in the sixties and seventy Schmitty Overat john Ball Zoo there lived an elephant
named Zuela, an Indian elephant andhad a trainer named Harry Maxim. Well,

at the end of the day,outside of Zuella's sanctuary there at the
john Ball Zoo, Harry would saygood night to what he called Zuella's baby,
a six hundred pound elephant statue thatmarked the enclosure there. He'd say,

nineteen seventy eight, Maxim fell ill. He had to go away from his
work, and that really impacted Zuellanegatively as well. She really missed him.

According to Maxim's daughter Teresa, Hesaid that the same year the elephant
lost about one thousand pounds after Harrygot sick and Zuela wanta being put down.
Maxim, though, was ranked thereby his elephant's side. Well.
Several years that elephant statue stood atthe John Ball Zoo until nineteen eighty three.
It went up for auction over atthe MWe Grand Plaza and the Young's

family bought it and put it rightout in front of Gowen and it became
like this sort of symbol for theGowen community. It's been there this whole
time in that four thousand person communitykind of looked at like a mascot.
Well, now it's got a brandnew home because just this spring, the
youngs actually contacted three sisters, theCrawls, who owned Charlie's ice Cream shop

there in gow and also a staplein the community, and they decided that
they wanted to restore Charlie and bringit home. This is so cool.
So they have these girls, thesethree sisters who started this business just in
twenty nineteen when they took over Charlie'sice Cream, just as teenagers have now
restored it and brought this treasured pieceof the past back so that everyone can

enjoy this giant elephant now dubbed Charliethe Elephant. This is Abby Crawl talking
to Fox seventeen. But just howcool it is to see this piece of
history come to life, such abeautiful piece of Gowan history, of Grand

the community like that. Speaking ofcool things, it was the Rocket Mortgage
Classic over the weekend in Detroit,which is hopefully going to be a lifelong
memory for a grandfather and his grandson. See Dennis has been going to the
golf play for years, has beenplaying golf with his grandson for years,

but unfortunately this will most likely behis final Rocket Mortgage Classic. He was
recently diagnosed with pulmaniery thrombosis due toasbestos from the car factory he worked in
throughout his life. It is avery sad moment for him, made better
by his grandson. Just this pastweek, I played my last nine holes

of golf, so I've had togive up the game. Yeah, that
was my passion for sixty two years, since I was twelve. I started,
and now I'm enjoying it vicariously.Vicariously through his grandson Paxton. Very
close, very close. Yeah.Almost during the summer I spent probably like

ninety five percent of it at hishouse golfing with him. This is such

facing a very serious lawsuit along withhis former chief of staff Milo Yanapolis.
So according to this lawsuit that wasfiled, Kanye created an app to promote

his rap music, fostering a racistenvironment with brutal work conditions while his wife,
Bianca Sensory, sent X rated contentto staff which was accessible by miners.
The suit also alleges Kanye engaged inforced labor and cruel, inhumane or
degrading treatment. So here is thedeal, just kind of get the gist

of this. This started allegedly thispast spring, when Kanye was launching this
streaming service. He was hoping torival like iHeart and Spotify. The suit
says he avoided paying companies and insteadhired an international developer group comprised of several

colors. And if that's you,be so cautious at the TSA if you
happen to be flying, because we'retalking about this, they have a trip
coming up in a few weeks andhe's really excited because my sister in law
is going with him because she cando all the colors for him. Okay,
because I don't know if this waslike a TSA like pre check thing.
I've never had this happen to me, so he might have been like

traveling in a different way. Buthe was on a trip a few weeks
ago and they walked into the TSA. He walked up to them and apparently
there is a screen before your baggageand it asks you if you are carrying
anything hazardous you need to report,or if everything's fine. The problem is
the TSA agent tells you to clickgreen if you're good, red if you're

not, And instead of asking likehe should have done, he just guessed
and pressed red, and this TSAagent is like immediately he goes, I
knew I did something wrong because theguy's told all. The entire demeanor changed
and he started to look at meand he goes, sir, what is
hazardous in your baggage? And thenmy brother gets super nervous because he realizes

exactly what happened. I had afifty to fifty chance and I hit the
wrong button. Right, and sothen he's all nervous, which makes him
look even more suspicious, and hespent about fifty minutes in the frosted glass
room of security getting completely padded downwith one of these I just just you
know, you might not think aboutthings like that if you happen to be

traveling, or maybe you've got sometrips before the end of summer. But
yeah, make sure that either you'recomfortable with your ability to choose yes or
no, or ask the person foradvice. Because my sister in law's listening
into this, she goes, Iwas so tech Himmel's Missus flight, and
she's like, why didn't you justtell them you couldn't figure out what color

was witch? And he's like,you know how I feel about my color
blindness. It's embarrassing as it is. I can't believe that that's even a
thing to ask somebody, Like itjust feels like a weird concept of like,
hey, is everything okay in thisluggage or are you in trouble?

kind of pre check type of thing. I've never been asked to that.

a green. I couldn't tell forthe life of me, so I just

almost missed as flight because of it. And there's got to be travel nightmare
stories out there, schmindy. Iactually lost my ID and my wallet while
I was home on a trip fromVegas one time, and I had to

go to TSA. My uncle wasa TSA agent, and I called him
and I said, Hey, whatcan I do? And he's like,
you want to do your best tokind of show any type of photo identification,
like you have a passport. Ididn't have a passport, didn't have
my license because I had lost thewallet. So I actually brought my high
school yearbook and my birth certificate schmittedto the air reporting and TSA goes,

I've never seen someone try and usethis before, but you're in here eleven
times. I can conferm it onthis side. They took it. They

million years would I have I don'twant anyone to see my earbook pictures,

who wants to get behind the wheelon road trips and he's really good at
it. He's really good. He'san excellent driver. Okay, Michelle is
not the person who normally gets behindthe wheel on road trips, but she
does. She definitely does her shareof the driving with some of it.
However, it pains me sometimes becausemy pet peeve when I'm the one driving
is that she just over communicates waytoo much. She tells me obvious things

that are literally things that I cansee with my two eyes right in front
of me, like oh, there'sa stompsign coming up. Yeah, I
know it's octagonal red. And ithas been a part of driving my entire
life. Drives me insane, ButI think I have to keep being the
one who drives because I was onthe highway with her yesterday coming back from
Holton Lake and my wife uses theadjustments on the cruise control like their brakes

and accelerator. Oh my god.Anyone who can't properly use cruise control is
I can't drive with them. Igot a fourteen year old car, okay,
Like I'm not rocking some new thingthat's got like adaptive crew or all
that cool stuff on it. WhatI've got is a jeep Cherokee where you
can push the button to increase thespeed of your cruise. You can push
the down button and it will decreasethe speed of your cruise. But that

is not a replacement for your brakeand your gas pedal schmidty, and my
wife was like using it and thenwe'd come up on a car, so
she'd slow it down, and thenthat car would get over into the slow
lane and then she'd use the cruisebutton to speed up past them and go

I don't know for certain that that'sbad for the car, but I'm

sure seems like I'm supposed to dothat, like, and she I didn't
say anything, maybe the first twotimes I felt her do it, and
then the third time I go,hey, hey, please, I don't
think you're supposed to use cruise likethat. And then she did it again,
and then I couldn't even talk.Doesn't say anything. He just leans
over and looks at my dash.Oh yeah, he doesn't say a word.

all in Lansing yesterday. Technically itwas June thirtieth, nineteen seventy nine that
they got married, which means itis forty five years of wedded bliss.
And I just have never seen abetter example of marriage. It's just been
so fortunate and blessed to watch exactlyhow they do what they do. It

hasn't been easy, There's been lotsof you know, peaks and valleys,
as they say, but they havejust remained such a constant part of my
life. They're wonderful parents. They'rewonderful grandparents. And I posted this picture
if you follow me at Schmidt inthe met We got a groom picture yesterday
after dinner. And I just can'tthink of something better to see and show

your love than what has grown fromforty five years. There's now thirteen of
us between me and my three brothers, there's four we're all married, soon
to be married, and three grandkids. I mean thirteen in total. From
two people finding each other and sayingI do I just I can't rave about
it enough. I know not everyonegets the opportunity to see a really strong

marriage, and I've watched it formy entire thirty plus years and they're still
going strong. It's awesome, veryvery cool. So not only a happy
anniversary, but a thank you tomy mom and dad for just showing such
a prime example of faith, oflove, of commitment. It's pretty phenomenal

to watch. I can see whyyou're their favorite. Those are good words
right there. Forty five years.So happy anniversary, you guys. A
couple goals right there for sure.I love that, all right, Jiminny,
this is so cool to see.If you did not hear, the
Transplant House of West Michigan is nowopen. This is really cool. This
is a place where people who haverecently undergone organ transplants can go and stay

so that they can be near medicalservices with out having to break their bank
to do it. And it's allbecause of a couple that shares the journey
of being transplant recipients themselves. TracyGary and his wife Holly Wirland Gary have
been working towards this for years,and this Saturday they got to finally cut
the ribbon on the Transplant House,which will now support those people who went

through similar circumstances like themselves. AsTracy explained, he said, I had
three LVADs, which are left vendricralassistant devices put in, and a heart
transplant. So while I was inthe hospital for a total of five months,
I only got to stay for threenights. The rest I stayed in
hotels. You can imagine how expensivethat can get and how difficult for somebody

(32:42):
who's going through a medical fight likethat to deal with. So that was
the idea that gave birth to theTransplant House. At their reception, to
cut that ribbon and to open itup to everybody. They received an incredible
donation to somebody whose life was impactedso much by a transplant that they made.
Paul Plank has always been a giver, and he donated his own kidney

to his wife, Diana, andso he was so proud to continue Diana's
legacy. He explained the story tothirteen hind your Side. She was diagnosed
with systemic lopus and it destroyed bothkidneys. Twenty five years later, I
donated in my left kidney to herand she lived sixteen years. Oh,

that was probably the greatest feeling I'veever had, the greatest thing I've ever
done. Money has always been atool to me, and this was a
good tool for me. Now I'mgiving them the folks today love giving them
to folks they love. Gave themten thousand dollars to get the transplant out

(33:51):
of a house of West Michigan offto a great start. People can make
donations, of course, as everysixty dollars raised plays for somebody who's in
need for one night over there.It's right there next to the Miracle Mile
shops on your Fuller or Miracle Mileshops next to the Medical Mile over there
on Fuller, Schmidty. But whatan incredible start to something that's there to
give back. Absolutely feeling good comesat you twice to day. I always
