Speaker 1 (00:01):
Wait, wakem.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
It gets my day going. It makes me lab of it.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
Mac and Schmitty in the morning on Star one oh
five point seven. Hey, good morning, Schmitty.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Oh, good morning. Good to be back.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Welcome back. So the up yesterday you guys got back
yesterday Monday, Monday you came back in.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
How was for late Monday night?

Speaker 1 (00:23):
I was just curious because I'm like, oh, last night
sleeping in your own bed, windows open, because it felt
so dang cool and refreshing out there.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
Yes, it was ninety four in the up and nobody
has ac up there, so I felt your pain from
down here because I was super shocked.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
He got that hot.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
But uh, you know, nothing matters if I'm not waking
up at three am. However, good and bad and coming
up at seven ten, we're going to talk about something
that's so important to you you would risk your own
health because I had a very interesting moment over the
weekend where I realized my husband's.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
Level of that. Oh you know, I love it when
you go on trips because you always come back with
some near death experience almost.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
I feel like I'm always loaded up with contents.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
There's been I mean, we've had big cats out on
trails before. We've had beastings with massive reactions. I mean,
we've had quite a few fun ones.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
I can tell you we were able to traverse the
healthcare system of the up.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
So make sure that you are listening because it is
quite quite.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
The story, movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
Well, yet another person talking about how strange things felt
on the set of Nickelodeon shows. Remember this all stems
from that quiet on set documentary. This time it's Kiki
Palmer's mom, remembering the vibe as feeling very, very off.
Sharon recalled her experiences with Dan Schneider, especially in the

(01:55):
latest episode of Kiki's Baby. This is Keky Palmer Podcast.

Speaker 5 (02:00):
My honest opinion is I thought the whole atmosphere of
the dance Snyder said was very weird. It was very cultish.
The parents were very secretive, and I honestly thought they
all took themselves way too seriously. The whole conversation was,
Oh my god, what's happening next? Did you hear they're
going to cancel this show? What's coming next? It was

(02:22):
always so frantic about what was being canceled and always
looked at you at being Nickelodeon is just a wait
at stopping station.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
So Kiki had her own Nickelodeon show called True Jackson
VP from two thousand and eight to twenty eleven, and
her mom went on to say she was just heartbroken
to hear stories like the ones presented in the documentary
and said, because there was that frantic scene where parents
were so involved in making sure their kids shows kept going,
a lot of those predatory behaviors were missed.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
Yeah, I mean, what a highly competitive and awkward thing
to put it in, and then you it's somebody who yes,
seemingly wants to kind of use that opportunity to pray
on kids. Not fun.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
She did say she's never worked with Dan Schneider, who
was not on her show specifically, but worked three others
while they were on the set, and everything just felt
really off. Blake Lively channeling Britney Spears at her movie premiere.
This is a big one. You've probably heard. It ends
with us finally making it to theaters based on Colleen
Hoover's best selling book. While the world premiere in New

(03:28):
York last night, saw Blake wearing Britney's dress and had
the coolest things to say.

Speaker 6 (03:34):
This is Britney's versaucy dress two thousand and two, The
butterfly dress almost dressed meant so much to me.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
Oh my god, my husband's getting soaking wet in the rain.

Speaker 6 (03:43):
It meant so much to me because of what she
meant to me, Like she was just somebody who represented
love and beauty and youth and hard work and determination
and strength, and she was in touch with her sexuality
and her delicacy, and she just sort of represented it all.
And you know, her telling her own story the way
she did and the way she's about to with her biopic.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
It just like, I don't know this. Brittany has just
meant so much to me. Forever. I'm a forever Britney stand,
she said.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
When she found out that the dress was available, she
has had it for more than six months and wanted
to wait to premiere it last night. She said, after this,
it belongs to a Smithsonian Britney, so.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Good, I was gonna say, I actually feel like I
can remember that dress.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
Oh, anyone who's a Britney fan will remember the dress.
Pictures at West Michigan Star dot Com. Finally, I thought
this was really interesting. Drake has apparently so much new
music he's waiting to get fans he has started a
brand new Instagram account to get it out. Yesterday, Drake
directed fans to a newly unveiled at Plot Twist and

(04:45):
featured three brand new songs Housekeeping Nose featuring Lotto, It's
a Real Dance Vibe, plus two more songs co starring
twenty one Savage and Young Thug. This is obviously going
to be a very big deal for Drake, who just
caught off of the big Kendrick Lamar beef. But he
promises fans even more just out of the Sinsta account.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
You know, it seems generally accepted that Kendrick Lamar sort
of destroyed him in this wrap battle, that the two
of them went atch Betty, how do you come out
with new music right afterwards? Is it a weird feeling? Like, hey, guys,
I gotta be but here's something.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
It's weirder when your record company's like, fix this and
make us money, all right, all your celebscoop but West
Michigan Star dot.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Com Sometimes does that get a good feeling? Well looking
to pump a little positivity into this Wednesday morning maka
Schmittie on Stewino foon point seven with feeling good right now.
And it's just amazing to watch West Michiganders always step
up for each other. This is a great example of that.
Morgan Williams she is the co owner of the Coffee
Clubhouse on fifty second Street in Kentwood, right next to

(05:49):
the Bailey's Grove neighborhood there and it's actually the largest
play cafe in the area. She started the business with
her husband as a place for parents to go and
bring their kids and kind of connect the shared experiences.
For example, they do group meetings like single mom meetings
or book clubs or those going through postpartum. She said
to thirteen hunder Side Clubhouse is all about community. It's

(06:12):
about finding people in the same phase of life with you.
A lot of people don't have a village once you have.
Once you become a mom or a dad, you kind
of lose the people that you were once acquainted with closely.
So this is a place to find your village, find
your people, find your support because nobody should ever feel
alone during this important part of your life. What an

(06:32):
awesome mission that is. And someone that it really resonated
with is Megan Danhope who's been going there with her
son since they opened their doors over a year and
a half ago, and she was deeply concerned because she
found out that her favorite place here, the Coffee Clubhouse,
may be going out of business because they were having
a hard time paying their bills. Talking to thirteen n erc.

Speaker 7 (06:54):
Ran a couple of months, it's very expensive to be
here to rent this place every month, thousands of to
rent it them up if we haven't made a cent yet,
and I'm okay with that as long as we can
keep paying our bills.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
Well, that's when Megan decided to take it upon herself,
just as a customer. She sat down, had a hard
conversation with the owners of Coffee Clubhouse that decided she
needed to do something.

Speaker 8 (07:16):
And she said that they don't know if they can
make it through another winter. That was when I knew
that I was called to do something about it. That
would be heartbreaking. I wouldn't have a staple welcome sec
at home anymore in the community. I try to bring
my son here every week when I can. It's hard,

(07:37):
and I know he would be absolutely devastated.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
So taking it upon herself to organize with other customers.
They got a crowdfund going on for this, right, and
how schmidty. They are trying to save the business that
they love so much, to save the community that they've
built together. But I'll put the crowdfunding website up for you,
West Michigan Star dot com.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
All right, real quick.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
Simone Biles joining the Today Show yesterday after her unbelievable
Paris Olympics saying something that has given renewed energy to
a West Michigan organization, and it was.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
This, If not for Blank, I would not be here today.
If not for Blank, who's that person?

Speaker 9 (08:17):
If not for my parents and adoption, I wouldn't be
here today.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
That's so beautiful. That's so beautiful.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
Another organization that thought that was beautiful our very own
Da Blige at Saint John's, a foster home and adoption
agency in West Michigan, who shared an incredible quote from
Simone that said being in foster care is not going
to be your only title holding up one of those
gold medals. They wrote, kids in foster care are so
much more than a case number in the system, and

(08:46):
if anyone knows that it's Olympic hero Simone Files. She
spent several years in foster care with her siblings as
a child, a beautiful example of kinship care as her
grandparents adopted Simone and her sister. Congratulations on your tremendous
achievements in Paris. You showed us the true strength of
self care, and your determination and hard work make us

(09:07):
believe that anything is possible. Thank you for inspiring kids
in foster care and around the world to always keep dreaming.
That legacy is golden. So just a beautiful reminder.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
It really is not where you start but where you finish.

Speaker 4 (09:19):
There beautiful movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
It's the celebrities group on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 3 (09:29):
Former Team USA gymnast Michayla Skinner says she has been
targeted with an onslaught of online hate after Simone Biles
shaded her on social media, claiming her family is now
even receiving death threats. Skinner released a lengthy Instagram video
to address the backlash she's faced after she dropped that

(09:50):
YouTube video talking about this year's women's gymnastics team and
the squad's lack of work ethic. You'll remember this story.
When the five Golden Girls as they call themselves to
came gold in teams, Simone posted a picture saying lack
of talent, lazy Olympic champions, which really spiral things. Mikaela said,

(10:13):
it is out of control.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
I think theold on.

Speaker 10 (10:18):
It's something else entirely when that turns into cyber bullying
or even worse, watching people cheer on the bullying, which
has led to threats of physical harm to me, my husband,
and our daughter is disgusting. So please, at this point,

(10:39):
I am just asking for it to just stop for
the sake of my family, because enough is enough. So
to Simone, I am asking you directly and publicly to
please put a stop to this. Please ask your followers
to stop. You have been an incredible champion for mental

(10:59):
health awareness and a lot of people need your help.

Speaker 3 (11:02):
Now she's changing her tune a bit, saying her initial
comments were very poorly articulated and she didn't mean to
harm or offend the twenty twenty four team. She says
her words were more about the rising generation, not the
gold medal winners in particular.

Speaker 1 (11:16):
Yeah, I mean I think she tried to come out
and backtrack after the fact, before the Olympics all went down,
and then when Simone and the US team won, obviously
that picked the scab and brought it back up again.
I feel bad for her just knowing how the internet works.
This is like blood in the water for these people.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
And remember that YouTube video was like a month or
two old. It was Yeah, it's mean it came back
up because of it. Justin Timberlake's lawyer maybe convinced the
singer was not intoxicated during his DWI arrest. But those
new police documents have officially come out and it's a
little different. So the officer is Michael Arkinson, and according

(11:53):
to his notes, he followed field procedure. He says originally
he observed several signs of a life intoxication, including the
odor of alcohol, glassy eyes, divided attention, in an unsteady foot.
He noted the singer struggle to perform a number of
field sobriety tests. For instance, when Justin was asked to
walk in a straight line and take nine steps with

(12:15):
his heel to be placed directly in front of his toe,
he was then asked to turn and repeat the steps.
He could not do that he turned the wrong way
using just his heel. When asked to raise one foot
off the ground for thirty seconds without moving, he failed
to keep his balance and put one foot down before
the allotted time was up. He also repeated to take

(12:36):
refused to take a breathalyzer, and repeated that refusal three
times before eventually being handcuffed and taken into the station.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
You noticed what song I chose to play underneath you?
Here's Ridder Yes, Oh, it goes around, comes around, it
doesn't it a little bit?

Speaker 3 (12:53):
Finally, Ah, this is so unfortunate because we love him,
but Saturday Night lives Colin jos Well, oh fish, we
believing as the Olympic surfing host, the coverage duties in
Tahiti took quite a toll and the guy. So you'll
remember we had the first issue where he showed some

(13:14):
pretty nasty toe wounds after hitting a coral reef while
out surfing himself. It got worse from there. He then
got a staff infection in his foot from that reef incident,
and woke up with an unrelated ear infection just days ago.
He was checking in joking about the entire process.

Speaker 11 (13:34):
I think the medical staff at this point. They know
my name, They're very familiar with my badge ID number,
they know I'm allergic to penicillin. They started saying we
need to see you every day, which at first I
was like, oh my god, guys, I like you too,
and they were like, no, it's because the infection hasn't improved.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
And it's always fun.

Speaker 11 (13:55):
The emetics here are native French speakers, so it's always
cool when a doctor's explaining what could be going wrong.
But then they have to use Google Translate for the
medical terms.

Speaker 3 (14:05):
Yeah, he had to come home. He's got a lot
going on. So Australian weatherman Luke Bradnam will now be
replacing him.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
Who knew the French Polynesia beat was gonna be so
treachery is Schmitty pretty.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
Much all of your celebscoop but West Michigan.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
Start up come morning too. It's back in. Schmitty is
back from a little getaway there. I'm always happy to
have you back because yay, I don't have to be
in here talking to myself like a crazy person, like normal,
but also because you always come back with just the
most ridiculous stuff that random happens to you.

Speaker 3 (14:34):
Man, I really do and I was up in the
up for the last couple of days, mostly because my
husband was in a huge fishing tournament.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
Oh I didn't know. I thought you were going to
visit the in laws.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
I mean, the in laws are there. Everybody was there,
but like it's the fishing tournament.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
He was there almost all last week with the kids,
but I had to work. I had to go fill
in on my other show, and so I didn't get
to join them until Friday. But then it was kind
of me stepping into like keep an eye on the
kids for the weekend because this is the only fishing
tournament he's gotten to do all summer. Unfortunately, we have
a fishing boat. It's been in the shop since a long,
long time ago. So it was a big deal for

(15:10):
him and he was super stoked. If anyone's familiar with
the up, they were fishing out a d tour, so
they were out on Lake Yuron. He was having a
great time. It was him and two other guys. This
was like a three day tournament. Yeah, and they won
the first time ever. They got first in Lake Trout,
so that was one thousand dollars prize, and then they

(15:31):
got fourth in another kind of fish I don't know
which was four hundred dollars.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
I feel so bad for you right now, Schmid, your
life is about to be fishing tournaments till the end
of time.

Speaker 12 (15:41):
This is you know what, here's the thing.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
If he brings home with that, it's been fishing tournaments
for the last three four years and this dude has
never won.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
Was thrilled for him, But at what cost?

Speaker 3 (15:54):
Because as they're docking the boat on Saturday night before
a day of fishing for Sunday, he goes to hop
off the boat, slips, falls, crashes twelve feet to the
dock and wrecks his shoulder.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
Oh my god, he's lucky, that's all. How was it?
I mean, just real bruised and sore.

Speaker 3 (16:12):
So well, we wouldn't know because he refused to go
to urgent care because, quote, babe, I've never won anything
in my life and I refuse to miss weighan. So
instead we go back to the farm and his mom,
who happens to be she's a retired nurse, like kind
of wraps him up. We went and bought a sling

(16:35):
at the one pharmacy in town, and that's how That's
how he was for two days until we got back
and he finally went into someone yesterday because we have
a physical therapist best friend of ours that was like,
hey man, you probably shouldn't wait any longer, like if
it is tendon damage and things like that, at some
point it is kind of irreversible, and I don't know

(16:56):
if you want to be seventy with an arm that
doesn't work. So I only went in yesterday, and luckily
it's just severe, severe contusions that the doctor did let
him know would take two to three months to heal.
But but it's just the way in you guys. Because

(17:16):
he loves the fishing so much and he was so
excited to be there with his little Chris on the wall,
he decided to put off any kind of medical attention
for seventy two.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
Hours, you know, as a dedicated fisherman should. I'm so
happy for your husband. That's awesome. All I heard right
there is he won the fishing tournament. And you know,
well who else heard about that? The nurse, the doctor,
They got to see pictures. Oh yeah, random guy, that
just pictures.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
You guys. We brought it home.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
The twenty eight pound lake trout is sitting in our
chest freezer as we speak because apparently he's going to
take it to a taxi durmalus, so it'll be hanging
on our living room wall in a constant reminder that
my husband's appendages are not as important as his ability
to cast.

Speaker 1 (18:03):
Will you do the couples tournament with him again this
year and get us like a studio fish? Yes, I
want like a mounted studio travel.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
I think it's next next weekend. I don't know the
big Meskuigan tournament. Ah, that was me last year and
I said never again. Those eight to twelve foot rollers
did not vibe with my tummy and we called one
fish the entire eight hours out there.

Speaker 1 (18:22):
Man, I can't wait for Chris to just quit his
job and dedicate his entire life to fishing tournaments at
all times, because the man's gotta smitty. Just still on
a five point seven macinsmitty with you, and look, if
you're a perfect parent, congratulations, keep it to yourself. The
rest of us are just trying to get by.

Speaker 12 (18:37):
What is this week's So, if you're like me, you've
been watching non stop Olympic coverage and I'm so sad
that gymnastics is officially done because it seemed like that
competition went longer than ever.

Speaker 3 (18:51):
I mean, it was like almost a full week, maybe
week and a half of competition and now watching some
own biles the other night and she is doing her
floor routine and I can't remember what night this was,
but what I do know is that we had sent
the kids downstairs into the movie room where we can
stream shows or movies or whatever, and said, listen, you

(19:12):
haven't had any screen time today, pop down, put something on.
We're just gonna watch this for like an hour before bed.
And they started to stream to the upstairs television just
as Simone begins her floor routine, and I must have
shrieked because my daughter comes running up and I'm desperately

(19:32):
trying to reset the TV so I don't miss anything
because I've been waiting all night for this coverage, right,
And I'm like.

Speaker 2 (19:38):
Ah, you guys streamed to the rock DV.

Speaker 3 (19:40):
And my daughter just looks at me and goes, ohy, mom,
I just want to learn things with Sesame Street.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
I was like, okay, maybe i'd dial it back a bit.
There is such a thing as on demand smity.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
You know who would never yellow Child ever? Oh, big bird,
Big Bird Wood never has.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
A couple episodes where the bird even lost his.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
PAGEI walking loudly does not count as yelling, mate. It's different.

Speaker 4 (20:11):
Movies, music and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 3 (20:19):
Well in an epic show of girlhood and sportsmanship, SI
mobiles and Jordan Child's bowing down to Rebecca Andrage in
a show of Olympic history as Brazil's Olympian one gold
in Monday's floor finals. It went viral and at least
one poor sad weak man had a problem with it,

(20:42):
NFL star Marlon Humphrey posting a SportsCenter picture of the
two bowing down, writing on X this is literally disgusting.

Speaker 2 (20:53):
Not too slow because the.

Speaker 3 (20:56):
Internet quickly came at the defense of Simone, saying get
to you will final and win something, then you can talk. Yeah,
because giving someone their flowers who's come back from three
ACL tears to continue to be a top gymnast is
so disgusting. Good sportsmanships. Some people aren't meant to be Olympians,
and you are clearly one of them. Simone saw all

(21:17):
the drama and said this on today.

Speaker 9 (21:19):
I think it's all about sportsmanship, and we don't care
whether we win or lose. We're always going to keep
a good face and support our competitors because they've worked
just as hard as we have for that moment, so
you have to give them their flowers. And that's exactly
what me and Jordan were doing, and we were so
happy for She deserved it. She had the best Floorertina
that day and of the Olympics, so it's like, yeah,
she deserved it.

Speaker 3 (21:40):
I think my favorite part was the Verified Live account
online reposting the picture and.

Speaker 2 (21:46):
Saying, I think we should probably hang this in the loop.

Speaker 1 (21:48):
I was gonna say. I thought it was a beautiful,
memorable moment that people can look at as what the
Olympics is all about, not something you should be mad about.

Speaker 3 (21:55):
Sabrina Carpenter has reacted to the rumor that she had
to ask permission from best friend Taylor Swift in order
to appear in Kim Kardashian's Skims ad. So back in April,
the singer was burning up your social media feed as
she appeared in a campaign for Skims, but lots of
people questioned Tay was okay with this.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
Of course, a lot.

Speaker 3 (22:17):
Of bad beef between Kim and Taylor, Well, she is
addressing things. In a New Variety interview, she said, well,
Taylor is a rock star. She's just such a gangster
with all of it, no matter what people are saying.
Everything that I've ever seen her tackle, she's done so
with grace. The posts about me having to ask for
her permission, No, She's one of my best friends, best

(22:38):
best friends. We grabbed dinner, we text, we catch up
like you would with your best friend.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
This is totally falls.

Speaker 1 (22:43):
I like it. Anytime someone describes Taylor Swift as a gangster,
That's what I'm here for.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
Smith, specially when you say gangster. I love that. Speaking
of Taylor and not surprising.

Speaker 3 (22:54):
She is dominating this year's MTV Video Music Awards, the
leading nominee, collecting ten nominations, followed close behind by Post
Malone with nine, including a nomination for their collaboration Fortnite,
Sabrina Carpenter, Eminem and Ariana Grande tying for third place

(23:15):
with six nominations, Sizza and Megan Thee Stallion both picking
up five. The BMAS will go down September.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
Tenth at eight.

Speaker 1 (23:24):
It's not an award show without massive amounts of Taylor
Swift nominations the Sounds Rest Taylor Swift.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
All of your celeb scoop at West Michigan Star dot Com.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
Matt and Schmitty ready to throw down at is Battle
of the Sexiest time in your shot to get to
the greatest show on Earth Talking Ringling Brothers at Parnament
Bailey coming to West Michigan this October, SCHMITTI.

Speaker 3 (23:42):
Yeah, the twenty fifth to the twenty seventh, the little
pre Halloween fun. All you need is the number one
answer today's battle question. One hundred women surveyed named someone
famous for their big mouth?

Speaker 1 (23:55):
Someone famous for their big mouth. You can take that,
you know, you could take that metaphorically, could take that literally, Schmidy,
I think literally. And every time I see Pete Davidson,
I feel like he could swallow another person in hole,
Like I just feel like.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
Katie Ledeci too. Watch us swim.

Speaker 3 (24:13):
She can take so much air in that girl is
a fish. You be underwater for like two whole minutes,
I'm pretty sure. Six one, six, four, eight, one, five, seven.
One hundred women surveyed. Name someone famous for their big mouth.

Speaker 2 (24:26):
Call her seven.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
First chance at the number one answer, and you are
headed to the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey's Greatest Show
on Earth with Star one oh five point.

Speaker 1 (24:34):
Seven Corner and Star Who's this?

Speaker 4 (24:37):
Angela?

Speaker 1 (24:38):
And Jelow where are you calling from today? And Jelo.
A hundred women were asked to name someone famous for
having a big mouth? What do you think? Their top
answer was, oh, Steve Harvey?

Speaker 2 (24:52):
You know what?

Speaker 1 (24:52):
That one didn't even pop into my head. But that's
a good guess. But no, Angeley, he's not on the list.
Some of the answers he gets on family do leave
him with his mouth wide open sometimes, so I can
see why you would think that. Thanks Angela, Hi, Star,
who's this? Melissa? I just got a good guess from Angela.

(25:13):
When one hundred women were asked to name someone famous
for having a big mouth, she went with Steve Harvey
family Feud host over there, who's got kind of a
big mouth. But he wasn't even on the list, So
what do you think it is?

Speaker 4 (25:27):
Tyler?

Speaker 1 (25:28):
Steven Tyler of Aerosmith has one of the largest mouths
on any human being I've ever seen. He also, as
he aged, has slowly transformed into a human version of
a cat, and Steven Tyler is the top answer.

Speaker 11 (25:43):
King.

Speaker 1 (25:45):
I'm shocked. I thought with it being women, it was
gonna be Julia Roberts. But Julia Roberts was the number
two answer on their Good Job. Yeah it was. It
was Steven Tyler, followed by Julia Roberts, then another rocker,
Mick Jagger the number three answer, and then Joan Rivers
surrounding out the top four there. But congratulations, you're going

(26:05):
to check out Wringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey with
the greatest show on Earth. You are very welcome, and
we'll do it again tomorrow and I have the chance
to win. Just after eight fifteen, the found the Sex
Year one And to you, it's Mack and Schmidty and
I hope that your summer adventures have left you in
awe of all the amazing things that are around our

(26:25):
state and around our country schmitty. But rest assured there
are some tourist traps, I will say, tourist destinations that
just leave you like, oh.

Speaker 2 (26:34):
Well, okay, that admission was a lot for this.

Speaker 1 (26:37):
I saw it. What are we doing now? There's a
lot of those. And I just got burned on this
where I got a message on Facebook from Michelle's aunts,
who when we were at Michelle's family reunion just a
few weeks back, was telling me she was going out
to Cape Cod for a vacation. They were celebrating their anniversary.
And I used to go out there every single summer,
and so she was asking me about, you know, different

(26:57):
places they should go, and I was talking about Woods
Hole and some things in Boston. And she messages and says, well,
my husband Bill, he really wants to see the Mayflower.
And I'm like, yeah, we did that, It's all right,
And you know, I forgot all about it. So I
get this message from her yesterday that says, hey, thanks
a lot for telling us how terrible Plymouth Rock is. Oh,

(27:18):
and I'm like, she goes, when I said we were
going to the Mayflower, you didn't say anything about Plymouth Rock.
And I'm like, I'm so sorry, because it is the
stupidest tourist destination in America, the place where basically the
Pilgrims first showed up. Is the lamest, most uninspiring thing
you could imagine if in your head as a child,
you imagined Plymouth Rock is this giant thing that a

(27:41):
boat can rest ashore on No, it's like a regular
sized boulder you would see in someone's driveway that they
put in like an eight foot hole in the ground.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
Like forget about Plymouth rocks. I forget that part of
the story entire so ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (27:55):
And She's like, yeah, it was the worst side adventure
that we've done on this whole trip. And I'm like,
I guess I could have warned you. I didn't even
think about it.

Speaker 3 (28:02):
You gotta warn all of you because I feel like
if you head north, especially towards the bridge, oh boy
are there are a lot of tourist destinations, as we'll
call them, and none annoys Chris Moore than c.

Speaker 1 (28:13):
Shell City, Sea Shells Ever.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
Stopped at Seashell City.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
It's technically in Sheboygan, but it's probably fifteen minutes from
the bridge, and as luck would have it, I drove
the two dogs up. When we went to the up,
they had to get out and go potty, and there
was Seashell City and I sent Chris a pictures like
exactly how it should can't stand that pot I put
this up on Facebook.

Speaker 1 (28:36):
There were some spots in there, look at Dutch Village
and Holland taking some stray shots here from Kelly Schmidty
Disney was a few of them on there. The four Corners.
The four corners are where the four states all come together.
And I forget which four it is, but it's like
Nebraska and Wyoming and four states that you never heard
of it. Nobody cares about four states and you're standing
in all four of them at one time. That's one

(28:57):
of those where I get there and I'm like, all right,
I've on it, now what do I do? It just
couldn't be more boring. I'm sorry to tell you that.
Cindy says punksa twenty.

Speaker 3 (29:08):
Well, yeah, if you go any other day than Groundhog Day,
I'm sure it's terrible.

Speaker 1 (29:14):
What is the tourist destination everyone should avoid? This list
is actually pretty great. It's up right now at West
Michigan stock Sometime. Because I get a good feeling. He's
start on a five point seven. Always look at brighton
things up a little bit, feeling good on star.

Speaker 3 (29:30):
I love this because if you're like me, you've been
binging those Olympics NonStop.

Speaker 2 (29:35):
Turns out it could be great for your health.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
There is new research that says watching the Olympics does
everything from boost your self esteem, to lifting your mood,
to even fostering stronger social connections.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
It's also been found.

Speaker 3 (29:52):
To literally impact our brains even when we feel stressed
while watching the athletes, just savoring olympians accomplishments, there's the
release of feel good chemicals. According to another study, it
even combat's loneliness, which can lead to depression, whether you're
watching with friends or not. So there you go, we've
still got about half a week left.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
You keep benjin because it's helping you live longer.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
Honestly, I feel a lot of those things watching the Olympics.
I feel the uptick on it, SCHMIDI. But I also
think that part of it is just the inner shame,
inner insecurity that when you see people in such a
good shape that you're like, heck, gotta run a little.

Speaker 2 (30:30):
Bit more, that makes me want to eat more.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
I don't blame you there either. Speaking of the Olympic SCHMITTI,
a really cool story coming out of the Philippines as
they just had their first ever male gold medal winner
in the country's history. His name is carlos Ulo and
he took home gold in men's gymnastics on both the
vault as well as the floor exercise, and I only
break this up today a really cool your country's first

(30:53):
gold medalist or male gold medalist, I should say. But
what they give him is how hilarious and going viral today.
So he gets some somewhat normal things. He's going to
get a medal of honor from his country. He's also
getting some cash ten million Philippine paysos from the government,
another six million from the House of Representatives. That's about

(31:14):
a quarter million dollars. But check this out. Guy also
gets a free University of education. He's also never gonna
have to worry about eating again because he has been
offered unlimited free buffets. He has been offered unlimited free ramen,
free mac in cheese, a free set of headlights and
fog lambs will be awaiting him upon his arrival home.

(31:35):
Free medical consultation after he turns forty five, free wedding
photographer whenever that big day should happen to come in
this gentleman's life, as well as, of course, an awesome
parade to welcome their first goal. Palli.

Speaker 3 (31:48):
He's just getting endorsements, He's just getting stuff.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
This is all all.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
He also gets his own apartments in Manila, in the Philippines.
I mean they are going all out to just shower
this with everything he's basically going to need to take
care of him for the rest of his life. I
love it.

Speaker 2 (32:04):
I do it for the mac and cheese.

Speaker 1 (32:06):
Feeling good comes at you twice a day. I always
here to point out something awesome going on out there.
Well then it again for tomorrow, six forty five and
nine twenty here on Star Mack and Schmidt in the
morning weekday starting at six am on Star one oh
five point seven
