Mac and Schmitty in the morning on Star one of
five point seven.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
Good morning, Schmitty, Good morning. Welcome into your Wednesday, and
welcome back to you. It was very very nice outside yesterday, Smitty,
and I couldn't help but notice the warmest day of
the week was the one that you.
Speaker 5 (00:26):
Got for I don't know how much of that sunshine
I got to see, zero because I was in bed
all day. Ladies and gentlemen, watch yourselves because bronchitis pneumonia
is making an early early appearance this year. I don't
have either of those things. I'm just trying to protect
my voice because the next two weeks of my life
(00:47):
are exceptionally packed, and I'm really really hoping I don't
have to miss any of it.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
So we'll see breathe it out.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
I know it's not great amazing, of.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
Course, but I hope that if you did have the
opportunity to get outside over these last couple of days,
that you definitely took advantage. Because we're gonna start to
cool down a little bit. Maybe me feel a little
more foolish today.
Speaker 6 (01:06):
Movies, music and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 4 (01:10):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 5 (01:14):
Rapper and hip hop legend Busta Rhymes urging people to
chill out just a bit when it comes to the
allegations against Ditty, the rapper at the premiere for Venom
the Last Dance, kind of defending Diddy in a way,
seeing snap judgments are never okay, would like for.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
Everyone to be mindful of the thirst and the urgency
and the need to speak on the situation. And we're
not realizing how much we can directly and indirectly affect
everyone involved with our unwarranted opinions. So with that being said,
I'm gonna reserve my opinions and I'm gonna wish the
(01:57):
best for everyone involved. The one thing that you should
take away from what I'm saying is everybody probably need
to mind nate damn business until the truth is undisputed.
At that point, justice needs to be served accordingly.
Speaker 5 (02:13):
He went on to add, I wouldn't wish this for
my worst enemy. I mean that for the victims, and
for Diddy.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
I mean who would have thought that. Though with the measured,
eloquent response to the situation was coming from buzz to
Rhymes BITTI Yeah.
Speaker 5 (02:26):
I mean we've been hearing a lot, especially from inside
hip hop circles, Like we heard from method Man a
couple of weeks ago two that was like, let's just
take a breather.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
There's a lot to go through here.
Speaker 5 (02:36):
Rachel Ray says her and her husband get into screaming
matches all the time. It's the healthiest part of their marriage.
So she has just started a brand new podcast called
I'll Sleep when I'm Dead. Her newest guest is actress
and writer Jenny Mallin, and they were talking about having
successful marriages in the business and a big part of
that is not calming it down.
Speaker 7 (02:58):
John and I don't comment down ever. We have huge
screaming matches all the time. But I think that's healthy,
I really do. And I don't trust people that are
too quiet.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
Rachel puts it this way.
Speaker 5 (03:11):
She wants to know what her significant other is thinking,
and she would rather he just get it all out
there in an argument.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
Hey, you know different? What is it?
Speaker 5 (03:22):
Finally, history made on the NBA court last night, lebron
and Bronnie sharing the court during the Lakers season opener
against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Now, of course, a couple of
weeks ago they were on the court together, but that
was preseason, so it did not technically count. You could
hear how electric the arena was.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
History tonight, the first father son duo to play together
in an NBA game. This is all in the family,
and what a celebration for the James family.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
They were all there.
Speaker 5 (03:59):
It happened to the second quarter when Bronni joined his
dad in front of a sell out crowd in LA.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
This is really cool too.
Speaker 5 (04:07):
Fans that were there included Ken Griffy Senior and Ken
Griffy Junior, the first father son duo in Major League Baseball,
who were super hype for the moment.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
That is pretty cool to see the cross court vibes there.
Speaker 5 (04:18):

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Sometime bees I get a good feeling. Yeah, well, let's
dive in this in positivity, get you through these hump
day It's Mack and Schmide on Starwin O five point seven.
And of course, the areas down south that were impacted
by Hurricanes Helene and Milton gonna be dealing with the
effects of those hurricanes for years and years to come.
But in advance of that, lots of people came together
(04:45):
to do their best to help mitigate what the damage
would ultimately be, including a charity as well as an
animal shelter and Southwest Airlines. I got to give a
shout out to all three of them, Lucky Dog Animal
Rescue down in Flora in South Carolina, well as organizations
that helped to gather food and supplies out of Wisconsin.
(05:06):
See what happened was Southwest Airlines arranged a free flight
to go down to Florida bringing six thousand pounds worth
of emergency for supplies, blanket socks, laundry sheets, things that
they knew people would be needing after those storms did
their damage. On the way back, what they did was
fly pro bono one hundred and fifty shelter animals that
(05:27):
had been gathered so that they could clear all the
room in the shelters that they had down in Florida
in order to make sure they could take in all
the animals that would be displaced by the storms. So
on October twelfth, Southwest Airline pilot who was doing it
for free, name Captain Matt Prebis, was flying one hundred
and fifty shelter animals back to Wisconsin where they could
(05:50):
be adopted. When one of the cats on Bord SCHMDTI,
snuck out of its cage and wound its way up
to the cockpit. Talking to People magazine, it was at
thirty thousand feet. I don't think Captain Matt was expecting
to adopt a hurricane evacuee from Tennessee when he agreed
to fly this amazing special flight. But some things are
meant to be. Naming the kitten, Avery, He's got pictures
(06:13):
of him flying that special plane back to Wisconsin, loaded
up with the animals, with his new best friend sitting
on his shoulder. Schmidt.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
He his own little headset, he does.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
I'll put the photo up for you at West Michigan

Speaker 5 (06:23):
All right, this was an incredibly moving moment. Sixteen year
old Isabelle Pike was surprised by a Mustang that her
late father had built years ago. Here's what happened. His
tragic passing went down almost eight years ago and the
family had to sell the car. It's sat in the
garage and Louisville, where, thanks to the help of Grandpa
(06:47):
and uncle, they found it and surprised her for that
sixteenth birthday.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
Go look at it. I told you he's going to
get it, didn't I.
Speaker 6 (07:09):
Listen?
Speaker 4 (07:11):
And this was meant for you.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (07:13):
More than two million views in just four days. Her
mom said, surprise and shock definitely overcame her when she
saw the car, but she knew it was hers forever.
It's up on our Instagram stories right now at West
Michigan Stock.
Speaker 6 (07:26):
Movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 4 (07:29):
It's the celebrity Scoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 5 (07:33):
Now. I try to steer clear of anything political and
celeb scoop, but last night in Detroit was pretty cool
because only Eminem could have former President Barack Obama feeling
a little nervous keeping it a whole business at a
Harris event in Detroit.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
Check it out, Detroit.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
What up though?
Speaker 8 (07:54):
So look, I wrote down a few things I wanted
to say. I love you too, Thank you. I'm here
tonight for a couple of important reasons. As most of
you know, the city of Detroit in the whole state
of Michigan mean a lot to me, and going into
this election, the spotlight is on us more than ever,
and I think It's important to use your voice. So
I'm encouraging everybody to get out and vote please.
Speaker 5 (08:17):
He then welcomed the former president on stage, who tried
his hand at a little wrap.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
You know, I have done a lot of allies, so
I don't usually get nervous, but I was feeling some
kind of wit following them, and m Now, I notice
my palms are sweater this week.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
I'm a heaven Mama. No my sweater all rudder Mom, Spagetna.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
I mean you're in Detroit.
Speaker 5 (08:47):
How can you not if you missed our West Michigan
wake up to former President Donald Trump with campaign visits
planned for Traverse City.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
And no v at the end of the week.
Speaker 5 (08:56):
I thought this was just dis goball country singer Zach
Brian opening up and admitting that he has broken up
with girlfriend Brianna Lapallia the problem. Brianna was blindsided by
that post he put up the other day, the Barstool
Sports personality posting an extremely emotional video response on her
(09:21):
YouTube yesterday. It's just hard to listen to.
Speaker 9 (09:24):
How can you give someone everything and like love him
so unconditionally, like through stuff that you shouldn't forget, you
just love them when you want them, like you see
the good enough, Like how can you Oh, this is
so embarrassing. How can you could give every house of
(09:49):
yourself to someone and then like be discarded of.
Speaker 5 (09:55):
Yeah, she confirmed the breakup, but noted the split only
happened on Monday, with which is why she says she
was blindsided. Zach didn't call her, didn't text her that
he was going to put this post up. She says,
all of a sudden, her phone started blowing up and
people were texting and saying, Oh my gosh, are you okay.
She actually thought her dad had died, and then to
find this out, it is just exceptionally hard. Zach's Repp
(10:19):
has not responded to.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
This question here for you, schmiddy. So they broke up,
and then the next day he put up a post
and she's saying that's what blindsided her. Yeah, they broke up.
I mean, why was he not allowed to say that
they broke up? After they broke up, guy was sure
he didn't want to get back together with her, obviously,
or at least that he wanted to tell the world
he was single.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (10:38):
I think Hollywood goes by different rules, and I do
think personally like, sorry, Zach Bryan fans, I think this
guy's kind of scummy. He's married, cheated on his wife
that was super public that she didn't want public. Like
now this I just I did not vibe with me
in his romantic life.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
I do not love it.
Speaker 5 (10:56):
Finally, Justin Bieber says it is time for some of
his former business managers to pay up. Justin said he
has been very upset for several years, claiming he has
lost a ton of money as a result of terrible
decisions made by his business managers. Not sure on like
exact incidences here. In fact, the actual number is still unclear,
(11:20):
but Justin's people say it's a huge amount, big enough
that Bieber is discussing the possibility of filing a lawsuit
against the alleged offenders. Now, his current team is pretty split.
Some members do want him to sue these people, others
do not. We're told the argument against suing Justin went
through a period where he was spending wildly, causing his
(11:44):
own problems. So they're like, as long as you've got
some proof. But honestly, they are afraid that this could
kind of open up some things that maybe weren't so
great back in that time that Justin might not want
public interesting.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
And kind of a typical thing withild stars that make
tons of money, right, I mean, after years go by,
it seems like there's always a lawsuit going back that
somebody mismanaged it.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
All of your celeb scoop at West Michigan Star dot.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
Com, what's up. Thanks for being with us this morning.
I'm Mack and Schmidty on your Wednesday. And man, I
could see a lot of raises coming if more bosses
did this.
Speaker 5 (12:16):
I don't know, do you think so? I'd like to
be optimistic so, but I don't know. Let's start with this,
could your boss do your job? Home Depot has a
lot of people talking because the CEO just announced he
wants all employees of the company to better understand what
work is like. For its retail staff. He is requiring everyone,
(12:39):
including corporate tip top of the Ladder employees, to work
an eight hour retail shift in store once a quarter.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
I think this is such a great idea for especially
for a store like Home Depot, to do, just because
I feel like there's so much of a I don't know,
a order of things at Home Depot. I mean, people
are doing projects or walking through it's the big warehouse style.
I feel like you kind of got to get your
boots on the ground in the situation like that and
know what your employees would be lot se.
Speaker 5 (13:08):
I think home depot aside, anyone that works in a
retail centric business should be forced to do this. Same
with food service. I think corporate employees who probably for
the most part, have been doing those jobs for at
least a decade, if not longer and getting big fat bonuses,
should come and see what it's like to actually serve
(13:30):
the public, some of which are so lovely, some of
which are the worst possible human beings on earth. And honestly,
I would go a step further as a CEO and say,
you know what, you don't have to do it every
quarter if you don't want. However, you will find four
eight hour shifts, and if you'd like, they can all
be during the holiday season.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
Killick and there you go. I would like to see you.
Speaker 5 (13:55):
December fifteenth, working in eight hour retail shift and seeing
what it's like for these incredible employees who I'm sure
are wickedly patient and polite and lovely while wanting to
pull their.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
Hair out here's the caveat for it. Do you want
them to be among and known by their fellow employees
or do we want to see this be more like
undercover boss style stuff where all of a sudden, the
billionaire Walmart family is the greeter that you see the
next time there.
Speaker 5 (14:25):
I think I think i'd want to know, because I'd
be like, perfect, we're gonna We're gonna put you in
each department. You can spend two hours in each department.
There's gonna be a two hour bathroom clean up. You
can go need to check the public restrooms. I mean
if our bosses, I mean, I can tell you right now,
our boss could not do this job. In fact, he
begs us to never put him on the air or
(14:48):
come in here. I think it would be very hard
for most people, I think in our building to walk
in and do what we do.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
Yeah, well, I think for a you talk about corpor
racally de at the perspective difference so huge when you're
talking about executives and management. You're talking about people who
make deep six figure salaries compared to people who work
in your warehouses every day. I feel like that discrepancy
of life should be put on display. For those people
at all times, like, Hey, I know things up in
the corporate offices are going great right now. Down here,
(15:19):
we're doing the groundwork every single day.
Speaker 5 (15:22):
I just want someone to come in here so I
never have to hear again. You're so lucky to only
weark halfa day. I can't tell.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
You woulds a lady get out of work.
Speaker 5 (15:30):
Wow, it must be so nice to just be an
on air talent. I've had that said to me, and boy,
oh boy, did that stick with me? Six one six,
four five eight one oh five seven? Could your boss
do your job? A lot of the people who've commented
on Facebook you need to like drop where you work. Lisa. Actually,
she used to do my job. Then she moved up
(15:52):
the ladder to be the boss. She retires at the
end of November, and everyone is going to seriously miss her.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
Crystal. Actually, yes she can and she has.
Speaker 5 (16:02):
She does a great job, and even more, she advocates
for us to get better raises too. Y'all need to
drop these companies. Drop these companies right now.
Speaker 1 (16:10):
Good morning to you. It's Mac and Schmidty. We are
far far from perfect parents, screwed it up all the time,
but at least we're there to share it with you.
It is this week's I.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
Don't think I screwed anything up.
Speaker 5 (16:23):
This is me confessing something that my kid did that
I was like, oh.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
Sir, I put a roof over your head and feed you.
I can't believe that.
Speaker 5 (16:31):
So it was Spirit Week last week in Rockford for
my six year old who's in first grade, and he
was super excited because on Wednesday.
Speaker 2 (16:38):
It was PJ day.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
Oh yeah, the best.
Speaker 5 (16:40):
And he looks right at me after picking out his
sweet Pokemon jams and goes man, Mom, I wish I
was like you someday and I could wear pjs every day.
I would like to point out ladies and gentlemen. I
am in jeans, real shoes, and a decent shirt.
Speaker 2 (16:56):
Today. I go lazy, like one day a week. Thank
you son.
Speaker 1 (17:01):
A question on that, though, by is it because you're
gone in the mornings and then by the time he
gets home you have fully integrated into comfy clothes a
lot of days or what?
Speaker 8 (17:09):
No?
Speaker 2 (17:10):
I pick him up from school. I look legit.
Speaker 5 (17:13):
I think he just believes I'm some lazy form of
life and he can't believe actually gets paid to do things.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
Michelle works at home and so she's just on screen.
So she often just puts on like a nice blouse.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
Like sa we all remember what twenty twenty was.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
He She lives out every day and my kids call
it work up top, nap down low.
Speaker 6 (17:34):
Absolutely these music and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 4 (17:41):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 5 (17:45):
Well, the news broke yesterday. The ex CEO of Ambercrombie
and Fitch facing an indictment on fifteen counts of interstate
prostitution one count of sex traffic.
Speaker 2 (18:00):
Wow.
Speaker 5 (18:01):
His name is Michael Jeffries. You might recognize that name
and face after a couple of documentaries that have come
out in recent years about the toxic environment surrounding the company.
He was the CEO from nineteen ninety two to twenty fourteen.
The indictment also includes his boyfriend Matthew Smith and James Jacobson,
who allegedly recruited men for certain events and then made
(18:24):
them do things that they called tryouts. Here's just a
piece of the US attorney in the Eastern District of
New York, Breon Pierce, talking about this indictment.
Speaker 10 (18:34):
Although they are fifteen, John does identified as victims in
this indictment. This interstate prostitution venture encompassed dozens and dozens
of men.
Speaker 5 (18:45):
Fed say the defendants engaged in these issues from twentyd
and eight to twenty fifteen, including leading men to believe
they would score modeling gigs with Amber Crombie if they
participated in these activities. As of yesterday afternoon, Michael Jeffries
was released on bond following the indictment, released on a
(19:06):
ten million dollar bond. His boyfriend Matthew Smith included as well,
released on a five hundred thousand dollars bond. James Jacobson,
who allegedly luredman into these events, was detained. Jeffries and
Jacobson are set to be arraigned Friday afternoon at a
federal courthouse in Long Island. I want to point out
the final thing that the district attorney said. I thought
this statement was so powerful.
Speaker 10 (19:26):
To anyone who thinks they can exploit and coerce others
by using the so called casting couch system. This case
has served as a warning prepare to trade that couch
for a bed in federal prison.
Speaker 5 (19:41):
I mean, it just has so many similarities to the
Diddy case and I saw one of the friends I
have on Instagram actually post this yesterday and go was
just everyone in our millennial lives doing really, really nasty
things and nobody knew about it or nobody said it.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
You know. The interesting thing is is we're getting charges
for this guy right now, but he has been battling
civil lawsuits and accusations within the company for a decade.
Speaker 5 (20:09):
Did you see the documentaries? They're despicable. I mean, and
I'll point out because if you are an A and
F fan nowadays, the company has tried to turn kind
of its image around and Jeffreys hasn't been associated with
them since twenty fourteen, but these charges are absolutely vile.
Taylor Swift fans going after Shakira saying, whoa who wo
(20:30):
You are lifting way too many creative elements from the
aerostor for us to not think you are totally copying Taylor. So,
of course, Shakira has an upcoming world tour and swifties
have started to point out a lot of the similarities.
I'll admit I think they might be a little bitter
because Shakira just became the first female artist to sell
(20:50):
out five consecutive stadium shows at the Mexico City Stadium,
which was a record previously held by Taylor. But they
say things like this inspiration is so obviously taken from
the Aras Tour. If it goes viral, they'll be doing
mental gymnastics to act like they haven't copied this. One
user joking the Aras Tour isn't even over yet, Shakira's
(21:12):
team might as well call this Taylor's Aras Tour and
even saying that they're copying Swift's choreography, saying that she
jumps into the water a lot. I think her and
her team definitely studied the Aras Tour to make something
just like it, and pointing out if Taylor was doing this,
the conversation would be very different and Swift would be
even more scrutinized and criticized than Shakira's.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
You want to turn this troll level up a bit
for swifties. I would love nothing more than than Taylor
to cover the Skira song at one of her shows.
How great would that be?
Speaker 5 (21:45):
SCHMITTI Finally, unfortunately a show we will not be seeing
next week. If you missed the news yesterday, justin Timberlake
having to postpone some of his tour, He wrote to fans,
I have not been feeling great the last few shows.
Turns out I've got ronchitis and laryngitis. So it does
affect a bunch of Midwest shows, including Chicago, Milwaukee, Saint Paul,
(22:07):
and Columbus. That also means the Grand Rapids show slated
for next week as well as the Detroit show have
been moved. You will now see him at Vanandel February
eighteenth of next year, and.
Speaker 2 (22:18):
He'll be at LCA in Detroit on February twentieth.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
My wife was growning when this news broke.
Speaker 5 (22:24):
Lash bab Yeah, all of your celeb scoop at West
Michigan Star dot.

Speaker 1 (22:47):
Just pay compliments, all right?
Speaker 5 (22:49):
One hundred women surveyed, what's something your husband will comment
on to make you feel good? See, I'm gonna do
something different here. A great because I think men have
good intentions. And then they say like, oh, honey, that
dress looks way better than the one you had on
yesterday that you said felt really tight.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
That is a terrible cold.
Speaker 5 (23:07):
Yeah, guys, let's be real careful and feel really confident
about what we're gonna say, all right, six one six,
four five eight, one oh five seven. One hundred women surveyed,
what is something your husband will comment on to make

Speaker 1 (23:38):
So does that make you third grader? Or fourth grader?
Speaker 8 (23:41):
Fourth grader?
Speaker 1 (23:42):
Fourth grader? So's my son, that's awesome. Fourth grade's the best?
All right, Avery, Let's see if we can get you
tickets to go check out the circus this weekend. All right, okay,
all right, Avery, one hundred women rest to name something
specific a husband might comment on about his wife just
to make her feel good. What do you think their
top answer was, I'd.
Speaker 9 (24:03):
Say, your hair looks good.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
Your hair looks good. Is your mom or your dad
in the car with you right now?
Speaker 6 (24:10):
No, my grandma's in the car.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
Your grandma's in the car right now. Will you ask
your grandma what her favorite thing to be complimented on is?
Speaker 5 (24:17):
What'sent on?
Speaker 6 (24:21):
She likes to be complimented on her hair too.
Speaker 1 (24:23):
Ah, she went with hair too. Yeah, I was thinking shoes.
I have not met a woman that doesn't like to
be told that they have nice shoes on just yet.
And you know what, you and your grandma were right
on it, Avery, You guys are that's the top answer.
Speaker 2 (24:36):
Congrats, Yeah, it's gonna be a plot.
Speaker 1 (24:39):
Awesome. Congratulations, Avery, total fun points. You have a good
morning to you. It's Mac and Schmitty. And look, everybody's
got a movie that is absolutely awful that for whatever
reason you just love it, and for my daughter Smitty,
it has become a movie that I think buying large
(25:01):
most people would say is absolutely terrible and a travesty
that it ever was on the big screen at all,
but at least once every forty eight hours, more likely
about ten times in a row. I am going to
hear this. Oh oh, Jennifer Hudson, your voice is incredible,
(25:30):
but that doesn't save the modern version of Cats.
Speaker 2 (25:34):
I never saw it.
Speaker 1 (25:35):
It's so bad, Schmidty. I want to love. I never
saw Andrew Lloyd Webber. I'm a theater dork, as you know.
I was raised on this. I saw Cats in the
Fox Theater in Detroit. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (25:46):
I've seen the live version like three times.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
I like Cats. I like cats a lot. I hate
Cats now. Gosh, this movie is so bad, Smitty. I'm
looking at like Taylor Swift.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
Isn't it right?
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Taylor Swift's song in it is that's so awful. I'm
a Swiftie. I like Taylor. It's terrible. She should disassociate
herself for this.
Speaker 2 (26:06):
Isn't that why your daughter watches it?
Speaker 1 (26:07):
She loves it. She thinks the cats are so cool looking.
They're terrifying. It's so creepy watching the half human beings
half cats. I mean, there is a reason why this
movie has nineteen percent on Rotten Tomato. Schmidty two point.
Speaker 2 (26:20):
Eight on higher than I expect.
Speaker 1 (26:22):
And it is plain NonStop in my house right now,
driving be nuts. Do you have a movie that you
just love you I think it's terrible.
Speaker 5 (26:29):
No, I don't love it, But I don't think The
Green Lantern deserves the hate it gets because I really
love that. That's Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively's origin story.
Even though Ian Reynolds takes that movie. No, that's not true,
he said in a recent interview. He adores it for
introducing him to his wife.
Speaker 1 (26:46):
I could tell you if any man tells you they
adore something they did, they're not a big fan. I
asked this on Facebook, Adam the eighty Super Mario Brothers movie.
That thing was absolutely terrible. John Liguijamo, I'm sure is
still ashamed of that. Uh, there's a lot of movies
on there, movies on here that are good, though, that
are good. Somebody put pulp fiction that's like ninety plus
(27:07):
person done Rotten Tomatoes and one of the best films
of all time.
Speaker 5 (27:10):
Maybe, Hey, Greg, I didn't even make it through water World.
I don't understand what that was about.
Speaker 1 (27:16):
I read the book and then I was dying to
see the movie, and I told all my friends about it,
and then I had to live with the fact that
the only news that was about that movie from that
going forward as biggest flop of all time.
Speaker 2 (27:29):
Be honest, didn't even know it was a book.
Speaker 8 (27:33):
Sometimes because I'd get a good feeling well.
Speaker 1 (27:37):
Just trying to put a few smiles on faces as
you head off and take it with you into your day,
feeling good on start one on five point seven, what's
going on?
Speaker 5 (27:44):
Sin Well, you know that we have had Steve the
og Steve from Blues Clues bring us to tears in
the past. Reebrie started his TikTok during twenty twenty and
just one video where he was checking in on how
we were wracked up millions of views. This is another
one that's gone viral. The Fan Expo went down in
Canada over the weekend and it brought together all of
(28:06):
the actors that have ever played Steve on Blues Clues,
which includes the Og Steve Burns, who had this answer
to the fan question, what was your best experience being
recognized by an older fan?
Speaker 11 (28:22):
Oh Man, Not to bring it down, but we did
one of these in Pittsburgh and this was so cool.
I was doing, like comic Con, We're just signing pictures
and stuff, and some dude comes up to me. He's like, hey, Steve.
I'm like hey man. He's like, do you recognize me.
I'm like no, and he's like that's cool. And then
he handed me a picture and he was a make
a Wish.
Speaker 1 (28:40):
Kid, oh wow, yeah.
Speaker 11 (28:43):
And he's like, I made it, Steve.
Speaker 6 (28:45):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (28:47):
Wait that's what he said. That's what he said to you. Yeah.
I was like yeah, yeah, crying on the inside and outside. Yeah.
Now we're friends on instat That's awesome.
Speaker 11 (28:59):
But that was my favorite fan interaction I've ever.
Speaker 5 (29:02):
Had a Make a Wish kid that came up to
him and said, well, Steve, I made it after meeting
him years and years earlier.
Speaker 2 (29:11):
It was so cool.
Speaker 5 (29:12):
You've got to see Steve's like facial response to remembering
this story. I put it up on our Instagram at
West Michigan Star.
Speaker 1 (29:19):
All right, CHIMITTI. Of course, World War Two veterans we
have fewer and fewer of them to tell us their
incredible stories each and every year, so we celebrate and
they do across the pond too with our allies. As
a one hundred and five year old British woman, Dorothy Smith,
just celebrating that milestone birthday, and the coolest part about
(29:40):
it was she was celebrated by not only her entire community,
but even the King and Queen of England because Dorothy,
she served in World War Two intercepting Nazi messages for
the Bletchley Park code breaking operation that was almost entirely
done by women. By nineteen forty five, seventy five percent
of the staff on those code breaking teams were women
(30:02):
who had volunteered their support during World War Two. And
what's really cool is not only did the community come
together get her one hundred and five cards each year
of her amazing life, but she also got two of
those cards, none other than King Charles and Queen Tamilla
as well. So just really really cool. My favorite part, Dorothy,
after all this time, what are we looking at here?
(30:24):
Almost eighty years now, she has never talked about the
codes that were broken. Once she tells her own family
it's top secret, then it's top secret now duty above
all else. So cool. But yeah, one hundred and five
years for that World War two vetchman, and we always
want to tell you about amazing people doing incredible things.
So celebrating amazing milestones like that, Let's do it again
(30:46):
tomorrow six forty five and nine twenty here on Star
War five point seven. Mack and schmidty in the morning
weekdays starting at six am on Star one oh five
point seven
