there shaped him. I heard it constantly, I still do.
Also with no fanfare. I saw him donate thousands of
dollars of clothes to veterans, including many homeless veterans, as

but maybe first, how is this for a novel idea?

our veterans yesterday. That includes the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard.
Since nineteen eighty two, they have delivered more than twenty
two thousand military salutes to fellow veterans at their funerals.
The team is eighty five men and women, all veterans themselves,

completely volunteer based to make sure those who have served
are honored the way they deserve, at zero cost to
the families. Bill Pellis is the guard's commander, who also
served in Vietnam with the Marine Corps, telling Wood this
is something he knew he wanted to do.

I knew when I retired that I wanted to do this.
I felt a calling to do this, like most of
the guys do. The Honor Guard in the military branches,
I consider to be like brothers and sisters.

services every year, all across Kent County, but they're hoping

My first experience with the Macinaw was actually doing the

walk for five miles. But in reality, I was on

I was so scared walking over those grates. I'm the

of change, and then he pulled out my one filter

blah blah. And my two kids are in the back
seat with me. I did school pickup and I thought, well,

We'll just pop over there. And they thought it was
so cool. Right, they're looking at everything in there, and

decided suddenly and really without even fully understanding the consequences
of the words that they're saying, has declared themselves to
be vegetarian.

haven't had to deal with it. See.

It's funny because we got into like carnivores and herbivores
and things like that during the dinosaur phases, So I mean,
the vegetarian conversation was like, no, that's when people are
her beivores. But my daughter Charlotte has had steak be
her favorite food for the longest time, and that all
of a sudden apparently just was thrown out the window

because we got the declaration that she was a vegetarian.
It's over because you know what, that's cow's dad, that's
steak is cows. Chickens are little baby chicks. They can't
be four grown. She's got the animal side, and it's
come out of the blue because she has never had
any sort of like, you know, conversations with us like hey,

I think I don't want to eat meat anymore, nothing
like that, and so I know as a parent my
job is to ignore this as much as possible so
that it doesn't become a thing. Unfortunately, my son, who's nine,
does not have that same mentality. So as we're getting
steak ready, I'm hoping that she's just going to dig
in and ignore the fact that she has just declared
herself vegetarian. And my son is going and the cow goes, oh,
(27:00):
it's so good. Yeah, the cow goes just right in
her ear, doing everything he can to be the most
annoying little brother possible.

I was nervous because my son this past year understood
I guess I'll say what our uber family does with
their cows up north. Yeah, and full circle moment, he's
in the in the barn, we're feeding them, and then
he turns around, he looks at me, and he goes, Wow,
they're gonna be really delicious. So I figured at that

point he kind of gets this circle of life. And
you know, not that being vegetarian or vegan is there's
anything wrong with that. I told you that. I'm more annoying,
I think because I am flexitarian.

Oh, flexatarian, yeah, which is where what you make things
up and choose when you're vegetarian.

Mostly like I do enjoy more of a non meat diet,
but I can't say no to like tacos and hamburgers,
and I do eat a bunch of sugar.

My sister reminded me, or my daughter reminded me of
my sister because she went through a phase where she
was vegetarian, except she would only eat the chicken from McDonald's.

So, Bonnie Woodman here in Ottawa County, has come across
quite a remarkable journey while going through her family's history,
uncovering and astonishing twenty one veterans in her family dating
all the way back to the Revolutionary War. And because
Bonnie's discovered this, her interest in her family's history has

only grown into what has become a total passion. She
has saved so many things that she has found land
grants signed by Quincy Adams and Thomas Jefferson a part
of her family's personal collection. She tells Fox seventeen. This
work is a testament to her family's dedication to service.
See they've holding family reunions in her family since the

eighteen fifties. Her great great grandparents immigrated from Germany. When
the Civil War broke out, several ancestors joined the Union Army.
She has veterans from conflicts going from the Revolutionary War
all the way to both World Wars. Her uncle and
father in law served in World War One. Bonnie's dad, Earl,

helped build and repair pivotal bridge points in World War
to Germany. It's unbelievable she now is holding on to
those records to make sure that the stories survive.

Were all glued to our tubes watching the Lions on
Sunday nights. There was group of people who were trying
to watch the game from thirty thousand feet and almost
had the ending spoiled by a flight attendant. If you
haven't seen this video that's gotten viral just yet, a
flight headed into Detroit Metro Airports Sunday night on the
final leg of its trip and they're watching the Lions
versus the Texans on there when all of the sudden,

the flight attendant starts to do her end of flight
spiel when they start their dissent, and obviously Lions fans
who were watching the game, all of a sudden, it's
with Jake Bates four seconds left, and you could tell
they weren't very happy that That was when the flight
attendant decided she wanted to give her speech center absolute
pleasure to have you on board site bypologies, Yeah the

plane at Rubs is she Actually she got the hint
really well as you started to hear those groans in
the beginning of the video like hey, hey, this is
not the time to be talking at all, as they
got to watch Jake Bates hit that fifty two yard
game winning field goal like other Lions fans on set.

disrespecting veterans on the Fox Sports Sunday NFL broadcast as
they were a bored and naval carrier in San Diego
during the national anthem. The rest of his co hosts
all had their hand over the heart, while Michael opted
to interlock his hands down at his waist. There's a

lot of backlash online well. Today A Glazer, one of
his fellow co hosts on Fox Sports, has given his
two cents and defending Michael, tweeting on as I've just
seen the criticism of Michael. Let me tell you this,
I don't know if I have a friend who's more
proud of his military roots than Michael growing up on
an army base constantly take talking about what he learned

from his dad, Major Jean Strahan and how his time
there shaped him. I heard it constantly, I still do.
Also with no fanfare. I saw him donate thousands of
dollars of clothes to veterans, including many homeless veterans, as
well as clothes for veterans to go on job interviews.
I know these days people want to be angry fast,
but maybe first, how is this for a novel idea?

Ask him if he's protesting something. If he's not, he
just got caught up, and how beautiful the whole moment
was during the anthem and didn't think about it. Let's
ask the dude before forming an angry mob. But also
find out all that he's done for our veterans over

like this. I thought it was an oversight on his

own class. Daphne Brooks is a professor of African American Studies,

of Beyonce's career, including her sound, fashion, and use of

NASCAR Cup Series Rookie of the Year. Yeah, I mean
this is pretty incredible. Out of Fordage, he had thirteen
top fifteen finishes in the NASCAR Series this year, six
top ten and a third place finish. He said, for
him now, it's just to win. He needs more races

under his belt, and he feels like that's exactly what's
going to happen. But talk to wood TV eight about
how it feels to win Rookie of the Year, it
means a lot.

I'm excited for our journey, aspire moving forward, right, but

our veterans yesterday. That includes the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard.
Since nineteen eighty two, they have delivered more than twenty
two thousand military salutes to fellow veterans at their funerals.
The team is eighty five men and women, all veterans themselves,

completely volunteer based to make sure those who have served
are honored the way they deserve, at zero cost to
the families. Bill Pellis is the guard's commander, who also
served in Vietnam with the Marine Corps, telling Wood this
is something he knew he wanted to do.

I knew when I retired that I wanted to do this.
I felt a calling to do this, like most of
the guys do. The Honor Guard in the military branches,
I consider to be like brothers and sisters.

services every year, all across Kent County, but they're hoping

other bridges I need to take her to now, and

When it comes to the Macinon Bridge. You are either

petrified or you think it is one of the most
stunning crossings in the entire world.

My first experience with the Macinaw was actually doing the
bridge walk, and I was probably about a ten or
eleven year old kid with my parents doing it, and
in my head, I'm like, oh my gosh, we gotta
walk for five miles. But in reality, I was on
cloud nine that whole time because it was white knuckle.
I was so scared walking over those grates. I'm the

oh walking over those gratees was so bad. At the
same time, just in awe of the Mackinaw Bridge, Like,
it's just such a cool and huge, gigantic thing that
for a kid like that's one of the modern marvels
of the world, like that thing is unbelievable. So it

Mixed a sixteen York LMAO. I had a trailer behind me,
but my buddy was in front of me and his
wife was trying to crawl up under the dash. Megan Chick,

If you're not taking your friend over the grates for

people telling me I need to go on the Zilwaukee Bridge.

Zilwaukee's always was an adventure coming down.

Yeah, I like Silwaukee. I would love to know if
you've got either a crazy bridge story. I had the
guy pop into my comments. I mean, it's the internet,

his job was to change the lights on the bridge.

We did that. We learned about that because that's the
job I thought I wanted as a kid because I
thought that guy made tons of money. And then we
saw the job listed and it was like you could
get paid up to twenty two dollars per hour, and

I gotta tell you. One of Chris's cousins came to
visit us last year and they were the last car
over the bridge before they shut it down because it
was too dangerous to cross. How many does that make
you feel.

When you see that thing swaying and there are cars
in it? Is there like a trippier thing in your
head like that that doesn't compute. That's not shipping a
fine point seven time for her weekly ben session. Really
so sulky. And you know your whole family beats you
up about car stuff, don't they. None of them are
very Your husband comes for you all the time on it.

I was in. I was definitely in dire need of
a little car check up. Yesterday. I was way over
mileage on the oil change. I knew my fluids were low,
my little higher pressure light that for a long time
I thought was just like a temperature thing was on
for a super long time.

It was the temperature and exclamation point because right your staff,
that happens.

I cannot believe I have had my amazing car for
as long as I have, because poor thing has been
ridden hard. So I decide to go to a local spot,

quick loop. Yeah, so lovely couple, gentlemen, family owned and
run and pull my car in there and they're just delightful.
They're explaining everything to me. They're going through and they're

talking to me about some of my different filters. They
did notice that my my oil was in desperate need
of change, and then he pulled out my one filter
and he was like explaining, Hey, this is this blah
blah blah. And my two kids are in the back
seat with me. I did school pickup and I thought, well,
this could be fun. It's only gonna take fifteen minutes.
We'll just pop over there. And they thought it was
so cool. Right, they're looking at everything in there, and

you get to you get to work underneath the floor.

That's what I was gonna ask. I see there's a
person underneath them.

So the windows are down and my daughter, my three
year old's, you know, saying hide everybody. And he shows
me my first filter. He's like, have you been getting
some tough gas mileage?

I said, yeah, there's a lot of stuff on the
sucker walking Then it was really great.

And then they pulled out my filter for like my
AC and heat and that was bad. And he brings
it over to my driver's side. He's like, and this
is what you guys have been breathing in. And my
six year old son goes, oh my gosh, mom, you
are so bad at cars.

I was like, I've been that. You just ran into
a like top tier oil chain salesperson because imagine.

You know, because they're wonderful. No no, no, no no, they
were so great, like they honestly they were explaining everything.
It was. They get me like they do a lady's day.

that poor car and it was in need of this,
probably six to eight months ago.

Diddy's party back in twenty eighteen by a Saudi prince
who flew her from LA to Miami. She describes in

they've dealt with it when one of their kids has
decided suddenly and really without even fully understanding the consequences
of the words that they're saying, has declared themselves to
be vegetarian.

I kid stn't know that that term yet, so I
haven't had to deal with it. See.

It's funny because we got into like carnivores and herbivores
and things like that during the dinosaur phases, So I mean,
the vegetarian conversation was like, no, that's when people are
her beivores. But my daughter Charlotte has had steak be
her favorite food for the longest time, and that all
of a sudden apparently just was thrown out the window

because we got the declaration that she was a vegetarian.
It's over because you know what, that's cow's dad, that's
steak is cows. Chickens are little baby chicks. They can't
be four grown. She's got the animal side, and it's
come out of the blue because she has never had
any sort of like, you know, conversations with us like hey,
(26:34):
I think I don't want to eat meat anymore, nothing
like that, and so I know as a parent my
job is to ignore this as much as possible so
that it doesn't become a thing. Unfortunately, my son, who's nine,
does not have that same mentality. So as we're getting
steak ready, I'm hoping that she's just going to dig
in and ignore the fact that she has just declared
herself vegetarian. And my son is going and the cow goes, oh,
(27:00):
it's so good. Yeah, the cow goes just right in
her ear, doing everything he can to be the most
annoying little brother possible.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
I was nervous because my son this past year understood
I guess I'll say what our uber family does with
their cows up north. Yeah, and full circle moment, he's
in the in the barn, we're feeding them, and then
he turns around, he looks at me, and he goes, Wow,
they're gonna be really delicious. So I figured at that
(27:28):
point he kind of gets this circle of life. And
you know, not that being vegetarian or vegan is there's
anything wrong with that. I told you that. I'm more annoying,
I think because I am flexitarian.
Speaker 2 (27:39):
Oh, flexatarian, yeah, which is where what you make things
up and choose when you're vegetarian.

Right now, I.

Mostly like I do enjoy more of a non meat diet,
but I can't say no to like tacos and hamburgers,
and I do eat a bunch of sugar.

My sister reminded me, or my daughter reminded me of
my sister because she went through a phase where she
was vegetarian, except she would only eat the chicken from McDonald's.

Well, a great start leads to a great day, and

So, Bonnie Woodman here in Ottawa County, has come across
quite a remarkable journey while going through her family's history,
uncovering and astonishing twenty one veterans in her family dating
all the way back to the Revolutionary War. And because
Bonnie's discovered this, her interest in her family's history has

only grown into what has become a total passion. She
has saved so many things that she has found land
grants signed by Quincy Adams and Thomas Jefferson a part
of her family's personal collection. She tells Fox seventeen. This
work is a testament to her family's dedication to service.
See they've holding family reunions in her family since the

eighteen fifties. Her great great grandparents immigrated from Germany. When
the Civil War broke out, several ancestors joined the Union Army.
She has veterans from conflicts going from the Revolutionary War
all the way to both World Wars. Her uncle and
father in law served in World War One. Bonnie's dad, Earl,

helped build and repair pivotal bridge points in World War
to Germany. It's unbelievable she now is holding on to
those records to make sure that the stories survive.

It's just, you know, been a accumulation of stuff.

It's addictive.

A passion she's excited to pursue.

that is always just kind of inspiring and amazing things.

But to have it your own family, to have it
with twenty one veterans, great day for Bonnie. Yesterday, well, we.

Were all glued to our tubes watching the Lions on
Sunday nights. There was group of people who were trying
to watch the game from thirty thousand feet and almost
had the ending spoiled by a flight attendant. If you
haven't seen this video that's gotten viral just yet, a
flight headed into Detroit Metro Airports Sunday night on the
final leg of its trip and they're watching the Lions
versus the Texans on there when all of the sudden,

the flight attendant starts to do her end of flight
spiel when they start their dissent, and obviously Lions fans
who were watching the game, all of a sudden, it's
with Jake Bates four seconds left, and you could tell
they weren't very happy that That was when the flight
attendant decided she wanted to give her speech center absolute
pleasure to have you on board site bypologies, Yeah the

plane at Rubs is she Actually she got the hint
really well as you started to hear those groans in
the beginning of the video like hey, hey, this is
not the time to be talking at all, as they
got to watch Jake Bates hit that fifty two yard
game winning field goal like other Lions fans on set.
