Speaker 1 (00:03):
Wait, wakem.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
It gets my day going.
Speaker 1 (00:08):
It makes me lamb it mac in Schmitty in the
morning on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 3 (00:13):
Good morning Schmitty.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Oh, welcome back to it.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
Welcome into fall. That's right, Welcome into your Monday. But
as of yesterday morning, after I had my first cup
of coffee, it was fall. At first cup of coffee,
still summertime. Second cup of coffee, it was fall, the equinox.
Hid I guess at about seven forty five it was eight.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Forty four forty four am.
Speaker 4 (00:35):
Officially I was out on my deck drinking my coffee
as it was slightly sprinkling.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
Yesterday was the greatest day.
Speaker 4 (00:40):
But we're gonna talk about it at seven ten because
you know what, I'm not alone. And now there were
so many people that thought, ooh, yesterday was the Sunday reset.
I think everybody needed. It was like the perfect end
to a weekend.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
Yeah, it was a beautiful Sunday for Lions fans. We'll
talk about it all coming up here at this.
Speaker 4 (00:56):
Morning movies, music, and all the guys up in one place.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
It's the celebrities group on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 4 (01:05):
Well, Kim Kardashian is continuing her work with prison reform,
meeting with some very notorious inmates that include the infamous
Eric and Lyele Menendez. Sources say Kim stop by the
Richard J. Donovan Correctional facility near San Diego to speak
to a group of around forty inmates, including the Brothers.
It gets a little awkward though, because remember Kim is
(01:26):
very very close with Ryan Murphy. After working on some
American horror story. It was over the weekend that Lyle
blasted the producer for that new Netflix biopic series Monsters,
saying that it was absolutely despicable the way he painted
the brothers. It was blatant lies and very demoralizing for
(01:47):
them to see. Apparently, Kim showed up to help support
something that in fact, the Brothers have spearheaded their beautifying
prison yards. They think it would help inmates rehabilitation. A
huge part of the project called green Space, that she
would like to take to other prisons. Very interesting matchups.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
I just think it's an interesting thought to be in
prison and then all of a sudden, here someone come
to you I'm assuming a prison guard and be like, hey,
get up, Kim Kardashian's here to talk to you.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
Today.
Speaker 4 (02:18):
Well, here's what I thought was even weirder is they
were blasting Ryan Murphy on Facebook. They must have facebo
in prison because Lyle was like, Eric, let me get
on your Facebook and post this status that show was
not kind. I'm like, what a weird world that we
live in right now? A new mom of two in
Hollywood be congratulations to Olivia Munn and hubby comedian John mulaney,
(02:42):
who have now doubled the fam welcoming their second child
via surrogate, months after revealing her breast cancer diagnosis. This
has been such a roller coaster for Olivia, sharing the
news to insta yesterday, posting several picks of newborn May
June m'laney said, born Saturday, September fourteenth. They said they
(03:03):
used to surrogate, adding they had very strong feelings about
not being able to carry her own baby this time around,
but the surrogate showing her grace and helping put her
mind at ease. She ended the post by sharing that
her daughter's cute nickname is Plum because in May is
what it means in Chinese. So she joins big brother
(03:24):
Malcolm that the two welcome just a couple of years
ago very cool.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
May June Mulaney.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
I was like, are you serious that I saw May
we spelled Nika.
Speaker 4 (03:34):
And finally, what an epic weekend in Vegas for our
iHeartRadio Music Festival.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
What a lineup?
Speaker 4 (03:42):
But man, did I see a lot of people talking
about the intro to nine two stelllar performance by NKOTB.
Consider this practice after they announced that massive residency coming
to Vegas.
Speaker 5 (04:03):
Good God, See Jersey's.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
Pretty close to people throwing things on stage, if you
know what I'm saying. But my other favorite part was
when they actually met up with Backstreet.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
Boy A J. MacLean and it was like the cutest.
Speaker 4 (04:29):
Read like bro Mance reunion out there. Oh my god,
how do you remember that? It was story after story.
(04:51):
It was so cool, a lot of huge collaborations. People
loved Chris Martin. I know Halsey absolutely blew it out.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
Of the water. Do a lipa really good? You can
check it out.
Speaker 4 (05:01):
Got it's unposted along with your scoop at West Michigan
Star dot com.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
Sometimes because I get a good feeling.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
Ye, well, teachers here in the state of Michigan, and
over one hundred future teachers are going to have a
whole lot more books for their students because.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
This was huge.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
On Friday, thousands of books were delivered at the Storehouse
of Community Resources in plain Full Township, right here in
West Michigan. It was all made possible thanks to a
half a million dollars donated by Scholastic Books. Now, the
donation is meant to deliver books to underserved areas in
the state of Michigan. But nineteen thousand books, Mandy, that's
(05:39):
a lot of work. Well, call in the Grand Valley
State University Michigan Literacy Project, who gathered over one hundred
student teachers that helped to organize those books for distribution
to other organizations who would get them to the communities
they need to be in Michigan.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
Here's the cool part.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
Those student teachers also each got to pick out two
hundred and four alty books that allow them to establish
libraries in their own classrooms as they go forward in
their careers. Michelle Krull, who's with the Storehouse of Community
Resource Center there in Plainfield Township, said, you know, the
challenges the teacher's face are unbelievable, so these free books
(06:17):
mean an absolute ton to them. One of them very
excited as he told to Fox seventeen.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
They are so excited.
Speaker 4 (06:24):
I got texts last night from several of them that
they said this was just such a fulfilling event. When
teacher said, she was just like shaking with happiness.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
About nineteen thousand books organized and delivered Friday at this
big event. Really cool. Actually, your friends over at Wommy
TV sh many Yeah, Henny was there, Remy was there.
Michael Hyacinth of course on hand as well, just talking
about what books like this mean for your kids and
how he's so happy to be a part of this mission.
Speaker 6 (06:55):
I want the kids to know that anything is possible
right through education, through books, through community, through service.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
And she bede your mama teacher, my mama teacher. Is
there anything that gets teachers more excited than more books
for their kids?
Speaker 4 (07:11):
Oh, we just got our Scholastic book for him. And
my mom said, I'm putting money in your account right
now by the kids whatever books they want, because, as
she says, readers are leaders.
Speaker 3 (07:21):
Love that.
Speaker 4 (07:22):
All right, let's go quick here and big A big
happy birthday to Robert Weber, the Holland gentleman, officially one
hundred years old over the weekend what a milestone to
celebrate with friends and family. Robert officially turned one hundred

from Illinois, he moved to Michigan after retiring as a

great grandpa, lifelong learner, adventurer, and veteran.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
As he puts it.
Speaker 4 (07:53):
Robert served in World War Two drafted when he was
twenty nineteen forty four. He was sent to France part
of the tenth Armored Vision in the fifty fourth Armored
Infantry Battalion.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
He fought throughout Europe.
Speaker 4 (08:05):
He was in the Battle of the Bulge, receiving lots
of awards, including the Bronze Star and the French Legion

to be a veteran. In the secret to getting to
one hundred kagan.
Speaker 7 (08:18):
One day at a time, make the most of every
day and well, the first thing you know, one hundred
years comes around.
Speaker 4 (08:29):
He also adds, be curious and eat lots of rhuebarb. Now,
while the celebration over the weekend was just close family
and friends, you can send a birthday card at wishing
Robert a happy one hundred Bob at tenth armored dot com,
they would love a birthday message, So congratulations Robert, and
thank you so much for your service.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
Happy birthday, Bob. I don't know if I can eat
rhubarb for one hundred years spinning.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
Are you up for that moment?
Speaker 1 (08:53):
I feel like it comes out to a couple times
a day. We're always here to tell you about something
great going on out there. We'll do it again for
you coming up at Nine's funny this morning. You're at
Star one o five.
Speaker 4 (09:01):
Four and stuff movies, music and all the gossip in
one place.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
It's the celebrities group on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 4 (09:10):
Actress Hayden Panitier is reacting to the controversy surrounding her
slurred speech and dead looking eyes in a new People
magazine story. So she's actually the cover story, and viewers
noted that she was articulating things very slowly and softly.
She is talking about a very sensitive topic, the passing
(09:33):
of her younger brother and only sibling, Jansen, back in
twenty twenty three.
Speaker 8 (09:38):
There's there's nothing like I mean, he was my only
sibling and he is my younger sibling, and it was
my job to protect him. And when I lost him,
I felt like I lost yah my soul.
Speaker 4 (09:54):
Hayden has now appeared on Instagram, hosting a lengthy message
yesterday addressing fan cond troversy over her sobriety, wondering if
she was either drunk or maybe on drugs for this thing.
A lot of fans even commenting People should never have
published this video. She writes, It's unfathomable I'm even in
this position. I hadn't slept for two days prior to
(10:18):
the shoot. It was an eight hour shoot followed by
an on camera interview that was supposed to only last
for an hour. The interview started well, and for the record,
it's beginning not even included in the version that People
Magazine posted. I was exhausted. My reps stopped the interview
early as it became obvious I was fading, especially as
the subject matter became heavier. We asked the interviewer if
(10:40):
we could redo it another day or do a follow
up on zoom. She assured us it wasn't necessary, and
she felt it was an emotional and heartfelt interview.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
We were also.
Speaker 4 (10:49):
Told they would edit it and make it into a
beautiful piece. They don't grant approval for images or video
interviews before they run. I have no say in anything.
I see it as soon as it goes live, she said.
Grief looks different on everyone. Whether or not I am
on medication is none of anyone's business. It's between me
and my doctor. Like I've said before, I'm a work
in progress. We all are.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
Oh, everything about that seems kind of slimy, especially the
part where she's like, no, no, no.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
This interview is heartfelt. It's fine.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
I definitely want to use this because it's going to
give me a lot of clicks.
Speaker 4 (11:23):
The People magazine, Yeah, I think it's really slimy of them.
People were getting absolutely trashed on TikTok. I looked again
this morning, and people were like, this is just not
even professional journalism for you to put something like this out.
She is clearly struggling, and this was really really low.
Eva and M has apparently been warning us for years
about Diddy's behavior, and fans are now pointing to one
(11:45):
of his new songs that dropped in July, and when
you listen, really listen to the lyrics, it's very very
interesting how they are pointing out what a monster he's been.
Speaker 5 (11:57):
Say this a he didn't just failed the word rapper
relieve out at fat did he?
Speaker 1 (12:05):
Yep, Poppy?
Speaker 2 (12:06):
It's really really interesting.
Speaker 4 (12:08):
A lot of fans have been resharing it on TikTok,
saying that the word play is pointing out exactly what
Diddy's allegations have been. Said one person saying Eminem and
fifty cent have been chasing p Diddy for years, trying
to tell us all. He has a lyrical genius that
has absolutely told us in kill shop exactly what happened.
Of course, Diddy is still fighting those nasty, nasty allegations,
(12:32):
and it's people like Eminem and fifty that have not
been seen around him and are not one of those
people that have been seen in pictures and at parties
and are now kind of answering these awkward questions like
what did you know?
Speaker 1 (12:42):
While Eminem's you know doing and through his lyrics, fifty
has not been so subtle fifty Cents, it's been all
over the place calling him out.
Speaker 4 (12:50):
Finally, epic weekend in Vegas, our iHeartRadio Music Festival went down.
Just a few of the huge names performing. We heard
from Dualipa. Can you look Bayo Halsey Hosier did incredible.
Speaker 5 (13:14):
Give me a rest.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
Everybody looks she can't.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
But I'm here to shut down.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
One of the big rumors that came out of the festival,
Dosha Cat is not engaged. She had an incredible performance
as well, at one point flashing a big old rock
on that very important finger to the crowd who went
absolutely wild. But her rep is saying, oh, it was
part of the act and she is not officially engaged.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
Dot doing dose Cat thing.
Speaker 4 (14:00):
All of your celeb scoop, including tons of backstage content
from our festival, West Michigan start.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
Good morning to you. It's Mack and Schmidty and it
was pretty crazy. We talked about it this morning. Fall
Equinox hit at what'd you say?
Speaker 2 (14:13):
Eight forty forty four am Eastern Yesterday.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
Morning, Yesterday morning, Fall officially hit and man like just
smacked right into a Saturday, pure summer fall on Sunday.
Speaker 4 (14:25):
And it was deal stunning. It was absolutely the greatest day. Like,
what is your favorite part of fall? Because I know
so many people it feels very split. It's black and white.
You either love summer and you just dread it coming
to an end. You've been so excited that we've had
this unseasonably warm weather, or you're someone like my very
best friend, and it's like, as soon as the fourth
(14:46):
of July is over, she wants sweaters, jeans, boots, like
give me that crisp, amazing fall. And we got it yesterday.
And I just I feel like a lot of us do.
I've been running full tilt every day between job responsibilities,
life responsibilities, mom responsibilities, and yesterday we had nothing planned
(15:08):
and I get up, I'm like, oh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
It's raining, it's breezy.
Speaker 4 (15:12):
We turned off the ac, we opened the windows, football
was on, Chris was making soup, and I'm like, even
mother Nature felt that we all needed this Sunday reset.
Like I just sat in a blanket all day. You know,
I did a little bit of work, but I just
felt so refocused. And I think it has a lot
(15:36):
to do with the weather. I don't know if that's
some of you guys too, but I feel like a
lot of my my body and mind is really set
to what the weather's doing. Like if it's really human,
you kind of feel just knocked out a life and
you don't have a lot of go get it effort.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
If it's really cold, you just you got to conserve,
and then you're really lazy.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
But gosh, yesterday was absolutely ideal. So I put up
this video of how I spent my Sunday. Was asking like,
what your favorite favorite part of fall was. We got
so many incredible comments. Danielle, Oh, I'm gonna do comfort
food and football, and I said, give me that comfort food.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
She was making gulash and garlic bread. Oh, like anything
with cheese on. It was so great.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
Yesterday, Gula.
Speaker 1 (16:22):
No one has ever done anything productive while eating goulash.
That is a just relax and chill.
Speaker 4 (16:29):
Nobody's ever made silash wrong. You cannot make gulash wrong.
It is delicious, no matter what what's happen. It's putting
wood in the fireplace. Oh yeah, we all those turned
on the fire yesterday.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
We really did.
Speaker 4 (16:43):
I just it was exactly what was necessary. I felt
like my kids were chilled out. Maybe you snoozed on
the couch as you heard it raining.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
It was screaming, scream and sleep. But you said one
thing that just triggered the fall, you know, the fall
explosion inside of me.
Speaker 3 (16:58):
And that was soup. Yeah, it's sup y'all soup on Yeah,
I mean it was immediately.
Speaker 1 (17:04):
I came in actually from outside doing some yard work,
and all of a sudden, I'm like, what are you
guys having for lunch? And both of my kids go, oh,
we're having soup. But I'm like, yes, we're all having.
Speaker 4 (17:15):
Christ Is Chili is the greatest thing in the entire world.
Speaker 2 (17:20):
His chicken noodle soup.
Speaker 3 (17:22):
Oh he does. He homemade chicken noodle.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
Everything is homemade for him.
Speaker 4 (17:27):
I mean, even though it's gonna be sunny today, it's
still gonna be like seventy, it still look crisp.
Speaker 2 (17:32):
Six one six, four five eight one oh five seven?
Join me, won't you? In our fall fields? Grab blank?
Speaker 4 (17:39):
Bring a blanket to work today? Oh, put on the
cozy uggs.
Speaker 9 (17:44):
The human torch was denied a bangalo.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
Allow us to save you a little time as you
try and waste your time at work this morning by
going ahead and giving you the headlines to the articles
you're going to click on.
Speaker 3 (17:56):
Anyway.
Speaker 4 (17:58):
A Chinese zoo has admitted their pandas were just painted dogs.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
Did you see the photos of the videos?
Speaker 4 (18:05):
You had a video and honestly, you're still getting my ticket.
They're super cutee.
Speaker 1 (18:10):
Oh, California man discovers he's paid his neighbor's electricity bill
for up to eighteen years.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
Wow, best neighbor. Evere.
Speaker 4 (18:20):
Police have arrested a teen girl they say stole a
New York City subway train and took it on a
joy ride. Police say a pair boarded and unoccupied training
queens and somehow got it running.
Speaker 8 (18:34):
Man.
Speaker 3 (18:34):
The Kia boys are levy.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
Smitty. Python squeezes thie woman for two hours. The story
was everywhere. I don't know if you saw this woman
was squeezed by a giant python for over an hour
before somebody hurt her. Took another hour to get the
python off of Herschmidty.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
I didn't know it took that long.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
Yeah, two hours. I mean, you know what, everybody likes
a hug. That's a little much, ad bine.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
I think this is justice served.
Speaker 4 (19:02):
An unruly passenger aboard in Australian flight that had to
divert because of his behavior now has to pay for
the plane's gas no way gap over six thousand dollars
in fuel, on top of all of the other fines
he was given because they had to turn around. I
have never seen a better example of keep backing that
way and I'll turn this car right back around.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
She beent a vessel rescued in English channel after emergency
call to Dover, Delaware instead of Dover, England. I would
do the same thing people were sinking on the English
channel and called the Dover emergency contact across the pond.
Hang on one second, allow me to reach back across
(19:46):
the pond to actually get you help.
Speaker 4 (19:47):
That's why when it says allow your location on the iPhone,
you're gonna want to click yes.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
Do you think that when they got through to like
the Dover emergency people that are like, why don't you
have any type of accent?
Speaker 3 (19:59):
What's so? What is happening to?
Speaker 2 (20:01):
I would have someone had just hung up.
Speaker 3 (20:05):
That's this week's headlines.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
You say, any great ones out there, you always just
got to send them our way out right at West Michigan,
Star on Facebook.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
Nties music, and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 1 (20:17):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 4 (20:22):
Usher is fighting back claims he deleted his entire ex
feed because of potential problems with the ditty case. So
fans had noticed that his entire feed was gone, and
had reached out in comments saying what's the deal here?
Some questioning the timing of what appeared to be a
(20:43):
social media cleanse in light of Usher's professional relationship with
Sean Ditty Combs, of course, arrested last week on federal
sex trafficking and racketeering charges. Usher worked with him from
a very young age. In fact, their history goes all
the way back to his ninety four debut album, which
comes executive produced. Remember, people have got a keen eye
(21:04):
right now because they feel like this is going to
be very Epstein like where there are some big names
that could come out as this investigation continues. Usher eventually
breaking a silence last night, writing my account got hacked
and Dan y'all really ran with it. See you tonight
at Into It Dome, one of his performance spots.
Speaker 2 (21:25):
It's interesting.
Speaker 4 (21:26):
Along with Usher's name trending yesterday, so was popstar Pink,
who also looks to have an xpeed that was completely deleted,
and I chok this morning she still hadn't how many
posts up.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
Yeah, I was curious whether or not those two things
were timed about at the same time or related Usher, though,
I mean you would assume has some of that inside
information on the life of Ditty, just because, as you said,
he was living with Ditty when he was fifteen years old.
Speaker 4 (21:50):
Remember when I did this story was a few months ago.
He was I think, on the Howard Stern Show and
they asked him about his parties and Usher's like, ah, listen,
I'm not I don't know exactly what went down. I'll
just tell you I wouldn't go. And they asked me, like,
would you ever go to like Diddy's camp, And He's like,
oh no. So you wonder if there were some things
(22:11):
that he at least was a little curious about. Travis
Kelsey did not look good yesterday and leave it to
the internet to jump on the breakup rumors. So he
was playing a course against Atlanta, and of course Taylor
Swift not at the game, which is what started this rumor.
Mel Struggling to make an impact in the twenty two
(22:33):
to seventeen victory for Kansas, Kelsey only had four catches
for thirty yards and at one point was benched. He
could be seen rubbing his eyes and kind of staring
off into space very despondently. A lot of commons popping
up saying Taylor is a no show. She was actually
in a girls' night in New York City with Gigi
(22:54):
Hadid avoiding photogs the night before, people saying this man
looks hi yard. One user even writing, oh, no, he's
been swifted now. Obviously it could just be yeah, he's exhausted.
This might be his last season with the NFL. I
don't know if they've actually broken up. I think it's
(23:14):
fair to say Taylor doesn't have to come to every
single NFL game, but we'll see the internet things differently.
Speaker 3 (23:20):
Just throw this out there. What was the date of
that contractual breakoup?
Speaker 2 (23:26):
I think so twenty eight.
Speaker 4 (23:28):
Finally, our iHeart Radio music festival over the weekend with
huge performances, including the weekend debuting brand new music on
the stage.
Speaker 2 (23:54):
It's really good.
Speaker 4 (23:55):
Kind of gives you that like Latino Vibe. It's gotten
a lot of positive critique from the fans that were there,
and Big Sean was when I was most favorite to
see Detroit's own on stage. But I wanted to point
this out after he got off the stage, actually brought
his dad to Vegas with him and had something really
cool to say, so.
Speaker 6 (24:14):
Dad, So I was talking with my dad just now,
and you know, we woke up in Vegas and we
needed Sunday, We needed a word.
Speaker 5 (24:21):
You know.
Speaker 6 (24:21):
We woke up in sin City and he was like
what I said to him, He was like, Yo, you
need to like say this song.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
There's a lot of people that need to hear this.
Speaker 6 (24:28):
Right. What I said was I've said it before too,
is that communication is the bridge to salvation that God
is holding our hand to walk across. Right, just like
any other bridge, you can't skip a step to make
it to the other side.
Speaker 2 (24:41):
Preach it, big Sean. We got a little Sunday word
from him after the.
Speaker 1 (24:44):
Festival representing Michigan in Detroit. Well right there, he really is.
Speaker 4 (24:48):
All of your celeb scoop, including lots of other backstage
moments from our iHeartRadio Music Festival West Michigan Star dot Com.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
It's time to you throw down Battle of the Sexes
here on your Monday morning, and we are trying to
get you in to see the one and only Stevie
Nicks tomorrow night. You don't know how many more chances
you'll get to see Stevie Schmidde.
Speaker 2 (25:09):
Yeah, this is that rescheduled show. Everybody was so bummed
that she was sick.
Speaker 4 (25:12):
Before you know, she's gonna show up even bigger Tomorrow night,
final shot, today and tomorrow for Stevie Nicks tickets With
the number one answer, one hundred women surveyed what's something
you wish your partner would do without being asked?
Speaker 1 (25:25):
I learned this weekend that it was to get an
oil change because I pointed out that my wife was
a couple thousand miles over her scheduled oil chain and
she was like, huh, you have that information and yet
my car.
Speaker 4 (25:36):
Still and I love her for it. Six one, six, four, five, eight,
one oh five seven. One hundred women surveyed what's something
you wish your partner would do? With how number one answer?
Caller seven, First shot and you're going to Stevie.
Speaker 8 (25:50):
Nicks with.
Speaker 3 (25:53):
The morning Star.
Speaker 5 (25:53):
Who's this is Susan?
Speaker 3 (25:55):
Susan, where are you calling from today?
Speaker 8 (25:57):
I am calling from Bedford, Michigan.
Speaker 3 (25:59):
Right. Let's see if we can get you in to
see Stevie Nixt tomorrow night. Susan.
Speaker 1 (26:02):
One hundred women were asked to name something that y'all
wish your partner would do without having to be asked.
Speaker 3 (26:10):
What do you think their top answer was there, clean up,
pick up after himself.
Speaker 1 (26:13):
A lot of guys feeling like you're talking about us
right now, to pick up after ourselves. A lot of
guys feeling very seen right now. I can't put my
socks in the laundry basket every time, every single time.
Speaker 3 (26:27):
I can't be expected to do that.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
I'm sorry, Susan, but cleaning up after yourself is the
top answer.
Speaker 3 (26:32):
Of course. Congratulation, Susan. You're going to Stevie Nicks.
Speaker 1 (26:35):
Oh my god, thank you so much. See now, all
you know, all those dirty clothes, all the slobbiness of
a guy, it paid off big time for you.
Speaker 5 (26:45):
God bless you, guys.
Speaker 6 (26:46):
I'm numb right now.
Speaker 8 (26:48):
So yeah, I got a little so good.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
Yeah, I love it. Stevie Nicks tomorrow night and we
will have one more chance for you to win those
tickets too. You're listening tomorrow morning at eight fifteen here
on Star. Congrats, Thank you.
Speaker 5 (27:01):
So much, guys, you guys her face.
Speaker 3 (27:06):
Good morning to you. It's Mack and Schmitty.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
And of course, if you're a Lions fan over the weekend,
a Tiger's fan, a Michigan fan, you were having a
pretty good weekend of Sports. But I want to know
when being a fan actually caused you physical pain, Schmitty,
because I saw something that honestly just made me laugh
hysterically at no end because at the Michigan game. I
got to go to the Michigan game on Saturday versus
(27:30):
USC great game. First stripeouts in the history of Michigan
Stadium looked really cool. They did it in the form
of the winged helmet. But what was right behind me, Schmitty,
was the best part of the game that ended, by
the way, in an amazing final drive touchdown for Michigan.
But the best part of the game was the three
dudes behind me, Schmitty, who were with their three girlfriends.
(27:52):
But the guys were massive Michigan fans, and because it
was a stripe out, we were in a maze section,
and these guys went all out for it. They painted
their entire chests maze with big block ms on them,
and then they painted their faces half blue and half yellow.
I don't know how much time you spent out on
(28:14):
side on Saturday, but it was roasting and they were
in a stadium with one hundred and ten thousand people
with the sun baking directly down on them, schmitty, And
it was a maybe fifteen to twenty minute progression of
hilarities where all I saw was these guys show up,
they're amped, their girlfriends are with them, They've got maybe
(28:35):
like ems on their cheeks, but nowhere near These guys
went all out with the face paint and the body paint,
and within a few minutes of cheering, goes, oh, oh man,
it's their eyes. I'm they started getting the blue paint
smearing down their faces. Smitty, They're starting to like, oh
my god, oh it's it's so I can't open them.
(28:55):
I can't see anything. Babe, babe, babe. I think I
heard the word at least one hundred and forty sevens
knew it right away.
Speaker 4 (29:02):
I had that problem on stage like four times, the
huge beating lights of the stage, and all of a sudden,
your eye and facial makeup is in there, and you're like, oh, well,
I hope that I'm okay blind for the rest of
my life.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
We are in the middle of the stands, okay, there's
like nowhere to go. These guys start pouring water on
their faces. Their poor girlfriends have to use their shirts
in order to help these guys get there.
Speaker 4 (29:26):
Yeah, I hope they didn't get the paint off Amazon.
Good lord knows what just went into your eyeball.
Speaker 1 (29:31):
And I don't know if you guys h you know
you're aware of your primary colors. But blue and yellow
go together and create green. So buy about ten minutes
of this smitty. All you see is a blend of
green around these guys is next. Oh a terrible experience
for them, but for me just awesome. But when has
been a fan actually hurt you? We got this going
on Facebook at West Michigan.
Speaker 3 (29:52):
Star sometime because I'd get a good.
Speaker 1 (29:59):
F I'm here to give you that extra push, that
extra boast, sweete on a Monday morning, feeling good on
Stavo Fanfoint seven.
Speaker 3 (30:05):
What's going on, Swinney, Well, you.
Speaker 4 (30:07):
Might not want to have the mascara on for this
one because it is really moving a bus stop unlike
any other as a community in Hudsonville has rallied around
a terminally ill friend. For nine years, Mike Hoachstra has
been a bus driver for Hudsonville Public Schools.
Speaker 2 (30:24):
And the group he has found he considers family.
Speaker 9 (30:27):
When I joined bus driving like nine years ago, I
didn't know I was going to join a family. I
was really really struck by that. And they are great people.
Speaker 4 (30:37):
They are great people, and you could hear those great
people in the background rallying around a man who has.
Speaker 2 (30:43):
Just a few weeks left to live.
Speaker 4 (30:44):
See back in February of twenty twenty two, Hoachstra's life
was changed forever. He was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer. Unfortunately,
it's progressed to his liver, and doctor says he only
has so many weeks to live. One of Hoaksterra's dying
wishes was to ride in a hot air balloon with
his wife and four kids. He tells Fox seventeen It's
(31:05):
always something that I wanted to do, But he had
no idea his fellow bus drivers from Hudsonville Public Schools
were going to surprise him as he flew in the air.
Teresa Frenz, a friend, helped organize the surprise. Over fifty
bus drivers and their families parked their buses in a
field and spelled out we love you as hoakster could
(31:28):
see it floating above, completely blown away. And while his
days may be numbered, he remains very faithful and very thankful.
Speaker 9 (31:37):
No matter what God is good and no matter what happens,
he is with me. They've taken care of me and
my family through this very difficult time and it was
really neat for them to show their love in this way.
Speaker 2 (31:52):
Oh my gosh, I just posted the picture to our Facebook.
It is probably one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
Speaker 3 (31:58):
Honestly, Schmidie.
Speaker 1 (31:59):
I'm blown away by this, the way that they did it,
and to surprise him with the hot air balloon ride
that he always wanted to go on, and to see
that below, like, I can't imagine the chills look at it.
Speaker 2 (32:08):
It's a memory his family will have forever, which is priceless.
Speaker 3 (32:11):
All Right.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
You know, when it comes to finding treasure, you never
know where it's going to turn up. But when it
comes to parenting, I can tell you with an eleven
year old, I try not to take my kids thrifteen
or to garage sales because they find all sorts of
junk that they think is treasure.
Speaker 3 (32:25):
Well, you never know, and that's going to be true,
and it was for this eleven year old boy.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
His name is Matt Winter, lives across the pond, and
thirteen years ago he actually saw this black and white
print that was about to be thrown out at a
dumb site, and he asked the woman who was going
through sorting things if he could keep it. He said,
he thought it looked interesting, so he did, and he
kept that thing for thirteen years in his basement, and
(32:50):
then all of a sudden decided to see if it
was worth anything well blown away to find out it
was actually a sixteenth century German Renaissance engraving by alf
BREKF Dueer, a painter and printmaker considered one of the
most gifted artists of all time. Apparently this piece was
famous and is known as Night Death and the Devil
(33:10):
was completed Get This in fifteen thirteen and as one
of his most famous works. As I said, they just
sold it at auction for almost forty five thousand dollars.
Again that he picked up because he said he has
an eye for antiques and has since he was ten
years old. S middy, that's been nice, Just craziness, but
feeling good. Always here to lift your spirits or tell
(33:32):
you about something awesome that's going on out there. And
we do it for you again tomorrow six forty five
and nine twenty every weekday.
Speaker 3 (33:37):
Here at startin a five point seven
Speaker 1 (33:39):
Mack and Schmidty in the morning weekday, starting at six
am on Star one oh five point seven
