Speaker 1 (00:02):
Wake up.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
It gets my day going. It makes me laugh. I
love it. Mac in Schmitty in the Morning on Star
one oh five point seven.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
Good morning, Schmitty, Good morning.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Welcome into the final Tuesday of August. You can do
that every day this week. By the way, it's the
final Wednesday. It's the final, right because you know when
the first falls out of Saturday makes it easy.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
August has showing up. Though.

Speaker 4 (00:26):
Don't put any clothes on today. That's what we're gonna
say about the forecast. If you missed it, it is
gonna be hot. We're talking nineties heat index. That's that delightful.
Feels like could be near a hondo. And unfortunately, if
your kids just starting back, there's a chance they might
not be going today. There are quite a few schools

(00:48):
in West Michigan that have actually called off because without
that AC in the building, it's going.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
To be pretty rough.

Speaker 5 (00:53):
Movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
It's the Celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 4 (01:01):
I mean, what an absolutely traumatic weekend for Mariah Carey
facing double the heartbreak as it was announced yesterday, both
her mom, Patricia and her sister Allison passed away on
the same day over the weekend, the singer, in a
statement said, my heart is broken that I've lost my
mother this past weekend. Sadly, in a tragic turn of events,

(01:24):
my sister lost her life on the same day, where adding,
I feel blessed that I was able to spend the
last week with my mom before she passed. I appreciate
everyone's love and support and respect for my privacy during
this impossible time. Patricia and Allison's causes of death are
not known at this time. But isn't that just heartbreaking?

Speaker 2 (01:45):
It's an impossible thing to deal with right there. I
don't know where you find solace in that, other than
the you know, if you're a spiritual person, just saying it,
at least you hope they're together, you know, like spirit wise,
Like that's just crazy.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
I just hope she's able to break down of the
pre obviously of her home and have enough time degree
There ain't nothing you can say in this moment that
is so so sad. Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's divorce
continues to be messy and getting more complicated by the minute.
So here's the deal. I told you last week. The
big problem here. The couple has no pre nups, which

(02:18):
means everything they acquired over their two year marriage community
property that includes assets acquired during the marriage would be
divided equally.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
But it's not so easy. One of those.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
Big assets, Ben's hugely successful production company, Artists Equity. This
is the one he has partnered with Matt Damon On.
That means Matt could also get dragged into the ugly
divorce proceedings since he's a major stakeholder in the company.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
Get this. The company was.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
Formed in November of twenty twenty two, just four months
after Ben and Gen tied the not so it is
counted as community property. Jalo could also be financially entitled
to profits that were generated by a that includes hit
movies like Air Unstoppable, The Instigators the accountant to However,

(03:07):
j Loo's also been involved in a number of projects
like Atlas, This Is Me Now, The Mother and Shotgun Wedding,
and Ben would have a financial interest in those films
as well.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
This is not good.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
And by the way, remember sources are saying these two
are not even speaking to one another at the moment,
so it's not like this could be some amicable agreements.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Well, that's the part that I think is going to
be fascinated because you know, you think, oh, we went
through an engagement called it off, then we got married.
Things didn't work out like that. You would have had
so much shared history that you would just want to say,
your money's your money, my money's my money, will split
what we made together, let's get out of here. No,
I don't feel like that. I feel like knives are out, they're.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
Going for their house been up for sale, twinsy mill
right there and nobody is touching it. Finally, a big
apology from a TikToker and influencer, Alex Earl, finally issuing
an apology for racist social media posts she made at
thirteen so. The posts came out on a website called

(04:06):
ask at Them. They first came to light on Reddit
more than two years ago, but they resurfaced in the
past couple weeks after being shared on different online platforms.
Fans have been asking Earl flooding her TikTok comments. She
finally addressed the controversy in a lengthy statement she shared
on her TikTok and Insta stories yesterday, saying, I'm deeply

(04:27):
sorry that my words have hurt many and have led
people to believe that I have any prejudice in my heart.
I promise you that could not be further from the truth.
My platform has always focused on positivity, entertainment, and uplifting
others and will continue to do so. I regret how
I handled this situation, allowing too many people to talk
me out of saying something for too long. I wasn't

(04:48):
sure how to handle it, and unfortunately the advice I
was given, although well intended, was wrong. In the absence
of my addressing this, my silence allowed others to fill
the void with rumors that simply aren't true. Regardless of
what's being said online. I wanted to come on here
to address the facts and most importantly apologize. This is
I believe, the most followed person on TikTok. She has

(05:11):
millions and millions of followers, and there has been a
ton of backlash that she did take so long to
talk about this because it was a lot.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
Of the N word being used. It was some really
nasty language.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
I'm wish there's no excuse for. At the same time,
if there is one, it's that you're talking about a
thirteen year old's my billion dollar idea for Elon or
Bell Gates or Tim Cook or anybody else. Find a
button that can be pushed when you turn eighteen years
old that deleted everything you did on the internet up
until the point.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
You became an I mean, but even then, that's not
going to do anything.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
People screenshoted this years ago, way before she was eighteen.
All of your celeb scoop at West Michigan Star dot com.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
Sometimes because I get.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
A good feeling something to bring a smile to your
face on these Tuesday morning I feel like good on
startwino fon point seven and man, we love this nonprofit.
Laurie's voice sat it again schmiddy. Six year old Ben
Prosser of Rockford. He's on nonverbal book communicates through an
electronic device, and his parents Sam and Hillary. They have

(06:12):
been lifting him in and out of their vehicle and
then getting him into his chair every single time they
need to go anywhere, and as any parent knows, that's
all the time, constantly. It is a major hurdle to
doing things with Ben that they would love to be doing,
like just taking simple family vacations. Well that's where Laurie's

(06:34):
Voice stepped in. Ben was selected out of about three
hundred applicants and just received a new fully accessible van,
a new mini van that is going to be life
changing for the family. As a matter of fact, his mom,
Hillary said, the news came at just an amazing time.
They had actually just dropped off their vehicle to his shop,
had to get estimates on it, and they got the

(06:55):
phone called that they were getting this reliable and life
changing van, all in the same hour. Pretty incredible.

Speaker 6 (07:02):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
Laurie's voice, if you didn't know, founded by Laurie Hastings,
and she talked about this band, say, the chassis dropped down,
there's a ramp, there's lockdowns for anyone that's in a wheelchair.
They run between seventy and eighty thousand dollars because of
all the equipment and electronics that's pump into it. So
this is just massive for their family. And Sam Prosser

(07:22):
talking to wood TV just about how this changes life
for them.

Speaker 5 (07:25):
We have so much equipment that we got to bring
with us places just for men to be comfortable.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
It's like having this is going to be different.

Speaker 7 (07:32):
You know, we're wheeler's wheelchair in, wheels, wheelchair out.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
We can take them where ever we want. To go.
This is completely life changing, so.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
Big shout out to Laurie's Voice and congratulations to the
Prosser family who has their first big family camping trip planned.

Speaker 3 (07:45):
You ever want to join me?

Speaker 4 (07:46):
Laurie's Voice walk for the challenges usually in June every
year and it is exceptionally cool. All right, we have
got a huge swifty that no matter what is it
going to be stopped from seeing Taylor, eight year old
lives in Chicago and spent her entire summer, even in
ninety plus degree heat, selling lemonade to see her most

(08:09):
favorite artist in the whole wide world, Taylor Swift, and
it paid off. Mom sat down with ABC seven saying
it was all Elena that came up with the idea.

Speaker 6 (08:20):
So I asked my mom, if five kids you a
lemonade stand to see Mom, and she said yeah. So
I just shorted and then it started to come out good.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Thank you.

Speaker 8 (08:31):
We were just all for it, just helping her every
day lemonade get out there whenever she could, and she
started taking off.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
She really took off.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
In fact, thanks to the Swifties, she was seeing people
on Facebook and TikTok other social platforms that were giving
virtually to the lemonade she was setting up all around
Chicago and she finally did it. That was just a
couple of weeks ago when her mom surprised her with
tickets to That's right, Elena made so much money with

(09:03):
that Chicago lemonade she was able to afford London Taylor
Swift tickets. But here is that extra sweet moment.

Speaker 8 (09:11):
My mom passed away two days ago, so we were
supposed to make the announcement that day and my mom
was supposed to be here. So of my mom not
being here, I attached a picture to her passport book
Polinus when I gave her the gift. So my mom
will be coming to London with her.

Speaker 6 (09:26):
And I know that she's proud of me right now
when she's on there, and I know that she's always
going to be watching me, and she's always with me
in my heart.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
Is that incredible? She was at the final night of
the London show. The video has gone viral for how
fantastically excited she was.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
West Michigan Star dot com.

Speaker 1 (09:43):
I mean, that's a lot of lemonade for.

Speaker 3 (09:45):
Good job, ridiculous.

Speaker 5 (09:46):
Movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 4 (09:54):
Oh man, it is official, and I promise you it
is August of twenty twenty four. You are living in
a time where Oasis has announced the reunion is official.
In fact, just a couple hours ago on X both
brothers Yes, Noel and Liam together making the announcement. Oasis

(10:16):
has a comeback reunion tour planned for next year. The
tour will kick off on July fourth in Wales. The
band is playing a total of fourteen dates across the UK.
In that post on X, the brother said, this is it,
this is happening. There has been no great moment that
is ignited the reunion, just the gradual realization that the

(10:39):
time is right, adding they're also planning to play more
dates outside of Europe later next year. The announcement is
just days away from the thirtieth anniversary of Oasis' nineteen
ninety four debut album Definitely Maybe. Tickets go on sale
nine am local time this Sea, That is four am

(11:01):
here in the Eastern time zone.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
I want to know whether or not the brothers Gallagher
could even get along long enough for this to go on,
because these two have hated each other and said some.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
Of the most terrible things about now too.

Speaker 4 (11:16):
There is no way that a management team or promoter
have not been speaking to these guys for months, if
not years, making sure like we're not going to pour
all of this money into all of this marketing, the
teasing that we've been doing for the past two months.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
If you guys can't hold this together, it looks like
it's happening even there.

Speaker 4 (11:35):
One of their daughters came out on TikTok said she's
super excited. She's seen her dad and her uncle getting
along beautifully and they are ready to start this new
chapter together.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
So we'll see.

Speaker 4 (11:46):
Travis kelcey making an early morning dash in his private
jet yesterday. No longer in Rhode Island, as he's been
hanging out the past few days with Taylor Swift and
her A list pals at a big birthday party for
Blake Life, he made sure he was back in Kansas
City in order to receive that Sportsperson of the Year

(12:07):
reward and of course get ready for the big kickoff
of the NFL season. But this is very interesting. There's
reports this morning that Travis kelce appears absolutely set on
making a full move to Hollywood after his NFL career
is over. You notice that Kelsey's already started to appear
in a few Hollywood productions. He's in the newest American

(12:28):
horror story that will be debuting in just a couple months.
But these sources to all the Sun, he plans to
make it a full time job in the future. A
lot of it comes from his cameo that is due
up in Adam Sandler's Happy Gilmore Too.

Speaker 7 (12:42):
Got me some cameos in there, a lot that I
heard you.

Speaker 1 (12:45):
Do you know Travis Kelce oh wants to be part
of this? Yes, yes, yes, he's talking about us.

Speaker 7 (12:50):
Yes, yes, Travis has been he mentioned it, And so
we have a nice something for Travis. He's going to
come by and and he's very nice guy. You guys
would him in real life? What a big handsome guy.

Speaker 4 (13:02):
And that big handsome guy is looking for any movie
role he can apparently get his hands on.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
I mean, I hope to see Happy Gilmore fight Travis
Kelce sort of like Bob Barker at the.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
Originally got that.

Speaker 4 (13:12):
Finally, this one is for my Michigan fans. He is
ready to tell his truth.

Speaker 3 (13:18):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (13:18):
The New Untold Connor Stallion's doc has officially dropped on Netflix.

Speaker 9 (13:26):
So I recorded myself doing probably two to three thousand signals.
When I was done, I uploaded each photo into my
sheet where I belong. I developed my own database, which
is the next evolution of my game day sheet. Instead
of memorizing words, I was memorizing pictures, and I would

(13:48):
say that is the number one reason why I became
as good as I did at deciphering signals.

Speaker 4 (13:56):
This is the first time we're hearing straight from Connor.
The episode is about an hour and a half. Looks
like it dropped at midnight, so if you want to
take a look.

Speaker 3 (14:03):
A lot of.

Speaker 4 (14:03):
The reviews I've heard so far is kind of really
paints himself as the victim here, saying if I'm a
bad guy, every single person in football is doing bad stuff.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
As a Michigan fan, I'm looking forward to watching it
and seeing his take on it. I think it's far
far from over though, and it's something we're going to
hear about all season one.

Speaker 3 (14:20):
All right, all your celeb scoop at West Michigan start.

Speaker 2 (14:22):
Off up fun points, Chevin, Good morning to you. It's
Mac and Schmidty and I just saw your first day
of school photos kids looking ridiculously Yeah.

Speaker 4 (14:32):
So my daughter went back last week, but yesterday was
my son's first act and this was a big deal
because he is going to a brand new school, so
I wanted to make sure you know, I was there.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
And it was great.

Speaker 4 (14:43):
It was wonderful, and he's super excited because where we
moved to in Rockford, we can walk to school now
and it's just, oh my gosh, yesterday was just the
cutest Suburbia Hallmark Channel thing you can imagine. A bunch
of parents had like coffee and doughnuts set up on
drive ways our whole walk in and you could see
it like just a bunch of families walking with their kids.

(15:05):
It was just it was a really lovely sense of community. Yeah,
and I thought, boy, this is gonna be perfect. He's
been so excited all summer to walk home from school
with his friends that live next door. You know, we're
all gonna do this, We're all gonna we'll go. And
because we had to do card drop off in the morning,
because my lovely husband is going to be making trips

(15:26):
to and from downtown Grand Rapids, where my daughter still
goes to school.

Speaker 3 (15:30):
And then high tailing it back north.

Speaker 4 (15:32):
Well, that was a lot of the reason I took
the morning off yesterday is to make sure we had
all bases covered, since it was going to be the
first time. We were kind of timing out this crazy commute.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
But it went great.

Speaker 4 (15:42):
So we dropped him off in the morning, and then
we said, we're gonna meet you. We're going to walk
home with you after school. We can talk about everything
that happened and all the new friends you might as
got to be wonderful. Don't do that ever, because yesterday,
I'm sure anyone living in West Michigan is aware of.
It was like ninety six degrees and let me tell

(16:05):
you what I thought would be this core memory of
our family together walking home from school turned into a
sweaty pile of tears.

Speaker 3 (16:16):
Like it was so hot. I should have brought the car.

Speaker 1 (16:19):
I should have got teral meltdown.

Speaker 4 (16:22):
I should have driven the point two miles ac blasting
instead of getting halfway up our neighborhood hill and just
the melt out.

Speaker 3 (16:31):
My daughter is in her stroller, she's hot.

Speaker 4 (16:34):
Will's backpack is too heavy, his water bottle is empty.
By the time we finally dragged ourselves into the house.
None of us wanted to be around each other, like
we all got in showers. The back of my neck
was soaked with sweat. My hair was wet because it
was just so hot. And I'm sitting there like, in
what world did I think that was gonna be a

(16:56):
good parent to move like. He just got done with
his end of school recess, so he's already hot, and
then we're hiking up these hills. We're getting back to
the house and it's just like, how is your day?
And he's like, I hate you. I've lost seventeen pounds.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
Where is the car? The walk home?

Speaker 3 (17:13):
So that's just my warning to you.

Speaker 4 (17:15):
We're all trying to make you know those first day memories,
and mine will, I'm certain forever be the fact I
almost tried to kill my son with dehydration.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
It was a terrible idea. Terrible idea.

Speaker 6 (17:26):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (17:27):
Moral of the story, show up at the bus stop
today with a squirt gun filled with ice water.

Speaker 4 (17:31):
Where you go set up a giant tub and cold
plunge your kids because you got the heat advisory feels
like tempts could be one oh five. Please Lord, do
not make exercise or outdoor nature any part of your
day today.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
Thank you, You're welcome. Je me so salty.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
You know we head off any implosions though by simply
allowing her to vent salty schmittee. Right now, I'm starting
on five point seven, and you mentioned every parent's favorite
decorating accessory glitter.

Speaker 4 (18:00):
Yes, And I want to hurt by saying I think
this is such a great idea. And I know that
our teachers work so hard to figure out how to
make those first few days of school just easier and
better to transition. But do we have to use glitter?
Have you heard of something called jitter glitter? Did your

(18:21):
kids ever get jitter glitter? So my son's teacher canded
this out at the open house last week.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
It was really cool.

Speaker 4 (18:29):
It was just this little zip black bag full of
glitters you put together, and it came with this really
cute poem that goes something like, the night before school
is exciting and fun, with so many things that just
have to be done, and then there are so many
questions to go through your mind, all kinds of things,
some of every kind. The day before school, everyone gets
jitters down deep, making it really hard to fall fast

(18:51):
to sleep. So here's some jitter glitter. It's really quite cool.
It's something to help you feel relaxed, rested and ready
for school. And you're supposed to take this glitter and
sprinkle it under your pillow. And then his teacher's like,
I'm gonna do the same thing. Will all be stuff
for school?

Speaker 1 (19:05):
What a terrible idea.

Speaker 4 (19:07):
It's cute like because my son was so excited about it.

Speaker 3 (19:11):
It's all he talked about.

Speaker 4 (19:11):
We had his open house on like a Wednesday, and
he couldn't wait for Sunday night when he could do
is jitter glitter?

Speaker 3 (19:16):
But as any parent knows.

Speaker 4 (19:18):
Glitter did it have to be glitter? There's glitter everywhere.
There's glitter all over his bed sheets. There was glitter
on me because we read books before school. There's glitter
on the carpet, like we're sitting there and he's sprinkling
it around. I can see my husband, my anal, very
clean husband, in the corner of his room, just like
tensing at this. We're gonna glitter in our house for

(19:43):
the next decade.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
You changed the sheets, I don't care how many times
you'll be finding glitter on the pillow case.

Speaker 4 (19:51):
Trying to figure out other things that rhyme with jitter
because I get it.

Speaker 3 (19:54):
I love it, but it's like give me.

Speaker 4 (19:56):
Like a I don't know, can we vacuum up your jitter?
Because now I've still glitter on myself. I walked in
this morning and I noticed myself sparkling in the elevator.

Speaker 3 (20:06):
Shy, So sulky, do you.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
Get a first grade or a gentleman's club? I mean,
I'm I'm confused.

Speaker 3 (20:12):
Sorry to the parents listening having to explain.

Speaker 5 (20:14):
That Moodie's music and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 2 (20:21):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 4 (20:25):
Well, a lot of people have tried to make this
a thing, thinking Taylor Swift and Charlie XCX had some
serious beef, which Taylor is now trying to squash, praising
Charlie in a new interview, despite one of her recent
songs leading fans to believe maybe there were some bad blood.
So the third track on Charlie's latest album, Brat, Parents,

(20:49):
you might remember the Brat summer you've heard your kids
talking about is called in sympathy is a knife singing.
I couldn't even be her if I tried. A lot
of fans thought she'd be talking about Taylor. Not the
case at all, And Taylor is in a New York
magazine interview talking about Charlie saying she's blown away by
her music the Fearless songstres saying I have been blown

(21:10):
away by Charlie's melodic sensibilities since I first heard Stay
Away in twenty eleven. Her writing is surreal and inventive.
Always she just takes a song to places you wouldn't
expect it to go, and she's been doing it consistently
for over a decade. I love to see hard work
like that payoff. This is probably one of Charlie's biggest

(21:31):
albums to date. This song Apple were songs of the
Summer for gen Z, And it's really cool for Taylor
to be like man credit where credit is due.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
She's phenomenal.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
Ay kidding me?

Speaker 2 (21:41):
That's like a million dollar endorsement right there. Like you
can say personal, but like the amount of ears that
that review from Taylor reaches about, Charlie XCX's music is invaluable.

Speaker 4 (21:52):
Like Elly, I honestly thought Charlie would join her on
stage in London. Yeah, I did think she would be
maybe a surprise Wembley star, but I would not be
shocked if the two of them elaborate. Ben Affleck is
not rushing into any kind of bounce back relationship after
his public divorce. Despite the rumors, No, Ben Affleck has

(22:12):
not been hanging out or trying to date Kick Kennedy.
This is RFK Junior's daughter source to say no romance
brewing between the pair, despite being seen.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
Together a few times. Not dating.

Speaker 4 (22:25):
Definitely not a couple. Not super clear how long Benn
and Kick have known each other, but they are just
really close friends.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
Literally It no romance at all.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
Yeah, sure, and definitely wouldn't be a good idea in
the midst of a contentious divorce that you're currently involved in.

Speaker 4 (22:40):
Finally, Tyrese Gibson, the actor sharing a very difficult time
he experienced as a kid, revealing his mom made him
act special needs to get money from the government. He
sat down in a new podcast episode where the Fast
and Furious actor claimed it was a very weird thing

(23:03):
he definitely had to do.

Speaker 10 (23:05):
My mama made us go to a social Security building
and play we can get to seven hundred and eighty
dollars straight up government. She said, this is what we're
gonna do. She said, we got to go into this
county building. And you know, if y'all end up doing this,
we're gonna get seven hundred and sixty dollars a month.
And your mama could use this. You know, I'm here,

(23:26):
we in the hood. I'm working and trying to keep up.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
As for y'all kind of insane, he did go on.

Speaker 4 (23:32):
Of course, his mom, Priscilla passed away in twenty twenty two,
so he said, by the way, government, you can't come
after us now she's passed on.

Speaker 2 (23:38):
Uh And you know what that's not. That's not faf Schmidti,
it's doctrine.

Speaker 3 (23:42):

Speaker 2 (23:45):
Com, Mack and Smitty ready to throw down on your
Tuesday morning and your shot to get out for some
action pumping fun with hot Wheels, Monster Trucks Line with
Glow Party. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (23:54):
If you've ever been to one of the Monster Trucks
live shows, you know that they are so much fun.
If your kids have been listening all the way to school,
I guarantee they've been begging for these tickets, We've got him.
Today's number one answer scores you and the family your
way to Vanndel. One hundred men surveyed, when you let
someone borrow your car, what do you hate to discover
when it's returned?

Speaker 2 (24:14):
Well, the person I'm giving it to most often is
just my wife driving my car, and I can't stand
getting in and feel like I've just entered a clown
car because he sits so damn close to the wheel.

Speaker 3 (24:23):
I cannot stand the trash.

Speaker 4 (24:25):
And the people that drive our station vehicles here are
absolute animals. Six one, six, four, five, eight, one oh
five seven. One hundred men surveyed. When you let someone
borrow your car, what do you hate to discover when
it's returned?

Speaker 3 (24:38):
Call her seven? First chance is the number one answer.

Speaker 4 (24:41):
And Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live tickets with Star, Good
morning Star.

Speaker 1 (24:45):
Who's this?

Speaker 5 (24:47):
This is Alison Alisten.

Speaker 1 (24:49):
Where are you calling from today?

Speaker 2 (24:51):
All right, listen, I want to give you these Hot
Wheels Monster Truck live tickets. What you gotta do is
tell me when one hundred men were asked, when you
let somebody borrow your car, tell me something you hate
to discover after it's returned to you.

Speaker 5 (25:06):
That they ate and left crumbs all over.

Speaker 2 (25:09):
They ate and they left crumbs all over basically leaving
your car nastified. And unfortunately that's the number three answer there.
I'm sorry, I have a great day, you too, Good
morning star.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
Who's this? I'm sorry? What's your name?

Speaker 4 (25:30):
Bryn?

Speaker 1 (25:32):
Bryn?

Speaker 2 (25:35):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (25:35):
Brin? Awesome? How old are you?

Speaker 5 (25:37):
Brin?

Speaker 1 (25:39):
Eight years old? Does that mean you would?

Speaker 2 (25:41):
Did you go into third grade this year or second grade?
Third grade? A big third grader. Well, let's see if
we can get you these hot Wheels tickets. Brinn Gott
tell me when one hundred men were asked when someone
let you borrow your car, name something you'd hate to
discover after its return. I already got one, good guest.
The number three most common answer was that they would
leave its dirty. But that was again the number three answer.

(26:02):
What do you think the top answer is there? Out
of gas? Hey, Brie, will you make a promise to me?
Promise in eight years, when you get your driver's license,
you won't ever leave your mom's car on empty?

Speaker 1 (26:15):
Deal? You got it all right? Fine?

Speaker 2 (26:18):
In return for that, I'm giving you take it's to
Hot Wheels. Congrats, guys, that's good.

Speaker 1 (26:22):
Top answer, Very cool.

Speaker 2 (26:25):
Yeah, hot Wheels, Monster Chucks live. Way to go, bree
nicely done. You are so welcome. We're gonna send you
the hot Wheels, Monster Trucks, live glow party over at
Van Andelerina and another chance to battle and win tomorrow
eight fifteen. You're on starlin A five points shoven A
fine points seven in to Mac and Schmidi. And what

(26:46):
are we up to here now? Schmiddi? Like eight billion
people on this planet. Sure I believe about that somewhere
in there. But time and time again we see it's
just a small world. And I'm sorry if I just
put the It's a small world after All song in
your head.

Speaker 1 (26:59):
Because it's in mine now.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
But my wife went to Vegas last week for her
first basic work trip with the company that she's been
with for about a year. They're based in Las Vegas.
She works at home remotely, but this was their first
time all coming together and meeting each other. And she's
in a room meeting her direct team. There are six
people in this room, Schmidi, and they're doing the obligatories,

(27:21):
you know, introductions, a little more about me, some interesting
facts about myself. And this guy's young guy gets on
there and he's like, well, I am a die hard
Red Wings fanatic and Maife goes, oh, yeah, from Michigan.
He goes yeah, and she's like, oh, you know where
he goes? Well, Southeast Detroit. She goes where he goes,

(27:44):
Clinton Township. She's like, me too, that's where I grew up.
He goes, yeah, I went to Chippewa. It's me too.
A huge school, right, yeah. Chippewa is in like Clinton Township, Michigan.
I think they had like four hundred, five hundred people
as part of their graduating classes. Big, big school. But
still she goes, well, where did you live? And she's like,
sixteen of Moravia, Me too. This guy is twenty five

(28:10):
years old and lives three streets behind her in a
little suburb in Clinton Township, Michigan. She's like, he's like,
oh yeah, my wife and I we graduated college. I
went to Michigan State and then we moved out to
Las Vegas. She goes, are you freaking kidding me?

Speaker 6 (28:26):
Me?

Speaker 3 (28:26):
Sweir right. It's like it's a break in the matrix.

Speaker 1 (28:29):
Like he goes, oh, yeah, did you go to school
with Haley.

Speaker 2 (28:32):
I went to school with Haley em and M's daughter,
Haley and my wife who's fifteen years this kid senior goes, no,
I was there with his brother. She's like different generations,
but this guy essentially lived her life. Fifteen years later,
they're in the same room. Out of all of these people,
there's like three thousand people that work just for this company.

(28:53):
She's in a room with five other people, and one
of them lived two hundred yards away from her, went
to the same high school, who married, went to the
same college, and then moved down to the same place
that she did afterwards, and now they find themselves together.

Speaker 4 (29:07):
I did the student scholarship dinner for the Michigan Education
Trust a few months ago, and the woman standing next
to me in the buffet, who was probably thirty years
older than me, turns out lives three doors down from
my parents.

Speaker 3 (29:20):
I grew up right next to her.

Speaker 1 (29:21):
It's so creepy, isn't it.

Speaker 4 (29:23):
I said, I'm pretty sure trigger treated at your house
for like fifteen years, and she's.

Speaker 3 (29:28):
Like, yup.

Speaker 2 (29:29):
It's just insane to think about like all those little,
you know, nuanced meetings.

Speaker 3 (29:34):
That you have, breaking the matrix.

Speaker 1 (29:36):
It feels that way for sure.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
Man, go down a black hole about that on the internet.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
What is your crazy small world moment? We got the
conversation going on Facebook A's West Michigan Star.

Speaker 3 (29:49):
Sometime does that get a good feeling?

Speaker 1 (29:53):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (29:54):
I see that sun trying to break out on this
hot looking Tuesday. But we have got you feeling good
right now? What's going on?

Speaker 4 (30:00):
A really special day yesterday for a seven year old
Detroit boy had to do his first day of school
with a pretty amazing escort. Seven year old Yosef Sayid
lives in Melvindale. It's a summer right outside of Detroit
headed into his first day of school, unfortunately without his

(30:21):
older brother Mo. Melvindale police officer Mohammed Zaid was shot
and killed in the line of duty back in July.
Tributes have continued pouring into the twenty six year old
officer and it was very important to him to make
sure he was there on that first day of school.
So it's Officer Sayed's fellow brothers and sisters in arms
that took up the opportunity to make that first day

(30:42):
extra special.

Speaker 3 (30:44):
Yusef not only walked in with.

Speaker 4 (30:45):
A complete police escort, but also got a very special
flyover as he headed into Allendale Elementary And this is
Allendale on the east side of the state. It was
an incredible moment. Pictures have been shared with a happy look.
Older brother Ahmed said that they truly lost a hero,
telling ABC seven, we lost a brother. The whole city

(31:07):
lost someone who cared so much about this, trying to
make the city better, trying to make people's lives better.
And how perfect that his brothers would step up.

Speaker 9 (31:17):
All the officers loved.

Speaker 8 (31:18):
He used to treat a lot of people as his brothers.

Speaker 4 (31:21):
He used to treat a lot of people as his brothers.
He never took anything to heart. Messages around the city,
People that didn't even know Mo would say, oh, I
used to talk with him, have fun with him. He
was truly a hero and luckily seven year old little
brother was not forgotten yesterday. It was a really, really
moving moment. Do you want to see those pictures? I
will put him up on our Instagram at Western Michigan Star.

Speaker 1 (31:42):
All right, schmitty.

Speaker 2 (31:43):
You know that it's been a busy summer for babies
over at john Ball Zoo. But apparently the Detroit Zoo
was getting in on the fund too, because they just
welcomed their first baby guerrilla born at the zoo in
the zoo's history in ninety six years they have never
had a gorilla born at the Detroit Zoo, but that
changed in the last couple of.

Speaker 1 (32:03):
Weeks as a little baby.

Speaker 2 (32:05):
Gorilla girl was born. And here's the cool part. Now
you get a chance to actually name her. They're doing
a naming contest, Bitty, So I'm gonna run through these
five names for you real quick.

Speaker 1 (32:14):
You tell me which one you like.

Speaker 2 (32:15):
Okay, I got Usla, a mateka Umbray, Lobiki, and Madama.

Speaker 3 (32:24):
I'd love to know the meanings behind the name.

Speaker 2 (32:26):
Well, I can tell you that it is forest. For Usula,
it is history for Amateca, Umbre means first in the
Knyrwanda language, Lobiki is the national park in Cameroon, and
Madama means hearts you like Usla, you think you like
Usula kind of rolls off the tongue there. But cool
part is is that when you pick a name, ten
dollars is actually donated to the Safe which is Saving

(32:49):
Animals from Extinction program. So all those funds for naming
the name go to help other animals, and the name
that gets the most donations is the one that will
ultimately be the name for this young gorilla, Which is
really cool because somebody could just go in and make
a massive donation and name the gorilla whatever they watch.

Speaker 1 (33:06):
I like that.

Speaker 2 (33:07):
I'll put the link up for you West Michigan start
dot com. And of course we're here to bring positivity
to you every day with feeling good. We'll do it
tomorrow too, six forty five and nine twenty here on
Star win oh five point seven Mack and Schmidty in
