Speaker 1 (00:02):
Wakem It gets my day going.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
It makes me laugh.
Speaker 1 (00:09):
I of it.
Speaker 3 (00:10):
Mac and Schmitty in the morning on Star one O
five point seven. Well, good mona Schmitty and so much
more importantly, Happy frid Yeah, take.
Speaker 4 (00:17):
A d breath in because it's not just any Friday.
It's a Friday ahead of that labor day weekend. We're
hopefully you're doing absolutely no laboring at all.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
That's the idea, right, that we just get to relax.
But let's not pretend that holiday weekends in and of
itself can sometimes be work Schmitty or feel like work
labor if you will, I guess is appropriate.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
For this week I mean I'll be working this weekend.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
You will work on this weekend. I'm here on Monday.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
Hey, last night you weren't working though. How was How
was your first Rockford Rams football game? Unbelievable?
Speaker 4 (00:50):
Unbelievable castech came in from Detroit. It came down to gosh,
I want to say, maybe eight seconds. They were like
fourth down, four yards from a touchdown that would have
tied it and taken it into overtime. Unbelievable atmosphere, and
I think it was that way across a lot of
West Michigan.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
People were stoked for high school football to be back.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
I actually was at Forest Hill Central because my daughter
was playing in her first softball game of the season
last night. And I also got the w by the way,
but it's right next to the football stadium where they
were playing Ree Spuffer last night, Smitty, and like you
could hear the announcers, you could hear people screaming. I mean,
football season in full swing and people are clearly excited.
(01:30):
And tonight you get the Spartans to watch.
Speaker 5 (01:32):
Again, Snchman, movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 4 (01:42):
We'll start with the surprising divorce news yesterday, former scientologist
and reality star Leah Remedy.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
Is leaving husband Angelo.
Speaker 4 (01:52):
They are officially divorcing after twenty eight years together, more
than twenty years of those married. Li says a lot
of thought and care went into the decision to end
their marriage. They realized they had changed as individuals and
they're tired of playing roles that don't fit them anymore.
She's only really going public with this because she said
(02:13):
their marriage has been very public remember her TLC reality series,
It's all relative.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Angelo, your wife has snapped? Are you kidding me?
Speaker 3 (02:23):
Stopping your sixty five year old mother from getting a
tram stamp as micromanaging.
Speaker 4 (02:28):
They also filmed a bunch of each one specials as
husband and wife. She says that everything is going to
stay very amicable though they still have a very close connection.
They're going to remain very strong as friends. No child
custody or support issues here. They have one daughter, she's
now twenty, so this should be a pretty clean cut,
dry kind of legal situation.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
Which is good. And Nan divorces Yapata goeh like he was.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
Right by her for all that Scientology stuff.
Speaker 3 (02:55):
It's crazy. That was my question though, if they've been
married for twenty years in you know, and together for
TI twenty eight. Was he also somebody who had to
leave Scientology? Was that?
Speaker 2 (03:03):
I don't know if it is as well scientology or now.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
I thought the whole thing was like you couldn't associate
with people outside of it.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
But surprise engagement news as Justin Threaux has apparently popped
the question. Jennifer Aniston's acts. I'm sorry I had to
say it to paint the picture is officially engaged to
actress Nicole Brydon Bloom. According to People Magazine, the Beetlejuice
Beetlejuice star actually proposed in Italy. They're actually on scene
(03:31):
promoting the movie that the Venice Film Festival. Looks like
he took advantage of that nice little overseas work trip
to find the perfect moment. Of course, these rumors started
swirling late Wednesday early Thursday because there were a few
pictures on the red carpet where Nicole looked to be
rocking a massive rock on that very important finger. And
(03:53):
if you believe People magazine, it's official they'll be getting married.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
I loved him in the Leftover, Smindy. My question is
is it like after you date or in his case,
married to Jennifer Aniston, do you feel like once you've
broken up, people have written you off? Like I feel
that way that people love Jennifer Aniston so much of
that justin Threau, No.
Speaker 4 (04:11):
No, I think everybody because they did. They remain such
good friends. They hang out all the time. You constantly
see like she babysits his dog. I think that Justine's good. Finally,
Netflix dropping the news yesterday a new documentary series about
Vince McMahon is coming out. This will be really interesting.
It will chronicle the rise and fall of the WWE's
(04:34):
controversial founder. It is set to premiere September twenty fifth.
It will include interviews with McMahon himself prior to his resignation.
They're going to talk to his family, some of the
most iconic names in wrestling history, and it will include
journalists who uncovered the pretty salacious allegations against Vince McMahon.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
Here's what really caught my attention.
Speaker 4 (04:58):
Chris Smith is executing of producing this, and he did
Tiger King, so you know it's gonna be good. All
of you are CELEBSCU but West Michigan's.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
Side sometimes because I get a good feeling thanks for
being with us. This born in Mack and Schmidty on
Star Wino five points see having us. We're gearing up
for this holiday weekend. I'm looking outside right now, Schmitty.
It's it's purple outside right now.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
It looks a little apocalypse.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
It does look a little strange out at the moment
right now, if you're out on the roads, kind of
a wild color read. I want to get to this
story because It's a shout out to somebody who has
been given their all for kids here in West Michigan
for forty seven years. Over at Hamilton High School, Chuck Bruker.
He has been the janitor of the custodian there for
(05:45):
forty seven years, Schmidty. And the craziest part about that
is it's the same high school that Chuck graduated from.
He is a long time resident there. Went to Hamilton Elementary,
then Hamilton Middle, graduated Hamilton High and that's where he
spent the next forty seven years as their beloved custodian.
(06:07):
And yesterday morning, things started out like any other morning.
He was sweeping the cafeteria before the lunch rush, and
that's when he made a big announcement to the entire
lunch room. Check this out. This is Chuck telling everybody
it was time to say goodbye Sacha. Cool story. Chuck
(06:42):
not only went to that high school, but his three
grandsons also the go to that school. He says, that's
one reason I love this job. Whenever they see me,
theyll Grandpa, and it touches me. It makes my day
when they I am known as Grandpa. And yesterday they
made an incredibly special day. First, those grandson presented him
with his very own Hamilton varsity football jersey with the
(07:04):
number forty seven on it for the years of his
service there. And then as he made that entire, that
entire speech about his retirement to the lunch room he said,
he sat in there for the entire time, getting high
fives and knuckles from every single student who was just
there to wish him well. So to Chuck Brooker, thank
you so much for helping kids here in West Michigan.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
All right, let's get those US eight chants ready. The
twenty twenty four Paralympic Games kicked off in Paris just
a couple days.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
Ago, and five athletes with.
Speaker 4 (07:34):
Some pretty cool ties to gr are going for the goal.
Para triathlete Grace Norman, Paris cyclist Kate Brimm, hamp cyclist Mattingley,
wheelchair basketball player John Boy and goal ball player Tyler
Maren all representing Team USA.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
But I think even.
Speaker 4 (07:53):
Cooler they are also all alumni of Mary FREEBD Rehabilitation Hospital.
Athletes have spent time with specialty programs at Mary Free
BED and are back to feeling like themselves because of it.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
It's really cool stuff.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
Christy Van Haveer is a recreational therapist and sports coordinator.
And Mary free Bed and they're all just so proud
to watch.
Speaker 6 (08:16):
These are really talented athletes. You know, this is not
what people expect it to be and it brings light
to you know, how talented these athletes are, or how
hard they've worked.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
Some would argue harder.
Speaker 6 (08:30):
You know, they're playing the same basketball game that we
play as able bodied, but they have to operate their
wheelchair as well.
Speaker 4 (08:36):
Yeah, she tells what they love it and even more importantly,
they're the example of I can do this, I can
do anything. So Brim and Tingley are the newbies in
the group. As for Brim, headed to hurt third. This
will be boys' second Paralympics. But Tyler Marin, a Greenville native,
competing in his fifth Paralympic games in goalball.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
So a good time. Schedules up West Michigan, Star dot Com.
Speaker 5 (09:03):
Movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
It's the celebrity scoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 4 (09:10):
This was breaking scoop last night Dancing with the Stars.
Pro artem chug vincev has been arrested on charges of
domestic violence he performed on the hit show for twelve seasons.
Here's him with Heidi Dmilio.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
Johnson December with a Patner antem Chig Vince. It's Heidi Damelia.
Speaker 4 (09:34):
This is definitely an ever changing story. So he was
booked on a charge of felony domestic violence, apparently a
nine when one call came in around ten am yesterday
reporting the violence. Bond said at twenty five thousand, and
he was released yesterday afternoon. Now, being booked does not
mean he has been formally charged. The Napa County District
(09:56):
Attorney's office will file any charges once the investigation has wrapped.
So far, the alleged victim has been open to talking
with investigators, and cops are spending more time figuring out
if there's actually been any history of domestic violence here.
Law enforcement wants the alleged victim to help them determine
if there's a history or worse, that he's been involved
(10:18):
in other incidences. Ardam is married to Nicky Garcia, but
are known as WWE star Nicky Bella. However, the name
of the alleged victim is being withheld. Also being told
there's other witnesses in this case, so the investigation is ongoing.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
Well, and that's a big name in wrestling, right there,
huge name. So just curious that you said they're married. Correct.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
Yeah, they've got like a reality show and everything.
Speaker 3 (10:45):
Again, I'm interesting. Okay.
Speaker 4 (10:47):
Tom Hanks is warning against AI and duping you online.
He actually just posted this Instagram overnight saying there are
multiple ads over the internet falsely using my name, likeness,
even my voice, promoting miracle cures and wonder drugs. These
ads have been created without my consent, fraudulently and through AI.
(11:12):
I have nothing to do with these posts, these products,
these treatments, or any of the spokespeople touting these cures. Listen,
I have Type two diabetes and I only work with
my board certified doctor regarding my treatment. Do not be fooled,
Do not be swindled, Do not lose your hard earned money.
Apparently there are quite a few people that have now
(11:34):
been taken advantage by these AI actors and actresses, and
this is kind of the only way they can get
the word out.
Speaker 7 (11:42):
And Tom is not happy about this. Reportedly, well, no,
Kenny didn't Tom. We trust is Americans. I feel like
tom Ax's are sweet art and so you see something
with his name or his voice. It's gonna get your
attention if nothing else.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
Do we need to like take a second here, Please
don't trust anything on.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
The internet yet. Nothing's real anymore.
Speaker 4 (11:58):
Nobody's gonna reach out for you to ask for money
or messages.
Speaker 2 (12:02):
And I know that you might love Tom Hanks.
Speaker 4 (12:04):
I guarantee he is not going to personally DM you
and try to get you to take like some kind
of weird medicine.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
I promise that's not happening. So this is a big
time game this evening.
Speaker 4 (12:15):
If you want to catch Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese
in action, hopefully you've got a pretty nice bank account.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
This is incredible.
Speaker 4 (12:26):
Game Time is an app that helps fans find last
minute tickets and the average price to get into win
Trust Arena tonight for the Indiana Chicago game one thousand,
forty five dollars UH ticket. That's the average price to
get a premium seat. The app says you could pay
more than two thousand dollars a seat. This is not surprising,
(12:49):
of course, there has been so much i'd say slander
high promotion around these two players. They've paced off once before,
but this is going to be a big game tonight.
If you want to go a little cheaper, you can
literally sit in the nose bleeds where you have almost
no view whatsoever, and that's only going to cost you
one hundred and fifty a seats.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
I just love that. This is This is magic Johnson,
Larry Bird, this is Carmelo, Anthony Lebron James. When they
came out as yeah, highly voltab.
Speaker 4 (13:16):
Only better because it's women, only better because it's women.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
This is incredible.
Speaker 4 (13:22):
You can check that out with all your scoop at
West Michigan Star Doc.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
I'm one to two Mac and Schmidty and West Michigan
and Billly High schools across the nation back into the
swing of football. Schmidty.
Speaker 4 (13:33):
Yeah, because we did not play a West Michigan team
last night. We played a Detroit team, cash Tech.
Speaker 8 (13:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
I mean when I think of cash Tech, I think
about all like the Division IE players that come out
of that school constantly they're in Detroit, and so you know,
the Rockford Rams are no pushoverers, and last night they
proved that. And then so yeah, I got.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
This from my husband, so hit him if it's not true.
Speaker 4 (13:55):
I believe preseason rankings had Muskegan number one in the state,
Rockford number three in the state, and so it was
pretty incredible if you guys are aware. We moved to
Rockford a few months ago and one of the things
my husband was super excited about was high school football.
And I grew up and went to a high school.
We didn't even have a football field at Lansing Catholic.
(14:17):
I don't think we got a football field until maybe
five eight years after I graduated. Yeah, we used to
play our home games at Sexton. We have to go
to a different school and play our home games. We
didn't have a football field. And it's interesting too, because
going to a Catholic high school, I'm sure it's very
similar here. It's not necessarily like the pillar of community
(14:39):
in the sense that you have kids from everywhere. I
went to school with kids from grand Ledge to Lancing
Howell Brighton like versus how my husband grew up and
he was in Haslt And it's like Farriday night is
businesses close early, everybody is out there tailgating like it is.
Speaker 2 (14:59):
It is just an a absolute this is sac.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
This is not the Hoosiers of like nineteen.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
Six, but they not they legit.
Speaker 3 (15:08):
Yeah, Oh my gosh, that's crazy.
Speaker 4 (15:09):
Absolutely, yeah, we will be getting calls from people that
are like, you clearly did not go to a school
that was really good at football, because yes, sir, the
signs on all of their businesses are like, go whatever
mascot your school is.
Speaker 2 (15:23):
So I didn't really have.
Speaker 4 (15:24):
Much of that experience, I'll be honest. And so we
went to the Rockford game last night. It was our
very first one, and I saw an entirely different side
of Chris, Like he lives for high school football.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
Did it take off his shirt?
Speaker 2 (15:39):
He loved it. Didn't take off a shirt.
Speaker 4 (15:40):
But like, we got there an hour ahead of kickoff
so that we could like stake out our seats because
we knew it was going to be a packed game.
A ton of people came over from Detroit. It was
a huge matchup. We staked on our seats. Like as
soon as we walked in the Booster club was there
like giving out pom poms. He immediately like got the
kids pom poms. We had Will and his Rockford shirt.
I had Sophia in her black and orange bows and
(16:03):
we're sitting there.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
And he is so amped.
Speaker 4 (16:06):
He's like walking through all of the warm ups with
Will that they're doing and at one point he just
turns to me and he goes, Jo's just.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
Sea, babe. What a sense of community? Like this guy
is all about it.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
He was.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
He was like hyping the band.
Speaker 4 (16:23):
He was super stoked to see the Marching Band preview
their twenty twenty four show.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
Did he play? He was a high school football player.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
He played freshman to senior year. He was a linebacker.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
Okay, so this is glory days kind of stuff, right,
He's bringing it right back.
Speaker 2 (16:38):
It was so cute and I'm like, you, I feel
like somehow you need to get involved in this, like
I don't know what.
Speaker 4 (16:45):
And he's like, oh no, I wasn't that And god,
like they didn't really have tryouts for our team.
Speaker 2 (16:48):
Everybody got somebody's.
Speaker 3 (16:49):
Got to bring pizza functions.
Speaker 4 (16:52):
He was just it was so cute, and he's like
high fiving people around us. He's meeting different he's figuring
out you know who so and so is, and you
know what they do for a living, and he's getting
like kids' names that our kids can hang out with.
I have I've known Chris since two thousand and six.
I have never seen him in a high school football
(17:13):
setting and it was the cutest thing ever. We eventually
went to the standing area so that the kids could
like play on the hill and get some energy out.
And it's the end of the third quarter and I'm like,
it's like eight thirty, you know, I gotta go to work.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
Kids got and he did not want to leave. So
we ended up getting home.
Speaker 3 (17:31):
Their little separation between the teams and we can go
if it's close, though, so.
Speaker 4 (17:35):
We get home and then he's so annoyed because it
did get really close. It was, I mean the end
of the game last night. It was probably like eight
seconds to go. They're four yards from the end zone
on the fourth down to tie it and take it
to overtime. And I can hear him in our bedroom.
He found some online stream of the game. He's like,
I told you we shouldn't a laugh. He was so involved,
(17:58):
and I just I think it's so cute.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
I've never had an experience.
Speaker 4 (18:02):
Like that, And walking in with mister high school football
schmitty over there was a brand new thing.
Speaker 3 (18:08):
I'm just gonna ask, because your kids will not be
in high school for quite some time. Yeah, all right,
And if he continues with this passion of his When
does it go from cute to concerning for you? Is
this gonna be something you fight attractive for a long
time or is this gonna get old real fast?
Speaker 2 (18:21):
For Oh, I'm fighting attractive.
Speaker 4 (18:23):
I actually thought it was really I thought it was
so cute, it was super super attractive.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
He's just so it was. He was so involved. I
can't wait.
Speaker 4 (18:29):
Like we're probably going to have like the ram flag
hanging from our house.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
At some point in the I'm so jealous of you
and him because I don't think my wife has ever
once found me attractive. While I've been rooting for a
football team effort.
Speaker 4 (18:40):
Put the entire schedule in our family calendar. Oh every Friday,
I know exactly who we're matched up to play. I
feel like we're going to be traveling at some point, like.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
Call it your husband, Billy Bob, I feel like moving woeah,
because he's got some Friday the lights vibes to him
for sure.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
No.
Speaker 4 (18:56):
I put up a cute video though, of our hype
squad on our Instagram at West Chigan Star Mack.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
And Schmidty in the morning on Star one oh five
point seven, Still in.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
Se Tay Time Spill the too sweetheart.
Speaker 3 (19:09):
That is what I do, but don't call me sweetheart. Okay,
tea time on Star one oh five points seven. It's
Mack and Schmitty and I saw this message come in Schmitty,
and I was actually really excited to hear your take
on this. I wanted to hear a woman's perspective on
what this guy is going through. Okay, uh, do you
think he's been friend zoned and being used at this point? Hey,
Mack and Schmidty, wanted to tell you about my best
(19:30):
friend's dating dilemma disaster. My friend Scott is the nicest
human being on the planet, too nice, and he's been
put in the friend zone by a woman he's dating,
but he does not see it yet. He has now
gone on eight dates with this woman and they have
yet to kiss or even hold hands. There is no
religious reason for this. Both in their thirties. They met
(19:52):
on a dating app. She's divorced and he's been in
a few serious relationships. So these are two adults looking
for romance. I told him after the fourth date it
was a little odd they hadn't kissed, But after the
sixth date I told him it was straight up weird.
At this point, he said he was going to make
his move soon. Now they've been on eight dates and
neither of them has brought it up. Is this normal?
(20:12):
Or is this woman using my friend for free dates
and meals?
Speaker 2 (20:18):
Eight dates is a lot okay?
Speaker 3 (20:21):
As a woman, if a guy you're dating a guy,
you're in your thirties, you're not You're not like opposed to,
you know, a kissing a guy. There's no like hang
ups like that for you. And he is on date
three and is not even so much as attempted to
hold your hands yet, do you find it odd? Do
you even think he's into you at that point?
Speaker 4 (20:39):
I actually think it's me, Like I'm the problem right now.
You're putting me into this anxious position. I gotta tell you, Scott,
you're not getting a ninth date.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
I think he is. I think he'll get as many
dates as he wants because she is. She's found a
gravy train like sugar Daddy.
Speaker 2 (20:57):
With the show for spending.
Speaker 4 (20:59):
I don't know, it's just you know what I know
now that's not worth that ain't worth dinner. I'm gonna
speak for maybe some, if not most, of the women
out there. I think maybe at this point, she's hanging
on to see if she's gonna be part of some
Netflix documentary.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
Because this guy sounds like a serial killer.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
How is this his fault? I'm like, I think it's
right weird, Okay, so I don't know. I think you
get to like date four, date five, Like, you gotta
think she's talking to her friends about it, right, You
got to assume that she's got a like a bff
that she's like, I don't know. He doesn't even trying
to kiss me. It's a weird thing.
Speaker 2 (21:34):
Maybe dating's not for him, Like maybe he's just why
are you.
Speaker 3 (21:38):
Putting it on the guy? I didn't see it going this.
Speaker 2 (21:40):
Year yet he sounds he asked her out.
Speaker 4 (21:43):
And it's like, you gotta you know, part of the
maybe chivalrous side of things is to to take charge.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
And it didn't even hold a hand.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
I feel like you need to send your friend a
movie and it's, uh, she's just not that into you. Man,
go for that waiting on this week tea time at
to West Michigan Star and you got any good gossip
that you're seeing in your life, send it our way again.
You can hit us up on Facebook. Will keep you
anonymous to tea time every Friday here on Star.
Speaker 5 (22:13):
Movies, Music, and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 3 (22:16):
It's the Celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 4 (22:21):
Well, Brettany Mahomes, a wife of Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes,
is shaken off the haters, and she says her husband
is the one that has taught her how to ignore
social media trolls. She's gotten some renewed backlash over her
public support of former President Donald Trump, explaining on the
Whoop podcast that it's her husband's advice. That's been a
(22:45):
very nice leader.
Speaker 1 (22:47):
I think the main thing that you know, he always
told me is like stop caring about what people think,
especially the people that don't even know you. And so
I think social media used to get to me a lot,
and now it's just like I don't give up at
what people have to say about me anymore. And I
think he's helped me get to that point to where
you know, I'm strong and who I am. I'm confident
(23:08):
in who I am. I'm confident in mine and his relationship,
and I'm confident in our life. So why does you
know what other people say have to matter at all?
Speaker 4 (23:17):
Yeah, There's also been quite a few users commenting on
what this means for her and Taylor Swift's friendship. Of course,
Taylor has been pretty vocal in support of different Democratic
nominees throughout recent years. According to sources, the two respect
that they have different views and have made kind of
(23:38):
a political pact to just entirely avoid discussing politics. Taylor
is not going to be written into this anti Brittany
narrative because they've made.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
A pack to not discuss politics.
Speaker 4 (23:49):
They both know it can tear apart friendships, and they
respect that they have different views and they don't want
that to happen.
Speaker 3 (23:54):
So essentially, what we've all had to do with friends
and family over the last like eight years.
Speaker 4 (23:58):
Or so, some of us us probably more successfully than others.
Speaker 2 (24:02):
Speaking of Taylor, Swift still.
Speaker 4 (24:04):
Very much on boyfriend Travis Kelsey's mind. He brought her
up even at a Kansas City preview yesterday on stage
last night with Patrick Mahomes and a few other Chiefs stars.
It was the team's annual kickoff luncheon at the Loews
Hotel in Kansas City. As host of the event, the
Voice of the Chiefs mitche Holfus talked about how much
(24:27):
love he had for everyone on stage, before wondering how
deeply Travis's love goes.
Speaker 3 (24:32):
And let me just say this personally, it's the one
chance I get to do this publicly of just how
much I love these guys, all of them. We love you,
We love you, thanks, thank you, thank you.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
Uh you love me more than Taylor.
Speaker 3 (24:45):
Maybe not.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
It was a really sweet moment. I love when he
brings Taylor up. That's just me.
Speaker 3 (24:52):
I just wish he was dating a lion. I just
want to talk about lions. I'm saying this super Bowl
winning Kansas City Chiefs get out of here.
Speaker 2 (24:57):
Finally.
Speaker 4 (24:58):
Post Malone is really dig in this new country side
of him. Got a little snake peek of a new
music video in full country mode alongside Dwight Yok. I'm
actually riding horseback through Hollywood yesterday shooting his new music video.
It sounds pretty good. I really enjoy country post Malone.
(25:37):
The duo was filmed going horseback across big staples like
the Roxy on Sunset Boulevard, and the music video is
stucked with cameos. Nina do'brava will be a part of this.
Sean White Maelan Ackerman was also on set. It's gonna
be real good. By the way, he seems to be
loving this as much as Country is Love and him
(25:58):
that album number one on the bill chart.
Speaker 3 (26:00):
Not only there, it's number one on the Wrap chart,
it's number one on the pop chart.
Speaker 7 (26:04):
It is number one everywhere. He's like the first artist
to ever do this post Malone. Every album he's dropped
has been unbelievable. I've got that peak for you if
you want to see him in.
Speaker 4 (26:14):
Some glittery fringe with your scoop West Michigan Star dot
Com showing a.
Speaker 3 (26:20):
Five point seven Mack and Smitty gonna throw down on
the Friday morning for your chance to have a blast
with the kids Battle of the Sexist Time. We're looking
for the top answer for you to go see some
action Hot.
Speaker 4 (26:29):
Wheels, Monster Trucks Live bringing the Globe party to Vanndel.
Here we go the number one answer and we've got
four tickets for the fam. One hundred men surveyed if
you could have any superpower, what would it be?
Speaker 3 (26:42):
I mean, any of them is really hard to go with.
I mean, I.
Speaker 4 (26:46):
Feel like this is what you would be on an
adult back to school talk board, right, like all the
kids always write what their superpower would be? Yes, mine
would be to make myself look entirely presentable in under
five seconds.
Speaker 8 (26:59):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (26:59):
A lot about a.
Speaker 4 (27:00):
Fast changer like close makeup, hair, tuck the love handles
in and shoot me out.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
The door way.
Speaker 3 (27:07):
It's like Jennifer Lawrence in X Men, where she can
shape shift into any clothes or any person that you
will hunts. But for you, instead of being like a
blue person underneath, it's just you right out of bed
with real panther.
Speaker 2 (27:18):
Thanks true, here's my superpower?
Speaker 4 (27:20):
Six one, six, four, five eight, one oh five seven
caller seven, first chance of the number one answer. One
hundred men surveyed if you could have any superpower, what
would it be?
Speaker 2 (27:30):
And you could be.
Speaker 4 (27:30):
Seeing Monster Trucks Live with Star winnow five point seven
Horn and Star.
Speaker 3 (27:35):
Who's this? Joshere are you calling from today?
Speaker 1 (27:38):
My friend?
Speaker 7 (27:39):
Right?
Speaker 3 (27:39):
Josh, let's see here. You got any big plans for
your labor that weekend?
Speaker 6 (27:43):
Oh no, I am.
Speaker 3 (27:44):
Let's help make some plans for one of these September
weekends coming up. Josh with Hot Wheels, Monster Truck Live.
Hundred guys were asked, Josh, if you could have any superpower,
what would it be? What would was their top answer?
Do you think I'll be super super strength? Yeah, I'll
throw super strength under invisibility or excuse me, invincibility, And
(28:08):
that is the number two most common answer. Sorry, Josh, Thanks,
Hi star. Who's this?
Speaker 6 (28:14):
This is Carrie from Kentwood.
Speaker 3 (28:16):
Carrie from Kentwood? Are you ready for hopefully a long
labor day weekend?
Speaker 1 (28:19):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (28:20):
We're on our waist north.
Speaker 3 (28:21):
Now where are you going up? North? Oh? That's a
good spot right there, for sure. I like it. Well,
let's see if we can make this a happy road
trip for you. You gotta tell me, Carrie A hunter. Guys
were asked if you could have any superpower, what would
it be? Josh was just on the line and his
guest was super strength, invincibility. That was the number two
(28:43):
most common answer. Though, so what do you think it is?
Speaker 5 (28:48):
My husband said fly?
Speaker 3 (28:50):
Your husband said fly.
Speaker 5 (28:52):
Yes, I usually don't have himpare to healthy, but he
said fly.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
You know. In today's question was asked of one hundred dudes,
and you know what he gave. He gave the men
answer fly is the top answer flying, followed by invincibility,
then super speed, laser vision and shape shifting your top
five answers. You know what, your husband, he's a good guy.
You know, you should give him a back rub something
(29:16):
like that, because he's really got it, got it going
on for you, not to mention, are you also driving
that vehicle right now, sir driving? You know, look at
this multitasking. He's driving the family and he's getting the
trivia questions, right. I love it. Congratulations, guys, you're going
to Hot Wheelsponster Truck Live. Why you are so welcome
(29:38):
and we will hopefully be doing it again for you
before the big show September fourteenth and fifteenth Battle of
the Sexus. Every weekday you're on Star Save Travels.
Speaker 8 (29:46):
Guys, it's back and Schmitty and yes, we are heading
into a nice, hopefully long holiday weekend.
Speaker 3 (29:56):
Labor Day is pon Us and step Me road trips, right,
and a lot of people gonna hit the roads. Triple
A says that I feel like every single.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
Toddlers are driving cars now.
Speaker 3 (30:07):
It's crazy how it's always more than ever, right, But
I wanted to know what you feel is the worst
part about gearing up for a holiday weekend road trips Mandy,
because I think a lot of people would instantly say traffic,
as we've seen Eve do on this Facebook post We've
got at West Michigan sty right now, or maybe packing.
I can see whether that's annoying, especially if you've got kids,
(30:28):
young kids like you. I mean, the number of stuff
that babies and toddlers have to bring everywhere, super crazy
loading the car, that's my time to shine as a dad.
Speaker 8 (30:38):
You know.
Speaker 3 (30:38):
Yeah, I'm really really good at that. But I submit
to you, the worst part of any road trip is
actually just getting in the car.
Speaker 2 (30:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (30:49):
It makes me so frustrated when we say we are
leaving by X time, and I always say the time
to my family a half an hour than when I actually.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
We stopped saying the time entirely.
Speaker 3 (31:03):
And that's maybe that's the way to do it. But
it's not even about the time, because ultimately I will
ask my kids four hundred and fifty times whether or
not they have everything that they need for the weekends.
We'll run through checklists and everything else, yep, and then
inevitably we get into the we're about to get into
the car, and they start going like, oh, where's my headphones?
(31:23):
Oh where's this? You mean the stuff that we've been
talking about for the last four hours while we've been
getting ready.
Speaker 2 (31:29):
What are we doing? Do you want to know?
Speaker 4 (31:31):
The greatest hack I ever saw in real life one
of my best friends, Amanda, she has a six year
old and twin three year olds. Okay, and they put everything, yeah, exactly,
they put everything in the car. Everything is packed, Her
kids get put into the car seats, and then she
gets ready and packs herself. No one's allowed to move
(31:54):
if you haven't figured it out by the time we leave.
The time, it's incredible. I watched what has happened when
we took our family trip with them last summer.
Speaker 3 (32:02):
I don't even know if that's legal.
Speaker 4 (32:04):
It was the greatest husband sitting in the driver's seat,
AC's going and she's like, all I'm going side and
get ready.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
I said, what's she going?
Speaker 3 (32:10):
Hilarious?
Speaker 4 (32:11):
This is the greatest thing. It has changed our lives.
We never forget anything. The kids are never without what
they need because they have the ten minutes I give
myself to actually get ready, impact to figure it out,
and then we're out of there and nobody can say
a word.
Speaker 3 (32:24):
That's an impressive move right there. I did not consider
locking my wife and children in there.
Speaker 2 (32:29):
She's an impressive mob.
Speaker 3 (32:30):
Well, I get ready on you.
Speaker 2 (32:32):
You've clearly never been a mom to twins.
Speaker 3 (32:33):
I might have to try that today.
Speaker 5 (32:40):
Sometime.
Speaker 3 (32:41):
Does I get a good feeling? It's Friday, hopefully heating
into a long holiday weekend. Lots to put a smile
on your face right now. But we'll add to that,
all right, feeling good on Starlinal five point seven. It's
macka smiddy. You know.
Speaker 4 (32:53):
Fifty years is a long time to do anything. Fifty
years is a long time to teach. And it was
quite the celebration for Forest Hill's Central Middle School Social
Studies teacher Larry de Boor see earlier this week. It
wasn't just the first day of school. It was the
first day of his fiftieth year of teaching, most of
(33:16):
which has been at Forest Hills Central Middle School. This
has been such an accomplishment. He says he got into
teaching because he actually wanted to coach, and now one
of his daughters happens to be a teacher as well.
De Boor has completely embraced this passion of his. It
is so important and he's got that age old wisdom.
(33:41):
Emily Lennard from Wood TV got to sit down with
him and talk about how it feels to have been
teaching for fifty years.
Speaker 3 (33:47):
How do you feel like it's five years?
Speaker 2 (33:51):
Really?
Speaker 1 (33:52):
Oh? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (33:53):
I mean they say that if you find something that
you love to do, he'll never work a day in
your life.
Speaker 5 (33:59):
And I simply just love to come to.
Speaker 4 (34:01):
Her and everyone around him loves him coming to work
as well. Deboor has even put community service into his teaching.
He requires his kids to put in volunteer hours. And
when you hear teaching for fifty years, you might also
think retirement. Not for mister de bore no signs of
slowing down or changing a thing.
Speaker 2 (34:23):
Telling Wood.
Speaker 4 (34:24):
As long as I'm healthy and as long as I'm
enjoying what I'm doing, I truly believe that's the key.
So congratulations mister de Boer, fifty years of teaching. Man
Forest Hills is real lucky to have you.
Speaker 3 (34:36):
I mean, Go Rangers. But I can't even fathom that
Schmidty since nineteen seventy four.
Speaker 4 (34:42):
This is something I ran into with my mom as well.
He is teaching the kids of his former students.
Speaker 3 (34:48):
Yeah, that's how my mom was thirty three years fifty.
I can't even.
Speaker 4 (34:50):
Don't have parent teacher conferences, and they're still like hi,
mister Debor, and he's probably like, you know, you're like forty.
Speaker 3 (34:55):
Now it's okay, slightly awkward, all right. There are first
impressions and then they're our first impressions, and this one
is pretty insane. Ata Kroger. In Texas, Shane Condon was
on his very first day of work, but he was
not so concerned about stocking schelmser making sure that the
produce section was okay. Instead, he saw a fellow employee
(35:18):
go down in cardiac arrest and sprang into action again
his first day on the job. He doesn't even know
any of his employees yet, but Ray Choda collapsed from
a heart attack, went into cardiac arrest. Another employee called
nine to one one, and when the operator said, does
anyone know CPR? While Shane hadn't done it in years
(35:40):
and years and years, he said, he immediately decided that
he would do this for this man that he did
not know. So he performed CPR on Ray for about
four minutes until paramedics arrived, but he was able to
get him breathing again. While he was the one giving CPR.
Well flash forward, Jody doesn't even remember this happening. They
(36:03):
were talking to CBS about what a miracle this all was.
Speaker 4 (36:07):
So I went out to get some more tools and
walking back in and started feeling weak.
Speaker 3 (36:14):
And that's the last I know.
Speaker 4 (36:18):
Until I walk up from the hospital. I was I
was really really worried that that I had done more
harm than good because I had never done that before.
Speaker 5 (36:25):
But when when I found out that news that he
had survived, I just thank god.
Speaker 3 (36:30):
Yeah, just thank god that he survived and he did.
That was the men's first time ever meeting each other,
was him performing CPR on his coworker. They finally got
the hand of the chance to shake hands just the
other day, as Condon was also presented with an award
for his heroic actions. But what a first day on
the jobs, man, Yeah, feeling good coming at you twice day.
I always want to tell you about something cool going
(36:50):
on out there. Let's do it again. On Monday six
forty five and nine twenty here on Star Win five
seven Mack and Schmidty in the morning weekday starting at
six am on Star one oh five point seven
