Speaker 1 (00:02):
Wake up.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
It gets my day going. It makes me laugh.
Speaker 3 (00:09):
I love it.
Speaker 4 (00:10):
Mac and Schmitty in the morning on Star one oh
five point seven.
Speaker 5 (00:13):
Oh, good morning, Schmitty, Hey, good morning. You know, yesterday
we were talking about how those sunsets are getting earlier
and earlier, and I got to tell you we took
the kids out fishing yesterday and hand like a little
picnic out on the boat.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
It's awesome.
Speaker 5 (00:24):
And it was weird because all of a sudden, I'm thinking, man,
they've got school tomorrow. We've got to get home, hit bedtime.
It's getting late five point fifty two pm. Oh yeah,
don't do it, it's creeping in. I mean, if you're
a fall person, man, enjoy these last few days this summer,
because boy was that sun setting early out in Mischigan.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Last night. I was over at Helena bon Children's Hospital
out there for Project Night Lights and it was the
first one that was in the dark that we have
seen since June, I'm pretty sure, but definitely not the
last one over there. Great night last night. I thank
it everybody, especially tons of first responders who came out there.
But he mentioned the weather. I feel like I got
to make plans for this weekend for follow basically every
(01:06):
night because we have nothing but like eighty degree temperatures
and partly sunny to sunny skies in the ten day forecast.
I mean, it's West Michigan.
Speaker 6 (01:13):
It'll change, but still movies, music, and all the gossip
in one place.
Speaker 4 (01:19):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 5 (01:23):
Big win for Justin Timberlake in his DWI case, cutting
a deal for a much lesser offense. He just sealed
a plea deal, hammering out an agreement that does not
involve drunk driving or even a criminal offense. He's actually
just copped to a traffic violation. The singer's lawyer and
(01:44):
prosecutors got the judge in the case to sign off
on the deal. With that DWI charge. Officially drop Justin
will just lead guilty to driving while impaired, which is
not a DD offense. The penalty Justin pays between three
and five hundred dollars fine. That's it. The hearing will
come up on Friday where that will be official in court.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
A five hundred dollars fine.
Speaker 5 (02:07):
Basically, Yeah, like I said, pretty big win in the
DWI case.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
Yeah, good lawyer.
Speaker 5 (02:12):
Finally Next up, we're going to talk about Dave Grohl
and this ongoing drama over fathering a daughter outside of
his more than twenty year marriage. Well, there was a
post that was going around yesterday saying that a picture
of a baby girl by the name of roxy Juni
Grole was shared by a user named Valerie Grayston. The
(02:36):
post spread like wildfire, where in part it said, being
your mama has already been the most incredible experience of
my life. Every day I fall more in love with
you and this new role. Your daddy was by my
side through the entire pregnancy, making sure we were both
taken care of, and I'm so grateful for his love
and support. This is fake, completely, one hundred percent fake.
(03:00):
In fact, Dave's reps are on the move right now
trying to get the post taken down. His rep says
that anything related to whoever this is the picture of
this child is absolutely untrue.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
People are so creepy, schmidt Is.
Speaker 5 (03:18):
It's really awful. This thing is like two paragraphs long,
it's hashtagged and everything, but that is not Dave Grohl's daughter.
And honestly, if you know how private he was when
his daughters were little, I doubt we're gonna be seeing
pictures of this baby girl. Finally, the MTV VMA's went
down last night. Big winners, not surprising Taylor Swift taking
(03:38):
home Video of the Year alongside post Malone for Fortnite.
Some other fabulous wins rock Star by Lisa for the
K pop group, Taylor Swift Artist of the Year seventeen
as a group, Sabrina Carpenter Song of the Year for Espresso.
But some of the things that went down on stage
were fabulous to watch. Megan this Stallion actually hosting the
(04:00):
evening the fortieth anniversary of the awards and trying to
channel some Britney spears in that iconic Slave for You
video from two thousand and one, but was not down
with the live snake.
Speaker 7 (04:15):
Okay, stop the music, stop the music.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
I'm just playing.
Speaker 8 (04:21):
Come get this nake.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
I don't know this nake.
Speaker 7 (04:22):
This snake don't know me.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
Oh my god. I taught the hold of.
Speaker 5 (04:29):
Down for Brittany. I mean, this thing was wrapping itself
around her inner thigh and Megan is like, oh no, no, no,
this was a good idea in theory, and I want
this python as far from me as possible. We saw
big performances from Chapel Rome, Camila Caveo, eminem full rundown
at West Michigan Star dot com with your.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
Stikes sometime cause I get a good feeling sing a
fine point sea having it smack and Schmidty feeling good
right now. And this is our place where we give
you a little something extra. But Schmidti, there's a place
where guac always cost extra. Where is that place? Chipolte?
(05:09):
Of course, Yeah, Chapolte, Guac always extra, And so is
this guy. This is unbelievable story, Schmiddy. Dylan ware him
is his name, Automobile Alabama, and he recently reached a
goal of his Why he had this goal, I'm not
quite sure, but he had a goal of eating Chapolte
for a thousand days in a row. Somewhere Morgan Spurlock
(05:30):
is rolling around in his grave. I feel like this
is insane. This is given that big Mac guy run
for his money. Yeah, Dylan ate Chapolte for a thousand
days in a row, and Chapolte noticed. They rewarded his dedication.
Just gave this guy and all expendses paid trip to
Hawaii for his family, along with several several Chapolte Brandon
(05:52):
Gibson swag. He had a trip actually that was scheduled
to start the day after his one thousandth meal, but
he also decided that he couldn't pass up on it,
so his family literally packed Chapolte meals to go to
take with him on a cruise. Smitdi, Yeah, I would,
so that he could keep this streak alive. Yeah, how
insane is this? Yeah? He also got a commented Chipolte
(06:15):
VIP card allows him to get a free meal every
day for a year. You just ate it a thousand
times in a row, Bro, you really want to do
another year? Yes? That's insane. I mean, if you've got
this kind of dedication, at least Chipolte rewarded you for it.
I mean, trip to Hawaii not so bad.
Speaker 5 (06:31):
This is incredible. Yesterday and the Rolling Green Hills of Ireland,
New York City firefighters biked alongside Irish firefighters, finishing up
a three day trip to honor first responders who lost
their lives on September eleventh, of course, twenty three years ago. Yesterday,
(06:51):
two hundred and twenty five miles later, a group of
almost one hundred serving and retired firefighters made their way
to a very special place. It's called the Ring Thin
in Garden of Remembrance. It overlooks the Atlantic Ocean in
the southwestern county of Cork, set up by an Irish
nurse who treated victims on September eleventh. Her name is
(07:13):
Kathleen Murphy. She was an Irish nurse who worked at
Lennox Hill Hospital in Manhattan on nine to eleven, dedicating
a piece of her family's property just a couple months
after the attacks, dedicating the site to her good friend
Michael Judge, a Franciscan Friar chaplain of the New York
Fire Department, who became the first identified victim of nine
(07:36):
to eleven after dying while trying to save people from
the North Tower. This has happened for a few years
now in order to try and raise as many funds
as possible for victims, for families or anything that might
help from that day, and they did just that. One
hundred and fifty thousand dollars raised in just three days.
(07:56):
For Battalion Chief Danny Sheridan. He's a third generation Irish
American who was at ground zero shortly after the second
tower fell. This is something he carries with him every day.
Speaker 7 (08:06):
An incredible, incredible moment as we're riding through, it's like
it's just a remembrance.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
I carry all those guys with you.
Speaker 5 (08:14):
The video is just beautiful. And when you see the
sycamore trees that have been planted and three one hundred
and forty three crosses each for a fallen firefighter is
just going to move you to tears. I'll put up
the story at West Michigan Style.
Speaker 6 (08:29):
Movies, music and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
It's the celebrities Goop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 5 (08:37):
Well, last night was the fortieth annual MTV VMA's big winners,
not surprising, included Taylor Swift, who won both Video of
the Year and Song of the Summer for Fortnite, alongside
Post Malone Best New Artist, Chapel Roon Sabrina Carpenter picking
up some nice hardware as well. But it was Katie
Perry everyone was excited to see, taking home the mic
(09:00):
Old Jackson Video Vanguard Award, introduced by Fiance Orlando Bloom.
Speaker 8 (09:06):
Ladies and Gentlemen Get twenty twenty four MTV Video Van God,
Catherine Hudson, Candie Perry.
Speaker 7 (09:21):
There are no decade long accidents. Thank you to MySpace,
Warped Tour and all the bygone places where I found
a voice, identity, and a community so early on.
Speaker 5 (09:34):
So unfortunately, the reason Orlando Bloom is going viral this
morning is throughout this incredible, like eight minute performance where
she did a montage of all of her hit songs,
the camera kept panning to Orlando and he looked totally confused,
Like every single time he had this really perplexed look
on his face, to the point where the Internet started joking,
(09:57):
I don't think Orlando Bloom has ever heard a single
Katy Perry's song before in his life. What is going on?
He just looked like he didn't know what was happening.
And I don't know, like maybe he had gas or something,
but it's like, oh, buddy, fixed your face all right.
Retired WWE star Niki Bella officially tapping out when it
(10:20):
comes to her marriage. Yes, it's not totally surprising, but
she did just officially file to divorce her former Dancing
with the Stars pro Artam SCHADVINCEV. This is after that
arrest for domestic violence about two weeks ago. Ardam was
arrested for felony corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant
(10:40):
for allegedly attacking Nicky, resulting in a visible injury that
triggered his arrest. She started looking for divorce lawyers. We
saw her the next day without her wedding ring, and
it looks like it's all set in stone. She headed
to LA Court yesterday to officially file the petition. The
estranged couple has one child together, their four year old son,
Matteo uncle. If there is a prenup involved here is
(11:03):
he facing charges?
Speaker 2 (11:04):
By the way, is indeed?
Speaker 5 (11:05):
Yeah, the investigation is ongoing, but I believe he's already
been hit with a few charges. Okay, Finally, Taylor Swift's
influence is making waves in politics. Whether the lover or hater,
you knew it probably would, throwing her support towards Vice
President Kamala Harris the other night. It has been absolutely
bonkers online for voter registration. Check this out a more
(11:27):
than one hundred percent increase in people using vote for
one one dot org. It's a go to resource for
everything election related. They also saw a big shift in
demo on Monday before the debate. The biggest age group
either registering to vote or making sure they were registered
fifty five to sixty five year olds. By yesterday, largest
(11:50):
group was eighteen to twenty four year old. Now, as
for the other side of the aisle, remember Kansas City
quarterback Trick Mahomes has been facing a lot of question
after his wife Brittany, was seen liking and sharing some posts,
and in fact, former President Donald Trump actually name dropped
his family in a show of support yesterday. Asked during
(12:11):
a press conference, Patrick maintains that's not his arena.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (12:15):
I think I've always said I don't want I don't
want my place in my platform to be used to
endorse a candidate or do whatever each either way, I
think my place is to inform people to get registered
to vote, is to inform people to do their own
research and then make their best decision for them and
their family. And so I think that's where every time
I'm on this stage and I get to asked these questions,
(12:35):
I'm looking to refer back to that, because I think
that's what makes America so great.
Speaker 5 (12:38):
As his agent is in the back of the room
going exactly what we told you to say, all of
your celeb scoop at West Michigan Star dot com.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
Thanks for joining us this morning. It's Mack and Schmidti
and you would be smirch the name of your good husband.
Speaker 5 (12:52):
I would, and I think anyone living with my husband
would do the same. It was the weirdest night the
other night. Absolutely sit bolt upright at like one thirty
in the morning because we're in our bedroom. We got
our windows open, which face our backyard, and we've got
like half a wooded backyard, and I hear the most
(13:13):
unnerving sound. It's like a chittering, scratching, screeching.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
Do you want to do your best?
Speaker 5 (13:20):
I honestly can't even do it. Justice Like, it's just
I'm like, what is that? It sounds like something is
either fighting or dying in the animal kingdom. And it's
so loud it wakes me up. I mean, y'all know
how much I love my sleep for that to like
jolt me. It's loud, and I'm like, what is going on?
(13:40):
And I'm looking around. I realize it's coming from outside.
And since I have the husband that I have, he
has an led headlamp next to.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
His bed, I'm surprised it's not night vision coggles.
Speaker 5 (13:49):
So I grabbed the headlamp. I point it outside of
our window and I see the most insane thing. It's
a family of raccoons. It's like four or five raccoons
and they're clawing and trying to get into our giant
cooler that is sitting just off of our deck steps.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
Raccoon's doing raccoon stuff, and I'm.
Speaker 5 (14:11):
Like, what is happening? And they're clearly angry with each
other because they can't figure out how to get into
the cooler. But I see their little trash panda pause
trying to like pop the little last last up. It's
so insane, and I'm like, I'm hitting Chris in the shoulder.
I'm like, wake up, what is going on? He's like
what I said, look at this. It's like the animal
(14:32):
Kingdom at its weirdest in our backyard. And I see
him go oh, I'm like what he goes that cooler
is full of fish guts and I'm like, I'm so sorry,
why is that cooler full of fish guts? And it
is something that he does that drives me up the wall.
I mean, I have brought this up so many times.
(14:54):
He's an avid fisherman, goes out anytime that he can,
and then he cleans the fish in our backyard. But
for some reason, he just doesn't have the time or
the energy to then bury the fish guts he's just cleaned.
So a lot of the times he'll just like leave
them in the cooler or like put them back in
the double bag he used for the fish later. And
(15:16):
I'm like, we do not live in downtown Grand Rapids anymore.
We are in a more rural area with obviously lots
of animal kind, and so these raccoons, like I said,
this little trash panda fam was trying to get into
that cooler so they could eat everything in it. And
he's completely unbothered by this. I get home from work
later that afternoon, still has not cleaned out the fishguts.
(15:38):
I'm like, hey, are the fish guts still there?
Speaker 4 (15:40):
Goes ah Man.
Speaker 5 (15:40):
All morning, I was figuring there's something you told me
to do. I couldn't figure out what it was. And
I'm like, you know what, I hope a bear shows
up in the back of your truck or something, because
you will not bury these fish guts. And I just, oh,
my gosh, it drives me insane that he does that.
Speaker 2 (15:55):
Honestly, when you said that he had still left it there,
and he was like, oh, I forgot. The first thought
that went into my head was like, that's because we're
hunting bear here, honey.
Speaker 5 (16:04):
Yes, I just I looked at him and I said, Babe,
I am such an understanding person. I let your thirty
five pound lake trout hang out in our chest freezer
for god knows how long because you want to get
it to a taxidermist. But fish guts for raccoons.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
That's where you draw the line.
Speaker 5 (16:20):
Right in our backyard is where I cannot go any further.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
Ah, that's too good. You know you you posed. This
is like, what's the annoying thing your spouse wars? I
was just going to talk about how my wife is
always sticking her hair to the side of the shower
door and it grosses me out. But you know what,
fish cuts, Fish cuts wins and got it. Smitty tip
of the cap to you and to Chris. I hope
he gets his bear, marriage.
Speaker 6 (16:43):
Movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 4 (16:47):
It's the celebrity scoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 5 (16:51):
I know I don't want to make you feel old,
but last night the fortieth annual MTV Video Music Awards
Big VMA winners of course Taylor Swift taking home both
Video of the Year as well as Song of the
Summer for Fortnite with post Malone. She also grabs some
more great hardware alongside Sabrina Carpenter, Katie Perry, even Lenny Kravitz.
(17:14):
But it was that awesome Song of the Year that
got a really cool acceptance speech from Taylor, who used
the moment I know you're gonna hate me for it
to talk about Travy.
Speaker 10 (17:27):
Something that I'll always remember is that when when I
would finish a take, I'd and I'd say cut and
we'd be done with that take. I would always just
hear like someone like like cheering and like.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
Oooh, like like from lacrosse.
Speaker 10 (17:44):
From across the studio where we were shooting it, And
that one person was my boyfriend Travis. Everything this man
touches turns to happiness and fun and magic. So I
want to thank him for adding that to our shoot.
Speaker 5 (17:58):
I thought it was sweet. By the way this spoke.
It was pop video. That was the acceptance speech. I
had to go through like seven of hers to find out.
When she was talking about Trevis.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
I don't know why this is making me hate the
Kansas City chief so much more as allianceman. Every day
there's a story like this.
Speaker 5 (18:13):
All right, let's talk about the super awkward moment for
ESPN analyst Shannon Sharp that went viral yesterday. Apparently he
accidentally went live while getting intimate. Everyone was talking about this,
and eventually he issued a statement saying that his Instagram
(18:35):
had been hacked. Well later yesterday on his Nightcap podcast,
he said that's not the case. It was just a
complete tech savvy oopsie.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
Obviously.
Speaker 3 (18:46):
Yeah, I'm embarrassed someone that is extremely, extremely private, and
to have one of your most intimate details the audio
heard for the entire world to hear.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
I'm embarrassed for a lumber of reasons.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
People count on Shannon share a lot of people that
count on Shannon to be professionally at all times, and
I always try to be professional at all times, even
when I'm behind closed doors. I'm very disappointed in myself,
not for the act, but but to have your most
intimate detail on the audio to be heard. I'm disappointed
(19:24):
in myself.
Speaker 5 (19:25):
Isn't that awkward? When he explains what happened.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
Came in I threw my phone on the bed, gazed
in an activity. I did not know ig lib. I've
never been on ig lib. I've never turned ig live on,
so I don't know how it works.
Speaker 5 (19:40):
Oh my gosh. He said his phone started blowing up
from people he didn't even know that were like, hey man,
you're on Instagram live right now. He said that originally
a member of his team decided to share that message
about his Instagram getting hacked to try and de escalate
the situation, but he felt it just needed to be
fully truthful. And he's just a dude that doesn't know
how technology.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
That's like, I mean, that's essentially like a butt dial.
But it's the worst part dial I have ever heard of.
It's the stuff of nightmares right there.
Speaker 5 (20:08):
Oh, finally, President Biden is explaining what made a lot
of people go what putting on Make America Great Trump
support hat yesterday. But the White House says he's not
switching sides, just trying to bring both sides together. So
Potus was photographed yesterday at a fire station in Shanksville, Pennsylvania,
(20:30):
where he was speaking about bipartisan unity that we saw
after nine to eleven and how we need to get
back to that. As a gesture, he gave a hat
to a Trump supporter, who then said, in that same spirit,
the president should put on a Trump cap, which he
briefly did, then took it off and continued his commentary.
But man, oh man, was that blowing up yesterday?
Speaker 2 (20:48):
Yeah, and I'm sure it looks weird given our current
political state. But man, I honestly like the idea. How welcome.
It's both sides, Like I saw President Trump yesterday at
the nine to eleven tribute shaking hands with Biden, shaking
hands with Harris, Like, let's get a little more of that, please,
from all sides.
Speaker 5 (21:03):
All of your celeb scoop at West Michigan Star dot
Com Battle.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
Of the Sexes time and your shot one of your
final two chances, by the way to get to Hot
Wheels Monster Trucks Live below party rolling into Van Andelerina
for shows this weekend.
Speaker 5 (21:18):
It is Battle of the Sexes. Your question one hundred
women surveyed, who's a person you would address as sir
or ma'am?
Speaker 2 (21:26):
Sir or ma'am is different. My kids, I make them
address every adult as mister blank or miss blank, even
if they know their first names. Even if they're like
best friends of ours. It's mister j mister Dave, Miss Schmidty,
all that kind of stuff, because it's just a good thing.
Speaker 5 (21:41):
Did you see Taylor Swift's acceptance speech about Fortnite last
night where she said she had work for months to
get post Malone to stop calling her ma'am because he
may have been born in New York, but he was
raised in Texas. And then she's like, did you want
to say anything? And he walks up to the microphone
and goes, I would ma'am. Oh, She's like, this just
a nice dude. Six one, six, four, eight, one five seven.
(22:02):
One hundred women were surveyed. Who's a person you would
address as sir or ma'am? Dollar seven. We're looking for
that number one answer to send you to Hot Wheels
Monster Trucks Live with Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 2 (22:13):
Good morning star. Who's this? Hello? Who can you hear me?
Good morning star? Who's this Scotty? Scotty? Where are you
coming from today?
Speaker 3 (22:24):
Sir Brandville?
Speaker 2 (22:25):
All right, Scotty, let's see if we can get you
out this weekend. Go and enjoy Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live.
You gotta tell me one hundred women were asked to
tell me a person you would address using sir or ma'am.
What do you think. Their top answer was there Scotty, uh,
military military, Yes, sir would definitely be coming out of
your mouth, yes, ma'am all the time. However, that is
(22:48):
not on the list. I don't know why either, Scotty.
That's a great guest man. Sorry, I thank you, Hi star.
Who's this.
Speaker 6 (22:56):
Mary?
Speaker 3 (22:56):
Mary?
Speaker 2 (22:57):
Scot Scotty just gave me a great guess. I can't beleave.
Wasn't on the list of top answers. One hundred women
were asked to tell me a person you're addressing using
sir or ma'am, and he said people in the military,
which is a great guess. They're always yelling sir and ma'am.
But not on the list. So what do you think
it is?
Speaker 5 (23:13):
Mary, I'm out like grocery workers or people that are
working that you have to say sir?
Speaker 8 (23:21):
Is this on sail or?
Speaker 7 (23:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (23:23):
I often do that when I'm addressing people out in
public too, like that. But yeah, that's not on there either.
I'm sorry, Mary, Okay, thank you, Hi Star? Who's this?
Hi Star? Who's this him?
Speaker 1 (23:34):
Eric?
Speaker 4 (23:35):
Eric?
Speaker 2 (23:35):
I got a couple of good guesses, but not the
top answer yet. One hundred women were asked to tell
me a person you're addressing using sir or ma'am and
so far. I heard the military and I heard workers
when you're out in public, but neither of those were
on the list. Here, what do you think it is?
We're going with a customer? You're going with a customer
like you're working for somebody else sir or ma'am. Yeah,
(23:56):
as a waiter, I definitely did that quite often, but
not on there either. Man, this it's a tough one today.
I guess all right, thank you, thank you, Hi star.
Who's this Austin. I've had some really good guesses, but
nobody's been able to give me the top answer yet.
Let's hope you can turn this around, Austin. One hundred
women were asked to tell me a person that you're
addressing using sir or ma'am and so far. I heard
(24:20):
military members, which is a great guest. What wasn't on
the list? I heard if you're talking to a worker,
like in a grocery store, you're asking a question, you
call them sir ma'am. And I heard the reverse of
that when you're talking to customers in a store, addressing
them as sirr or man, but not the top answer.
You have got your chance right here. What do you
think it is? Austin A police officer, Police officer, I
(24:42):
was waiting because you know that when you roll down
that window and they ask if you're ID and proof
of insurance? Yes, sir, yes, ma'am comes out of your
mouth real quick as you're trying to avoid that ticket.
Police officer's top answer to go Austin Congress. Ye, yeah,
thank you so welcome. You're gonna be going to check
out Hot Wheels Monster Trucks live this week. Get over
(25:04):
at Van andle Congratulations. Well, thank you, you are very welcome.
I'm gonna be a great time and we'll have one
more shot for you to win tomorrow morning, eight fifteen.
Battle of the Sexes here on start one O five
point seven?
Speaker 5 (25:20):
Some down?
Speaker 6 (25:21):
Does that get a good feeling?
Speaker 2 (25:23):
Stopping a fine point seven? It's Mack and Schmide. I
see that's trying to poke its way out out there.
We're trying to brighten things up too. It's feeling good
right now in Star.
Speaker 5 (25:30):
This is just an absolutely stunning video to watch rock
legend John bon Jovi actually helping to save a woman's life.
This went down in Nashville on Tuesday. Luckily, the singer
was filming a music video for his new song People's
House and noticed a woman hanging on the other side
of the rail of the John Sigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge. You
(25:53):
can actually see security video that's been released. John slowly
starts walking and approaching the woman. You can see but
not hear, that he's having some kind of conversation with her,
talking with her. There's another bystander that kind of joins in.
At one point he's just standing on the other side
of the rail from her. He's kind of rubbing her
(26:13):
back a bit, continuing to speak before he goes in
for an embrace and while hugging her, actually helps her
back over onto the bridge. This is just wild. Both
the Nashville Fire Department and Metro Nashville Police responding to
the scene. Nashville Chief of Police John Drake applauding the singer, saying,
(26:34):
it takes all of us to help keep each other safe.
It wouldn't be surprising if John knew exactly what to say.
So much work goes into his JBJ Soul Kitchen where
he helps folks with things like homelessness, mental health, and
other issues. So I can't imagine a better person to
step up and help this person realize that they are
loved and they need to be here. And it's just
(26:56):
an incredibly moving moment.
Speaker 2 (26:58):
It truly is. The whole thing is so real to
think about John bond Jovi being the one doing all
of this shitty, not that it matters, It really doesn't matter.
Do you think the person even knew who it was
at first or found out Acal doesn't seem like it
in the video. We do have that up at West
Michigan Star dot Com. Just absolutely incredible. All right, this
is just a really cool story out of Virginia, James
(27:20):
Madison High School there in Virginia, freshmen are doing some
upperclassmen stuff. I feel like because a group of them
just did something incredibly kind for their custodian Francis. Francis
originally from Ghana and he moved to the US ten
years ago, and he's just become a very cherish part
of that school community, and his unwavering positivity, his infectious
(27:41):
kindness has really rubbed off on the students. One of
them telling their local news. Ever since we met Francis,
he's been super kind and friendly and sometimes even says
prayers for us when he asked about When we asked
about his birthday wish, Francis mentioned his lifelong dream of
owning a jeep. Wrangler thought it was far beyond his means. Well,
(28:02):
that's when this group of freshmen decided they would do
what you do in twenty twenty four and tell the
internet about it and start a go fundme, and things
really took off. As freshman Bennett Hitshman told his local
news WUSA nine, there in Virginia check this out.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
You know, we're standing around talent of Vienna foodies and
a bunch of our family members, and one thing got
to another. In the next two days, we had five
thousand dollars. So it kind of the momentum kept gaining
from there, and then I think we broke twenty thousand
two days ago. So, I mean that's when we were like,
all right, let's wrap this up. Let's get him the
(28:38):
jeep and let's give him the surprise.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
Let's wrap this up. Let's get him the jeep and
give him the surprise. Well, I think his reaction was
more than even they bargained for. Listen to this, Oh my.
Speaker 7 (28:51):
God, I can't believe this. On't you this time.
Speaker 5 (28:57):
He nearly passes out.
Speaker 2 (29:01):
Oh my god, I mean he is literally rolling around
on the ground in pure joy, just unbelievably happy at
this wild gesture that it's done by these freshmen who
said he's more than a custodian. He's a friend to us.
His kindness is constagious, and we just said, let's get
him a jeep wrangler. I mean, how cool is that?
Speaker 5 (29:20):
Just crazy videos on our Instagram at West Michigan Star.
Speaker 2 (29:23):
