Mac in Schmitty in the morning on Star one oh
five point seven, Good morning, Smitty.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
Good cold morning. Man oh man.
Speaker 4 (00:19):
If you are one of those up and at it already,
I gotta tell you, today's commute worse than yesterday.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
Pretty nasty out there, unfortunately.
Speaker 4 (00:27):
Yeah, we've got multiple accidents, we've got closures from overnight.
It's just been a really really tough one with these frigid, frigid.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Temps and not over yet, still snow coming down in
some areas and still some snow on and off expected
throughout the day as we've basically got these winter weather
advisories left and throughout the day today.
Speaker 4 (00:47):
Schmitty seven pm tonight for inland counties. But hey, one
am for the Lake shore, and you're looking anywhere from
another one to five, two to eight possibly, so we're
gonna stick with Storm Team eight. It's weird to say
that tomorrow we're gonna see quite a warm up.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
With a heigh year twenty. So that's where we are at.
Speaker 4 (01:08):
And man, every single kid in West Michigan is off
school today.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
I don't think I've ever seen that headline before. Is
that a long time?
Speaker 2 (01:16):
It's It's definitely happened, obviously, but I don't think i've
ever seen the headline. Every school district in West Michigan
decides to take every.
Speaker 4 (01:23):
School district has a snow day to day. And I
think a lot of you probably learned that last night.
It's just so dang cold outside.
Speaker 5 (01:31):
Movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 3 (01:34):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 4 (01:38):
Well American idol alum Carrie Underwood being praised this morning
after continuing on with her Inauguration day performance yesterday. Despite
a serious technical glitch. She had to go full acapella
in a very awkward moment. You can see her ready waiting, waiting,
(02:00):
still waiting. A couple of minutes go by before someone
clearly says, we have no music for you. So here
she goes.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
You know the words help me out here, ohbiful for
spacecious guys for and.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
Boo wave up. It was really really good.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
Of course, she spoke more about that spirit of unity
as part of her performance yesterday.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Really good thing you went with an American idol who
can definitely sing on demand like that.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
I mean wise choice.
Speaker 4 (02:35):
Travis Scott the Rapper giving back to La and communities
impacted by the wildfires, pledging big donations from his new song. So,
if you watched the College Football Playoff National Championship last night,
during halftime, you saw Travis in a pretty sweet performance
on top of Mercedes Benz Stadium, joined by the more
(02:58):
House marching band.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
It's a pretty sweet moment.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
So they could book yet the buck Man the brass
on that fan was so good. That was him debuting
his brand new single four by four, before then telling
fans one hundred percent of the net proceeds from sales
(03:24):
will go to direct relief and the California Wildfire Response
Fund that includes merch that he is also releasing as
part of this new song.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
That's a cool move because that guy's following this absolutely massive, huge.
Speaker 4 (03:37):
Finally, this is unfortunate news. The Black Eyed Peas have
canceled their Vegas residency. And this is very odd because
they're simply saying due to current circumstances. So they made
an announcement on Instagram to fans, writing to our dearest peabodies,
it is with a heavy heart that in light of
current circumstances, our Las Vegas shows will not be moving
(04:01):
forward as planned. Ticket providers will issue full refunds automatically.
Stay tuned for updates on future performances by.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Following us we can't wait to see you again.
Speaker 4 (04:11):
I'm not sure if this has something to do with
the LA wildfires taboo. For instance, at one point owned
a home in Alta, Dina where that eaton fire broke out.
So no other word, but none of that Vegas residency
is moving forward.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
Was Fergie going to be a part of those?
Speaker 4 (04:29):
I think she was planning to at least be part
of most of them, if not all of them. I
know she was out visiting different areas. But other than that,
no info on why they've suddenly said not happening. All
of your celeb scoop at West Michigan Star dot Com.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
Sometimes does that get a good deal? Now?
Speaker 2 (04:50):
It goes with that saying we are dealing with some
desperately cold temperatures out there right now, so be safe,
all right, We're here to get you feeling good right
now and starting a five points seven. It's Mack and
Schmidti and being safe. That's what this one's all about.
Because when West michiganers need some help. They can count
on their community members to step off more often than not,
and that's definitely true. With these windshields nearing negative twenty
(05:11):
five degrees at times through tomorrow morning, super important to
stay inside and especially out of your car in the
coming days. And of course we've got a homeless population
throughout West Michigan that needs help in times like this.
And that's when the general manager of Beymont and In
Sweets there in Grand Haven, his name is Eric Scott,
he decided he would poast on Facebook on the Grand
(05:32):
Haven Better in Form page that the hotel partnering with
the Grand Haven Police Department and love in Action to
do a cold initiative with them raising money to help
the homeless population in this terrible arctic blast. And the
community has really stepped up. As of last night, more
than three thousand dollars was donated, with more than twenty
(05:52):
rooms being given out for two nights through Wednesday. Since
these temperatures are going to stay this cold, are there
a hotel charge in a rate under fifty five bucks
tax included. And people have been donating directly to Scott's
venmo or just calling and using their credit card to
do it over the phone, but again, more than twenty
rooms and over three thousand dollars. I will share his
(06:14):
post on our Facebook at West Michigan Star. But again
it's the beamont inn In Suites in Grand Haven stepping up.
So thank you guys.
Speaker 4 (06:21):
Well, moms always know how to help, and if your
kid has ever lost their stuffy, you know and you
go to the ends of the earth to try and
find that treasure. Well, for so many kids affected by
the LA wildfires, they've lost all of their stuffies. That's
when Randy Jaffe and her sister in law, Jenny, came
up with the idea for the LA Lost Stuffy Project.
(06:44):
Randy is a childlife specialist and knows how important this is.
Their aim to replace beloved items like stuffed animals, toys,
and blankets for kids who have been displaced by those fires.
They were on Good Morning America yesterday.
Speaker 6 (06:58):
To be able to kind of return this personal specific
item that has been so brutally lost is such a
powerful gift, and that's what we're so excited to be doing.
We know that comfort items are key with young kids
all the way up through young adults. When families are
just laces, you're experiencing trauma. Obviously, there's no control at all.
(07:22):
This is such a small way to give kids back
their control. The entire world is behind them and thinking
of them and praying for them and offering support in
small ways and big ways, and that something that we
really need to lean into right now.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
It's such a great idea.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
They've already helped countless families, one family in particular, sending
them a message that said, we are so grateful for
you guys. The joy on my son's face helped us
feel a little bit.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
Of light during this dark time.
Speaker 4 (07:49):
They are taking donations to help as many families as
they can.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
I've got the video on our Instagram at West.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
Michigan Star Feeling good, Kevin ask you a couple of
times a day to brighten your spirits.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
Do it again this morning.
Speaker 5 (07:59):
At nine to one, sho movies, music and all the
gossip in one place.
Speaker 3 (08:04):
It's the celebrities goop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
Well, this tended to be nothing short of terrifying for
singer DUA leap of fans sneaking into her hotel and
waiting outside her bedroom door. This report just out Du
has been staying at a five star Ritz Carlton Hotel
in Chile after flying to South America to film a
commercial while selfie hunters were apparently found on her hotel
(08:33):
floor as well as right outside her bedroom door, some
waiting for.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
Her at the elevator.
Speaker 4 (08:38):
According to a source, things were absolutely manic as do
a touchdown with fans desperate to see her. Somehow a
group of fans gained access not only to her hotel floor,
but some were found outside her room. Security ended up
having to do an extra sweep to make sure there
were no more fans hiding anywhere.
Speaker 5 (08:59):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (09:00):
Oh, This story from the Sun says do it was
so nervous that she is now considering big changes not
just to security, but to how she handles the rest
of her tour. In March, she is kicking off the
second leg of this massive stadium tour for that album
Radical Optimism.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
You know, I know, I'm asking why are crazy people crazy? Basically?
But why if you are a mega fan of somebody,
do you think they're gonna be happy to see you
if you're literally hiding to get around their security? Do
you think she's gonna be like, Oh, great job hiding,
let's be.
Speaker 1 (09:34):
Absession clouds your judgment.
Speaker 4 (09:36):
I mean, really, Robbie Williams, you know, the UK's big singer.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
You'll recognize this. We got.
Speaker 4 (09:53):
She's that huge millennium hit well, not huge enough for
Taylor Swift to know who you are. The miss singer
actually joined Hits one in a new interview talking about
how he joined Taylor on stage back in June of
twenty eighteen when she was in the UK on tour,
and says, as soon as I popped up, I knew
(10:15):
she had absolutely no clue who Robbie Williams was.
Speaker 7 (10:20):
Taylor. I think knew the concept of a Robbie Williams
somewhere in the world, but I don't think knew anything
about me. And I think maybe whoever she was dating
at the time was English and when ay, maybe you
should get Robie Williams. I think this is how it went.
But like when I came up through the stage and
the audience erupted, you could just see this thing in
(10:40):
a face go a yeah, and I'm like, yeah, yeah,
I'm the mayor of this here.
Speaker 4 (10:47):
You have to think Joe Allwen was a huge Robbie
fan and Taylor's like, sure, I mean, the guy is
a massive legend over there, though.
Speaker 2 (10:55):
I was gonna say, it feels very much like his
role here in the US.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
Nobody here knows who Robbie Williams is. Millennium was huge
in two thousand. I know some Robbie.
Speaker 3 (11:06):
All right.
Speaker 4 (11:07):
Finally, how awkward is this kid Rock during an interview
for President Donald Trump's inauguration yesterday, trying to make a
pass at a BBC News reporter Catriona Perry was in
the middle of interviewing him. Now, they did not They
couldn't see screen to screen. Okay, you could only hear her.
(11:28):
That's important when you listen to how uncomfortable this exchange was.
Speaker 8 (11:32):
We'll be on air for eleven or twelve hours, so
I don't think I'll have it anywhere nearest one day
as you have planned for yourself there. That sounds like
you got the better deal here. Indeed.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
I mean I can't see you right now, so I
don't know what you look like.
Speaker 8 (11:46):
Well, I look like I'm ready to hit the slopes.
I can tell you. I'm in full on ski gear here,
with my hash gloves, the whole thing.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
I love to go skiing. I love to go skiing.
You sound sexy.
Speaker 7 (11:57):
You want to go with me.
Speaker 8 (12:00):
Well, well, we won't get into that right here. So
we're doing no skiing today. We've got a day of
broadcasting to do.
Speaker 7 (12:10):
Shit.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
Oh, the full video is too good. On with your
scoop at West Michigan Star dot com.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
Our kids getting a four day weekend after MLKJ yesterday.
Every school district in West Michigan closed today.
Speaker 4 (12:26):
Yeah, and you know, I was actually surprised quite a
few schools did not have it off yesterday for MLK Day.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
It was because of the weather.
Speaker 4 (12:32):
So if you are like my family, you've been inside
with your kids for like thirty six hours, but who's
counting Because it's just so cold outside, it's hard for
them to be out in that for any period of time.
Speaker 1 (12:46):
And I would say probably. And I worked yesterday, so I.
Speaker 4 (12:49):
Had like a morning off from figuring out how to
keep them entertained. But truly, by like three point thirty pm,
my kids were just a little cabin fever. I twitch
going at each other. And you got another full day
of that today. So I was trying to come up
with some great ideas for different things to do with
the kids inside, because I did. We booted my kids
(13:13):
out yesterday we got about twelve minutes outside, they did
two sled runs, and then we came back in and
we had a really good time. So my parents every
year do like themed Christmas gifts, and this year for
the kids, it was throwback games. So we played Don't
Break the Ice, we played Operation, we played Connect for
(13:34):
just stuff that I felt like maybe was keeping their
brains somewhat engaged. Then that went okay, except that, because
it's my kids, the second time we opened Don't Break
the Ice, half of the pieces were missing, so we
had to use chopsticks instead of hammers, and they got
real bored with that.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
And then Operation.
Speaker 4 (13:54):
I'm not sure if they revamped the game, but that
is super hard now, really really hard.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
Easier when your fingers were much time my good like.
Speaker 4 (14:02):
The Tweezers don't even fit all the pieces anymore. So
then my kids were just getting really annoyed because every
time they were trying to like fish the bucket of
water out of the knee, the thing was vibrating and
the nose was lighting up, and Will's.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
Like, I don't want to play it anymore. Sorry, kids,
I guess you're not doctors. So this pretty rough stuff.
Speaker 4 (14:20):
And I posted to our Facebook with some good ideas, Tony,
did you know Legos?
Speaker 1 (14:25):
That was massive?
Speaker 4 (14:25):
That was a game changer. Yesterday morning for us. Will
did like three Harry Potter sets for like two hours.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
It was awesome.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
Do you have any of those three and one Lego
kits where it changes into three different cool like designs
or shit?
Speaker 1 (14:38):
Probably he's got a bunch of.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
The kause when my son finishes one, I'm like, now
you can do the other one.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
I want to see what the other. Yeah, like there's
another hour.
Speaker 4 (14:46):
Will just takes them apart, puts them all in a
bind and build something completely different without directions. Like I'm
just praying he's gonna be an engineer. But Sophia, on
the other way, three years old is hard.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
So we did.
Speaker 4 (14:58):
We did a Teddy Bear picnic that was a really
great one. I saw on a list. She loved that.
That took care of about twenty six minutes. And it's
that point right where you're counting down what to do
with your kids. And I love these guys at gr Kids.
They do such a great job. And I found an
awesome list of two hundred things to do to prevent boredom.
Speaker 1 (15:16):
Oh wow.
Speaker 4 (15:17):
We tried this yesterday. You put some tape on a
doorway and throw ping pong balls to see what sticks.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
We had a great.
Speaker 4 (15:23):
Time with that because I'm still in college, so obviously
I have ping pong balls in my junk drawer for
some reason. Absolutely, you can set up your own bowling
alley and use plastic bottles or paper towel rolls, a
mesh strainer and then put water safe toys in the
sink or the bathtub and go fishing. You can make
a necklace with like pasta noodles and things you might
(15:46):
have in the pantry. Casting You can put spaghetti noodles
in play dough. See how many cheerios you can stick.
There's so many.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
Things that come out of your pantry.
Speaker 4 (15:59):
And I'm telling you, if you are a parent, going, yes,
this sounds like so much work, But if you're also
into second day of figuring out how to keep your
kids engaged, it's going to be very very helpful.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
I promise.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
Day number one, I'm all about figuring out those cool
things to do with the kids and keeping them entertained.
Day number two, I'm like, all right, I'm just changing
the amount of screen time that you guys, can get
under devla.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
Did that work?
Speaker 4 (16:21):
Mine got bored yesterday? They were done with tablets. They
were done with Nintendo Switch, Like, guess what I'm talking about.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
Even kids get bored with screen time.
Speaker 4 (16:28):
So I'm gonna put this list up because it's a really,
really great one. They've got an awesome scavenger hunt idea
and hiding the PJS and playing hot or cold. You guys,
you might be able to get like forty eight.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
Minutes out of that. All right, West Michigan Star dot com.
Speaker 4 (16:44):
Unless you've got a super great hack on something you've
done with your kids. Everybody's stuck inside and it worked
out so well. Four five eight, one oh five seven,
give us a call.
Speaker 2 (16:54):
He so salty, Yes she is, but deservedly so. I
feel like on days like this is Mack and Spindy
here on stuff, I want to five points seven.
Speaker 1 (17:01):
Where's your rant falling today?
Speaker 4 (17:03):
I mean the traffic when road conditions are bad. It
was so insane to drive home from the show yesterday.
I was hit almost three times by the same make
a vehicle, which is a truck that thinks they can
go so much faster than everyone else. Yeah, three fishtails,
(17:25):
two of them centimeters.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
Wait a second, from the back of my call, but
they have four wheel drive.
Speaker 4 (17:31):
Here's what I was gonna say, the winter weather advisory.
I am officially renaming two trucks and minivans with bald tires.
Speaker 1 (17:43):
You can't go that fast? Agree, Agree? Hardcore? Really so, Salky, I'm.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
Just hoping that you just did everyone a favor right there,
And there's a few trucks out there pumping the brakes
right about nash Miny.
Speaker 5 (17:59):
Smoothies, music and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
It's the celebrities Goop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 4 (18:07):
This is a very interesting turn of events and some
breaking dirty as it looks like Justin Bieber has unfollowed
his wife Haley on Instagram. Fans have been popping into
the comments section following some interestingly cryptic posts from the singer.
So we'll start with a story and he puts it
(18:28):
up saying you've got to get up, just stand up,
get up. I'm trying to get up with three crying emojis.
It shows a man on the floor while another man
is punching him and someone in the background is like
egging it on the caption red when life is beating you,
and your guide says, just keep going. Fans quickly noticing this,
(18:49):
and remember it was just last week that he went
on a huge unfollowing spree, including unfollowing Haley's dad Steven.
He unfollowed Scooter Braun and Alison Kay, both of his
ex managers. Even on following his mentor usher. I just checked.
He is still not following Haley now. A source talking
to Life and Style says the singer has a tendency
(19:11):
to cut people from his life, which can feel really isolating,
and they added justin feels some prioritized his career over
his personal happiness, and we're not very supportive of life.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
I mean, that's some serious I don't know what's gonna
happen here, but the part that actually worries me as
much as a marriage falling apart would be atrocious, it's
all those other people in his life too. It's almost
feels like he's kind of secluded himself there and that's
never good.
Speaker 4 (19:38):
And all we've heard is that he's working on this
new music, got all these bills to pay, so hoping
he's doing okay. Some major bombshells in a new Vanity
Fair article centered on Prince Harry and Meghan Markel and
it is none too kind. First, we hear that Meghan's
podcast staff actually needed therapy, with sources talking to the
(20:02):
publication saying long term therapy was needed for some anyone
who worked on her old podcast Archetypes. A source says
she was constantly playing checkers, not even gonna say chess.
She's just very aware of where everybody is on her board,
and when you're not in, you are thrown to the
wolves at any given moment. They also said Harry Meghan
(20:23):
made employees sign NDAs, which sounds fairly normal, except a
lot of her coworkers were a little turned off by this,
given how often Meghan talks about the importance of using
one's own voice. Vanity Fair also saying Prince Harry was
never big on the Spotify deal and he did not
actually understand the impact of writing that book Spare and
(20:47):
how much damage that would do to his family. They
are saying that he does not want to be famous
the same way that Megan does. But these sources in
Coworkers in four Workers are also saying the pair are
still very deeply in love. All of these rumors about
a divorce are just not true Worth pointing out one
(21:09):
of their big celebrity neighbors, Sharon Stone, is coming to
their defense, saying they're wonderful, They're a huge part of
the community. Meanwhile, the couple spokesperson has declined to comment
on this new article.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
I'm just curious on your take, Smandy. Do you feel
like Prince Terry is like the world's most famous Instagram boyfriend?
Speaker 1 (21:27):
Is that what his life is?
Speaker 2 (21:29):
Essentially like his wife just drags him into things character
taking instagrams.
Speaker 4 (21:33):
Finally, let's talk about everybody talking about Laurence Sanchez's outfit
to the inauguration yesterday. The fiance of Amazon founder Jeff
Bezos is facing criticism for wearing what looked like a
lacey bra under a suit coat. While some called it
(21:54):
a fashion statement, most felt it was seriously inappropriate for
the occasion. It was causey quite a stir and in fact,
a picture has since gone viral of Meta's Mark Zuckerberg
getting caught taken a little peek at the girls. Uh yeah,
it's pretty wild stuff. There's been no word from her,
but one user writing someone should have told her. Having
(22:16):
a white lace braught out on display at an inauguration
is just downright unacceptable.
Speaker 2 (22:21):
I think she knew what she was doing, and you know,
I think Zuckerberg put a nice little like check mark
thanks to that and.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
Well to say, you guys, I would have been grounded
had I left the house wearing this for any such occasion.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
All of your celeb scoop at West Michigan.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
Star dot Com stelling a five points shavin It's back
and Schmannie look at to get you in to see
trucks with tires that are bigger than you are.
Speaker 4 (22:41):
Smitty, I mean, this is the snow tire we all
dream of, isn't it? Monster Jam back at van Andel
March seventh to the ninth. You want to get hooked up?
We need today's number one answer. It's battle of this sexes.
One hundred women surveyed. What's the most popular car color?
Speaker 2 (22:58):
Ooh, what's most popular car? I mean, it's got to
be one of three colors. I feel like SHMIDDI. But
my question to you is, would you ever buy a
yellow car? I'm always amazed when people buy like bright,
odd colored cars.
Speaker 4 (23:09):
I can't really tell the color of cars today because
people really hate clearing their cars off, which is like
so safe six, one six, four, five eight, one oh
five seven, all right, collor seven? You give us today's
number one answer. One hundred women surveyed what's the most
popular car color? And you'll see a rainbow of colors
at Monster Jim when you're a vanandle with star Win
(23:30):
oh five point.
Speaker 1 (23:31):
Seven, Good morning Star. Who's this? Papa? You said? Tasha? Yeah, Tasha?
Where are you coming from today?
Speaker 9 (23:38):
Bordage, Michigan?
Speaker 1 (23:40):
All right, Tasha, gott tell me.
Speaker 2 (23:41):
One hundred women were asked what is the most popular
color of a car?
Speaker 1 (23:47):
What's the most popular?
Speaker 6 (23:48):
Now?
Speaker 2 (23:48):
It's not necessarily the correct answer, it's what you feel like.
One hundred women sends their top answer, what do you
think it is? White?
Speaker 1 (23:55):
You're going white? Honestly?
Speaker 2 (23:58):
So, I drive a white vehicle, and I don't know
why any of us do, because second road conditions are
like this, you're driving a brown vehicle anyway, But white's.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
The time answer. Yeah, it was white, followed by.
Speaker 2 (24:12):
Black, I know you're shocked, and then red, rounding out
those top three answers. There Red, I'll get you tickets,
Black hides the dirts, and white looks nice when it's new.
But like I said, covered in nasty yellow, nasty brown,
dirty snow today. So congratulations, though you're gonna see some
trucks covered in serious mud because you're going to Monster
(24:33):
Jam with the crew.
Speaker 1 (24:34):
Congrats, Sasha, awesome, thank you.
Speaker 2 (24:37):
Yeah. Monster Jam rolling into Van Andelo Arena March seventh
through ninth, and more tickets tomorrow eight fifteen.
Speaker 1 (24:43):
Here on start with a five point seven good morning
to you.
Speaker 2 (24:48):
It's back and spinning, hoping that you had a nice
long holiday weekend if you had yesterday off there like
a lot of people did, spitty, but I got to
go back to Saturday. Of course, we're all getting ready
to watch the Lions game, and the food was paramounts.
And my buddy actually canceled he got the flu like
everybody else had, so I actually was solo parenting and
wound up doing a laid over and a sleepover for
(25:10):
my kids friends and then honestly, they were so stoked
about it. I was the cool dad, But for me,
it was like, good, they're the distractions, so I can
actually watch the game.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
But I picked up all this food.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
I got pizza and stuff like that for the kids,
and some snacks, and one of those things is I
was walking out. I was at DNW and I saw
this buffalo chicken macaroni and cheese, and it was one
of those like taking baked ones that they have of
the deli section.
Speaker 1 (25:34):
Looks so good. I'm like all over this.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
So I go to check out and I realized there's
no label on it whatsoever. Doesn't have any words written
on this thing. It's one of those ones that you
should see a deli sticker on. So the guy actually
takes it back over there. They print a sticker and
put it on there. But I'm already in the checkout.
I've checked out stuff. I go home, we cook everything,
and I'm eating it, and I'm like, this is delicious
(25:56):
macaroni and cheese. But this chicken. Oh, I don't know
if they just stuck frozen chicken in here or what,
but it's it's like dry and stringy. I'm like, well,
I don't think so kids tried it. Put it down
in middle.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
He said. Now the chicken's kind of nasty. That's so weird.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
The next day, Michelle comes home from her the weekend
in Detroit SCHMITTI and I go, hey, if you have
some of that buffalo chicken macaroni and cheese. The chicken's nasty.
The rest of it's delicious, though, and so she's like,
now you can have it. I eat it, schmitty, and
I fork through it. I was eating fried buffalo colliflour
macaroni and cheese that looked just like because they're fried,
(26:34):
they just got bread eating around him. I thought the
whole time that I was eating nasty, disgusting chicken, and
it turns out I was just eating nasty, disgusting colliflour.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
You have never eaten calliflour in your life. I had
what a very different day. I agree with you, But
when I was eating it, I had no clue him like,
this chicken's gone bad. I don't know what they did.
Speaker 4 (26:53):
Let me tell you about tailgating cardies and what I
don't do. Reach into a bowl of chips. I don't
know anything about to anyone of you animals that tries
to pass salt vinegar chips off as regular ruffles solicious,
you are absolute animals, all right. I just think about
salt and vinegar chips and my stomach's like, we can
go the rest of the day without eating, can't stand it?
Speaker 1 (27:13):
Well?
Speaker 2 (27:13):
Speaking of vinegar, then, how did you see on our
Facebook we have this question up and Sally said, when
I was little, I drank some apple cider. My mom
didn't say a word, She just watched me while I
continued to drink apple cider vinegar right there at the
table every.
Speaker 4 (27:27):
Day for my Ideal You program. Oh you're a great
way to lose weight.
Speaker 2 (27:32):
Adam coworkers sweetbreads not sweet not bread. Turns out that
means pancreas. Yeah, no body parts.
Speaker 4 (27:39):
Beth takes it creamed. Harring told it was chipped dip.
Speaker 1 (27:42):
Beth. Those friends do not need to be in your
life anymore.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
Well, technically it wasn't a lie. You can weigh into
tell us what you ate thinking it was one thing
when it was really something completely different. At West Michigan.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
Star some dame.
Speaker 3 (27:58):
Because I get a good fee, I'm.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
Putting that positive spin on everything going on. I'm feeling
good right now and Stowe on five point seven and
Smackage Manning.
Speaker 4 (28:07):
I know it can hurt to bring up the Detroit Lions.
That big loss to Washington still stings, But what I
think is so important to point out is how much
good those Lions players have done and continue to do
in the community. This video just released of Lions I'm
and Ross Saint Brown visiting the Nick You at the
Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He met with nurses and
(28:31):
doctors and got an understanding of the littlest fighters, even
getting to meet one of his smallest fans. It's like
the size of the football just a little longer.
Speaker 1 (28:40):
Are you ready to hold a baby? Sorry, won't like
to fumble her.
Speaker 4 (28:45):
Here we go.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
A'm and Ross Saint Brown whoever that is?
Speaker 8 (28:48):
And Sam Laporta.
Speaker 6 (28:50):
They caught two thirds of the team's thirty touchdowns last year.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
Listening we fight. We have built the.
Speaker 4 (29:01):
One two three. Isn't that sweet? You're a fighter, you
were built for this. Nothing can stop you. It's very
very cool stuff.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
Despite how it ended many this is my favorite Lions
team of all times.
Speaker 1 (29:13):
I think most people would say that, yeah, without a doubt.
So cool, all right, this is really cool.
Speaker 2 (29:17):
Two Michigan women have a bit in common that they
had no idea about. Sandy Johnson of Romulus, Michigan. She
was contacted by a World War Two veteran down in
Florida who had several of what she believed to be
her grandfather's war medals. From World War Two, and he
mailed them to her, and he checked him out, and
(29:37):
she looked at some of them, including some of the
newspaper clippings that were along with them, and she told
w x y Z in Detroit that while she thought
they were her grandfathers at first, there was something about
it that just she knew was off.
Speaker 9 (29:50):
When I got this call, it seemed to me like
a blind up, both Anthony's being married to a marry
of them both living in wind out Age's same timeframe,
it just didn't line up. Because my grandfather, I think,
died in nineteen forty six.
Speaker 1 (30:08):
This man was in D Day.
Speaker 9 (30:10):
So I immediately knew I have to find the right
family because I felt like this, this was meaningful, It
was a sacrifice.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
How crazy is that that there were two Anthony Schusters,
same age, same town, and so easily confused, of course,
but once she realized the error, she got online did
what you know people do now, head to social media
and see if you can figure it out. And it
was amazing because there were still relatives that lived in
the Detroit, in the Detroit area of Anthony M. Shuster,
(30:43):
no relation to Anthony Schuster who just happened to live
in the same area, and his great niece, heaven Shuster,
just blown away by the fact that now they have
these fairly heirlooms that are so meaningful that they didn't
even know existed.
Speaker 9 (30:58):
I am amazed at a place where we are right
now in this world, that there's still somebody willing to
go the extra mile for.
Speaker 2 (31:07):
Somebody else, and now that hero's legacy gets to live
on all because somebody went and took the extra effort
to make sure they wound up where.
Speaker 1 (31:13):
They were supposed to be.
Speaker 2 (31:14):
Very sweet love that feeling good comes at you a
couple times a day. I always want to point out
the positivity. We do it again tomorrow six forty five
and nine twenty here on Star
Speaker 3 (31:22):
Mack and Schmidty in the morning weekdays starting at six
am on Star one oh five point seven
