Mac and Schmitty in the morning on West Michigan's Christmas
station Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Morning Schmitty, Good morning, Welcome into a Tuesday. And uh yeah,
I feel like in my house every day that this
Christmas music is on, we get a little little jolly
or a little deeper into it. I saw Home Alone
showing come on the television yesterday. I prompted. That tells
me my kids are getting uh well, for lack of

(00:29):
a better term, greedy, we're starting to think about this
started for Christmas.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
We started the first maybe twenty minutes over the weekend
as like a pre bedtime treat. But we haven't gotten
a full full showing of any holiday movies just yet.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
I was I was a little surprised because they were
actually watching Lost in New York and that one, and
I'm like, really, I'm like out of the choices. If
I was given the spectrum of Home Alone or Christmas movies,
I would know when to the sequel.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Bec I'm the number two person. Hey bye. By the way,
if you follow us on Facebook at West Michigan Star,
I found a brilliant post I put up on Sunday
of your entire Christmas Movie Guide, every streaming service, who
has what what's officially streaming? So is it's abound to
get cooler and cooler like today looking pretty chilly and
you just want to sit inside, bail on work and

(01:19):
do some watching. Find that post because it.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Is gold, that really is. That was a big list
right there. You were playing around up at West Michigan, Star.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
Movies, music and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
It's the celebrities gooop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
Well, follow up to yesterday's story about Michael Strayhand seemingly
disrespecting veterans on the Fox Sports Sunday NFL broadcast as
they were a bored and naval carrier in San Diego
during the national anthem. The rest of his co hosts
all had their hand over the heart, while Michael opted
to interlock his hands down at his waist. There's a

(01:57):
lot of backlash online well. Today A Glazer, one of
his fellow co hosts on Fox Sports, has given his
two cents and defending Michael, tweeting on as I've just
seen the criticism of Michael. Let me tell you this,
I don't know if I have a friend who's more
proud of his military roots than Michael growing up on
an army base constantly take talking about what he learned

(02:21):
from his dad, Major Jean Strahan and how his time
there shaped him. I heard it constantly, I still do.
Also with no fanfare. I saw him donate thousands of
dollars of clothes to veterans, including many homeless veterans, as
well as clothes for veterans to go on job interviews.
I know these days people want to be angry fast,
but maybe first, how is this for a novel idea?

(02:44):
Ask him if he's protesting something. If he's not, he
just got caught up, and how beautiful the whole moment
was during the anthem and didn't think about it. Let's
ask the dude before forming an angry mob. But also
find out all that he's done for our veterans over
the years.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
I mean, obviously he knows this smoke is out there
like this. I thought it was an oversight on his
part right from the get go. Maybe it's not. Has
he said any word?

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Not a word? Fox Sports did announce yesterday though there's
going to be no fine, no punishment or anything like that.
Chris Patt and Catherine schwartzen Anger parents once again welcoming
they're third baby together. I must have missed one in there.
I didn't know that they had three already happened, the
pair taking to Instagram to share the happy news. Ford

(03:29):
Fitzgerald Schwarzenegger Pratt Catherine said, We're over joy to announce
the birth of our son. Mama and baby are doing well,
and Ford's siblings are thrilled by his arrival. We just
feel so blessed and so grateful. Chris has two daughters
with Catherine. That's Lila, who is four, and Eloise, who
is two, and then of course a twelve year old son,

(03:49):
Jack with his ex Anna Faris. This is another technically
kind of Kennedy too.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Well, that's what I was actually looking at, because of
course John F. Kennedy, that F is Fitzgerald's and then
obviously very presidential as we know very well here in
West Michigan. So interesting. Maybe that kid's got a career
in politics.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
And finally, Beyonce will have Ivy League students allowed to
sign up for her class. That's right. Yale University has
announced that in twenty twenty five, Beyonce is getting her
own class. Daphne Brooks is a professor of African American Studies,
American Studies, Women's Gender, and Music at the Famed University.

(04:29):
And we'll be teaching a class inspired by the evolution
of Beyonce's career, including her sound, fashion, and use of
visual media. It's called Beyonce Makes History, Black Radical Tradition, History,
culture theory and politics through Music.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Interesting. I mean, like, you know, if you want to
waste your parents' money, there are worse ways. I guess
you could do that taking your Beyonce classes.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
Tell them you taking a business class, savvy businesswoman. Certainly
all of your celeb scoop at West Michigan Star.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Time sometimes because I get a good feeling. He always
love a good story about a local kid making it big.
That's what I got for you today, feeling good on
Starting on five point seven. It's Mack and Schmidty and
just got to give a big shout out to Portage
native and now NASCAR Star. I think it's official that

(05:21):
we can say NASCAR Star host and Coasavar named the
NASCAR Cup Series Rookie of the Year. Yeah, I mean
this is pretty incredible. Out of Fordage, he had thirteen
top fifteen finishes in the NASCAR Series this year, six
top ten and a third place finish. He said, for
him now, it's just to win. He needs more races

(05:42):
under his belt, and he feels like that's exactly what's
going to happen. But talk to wood TV eight about
how it feels to win Rookie of the Year, it
means a lot.

Speaker 5 (05:50):
I'm excited for our journey, aspire moving forward, right, but
be able to do this in one year time, to
finish high in points at their highest points, finish as
a company on Sundays, To be able to do that,
accomplish that and be able to really pull ahead the
late half of the year, I think speaks volumes of
our progress.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
Of course, obviously a very young career, but Rookie of
the Year on this first full time series of NASCAR
pretty awesome, he says. Next year, I think it's going
to be more about being able to take what we
learned from year one of the places we kind of
struggled at and being able to pinpoint those and make
our weak spots a little bit rare and hopefully booked
that first big NASCAR win too.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
Schmiddi, All right, So much of the spotlight shown on
our veterans yesterday. That includes the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard.
Since nineteen eighty two, they have delivered more than twenty
two thousand military salutes to fellow veterans at their funerals.
The team is eighty five men and women, all veterans themselves,

(06:51):
completely volunteer based to make sure those who have served
are honored the way they deserve, at zero cost to
the families. Bill Pellis is the guard's commander, who also
served in Vietnam with the Marine Corps, telling Wood this
is something he knew he wanted to do.

Speaker 6 (07:09):
I knew when I retired that I wanted to do this.
I felt a calling to do this, like most of
the guys do. The Honor Guard in the military branches,
I consider to be like brothers and sisters.

Speaker 3 (07:21):
And those brothers and sisters deserve the greatest thank you,
Pellis says. The group offers tribute at about five hundred
services every year, all across Kent County, but they're hoping
to do even more so. Not only do we think
the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard, but invite you if
you would like to become a part of this to
check kenthonor guard dot com and such a thank you

(07:45):
for your service. It's a really beautiful video playing those taps.
That gets me every time. West Michigan Star dot com.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
Movies, music and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
It's the celebrities group on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 3 (07:59):
Okay, I'm gonna start with a giant spoiler alert. If
you are a Yellowstone fan and you have not watched
Sunday's episode, I have a massive spoiler here, so turn
it down for a second again. Yellowstone spoiler alert, Okay.
Kevin Costner says he too was totally in the dark

(08:22):
about his character's demise on Yellowstone, revealing in an interview
with Michael scrimini Ish's program that he learned the terrible
end at the same time as the show's passionate fans.
He was in an interview yesterday saying, even though he
had kind of gone over a couple of ideas for
him being taken out of the show, he didn't expect.

Speaker 7 (08:44):
This perfectly honest, I didn't know what was actually airing
last night. That's a really that's a swear to God moment.
I swear to.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
God, but did you know how they were going to
deal with No, I didn't.

Speaker 7 (08:54):
I didn't if that's their business, you know, I gave
it five seasons, a couple times where I talked about
possible endings for myself.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
But you're you're not displeased, You're okay with the way
that it ended.

Speaker 7 (09:06):
No, I don't. Didn't see it.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
I heard it.

Speaker 7 (09:09):
It's a suicide, so that doesn't make me want a
rush to go see it.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
Yeah, fans were actually really really sad that Taylor's Sheridan,
creator of the show, actually chose to kill off the
Dutton patriarch, kind of closing that door on any chance
of Kevin making any kind of future appearance in the
series finale. This is really interesting. The city with the

(09:34):
worst ratings for that Yellowstone episode Sunday Night was actually
Detroit because everyone was watching the Lions as.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
It should be.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
I like that.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
I can't believe. Do you think that the animosity that
was going on behind the scenes a little bit about
these guys discussing whether or not he was coming back,
not coming back, is he leaving the show? Do you
think that played a part in how they decided to
get rid of them.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
I don't I don't I think that they would. I
would like to think that there'd be more in tune
with like the fans wanting now. Plus you'd be able
to make more money. Honestly, if you've got any kind
of revenue here tied to ratings, it was very surprising
to fans. Okay, welcome back. Spoiler done. Jessica Simpson now
has fans buzzing over potential trouble in her marriage to
Eric Johnson, posting a very cryptic caption on her most

(10:18):
recent Instagram post. The singer posting a series of photos
of herself in her Nashville music room with a caption
that says, interviews in my Nashville music room where I
unearthed my singular magic. This comeback is personal. It's an
apology to myself for putting up with everything I did
not deserve. Fans quick into the comments, wondering if the

(10:43):
caption meant maybe she is gonna announce she's single, that
she had split from Eric. Could this new music actually
be a breakup album? It's interesting because the ring not
on her finger as far back as April when she
posted Instagram pics, but it was while they were all
together on a family getaway, so everything seemed fine. This

(11:03):
would be pretty shocking that two have been together for
ten years, but these relationship rumors started earlier this year
that the two might be having some serious trouble, and I.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
Hope that they're not. I hope everything's yeah fine in
paradise there. That being said, I would bet more so
that this is clever marketing for an upcoming music project.

Speaker 3 (11:21):
That's what I'm going to she has talked about she's
dropping an album. That's what people are wondering. Is it
going to be like a breakup album or is this
going to be her diving further back and it has
nothing to do with her marriage. Finally, detroit Lyons linebacker
James Houston is adamant he did not go to the
bathroom in his football pants while on the field on Sunday.

(11:42):
If you have not seen the video that has gone viral,
you can see him during a play walking up and
he's got a very interesting stain on a very specific
part of his uniform. Lots of people posting the video.
He finally reposting it on X yesterday saying, Yo, y'all,

(12:06):
I sat on some gatorade.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
Just chill.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
You decide for decide for your wait really quick. Though
this was no this was an NBC game. Never mind.
I will put it up for you with your scoop
West Michigan Star dot com and especially if you're the
parents of toddlers, you tell me what this looks like.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
You know, if I got hit by a three hundred
pound lineman Schmitty, I think some stuff would be coming
out of me too. I'll just just own it.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
I've had kids. I don't even need the line.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
Then, Mack and Smitty hanging out this morning and you're
just mean. I am, I am, I mean Fred and
I love it. I'm here for the Gordon Lightfoot trolling.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
I'm really getting called out by some people for being
a very mean friend. So this was actually a couple
of years ago when the girls, my very good like
best girlfriends and I we took a trip up to
Mackinaw Island and my very best friend Elizabeth has ever
been north of like.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
Rockford, she lived in Michigan or entirely.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
No, she's from Wisconsin. Okay, yeah, she's from Milwaukee. So
they moved here almost a decade ago. But she's never
gone north north and she's never been over the Macnopridge.
So we were like, we have to do this, we
have to do so we went across over to Saint
Ignas and decided, being like the really nice girls we are,
by the way, it wasn't just me for everybody coming

(13:24):
at me hard. There were two other women in the
car that agreed as well.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
There was an instigator, and I know her name was Smithy.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
Obviously it's a Michigander. There is a song that you
need to play whenever you're going over a very large
body of water. And this is how my TikTok sounded.
There we go and yet we're fine, it's fine, she's
losing her mind. Can we just keep replaying this? Like

(13:55):
we just keep it going.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
Well, it's about the lost souls like Michigan you made Joins.

Speaker 3 (14:01):
Lake superior, because I also had people point that out. Okay, okay,
you got me too. So we went across the Mackinaw
Bridge five point five miles and we just kept replaying this,
replaying this. Then we get over to Saint Ignas and
she realizes we have to drive back over the bridge
because we've got to take the boat, the ferry to
the island for Mackinaw City. I thought this was funny

(14:23):
and I just randomly threw this up on TikTok yesterday. Yeah,
two hundred thousand views.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
I just pulled it up.

Speaker 3 (14:30):
I have I think over six hundred comments. Now this
thing is blown up, and it's so many people talking
about their own bridge experiences. I have people telling me
other bridges I need to take her to now, and
the stories are just absolutely wild. It's either love or hate.
When it comes to the Macinon Bridge. You are either

(14:51):
petrified or you think it is one of the most
stunning crossings in the entire world.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
My first experience with the Macinaw was actually doing the
bridge walk, and I was probably about a ten or
eleven year old kid with my parents doing it, and
in my head, I'm like, oh my gosh, we gotta
walk for five miles. But in reality, I was on
cloud nine that whole time because it was white knuckle.
I was so scared walking over those grates. I'm the

(15:15):
oh walking over those gratees was so bad. At the
same time, just in awe of the Mackinaw Bridge, Like,
it's just such a cool and huge, gigantic thing that
for a kid like that's one of the modern marvels
of the world, like that thing is unbelievable. So it
was kind of.

Speaker 3 (15:30):
Mixed a sixteen York LMAO. I had a trailer behind me,
but my buddy was in front of me and his
wife was trying to crawl up under the dash. Megan Chick,
try being the ones hauling the snowmobile trailer yelling at
your husband to slow down.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
That sounds familiar.

Speaker 6 (15:46):
Guy.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
If you're not taking your friend over the grates for
her first time across, you're not doing it right. It's
so funny. But then I heard people that were like, oh,
you think this is bad, you need to take the
bridge over Lake patcha tra seventeen miles terrifying. I had
people telling me I need to go on the Zilwaukee Bridge.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
Zilwaukee's always was an adventure coming down.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
Yeah, I like Silwaukee. I would love to know if
you've got either a crazy bridge story. I had the
guy pop into my comments. I mean, it's the internet,
but I'm gonna believe him. Who For about ten years,
his job was to change the lights on the bridge.
See I climbed all the way to the top.

Speaker 2 (16:26):
We did that. We learned about that because that's the
job I thought I wanted as a kid because I
thought that guy made tons of money. And then we
saw the job listed and it was like you could
get paid up to twenty two dollars per hour, and
I'm like, that's sandwich hardest money in twenty twenty four.
That guy should be making bank.

Speaker 3 (16:40):
I gotta tell you. One of Chris's cousins came to
visit us last year and they were the last car
over the bridge before they shut it down because it
was too dangerous to cross. How many does that make
you feel.

Speaker 2 (16:52):
When you see that thing swaying and there are cars
in it? Is there like a trippier thing in your
head like that that doesn't compute. That's not shipping a
fine point seven time for her weekly ben session. Really
so sulky. And you know your whole family beats you
up about car stuff, don't they. None of them are
very Your husband comes for you all the time on it.

(17:14):
And now you've got the kids in on the action.

Speaker 3 (17:16):
I was in. I was definitely in dire need of
a little car check up. Yesterday. I was way over
mileage on the oil change. I knew my fluids were low,
my little higher pressure light that for a long time
I thought was just like a temperature thing was on
for a super long time.

Speaker 2 (17:30):
It was the temperature and exclamation point because right your staff,
that happens.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
I cannot believe I have had my amazing car for
as long as I have, because poor thing has been
ridden hard. So I decide to go to a local spot,
which really quick I would love to shout out Rockford
quick loop. Yeah, so lovely couple, gentlemen, family owned and
run and pull my car in there and they're just delightful.
They're explaining everything to me. They're going through and they're

(17:54):
talking to me about some of my different filters. They
did notice that my my oil was in desperate need
of change, and then he pulled out my one filter
and he was like explaining, Hey, this is this blah
blah blah. And my two kids are in the back
seat with me. I did school pickup and I thought, well,
this could be fun. It's only gonna take fifteen minutes.
We'll just pop over there. And they thought it was
so cool. Right, they're looking at everything in there, and

(18:15):
you get to you get to work underneath the floor.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
That's what I was gonna ask. I see there's a
person underneath them.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
So the windows are down and my daughter, my three
year old's, you know, saying hide everybody. And he shows
me my first filter. He's like, have you been getting
some tough gas mileage?

Speaker 2 (18:29):
I said, yeah, there's a lot of stuff on the
sucker walking Then it was really great.

Speaker 3 (18:35):
And then they pulled out my filter for like my
AC and heat and that was bad. And he brings
it over to my driver's side. He's like, and this
is what you guys have been breathing in. And my
six year old son goes, oh my gosh, mom, you
are so bad at cars.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
I was like, I've been that. You just ran into
a like top tier oil chain salesperson because imagine.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
You know, because they're wonderful. No no, no, no no, they
were so great, like they honestly they were explaining everything.
It was. They get me like they do a lady's day.
It was really great. I just honestly have been riding
that poor car and it was in need of this,
probably six to eight months ago.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
Shy, So Salky, your kids got your riding dirty sh
Midti thll it was I'm.

Speaker 3 (19:27):
Surprised I made it this long.

Speaker 4 (19:31):
Movies music and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
It's the Celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
Well, congrats are in order for Megan Fox officially confirming
she is expecting her first child with Machine Gun. Kelly,
the actress making the big announcement on Instagram yesterday, showing
off her baby buff with black paint covering her because
it's Megan Fox, while another black and white shot showed
her positive pregnancy text. Megan did tech and in the post,

(20:01):
confirming he's dad, writing in the caption nothing is ever
really lost. Welcome back with an angel and a heart emoji.
Fans think this is a reference to a miscarriage that
the couple unfortunately experienced, something that Megan revealed last year.
This is really interesting because if you remember back over
the summer, Megan had everyone guessing if she was actually

(20:22):
pregnant rocking a baby bump in mgk's Lonely Road music
video that collaboration he did with Jelly Roll, and nobody
really said anything about that. So the couple are apparently
back together and super excited to have a baby.

Speaker 5 (20:37):
Hi.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
This is my mother, Megan and my dad machine Gun.

Speaker 3 (20:41):
It's gonna be a weird kindergarten meeting, isn't that lightly?
A woman who says she was at what she believes
was a ditty freak off party is the claiming that
there were miners present. So TMZ has been kind of
doing this whole series on the Diddy parties and everything
that he's facing with these alleations. Denia Wallace is an

(21:01):
aspiring singer and songwriter. She says she was invited to
Diddy's party back in twenty eighteen by a Saudi prince
who flew her from LA to Miami. She describes in
vivid detail how there were clusters of people getting together,
many of whom seemed probably not sober, and she says

(21:23):
what she witnessed actually happened at seven a m. Denia
claims that the party had been going on all night.
But this is the alarming part.

Speaker 5 (21:32):
What are you doing?

Speaker 4 (21:33):
What are they doing here? Because this is a grown party.

Speaker 2 (21:35):
Are you talking about adults who are little people? Or
are you talking about miners?

Speaker 4 (21:42):
I am not going to get in trouble.

Speaker 3 (21:44):
I don't want to say I wouldn'tess any of that
crazy stuff, but we all have common sense. Little people
is not supposed to be here obviously this would be
another layer of this investigation because miners would deaf increase
the potential charges that Deddy would be facing.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
I mean, I feel like this is going to be
something that is ongoing for the next.

Speaker 3 (22:07):
Decade, very long time. Finally, Britney Spears is very excited
to be reconnecting face to face with one of her boys, Jaden,
after years of not seeing each other. But ex hubby
Kevin Federline is surprised to hear people calling it a
full back together relationship. So Jaden has seen Brittany a

(22:29):
couple of times recently since moving back to California from Hawaii,
where he was with Dad, but as for a full
on reconciliation, Kevin said he's very in the dark on this.
His lawyer said, if there's been a reconciliation, it is
definitely news to Kevin. While Kevin speaks to Jaden frequently
and is excited that maybe him and mom are back
in the terms, he has not been told about any

(22:51):
kind of serious reconciliation. He feels Jaden is definitely still
protecting his boundaries when it comes to Mom.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
I'm a life is a fragile one, for sure, but
you know, what that's a good sign, I feel like
and Brittany needs people in our course.

Speaker 3 (23:05):
Show all of your celeb scoop at West Michigan Star dot.

Speaker 2 (23:07):
Com, Smack and Smitty and it is time for your
Christmas Quiz and we are getting you out for an
absolute blast one of my favorite shows of the entire year,
talking about the Grand Rapids International Wine, Beer and Food Festival.

Speaker 3 (23:19):
Schmitty gr Wine Festival. If you want to grab some
tickets or see the layout and then win them with
us right now. Christmas Quiz. How many weeks before Christmas
do you send out cards?

Speaker 2 (23:31):
If I just sent them out at all, it would
be a Christmas miracle, Schmitty, because every year my wife
and I say, oh, we're going to kick a nice
family photo and we're gonna send it to all of
our friends and relatives, and then we never do not once.

Speaker 3 (23:42):
If you're a Schmitty friend, you get what we like
to call a New Year card. It can come anywhere
between December twenty eighth and February fifth, and I think
it sets us apart from the Christmas.

Speaker 2 (23:53):
Massive not just you know, following all those sheep Smitty doing.

Speaker 3 (23:56):
It Jo the Grain six one six four, five eight,
one five caller seven, how many weeks before Christmas do
you send out cards? You've got that top answer. You're
going to the seventeenth annual Grand Rapids International Wine, Beer
and Food Festival with Star one oh five point seven?

Speaker 2 (24:13):
Good morning Star? Who's this Lendy? Where are you coming
from today?

Speaker 1 (24:17):
Mar Michigan?

Speaker 2 (24:18):
All right?

Speaker 5 (24:19):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (24:19):
Do you send out Christmas cards from your family each year?

Speaker 5 (24:24):
Maybe like every other year?

Speaker 2 (24:25):
Maybe like every other year. That's every other year better
than me, so don't feel bad about that one. Let's
see here though, what would you say? Was the top
answer when one hundred folks were asked how many weeks
before Christmas should you send out cards? What do you think?
The top answer was three weeks before Christmas? You're going
three weeks before Christmas? See, I want to thought getting

(24:45):
it there just a little bit closer to Christmas was preferred,
but everybody else agrees with you. Three weeks the top answer,
well die, oh yeah, it was three weeks, followed by
two weeks, five weeks for you early bird overachievers, and
the in four weeks. Rounding out those top answers, I say,
if you get it there at all, you're doing pretty
good in life. But congratulations, Liddy, You're going to the

(25:08):
Grand Rapids International Wine, Beer and Food Festival.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
Okay, thank you.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
Yeah, it's gonna be a blashed over twelve hundred different
craft beers, wines, spirits, cocktails, and not to mention so
much food. You're gonna be drooling. And we'll have tickets
again for you tomorrow eight fifteen. Here on Star one
oh five point seven, five point seven. Good Morning's two,
West Michigan's Christmas Station. It's Mack and Schmitty hanging out.

(25:33):
And I gotta ask our fellow parents listening Schmitty how
they've dealt with it when one of their kids has
decided suddenly and really without even fully understanding the consequences
of the words that they're saying, has declared themselves to
be vegetarian.

Speaker 3 (25:48):
I kid stn't know that that term yet, so I
haven't had to deal with it. See.

Speaker 2 (25:52):
It's funny because we got into like carnivores and herbivores
and things like that during the dinosaur phases, So I mean,
the vegetarian conversation was like, no, that's when people are
her beivores. But my daughter Charlotte has had steak be
her favorite food for the longest time, and that all
of a sudden apparently just was thrown out the window

(26:13):
because we got the declaration that she was a vegetarian.
It's over because you know what, that's cow's dad, that's
steak is cows. Chickens are little baby chicks. They can't
be four grown. She's got the animal side, and it's
come out of the blue because she has never had
any sort of like, you know, conversations with us like hey,

(26:34):
I think I don't want to eat meat anymore, nothing
like that, and so I know as a parent my
job is to ignore this as much as possible so
that it doesn't become a thing. Unfortunately, my son, who's nine,
does not have that same mentality. So as we're getting
steak ready, I'm hoping that she's just going to dig
in and ignore the fact that she has just declared
herself vegetarian. And my son is going and the cow goes, oh,

(27:00):
it's so good. Yeah, the cow goes just right in
her ear, doing everything he can to be the most
annoying little brother possible.

Speaker 3 (27:08):
I was nervous because my son this past year understood
I guess I'll say what our uber family does with
their cows up north. Yeah, and full circle moment, he's
in the in the barn, we're feeding them, and then
he turns around, he looks at me, and he goes, Wow,
they're gonna be really delicious. So I figured at that

(27:28):
point he kind of gets this circle of life. And
you know, not that being vegetarian or vegan is there's
anything wrong with that. I told you that. I'm more annoying,
I think because I am flexitarian.

Speaker 2 (27:39):
Oh, flexatarian, yeah, which is where what you make things
up and choose when you're vegetarian.

Speaker 5 (27:44):
Right now, I.

Speaker 3 (27:45):
Mostly like I do enjoy more of a non meat diet,
but I can't say no to like tacos and hamburgers,
and I do eat a bunch of sugar.

Speaker 2 (27:54):
My sister reminded me, or my daughter reminded me of
my sister because she went through a phase where she
was vegetarian, except she would only eat the chicken from McDonald's.

Speaker 3 (28:02):
Flaxitarian. Welcome to my fan. Somedime, does I get a
good feeling.

Speaker 2 (28:14):
Well, a great start leads to a great day, and
that's what we try and do for you. Feeling good
right now and starting on five point seven. What's happening
this man?

Speaker 3 (28:19):
So, Bonnie Woodman here in Ottawa County, has come across
quite a remarkable journey while going through her family's history,
uncovering and astonishing twenty one veterans in her family dating
all the way back to the Revolutionary War. And because
Bonnie's discovered this, her interest in her family's history has

(28:40):
only grown into what has become a total passion. She
has saved so many things that she has found land
grants signed by Quincy Adams and Thomas Jefferson a part
of her family's personal collection. She tells Fox seventeen. This
work is a testament to her family's dedication to service.
See they've holding family reunions in her family since the

(29:03):
eighteen fifties. Her great great grandparents immigrated from Germany. When
the Civil War broke out, several ancestors joined the Union Army.
She has veterans from conflicts going from the Revolutionary War
all the way to both World Wars. Her uncle and
father in law served in World War One. Bonnie's dad, Earl,

(29:24):
helped build and repair pivotal bridge points in World War
to Germany. It's unbelievable she now is holding on to
those records to make sure that the stories survive.

Speaker 5 (29:36):
It's just, you know, been a accumulation of stuff.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
It's addictive.

Speaker 2 (29:40):
It's addictive and.

Speaker 3 (29:41):
A passion she's excited to pursue.

Speaker 2 (29:43):
That's pretty incredible. I mean, looking back at history like
that is always just kind of inspiring and amazing things.

Speaker 3 (29:49):
But to have it your own family, to have it
with twenty one veterans, great day for Bonnie. Yesterday, well, we.

Speaker 2 (29:55):
Were all glued to our tubes watching the Lions on
Sunday nights. There was group of people who were trying
to watch the game from thirty thousand feet and almost
had the ending spoiled by a flight attendant. If you
haven't seen this video that's gotten viral just yet, a
flight headed into Detroit Metro Airports Sunday night on the
final leg of its trip and they're watching the Lions
versus the Texans on there when all of the sudden,

(30:18):
the flight attendant starts to do her end of flight
spiel when they start their dissent, and obviously Lions fans
who were watching the game, all of a sudden, it's
with Jake Bates four seconds left, and you could tell
they weren't very happy that That was when the flight
attendant decided she wanted to give her speech center absolute
pleasure to have you on board site bypologies, Yeah the

(31:00):
plane at Rubs is she Actually she got the hint
really well as you started to hear those groans in
the beginning of the video like hey, hey, this is
not the time to be talking at all, as they
got to watch Jake Bates hit that fifty two yard
game winning field goal like other Lions fans on set.

Speaker 3 (31:16):
Yeah, that was a lesson learned, wasn't it.

Speaker 2 (31:18):
Big time. We'll put the video up for you at
West Michigan Star on Facebook and Instagram, And as always,
you catch feeling good here at six forty five and
