. That's how awesome this showis. My kids have loved it for
a couple of years now, andthey just figure, oh man, you
cannot get better than hooking dad upwith blue stuff. So we're actually headed
up north on Sunday, so he'sgonna get these gifts as soon as we
get to the cottage. And I'mthis close to really setting the full ensemble
(14:37):
because I found blue bathing suit trunks. Oh, I was singing, thought,
you're gonna blue underwear, don't yedo it? No, because you
won't see the undies. But ifyou're gonna be we're gonna be out boating
all next week. We're out onthe lake near Traverse. I want you
to have those big Disney trunks whereeverybody knows you are an excited dad.
(14:58):
That's awesome. Yeah, Like he'sgonna look dad awesome and otherwise ridiculous.
And I think that's perfect for anyfather out there, anyone. Chris will
embrace it. I love my husbandso much. He's so fun, he's
so great with our kids that Iknow as he starts opening these presents,
and I think it'll probably take thefirst two before he realizes they got me.
All bluey stuff and he's gonna beso stoked about it. And I
(15:22):
just thought it would be such afun conversation to hear the funniest thing your
kids have ever gotten their dad.So we have done what you just described
of going to the store to pickout stuff. And for my wife it
always seems to go wind up beingsome sort of like makeup or like sparkly
chapstick or something like that, somethingthat she would never wear herself. But
like the kids are like, oh, this is gonna make it right look
(15:45):
beautiful. For dads, it's different. Like I feel like we've done things,
you know, activity wise, butnot too many gifts. However,
two years ago, Connor did getme a whoope cushion, and I thought
that was pretty on point. ForI was like, all right, buddy,
I'm you know, we're gonna getsome good laughs out of this,
well played. This is a greatget a solid whoopee cushion, because my
(16:06):
kids said it was this cushion oneyear and it was like three sits in
the thing blue. I used thisone for at least a week. But
I will say that I don't thinkthat they make quality whoopy cushions. Anymore.
It's a time honored tradition that reallyhas dropped off pretty dramatically for Dad.
Unless you've got a good site, you know, you want to give
us some last minute whoopy cushion daddeals, hit me up six one six,
four five eight, one oh fiveseven. What is a hysterical gift
(16:30):
you or your kids have gotten adad for Father's Day? Four five eight,
one oh five seven. I justliked it on behalf of all dads.
We got to call out the Whoopecushion industry. You know, the
big wigs at the Whoope cushion factorylives together, corporate execs not offering quality
farts anymore. It's Mack and Schmidtyin the morning on Star one oh five
point seven times into tay time spillthe two sweetheart, Yes, let's do
(16:56):
it. It is Friday's tea timeright now, that moment where we get
a little bit of your's your gossipand are able to kind of keep you
anonymous, figure out what's going onhere, Spitte and I like this one
just in time for Father's Day.Well, it is in time for Father's
Day, and it's kind of thatweird set between do you want to know
what your kids are doing, ifthey're maybe not doing something they should be
versus they love you so much.We got a message that said, hey,
(17:18):
guys, I feel like I haveto tell my buddy this. It
would make his father's day. Ipicked his daughter and mine up from a
party the other night. They'd hada few drinks and my buddy's daughter was
laughing and talking in some language Icould not understand. It turns out her
and her dad made up a secretlanguage when she was little, and it
(17:40):
still comes out, especially when she'shad a few and she's really happy.
I obviously don't want to out theparty thing, but to know she loved
that special bond so much is somethingI would want to know as a dad.
So do I say it? Thereis critical, critical information missing here?
Shit? Yeah? And that informationis how old is the daughter exactly?
Lot of people in the comment sectionpointed that out, like, we
(18:02):
don't know if she's under age,I don't know how old she is.
I think maybe it was more justdo you want to know your daughter was
maybe a bit intoxicated. That's maybealways gonna make it feel a little weird.
It's your buddy, so I couldsee why you wouldn't necessarily maybe want
to do this, but you justdon't have to include that part, do
you Like you could just you couldjust say, hey, your daughter was
speaking some weird thing and then shetold me it was your guis's language from
(18:22):
your kid. Sure, I thinkit's gonna come up, like, why
were you talking to my daughter inher secret language? Yeah, that's probably
fair. The majority of the peoplethat have commented this is on Facebook.
We put up a message have said, despite whatever what was going on,
you have to tell the dad. This is so sweet. I mean,
I just look at April. Yes, it's cute, and hey, she's
(18:44):
being responsible by not driving Brenda, yes, tell him Misty yes, Kristen,
I think he should know his underagedaughter was drinking. We don't know
that she's under age, Kristin, but that she was responsible, and you
can just start the conversation by askingabout the secret language. I just think
you have to know this if youwere a parent and you knew anything from
your kid's childhood had stuck in apositive way like that, because we all
(19:07):
figure our kids are going to bein therapy by twenty five and we've done
an absolutely horrendous job of raising themright, so to know that something that
sweet, that special, especially justbetween a dad and daughter stuck. Yes,
I do think you have to tellhim. You know, it's gonna
be great, though, Schmitty isyou know, let's assume she's not twenty
one yet or whatever, but whenshe is and those two get to drink
(19:29):
together and start talking to the secretlanguage at the same time after a couple
of bevies, Are you kidding me? Everybody else is going to think they're
both trashed. Meanwhile they're just sharinga moment. Smitty, you know,
maybe you have a really great waythat this buddy can bring it up.
Message us on Facebook at West Michiganstart what you're coming in movies, music,
(19:51):
and all the gossip in one place. It's the celebritiescoop on Star one
oh five point seven. All right, Swifties, don't shoot the messenger.
You knew at some point the Arastour would be coming to an end,
and Taylor has put all the rumorsto rest announcing last night at her milestone
one hundredth show in Liverpool. Soa lot of people are like, well,
(20:12):
how are you going to celebrate thatthe one hundredth show and for me,
like the the celebration of the onehundredth show for me, you meetings,
This is the very first time I'veever acknowledged to myself and admitted that
this court is going to end inDecember, like that's it, and that
feels like so far away from now. But then again, it feels like
(20:33):
I've just played our first show onthis tour because you have made this so
much fun for us. That's right, the show will stop. The aras
tour still planned to officially end inDecember. A lot of fans were very
bummed to hear that, but Taylorwent on to say, listen, this
entire tour has become my whole life. I used to have hobbies. I
don't know what those are anymore, because when I'm not on stage, I'm
(20:55):
at home thinking of like interesting acousticmashups that I could surprise you guys with,
and working on albums. And shesaid, but I'm going to celebrate
the entire rest of this show thebest way I know how, and that
is to live in every moment forthe end of the tour, because this
has been the coolest thing I've everdone. I mean, one hundred shows
in one tour is insane? Numbereight in June. Is this gonna be
(21:17):
home at the end the biggest orgrossing tour basically of all time? It's
gotta be right. I think italready is. I think she hit that
record before she went to Asia.Chris Brown had some serious stage malfunction in
his show in Jersey the other night. The R and B singer got stuck
on a wire while he was suspendedin the air, and he did not
(21:41):
look thrilled. This is a pieceof him singing while he's hanging upside down.
I assume he was supposed to belowered back to the stage at some
point. You can actually see ina few TikTok videos he pulls the microphone
away and is literally screaming at Creweoff stage. Eventually, they had to
(22:02):
bring out like one of those bigstep ladders and just physically manually unhook him
from this rope and put him backon the stage. He did not seem
very thrilled. This is a storyI expect to hear, like about Pang
who flies around over top of theaudience and stuff. I didn't think this
is gonna happen at a Chris Brownshow. When we are doing all spider
manning out upside down on the airMan, apparently not spider manning all the
(22:25):
way through, as he got prettystuck. Finally, Selene Dione is continuing
to speak about her seriously terrifying stiffperson syndrome diagnosis, but in this preview
of her upcoming interview with Australia's Sunrise, the hardest part is how terrified her
(22:45):
kids are. I don't have mymom, I don't have my dad.
My kids are scared because they losttheir dad. They're wondering if I'm gonna
die. I don't want to lie. Oh, she doesn't want to lie.
I cannot wait. That's Selene documentarypremieres next week. It is,
though, got to be a justa gut wrenching thing to see your mom
(23:07):
going through something like that, especiallylike her three kids have been through it
all with her. I mean,oh my goodness. I've got some more
from that interview for you West MichiganStar dot Com with your scoop Points seven,
Mac and Schmidti. It's a fighton a Friday and every other weekday
too. Battle of the Sexiest Timeand it is your chance to get to
the mayor LPGA Classic and Blightfield CountryClub. You can go any day this
(23:30):
weekend, and I know you hada great time. Yes we did.
Oh my gosh. When we saylike the golfer and your family will love
it, mom, dad will loveit. Date night, friends night,
but family fun. You go toDiscoveryland, by the way, everything inside
is free. My kid had likean entire dinner in there yesterday. And
it's all for a great cause.Don't forget. This is for simply give.
(23:51):
So when you go and enjoy theseprofessional women golfers, you're also helping
to stockpile food pantries across the state. We would love to give you passes
right now if you got today's numberone answer. One hundred men surveyed name
a company that would sponsor a Father'sDay parade. All right, I'm gonna
do a little different today, schmitty, because I just think these answers are
funny. So, in no particularorder, the top five answers that guys
(24:12):
put on the here love this, home Depot, Vast pro shops for motor
Company, Budweiser, and Gillette.I went very different with this. I
was thinking more Nick Cannon six, one, six, four, five eight,
one oh five seven. If youknow you know callers seven first chance
(24:33):
at today's number one answer. Onehundred men surveyed name a company that would
sponsor a Father's Day parade and youare headed to the Meyer LPGA Classic for
simply give good morning star. Who'sthis Paul? Paul from Portage. Paul,
are you ready for Father's Day onSunday? Sir? I am what
(24:53):
you're hoping for this year? Oh? I did? I had my Father's
Day. I just got back fromEurope over there for five weeks. Holy
heck. Yeah, that's a heckof a trip right there. Very cool,
Paul. Well, let's see ifwe can send you out for some
golf this Father's Day weekend at theMeyer LPGA Classic. Yeah. Tell me.
When a hundred guys were asked,Paul to name a company that might
(25:15):
sponsor a Father's Day parade, Igave you the top answers, in no
particular order. They were Geillette,Fast Pro Shops, Ford Motor Company,
Home Depot, and Budweiser. Thoseare all pretty on the nose for dads.
What do you think the top answeris there? Paul, Go with
the Budweiser. Going with Budweiser. You know, it seems like the Clydesdale's
(25:40):
are always sponsoring something, right,Budweiser's the top answer, Paul D's lazy.
Thank you. Yeah, of courseyou're getting out there for some golf
this weekend and go watch some ofthe top female golfers on the planet compete
at the Meyer LPGA Classic. It'sa great time out there. They've got
all sorts of incredible food offerings anddrinks and stuff kids to do. It's
an absolute blast. So have agreat time out of Bayfield Country Club.
(26:03):
Paul, thank you, all right, we'll do more on Monday. Another
chance to battle and get hooked upwith a great time comes your way.
At eight fifteen. You're on Starlet. A five point seven Happy Father's Day
on Sunday, Paul, starting afive point seven Happy Father's Day to all
my fellow dads out there as weroll into what is supposed to be our
(26:26):
weekend. But do you really evenparticipate in Father's Day dads? Because you
seem like you don't want to tellanybody what you want. You don't want
to tell anybody what you want todo, and it frustrates people, and
it's why you always wind up withties and coffee mugs and stuff like that.
Shman, Well, I don't knowif I've ever bought a tie.
I think I have bought a coffeemug. Golf shirts, oh boy,
(26:48):
I can take out stock in golfshirts. We can't have enough of those.
But do you know why? It'sbecause dads either don't know or refuse
to tell you. That's the simpletruth. This new pole just came out
from you. They asked five hundreddads what they actually wanted for Father's Day.
The number one answer nothing, nota thing, Almost a third of
tracks saying they don't want to exactly. It's disingenuous because if your kids and
(27:14):
your wife do absolutely nothing for you, I don't care how much of a
non materialistic kind of person you are, or you know, if those kind
of sentimental things it hurts in yourcore. See, I don't think that's
how it is. I mean no, I think this is ulterior motive.
I think if you say no,I don't want anything enough times, then
you don't feel bad when you leaveat seven am to go golf until eight
pm that night. That's what itis. You're like laying the groundwork.
(27:37):
Okay, so, but being leftalone is a gift you could ask for.
But you know, saying, hey, I just want to go golfing
on this day, like that's okayto ask because you've already done golfing the
five other days before that. Youknow what, You're hitting right to the
core of a lot of gentlemen lifein aden, right, You're hurting your
feelings a little bit. So Iwent to you, guys, and I
got to tell you. I justwent up on Facebook and asked, since
(27:59):
dads don't want to tell us,what is a great Father's Day gift?
And I did ask dads to specificallybe the ones to answer, but then
I prefaced it and said, looklike dads don't want to answer this,
so you do. By and large, the vast majority of comments are from
women. They're from women telling youwhat they want for Father's Day. But
I love some of these, especiallyMarci SCHMIDI gosh, I can't wait for
(28:19):
my kids to be old enough tomake this one. My son cleaned and
organized the Halder Rode for his dadfor Father's Day. I don't care what
age of life you're at. Thatis a spectacular gift as long as you
don't mess with where dad puts histools. You know, that's actually a
really good one. Last year Willsat down with Chris for like two hours
and they created Will's first tackle boxand then they went and fished together on
(28:44):
Father's Day. Dude, that's that'syeah, that's actually really special. You
just kind of that's and it makesit clean up all of his stupid lures
that are hanging out all over thegarage. You ever stepped on one of
those? Ooh, I've had onehookbie in the hand and the chest and
several of them. I don't thinki've bad before. You know what,
this this was another great one here, Schmidty. My dad's favorite gift of
all time has been the racing experience, being able to do sixteen lamps with
(29:07):
a pro in a race car.I've never seen him smile so big.
I'm sorry, but get my heartpumping. Give me some action, adventure,
adrenaline. That's a great Father's Daygift right there. There seemed to
be a few on this list too, that you can still do because,
like I know, we're on thecrunch time here. There's like two days
until Father's Day, so maybe checkit out. I do like some of
these ones on here, that arefrom dads that just say I've never told
(29:29):
you before and I'm not about tostart now there's dad somedime. Does that
get a good feeling? Well,we are headed into an absolutely beautiful weekend
and you got to do it theright frame of mind. We're here to
help with that feeling good right nowin starleto f on Points seven Mac at
Smitty Withe. Oh, I'm superexcited because I wasn't sure when this was
(29:52):
actually going to become public. SoI volunteer for an incredible organization called Da
Bloge at Saint John's. And whata moment the other day when a scavenger
hunt on the residential grounds revealed thebig surprise that sixteens in their residential treatment
program are headed to Florida and DisneyWorld this summer. Yes, Oh,
(30:18):
it's gonna be so good. Andit's all thanks in big part to one
of their social work interns at dabsjJenna Passfield, said. I took it
all on. I said, I'mgonna find an airbnb, I'm gonna price
out transportation, I'm going to goand do the full nine. It's a
big deal. She tells Fox seventeenjust to take them out of the day
(30:41):
today struggles of juggling the foster caresystem and making sure that they also get
that childhood feeling of relaxing, enjoyment. And there's so much more, you
know, learning and expression that comeswith Disney World too, and it just
gives them, you know, thefreedom to kind of feel and be whoever
they want to be when they're there. Just to show them, you know,
(31:03):
give them hope and you know, show them that someone's there for them
and someone cares about them. Someonecares about them. Oh, this is
an absolute dream for these youths, and there's still some work to be done.
The trip is projected to cost abouttwenty thousand bucks, so the community
is a huge part of this. The group is still working on some fundraising.
(31:25):
If you want to check out moreDABSJ dot org. Holly Anderton is
the director of Program Impact and ResidentialServices at DABSJ. She brings up a
great point, this is an opportunityfor them to say, like, you
not only have earned this, butyou deserve to be able to go on
this trip and have fun and nothave to write an essay about why you
had fun and what you learned.I can't imagine what they're going to say
(31:48):
when they come back from a triplike Disney. I think the outcomes of
this will not even be measurable. And in that way, I think the
impact on the easy youth is goingto be so unbelievable. I'm so excited.
This why it's so well deserved. And again, DABSJ dot org,
there's lots of ways for you tohelp us. I'm sorry. The girl
that helped put this all together isan intern. You said, Schmitty,
(32:10):
give that girl a job, allright? There are so many angels on
earth that work at DABSJ. Thisis just one of the incredible things that
they put together. It's incredible, all right, Schmitty. My story shortsweet
and mind boggling in my opinion, because West Virginia recent high school graduate Riverside
High School there in West Virginia. His name is Wyatt Chestnut and he graduated
(32:32):
schmiddy with a four point two GPA. That's pretty dang impressive. Not as
impressive though, as what else.He graduated with one hundred percent attendance,
not for his senior year, notfor his high school career, for his
entire scholastic career. Stories like thisjust absolutely blow me away. Thirteen consecutive
(32:55):
years of perfect attendance, absolutely unbelievable. Speaking with wchs I Witness News,
he said that you know, peopledon't believe him. Well, now he's
got a certificate from the school districtproving that he had one hundred percent attendance.
He said, a lot of tripsI missed out on, and a
lot of sick days I just restedmy head on a desk instead of in
(33:17):
bed, noting that he's got astrong immune system, so there weren't that
many sick days that he actually poweredthrough and went to school for. Not
to mention, he was a foursports to athlete, busy all the time,
and now he's looking to bring thatsame sense of determination to the professional
Worldschmid he actually wants to be fishinggame board because he loves to be outdoors.
(33:38):
But like, you know, yougot a four point two and perfect
attendance, you are literally any employer'sdream. Smitty me running the DNR,
No kidding, but really cool. Why at Chestnut there? I'll put the
story up for yout West Michigan startdot com. We're always here to tell
