Wakem It gets my day going and makes me lab it.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Mac and Schmitty in the Morning on Star one oh
five point seven.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
O good for in Schmitty, My good morning.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Welcome into your Wednesday. Here we are September eleventh, twenty
third anniversary. Of course the terror attacks in two thousand
and one crazy, but every year. I mean, it just
was such a formative event in so many of our
lives that it's just inescapable to go right back to
that desk.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
It's wild that it was twenty three years for those
of us at a certain age, feels like yesterday.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (00:36):
Best way to put it.

Speaker 5 (00:37):
Movies, music and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
It's the Celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Well, you know there will be quite a bit of
political talk today as the first presidential debate went down
last night. But one of the big headlines what was
posted mere hours ago from the one and only Taylor
Swift officially coming out to port Kamala Harris in this
year's presidential election, the singer announcing she is voting for

(01:06):
Harris and running mate Tim Waltz, saying she watched the
debate and recently became aware of a fake AI endorsement
of former President Trump, and wanted to be very transparent
about her plans for the upcoming election. In part, the
lengthy post reads, I will be casting my vote for
Kamala Harris and Tim Waltz. I'm voting for Kamala because

(01:28):
she fights for the rights and causes I believe need
a warrior to champion them. I think she is a
steady handed, gifted leader, and I believe we can accomplish
so much more in this country if we are led
by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and
impressed by her selection of running mate Tim Waltz, who's
been standing up for LGBTQ plus rights, IVF and a

(01:49):
woman's right to her own body for decades. She ends
by saying, I've done my research, and I've made my choice.
Your research is all yours to do, and the choice
is yours to make. With love and hope, Taylor Swift
childless cat Lady. I woke up this morning and just
about everybody I knew was posting that because she dropped
it about midnight after that debate last night.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Somewhere out there, jd Vance is like man the childhood
cat lady. There's a childless cat lady lying really coming
back to bite me.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
Beyonce is talking about bringing her kids on the road
for her record breaking tour, most notably her daughter Blue Ivy,
admitting she never wanted her kids to actually be a
part of the tour. In a new interview with GQ,
she said it was all blues idea blues decision, blues effort.
She says Blue's an artist, she has great taste in

(02:40):
music and fashion. She's an editor, a painter, and actress
who's actually been creating characters since she was three. She
goes on to say she is an absolute natural. But
I didn't want Blue on stage. Blue wanted it for herself.
She took it very seriously and she earned it. Most importantly,
she had fun and we all got to watch her
grow more and more Night before our eyes. Really great interview.

(03:03):
She also talks about the fact that she is not
dropping specific music videos for new album. However, I didn't
see much talk about that CNA snob we had in
the scoop yesterday.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Avoiding that, but being able to work with your kid,
to have them be a part of the tour and everything,
it's got to be such a cool feeling. At the
same time, it gives off those vibes of every very
proud parent that's like, oh, they.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Did it on their own, no help from me whatsoever.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
Finally, this is awesome news for everyone excited for the
new Adam Sandler Happy Gilmore sequel. Bad Bunny just signed
onto the movie. The Rapper will swing into action in
the new directed movie, a follow up, of course, to
the ninety six classic. Bunny is joining a star studded lineup.

(03:50):
Of course, Adam Sandler is back, Julie Bowen is returning
as Virginia, even Christopher McDonald reprising his role as Shooter McGavin.
Production all ready in full swing. Sailor just dropped an
Instagram pick of a hockey jersey with the caption it
ain't over.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
The way I see it, dot dot dot. We've only
just begune.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
But man, everyone involved with this casting crew, it's doing
a really great job of keeping the super under wraps.
Plot details are still super secretive. We don't even know
what role Bad Bunny is going to be playing. We
just know he's super excited to be involved with this.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
I saw I think it was an AI trailer poster
for Billy Madison basically, oh yeah, you brought or whatever,
and I'm like, it's really not that far Fett, I
won't be surprised at all if that happens.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
All of your celeb scoop at West Michigan Star dot com.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Sometimes I get a good feeling. Yeah, let's writing up
this Wednesday morning. It's feeling good right now and starting
on five point seven, macka Smitty with you, and I
want to tell you about a land Sun man. His
name is Woody Yellis And just like about thirty thousand
other people, give us up on Macano Bridge this Labor
Day doing the bridge walk, but for what he that
was only the first five miles and what will ultimately

(05:03):
be a more than two thousand mile walk across the
United States and do it in an interesting way too.
He told Fox seventeen that in the coming weeks he
is going to be crossing the Upper Peninsula before heading
down through the Midwest into the South, and that's where
he will turn west to complete his journey across the
country over two thousand miles. Talking to Fox seventeen, he said,

(05:27):
I've just always had that soul, that inquisitive, wandering soul
sort of a vagabonds. I need to travel to explore.
But of course, you know, months away from your family,
your friends, your job can be a big issue. So
this time he wanted to make this walk about something
a little bit more. He's traveled all over the world,
mostly walking, and he said, the older I get, the

(05:47):
more struggle I see in people and illness. I just
wanted it to be about something bigger than just traveling
this time. So what he's doing is raising funds for
mental health nonprofits that do work across the country, including
right here in Michigan. He's got six of them that
he is going to be donating, initially one thousand bucks
for each one of them. But this journey is all

(06:09):
about bringing others along with him on this ride, and
what he finds is help everywhere he goes, Like after
he crossed into Saying Ignas on Labor Day, he found
a woman who brought him a meal. Another let him
stay at a vacant lake house, a hotel offered him
three nights. Everywhere he goes, people step up to offer
him kindness. And it's those face to face interactions that
he tells Fox seventeen are truly the most eye opening.

Speaker 6 (06:32):
Meeting with people face to face and having face to
face conversations tells you more about a person.

Speaker 7 (06:37):
Than any online opinion.

Speaker 6 (06:39):
Sharing or political conversation online or any of that stuff
could ever teach you. So I think people with all
sorts of different opinions can really still be very similar
to each other.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
Yeah, he's highlighting this journey of course on Facebook, Instagram
and youtobe. But if you want to find out more
about the charities that he's helping or his walk, it's
woodieswalk dot com.

Speaker 8 (06:59):
What do you.

Speaker 4 (06:59):
Want, I went to high school with what he did?

Speaker 3 (07:02):
You really we've been following this journey. Yeah, he's been
doing a bunch of stuff for the past couple of years.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
Well what was he like in high school? Because he
said it, you know, he walked to through Japan and
then went over to Europe.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
And wating good Man, like just good dude. It's really
cool to watch, you know. We've been celebrating the fact
that this month is the fiftieth anniversary of the Neonatal
Intensive Care Unit at Corwell Health's Helen Devas Children's Hospital,
and what better person to share her passion than a

(07:31):
nurse in the NIKU that decades ago was a patient
in the nick You. Our beautiful friend Miranda joined Kristin Lyncher.
She's a nick You registered nurse at Helen Davos. Kristin
knew she wanted to be a nurse for most of
her life, and when given the opportunity to shadow a job,
she found herself at Helen Devas. But check this out.
How cool who she got to learn from.

Speaker 9 (07:54):
It's kind of a crazy but exciting thing. It's fun
to work where I was born. And ironically, when I
first started in the NICQUEU, you get matched with a preceptor,
someone that trains you on the job. And my preceptor
actually had taken care of me.

Speaker 4 (08:12):
As a baby.

Speaker 9 (08:14):
No way, Yeah, yep, so I was precepted by Fay.
I actually brought in some of my baby pictures and
pictures of my parents from the NICKU and she remember taking.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
Care of me.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
Isn't that incredible?

Speaker 3 (08:28):
It just goes to show you the family that's created
in the NICU and she has this to say to parents,
know that we're here to help.

Speaker 9 (08:35):
I was actually given a fifty to fifty chance of
survival when I was born and I've worked here for
now twenty years. So good things come out of this place,
and miracles can.

Speaker 4 (08:45):
Happen, Miracles do happen. You want to see the whole interview.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
It is so incredible, and Kristen, we're so thankful for
your hard work.

Speaker 4 (08:52):

Movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
It's the celebrities group on one five point seven.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
Well, it's not something we hear from Taylor Swift often,
but just hours ago and shortly after last night's presidential debate,
Taylor Swift has officially thrown her support to Kamala Harris
for president. She started in a lengthy Instagram post around
midnight saying she watched the debate, but also recently became
aware of her fake AI endorsement of former President Donald Trump,

(09:25):
saying she wanted to be very transparent about her plans
for the upcoming election, writing in parts, I'm casting my
vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Waltz because she fights
for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior
to champion them. I think she is a steady handed,

her selection of running mate Tim Waltz. I've done my research,
and I've made my choice. Your research is all yours
to do, and the choice is yours to make.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
With love and hope signed Taylor's with Childless cat Lady.
Within minutes.

Speaker 3 (10:04):
A lot of a listers in Hollywood and BFFs of
Taylor could be seen liking and commenting on the post,
including Blake Lively, Selena Gomez, Suki Waterhouse, even her former
bff Carly Kloss, as well as lots of support and
shares from stars like Jennifer Aniston.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
Oprah and Katie Holmes.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
So it'll be interesting to watch because on the other
side of this, you do have Trump supporting Swifties who
believe she is actually secretly a President Trump fan, and
they lay out their saluting online as well.

Speaker 4 (10:34):
It's all for you. At West Michigan Star dot Com.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
Dave Grohl had some really really disappointing news yesterday. We
all thought this guy that'd been married for so many
years was such an incredible family man, but the Foo
Fighters frontman admits to fathering a baby outside of his marriage.
He dropped the bombshell on social media, writing, I've recently

(10:59):
become the father of a new baby daughter born outside
of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and
supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children,
and I'm doing everything I can to regain their trust
and earn their forgiveness. We're grateful for your consideration toward
all the children involved as we move forward together. He

(11:21):
said he plans obviously to be very supportive and a
part of the life of this child, but did not
identify who the woman is, keeping everything else under wraps.
He has also deactivated comments under the post.

Speaker 4 (11:35):
This is just really unfortunate.

Speaker 3 (11:37):
And He's been married to Jordan Bloom since two thousand
and three. They have an eighteen year old daughter, Violet,
a fifteen year old daughter, Harper, and a ten year
old daughter, Ophelia.

Speaker 4 (11:46):
This is gonna be a tough one.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
Yeah, I mean, family dynamics are obviously personal, but at
the same time, you know that's got to be rough
on the kids, everybody involved.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
Well, somebody wrote in the comments, and I haven't been
able to confirm this that at one point one of
his daughters was actually on tour with him and they
were like man, and he's still got a groupie on
the bus.

Speaker 4 (12:04):
That's just too bad, Dave.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
Finally big news as Diddy just took a huge loss
in an assault lawsuit from a man in Michigan. Derek
Lee Cardello Smith is currently an inmate and claimed in
a lawsuit that Diddy drug and assaulted him at a
party in Detroit back in nineteen ninety seven. So here's
the deal. Cardello was suing for one hundred million bucks,

(12:30):
but according to legal docs, Diddy didn't file an answer
to the complaint. A hearing for a default judgment was
set for Monday, still no sign of Diddy, so the
judge gave Cardello Smith what he was asking for, one
hundred million bucks. Yeah, yesterday we finally heard from Ditty's
attorney who said that this man is a convicted felon

(12:51):
and predator who's been sentenced on fourteen counts of assault
and kidnapping over the last twenty six years. The statement reads,
his resume now includes committing a fraud on the court
from prison. As mister Combs has never heard of him,
let alone been served.

Speaker 4 (13:05):
With any lawsuit.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
Mister Combs looks forward to having this judgment swiftly dismissed.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Yeah, something tells me when they come looking for that
hundred million dollars, it's going to be just like trying
to find Diddy for this court case.

Speaker 1 (13:16):
You're not going to find it anywhere.

Speaker 4 (13:17):
All of your celeb scoop at West Michigan Star dot com.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
That's Mack and Smitty with you, And you just introduced
the Venmo mom.

Speaker 4 (13:25):
You said, so, let me think.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
My kids are like three weeks into school, two and
a half for my son, and I got my first
email yesterday that said, Hey, we're into fundraiser time and
if you can, you know, give this or that or
if you can volunteer your time to make this our
most successful fundraiser ever, we'd really appreciate it, which I

(13:51):
have no problem with. I understand that schools have to
do this to help with funding. Yeah, but what one
mom has posted about has gotten some really interesting comments
and a stern conversation started. Are you a Venmo parent?
She calls herself a Venmo mom. This is Casey Neil.
She's a mother of four.

Speaker 4 (14:10):
She lives in Tennessee, and she posted this TikTok just
a few days ago.

Speaker 8 (14:15):
I do not want to be involved at all. I like,
I will make sure my kids obviously, like do their homework,
get to school on time and stuff. But I don't
want to be on PTO PTA room mom team mom.
I don't want to do any of that. And I
started getting real stressed when they start asking for volunteers
and I'm like, oh, no, I know they're judging me
because I'm not raising my hand, but I don't want

(14:35):
to do all that extra shit. I don't want to
come in. I don't want to set up. If the
room mom needs money for everyone to participate, fine, I'll
demo money right over. I do not want to be
I don't want to set up for it.

Speaker 4 (14:48):
I don't want to do it naturally.

Speaker 3 (14:51):
The comments on TikTok were pretty intense, everything from mom's going, hey,
she's just saying out loud what we're all thinking, to
parents going, you have the kids, this is part of
having a kid step up and help out.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
You know, as both of our moms are teacher schmidty,
we know that by and large most parents don't participate
in and so any parent that's doing the VENMO portion
of it or the volunteer portion of it, I can
tell you that your teacher appreciates it, thank you very much.
At the same time, you could tell that the angst
that she was talking with right there wasn't just about

(15:29):
the like, oh, I'm very busy, It was just the
I don't want to do it. I felt like I
was listening to one of my kids talk about something
they don't want to do.

Speaker 3 (15:37):
So it's interesting you bring up when she talks PTO
PTA all of that kind of thing. I realized that
they do some things that help out teachers, but like
they do a lot of other things too that aren't
really super impactful to teachers. They do things for the school,
They do things for other educators, other staff members, sports teams.

(15:57):
I mean, so, I think if you're talking being specifically
helping a teacher and volunteering in a classroom, you know,
I really enjoy being able to do the Halloween party,
the Christmas party, the Valentine party, because I think there's
a very very important aspect of showing up for your kids.
You see those videos, you know, when they come in
for their Christmas program, for instance, and they're scanning the

(16:19):
crowd and their face lights up because they see that
you're there. That's really, really important. At the same time,
I have had friends of mine guilt me into not
being more present than I already am, and I really
hope I am not upsetting anyone by saying this. But
these moms also don't work, and it is a very

(16:41):
very hard thing to juggle as it is. Do I
feel every day super guilty that I'm not there to
take my kids to school because I chose these hours
to work. Absolutely, the last thing I need you to
tell me is that I should also be doing something
seven nights a week to make sure that I'm connecting enough.

Speaker 4 (16:58):
With my kids.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
It's also okay to say I'm really tired, and some
days the best you're going to get out of me
is making sure I read a story with my kid
before bed. This woman goes a little hardcore about it.
I'd be interested to hear what teachers say, though. I mean,
we get the Amazon lists every year. They already reach
into their pocket for so much. Do you actually like

(17:21):
the Venmo mom?

Speaker 4 (17:22):
To some level?

Speaker 3 (17:22):
She said, Hey, what do you need perfect, here's a
thousand bucks. Don't don't bug me again the rest of
the year unless you need more money. And I'd be
happy to do that if it means I don't have
to volunteer.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
I can tell you there are some very fortunate classrooms,
especially here in right west in West Michigan, where they've
got a lot of volunteers, but they could always use
more money, you know what I mean. There's plenty of
parents really to step out. We could really use that
extra cast.

Speaker 3 (17:46):
This is what I'm talking about. Six one six, four
five eight one oh five seven. If you are a
parent and you've heard what this Venmo mom has said,
does it anger you?

Speaker 4 (17:55):
Do you think? Oops?

Speaker 3 (17:57):
I mean some of what she says is kind of true.
If you're a teachers right now, what's more important that
you get those parents to volunteer and help out or
you get things for your classroom. It's a very interesting conversation.

Speaker 2 (18:09):
Good morning to you. It's Mack and Schmitty Wednesdays. Well,
we just own it's failing as parents from time to time,
just like you are with your own kids. But we
at least recamp at each and every week for you in.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
A all right, Schmitty.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
As you know, I don't have to tell you sleep
is a very precious commodity in our lives. Yeah, that
being said, this has kind of become more frequent, especially
this week. I have never quite had such a streak
of completely ignoring my parental duties and tossing the ball

(18:44):
to my wife. Okay, Monday night, my son had a
stomach ache, came into our bedroom at about one am.
Last night, my dog decided they needed to go to
the bathroom at about three am, and just this past night,
my daughter Charlotte needed to come in after some real
freaky dreams at about two am. And I woke up

(19:07):
for each and every one of those many but I
did not let anyone else know that I woke up
for any of those. I pretended to be asleep for
each and every one of them, So Michelle to deal
with that. I'm sorry, but I gotta get up in
just a little while. And there's there's nobody else's alarm
who's going off in the four am hour?

Speaker 1 (19:25):
So I heard each and every one of them.

Speaker 3 (19:28):
Yeah, I got a lot of practice during those infant days,
didn't she?

Speaker 2 (19:31):
No, this is honestly, I feel like I am actually
usually pretty good about this, or or I leave it sporadically.
Normally I will wake up. But after it happened on Monday,
and I was like I'm just too clared.

Speaker 1 (19:42):
I gotta go work.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
You know, It's just those innate motions that go through
your body when it's that late in the morning. And
I just said, no, just let Michelle. He's got to
tell me he wants his mom anyway, just go ahead.
And then when I happened with the dog, I was like, well,
you know what, this is just kind of your thing now,
so I'll give.

Speaker 3 (20:01):
You the one am and the two am because my
husband has completely taken those hours, you know, eighteen years
of doing this. Yes, the three am you're kind of
a jerk. You're literally like, my alarm goes off at
three oh five. I could have done the three am sitch.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
That was the dog one though, and the dog I'm like,
I know he's gonna if he was pukine, Believe me, Smid,
I'd have been out of that room.

Speaker 5 (20:22):
A flag on the three Am, Smoothies music and all
the gossip in one place.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
It's the celebrities goop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 3 (20:38):
It was truly a bombshell on social media yesterday, food
Fighters front man Dave Grohl admitting to fathering a baby
outside of his marriage, writing on his socials I've recently
become the father of a new baby daughter born outside
of my marriage. I planned to be a loving and

(20:58):
supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children,
and I am doing everything I can to regain their
trust and earn their forgiveness. We're grateful for your consideration
toward all the children involved as we move forward together. Yeah,
his wife Jordan, they've met in two thousand and one.
They've been married since two thousand and three, with an

(21:19):
eighteen year old daughter Violet, fifteen year old Harper, and
ten year old Ophelia. A lot of fans just dumb
struck by this news. As for his two oldest daughters,
they have now taken down their social media entirely when
this news broke, And it's interesting. It's been kind of
a back and forth in terms of commenting. A lot

(21:40):
of people writing, wow, there goes my hero, super disappointed,
while others think he's being a real class act about it,
breaking it before you know places like TMZ could and
saying he's going to be a supportive and very very
present parent. But it's interesting. Some clips from the Wimbledon
competition a few weeks ago have resurfaced, and you can

(22:00):
tell looking at it now, Dave is super irritated. Him
and his wife fairly touch each other. It seems very icy,
and now fans are thinking he might have told.

Speaker 4 (22:11):
The family as early as July about all of this.

Speaker 2 (22:14):
You never know what's going on in somebody's relationship, obviously,
but you do know that this has got to be tough, especially.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
On this way.

Speaker 4 (22:19):
I do know you shall be stepping out of your marriage.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
Who removed Maybe they got no open relationships. Maybe maybe
that was just something they kept from their kids. Like
you don't know what goes on all.

Speaker 3 (22:28):
Right, Let's talk about Taylor Swift right now, throwing her
support to Kamala Harris. The debate, of course, going down
last night between VP Harris and former President Donald Trump,
and just hours ago, shortly after that debate ended, we
saw something from Taylor we don't see very often, saying
she is planning to vote for Harris.

Speaker 4 (22:52):
She admits that.

Speaker 3 (22:53):
She watched the video or she watched the debate, but
her bigger issue was the fact that a fake AI
account gave her support towards former President Trump. She writes,
I believe that she fights for the rights and causes.
I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think
she's a steady handed, gifted leader, and I believe we
can accomplish so much more in this country if we're

(23:15):
led by calm and not chaos. She tells fans, do
your research. I've made my choice. Your research is all
yours to do, and the choice is yours to make.
She also reminds voters that in order to vote, you
have to be registered.

Speaker 4 (23:29):
She links a bunch of.

Speaker 3 (23:30):
Different resources on her Instagram before ending it with love
and hope, Taylor Swift, Childless cat Lady.

Speaker 10 (23:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (23:37):
We often talk all the time about what a perfectly
crafted career Taylor Swift has had. This is the biggest,
you know, step out of line and alienate up the
you know, half of your fan base. Almost thing that
she does, and it's rare, it's unique.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
I think the last time I could think about this
was really that Tennessee race for I think one of
the representatives where she It was her very first time
making that political conversation starter.

Speaker 4 (24:04):
She had quite a.

Speaker 3 (24:05):
Lengthy, lengthy post if you want to see the whole thing,
West Michigan Star dot com. Finally, Taylor's boyfriend Travis Kelce
has obviously been looking outside of the NFL for what's
next in his future. We've talked about how he is
a part of the New American Horror story on TV.
He is even talking movie contracts and who better to

(24:26):
get some advice from than Matthew McConaughey. According to the Sun,
Travis had a quote unquote very long talk with the
Academy Award winning star who just happens to be one
of his most favorite actors, a source confirming they had
a great chat about the movie industry, speaking about navigating
it after so many years experience getting advice on how

(24:47):
to make it happen. Of course, they also talked football
as well, since Matthew is quite a fan himself.

Speaker 4 (24:52):
But it will be really interesting. We're hearing movies and
music could be something that Travis Kelce is interested in.

Speaker 3 (24:59):
All it, you name it, All of you are celebscu
Butt West, Michigan Star.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
Dot Com, sell little fine points. Yea it it's Mack
and Schmiddy. Time to battle. Battle of the sex is
And if there's one universe of truth in life, Schmitdia,
I think it's true. In you're four, it's true, and
you're forty, things are better when they glow in the.

Speaker 4 (25:16):
Dark, always and forever. Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live.

Speaker 3 (25:20):
Bring in the Glow party this weekend to Van andle
a few chances left to win, So make sure you're
ready to call in with that number one answer. One
hundred men surveyed. Name a job where people think their
time is more valuable than yours?

Speaker 1 (25:33):
What job?

Speaker 2 (25:34):
Do they not think their time is more valuable than mine?
Schmidty just thought of you.

Speaker 3 (25:37):
Got to say, Sele Marketers, Oh, I think if you
had to pick one.

Speaker 2 (25:41):
Do you think it's that they think their time is
more valuable or that they just hate how.

Speaker 1 (25:44):
They're using their own time in that moment? They got
to know how awful that is?

Speaker 3 (25:48):
You decide six, one, six, four or five eight? One
oh five seven. One hundred men surveyed. Name a job
where the people think their time is more valuable than yours.
Caller seven, first chance at the number one answer, and
you're going to the Globe party with Hot Wheels Monster
Trucks Live on Star Wine.

Speaker 4 (26:05):
Oh five point seven, Good morning Star.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
Who's this Jessica? Jess gott where you're coming from today?
All right, Jessica, let's get you in the hot wheels,
Monster trucks line.

Speaker 1 (26:15):
You gotta tell me first, though, Jessica, what do you
do for a living? I'm in the Air Force.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
You're in the Air Force, yes, okay, well then your
time is definitely more valuable than mine. So but you're
you're not on the list, believe it or not. However,
one hundred men were asked to name an occupation whose
members think their time is more important than yours.

Speaker 1 (26:35):
What do you think? Their top answer was car salesman?
You're going with? What?

Speaker 7 (26:39):
Car salesman?

Speaker 10 (26:40):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (26:41):
Car salesman?

Speaker 2 (26:43):
Yeah. I think they're just trying to, you know, rush
to get you to sign on the dotted line that's
not on there.

Speaker 1 (26:47):
I'm sorry, Jessica, Okay, thank you, thank you. Hi star.
Who's this, Abigail? How old are you? Eight? All right?

Speaker 2 (26:58):
Abigail? Fully mom or dad or in the car that
can help you out a little bit. But I want
to get you to hot wheels. Abigail, you got to
tell me. One hundred men were asked to name a
job whose members think that their time is.

Speaker 1 (27:09):
More important than yours. What do you think? That top
answer was, Abigail, a lawyer.

Speaker 2 (27:15):
A lawyer you know as your mom or Dad might
tell you a lawyer bills by the hour, and man
if I was billing somebody by the hour, I would
not be able to charge those same rates, not even
close lawyers.

Speaker 1 (27:29):
The top answer, Abigail, way to go, thank you.

Speaker 2 (27:32):
Yeah, you've got tickets to go see Hot Wheels Monster
Trucks live this weekend. You're ready to have some fun. Yeah,
heck yes, Abigail. Well you have a great day today
and a great time this weekend. All right, thank you
so much. It was a lawyer, followed by doctor, then
plumber and contractor, rounding out those top answers, and we'll
do it again tomorrow. Another chance to win battle the

(27:53):
section he is eight fifteen.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
You're on Star.

Speaker 2 (27:58):
I am wondering if my and kids are boiling water
right now in my house fitty yesterday, I'm in this
little pocket neighborhood over in Cascade where apparently a water
main broke yesterday afternoons.

Speaker 4 (28:11):
That is devastating.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
Okay, so we didn't hear anything. I've been looking forward
on the news. But it was such a small area
that was impacted by this. It's nowhere. We actually did
not find out this was happening, that they were going
to be shutting off all the water for these like
four or five neighborhoods for what they said was going
to be an hour and a half. They said, we
got an emergency waterman break. We got to turn off

(28:34):
the water for this area. But we found this out
on Facebook. We got no notifications about it. We did
not find any information anywhere else. We just happened to
see this as my wife was scrolling on Facebook, and
sure enough, this happens. Is I'm I'm doing chicken for
chicken tacos last night. I have broad chicken over.

Speaker 4 (28:53):
She was a convenient time, that's science.

Speaker 2 (28:55):
And I find out that I don't have any water
at all, and I turn it on and it's like
a drip for two seconds until it's completely stopped. There's
no water coming out of my faucets at all. So immediately,
you know, my internal or paternal instincts kick in and
I'm like.

Speaker 1 (29:09):
Nobody flushed the toilet.

Speaker 4 (29:11):
Is there a real thing?

Speaker 2 (29:12):
That's just what my dad would say when the power
would go out. And I just it automatically jumped into
this scenario too. I'm like, I just assumed the water
you got the mellow yellow. Otherwise, go in the backyard.
I don't want to clean that up after the back
But in my headge bitdy, this is all gonna be
over with in like an hour and a half. My
daughter and my daughter and wife go off to softball practice.

(29:32):
I'm cooking dinner. My son and I are at home,
and I gotta tell you, I don't think I have
ever tried to wash my hands more times in my life.

Speaker 1 (29:41):
Needed to get.

Speaker 2 (29:42):
A drink so bad.

Speaker 4 (29:43):
It's like when you lose power but you hit every
light switch.

Speaker 2 (29:46):
It's like when you leave your phone someplace, but you
keep tapping on your legs, on your pockets because you
feel like it's in there. You feel like you can
even feel the vibration.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
Sometimes.

Speaker 2 (29:55):
That's how I was with my sink. I forgot that
the water was off at least fifty times yesterday.

Speaker 1 (30:00):
Well this is going on. It was ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
And I want to know what is it in your
house that can go out or break that is the
most annoying to you.

Speaker 4 (30:08):
Bob has said this, Lisa has said this. It is
the washing machine.

Speaker 3 (30:13):
I will one hundred percent say something that will sound
like a first world problem. I would rather not have
a refrigerator than not have a washing machine.

Speaker 1 (30:21):
Really one hundred.

Speaker 4 (30:25):
Yeah, but like yes, I do all the time.

Speaker 1 (30:28):
The anti laundry.

Speaker 3 (30:29):
The worst part is as exactly like Lisa said, bagging
up the clothes, finding a laundry mat, sitting there for
four to six hours. Because she's got a family of
four they have to do. It's exhausting. It's the worst.
I would rather have to order food every day than
have to go and do my laundry somewhere else.

Speaker 2 (30:47):
All right, maite, I'm gonna submit this one to you
real quick, Carlo said, on there your garage door, I
know that that that is definitely a first world problem.
I never even had a garage until I was well
into my place. That being said, I got discount do
so my stuff a break. But if it wasn't working,
like the power is out, how annoying is it to
literally have to lift it up, back your vehicle out,

(31:07):
Get out of your vehicle, come back, close the garage door,
go do handle your business.

Speaker 1 (31:12):
Come back in.

Speaker 2 (31:12):
Know that you're gonna lift it back that oneway too.

Speaker 3 (31:17):
Also, I will say this to end the conversation. If
our water got shut off, we'd be good for at
least two days for the amount of water bottles my
children half stashed around the house.

Speaker 4 (31:26):
We're just fine.

Speaker 1 (31:27):
That's fair.

Speaker 6 (31:31):
Sometime because I get a good feeling.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
Let's dive into some positivity to start out this Wednesday morning.
It's feeling good right now, it's starling a five point seven.
What's happened many well.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
The third year in a row, the American Dunes is
hosting the Folds of Honor Collegiate Golf Tournament. But something
different this year. Brand new is a women's division. Now,
of course, if you're not familiar with Folds of Honor,
it's an incredible organization that provides life changing scholarships to
the spouses and kids of America's fallen or disabled military.

(32:05):
Their mission also expands to the families of America's first responders.
Seems quite fitting that the final round of play would
happen today, the twenty third anniversary of September eleventh, and
with that new women's division, it's become quite a family affair.
Michigan State Women's golf coach and Kentwood native Stacy Slobotnik

(32:27):
stole sharing her excitement with Box seventeen about the fact
that they can be part of such a life changing
golf game.

Speaker 10 (32:33):
My own daughter is playing for Grand Valley here. One
of my former players is the head coach at Notre Dame.
Another former players the head coach at UNC. You know,
Michigan State is hosting. I'm from Grand Rapids, so you
know there's a lot of finish, the circles come full
circle things here this week.

Speaker 4 (32:49):
It's pretty incredible to watch.

Speaker 3 (32:50):
It's live on a golf channel and getting some great
exposure not just for our golfers, but again, Folds of Honor.

Speaker 4 (32:58):
You can give.

Speaker 3 (32:58):
You can set up a golf tournament of your own
and all proceeds go to that amazing organization Folds of
Honor dot org for all the standings as well.

Speaker 2 (33:08):
All right, Chpindi. Of course, high school football in full swing,
including right here in West Michigan where the battles are
fierce and somebody has taken notice, and that somebody is
your Detroit Lions. Yes, they have named South Christian football
coach Danny Brown as their Coach of the Week for
Week two. After South Christian beat East Grand Rapids in

(33:29):
a comeback victory forty two to twenty eight. The Sailors
are now two to zero and ranked the number one
team in Division four across the state, and he actually
joined the Lions head coach hangout talking about what it
means to have a great program and why he loves
doing this, and of course, as you might expect from
a great head coach, he says, it takes so many

(33:49):
other people.

Speaker 1 (33:50):
Step it up.

Speaker 7 (33:51):
I would say it's probably the community support, you know that,
and it's not just sport, like, what can we do
to help these kids with life after the fact when
they're out of South Christian. I think, you know, I
think the head coach gets a lot of the credit
and whatnot, but if you don't have the right people
on the bus, the assistant coaches that believe in what
we're trying to accomplish, then it makes it hard to

(34:13):
run a successful program. And I think we're hitting right
now on a lot of those things, which is obviously
causing some success for us.

Speaker 2 (34:21):
On a Friday night, super cool to see because not
only has Danny Brown their head football coach, but a
former student at Central Christian as well as well as
teacher there. Congratulations gets a thousand bucks for the football program,
which will help out for sure, and South Christian gets
ready to take on West Catholic on the road Friday night,
seven o'clock. Another chance to have a big victory for

(34:42):
South Christian.

Speaker 4 (34:43):
Got great guy, So you're just a solid guy.

Speaker 1 (34:45):
I feeling good coming at you twice today.

Speaker 2 (34:47):
I always want to point out those people who are
out there making our world a better place. We do
it again for you tomorrow at six forty five and
nine twenty with us right here on STARTTAR five point
seven Mack and Schmidty in the morning weekday starting at
six am R one oh five point seven
