Speaker 1 (00:00):
Mack and Schmitty in the morning on West Michigan's Christmas
station Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Good morning, Smitty, Good morning.
Speaker 1 (00:08):
Welcome into your Wednesday, and it starts a little warmer
than it's gonna finish. Schmid forties out there right now
with you know, possible showers around West Michigan this morning,
but this afternoon into this evening is when we're gonna
see some showers here and there, Schmidty. But it's also
when temperatures are going to continue to fall and get
a little bit closer and closer to freezing until as
(00:29):
a chance we might be seeing some of those flakes.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Finally, Yeah, tomorrow morning, it's gonna be messy, so make
sure that you are prepared for that. We've been kind
of getting the warning from a storm teammates Sarah Flynn.
That's like we held off for a while, but we
might see a little bit and then you know, by
the weekend it could be close to fifty.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
So because we can get like an early snow this year,
you know, we got that big dumping on Halloween. I
feel like last yeah, the last year, and then so
far nothing this year. Do you miss it right now?
Do you want just even like a couple of days
with the fl are dropping, the music's playing, you're seeing
some of the lights.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
You want to wait a little bit.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
You like the war, right, I'm good with no snow
just yet. I mean, we've got enough fake snow in
our house right now. The Christmas Binz came out last night,
So we're on our way. That's fair, on our way,
that's fair. Plus, you know it's gonna beautiful this weekend
when people are out there doing the Winter Wonder Walk
over at LMCU Ballpark. Smitting won't have to be all
full decked out in snow gear with I know the kids.
(01:25):
That makes things so much easier hopefully. Yeah, movies, music
and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
Well, further legal problems for Ditty now being sued by
two more people. Tony Buzzby, that Texas attorney representing more
than one hundred and twenty alleged Ditty victims, just filed
another pair of lawsuits against the Bad Boy Records founder.
It involves a woman in New York and a man
in Florida who both claim they were drugged and assaulted
(02:00):
by the rapper. This is also a very strange part
of this. According to one TikToker, private investigators are allegedly
on the hunt to find influencers who might know about
celebrities that are entangled in Ditty's criminal and civil cases. Apparently,
this seems so odd that the LAPD has now gotten involved.
(02:23):
So Samson Krupen is his name. He's a big influencer
on TikTok, and he posted a video to his account
showing what looks like two pis who came to his
personal home asking about what he knew regarding celebrities linked
to Ditty. It's very uncomfortable.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
This is very uncomfortable. You guys, I don't know why. No,
you're at my home?
Speaker 4 (02:46):
Okay, so you don't want to talk to us in.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Have I broken some law?
Speaker 5 (02:50):
Absolutely?
Speaker 2 (02:51):
This is frightening. I think. Can you guys step away
from my home.
Speaker 5 (02:54):
Listen.
Speaker 6 (02:55):
We're gonna try to give him a tom.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Why are you here? What do you mean you're showing
up at my house?
Speaker 3 (02:59):
We're very nice, respect and we will be two quod
questions for you and if you want to be interested
in it, great, If not, I'll have a nice day.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
We're not what is this? This is odd?
Speaker 3 (03:08):
So apparently the two guys were kind of asking the
same question, wondering if anyone was paying Samson to talk
about Diddy to his followers. He said he'd never been
paid to create content, and eventually they left, but Samson
did end up filing a harassment complaint with the LAPD,
who's now investigating.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
Well, I know that.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
There was also a lawsuit filed against Tony Busby against
a prominent person known as just John Doe. In the
lawsuit basically saying that he's running a extortion scam over
people coming and saying, hey, if you don't pay us money,
we're going to make sure that your name's involved in
all this.
Speaker 3 (03:40):
Yeah, there's also a second influencer that has come forward
and said she was approached by the same exact private investigators.
Jalil White aka Steve Urkele is opening up about his
now non existent relationship with his former co star Will Smith.
In a new interview with US Weekly, he talks about
what he writes in his new memoir, saying, what's weird
(04:02):
is when you cross paths in our business, you never
quite know how much or how little a moment meant
to each other that can really play with your brain.
He admits it did not go nearly the way I
thought it was going to go, with the things that
I said about my interactions with Will and Jelil admits
he made a ton of mistakes while talking about his
relationship with Fame, especially in regards to talking about their
(04:25):
falling out. He said, I just want Will to know
I'm not sure he ever did how much I admired
his forging ahead. He admits that he did bring some
projects to Will and wanted to work together, but he
just became such a big star that he just felt
ignored and kind of tossed aside, but said, listen, ultimately,
(04:46):
I would really love to kind of get back in
the good graces of the dude.
Speaker 4 (04:50):
We had a really great time when we worked together.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
Well, and at one point in time, those guys were
probably two of the biggest stars on television, as both
Family Matters and Fresh Friends of bel Air were like
kind of in They're you know tough.
Speaker 4 (05:01):
Yeah, same time.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
And finally, Netflix saw massive streaming numbers for that Mike
Tyson Jake Paul fight, despite the problems for a lot
of customers They just announced one hundred and eight million
people streaming the fight. That is absolutely wild, at an
(05:23):
average minute audience of one hundred and eight million. It
jumped to one hundred and twenty five over the weekend
for people to watch back, the number one viewed show
in seventy eight countries Friday night.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
I mean that is same. It is staggery numbers. When
you're talking about a guy who's fighting a man twice
his age, two year Shia sixty give me a break.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
But everybody, you know, when you look into these numbers,
it's the women. Yeah, Aadie Taylor and Amanda Serrano were
the ones that really hit this big most watched women's
sporting event in history, seventy four million people for all
of your scoop had West Michigan Star dot com.
Speaker 7 (06:04):
Sometimes does that get a good feeling?
Speaker 1 (06:08):
Yeah, well, brightening up your holiday season and every morning
feeling good right now and starting on five points seven,
it's Mack and Schmidty and this is just really cool
to see. Got to shout out some students in Muskegan
Township at Orchard View Elementary School. The pre school students,
kindergarten first graders teamed up to do something awesome. They
were raising toilet trees, canned goods and other items for
(06:31):
people in need and thirteen on your side. Stop by
the classroom just yesterday asking the kids if they knew
how much they had raised, Well, you know what, they
weren't exactly sure, but they did know that it was
quite a bit.
Speaker 4 (06:42):
How much did you guys collect?
Speaker 8 (06:44):
Do you know?
Speaker 6 (06:45):
I'll go because it's fun to share. Selection fool was
my people. If we want them to survive, and if
they don't survive, then people will go machine in their town.
We could donate them to people that live on the.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
Streets and if those weren't the cutest dang voices, the
amount that they raised pretty incredible. They collected nearly seven
thousand items to hand out.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
Principal Megan Johnson said the school had actually partnered with
Mission for Area People is part of their Carrying School
Community curriculum, and last year they managed to collect two
thousand items, so more than tripled it this year, to
which Principal Johnson just said, you know what, these kids
are amazing and are definitely going to be bright stars
in the future.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
Too.
Speaker 4 (07:29):
Makes me very proud and know that they have a
sense of belonging in our school, in our district, and
even out in the community. So I can tell we
have some real leaders here.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
So big shout out to the kids at Orchard View
Elementary School seven thousand items for people in need.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
All right, you might have missed this on Sunday, very
cool moment at Ford Field when coach Dan Campbell actually
met with very special guests world War Two veterans, all
Michigan natives as part of the big Salute to Nervis game.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
Gentleman, how are you hey? Good?
Speaker 7 (08:03):
Good to meet you guys.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
Oh man, I'm a hundred listen. Man, that's a hell
of a life.
Speaker 9 (08:08):
I can tell you that.
Speaker 10 (08:09):
Thank you for your service.
Speaker 6 (08:11):
For set you gentlemen.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
First hit everything you don't need to stand up for man, general.
Speaker 5 (08:16):
I.
Speaker 4 (08:18):
Yeah, I liked, thank you. I love that. I just
wanted to see how tall you really are.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
It was an incredible moment and a double feeling good
because I gotta tell you, it's not just Detroit. Seems
like all of America is rooting for the Lions. NFL
three forty five just released a list of the top
ten selling NFL jerseys of the year, and you've got
Detroit Lions defensive end Aiden Hutchinson at number four on
(08:45):
the list, and wide receiver I'm and Ross Saint Brown
at number six. Also the best selling jerseys for non.
Speaker 4 (08:54):
Qbs in the league. So you keep that kool aid going, Guys.
Speaker 3 (08:59):
Movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
It's the celebrities goop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Well Comedian, actor and former SNL member Pete Davidson is
not nursing a broken heart, nor has he checked himself
back into rehab. The rumors were swirling yesterday, but his
falsely alleged ex girlfriend is the one who is shutting
down these growing rumors.
Speaker 4 (09:27):
So here is the deal.
Speaker 3 (09:29):
Maria Georgia's took to her Instagram stories amid all of
this gossip, attempting to set the record straight. She starts
by saying, I never dated Pete. This is a false rumor.
I am really close friends with his sister. Case closed.
She then posted, I just spoke to his sister. He
is not in rehab. He has been sober for months
(09:51):
and I can't believe this belief. It's very insulting to
his recovery, his mental health. He's literally at home and.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
Doing I wonder what triggered the rumors. I mean, he's
been doing fantastically well. It looks like have you seen
all the tattoos the guy hand removed?
Speaker 3 (10:08):
Yeah, I don't know, but I'm glad that she did
point out this kind of stuff actually can be really
damaging to somebody's journey of sobriety. So maybe we just
shut that down. And good on Maria for doing just that.
Post Malone has a big tour coming our way. This
was really really cool announced yesterday. I'm not gonna say
(10:30):
the second word, but the big bleep stadium tour and
it's going to make a Detroit stop.
Speaker 4 (10:35):
He's joining forces with Jelly Roll.
Speaker 3 (10:38):
So Post Malone with Jelly Roll gonna be at Detroit
coming up May eighteenth. This stadium tour will kick off
in April and go through July. After making the tour announcement,
fans got another big surprise that it looks like he
is going to be headlining Coachella next year. He's got
dates listed in Indio, Cali on April thirteenth and April twentieth.
(11:00):
Both of those are the weekends of Coachella, and if
it brings Jelly Roll along as well, this would be
absolutely incredible. I like that rights for sweet and finally,
I think this news is astonishing and incredible. Fleetwood Mac
will finally have their story told in an upcoming documentary.
(11:23):
They're joining forces with the Kennedy Marshall Company and have
totally greenlit a fully authorized documentary that's going to be
coming to Apple TV Plus. They say they are thrilled
on this continuing partnership. It will be the very first
time the Grammy Award winning group gives an account of
(11:45):
their career in their own words. So that most famous
lineup of course, Mickfleetwood, John McPhee unfortunately Christy mcpee passing
away in November a couple of years ago. Lindsey Buckingham,
Stevie Nicks, Peter Green, Danny Kerwin, Jeremy Spencer and Bob Welsh,
who remembers at different points in the band's history, are
(12:06):
going to have a part of this. They're calling it
absolutely phenomenal. We don't have a title or a release
date yet, but I think it's big enough news that
they all said yep, we're good and we're going to
be the ones.
Speaker 4 (12:17):
That talk about it.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
And this band has been going through nothing but drama.
I feel like for fifty plus years, Shmitty.
Speaker 3 (12:23):
I wonder if they'll be in the same room together,
or if this is going to be like, Hey, we'll
go to your house.
Speaker 4 (12:27):
We'll go to your house, We'll go to your house.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
I've got a few more details for you with your
scoop at West Michigan Star dot com.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
Chrismiss Schmitty. Not just about presidence, of course, about family.
And you mentioned it a compromise.
Speaker 4 (12:40):
A Christmas compromise gone wrong.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
So I posted two back to back picks on our
Facebook and I asked, it's a question I think a
lot of households fight about. Are you team soft white
Christmas lights or multi color? I have to tell you
slightly disappointed to see how many multi color fans we
have out there, because I'll be honest, I am very
bland schmidty. I want all soft white lights. I want
(13:05):
my Christmas tree, my mantle, all my outdoor lights. I
just think it looks so classic. My husband, a fully
grown toddler, wants everything rainbow he could get his hands on.
He even bothos old school bubbler lights found him. He
found him. But heads up, if you're out there looking
they take a very strange hookup and plug. So we've
(13:29):
had him for like three years and we've never been
able to figure out how to get them to work.
But he swears this year, this is the year he
gets his bubbler lights. So in the past we've gone
back and forth. We have the soft white year and
we have the multicolor year. And he came to a
head yesterday because we put up our Christmas tree. My
husband came back from the up It is a tradition
(13:49):
after he's done with deer camp. His family up north
owns a Christmas tree farm, and so he goes out
on the quad with Will and they pick out the
tree and it was awesome. But then he brings a
home home and my kids are like, we gotta get
it up. We gotta put it up right now. We
can't just like sit in the backyard.
Speaker 4 (14:04):
We gotta put it up.
Speaker 3 (14:05):
So we put on a Christmas movie, we put up
the tree, and then we put on the lights and
I was like, ah, it's my soft white year. He goes,
I'm pretty sure it's a multicolor year. He said, oh no,
And that's when he came up with the India to
buy the lights that change's which I see a lot
of people saying, right, yes, Lenai, you've got the ones
that change. Judy very wise, Jennifer, awesome. You guys don't
(14:28):
have kids, because what ended up happening last night were
my two adorable six and three year old children realizing
it's not just multicolor or soft white. There is a
mixed vibe. There is a twinkle vibe. There is a
flash on and off vibe. So I am now stuck
with a tree that is in the middle of a
(14:50):
rave twenty four hours a day.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
You know what?
Speaker 1 (14:55):
I love that I actually in our studio here this
year we got a new tree in this tree.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
It's terrible.
Speaker 4 (15:03):
Can you turn the star off?
Speaker 2 (15:04):
Because all the stars?
Speaker 4 (15:07):
Yes, in my screen is the blinking Christmas Shop.
Speaker 9 (15:10):
Matty.
Speaker 1 (15:11):
I got a little remote right here. You can can
turn this control of the star. It's got nine different
flashes what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
And so now I'm like, I was trying to be
so nice, so friendly, you know, acting more christ like
for the holiday season, and I thought, awesome, when I'm
at work, Chris can have his multicolored tree when he's
working in his home office. When I get home, I
have my soft white not anymore now. I walked out
to work this morning and it was like, I don't
(15:37):
even know how to describe it. It looked like a
giant open sign for somebody that like has weird business
hours overnight, and I know all our neighbors can see
because all you know, we've got our blinds up, and
it's just like this that it's so overstimulating that I think,
when they're all out of the house, I'm just gonna
(15:58):
strip the tree and we're not gonna have any life.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
I like the idea of your neighbors walking by your
new neighbors mind you just being able to be like.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
You know what, you can tell that family is really.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
Into Christmas and they like to party, like without a
doubt they get yeah.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
I mean, we've lived there.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
Long enough, they're gonna be like, oh look, they're just
as messy as they've always been. So just that's my
personal Christmas warning. If you do have those lights that change,
there's ten other settings, and if your kids figure it out,
you two will be blinded by the.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
Blinking come on in too. It's back in Schmitty and Wednesdays.
We own our parenting fails with another.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
So I don't think I've ever made it a secret
that I've got problems with my potti mouth. I've just
got a bit of a salty language about me. I
try really hard when my kids are around. I do,
because I don't want them to pick up that bad habit.
But my son, my six year old, my six year
old went up north with my husband for deer camp
this past week and they got back the other night
(16:59):
and Chris goes, hey, we got to talk, and they said, what, like,
I'm in trouble. I'm We didn't even bunny around each
other for six days.
Speaker 4 (17:06):
What did I do?
Speaker 3 (17:07):
He goes Will had some seriously bad language at deer camp.
Speaker 4 (17:14):
I was like, what do you mean?
Speaker 3 (17:15):
And I won't say the words, but for one in particular,
I'm very very terrible at taking the Lord's name in vain,
which is not my proudest moment.
Speaker 4 (17:24):
Oh yeah, not my proudest moment.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
And the Catholic guilt settles in so very very deep right,
and apparently, uh yeah, he said the J word a
few times proper context, but not.
Speaker 4 (17:36):
What we want to be teaching. And I was like, okay,
I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (17:40):
And Chris goes no, no, Like the other guys at
deer Camp were literally jaws on the floor like, oh buddy,
we don't talk like that. And the wave of embarrassment
and mortification that came over me as I'm like, oh,
he got scolded by other dudes at deer Camp.
Speaker 4 (18:00):
I have got to fix my mouth.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
That's what I was gonna say.
Speaker 1 (18:03):
You know, language of deer Camp is different than other places,
like things come out, you know, words, fly experience.
Speaker 4 (18:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (18:12):
No, this smitty vocabularies got to shape up because my
poor son is gonna get in big.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
Trouble well as a Catholic kids, Minnie, I gotta tell
you he's got at least ten hill Mary's waiting for
him the next time he has to talk to a priest.
Speaker 3 (18:29):
Oh boy, movies, music and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
It's the celebrities, scoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
I mean to be fair. Cher did give the warning.
I don't think Hoda thought she would actually say this.
A very funny moment on The Today Show yesterday, Cher
stopping in to talk about her new memoir Part one,
talking about a conversation she had regarding her big breakup
with Sonny Bona and saying she reached out to a
(19:02):
very interesting person to get advice on how to handle
that publicly.
Speaker 4 (19:06):
But listen to what she dropped.
Speaker 5 (19:08):
You sought out another iconic woman for advice during this
whole mess.
Speaker 8 (19:11):
You called Lucille Ball, Yes, and what did she tell
you to do? I can't say it on TV? Okay,
I said, Lucy, I'm calling you. I know when I
was a little said Lucy, I'm calling you because there
to my knowledge, there's never been a situation besides mine
except yours. And so she said, I'm real.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
The one with the tell.
Speaker 3 (19:35):
Okay, I mean Hodan literally almost falls off her chair like,
oh you you.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
Said it and for it.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
I'm not sure if they did bleep it live because
I got two texts yesterday from people that were like, oh,
Share just dropped a naughty word on the Today Show.
That one's on HOLDA that one's got to be she wondered.
Twice she said, I'm shared. I'm gonna be honest about this.
Actress Florence Pew is getting real about her reproductive health
(20:05):
and her journey to become a mom, talking about the
mind boggling realization it was at a recent doctor's appointment
that she would have to freeze her eggs at twenty
seven in order to have any chance of having kids.
She opened up on the She and D podcast about
her PCOS and endometriosis diagnosis, saying, boy, this is awareness
(20:29):
as well. Advocate for yourself and talk to your doctor.
Speaker 5 (20:32):
I learned completely different information age twenty seven that I
need to get my eggs out and do it quickly,
which was just a bit of a mind bobbling realization
and one I'm really really lucky and glad that I've
found out when I did, because I've been wanting kids
since I was a child.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
Yeah, she said that kind of on her life plan.
She's like, oh, wait, another five years or so, and
she said, thank goodness, I met the incredible doctor that
I have who looked at me and said, I don't
have five years. This isn't gonna happen for you unless
we take drastic measures right now. And she's just once
again talking about the need for top notch healthcare, especially
for women.
Speaker 1 (21:09):
Yeah, that is a wild story. And to be told
that when you're what you feel like is still very
very young.
Speaker 3 (21:14):
And she talked about like her mom having babies into
her forties, her gran having babies later than that, so
she said, this is really wild and every woman needs
to have this conversation.
Speaker 4 (21:23):
Finally, it has been plagued.
Speaker 3 (21:26):
With controversy following the death of cinematographer Helena Hutchins, but
the movie Rust is finally set to debut today at
a big movie festival in Poland. However, Helena's mother will
not be there. She actually issued a statement saying it
was always my hope to meet my daughter in Poland
(21:46):
to watch her work come alive on screen.
Speaker 4 (21:49):
She lives in Ukraine, the mom does.
Speaker 3 (21:51):
Unfortunately, that was ripped away from me when Alec Baldwin
discharged his gun and killed my daughter. Alec Baldwin continues
to increase my pain with his refusal to apologize to
me and his refusal to take responsibility for her death. Instead,
he seeks to unjustly profit from his killing of my daughter.
Says that's the reason she refuses to attend the festival
(22:13):
or had anything to do with promotion for Rust. But
I thought this was interesting. We've talked about whether or
not people would still want to see this movie.
Speaker 4 (22:21):
The movie, like I said, coming out.
Speaker 3 (22:23):
Today, actually crashed websites with so many people wanting tickets
to this premiere.
Speaker 2 (22:30):
It's kind of a morbid thing.
Speaker 4 (22:32):
A few morbid things. Yeah wow.
Speaker 1 (22:34):
At the same time, for Alec Baldwin, you know his
lawyers are on the back end going. You know, the
one thing that you definitely can't do, it's take responsibility
for this because we're literally still in the legal throes.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
Of this thing.
Speaker 4 (22:44):
All right, all of your scoop at West Michigan Star.
Speaker 1 (22:46):
Dot com selling a fine point seven that's Mack and Smidty.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
Let's do it.
Speaker 1 (22:50):
Your Christmas quiz time and your opportunity to go and
check out the incredible Winter Wonderwalk going on Saturday and
Sunday at LMCU Ballpark with a Christmas slight show.
Speaker 3 (23:00):
We just need the answer to your Christmas quiz. What's
the place open on Christmas Day?
Speaker 6 (23:07):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (23:07):
The answer for me is most definitely gas stations, because inevitably,
when I forget a gift for someone on Christmas or
feel like you do not go to a guest da
Oh heck, yes I do, because lotto tickets make for
an excellent.
Speaker 3 (23:19):
Press honestly, and I'll give a shot out unless it's
Jane h Family Stories, which has literally everything and it
is a great spot for that. I'm judging you, all right,
Sex one six four five eight, one oh five seven?
Speaker 4 (23:29):
What's the place open on Christmas Day?
Speaker 3 (23:32):
Come a long way since that scene from a Christmas
Story where they're eating duck at the Chinese restaurant? Callers seven,
you've got the answer. We're sending you to the Winter
wonder Walk at MCU Ballpark with Star one oh five
point seven.
Speaker 2 (23:44):
Good morning star. Who's this, Sasha?
Speaker 1 (23:47):
Where are you calling from today?
Speaker 2 (23:49):
All right? You gotta tell me.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
When one hundred adults were asked to name a place
that's open on Christmas Day, what.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
Was their top answer?
Speaker 3 (23:57):
Casino?
Speaker 1 (23:58):
Ooh that casino, you know, because casinos they never closed.
I don't feel like and casino not on this list.
Good guess though, Thank you? Good morning star.
Speaker 2 (24:07):
Who's this Oliver? Olivia? How old are you? Are you
excited for Christmasmas? Olivia? What are you asking Santa Claus
for this year?
Speaker 6 (24:16):
Ap Oh?
Speaker 1 (24:18):
An apple watch? That's a that's a big gift from
Santa Claus. Have you been really good? Well, let's see
if he brings it for you and maybe you'll get
out for some Christmas fun. You got to give me
the top answer. When one hundred adults were asked, Olivia,
what's the place that's open on Christmas Day? I just
heard a good guess the casino, which is open on Christmas,
but that was not a top answer. So what do
(24:40):
you think it is, Olivia? A movie theater. Yeah, you
know a lot of people's Christmas traditions are even to
go check out a movie on Christmas Day sometimes, But
you know what, that's the number four answer, Olivia. I'm
so sorry. Good luck with the Apple Watch though. Okay,
oh I see you, high star. Who's this a Camden?
(25:02):
How old are you?
Speaker 2 (25:03):
Camden? Okay, ten years old?
Speaker 1 (25:06):
Well, I just had eight year old Olivia on there
and she had a great guest. But one hundred adults
were asked to name a place open on Christmas Day.
She said the movie theater, and yeah, movie theaters are
open on Christmas. But that was the number four answer
on there. I also heard a guest of the casino,
which was not on my list. So Camden, you got
a chance to win, buddy, what do you think the
top answer is? Yeah? Hospital for those holiday mishabs, you know,
(25:31):
wrapping paper cannd be more dangerous than people think.
Speaker 2 (25:33):
Hospital's the top answer. Where do you go, buddy? You
guys are gonna go check.
Speaker 1 (25:38):
Out the Winter wonder Walk this weekend over at LMCU
Ballpark with the Christmas Light show.
Speaker 2 (25:43):
Congrats, thank you, you are so welcome.
Speaker 1 (25:47):
Hopefully just the start of the Christmas fun for you, Camden,
and we'll be trying to get you and your family
in again.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
Tomorrow eight fifteen.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
Here on Star one oh five points out, good.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
Morning to you.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
It's Mack and Schmidty and I got to ask you
about somebody else's dream here, Schmitty, because when it's your
own dream, that's one thing, because you can kind of
internalize those things. When it's somebody else's dream. I didn't
know how to react to this. Yesterday our coworker Mike
from B ninety three, he goes, hey, I got to
tell you about my dream. And this is while we're
standing outside of the elevator bank right here on the
(26:19):
ninth floor in downtown gr and I'm like, well, I
gotta run downstairs. He's like, cool, I'm leaving to come
with me. And then we get on the elevator and
he goes, oh, maybe I should have told you about
this before we got on the elevator, so wyanie. He goes, well,
I had a dream about you last night. I said, well, thanks, man,
I'm flattered that kind of dream. Goes we were on
the elevator together and I don't know what happened, but
we're going down and all of a sudden, the elevator
(26:42):
tipped and the doors flew open, and you fell out
of the elevator, and I watched you fall all the
way to the basement. We're on the elevator, Smitty, and
mind you, these elevators are one hundred and ninety seven
years old.
Speaker 2 (26:57):
We have one.
Speaker 1 (26:58):
We have three elevators. One of the hasn't been working
for what now, two months.
Speaker 3 (27:02):
I'll be honest, I do think I'm going to pass
at the elevators in our office.
Speaker 4 (27:06):
There's like no doubt in my mind. That's how I go.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
I am so like, I'm like, you thought that. The
place to tell me this, Mike is as we're traveling
down on this elevator as it makes all sorts of
weird creaks and groans because it's age, And he's like, yeah, man,
it was it was wild. He goes, in all honesty,
I was shook it up from it, and I go.
Speaker 9 (27:24):
You didn't die, bro, I'm here, So I'm not sure
if this then is about you or him, but a
dream about an elevator following symbolizes a lack of control
or anxiety, such as your job or relationship not being
in a good place.
Speaker 1 (27:39):
Ooh, does that mean that Mike and I have relationship problems?
Is that kind of what?
Speaker 2 (27:43):
Is that?
Speaker 8 (27:44):
What?
Speaker 4 (27:44):
That actually case scenario, isn't it?
Speaker 2 (27:47):
I guess?
Speaker 7 (27:48):
So?
Speaker 1 (27:49):
Do you put a lot of stock into people's dreams?
Are they premonitions? Got this on Facebook and Instagram? Ad
to West Michigan Star?
Speaker 4 (28:00):
Does that get a good feeling?
Speaker 1 (28:02):
Well, let's brighten up this cloudy day. It's feeling good
on Star one five point seven.
Speaker 3 (28:07):
Well, something very big is happening for those of you aware.
I also do another morning show over on our sister
station Wood Radio, and this is our twenty first year
of doing the Turkey Drop for our dear friends at
Meltrotter Ministry. You can literally feel good about yourself with this.
All day today we are taking donations of frozen turkeys
(28:31):
so that every single family in West Michigan has a
holiday meal.
Speaker 4 (28:35):
Think about it.
Speaker 3 (28:36):
That's a big part of your holiday around the dinner
table with friends or family. And for so many families
in West Michigan. If not for Meltrotter and our turkey drop,
that just wouldn't happen.
Speaker 4 (28:48):
And so if you find it.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
In your heart to give, we are officially underway. There's
six locations Celebration Cinema North and South. You can stop
to the Meltrotter Ministries downtown location in Grand Rapids, their
thrift store in Jennison taking donations, as well as a
couple of new partners. A big thank you to Gateway
Mission Men's Center in Holland as well as the Muskegan
(29:11):
Rescue Missions Men's Shelter in Mischigan. It's really incredible seven
am to seven pm. And Chris Puluski is the president
and CEO of Meltrotter. He's only been on the job
a few weeks and already so blown away by how
giving West Michigan is.
Speaker 4 (29:27):
And says you can even turn this into maybe a
fun little challenge between friends or co workers.
Speaker 10 (29:32):
I love the idea of having you know something based
upon the Lion's wins or your change wins, but also
getting groups to come out. It's actually have a group
coming up right now dropping off some turkeys. It's again,
it's an activity. It's something that gets people involved to address,
you know, a challenge we have in our community in
a very physical way. So yeah, I would love to
encourage people to come out do it in groups, challenge
(29:55):
each other. It's fun. It's actually a buzz.
Speaker 4 (29:58):
It's a blast, and it's such a lessing.
Speaker 3 (30:00):
And I can tell you we just got an update
and we're just shy of a thousand turkeys. So if
you're listening right now and maybe you're buy one of
those areas, or you can put a little bug in
your boss's ear turkey drop dot org.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
You can also donate online, and we're.
Speaker 3 (30:17):
Hoping that this is our biggest year yet because the
need has truly never been bigger.
Speaker 1 (30:21):
I did like the idea of donating with the thought
of lions victories.
Speaker 4 (30:25):
Yeah, give for each lions.
Speaker 1 (30:27):
W that's good karma right there too. By the way,
all right, ch Betty, this is pretty wild. This past
Tuesday over in Detroit, thirty nine year old Micah Parker
got some reunited with the Detroit Medical Center, who had
recently helped save his life after he suffered a heart
attack on the job just back in September. But here's
the thing, it wasn't just that team. It was actually
(30:47):
one of his co workers who stepped up to deliver
CPR in an insane situation. His name is Alan Mameir,
and the two of them been working together for a
couple of years now, and they said it was just
to normal days. They were working for Bricklayers and Allied
craft Workers Union Local number two on a job back
on September thirteenth, and all of a sudden, they were
(31:09):
talking about the next Jame's job when things took a turn.
Speaker 7 (31:12):
Well, I'm just happy to be here, and we were
talking about the next job I was going to and
that's when it happened. And before I could even turn around,
he was already collapsed. He was a new guy to
the job.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
They asked me, how was he.
Speaker 7 (31:24):
I was like, yeah, he good.
Speaker 8 (31:25):
I think we should keep them, you know.
Speaker 7 (31:26):
And he was working on my side every day after that,
and he was a one wound up saving my life.
Speaker 2 (31:30):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (31:31):
They had been working side by side together for quite
some time. Also that ultimately Allen could be the one
to administer CPR and save Micah's life right on the
job site. And the crazy part about this is is
that the bricklayers and allied craft workers were required to
take CPR classes when they took the job, something that
(31:52):
at one point in time they thought was a complete
waste of their time.
Speaker 7 (31:55):
We're all a bunch of construction workers.
Speaker 5 (31:57):
They were like, we're the last thing we're going.
Speaker 7 (31:58):
To have to do is use you know, we might
get a cut or something, but CPR. Nah, we don't
need it, you know, I guess we need it now.
It's something like you're like, you know, at any moment
in time, it could happen. So it's nice to know that, Hey,
I'm capable of doing it.
Speaker 2 (32:11):
If I need to apply it, I can make a
happy That's right.
Speaker 1 (32:14):
He can make it happen, and that's what he did,
and it wound up saving his coworker and friends' life
right there on the job. So obviously they're all encouraging people.
If you get the opportunity to be trained in CPR.
We say it every time we share one of these stories.
Definitely do it because you never.
Speaker 4 (32:28):
Knowmerican Heart Association offers free.
Speaker 2 (32:30):
Classes Feeling Good coming at you. A couple of times today.
Speaker 1 (32:32):

there and it's all brought to you by our friends
at the Grand Rapids International Wine, Beer and Food Festival.
