Speaker 1 (00:00):

Welcome into your Wednesday. One week to go, guys, officially
one week till Christmas. I saw you out do it
all sorts of Christmas things. You guys get to go
hang with Santa at all. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
We went to Frederick Myer Gardens last night. Was our
absolute favorite place in the whole wide world. We've been
members since well was a baby, so we've gone and
seen Santa there every single year and it was so
incredibly cool, Like the Christmas trees are incredible, enlightened is incredible.
We had the greatest night last night.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
You dang, I can't get over there and check that out.

Speaker 4 (00:42):
It was really sure.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
How'd they do with Santa Claus? Where they stoked? Did
they get They get his good ear and say, hey,
you know, this is what I'm looking for this year
and the.

Speaker 4 (00:49):
Missus Claus got covered.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
They were fantastic and a big shout out to all
of the team members at the gardens. I have never
been to a like more smooth Santa ex experience in
the gardens. It's just so well done.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
That's saying something right there too, because there's Santa experience.
As every parent knows, those can be pure chaos sometimes.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
So it was so good.

Speaker 4 (01:08):
It was awesome.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
So get out there because there is a really really
nice spot. Especially if you have a family coming into town.
They're going to be blown away by what they're doing
in the gardens.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Let's you know pro tip right there, folks, if you
got people coming in or you just you know what happened,
brought the kids and see Siana Babe.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
Check out Frederick Meyer Gardens this year.

Speaker 5 (01:25):
For sure, movies, music and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
It's the celebrities scoop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Well, if you ever wondered what Kanye West sounds like
in court proceedings, it is as wild as you would anticipate.
A new video dropped, premiering a new show on A
and E called Interrogation Raw Celebrity Under Oath, which shows
Kanye and a piece of his deposition back from twenty twenty.

(01:55):
It's part of a tech lawsuit against Kanye, who was
accused of stealing technology to advance his Yeezy brand as
well as launch his Sunday service take a listen.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Okay, where are you currently giving the deposition from? Where
is that room?

Speaker 5 (02:09):
I don't tell you.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
You're never gonna see me again. And who is in
the room with you?

Speaker 4 (02:13):
If anyone?

Speaker 3 (02:14):
No one's in this actual room with me?

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Okay?

Speaker 6 (02:17):
And what other things do you have in the room
besides the phone that you've identified?

Speaker 3 (02:20):
Are you stupid?

Speaker 1 (02:22):
I'm not gonna tell you how the things I don't
have a time to be talking about will give me.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
I got a chair in the room I'm talking talking to.
You are talking to the richest black person in the
history of America.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Yeah, Like I said, about as wild as you would think.

Speaker 4 (02:39):
And that's just.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
A piece so interrogation raw. This show on A and
E is going to premiere the day after Christmas at
ten pm.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
If you'd like to hear more.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
First off, a great idea for a television show.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
I will be wiched.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
I'm super curious who the other people they've got under
oath is. But I could listen to Kanye rant about
random things in a room.

Speaker 4 (03:00):
Mat, I'll tell you that there's a chair in here.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
Wow, you know who you're talking to?

Speaker 4 (03:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Kristin Cavalari is recounting a terrifying moment she caught an
intruder inside her bedroom while she was sleeping alongside her
young son. The Reality start explaining the incident on the
latest episode of the Let's Be Honest podcast, saying this
nightmare moment occurred during the family's trip to the Bahamas

(03:31):
in twenty twenty, where they ended up having to stay
for a month because of those pandemic restrictions.

Speaker 4 (03:35):
This sounds so terrifying.

Speaker 7 (03:37):
I woke up to my bedroom door opening, and I
woke up to a man crawling on my bedroom floor.
And I'm so out of it because obviously I've just
woken up that I.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
Go, what the four are you doing?

Speaker 7 (03:49):
Like I said it like that, And this man stands
up and runs out the door, and you guys, he
had a ski mask on, full black arms, black pants,
like the the full thing, right, And then I went,
oh fuck, Like that was not Jay or that was
not like, I don't know who that was. But because
Camden was in bed with me, I didn't yell. I

(04:11):
didn't scream. You actually, you think in those moments that
that's what you would do, but your instincts just kick in.
I honestly felt like I was in mission impossible.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Yeah, She said that she had a mission of figuring
out a if the rest of the house was safe.
She said she went upstairs, Jay was actually with their
other two sons, when the reality of the situation really
hit her. They ended up calling police. They had to
search the house. She ended the story by saying she's
actually not going to tell their kids until they're adults.

(04:42):
She felt like this would so deeply impact them to
know someone broke into their home while they were sleeping.
It was just feet away from her children.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
Well, and thank goodness that the person just scared off
by the what a sound I'm assuming they had to
know was gonna come. You broke in while someone was home,
you obviously knew someone was in the room, or else
you would have been crawling around on the floor.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
I mean, that's ask Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Finally, Mariah Carey did some audience work during her concert
at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn last night to a
super excited.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
Rihanna, who was in the crowd.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Uh yeah, Rihanna turns out huge Mariah fan, as is
the rest of us.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
But here's where it got a little strange.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Instead of a regular autograph, the Queen of Christmas put
her signature on Rihanna's tatas. In a video share it
to x, you can see her leaving her John Hancock
in a very crowd spot as Rihanna takes the microphone
and yells to the crowd, Mariah Carey is signing my bleeps, y'all,

(05:49):
this bleep is bleeping' epic, and then shared a bunch
of photos of the signature.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
That's the Rihanna I remember.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Still a good sign She's not a regular mom, She's
a cool mom. Got the video up for you with
your scoop at West Michigan Star dot com.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
Sometimes does that get a good feeling? All right, let's
get you feeling good.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
Maca Schmidti here on Starvino five points seven and Schmidty
this may be a hot take. I am pro species.
I think there should be more of them, and I
don't want to lose any of the ones that we
currently have. And frankly, when we can find old ones
and bring them back again, I'm in favor of that too.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
Dang it.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
And researchers have rediscovered this short nose cisco in Lake Superior.
Now this fish actually was thought to be extinct since
the nineteen eighties, so thirty forty years now, and it
was one native to the other Great Lakes like Michigan, Huron,
and Ontario. But this big multi year survey that was
done by the US Geological Survey, they found four distinct

(06:51):
Cisco species, including that short no Cisco in Lake Superior.
Just kind of highlights how Lake Superior is basically just
this last bastion of untouched fresh water, basically with an
incredible ecosystem that's healthier than all the other Great Lakes.
And this is pretty wild because you know, it was gone,
it's brought back and now hopefully they can continue to

(07:13):
get the populations to grow and bring this back into
the system. And you know what, if you're a fisherman,
you should care about that. Dave Corfino with the Michigan
d and I are telling Fox seventeen just why every.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
Fish species has a role people. They want to go
out and catch lake trout.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
They want to make sure lake trout have something.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
To eat, right, and lake trout are eating these different
Cisco species, So a rediscovered unextinct species they short no Cisco. SCHMIDDI,
your husband will be happy about that news. I feel
like up there doing a little fishing too.

Speaker 4 (07:40):
You're right, Yeah, all right.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
The sound of jingle bells ringing out. Yes, that would
be Garrett Vilee, one of Santa's special helpers, heading into
the Grand Haven YMCA, ready to do what he does best,
Santa business.

Speaker 4 (07:56):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
This is especially cool for Garrett, who has been doing
this for almost fifty years. The Navy vet makes about
twenty to twenty five appearances this time of year as
one of Santa's most important helpers. And check this out
the story and how he got started. He sat down
with Janis Allen at Fox seventeen saying it all went
down in nineteen seventy eight, a lieutenant who was going

(08:21):
to play Santa at the Christmas party for a Navy
ship fell through his attic when he went up to
get his Santa Claus outfit and hurt his back.

Speaker 4 (08:30):
He couldn't play Santa.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
I happened to be about the same size as him,
and they asked me if I'd be willing to step in.
I said yes and found my new calling. He said,
I mean, I've.

Speaker 4 (08:41):
Been doing service for years and this is probably some
of my most favorite service out there.

Speaker 6 (08:48):
Money can't buy what I get from the feeling I
get from the joy that it gives me. I probably
get more joy than the people do for me. When
you see a grandparent or a parent get teary eyed
because they see their kids are having a good time,
it means a lot, because I get to spread joyant happiness,
and that's what the season's all about.

Speaker 2 (09:07):
Almost fifty years as Santa Selper plans on doing it
as long as he can.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
I mean, that's what you want from a Santa Helper, right.
That guy gets Christmas.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
Oh, he's amazing. He puts a lot of time, thought
and energy into that. Beard too, got the story at
West Michigan Star Doc.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
Not the round of feeling good comes your way this
morning at Nine's funny here on Star.

Speaker 5 (09:26):
Movies, music and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
It's the celebrities goop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Well, I told you this three part Netflix doc over
the life of Aaron Rodgers was dropping, and.

Speaker 4 (09:40):
I started out hot. Lots of family drama to get here.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
Aaron starting out by saying there's such dysfunction and separation
in his family he felt he had to reaparent himself.
He says in the Netflix doc you give yourself what
you didn't get or wanted to hear more of when
you were a kid. I think for me, just I'm
proud of you would have been a very big deal
to my life.

Speaker 4 (10:04):
He said. I had to find a way to be my.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
Own parent in those moments, thinking to myself, Hey, screw
being perfect. I'm proud of who I am and what
I've accomplished. He also goes into some of the drama
that stemmed from his family, pointing out how estranged the
relationship was, adding I was never super duper close with
everybody in the family. In actuality, it goes back to

(10:28):
stuff from high school that made me feel distant, stuff
from college, stuff post college, and I was always really
quiet about it because I didn't.

Speaker 4 (10:36):
Want to air my dirty laundry.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
But he said, then they go on a BS show
and leave two empty chairs, of course, referring to his
younger brother Jordan appearing on The Bachelorette back in twenty sixteen,
where anytime there was a hometown visit, they would leave
a place setting for Aaron at the dinner table, highlighting
that he wasn't there and the family's relationship with stupor broken.

(11:00):
Aaron went on to say, they all really agreed that
was a good thing to do, to leave two empty
chairs on a stupid dating show that my brother just
went on to try and get famous. He had a
lot of nasty things to say about his fam who
has not yet commented on this Netflix series.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
You know what, now that I know that Aaron Rodgers
had to reparent himself, it makes it so much easier
to say, no matter what, I blame the parents in
this particular situation, I either blame his actual parents or
him being his whiny, whiny Aaron rodgersself.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
All right, Beyonce is unstoppable, standing alone on the diamond
and platinum throne of the music industry. According to the
Recording Industry Association of America, she is the most certified
titles for any female artist period. There is nobody else.

(11:52):
They made the announcement yesterday. Give it big credit to
Bay's latest Cowboy Carter for pushing her over the edge.
One hundred and three total certifications. The album is platinum.
It's lead single Texas Hold Them double Platinum, sixteen carriages Gold.
Not to mention her other Smashes, Halo single, Ladies, I
Am Sasha of Fierce her self titled Lemonade album. So

(12:16):
many unbelievable records here. The fact that she just won
her first Billboard Country Music Award is confirmation Queen Bay
is best.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
I'm really interested, and not that it's a competition between
these two women, because they are both just unbelievable icons.
But I really am curious to see what it's all
said and done. Who has more accolades Grammy's Billboard Awards
all of the above, Taylor Swift or Beyonce.

Speaker 4 (12:42):
I think it's going to be Beyonce. She is so
far ahead of the game andship some of these.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
Next up, we have got the new Santa in Hollywood.
It's none other than Arnold Schwartzeneger. He was caught out
filming The Man with the Bag yesterday in New York.

Speaker 4 (13:00):
And man he looks super great for the part.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
You can see him in an ugly Christmas sweater before
dodging into his trailer to try and escape paparazzi, but
then caught again emerging from the tamp from his trailer
in a very red Santa jacket. He's teaming up with
Alan rich and Richson in the movie, which apparently centers
on Santa's magic bag getting swiped, forcing him to turn

(13:27):
to the Naughty List to figure out the top thief
to save Christmas. This is really exciting for people because
this is kind of his first holiday movie since Jingle
All the Way, which is a classic.

Speaker 3 (13:38):
It definitely is.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
And I gotta be honest, I did not see Arnold
Schwarzenegger looking that good as a Santa Claus.

Speaker 4 (13:44):
He looks up basic against the Santa Claus. He also
looks old. I'm so sorry, Ernold, it happens. You can
see a little piece of him in the Santa gear
with your scoop at West Michigan.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
Start good morning to you.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
It's Mack and Schmindey, hoping that the Salladay season of
course packed with awesome memories that you get to make
with those that you love me.

Speaker 3 (14:01):
And that sounds like what you got to do with you.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
I'm so excited thinking ahead. This is actually my Friday.
I'm super stoked. I've got some nice time off coming up.
And so we went and saw Santa last night at
the Frederick Meyer Gardens.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
Both my kids. It was such a cool experience.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
But when we were leaving the gardens, you know, the
kids asked my daughter wants a Teddy Bear family, and
then Will really wants the lego Hagrid's Hut. So they
had it all set exactly what to ask Santa.

Speaker 4 (14:29):
It was perfect.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
But then we were walking out and my kids asked
me all the time do you have to work tomorrow morning?
Like almost every single night when I put them to bed,
do you have to work tomorrow morning?

Speaker 4 (14:40):
Is tomorrow morning a workday?

Speaker 2 (14:41):
Because they are I'm sure really really bummed that their
entire your lives, I've never been home in the morning.
I mean, I have been working a morning show for
almost twenty years, so I've never I've never been the
parent at home in the morning. And they get really
really excited when I am. And so I was putting
Wheel to bed last night and he said, so you

(15:01):
work tomorrow morning? I said, I do. I said, but
it's my last morning for like a week and a half, buddy,
And then it's just I'm gonna be home. I could
take you to school, we can have breakfast together. And
oh my gosh, if that six and a half year
old did not look right at me and go, that's
so cool.

Speaker 4 (15:21):
That was my other Sannah.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
Wish And I'm kidding.

Speaker 2 (15:26):
Oh, I'm just so excited because honestly, we joke like
my my best Christmas gift is gonna be sleeping in
if I don't see three o'clock in the morning for
the next week and a half, my goodness, thank you lord.

Speaker 4 (15:38):
But it's truly like getting to.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
Hang out with them, Like he'll come home from school
and I won't be napping. I'll be able to stay
up and watch a movie with them. I'll be there,
like the morning is a big deal, like to sit
down at the table with them, or to.

Speaker 4 (15:52):
Take them to school.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
They're so excited, and it got me thinking, outside of
the gifts or the travel or you know, prepareing the
milk and cookies for Santa to come on Christmas Eve,
what are you.

Speaker 4 (16:03):
Most excited to do with your kids?

Speaker 2 (16:05):
And when I posted this on our Facebook, it's exactly
what I thought.

Speaker 4 (16:08):
We got such.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
Wonderful responses, lake Dev said, looking forward to two weeks
in all caps, soaking them in with movies, puzzles, games,
video games, and whatever else we decide because we're all together,
Heidi said, spending the morning with them they all work
and go to school, having them all home and awake

(16:30):
at the same time, it's going to be my Christmas treasure.
It's just so cool to think about that part of Christmas.

Speaker 1 (16:37):
I don't disagree with you, and maybe it's it's a
little dorky because you know, we're a radio station in
the place Christmas music. But something that I absolutely love
is listening to Christmas music on Christmas, even Christmas Morning
with my kids and just watching them get down.

Speaker 3 (16:50):
To Christmas songs because.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
Like, that feeling of energy of Christmas, even of Christmas
morning is just so dart.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
Every night at our house we do yeah, I mean
I've had burl lives going since like November.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
Second my kids.

Speaker 2 (17:03):
Are those, But just the act of being able to
be more present, yea, that is what I'm so excited about.
I'm gonna try to do less social media. I'm gonna
try to put my phone down more and just be like,
I only get so many years of this before we're
gonna be talking about you know, whose house are you

(17:23):
going to or are you making it home for college?

Speaker 4 (17:25):
Or do you have to work that night? And that
I'm so excited.

Speaker 2 (17:28):
It was just such a nice reset last night, and
I thought that'd be really fun to share to other
parents this morning.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
When you wake up tomorrow morning and you don't have
to be in early, and you wake up in the
morning and your kids are screaming, fighting and hitting each
other as they got to get out the door for school,
are you gonna be like, gosh, I love being here
for these moments that happens.

Speaker 4 (17:47):
I think they're really everything I hearly gets pretty smooth.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
Chris has done such a nice job of that. So
I'm just excited to like get myself together and do
the routine. I'm gonna roll the window down at school
and shout make good choices. I've always just wanted to
do that in front of all their friends.

Speaker 4 (18:03):
Oh yeah, that's my gift. I am stoked and ready.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
You know what, Embarrassing your child in wholesome ways like
that is a gift for a parent. That's true that
keeps on giving riceless Little points seven. It's Mack and
Schmide and ooh little Christmas movie. PSA.

Speaker 4 (18:18):
It's this week, so you've.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
Probably at least in previews for it. It came out in
theaters just about a month ago.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
Read one.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
Yeah, so this is Duayne the Rock Johnson, Chris Evans,
JK Simmons play Santa Lucy lou.

Speaker 4 (18:35):
Is in it.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
It's a stacked cast, and it turns out it was
originally supposed to be a straight to Amazon Prime movie,
so it actually started streaming last week for free.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
I watched it.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
So I watched it with my husband and our two children,
and I'll tell you.

Speaker 4 (18:53):
It's a good movie.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
I thought it was a really fun watch. There is
so much language and gratuitive violence. It is not appropriate
for children. And yet there were mine that watched the
whole thing.

Speaker 1 (19:07):
Belt to my nine year old son who thought it
was the greatest thing of all time, who kept on
side eyeing his mom during ye, Well, no, we didn't.

Speaker 2 (19:14):
Get the side eye. We just got a hey mom,
is blank a bad word?

Speaker 4 (19:18):
Mom? Is blank a bad word? Too? Hey mom? They
just said blank? Is that a bad word?

Speaker 2 (19:23):
And I'm looking over at Chris who's looking at me,
and he's like, well, we're already into it. The kids
aren't gonna want to turn it off. So I just said, listen,
don't repeat anything you say in this movie. Better yet,
don't tell a single soul we let you watch it.

Speaker 3 (19:37):
Confession, don't even worry about it.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
Schmitty, It's not like any kid is ever trying to
impersonate the rock before.

Speaker 5 (19:48):
Movies, music and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
It's the celebrities scoop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 4 (19:56):
Okay, I'll be very honest with you.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
I'm not really sure who is more excited about this news,
my kids or myself. Bluie is coming to the big screen.
This is major Walt Disney and BBC Studios making the
announcement yesterday. The smash hit series is getting its own
feature film, written and directed by Blue creator Joe Broom.

(20:22):
It will continue the adventures of Blue, the lovable, inexhaustible
Blue Healer dog who lives with Mom, Dad and little
sister Bingo. However, we will have to wait a decent
amount not expected hit theaters until twenty twenty seven.

Speaker 1 (20:38):
Well when they can maximize that dollar is going to
be brought in from everybody with nostalgia.

Speaker 4 (20:44):
All of my money. I am so excited about this.
This is a really cool moment.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
Jelly rolls son Noah making a very rare red carpet
appearance with Dad at the Sonic the Hedgehog three premiere
in LA last week night, and probably even cooler than
jelly Roll being your dad is getting to meet jelly
Roll's friends like Snoop Dog. And it turns out Noah

(21:11):
had a broken arm unfortunately. So what cooler person to
sign it than Snoop who also had a nice little
surprise coming from Fortnite?

Speaker 3 (21:19):
What I didn't sign? What you want it, I'm gonna
sign it. I'm gonna take a whole out of role.
I'm gonna be.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
Real grief stand by, stand by Fortnite Dog.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
Yes, I played Fortnite? Have you seen my skin?

Speaker 4 (21:38):
Do you you?

Speaker 3 (21:40):
Fini?

Speaker 1 (21:41):
You finna get the b bunch right away?

Speaker 3 (21:45):
The bucks in the skin coming right up.

Speaker 1 (21:46):
But all you're gonna make is that you and Marsh
Miller are the two coolest people I know.

Speaker 4 (21:52):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
Fifty thousand v bucks going to Noahs so you can
get Snoop's Fortnite skin. It was a really really cool video.
I've got up at West Michigan Star dot Com.

Speaker 1 (22:02):
I hope that when he was writing down the cast,
he was like sh n double o peace.

Speaker 4 (22:06):
Oh it's huge, it's the entire cast. He was not lying.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
Finally, a flame of flame taken over the White House,
making sure that the Sears White House Christmas party, The final,
of course, for the Biden family went out with a
big bang clock and all.

Speaker 4 (22:24):
He got to meet first Lady Doctor Biden. Hi, Doctor Biden,
good to see you again.

Speaker 3 (22:34):
Oh my god, this is such a fun Thank you.
Hey listen, could I tell you something? You got the
best house in the world.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
He even has a special presidential clock necklace. I was
curious as to what he would wear, looking very very
dapper in a white tux with the big old clock
under a bread boat eye. Not the only celeb, Keegan
Michael Key and Wilmore Belderama also attended the big Christmas party.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
I just hope he walked into the Oval office.

Speaker 4 (23:02):
Have to your flame all of your celeb scoop at
West Michigan Star.

Speaker 1 (23:06):
Dot com s Domino five point seven. It's that time.
Your Christmas quiz is on deck right now and your
chance tick it out your little scan, little snowboard and
have some fun with the fam when you go to
Shanny Creek.

Speaker 4 (23:18):
Yeah, it's one of our favorite spots.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
By the way, as a fan that skis really love
Shanny Creek. Give us today's number one answer name or
reason someone might regift a Christmas present.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
Because it was a candle, And that's what you do.
When somebody gives you a candle, you give it to
somebody else. Those are the rules.

Speaker 4 (23:34):
I like candles. I like those a lot.

Speaker 2 (23:36):
You give me a weird gift card, then I'm going
to regift it. Just go for like a regular online site.
You like gotten some very strange you like choices? Yeah, yeah,
it's you're you're really saying a lot getting me anything
to a kitchen store the room six one six, four
five eight one five seven. Give us the number one answer,

(23:58):
name or reason someone might regift a Christmas present, and
we'll send you. It's a Shanny Creek resort with star.

Speaker 3 (24:06):
Good morning Star. Who's this Olivia? Where are you calling
from today? Olivia? Okay, Olivia? How old are you? Eight
year old? Olivia? Does that make you a third grader?

Speaker 4 (24:19):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (24:20):
Third grader Olivia from Rockford? There, Olivia, what do you
want for Christmas this year? What are you asking? Santaford
an alexa so you can talk to it, play some games,
have it play some music for you when you want to.

Speaker 3 (24:33):
I like that idea. That's a good one.

Speaker 1 (24:35):
Well, let's hope to give you another Christmas gift right here,
I'd love to send you ski in or snowboarding at
the Shannon Creek Resort. You just got to give you
the top answer to today's Christmas quiz. All right, one
hundred adults, Olivia. We're asked to name a reason someone
might regift a Christmas present means they give it to
somebody else.

Speaker 3 (24:54):
What do you think their top answer was.

Speaker 4 (24:56):
Olivia, I think they did life.

Speaker 1 (25:00):
They didn't like it right off of the bat. Have
you gotten a gift you didn't really like before?

Speaker 3 (25:07):
Now?

Speaker 1 (25:07):
Good answer, especially with mom or dad right there and
Santa Claus always listening paying attention. I like you playing
the safer out there. You're definitely on the nice list.

Speaker 3 (25:16):
They don't like it. It's the top answer. Ware you go, Olivia.

Speaker 1 (25:19):
Yeah, you have got a couple of left tickets to
go have some fun, do some ski in this winner
at Shanty Creek Resort. Congratulations, you've never went skiing. Oh oh, well,
you are gonna love it. It's an absolute blast. You're
gonna have a whole lot of fun. And I hope,
I hope Santa Claus brings you that Alexa too. Okay,

(25:40):
Merry Christmas, Olivia, and we'll do it again. Tomorrow another
chance to win for Christmas quiz at eight fifteen here
on Star Wono five point seven. She's on a five
point seven Good morning to you. It's Mack and Schmidty
here one week till Christmas, and inevitably you are going
to appreciate I'm sure all the gifts that you get
this year that anybody is kind enough to give to you,

(26:01):
but that doesn't mean you're necessarily gonna like all of them.
Spindy and I thought this was really interesting because I
had never heard the term used in this way.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
I just mentioned it. RBF. You have heard of it.
You always say you have it. I don't feel like
you do. But at the same time, I had not
heard of resting gift fish.

Speaker 2 (26:18):
But gift I heard gift, and I thought that there
was some way you could hold up like an emoji
to mask how you felt about a certain Christmas present.

Speaker 4 (26:27):
Gift makes much more sense.

Speaker 3 (26:29):
You know what. That's what jen elf is doing in
the future.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
Yeah, they don't actually talk to you about the Christmas gift.
They just send you a certain character.

Speaker 3 (26:35):
Yeah, they hold up a meme or something.

Speaker 1 (26:37):
But now resting gift face is where you've masked the
emotions that you're truly feeling about the gift that you've
just received in order to spare the person's feelings who
gave you that nasty gift. And I think this is
hilarious because they did this big survey about it saying
that not only do more than half of Americans feel
like they've exercised it just in the last three years,

(26:58):
but almost sixty percent of people think that they have
it mastered okay that the other person can't.

Speaker 2 (27:03):
Tell never seen it done successfully. Agree with you, never
never seen it done successfully. And if you're someone who's like, yeah,
my rusting gift face is really good, you're actually the
worst because it's bad that you think it's good.

Speaker 1 (27:17):
So that that worries me because I felt like nobody
else ever pulls that over on me. I know, when
you like the gift or you don't like the gift,
I feel like but I feel like I've exercised it
flawlessly in the past. And maybe I'm wrong, but specifically
with my in laws, for multiple Christmases, they would just
get me the T shirt or the hoodie or the

(27:37):
sweatshirt of whatever bowl game Michigan was playing in that year.
But this was before Michigan was good. So it was
like the Gator Bowl three A roll, the Outbag Bowl,
and it's like, I don't care about these games happening
in Florida or someplace else that are meaningless.

Speaker 4 (27:54):
I hate a good hoodie though.

Speaker 1 (27:56):
No, you can when it's time sensitive because it's only
about a game. And then team got their butts whooped
in that game. So what you're walking around proud of
your loss that happened that year.

Speaker 2 (28:06):
I don't think I've ever had a family member of mine.
I don't think they even attempt to regift face. Like
one year I got my brother a Drone Racing League
shirt because for some reason I thought he watched that. Okay,
he did not, And he opened the gift and looked
right at me and goes, I don't understand this at all.
I don't even know what this is. Did you spend
money on this? Like my family, they're just very straightforward.

(28:27):
They're like, I would have preferred socks and underwear. Honestly,
I could have used that more.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
Have you seen it on your kids at all yet?
Because I know for a fact, I know for a
fact both of my kids, while they are super polite, Yeah,
but I know that they have received gifts that they're
not stoked about, and.

Speaker 3 (28:43):
It's the quick.

Speaker 1 (28:44):
It's that very quick, like thank you so much as
they place it down below the side of them, don't
pay it any more attention at all and immediately move on.

Speaker 4 (28:53):
I haven't seen it yet, but I've got a six
and a three year old.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
We're still in a magical age where they're just stoked
to unwrap something not seen that from them.

Speaker 1 (29:01):
Get ready for it, because I can tell you from experience,
there's nothing worse than when you think you've been clever
with your kids and got them something awesome and they
open it up that are.

Speaker 3 (29:09):
Like, oh, neat, thanks Sam.

Speaker 2 (29:12):
I'm excited to see my response because I think it
will be. Oh, and your other gift is this roof
over your head and a good education and your mother
working every day so that you can eat things and
be alive.

Speaker 4 (29:23):
Merry Christmas.

Speaker 1 (29:24):
What's your resting gift face gift that you receive? We
got to go it on Facebook and Instagram at West Michigan.

Speaker 3 (29:29):
Stuff sometime douse I get a good feeling.

Speaker 1 (29:37):
Just a week to go the countdown of Christmases on.
We're looking to get you feeling good as we head
into it. Right now, it's starting on fine point seven.
What's happening today's manne.

Speaker 2 (29:44):
Well Christmas has already begun at Helen Devaz Children's Hospital.
I have two super awesome things that have happened in
the last couple days.

Speaker 4 (29:51):
We'll start with a.

Speaker 2 (29:53):
Big shout out to Hopkins Public School.

Speaker 4 (29:58):
Such a fun video they just sh.

Speaker 2 (30:00):
Of all of their teachers, parents and students coming together
for an entire school bus load of toys dropped off
to child and Family Life at Helen Davas the other day,
special shout out to Sheila who sent me the incredible video.
That's followed up by none other than Doctor Fitzklaus himself,

(30:23):
President of Helen Devas Children's Hospital, donning the white beard
and holly jolly red suit to bring some extra cheer
to the hospital yesterday along with Buddy the Elf himself,
they took around gifts and candy canes to patients, families
and team members, even partnering up in the Blue Glass

(30:44):
Studios to play a very special holiday edition of Bengo
with of course Santaving what Yahanda screamed to win?

Speaker 4 (30:53):
It was so incredibly cool.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
The pictures are worth looking at West Michigan startup.

Speaker 3 (31:00):
That's awesome. We love doctor Fitzgerald out there big time.
All right, schmitty.

Speaker 1 (31:04):
You know, earlier this holiday season over on the East Side,
somebody dropped a rare gold coin into one of the
red kettles for the Salvation Army. It was worth almost
two thousand bucks. Really really cool. Well, this past Saturday,
it was actually a Salvation Army's nation Wide hour where
they are four hours excuse me, the National Commander's Red
Kettle Challenge, four hours to raise two million dollars across

(31:28):
the country for all those services and programs from the
Salvation Army. Look at this down in southern Indiana, somebody
dropped a gold nugget into one of the red kettles,
valued at almost fifty thousand dollars. And I mean, this thing, Schmitty,
looks like somebody just pulled it out of the ground.
I mean, it is, you know, porous, looks incredible. Apparently

(31:49):
weighs fifteen point five troy ounces. Apparently a troy ounce,
by the way, is even bigger than a regular ounce.
I don't know why, but it's because gold, I guess.
And they say that because it's in nugget form, that
this thing's going to go to auction and wind up
selling for even more money than fifty thousand dollars because
these giant gold nuggets are so rare like that. And

(32:11):
somebody anonymously just dropped it into one of the red kettles.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
And don't you wonder how they've been impacted by the
Salvation Army, because you know they have been.

Speaker 3 (32:18):
You have to be. I mean, but what, it's such
a cool thing.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
I'm gonna go a long way till that two million
dollar goal they had over the weekend. And of course,
as you see those guys and gals hanging and uh
waving those red kettles, waving the bells getting you to donate,
maybe stop and drop something in. I don't know if
it'll be like that, but still every little bit helps. Yes,
feeling good comes at you a couple times a day.
We'll do it again for you tomorrow, six forty five
and nine twenty here on Star Mack and Schmidty in

(32:41):
the morning weekdays starting at six am on Star one
oh five point seven
