Speaker 1 (00:03):
Wake wake up.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
It gets my day going, It makes me laugh.
Speaker 1 (00:09):
I love it. Mac and Schmitty in the morning on
Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 3 (00:14):
Well, good morning, Schmitty and a big morning for a
lot of kids that'll have that alarm or mom and
dad waking them up in just about an hour.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
I assume you're thinking about the kids. I'm over here
thinking about all the parents who on a Monday morning
strangely wake it up in such a good mood today.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
Like you know, I gotta say I loved that it
rained all weekend. I felt like it was the best
kind of reset if you're looking at a super crazy
busy week of remembering how to do lunches and make
sure backpacks are good to go and figuring out the
bus route or the carpool. I loved that it was
like every day was just wet and gloomy and you
had a chance to just sit inside.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
And like recoop that is exactly I mean. Recoop is
one thing, prepare is another. Because I know that that's
exactly what my wife was thinking of, is like, Okay,
I got to make sure we have all of these
things for lunches ready to go, all of these back
to school activities and then will you get sports all
mixed into it too? Yeah, I know you said you
already started flag football. That starts for me this week
(01:15):
cross country begins. I mean it just all slams, your
right ago, movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
Okay, So I've been following this drama for you a bit.
Two maybe three major A listers turning down the opportunity
to host this year's Emmy Awards, and now we've got
less than a month to go, but no worries. Friday afternoon,
the news broke and I'm excited about this. The father
son duo of Eugene and Dan Levy well MC. This
(01:47):
year's Emmys that go down on Sunday, September fifteenth. It's
going to remain live on end ABC.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
This is so cool.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
They should a joint statement saying for two Canadians who
won our Emmys in a literal quarantine tent because they
won in twenty twenty during the COVID nineteen pandemic. The
idea of being asked to host this year in an
actual theater was incentive enough. We're thrilled to be able
to raise a glass to this extraordinary season of television
(02:17):
and can't wait to spend the evening with all of you.
This is the first ever father son hosting partners for
the Emmys, and they're only the second duo toast the
Emmys this century. Collin Jost and Michael Shay of SNEL
did it back in twenty eighteen. So it's going to
be brilliant.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
Okay, So two first thoughts this one. Can we just
get them to do the Oscars too? The Oscars can't
find anybody. They might as well just send these guys
who have to do both of them.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
They're good enough. I'm sure they will.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Secondly, how excited are you? These are like your favorite
two who are human beings?
Speaker 2 (02:46):
They really are.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
Like I said, I'm absolutely thrilled. I love everything that
they do. I think the two of them working together
is just the cutest and most wonderful work you ever
see put together.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
I'm super excited. Kasha has shared two.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
Very proud posts of herself on Saturday, stripping it down
for Instagram, after admitting she finally feels comfortable in her
five foot nine frame following years of struggling with an
eating disorder.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
The thirty seven.
Speaker 3 (03:14):
Year old captioned her saucy snaps but dot do dot,
I'm bored of wearing clothes.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
Despite that, she.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
Also gave a big surprise to fans that she has
some involvement in Peacock's upcoming reality show, reuniting Paris Hilton
and Nicole Ritchie in a simple lifestyle show.
Speaker 2 (03:38):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (03:39):
Now, while they're saying this new Simple Life is not
going to be like an exact reboot of the show,
they are really excited for the people that are going
to be a part of this, and keshas one of them.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
What does Kesha have to do with this?
Speaker 2 (03:52):
I'm just trying to be tight with them. She's been
friends with them for a bit. Yeah, are you.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
Gonna play like mediator?
Speaker 3 (03:57):
I'm not sure what it's gonna be, but I'm stoked
that Kesh is involved.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Let's move on though.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
Speaking of Paris Hilton, things got really out of hand
on the set of her new music video, her makeup
trailer Caught Fire.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
Everything is a Total loss.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
Paris was in downtown LA filming the music video for
her new song Badbe Academy. This happened on Friday afternoon,
her trailer caught fire. This thing was stocked with designer clothes,
custom Swarovski outfits, sunglasses, pursus, jewelry, computers, tons of personal items,
everything absolutely destroyed. There was footage that came out over
(04:35):
the weekend. I mean, think God, there was no one inside.
This thing is burnt to a crisp. Paris was on
set when the fire broke out. Luckily no one injured.
La FD has been investigating this. She's still on par
to come out with the music video. It's for her
new song, Infinite Icon, which is due out September sixth.
(04:56):
Big names in this Heidi Klum, Lance Bass, Megan Trainer
going to be in the video, but as of right
now they've got a whole portion of this closed off
as they continue the investigation.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
Do you think when she saw the fire that she
uttered her famous catchphrase.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
This is so hot hot don if you've got Swarovsky
outfits that just went up in flames. No, I'm not
thinking you're looking that way. All of your celebscoop at
West Michigan Star dot.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
Com sometimes does that get.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
A good feeling?
Speaker 4 (05:26):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (05:26):
Well, pickleballing for a purpose. SCHMITTI I'm all about this
starting on five point seven. It's Mack and SCHMITTI with
feeling good right now, Bring a little positivity to your
Monday morning and bring in some positivity and some well
needed funds. Is what this group of pickleballers is doing
right here in West Michigan and Grand Rapids. Four friends
teaming up to get a brand new world record. Talking
(05:48):
about Brad Havercamp, Julia Andersma, Sydney Sunday and Caleb Dang.
The four of them attempting to break the Guinness World
Record for the longest marathon on playing pickle ball for doubles. Ever,
it's currently held by a group from Montana for playing
for twenty seven hours and five minutes straight. The group
(06:10):
in Grand Rapids is planning to play for thirty hours straight.
And no, they're not just doing this for their insane
love of pickleball. The event is called Paddles for a
Purpose because the group's also raising money for the charity
Gift of Life Michigan. We have talked about many times.
It's for its organ, eye and tissue donation here in Michigan.
The players chose this charity because a fellow pickleball player
(06:32):
that they're very close with is currently in need of
a kidney transplant. So talking to Wood TV Julie Andersma
as well as Brad Habercamp, just talking about how West
Michigan pickleball always comes together for its own and that this.
Speaker 5 (06:45):
Just felt right, Like having a Guinness record is cool,
but then actually raising money for charity for somebody we
know makes it have a purpose, and so I think
when we get tired, that'll probably be what keeps us going.
Speaker 6 (06:57):
We love pickleball in West Michigan, but we're also really
philanthropic giving community, and so everything about this feels good
and feels very much West Michigan.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
It's going to go down on November twenty third at
the All In Pickleball Gym, totally free and open to
the public. If you want to go in cheer on
the players, we'll put it up West Michigan Star dot com.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
All Right.
Speaker 3 (07:14):
Stuntman and stand up comic Stevo, which at least my
nineties and early two thousands friends will remember, had quite
the big show Friday night in Kalamazoo. He was at
the Kalamazoo State Theater, but it's where he decided to
spend the night post show that has gone viral, in fact,
with none other than Kalamazoo Public Safety. That's right, Katips said,
(07:38):
him and his film team arrived at Station two around
three fifteen in the morning and desired a very different
wake up call. At seven point thirty. Listen to this
the moment katips firefighters sneak into where he is sleeping
in one of the bays and shoot him with a
fire hose.
Speaker 6 (08:05):
I just sleep not so good. Yeah, you already showered.
That's good.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
It's an incredible video.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
But what's really cool is how thankful KDPS was the
department said Stevo and his crew spent tons of time
at the station, taking photos, even had breakfast with the team.
Chief David Boyson said, it's not every day we get
to host someone like Steve O.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
And he made a genuine.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
Connection with our crew, showing a real interest in what
we do. And we're just so incredibly thankful for the
opportunity to showcase both our department and our city.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
STEVEO has probably been afraid to go to sleep just
about anywhere for at least what twenty five years now.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
Our hose is pretty rough.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
I did share the KDPS video to our Facebook at
West Michigan, Star Movies, music and all the gossip in
one place.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
It's the celebrities goop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
Well this is pretty wild.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
Singer bb Rexa says she was discriminated against at a
German airport, telling fans she wasn't even allown through security
in what she's calling a hate crime. The singer songwriter
sharing videos of her literally sobbing at Munich International Airport.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
This is crazy to listen to.
Speaker 4 (09:28):
It's a supervisor of the plan so threatening me.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
She seems really scared in the video. Bibe says that
she spoke Albanian to one of the airport's security guards
because she thought he had spoken Albanian to her, a
move she says, led to a very tense confrontation with
airport staff. She then wrote on her Insta stories, I
believe this to be a because I am Albanian. He
would not let me take his name. He continued to
(10:04):
mentally abuse me to make me feel like he was
more powerful. Not one of the women at Luftanza stepped
in or said something. He wouldn't give his full name,
and I just found out he works for ATSG, a
service company Document Control, hired by Luftanza. She eventually didn't
even make the flight. A rep for the airlines said
(10:25):
they are now in direct contact with bab to get
the full story, adding the airline connects people all over
the world and diversity and equal opportunity are core values
to the company. They do not tolerate any sort of
discriminatory behavior and are thoroughly investigating. But you are when
she puts you on blasts like that.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
Are Germans and Albanians not getting along? Am I not
aware of some sort of cultural difference that makes this
make sense to me?
Speaker 2 (10:51):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
I'll tell you I flew into the Munich International Airport
on our honeymoon, and I mean just Germans in general
are just a very serious people, different kind of vibe,
and it's yeah, when you go through that airport security,
it's a little terrifying. There could be a huge reunion
in the works for Drake Bell and Josh Pack. The
Drake and Josh stars may actually be teaming up for
(11:13):
a reboot, so this is very cool. Drake talked in
a new interview with The Patriot News, saying the two
have officially spoken about working together again, though he says
it'd be more of a buddy comedy than the original
family Ensemble program. He'd probably want to play new versions
of Drake and Josh, adding he's not even sure if
Miranda Cosgrove, who played their little sister, would be signing on.
(11:36):
Of course, we heard a lot about his days on
Drake and Josh in that shocking documentary Quiet on Set,
but he said working with Peck is a huge step
forward since the two haven't always had the best relationship.
He revealed Peck reached out to him personally after seeing
the doc and the two are inching closer to working
together again and mending their relationship, which I think is
(11:57):
really great news.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
I think even fair ends of their show originally and
fans now maybe after watching that documentary, would just like
to see him even sit down and have some conversations
together podcast.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
Yeah, finally, you thought the Olympics were a high pressure situation.
Oh imagine walking into Soldier Field wearing a Green Bay jacket.
That's exactly what Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles did over
the weekend, and NFL fans were less than impressed. So
remember biles husband Jonathan Owens played for Green Bay last
(12:34):
season and then he was traded to the Bears in
the off season. If you're not aware, that is a
huge rivalry for us. She strolled into his preseason game
on Saturday wearing a customized jacket with his picture around
it and then giant Green Bay Packer sleeves. You should
see the internet's reaction, Dave tweeting, with all due respect,
(12:58):
mo Biles got to throw that jacket in trash.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
How they even let her in with that? Not cool?
Speaker 3 (13:04):
She has a Green Bay jacket, lmao, and then Nicole
saying Jonathan might need to have a little chat with
Simone about team loyalty. Wearing a packer's jacket at a
Bear's game is just playing cold. Here's my take on
it as a Bear's fan. I appreciate that it is
a customy jacket and it's really cool with his picture
all over it in different fabulous plays that she you
(13:26):
just have to cover the Green Bay part with the sea, Honey.
That's all you needed to do because you knew you
were going to get some trash talked when you walked
in with that.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
What I want to know is if this will continue,
will she be rooting for her husband while simultaneously maintaining
some sort of Green Bay elitiance.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
When you see the video she got booed walking in
We're not Friendly. All of your celeb scoop at West
Michigan Star dot com.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
A beautiful day. It starts a brand new school year
for so many kids across West Michigan go back to
school today and throughout the next couple of weeks. Here
and you're talking about the things you know your kids
are going to remember on this first day of school,
the thing they're going to talk about from their summer break, right.
Speaker 2 (14:07):
And maybe I have a good chance.
Speaker 3 (14:09):
My son doesn't go back till next week, so I've
got an entire week to hopefully change this up. Because
we had such a cool day planned yesterday. We actually
pulled an audible like you talked about last week, changing
up your family vacation. We woke up, we knew it
was going to be another rainy day and there wasn't
going to be much to do outside. So it was
like nine to thirty, ten o'clock, and I said, let's
go to the movies. My kids have never been to
(14:31):
a movie theater. They were both COVID kids. Yeah, and
so everything was just kind of closed and then it
got busy, so I'm like despicable me for is out.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
The kids have a dinasy.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
It's so good.
Speaker 3 (14:41):
It's so good, and I thought, let's go to celebration.
We'll have a great time. And they did, like they
were blown away. There was a screen that big the
reclining seats. They just lost their minds. We got some
snacks that they delivered to the seats. Will thought that
was the best.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
I did think that's the best.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
Yeah, And we had like the best part that the
like trays swiveled for you.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
Just the greatest morning. It was so cool.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
There's nothing cooler than the movies. When you're a little kid,
those first times are unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
Well, that got totally ruined because we got we got
outside and my car is dead. And I was super
super disappointed. Yes, my super is dead. She would turn
on and then she would turn off. So I'm like, well,
I don't think it's the battery because all the electronics
are working. Fine, I can still like turn the battery on,
windows up and down. Yeah, but it just wasn't. She
(15:31):
wasn't going and I'm like ugh. I call Chris and
he's like, well you.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
Know, what do you what do you think about it?
And I'm like, what do you think?
Speaker 3 (15:39):
What do I I don't want to think about cars,
I said, I'm holding it up to the engine.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
I'm attempting to turn it on. Here's what it sounds like.
What to do?
Speaker 3 (15:47):
And so he's like, okay, well, we had talked about,
you know, taking it in for its tune up.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
Anyway, we have free towing with our insurance. Call a
tow truck.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
Just have it taken to our great friend Andy and
he'll take a look at it.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
He goes, because I don't know.
Speaker 3 (15:59):
Maybe it's your alternator, maybe it's something as simple as
a battery, but I can't really tell. So we're sitting
there in the angled parking spots in the front of
celebration because when I got there there were like two
people there. Now there's a million because it's after church.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
Those are the coveted parking sp well.
Speaker 2 (16:14):
But they're the worst ones to get a tow truck
in there.
Speaker 1 (16:16):
Ok.
Speaker 3 (16:17):
I'm thinking like, oh no, So I call the tow
truck and I'm sitting there, the kids are in their car.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
Seats, and well, I was like, what's going on?
Speaker 4 (16:25):
Mom?
Speaker 3 (16:25):
I said, it's all right, guys, my car's just not starting.
It's probably a simple fix, but we're not going to
be able to get the car out of here. I
have to call a tow truck and then they just
start freaking out. Sofia's doing something and here Will go.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
Sophia, be quiet. We're gonna have to.
Speaker 3 (16:39):
Spend the night here. I'm like, we're not spending the
night in the car in the parking lot. That's not
what's happening. And it was about an I mean it
was about an hour hour and a half and Hans
and towing they were wonderful. Dorian was so great because
he pulls up and he goes, well, this is going
to be interesting, and I was.
Speaker 2 (16:57):
Like, I know, I've picked like the worst spot.
Speaker 3 (17:00):
And then they're putting it up on the little tow
truck ramp and Will goes, well, there goes our car forever.
I'm like, again, this is not and we get done
and it's fine. It's at the you know, mechanic, and
Chris brings us home and I'm sitting there like, man,
that was such a memorable Sunday, Like the movies were
(17:20):
so cool, the snacks and I guarantee when he goes
back to school next week and his teacher goes, what
happened to you over summer, he's gonna tell her he
spent the night in his broken car before being hauled
away by a stranger. I guarantee that's gonna be the
only thing he remembers from summer vacation.
Speaker 1 (17:35):
Honestly, that's more entertaining than just saying you went to
a movie. You know you saw to spickle me. Being four,
there's probably half the kids in that class I saw
the movie. How many of them got to have an
adventure with their mom's car falling apart?
Speaker 3 (17:46):
Well, and I'm sure none of them would get a
call from CPS hearing something like a stranger hauled us away?
Speaker 2 (17:51):
Six one six four five eight one oh five seven.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
What do you think will be your kid's most memorable
moment from summer? When they're asked that question, what'd you
do this summer? How are they going to answer? Because
if you've got a kid like mine, it's gonna be
the most recent thing.
Speaker 1 (18:06):
You know where you screwed that up? You didn't end
it by just walking right back into Coldstone right there
next to the movie theater. And then be like, oh yeah, yeah,
watch this brand new way to eat ice cream and
make ice cream. That's what they would have remembered. That's good, Hites.
There's important news and then there's this news. It is
this week's very best deadbite.
Speaker 3 (18:27):
A New Zealand food bank unknowingly distributed potentially lethal amounts
of meth rapt as candy. Oh my gosh. Apparently it
came from some kind of donation. They've had to contact
more than four hundred people to track down parcels that
had this Senemum were.
Speaker 1 (18:45):
The kids who had it? Where they bouncing off the walls?
I'm sorry I had to passenger removed from flight for
not placing three thousand dollars Louis Vitan bag on the floor. Yeah,
Chinese woman kicked off for flight because the tenants made
her put her bag under the seat and she would
not do it.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
We're at the ticket loss. Maybe worth the no fly list,
Probably not.
Speaker 1 (19:07):
Good Bye.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
A bride and groom decided to have an owl as
the ring bearer. In not shocking updates, the bird flew
off with the couple's wedding rings.
Speaker 1 (19:17):
Who could have seen that gummy schmidtyd Bye Atlanta hospital
loses chunk of man's skull, charges him for replacement. You
know that part when you finish doing a puzzle and
you get all the way done and then there's just
one piece that's missy gross.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
All right, I kind of get it. A fifty seven
year old Australian man set his car on fire to
kill a spider. Yeah, emergency services responded, did the investigation,
and then we're like, was this really for a spider?
Speaker 4 (19:46):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (19:47):
Absolutely, yep, seems legite.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
SCHMD. A woman tries to run over boyfriend with car
while on the way to couples therapy.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
Yeah, I mean that brings up a lot of baggage.
Speaker 1 (19:58):
You know what. They've got plenty to tell talk about
still working on things. That's this week's best headlines. You
see any great ones out there? Sentamar away at West Michigan, Star.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
Movies, Music and all the gossip.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
In one place. It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh
five point seven. Well.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
Taylor Swift continued her massive weekend in London with sold
out shows at Wembley Stadium looking like quite to the
family Affair. One of her big openers, Sukie Waterhouse, whose
baby daddy Robert Pattinson was in the crowd, and Paramour's
Hailey Williams even making a Twilight reference while shouting him
(20:40):
out as a request for a song. Mister Waterhouse, she
called him saying he has the skin of a killer Bella.
It's for you, for you always Robert, before quoting some
(21:00):
more lines from the movie and launching into her amazing music.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
But Eagle Eyed's.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
Swifties also showed a very interesting hint the singer may
have dropped. She debuted a brand new body suit during
the Midnight's portion of her London show Friday night, and
once again, they think it reveals the release date of
her next re record. This would be Reputation Taylor's version.
Speaker 4 (21:30):
Now.
Speaker 3 (21:30):
This new bodysuit featured stars and a slipper of a moon,
very reminiscent of when she wore her new Midnight's outfit
the day before.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
She announced nineteen eighty nine Tailor's version.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
I have not seen anything yet, but if you believe
the fans, they say that we're very very close to
hearing Reputation.
Speaker 1 (21:49):
I just want to know whether or not it's actually
a sign that this is. Does she ever come out
after the fact and say yes, it was an Easter
egg to let you guys know that this was happening,
because otherwise I just feel like they make stuff up
and then it winds up being right eventually.
Speaker 2 (22:04):
I don't think she has, but why would she. She's
Taylor Swift. I fully believe that.
Speaker 3 (22:08):
All of this is very planned and done very masterfully,
and she would never admit to it because that's part
of the brilliant marketing. Ben affleg All smiles reuniting with
his ex wife Jennifer Garner to send their daughter Violet
off to college over the weekend, but once again notably
absent Jennifer Lopez. Photos show the actor like the happiest.
(22:32):
I feel like we've seen him in months, enjoying dinner
with Garner and both Violet and Finn. They were in
New Haven, Connecticut. Violet's rumored to be attending Yale. It
just looks so different than when he's with Jala. Remember
they just had their two year anniversary that they did
not spend together. She has been seen sporting her wedding
(22:54):
ring still. But there's a lot of rumor between homes
being sold, a potential bachelor pad being bought that things
do not look to be very good here. And if
some people are thinking, well, why would you want to
hang out with his ex? Jennifer Garner and j Lo
have hung out together quite a bit. Jennifer's kids with
Ben have hung out with Jalo and gone shopping, So
(23:15):
I don't think it's anything to do with that.
Speaker 2 (23:17):
These two seem to be very, very rocky.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
Thenk Yale, though, gotta be a proud papa from you
know Ben Affleck South Boston or sending his daughter to Yale.
Speaker 3 (23:26):
Finally, Haley Welch aka the Hawk to a Girl is
talking about some of her celebrity suitors, including one rapper
who asked her out on a proper date. That's right,
it's Young Gravy. She was caught outside the Weston in
New York over the weekend talking about Young popping into
her DMS.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
Young Gravy, No.
Speaker 5 (23:48):
Way, you know, do you think he's kind of like,
get what should give a cure?
Speaker 2 (23:53):
I all stay around to night. I'm like, it's not
going for a young Gravy.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
And when asked if she's planning to stick around Hollywood,
her reaction, no, it's not for me. I'm headed back
to Tennessee. This has been fun but I'm good.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
I don't know. I mean, you play your cards right.
You could become missus Gravy someday, Schmitty. I mean, think
about it.
Speaker 3 (24:13):
I think Young Gravy's hair would do it for me.
I just think he has the best hair all of
your celeb scoop at West Michigan Star.
Speaker 1 (24:18):

one answer, what hundred men surveyed, who name a job
that has the greatest stories?
Speaker 1 (24:40):
Honestly, I'm surprised only because you know, we got the
first day of school here. It's not on the list.
How is teacher not on the list? Because every teacher
I know has some insane stories.
Speaker 3 (24:50):
Also, if you haven't found the teacher side of TikTok oh, yeah,
it's so good. Six one six, four five eight one
oh five seven collar seven First chance at the number
one answer. One hundred men surveyed, name a job that
has the greatest stories? And you could be heading the

and let's see if we can get you hooked up.
Tell me. When a hundred guys were asked to name
a job whose members have the most interesting stories to tell,
what do you think the tech answer was, I'm gonna
say nurse. You're gonna say nurse. Yeah, nurses. I'd imagine
they see not only incredibly insane things, but also gross
(25:38):
things too, which is also gonna make for a great story,
But that's not on there. I'm sorry, Chelsea.
Speaker 3 (25:45):
All right, well, thank you.
Speaker 1 (25:47):
Have a great week, you too, Hi Star. Who's this?

Speaker 1 (25:56):
Hi, Brianna. Chelsea just gave me a great guest. When
a hundred guys were asked to name job whose members
have the best stories, she said nurse And yeah, doctors
and nurses definitely with a lot of crazy stories, but
that was not on the list. You got a chance here.
What do you think it is? Brienna?
Speaker 3 (26:13):
I'm gonna go with a police officer.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
You're gonna go with a police officer. I've seen enough
episodes of cops to know that those folks have some
incredible stories for sure. Yes, Brianna police officer is the
top answer. Congratulate, thank you. Yeah, you're getting to bring
the kiddos to Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live Glow party

(27:09):
Thanks for hanging with us this morning. Back and Schmidty
on what is for many kids in West Michigan the
first day of school, But of course there's lots of
days where kids are going back over the next couple
of weeks. Here Schmidty, However, my wife will not be
present when my kids go back. That's hard for the
first time ever in their scholastic lives. My wife is
traveling for her job for the first time in a
(27:31):
year since having this job, that she's actually had to
travel for it. And it happens to be the entire
first week of school, the first week of my kids
sports kicking off. There are a whole bunch of things
going on, and she's not going to be there for
any of it. Yeah, and she is so stressed out.
She's leaving a little bit later on today. And I
(27:52):
thought it was the stress. And I got a little
frustrated yesterday because I swear to God, my wife is
putting together how to live for dummies.
Speaker 2 (28:01):
For me, I would do the exact same thing.
Speaker 1 (28:03):
Okay, so like she has, she has literally given me,
like she's going through and taking notes yesterday as she's
going through with the different things for our kids lunches,
because one of my kids wants their lunch packed, the
other one does hot lunch, their first day of school outfits.
They have picture day also this week because they do
it right off the bed, right at the beginning of
(28:25):
the year. So I've got to deal with that, and
I am being so dismissive of my wife's efforts. I
am sitting there yesterday being like, oh, thank God, how
would I know to put the food in the sack
if I didn't have you written it writing it down
for me. I'm just being a sarcastic jerk, as I
tend to be. And then it came time for getting
(28:46):
my daughter's hair ready for the first day of school.
And now I not only did I take diligent notes myself,
but I created a three minute long video tutorial on
how to do this very specific brain in my daughter's hair.
And then it just started snowballing. After that, I realized
all the things that I would be completely helpless for
(29:06):
that I had no idea about. And by the end
of it, I was just I started to get anxious.
I started to get scared.
Speaker 3 (29:14):
I cannot pray my husband enough. Like he's been doing
all of the morning stuff, yea our entire I've been
working mornings for eighteen years, Like I have never been
home for morning stuff. I mean, Mike's son is six now.
He does backpacks, lunches, hair, clothes, everything top to bottom,
(29:35):
and he's amazing at it. I get nervous if I
have to take a morning off because he's working, and
I'm thrown into like, oh my gosh, what's the map
for the pickup line? No wait, I walk Sophia in
like he is so amazing. And I completely understand that
level of stress, because if you're not used to the
morning routine, it can go absolutely haywire and you will
never hear the end of it.
Speaker 2 (29:56):
No, exactly, I will never hear the ARP.
Speaker 1 (29:58):
I might never see the end of it, shmitting because
I didn't know I had pressure until there was the
pressure of making sure that my children looked acceptable in
their school photos for the year, and all of a sudden,
I'm like, that's the thing I gotta worry about, Yes,
and I'm extremely concerned.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
I'no, Michelle, I would have called him sick. I would
have called in sick to the work trip and stay behind.
Believe me, if she thought that was an option, I
think she would. If your significant other just all of
a sudden, boom disappeared, abraca daber, They're.
Speaker 1 (30:22):
Gone, what would you be completely clueless about? We got
this cat on Facebook and manned if people have some
big ones at West Michigan Staw.
Speaker 4 (30:34):
Sometime because I get a good feeling.
Speaker 1 (30:37):
Well, let's go into this week and maybe a new
school year in the right mindset, shall be feeling good.
Right now in startin O five point seven. What's happening?
Speaker 3 (30:44):
I've got an update on that incredible story out of
Lake Saint Clair a couple of weeks ago, a fifteen
year old being hailed a hero after he saved a
woman from drowning. John Agnello lives in Saint Clair Shores,
saw a cargo flying into the air, landing in the
water at Lake Front Marina. Him and a buddy jumped
into action, actually saving her life. While that video went
(31:08):
viral and a lot of people noticed what he happened
to be wearing in Amen Ross Saint Brown Lions jersey,
and that caught the eye of the Lions as well.
Speaker 2 (31:19):
John got quite the surprise last.
Speaker 3 (31:21):
Week at Lions training camp when Saint Brown himself brought
him to Alan Park to give him this little surprise.
Speaker 1 (31:30):
Is this the famous jersey? Since you had that jersey,
we're gonnaupdate you with a new one.
Speaker 6 (31:34):
How's that sound?
Speaker 2 (31:34):
I had no clue this would happen at all.
Speaker 5 (31:36):
Wow, this is awesome.
Speaker 3 (31:38):
Fans of Detroit are the best fans in the world,
so I wouldn't want to be playing for any other team.
Wouldn't want to be playing for any other team. But
hold on, that wasn't the only surprise they had. Check
Out the gasp that seven News caught when John also
found out he'd be going to the Lions home opener.
That's gonna be amazing. Can't wait to see you there.
Speaker 1 (31:58):
Shoot, but I was gonna rodga.
Speaker 3 (32:00):
I already know Florfi was gonna be lit.
Speaker 4 (32:02):
We're ready to get a gone man's right.
Speaker 5 (32:04):
Yeah, this is great.
Speaker 2 (32:06):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (32:06):
Brand new Aman Rossaint Brown, Jersey and him and three
friends going to the completely sold out Lions home owner
Hope opener as a big thank you for his life
saving efforts.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
Well deserved, but how awesome is that? I'd love I'm
on ross Saint Brown. I'm so glad that inked him
to a big long deal.
Speaker 2 (32:24):
Guess that guy great.
Speaker 1 (32:25):
He does so much he gives back to Detroit and
I'd love seeing that all right, Smitty. Thousands of people
of fans, young athletes, parents of course, to all flocking
to Williamsport, Pennsylvania for this week's Little League World Series.
We actually saw the Tigers Battle of the Yankees from
there over the weekend, but also in on top of
the games, there will be the annual Home Run Derby
(32:47):
and that is where West Michigan will be represented by
a young girl from Byron Center. Talking about Emma Moore,
a twelve year old who are Dad Jeremy describes as
a force at the plates and she's show it off
for the entire country. She's been playing softball for quite
some time year, but this will be her first year
(33:07):
headed too the t Mobile Little League Home Run Derby.
There at the Little League World Series last year, she
made it to the regional round of the competition, came
up a little bit short, worked hard for another year,
and went to the Byron Center qualifier smidty or get this,
despite some rain, she blasted seventy home runs. That's our girl,
seventy home runs to get to the regionals. From there,
(33:30):
she traveled to Kansas for the East Regionals, where she
went up against ten other girls from across the country.
Had her teammates back here in West Michigan cheering her on,
and she won the whole dang thing. This was her
mom amy as well as Emma. Talking to Fox seventeen
about the experience.
Speaker 4 (33:46):
Emma's had a lot of good experiences with softball. She
has the most amazing teammates, the most encouraging coaches, and
to see it paying off and her, you know, getting
to celebrate how much she's grown by doing the Home
Run Derby has been really exciting. They had like a
watch party for me when I saw some videos and
(34:06):
they were like trash talking to other competitors.
Speaker 1 (34:09):
Yeah, trash talking, sending some words of encouragement to Emma,
who is again gonna be taken on the Home Run Derby.
This Friday night. You can actually watch Emma at seven
pm on ESPN two as she tries to take down
the Home Run Derby title.
Speaker 2 (34:25):
However, young your girls watch too.
Speaker 1 (34:26):
That's gonna be awesome. I know my daughdol, who is
doing softball this fall, will be big time into this.
Very cool to see and that's what we want to
show you every day, great things going on out there
with feeling good. We'll do it again tomorrow, six forty
five and nine twenty. Every weekday you're on Star Mack
and Schmidty in the morning weekday starting at six am
on Star one oh five point seven
