Speaker 1 (00:00):
Star one oh five point seven Wake. It gets my
day going and makes me laugh.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
All of it.

Speaker 3 (00:10):
Mac and Schmitty in the morning on Star one oh
five point seven, I'll good mornings, Minty.

Speaker 4 (00:15):
Hey, good morning. I had kind of a funny moment
this morning on my drive in because once again those
those roads are are pretty rough great, and I saw
a car off into a ditch. It had probably happened
last Night's had been sitting there overnight. And it's just
as I'm getting on the entrance ram to one point
thirty one and I'm listening to my nineties curated list

(00:36):
on our iHeartRadio app, and all of a sudden, y'all
ready for this starts coming? And it just fits so
perfect for this morning, you guys, because are we ready
for yet another day? I felt so confident, And I
just got a call five minutes ago that Rockford canceled.
So the school closings are unfortunately once again rolling in
this morning because I think a lot of places got

(00:58):
snow so late starting overnight last night that it's created
rough conditions for bussing, and you just want to keep
an eye out. I'm waiting to see if my daughter's
going to go but my son's going to be so bumped.
He went to bed last night so excited to go
back to school and see everybody today. Yeah, and that's
just not happening for some of you, at least north.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Of Grand Rapids. And this is like his sixth day
off in a row. Basically, when you include the weekend,
you wish you went a schedule to vacation for this week.
I just afore this night.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
Actually, you know what, I'm really bummed about that we
didn't get sick right now. You know we're about to
get sick next week and miss even more school. I
wish that we got you know, our sickness out right now.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Don't do it it. Don't manifests out.

Speaker 4 (01:38):
Movies, music and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
It's the celebrities goop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 4 (01:46):
Well, it has to be quite a relief for Prince Harry,
who just struck a last minute settlement yesterday with Rupert
Murdoch's news Group Newspapers over accusations he was spied upon
by predatory tabloids in a law suit that's been going
on for quite a while. Harry's attorneys issued a statement
that both parties had reached a settlement just one day

(02:07):
after the trial was set to start, NGN releasing its
own statement acknowledging and apology apologizing for the distress cause
to the Duke and the damage inflicted on relationships, friendships,
and family, and have agreed to pay him substantial damages.
Now they did not give an exact sum, but in addition,

(02:27):
the media organization also expressed remorse for interfering in the
life of the late Princess Diana, who of course was
killed in that car crash back in ninety seven trying
to escape paparazzi. This is a win win for both sides.
It looks like this first lawsuit started for Prince Harry
back in twenty nineteen, so he has been battling these

(02:50):
guys for quite a while.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Remind me, SCHMIDI, is this the one that Elton John
is involved in as well?

Speaker 4 (02:54):
I don't know for Shuarp, I don't know for Sharp.
Michael Strahan, the NFL Hall of Famer, admits as a dad,
he was in an absolute state of panic after his
daughter Isabella was diagnosed with cancer, but her dedication to
defeating the disease really helped calm his nerves. He sat
down with both his daughters for an interview with People magazine,

(03:16):
really talking candidly for the first time about that moment.
He realized, oh, she's got this.

Speaker 5 (03:23):
One of the things that she said to me one time,
prior hardest thing I ever had to hear, was you know, Dad,
I'll do whatever I want to live. And I shocked me.
And usually I cry when I tell people that, but
I'm trying to hold them together for you. But yeah,
that was like a wow moment. But it was also
a reassuring moment because I know.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
She wouldn't quit. She was going to fight, and she did.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
She's such a proud dad in this. Isabella, of course,
has beaten the disease, but still has to get scans
to make sure the cancer hasn't returned, a process Michael
admits makes the family nervous each time, but Michael giving
an update, saying doctors are confident Isabella will be just
fine and thinks she'll be able to return to her
totally normal self very soon. I mean, remember, she's an

(04:06):
athlete who was going to school. I mean, this just
hit it such a tragic time.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
Such a scary thing for any parent to go through.
To see the strength of one of your children shining
through during that tough time like that, it's got to
be a really proud moment.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
And finally, one of the four Chilean men believed to
be connected to at least Bengals quarterback Joe Burrows home
Burglary was sporting a Bengals hat when they were pulled over,
which is what really tipped the cops off. So new
dash cam and bodycam footage has just been released from

(04:38):
the Ohio State Highway Patrol. This was a traffic stop
that went down back on January tenth because of an
improper lane change. The cops executed a search of the
vehicle found a designer bag, a suitcase with an LSU
shirt in it in the glove box window punchers were
also found. Now they are facing felony charges as well

(04:59):
as being invested for some of these other big celebrity
break ins. They do believe it's South American groups that
are behind these, but admit it was that Bengals hat
that looked especially like it could belong to Joe that
first gave it away. Come on, oh, how bad at
crime they have to be.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
Who didn't have South American gangs is the top suspect
on there.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
God, they have been investigating them for months thinking they're
coming up and doing these All of your celeb scoop
at West Michigan Star dot com.

Speaker 6 (05:30):
Sometimes because I get a good feeling.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Yeah, all right, let's brighten up this dark day, at
this moment in time, at least feeling good on starving
on five point see good morning to you. It's Mack
and Schmidty. And this really cool new restaurant coming to Uskegan,
said to open in March of this year, the Love Cafe.
What's cool about it? It's a new pay what you
can restaurant, really awesome how this year's operated by Love
Incorporated of Muskegon County, and the cafe is going to

(05:57):
offer guests three payment options, pay what they can even
if it's nothing, pay a typical restaurant price, or pay
extra to support others. You've heard of restaurants like this
around the country, and I love that we've got one
coming here to Miskegan. And alongside serving breakfast and launch,
the cafe is also going to include a job skills
training program led by chef Eric Concker arm He's helping

(06:20):
participants gain some kitchen skills and certifications for careers in
the hospitality industry, so not only going to be working
hard and providing a great service, but also obtaining some
of those skills. Now, Love Incorporated, long standing nonprofit over
in Miskegan, focuses on community support through initiatives like building
wheelchair ramps, operating resale shop, and mobilizing churches for outreach.

(06:41):
Mike Miller, he's the executive director of Love Incorporated there
at Mischigan County, and he talked about what his vision
is for this restaurant with wood TV.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
As guests come into our restaurant, they'll see that it's
a space that's for everybody, which is a very unusual
thing that it's a space for people in need, but
it's also a space for people with plenty. People should
be treated with respect, all people of all beliefs, all
people of every diversity that exists coming in and being

(07:11):
on an equal table.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
I love that. Again. It's a new pay which you
can restaurant, the Love Cafe Go and to open up
in March in downtown Miskegon.

Speaker 4 (07:18):
All Right, Detroit Lions fans, don't worry. The teams already
got their eye on some recruits, even if those recruits
are only five months old. Sydney Brost going viral over
her son Carson and the fact that the five month
old is already thirty three pounds not shocking. She used

(07:41):
the best kind of intro music to introduced Carson on
TikTok and guess what it did indeed grab the attention
of the Detroit Lions, with the official verified account just
commenting you have our attention. Sidney then posted a second

(08:03):
video yesterday with the Lions once again popping into the
comments and simply writing dips. She deals to the t show,
it is so cute. We have strangers come up to
us all the time and say, can I just squeeze
his legs? And no, I don't think we're feeding him
anything different from any other parents. He's just a thirty
three pound five month old and honestly, if he wants

(08:25):
to be scouted by the NFL, I'm all good with that.
You gotta see this for yourself. I have it on
our Instagram stories right now because you will not believe
how cute this chunker is at West.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
Michigan Star I mean Lions GM Brad Holmes. He's got
an eye for talent Smitty. He might be looking ahead
to the future.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
The twenty years once a week, feeling.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
Good, coming Atie a couple times a day. We'll do
it again, coming up at nine to twenty This morning
here on Star Mack and Schmidty's Feeling Good.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
Open your day with Positivity powered by Overhead Door Company
of Grand Rapids.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
On Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 4 (08:55):
Movies, Music and all the Gossip in one place.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
It's the Celebrities Goop. On Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 4 (09:02):
Actress Blake Lively and her after husband Ryan Reynolds have
just taken another step in the ongoing legal drama over
the It Ends with Us movie. They want a judge
to gag Justin Baldoni's lawyer, claiming he is making false
statements about the case. The Megastar is following a letter
in court asking the court to issue a protective order

(09:25):
to stop Baldoni's lawyers, led by Brian Friedman, from engaging
in what they're calling improper conduct, including going on an
alleged harassing and retaliatory media campaign against Blake and Ryan.
May say that he's violating court rules that stop a
lawyer from making statements to the press that are irrelevant

(09:45):
to a case and could prejudice the jury. Now, the
letter does specifically mention what I talked about yesterday, and
that release of ten minutes of unedited footage from the
filming of It ends with us. Even though Lively says
it completely corroborates her side of the story, Baldoni's team says,
this is exactly what we're talking about. None of what

(10:08):
Blake Lively has said happened actually happened. Sources connected to
Justin's team say they believe it is totally unfair to
impose a gag order after Justin's been defamed by The
New York Times in an article that they say has
cost him already three jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars,
the source adding it's unbelievable Blake would go on a

(10:31):
takedown campaign against Justin and then immediately turn around and
say she wants a gag order so that Justin can't
defend himself. This has gotten so nasty that as of yesterday,
author of these books, Colleen Hoover, who had a big
hand in the movie, completely deactivated her Instagram. Oh Scott
in nas name. Speaking of big lawsuits, Diddy is once

(10:54):
again launching a lawsuit, this time against a grand jury
witness as well as a lawyer he claims have been
spreading lies about him and fabricating stories for media attention.
Did he issuing Courtney Burgess, a man who appeared as
a witness for the grand jury, and Ariel Mitchell? This
is Burgess's lawyer, for spreading outlandish claims and baseless speculation

(11:17):
to feed the public's desire for wild lies. He says
things like no tape exists of him assaulting celebrities and miners.
He says these are recklessly false statements. He's also firing
back at Courtney's claim that did he receive Kim Porter's
memoir directly from her, saying those closest to Porter, like

(11:37):
her kids and her roommates even have never heard of
any of this happening. He's suing not just these two,
but News Nation as well. Fifty million bucks.

Speaker 1 (11:47):
Why not? I mean, at this point, your cornered animal,
who is basically literally trapped in a cage right now,
he's going to be flailing around filing any legal avenue
he thinks he can get into, all.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
Right, in post Malone getting into the dessert game, did
you see this. The singer is partnering with Oreo for
its next limited edition cookie, featuring a first of its
kind filling for the brand. This is going to be
out for a very limited time. Oreo selling a cookie
created with post that has a swirled cream filling that

(12:19):
mixes salted caramel and short bread flavored cream and then
sandwiched between a chocolate and golden cookie. The cookies are
then engraved with nine different designs done by Post Malone,
things like a vinyl record and a guitar pick. It's
the newest creation for this company. They're super excited with

(12:39):
this collaboration, hitting shelves February thirds.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
Honestly, I knock some of Oreo's weird flavors that they do.
That one sounds.

Speaker 4 (12:48):
Pretty good, it does. I hate that they do two
different cookies. Yeah, put it in the middle of two
chocolates or two vanillas. I don't want two different cookie flavors.
But I'll just slide into DMS for Post Malone. Let
him know my own personal feel on this. All of
your celeb scoop at West Michigan's Star dot com.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
Good morning to you. It's Mack and SCHMIDI and yeahm
or more kids off of school today. You can check
out that list at West Michigan start dot com. But
for the last several day, Schmitty, you've been entertaining them
with the things that may have entertained you when you
were a kid home at a snowdn.

Speaker 4 (13:17):
Isn't it crazy, especially talking to like the millennial crowd,
when we have things like Disney Plus and Paramount Plus
and all of those streaming services that have all of
the old school shows that we grew up with. So
after trying to, you know, do some reading and play
some games and be I turned screens on and I'm
just I'm not gonna lie about it. And I think

(13:37):
a lot of you finally gave into the screen time too,
if you've been at home for the last few days.
But I thought it'd be really fun to kind of
look back on some of the shows and movies I
used to watch. And one of my all time favorites
that I think just got put on Disney Plus, by
the way, was blank Check. I remember blank chesh. So
if you've never seen blank Check, this is the kid

(13:58):
that gets hit by a car and then the dude
writes him a blank check and he ends up cashing
it in for a million bucks, and I thought, my
kids are gonna love this, And then I realized I'm
watching with my six year old Will, and the year
Blank Check came out, I was six, so he's watching
it at the same age I was. And it's so

(14:19):
funny because remember the kid calls himself mister McIntosh. Yes,
and Will could not believe an Apple computer ever looked
like that. So I'm like, let's keep this going. And
last night we watched Brink because my incredible friend Austin
came into my DMS and was like, oh, if you're
watching old school Disney movies, you got to put on

(14:40):
brank you have to, which, by the way, really holds up.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
So I put it just makes me think of the
time that we all were rolling around on rollerblades too.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
We still are.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
No, you don't see how we are.

Speaker 4 (14:51):
Oh, my neighborhood kids are loving the blades. So I
put this up on our Facebook because I would love
to know the best throwback movie you've ever shown your
kids and you were like so excited because they loved it, Mara,
I'm putting this on my list. Johnny Tsunami was such
a good Disney Channel original movie Jungle to Jungle, one

(15:11):
of jtt's best works, and Stacy with Mighty Ducks and
Missus Doubtfire.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
Missus Doubtfire is a big favorite in my house. My
uh son runs around all the time going dude, no,
like cannot help himself from that movie.

Speaker 4 (15:28):
So much fun. And I've got to tell you, guys,
if you're able to find some of these really good
ones or the old school cartoons, like they were watching
Chipendale Rescue Rangers from like nineteen eighty six, they actually
love this stuff because it's so different than what's on
right now. And the list that we have going on
Facebook is so perfect. Willow. I know Tony showed his

(15:49):
kids Willow when they were young.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
Kids were so freaked out by Willow. I thought they
were gonna love Willow.

Speaker 4 (15:54):
You've ever seen Willis? I don't know how that one.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
It's very cool. Val Kilmer's in it, and I thought,
you know, this is a cool action. They were very
creeped out by Willow.

Speaker 4 (16:02):
So let us know what your best throwback movie is.
There's a ton of kids home from school again today
and honestly, I feel like they learn stuff with the
old movies. We shouldn't feel guilty about that screen.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
For example, will learned what a check was there?

Speaker 4 (16:16):
Six one six, four, one oh five seven, movies, music
and all the gossip in one place.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.

Speaker 4 (16:27):
Well, we'll see if this actually ends up being true.
But sources say that the Grammy twenty twenty five winners
list has been leaked ahead of that awards show, which
isn't supposed to go down until this weekend a few
weeks excuse me, it was moved now. According to these sources,
they say that Taylor Swift's Tortured Poets Department is actually

(16:48):
going to miss out on some pretty big awards, including
Album of the Year. They say that either Billie Eilish's
hit Me Hard and Soft or Beyonce's How Boy Carter
will be taking that home. They've also talked about other
Grammy categories that they think Sabrina Carpenter's Espresso could take

(17:09):
home Record of the Year, while Billie Eilish's Birds of
a Feather tipped for Song of the Year and Chapel
Roane takes Best New Artist. Like I said. These are
sources saying that they've seen a leaked list, so we'll
see if this ends up coming through. But remember Taylor
already saw that snub for Best Record Breaking Concert Film

(17:31):
where she wasn't even nominated.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
Which is a weird that she wouldn't be nominated in.

Speaker 4 (17:36):
That all we'll see. It'll be a big deal for
Beyonce if that happens, because I know a lot of
fans would be so excited to see that. Billy Cyrus
is really really concerning his family, and it's gotten to
the point where some of his kids as well as
his ex wife have taken to social media to talk
about how nervous they are. Remember Billy Ray had what

(17:57):
a lot of fans called a train wreck performance at
President Trump's inauguration, and now Trace Cyrus, member of Metro
Station Your remember this bop, has taken to Instagram, writing,
since my earliest memories, all I can remember is being
obsessed with you and thinking you were the coolest person ever.
I wanted to be just thank you. Sadly, the man

(18:17):
I wanted so desperately to be just like I barely
recognize now. He goes on to say, you could be
upset with me for posting this, but I could care
less at this point, me and the girls have been
genuinely worried about you for years, but you've pushed all
of us away. Noah, Miley's little sister desperately has wanted
you to be a part of her life, and you

(18:37):
haven't even been there for her at one moment. She's
her baby girl. She deserves better somehow, just like me,
she still idolizes you. We're hanging on to the memories
of the man we once knew and hoping for the
day he returns. Dad, you're not healthy and everyone is
noticing it.

Speaker 1 (18:55):
I mean, I thought you could have parsed that together
when he got married to a woman named fire Rose,
and then I had to have the whole thing and
Null did a matter of vibe.

Speaker 4 (19:04):
It's really sad, isn't it? Like these are your kids
begging you to get better. And Trace does have background
in this. He's over a year and a half clean
from alcohol, and he said, I get the struggles, but
you have got to seek some help where you are
going to lose everyone and we're most likely going to
lose you. Finally, the video that's gone viral, did you
see the Wheel of Fortune contested take out Ryan's Seacrest.

(19:27):
It all went down with Daniel Thomas solving that seven
letter word to win that Big Gram prize. Listen to
the moment he runs to hug Ryan guppies.

Speaker 6 (19:38):
Yes, I mean lazo flack on, ski over here, Daniel,
easy on our hose, but celebrate.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
Dollars, I mean.

Speaker 4 (19:59):
Good on, because he is knocked all the way to
the tailbone down, gets right back up though, really excited. Yeah,
that forty thousand dollars brought his total winning stumbles seventy
two thousand. For the record, you can knock me down
for that amount of money as well. I've got the
video with your scoop at West Michigan Star dot com.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
He's selling a five point seven let's throw down battle
of the sexiest time in your shot to get to
Monster jam back at Vanandelerina coming up March seven.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
Through the nine Schmitti, as one of my favorite coworkers,
likes to say, you'll pay for the whole seat, but
only use the edge. One hundred women surveyed name something
a baby throws out of their crib looking for that
number one answer.

Speaker 1 (20:43):
I'm totally stealing that line about monster.

Speaker 4 (20:45):
And that gut. It's really yeah, by the way, if
you were my kids themselves, their own human bodies, just
top sack of potatoes, catch me, yeah, terrifying on a
baby monitor six one, six, four, eight, one oh five seven,
one hundred women surveyed name something a baby throws out
of their crib. If you've got the number one answer,

(21:06):
you've got your monster jam tickets on Star every morning Star.

Speaker 1 (21:09):
Who's this? Hi?

Speaker 6 (21:10):
This is Selena.

Speaker 1 (21:11):
Selena, let's get you the monster jam. You gotta tell me.
When a hundred women were asked name something babies throw
out of the crib, what do you think? What are
your top answer? Was there? Selena, I'm thinking it's probably pacifiers.
You're going pacifier the binky game over and over and
over again. It's not a game to you, but it
clearly is to any toddler for sure. But the pacifier

(21:34):
is the number three most common answer. I'm sorry, thank you,
Hi Star. Who's this?

Speaker 2 (21:40):
Hi, Sue, Sue.

Speaker 1 (21:41):
I just got a great guest from Selena. When one
hundred women arrest to name something babies are always throwing
out of the crib, she said, But I was thinking,
which is the pacifier? But while that was close, it
was the number three most common answer. So, Sue, what
do you think it is? A stuffed animal throwing out
this stuffy Yeah, that one is not on this list somehow,

(22:01):
but we all know that that definitely happens. I'm sorry, Sue,
all right, thank you, Hi Star. Who's this?

Speaker 3 (22:07):
Tim?

Speaker 1 (22:08):
Tim, I've got a couple of good guesses, but not
the top answer when one hundred women were asked to
name something babies are always throwing out of the crib.
I have heard the pacifier, which was the number three
most common answer, and I just heard stuffed animals, which
should be on this list, but it is not. So Tim,
you got a shot in here. What do you think
it is? I'm gonna say the blanket. You're gonna go

(22:29):
the blankets. Every baby's got their special blanket, right, gotta
have that, and that's probably why it's the first thing
that they're constantly throwing out of their cribs. Blankets the top. Tim. Congratulations, right, Tim?
You and Dad, Well, then you've played that game a
few too many times. I'm sure we all have. Congratulations.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
Tim.

Speaker 1 (22:51):
You're gonna bring those kiddos over to Monster Jam, all right,
it's gonna be a great time. Rolling into Van Adelerena
March seventh through the ninth, and we're gonna have lots
of chances to be to win ticket. So be listening
here on Star eight fifteen every weekday Battle of the
Sexes Fishing Company. As you keep those hands at ten
and two. We know very difficult driving conditions out there

(23:13):
this morning. Schmidty and I actually got into an argument
about this yesterday. I can't believe we haven't talked about
it before, as we've vented about how people drive in
snowy conditions here constantly. But when there's snow on the
roads right like there has been the last several days,
it's mostly covered in snow, but the plows have been
working so hard and so they've got you know, like
one lane done or part of the lane done.

Speaker 4 (23:35):
So I'll say it's been the worst it's been in
a couple of years, the last couple of days. So
I think that's why not a lot of people have
talked about this possibly.

Speaker 1 (23:41):
But my question to you and Michigan drivers in general,
when there's snow on the roads, do you try and
stay between the lines or do you actually just drive
where they've plowed? Four?

Speaker 4 (23:51):
I am I am driving where they've plowed rest of
the day, staying between the lines.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
I mean, it's a balance, right, that's that's the correct answer.

Speaker 4 (23:58):
Other people are trying to do. And I've seen trucks
rolling up on people that are trying to follow the
plow lines, and then all of a sudden you realize
you're actually in two different lanes of traffic, and people
are laying on their horns, and then we're all stressed out.

Speaker 1 (24:12):
I appreciated this yesterday because I was riding with my wife,
actually Schmitty, and I thought of you, because I think
of you and my wife as both as very good
rule followers in general, if possible, you would like to
follow the rules at all times. H I was afraid
driving with her because I'm like, dude, you keep on
driving into the snowy parts. The plow is over here,

(24:34):
there's fresh concrete waiting for you to get traction, and
you're over here in your Nissan Sentra, just taking our
lives in your own hands because you're afraid to drive
a little bit into the other lane even though there's
no one around us.

Speaker 4 (24:45):
So that's another question I have though. Do you have
more traction on some packed snow versus potential black ice.

Speaker 1 (24:52):
I mean, you never know with black ice.

Speaker 4 (24:54):
I would love to hear if there's a police officer
listening right now, we're supposed to the plow drive than
ever because they, to me, are the experienced ones out there. Yeah,
what do we do?

Speaker 3 (25:04):
Like?

Speaker 4 (25:04):
What would be your best case scenario?

Speaker 1 (25:07):
A police officer's a great I DS Schmidty. I would
like to know whether or not you see somebody veering
in and out of lanes, but then you notice that
they're doing it based on the plow lines? Is that
a ticket six?

Speaker 4 (25:18):
One six four five, a one oh five seven. We're
going to enlighten everybody this morning.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
Sometime.

Speaker 4 (25:28):
Does that get a good feeling?

Speaker 2 (25:30):
Ye?

Speaker 1 (25:31):
Star Win on five point seven. Let's try and make
us all feel like the kids who found out they
had a stot date today? Shall we feeling good on
star Win on five point seven? What's happened? Mane?

Speaker 7 (25:39):
All right?

Speaker 4 (25:39):
I'm going to bring them up one more time, but
it's only because I want you all to know just
how close Ben Johnson and Dan Campbell really are. Ben's
been talking a lot about his heartfelt gratitude for the
Lions coach, even though he left the team to coach
over at the Bears. I thought this was just a
very poignant part of his press conference yesterday.

Speaker 7 (25:58):
Dan Campbell is more than just a colleague to me.
He is a friend, He is a mentor. He is
a man that trusted me when he didn't need to.
And I will forever be in his debt and respect
the heck out of him. He's an amazing person. One
time someone told me he is a unicorn, and they

(26:20):
could not be more true words than that.

Speaker 4 (26:23):
Okay, and then my bonus feeling good because whether you're
a Bears or Alliance fan, I think we can all
agree we hate the Packers.

Speaker 7 (26:32):
I've got tremendous amount of respect for the coaches and
the players in this league haven't competed against them for
the last six years. Dan Campbell, Kevin O'Connell, you're talking
about two guys that are up for Coach of the
Year awards as the season ends here. And to be
quite frank with you, I kind of enjoyed beating Matt

(26:54):
Laford twice a year that Lafloor.

Speaker 4 (26:57):
Of the Packers coach. That's right, Ben coming in to
talk some trash in at NFC, and I'm sorry it
made me feel pretty good.

Speaker 1 (27:04):
I do like that. And you know, I think talking trashy.
You might have learned a little bit of that from
Dan Kemp. Yeah, very cool, all right, Sweddy. Real scary
house fire and Grand Rapids just early yesterday morning, as
Grand Rapids Fire Department responded to a call that began
around four a m. Where a family Josh Gerbach is
his name, with his girlfriend, his kids, his mom, and

(27:25):
his aunts were awoke in that early morning to the
sound of fire alarms, thankfully, but unfortunately for them, they
could not get downstairs, and so as Josh described this
to thirteen on your Side, he explained how they had
to go out the window. But thankfully that's where his
neighbors were standing, not just to lend the helping hand,

(27:46):
but literally to catch his children.

Speaker 8 (27:49):
So we're like, we gotta go now. The only way
out is on the window. So we dropped my eldest. First,
he caught her faultless football catch dude could be in
the All Stars or something. And then my youngest we
kinda we didn't want to throw her. I didn't want
to move around that much. We like slid her down
the roof and then she got caught seeing the inside
of the house. I've seeing that we got out when

(28:09):
we did. I'm so thankful or else. Honestly, I don't
think anyone that was in that room that we escaped
from would be alive. But I'm just thankful to be alive.

Speaker 1 (28:19):
Yeah, you can hear how emotional he was and how
thankful he was to have those neighbors called him in
all stars had been playing in the big leagues with
catches like that, because those were his children. Everybody making
it out safely except for his mom, Dawn, who was
rescued from the roof by firefighters received CPR. She is
in critical condition, but as Josh described her as a fighter,

(28:41):
he's confident that she's going to be okay.

Speaker 4 (28:43):
Plus, the heroes of the GRFD, they talked with them
with with TV, and boy oh boy, did they really
jump into action.

Speaker 1 (28:48):
So a big thank you, of course to the Grand
Rapids Fire Department and for those loving neighbors to be
there when their neighbors really truly needed their life saving help.
Feeling good, Kevin atch a couple times a day. Let's
do it again tomorrow six forty five and nine twenty
on Star

Speaker 3 (29:02):
Mack and Schmidty in the morning weekday, starting at six
am on Star one oh five point seven
