Speaker 1 (00:02):
Wakem It gets my day going and makes me lamb.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
It Mac and Schmitty in the morning on Star one
of five point seven. Oh, good morning, Schmitty, Hey, good morning,
Welcome into your Wednesday. Hey, I gotta ask you on
that way in did you happen to glance up at
the super bright and absolutely gorgeously detailed moon today?

Speaker 3 (00:24):
No, I had a spooky moon today. Good spine was
covered in clouds. It was like very Halloween if you
were on the road at four am, it was a
very different looking moon. I thought, Oh my gosh, my
kids would adore this for the Halloween trick or treating vibe.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Yeah, it was like, oh, we got the big flashlight
in the sky this morning. But yeah, creepy four am
Moon's that's giving you vibes on a Wednesday for sure.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Yeah, something like that.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
But you know, we got another cool one on your hands.
It was starting out in the high thirties around West
Michigan this morning. We'll get up in the mid fifties today.
But here's some good news with that. We got this
little fall cool down going on. We're gonna get a
little fall warm up as we head into the weekend.
I'm gonna get a lot of sunshine. Temp's will be
close to seventy degrees, and you know what, you're basically
halfway there. So we're gonna make this a great clothes.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
Out of the word movies, music, and all the gossip
in one place.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
Well, for the first time ever, Bronni James is opening
up about the cardiac arrest he experienced at USC. The
nineteen year old now Lankers rookie admitting he's still not
fully recovered. Sitting down with Men's Health, he said, my
days are not normal anymore. The cover story just dropping
yesterday afternoon. I still feel like I'm getting back. I'm

(01:37):
getting back to where I was. This is the oldest
son of lebron James. Of course, late July of last year,
he was on a scrimmage when all of a sudden,
boom collapsed to the floor. Now, luckily, USC was equipped
with medical equipment and trainers who were able to resuscitate him.
Bronnie says that he is doing better. He's lowered the
dosage of his heart meds since the incident and really

(01:59):
wants to focus on taking the court alongside dad. He says,
I'd like to envision where I'd be if I found
complete piece in everything, You know what I'm saying. I'd
like to think about where I'd be if I were
just in this state of mind, closing my eyes, breathing,
being thankful, which is probably a really big help to
his health as well.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
You know, it's kind of just an incredible story all
the way around to see his recovery and now getting
to tell you alongside his dad, the first time a
son and a father ever on the bord together, just
going to be a fascinating story to watch, and is official.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
Tom Brady getting a piece of the Las Vegas Raiders,
the legendary NFL quarterbacks bid to buy a minority stake
in the franchise was officially approved yesterday during the league's
fall meeting. So he agreed to terms with Raiders owner
Mark Davis actually back in May of last year, but
then had to go through you know, dotting the ice,

(02:50):
crossing the t's. So this is going to have a
pretty big impact on Tom's day job. However, you remember
ten years, three hundred and seventy five million dollars broadcasting
deal with Fox, meaning he will not be allowed in
production meetings with players and coaches for the Raiders. He
cannot visit other teams facilities, or criticize referees during games,

(03:14):
among other restrictions that have been placed on him since
he still has such an active role in the league.
Very excited, issuing an official statement last night saying he
was incredibly humbled and excited. Football has been part of
my entire life growing up in the Bay Area, and
in so many ways, my football life and journey has
finally come full circle. It's a blessing to know I'll

(03:34):
be involved in the greatest league in the world for
the rest of my life.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
It's pretty dang interesting to think of the conflicts of
interest that they have to go through.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
That very interesting, and when you look at this list
of restrictions, I'm very curious as to how he's going
to navigate that when you're in the moment trying to
do commentary on.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
The air, especially like not commenting on the officiating. That's
part of the game, man, you got to be interesting.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Finally, Dancing with the Stars had an exceptionally moving moment
last night, as Derek Huff welcomed his wife Haley to
the ballroom, the first time she's danced in public like
that following her emergency brain surgery last year. Oh. They
danced to Benson Boone's Beautiful Things, very emotional, everyone in tears. Afterwards.

(04:23):
They had such beautiful things to say about Haley's recovery.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
The doctors came out to us and said, hey, Derek,
this is this is a miracle, and I said, yeah,
yeah it is, and he says, no, Derek, this is
a miracle.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
We were on the hospital together when you were going
through everything, and wow, what a difference from then until now.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
You never know what you're capable of until you go
through something like this.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
So I'm really proud of myself. I'm proud of my body,
how I came through this. It was really cool. Last
night was dedication night, So after the dance, Derek stepped
back down onto one knee and just kind of praised
his wife while the entire ballroom went wild. It was
really cool.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
That's pretty good, incredible recovery.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
All of your video two with that with your scoop
at West Michigan Star dot com.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Sometimes does that get a good feeling. Yeah, let's get
into some positivity to start this day. Out, shall we.
It's feeling good right now in starto five points saven
And of course every Lion's fan washing on Sunday devastated
when they saw star defensive end Aiden Hutchinson go down.
I mean, the hometown kid who was doing it right

(05:33):
in the NFL broke that Tibbia gonna be out for
four to six months, likely done for the season, and
some of his littlest yet biggest fans wanted to make
sure they knew that they had his back, just like
he's had theirs. So I'm talking about the kids at
Mott's Children's Hospital in ann Arbor.

Speaker 5 (05:51):
See.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
At mott Children's Hospital, Aiden's been visiting those kids for years,
well before he was in the NFL, back when he
was a player at the University of Michigan off visiting.
Even went there on Christmas Day one year to hang
with the kids. And so when they saw his injury
and knew that their hero needed some assistance, needed some help,
they were there with some words of encouragement. You there

(06:15):
for there for you. You better hike. You can give
us aidan you got kron Hey.

Speaker 6 (06:23):
Hutch It's Connor praying for a speedy recovery.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
You've got this big id. You have kid after kid
lining up to offer their support to Aiden Hudginson after
he had gone to the hospital so many times to
offer his support, all of them holding these water jugs.
A sign that Aiden has every pregame where he writes
the name of one of those children at cs Mott
right there on his water jug. One of those kids

(06:51):
was a three year old Owen Owen McGhee who is
currently in remission from four stage four neuroblastoma SCHMIDI. But
according to his mom, all those words of encouragement from
Aiden help them find the joy.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
We always say that joy is not defined by our circumstances.
We can always still find the joy in these tragic moments,
and we know that Aiden and his family will do
that because that's what they've brought us by coming here,
knowing that these children look up to him as a
mentor and they see him on TV. It is really
cool that he's using his platform to come and hang

(07:25):
out with these kids.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
That's right, dudes at All Star on and off the field,
So a big shout out there. I'll put the video
up West Michigan Star dot com. It is absolutely beautiful
going to bring some water works for sure.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
All right. From one NFL team to another. The Baltimore
Ravens had a good win over the Washington Commanders back
on Sunday, But it was the hope and inspiration behind
that whin I thought was worth bringing up today. Coach
John Harbaugh actually moving his press conference earlier in order
to make it to a funeral. See before that game,

(07:56):
he lost a very close family friend and as he
told reporters, that woman was a huge part of the
team bringing that heart to the game as well.

Speaker 5 (08:05):
Someone that made a big difference that we've known for
a long time in our lives and someone that made
a difference actually in the game this week. And her
name is Rachel, and she's been a family friend for
a long time, and she's been battling cancer for over
ten years and she's been doing great against it and
dominating it and outlived all predictions and had a great

(08:28):
life with her family for the past number of years
and just was an inspiration as far as who she was.
And we talked to the team about her and the
team center some encouraging messages on video and to her
family that they can cherish now. And she passed on Friday,
So our guys took it to heart and it was
something that was meaningful to him, and I think it
kind of they carried it with him into the game.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
He said they had a really special moment in the
locker room before and after as well. Rachel's family really
thankful about that. It was a pretty moving moment.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
Yeah, sometimes it's about more than sports, and that's what
both of these stories today. I'm feeling good given to you,
and we're always here to point out people doing great
things out there. We want to do it again for
you this morning, coming up nine twenty this morning, another
dose is feeling good right here on starmino five point seven.

Speaker 4 (09:11):
Movies, music and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
It's the celebrities gooop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
Yet another new lawsuit for Ditty this morning, this time
from a woman who says he used to TV remote
to assault her as payback for her believing he had
something to do with Tupac's murder. Being sued by a
woman named Ashley parm She claims Diddy assaulted her after
she dissed him on a FaceTime call. The documents just

(09:42):
launched in court. Apparently this was Back in twenty eighteen,
she met a friend of Ditty's at a bar. He
called Diddy on FaceTime, and Parm says she wasn't very
impressed by the guy's famous friend, telling Diddy to his
face she thought he played a part in POC's death.
From there, she's alleging that Ditty's friend set her up
to actually meet Ditty about a month later, when the

(10:05):
assault happened. She said it could have gotten even more violent,
except that Ditty's consultant, who was there too, told him
not to do any physical damage because they could sell
her as a potential client. Here's what's even more interesting.
Harm is alleging that Diddy then called his mom to
try and get Ashley to not tell anybody about what happened.

(10:28):
She's claiming that Janice Comb's said, no way, my son
did this. You keep your mouth shut, and completely brushed
off all Palm's claims about Diddy assaulting her. It's very
interesting to point out as well, Palm's attorneys in this lawsuit,
not Tony Busby, who's the Houston attorney with one hundred
and twenty other victims.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
The allegations that are outlined in this one Schmitty are
absolutely disgusting, and I know you had to censor yourself
on air to even talk about this story.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
Took a lot words out.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Yeah, it is so horrific to me. The only thing
that I take from this is at least there are
several named witnesses that can, you know, coroborate or deny
some of this stuff, because man, I hope that if
this happened, that they've got people who are willing to
talk about it and that justice will be served here here.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
It is people willing to talk about it. Britney Spears
talking about her girl crushes in an Instagram story posted
last night. She kind of went on a big, old,
lengthy caption here, saying women I genuinely admire and have
crazy girl crushes on. She says, Pamela Lee Anderson, a
classic babe that seems so sweet. Natalie Portman because I

(11:42):
feel like she's the coolest person I ever met outside
with her dog in New York and we have the
sink shirt on. Give me look at Byoh the singer
because she is so darn pretty and makes me giggle
out loud. She says, Kendall Jenner, is it even normal
to be that pretty. The other two Selena Golm and
Drew Barrymore. They are literally gorgeous. Sorry, I'm writing a

(12:05):
novel about myself, but I just would really love to
get silly with these girls.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
He got good taste. Those are all great.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
Great girl, hang, wasn't it, Brittany? And finally, does coach
Dan Campbell believe the Lions can win a Super Bowl
without Aiden Hutchinson. Of course, that tibbia amphibula break that
is going to have him out most likely for the season,
but with some possibility of maybe making it back for

(12:31):
the postseason. Dan had that to say it last night.

Speaker 7 (12:34):
Listen, my job is to coach what's here, and I'm
going to coach the hell out of them, and we
are as a staff and so yeah, I do. And
if we get some money, great, If we don't, these
are our guys, and the coaches know that this is
what we came into camp with, this is why we
develop talent, and this next man up and they got
to be ready to go.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
Man sounds pretty confident.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
I mean, the guy makes me want to do push
ups every time I hear his Yes.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
All of your celeb scoop at West Michigan start off.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
I'm on Antio. It's back and Schmidty and we've seen
our first string of thirty some degree days here schmide
at least over night overnight.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
Yeah, it's not the same days because some of us
are really hanging on and we're not turning on our
heat yet. I feel like in Michigan especially, it's a
point of pride, like how long can you go before
you crank the furnace on? And I've got to call
out my brother because he turned his heat on for

(13:28):
his cat.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
He's he would you describe your brother as like a
cat man, like a cat guy.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
So this is for those of you familiar with me.
I have three brothers. This is my middle brother, who
I'm probably closest to. He's the one here in Grand
Rapids on the other tour in Detroit, so we're pretty tight.
And his cat's name is Mick. And Uh, Jordan is
obsessed with Mick. He is a one hundred and fifty
percent cat dad.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (13:55):
He buys Mick, staying of the art everything like mix Scott,
the best cat condo, the best blankets. Like my brother
works from home and still we'll have a television program
on in the living room so Mick doesn't get lonely.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
Is this Mick on?

Speaker 3 (14:13):
This is Mick on our Facebook at West Michigan Star.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
So cute cat, but you can tell life.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
I literally texted my brother last night when I wanted
to talk about this, and I said, Hey, can I
grab a picture of Mick? He said, Oh, I've got plenty.
Do you want sassy tired or just overall too dang cute?

Speaker 2 (14:34):
Does he have those broken up in a different album phone?
He does, I've seen it, Sassy pick.

Speaker 3 (14:38):
He's got like the furbie. So if he's ever out
of that like, we will hang out. He'll come over
to our house, him and his wife, and he will
probably check his phone twenty thirty times to see how
Mick is doing this. He loves his cat so much.
So he mentioned this the other day when we were
out to dinner. I said, you turned her hand and
goes yeah, and I see his wife, my sister in law,
kind of roll her eyes. He said, it has not

(15:00):
been that cold like overnight. I get it, but honestly,
it's gonna be seventy again in a few days. He goes,
you don't understand. The other day, Nick watched by me
and his paws were so chilly. I have to turn
it on. He's Lauren, He's uncomfortable. I'm not gonna have
him walking around on our cold, hardwood floors. There's not
enough blankets to even make him cozy. So I turned
it on, and you know what, he's so happy. He

(15:22):
just hangs in the bathroom right by the vent, and
I know that I'm doing a good job of giving
him his best life.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
I didn't know that they pulled your man card at
the animal shelter when you adopted.

Speaker 3 (15:30):
Pardon me, I'll be honest, you guys. I'm not even
turning the heat on for my human kids. Sure as
heck not doing it for my fur kids.

Speaker 2 (15:37):
It's called a sweatshirt. Put it on, you'll be fine.

Speaker 3 (15:40):
I mean, so I asked this question. I'm like, I'm
calling out my brother. He turned the heat on for
his cat, no other human in the house, the first cat.
And I'm asking people if you do over the top
stuff for your pets. And I was really surprised. Kim
admits her heats on pet. I turned the heat on
for me, but is my cat happy I've did that?

(16:00):
And then Lisa, who must be like one step away
from a cat spa that I just took in my
sister's senior cat, and the fear of anything happening to
her cat in my care was enough stress to turn
on the furnace and give my cat the most deluxe
lifestyle you've ever seen. So maybe I just missed the
memo on this, or.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
Maybe cats have just figured it out. Like in all
other ways, they are able to manipulate their humans into
doing whatever it is that they want.

Speaker 3 (16:26):
Is it a cat thing maybe, because like I have
two dogs, and honestly, I'm like, Pobe, go bury yourself
in some dirty laundry because like the furnace ain't going
on yet.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
Well, Wednesday's keeping it real with our parentinge screw ups.
It's another I told you about this, smitting how bad
I felt afterwards. But one of beautiful seventy plus degree
September days that we had, one of those really nice ones,
I took my entire family to the driving range for
the first time. Really cool. I thought we'd get out

(16:58):
there and swing. My daughter had been before my I've
been a top golf My son had never done it, though,
and my daughter had been building it up for my
son going. We get to ride a golf cart.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
That only reason I golf.

Speaker 2 (17:08):
I don't want to say where we're going, but you
have to drive the golf cart out to the driving range.
So that's what we do. My wife's in one cart
and I'm in the other one, and actually her brother
came along too, so we have two golf carts, but
I have both kids in mine, and so, you know,
dad in a golf cart with his kids. We're going fast,
We're taking some turns a little sharper, and we're having
a good time on the cart. We hit some balls.

(17:29):
We're on our way back, and my wife and her
brother take off first, and then the kids are arguing
about which one gets to sit on the outside because
on the way there, my son was in the middle,
my daughter was on the outside, and my son was like,
I want to sit out there. They're both doing it.
So I make the smart decision that I will sit
in the middle and drive the cart while both kids
still sit on the outsides, so that they both get it.
And it's fair, right, I'll be in a good dad

(17:50):
fairness sure, sure. Until I'm driving, and that we were
on our last turns, we're headed back to the clubhouse.
And I'm you know, it's golf carts. It's not going
that fast. But I hit the turn and twist the
wheel pretty hard on this. My son was not prepared.
And this kid tucked and rolled out of that golf
cart schmitty like I felt like he was a stunt
man in a Hollywood movie. But he was not prepared

(18:12):
for at all. It scared the Jesus out of him
and he immediately tears in his eyes all swell it up, like,
oh my god, it just fell out of a golf cart.
My stomach's in my butt. I'm freaking out it Are
you okay? And he gets up and he's like he's crying,
it's coming down, and I'm like, oh my gosh, buddy,
are you all right. He's like yeah, I think so.
And I'm like, you gotta get it together because mom

(18:33):
cannot find out that this happened, buddy. Immediately and he goes,
my son, what a trooper. I love you, Connor because
he just goes what golf cart passing along?

Speaker 3 (18:44):
The solid parenting lessons.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
Yeah, that secret lasted all of about five seconds once
we got into the car.

Speaker 4 (18:53):
Though, movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
The celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 3 (19:04):
Well, supermodel Ggi hadid dusting off the wings as the
iconic Victorious Secret Fashion Show made its return last night
after a five year break. Telling entertainment Tonight, she had
a little something planned as an homage to her bff
Taylor Swift.

Speaker 6 (19:20):
There's something on the runway tonight that is new for
at least me on this runway. I can't remember if
it's ever been done on the BS runway, but there's
an aspect to it that I was trained to do
by Taylor on her tour and one of her rehearsals
she was like, I'm gonna show you how we do this.
Did that and now I'm using it tonight.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
I call it the Aristour Easter Egg. As she got
to the end of the runway, she did Taylor's iconic wave,
which she pokes out one hip, raises that arm in
the air and then kind of does that spiral move.
So that was her little hay to Taylor, who was
apparently watching it home along with Gg's boyfriend Bradley Cooper.
As for the show itself, mixed reaction last night, a

(20:01):
lot of people calling it too woke. We did see
a lot of different people on the runway, other people
saying that they should have only given wings to the
original angels. A lot of people felt that that was
body shaming because it meant the curvy and plus size
women on the runway weren't deserving of the wings. So
I'm not really sure if Victoria's Secret is going to

(20:22):
be continuing this for much longer. It just feels like
every time they try, there's so much backlash. Is it
really worth it for your brand?

Speaker 2 (20:28):
Yeah, there is nothing they can do that they won't
get a big contingent of people going that's not fair
or that's just wrong. I mean, there's nothing to win with.

Speaker 3 (20:36):
Ditty is now arguing that prosecutors are making it impossible
for him to mount a defense because they refuse to
give him the names of his accusers Ditty's Ditty's legal
team filing new documents yesterday in court asking a federal
judge to direct the DA's office to identify the anonymous
alleged victims referred to in their indictment so he can

(20:59):
specific phyfically address the allegation that he abused, threatened, and
coerced women and others Diddy says once the names are revealed,
he believes there will be a voluminous amount of evidence
that interactions with these alleged victims were consensual, and he
is asking Feds to be way more specific about what

(21:20):
they're claiming as non consensual acts.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
I mean, this is a rough one, right, because you
feel like in any case, you should be able to
know who your accusers are, you know, outside of maybe
circumstances where they're miners, but otherwise, like in a lawsuit
with one hundred and twenty plaintiffs or whatever they've got
against him. Now, I'm pretty sure that stuff can be
kept under wraps. So that's interesting because that's not the
federal case. So that's what he's saying.

Speaker 3 (21:46):
Also, the team fights that this has had a pervasive
ripple effect, resulting in a torrent of allegations by unidentified complaintants,
talking about Tony Busby, who's the Houston attorney with one
hundred and twenty clients, he alleges and did he just
has no way of mounting any kind of defense when
he claims he has no idea why he was arrested

(22:06):
in the first place. Finally, did you see what went
down between the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets
last night. Woos makes Me want to cringe show.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
Hey.

Speaker 3 (22:18):
Otani and company obviously went into the lead for the
NLCS series thanks to a nine and zero win in
Game one, but they had a little help in the dugouts.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
Snake it's a real one too, not a frank.

Speaker 7 (22:38):
We've got snakes out of planes, snakes on a train,
and related Hollywood is snake in the dugout?

Speaker 3 (22:44):
Oh my gosh. Brent Honeywell spotted the snake as he
was coming down steps into the dugout. You could see
on the screen. He kind of jumped back and then
kind of waved to the other teammates like, we've got
a snake in here. Somebody boob actually picked it up
with a towel before removing it from the vicinity. Uh
uh uh, Flyve mascot, I'm absolutely not playing that game.

(23:05):
No mo to you tell me that there is no
snake within a thousand feet of that dugout. I got
the video up for he'ze pretty entertaining with your scoop
at West Michigan Star dot Com.

Speaker 2 (23:14):
Ready to battle Battle of this sex is look at me?
Gets you out for a whole bunch of family fun.

Speaker 3 (23:18):
Oh I'm so excited. So let's get a little preview
of this next week, The Ringling Brothers and Barnum and
Bailey are bringing the greatest show on Earth to Vanndle,
only a couple weeks away. Kicks off October twenty fifth.
You and the family want tickets? Give us today's number
one answer. One hundred women surveyed what should you have
in your car in case of emergency?

Speaker 2 (23:39):
No, one of my camping buddies actually keeps a flare
gun in his car at all times, he said, you're
supposed to have that. I get it for camping, but
for in your car. It would just be too tempting
for me to be bored someday and in the middle
of nowhere and not be like I want with shoot
off a flare gun.

Speaker 3 (23:53):
Which driver said the same for you as it was
for me, because a flare gun was listed on the
things to have in.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
Your car at all time? Have you ever had one
in your car?

Speaker 7 (24:01):
Well?

Speaker 3 (24:01):
No, but I've touched champagne flutes, so same things, honestly,
in the event of an emergency, and I can bore
some champagne to calm myself down while I'm sitting on
the side of the road. Six one, six, four five, eight,
one oh five seven. One hundred women surveyed what should
you have in your car in case of emergency? Caller seven?
First chance at the number one answer, and you're going

(24:22):
to the Greatest Show on Earth with Star Win. Oh
five point seven, Good morning, Star.

Speaker 2 (24:27):
Who's this? Hi? It's Chris and Jojo. Hi, Kristin and Jojo.
How you guys doing this morning? We're good? Where are
you calling from Grandville? All right? How old are you? Jojo? I?

Speaker 7 (24:41):
Eight almost?

Speaker 2 (24:44):
You said eight almost nine? So are you a third grader?

Speaker 3 (24:49):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (24:50):
Awesome? All right, Well, how about we send you to
the circus when you win today? You want to do that? Yeah,
all right, let's make it happen. Jojo, you gotta tell me.
When one hundred women were asked to aim something that
you keep in your car in case of emergency, what
do you think their top answer was? Cat? I'm sorry,

(25:12):
what did you say you think it is?

Speaker 3 (25:15):
Or a blanket or a blanket?

Speaker 2 (25:17):
Yeah, you gotta have those in there, maybe those reflective ones,
but I'm sorry, that's not on the list, Jojo. Another time?

Speaker 3 (25:26):
Okay, okay, all.

Speaker 2 (25:28):
Right, bye bye, I have a great day at school.
Good morning, star. Who's this? This is Julian, you said, Julian, Yeah,
CALLI Julian. All right, well let's see if you could
do better than eight year old Jojo that I just
had on here, but Julie and one hundred women were
asked to name something that you should always have in

(25:49):
your car in case of emergency. What do you think?

Speaker 3 (25:52):
Their top answer was, uh, me and my mom were
gonna say napkins.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
Gonna say napkins. You know what, jail right before they
set a blanket. I could tell the moms are in
full effect on this one. But no, that's not on
there either. I'm sorry. Oh, thank you, high star. Who's this?
Hi Carrie. I have had some real good guesses by
moms and their kids so far. What one hundred women

(26:18):
were asked to name something you see or excuse me,
to name something you should always have in your car
in case of emergency. I have so far heard emergency
blankets as well as napkins, which definitely come in handy
for the messier emergencies. But now, no, no, this is
more of a traditional thing that most people have in
their car. In one way, shape or form. What do

(26:38):
you think? That top answer is got to have a jack.
Gotta have what jack got? A spare tire? You know
what I have had that saved me many a time,
whether it's a donut or a full on replacement, it
gets you where you're going. You gotta have one spare tires.
The top answer, Well done. Yeah, here's some happy kids

(27:01):
in the car. You guys are going to check out
Ringling Brothers in Barnum and Bailey, the Greatest Show on
Earth later this month.

Speaker 6 (27:05):
Congrats, awesome, thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
You are so welcome. We'll do it again tomorrow. Battle
of the Sexes every weekday eight fifteen. Here on Star
one five point seven. Good morning, see you. It's mack
in Schmidty. And obviously you know driverless vehicles and driver
you know, assistance technology is going on everywhere right. Tesla's
doing stuff. We've got even shuttles here in Grand Rapids

(27:29):
that you know there's a driver in, but they're not
really driving. They're just sort of sitting there as you
go round downtown area.

Speaker 3 (27:34):
Yeah, they're like testing that out.

Speaker 2 (27:35):
Well, I went to Napa Valley and that included flying
into San Francisco. And spending a day there over the weekend.
Schmitty and of course San Francisco, Silicon Valley Tech, you know,
Mecca basically. And I was absolutely blown away by the
number of driverless taxis. And when I say driverless, I
mean one hundred percent driverless, no one in the car.

Speaker 3 (27:57):
There's no human being at the wheel at all.

Speaker 2 (27:59):
It is the company that is called Waimo one, and
it's like an app like uber that you get on
your phone. And when Michelle and I saw them we
were there, We're just blown away by how many of
them there are. There are more of those vehicles on
the roads in San Francisco, on those crazy up and
down hills, super populated streets with pedestrians all over the
place and weird crosswalks and bicycle lanes, and there are

(28:22):
robots driving people everywhere. I put this video up on
our Facebook page and our Instagram at West Michigan Star
where you can just kind of see the wheel doing
everything on its own. I'm trying to do it on
the pedals, just to see if the pedals move while
this robot is driving you. And all I kept thinking
is I can't believe how smooth this thing is. Driving.
I like changing lanes no problems, stopping for pedestrians, no problem.

(28:46):
You literally see an outline of every single human being
and their movements right in front of you on a
screen while there is no driver in there.

Speaker 3 (28:54):
It weird's me out.

Speaker 2 (28:55):
It was weird. It was like this creepy thing that
I just kept on saying to myself, this is where
we're going, Like everybody's gonna be chilling out without a vehicle,
just being driven around perfectly while they relax in a
car instead of thinking about driving, Like, I don't know
if my kids are gonna be driving for the majority
of their lives. I don't think they.

Speaker 3 (29:15):
Will let me be unfung Schmitty. As of June, four
hundred and seventy three reported crashes involving autonomous vehicles. Self
driving cars have a higher accident rate than traditional vehicles,
an average of nine crashes per million miles, compared to
less than four for traditional vehicles. Am I excited about
the future. I think so, in the far ahead future,
when I'm not reading what feels like every day it's like, oh,

(29:37):
I mean the Tesla hit the light pole, but really
nobody was injured.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
I gotta tell you is sitting in the back seat
with my wife like she was white knuckle when we
took our first ride with it. The whole time really different.
And there's a wheel that's still in there, that's moving automatically.
And I gotta be honest, you have never wanted to
grab a wheel so much in your life than when
the robots are driving. You gotta check it out at
West Music Get Star.

Speaker 4 (30:00):
Sometimes I get a good feeling.

Speaker 2 (30:04):
Well, trying to spread a little sunshine this Morninglet's start
one a fine point. See have been Mackachiminny with feeling good.

Speaker 3 (30:09):
Well, it's a story of two neighbors turned friends that
have now become family in Lancing. It's incredible. Rodney Anderson
is a captain at the Lansing Police Department and when
he started his journey with Lansing Police, he bought a
house on Midwood Street and one of his neighbors he
kind of maybe knew, was Crystal Linda Well. The two

(30:29):
struck up a friendship and now considering each other family
because as Rodney learned, his health issues in the past
year escalated to a point where he needed a kidney transplant.
We've done these stories before. The search for a donor
can be so challenging. He started his campaign, and it

(30:49):
was only a short time after he'd put out the
news that Kristall Linda called his wife and said, I
think I can help. She said, it was not a
hard decision at all. I should absolutely help if I
have to do this. She got tested two months later,
learned she was a match and donated one of her
kidneys to save the life of a man she says
had an impact on hers. You n't realize it for

(31:12):
it to be your neighbor. You search the whole world
for a donor, but then it becomes your next door neighbor.
And Crysta Linda says, you always made me feel so safe,
so taken care of this is the least that I
could do. It's really incredible talking to Wllns.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
Never did I really think that that connection with yield
life saving for myself.

Speaker 3 (31:35):
It kind of completes.

Speaker 6 (31:39):
The book.

Speaker 3 (31:39):
If you will, Captain Anderson doing great.

Speaker 2 (31:42):
I mean, these organ donation stories just blow me away
because it's so selfless and the stories of how they
get to meet their donors and how they interacted lives
as wild.

Speaker 3 (31:51):
By the way you can be an Oregon donor and
have it listed right on your license.

Speaker 2 (31:55):
All right, Betty. I got to give a shout out
to head and football coach over at Northview High School,
Ryan oshnock Ostock. He's been in West Michigan, is ahead
high school football coach for a while thirteenth season with
Stopson Forest Hills Northern West Ottawa, and for the last
four seasons he's been the head coach of Grand Rapids
Northview and he has got the Wildcats role in this season.

(32:15):
Schmidty just last week did defeated Grand Rapids Catholic Central
twelve to three. They are now seven to zero for
the first time since nineteen seventy seven, only the fourth
time in school history with that record. Grand Rapids Catholic
Central was his fiftieth win as a head high school
football coach. So really cool and fitting that the Detroit

(32:36):
Lions took time to name him their Lions head football
coach of the Week. He got the news on the
Lions' latest episode of Head Coach Hangout. I really appreciate it.
It's an honor for our school, for our administration, for
all the kids that played football year. It's or anybody
who's a part of the Northfiew community. That's right Northfield,

(32:56):
and that's really cool. Gonna be playing a big game
Friday night, hosting Holland Christian their final home game of
the regular season, only the second matchup between these teams
all time. They are currently ranked number three in the
entire state in Division two, So big shout out head
coach Ryan Ashnack.

Speaker 3 (33:13):
Yeah, he's really good friends with our coworker Brett, who
had nothing but fabulous things to say about the guy.

Speaker 2 (33:17):
Yeah. I just love to see these coaches getting the
love and recognition they deserve from our lions. And we'll
always point out people who are doing great things, especially
when they're in our community. We'll do it again for
you tomorrow, six forty five and nine twenty. You'll find
feeling good every day here on Star one oh five
point seven Mack and Schmidty in the morning weekdays starting
at six am on Star one oh five point seven
