kids grabbing at either side of me. So very kind,
But no, don't expect anything flashy.
Speaker 6 (01:45):
This evening movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 4 (01:54):
Well, I know it was shocking to Bachelor fans just
a couple of weeks ago when Matt James announced him
and Rachel Kirconnell had officially called it quits, ending their
four year relationship during a trip to Tokyo earlier this month.
We're now hearing Rachel's side of things. She admits it
was definitely out of nowhere. He said, at the end
(02:15):
of the day, there were just qualities about me that
he worries about having a wife. She's on the latest
episode of Call Her Daddy. This just dropped last night,
saying that Matt claimed there were just things we weren't
compatible with. One of those things that he pointed out
she had trouble with was taking accountability for her mistakes.
Speaker 7 (02:33):
I have a hard time like admitting I'm wrong or
taking accountability. And so when your partner is telling you
those things, like you want to believe them. You want
to be like, Okay, if this really is like a
problem I have and something that you're really upset about,
then of course, like I want to try to do
what I can to fix that. But yeah, it's I
(02:57):
don't know. I don't know if I'll ever know.
Speaker 5 (02:59):
She said.
Speaker 4 (02:59):
No matter what she tried, it just didn't seem to
work for Matt. And then Rachel admits she had her
realization I should want to propose to you by this time,
like at this point in our relationship, I should be
wanting those things. I should be ready for that, and
I'm still not. I don't feel like we're ready. I
don't feel like I'm ready, and I don't know if
I ever see myself proposing to you. I cannot actually
(03:21):
see myself married to you. She claims that James told
her she just was not his perfect person, and when
she says blindsided, she means blindsided. She actually got on
her plane to leave Tokyo and that's when she received
a notification about James's breakup post she said she had
(03:41):
no one to talk to. She just had to sit
through the twelve hour flight, knowing she was coming home
to an absolute media store.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
Ooh wow, rough, you know, I think that's really interesting
that a person who went on a show where you're
expected to basically be ready to get engaged after just
a few weeks, four years down the line, they're like, no,
we're still all right.
Speaker 4 (04:01):
Rihanna is supposedly going to be in court today throwing
her full support behind baby Daddy asap Rocky. So if
you are not aware of this, big legal thing going
on here. So Asap apparently got into a big argument
back in twenty twenty one with his now former friend
A sap Relly.
Speaker 5 (04:21):
He actually shot the guy and is.
Speaker 4 (04:24):
On trial with two felony charges of assault with a firearm.
There had been a lot of rumor about whether Rihanna
would be showing up for this at all. She's already
been a part of the trial. When it came to
jury selection, they were actually asking potential jurors, are you
a fan of Rihanna? Have you ever bought any of
her fentie merchandise? And prosecutors believe that this could be
(04:45):
very tough because seeing Rihanna in the courtroom, which she
would be in today, could still have an effect on
the jurors, even though technically it's not supposed to. As
of this morning, we're being told that she will be
showing up today.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
She has an effect Eddy rube Wi.
Speaker 5 (05:01):
Exactly.
Speaker 4 (05:02):
Finally, Lady Gaga not backing down from her crusade for
the LGBTQ plus community, as members are very nervous about
what they might see in life change under President Donald Trump.
She's a new interview with Elle magazine saying we are
not going down without a fight. We're going to stick together.
It's going to be hard, but I'm up for it.
(05:23):
We're up for it.
Speaker 5 (05:24):
She says.
Speaker 4 (05:24):
She plans to support her community in small but impactful ways,
reaching out to loved ones who may feel threatened about
their future, and being generally available. Seeing while she is devastated,
what does it mean for me versus someone else? And
I realized that grassroots efforts just as important as using
my celebrity to preach to people and try and.
Speaker 5 (05:45):
Change her mind.
Speaker 4 (05:46):
So this is also I guess a lot of rumor
about what we will also hear on that new album
coming out in March, Mayhem that I told you about yesterday.
All of your celeb scoot but West Michigan Star docker.
Speaker 8 (06:00):
Down because I get a good by Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
Just having a five point seven. It's back in Schmidty,
always looking to get your day off to a great start.
It's feeling good right now, and Schmidty obviously Michigan known
for its amazing beers, West Michigan Grand Rapids Beer City.
Of course, we just said Oberon Day coming up in March.
They made that an twenty fourth, twenty fourth. It is
back and we are known not only for our beers now,
(06:26):
but our beer gardens.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
This is really cool.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
I just wanted to give a shout out real quick
to two Michigan beer gardens that have made USA Today's
ten Best Beer Gardens list. Now here's the thing. They're
down to twenty names, twenty beer gardens across the country.
Only one from Michigan made it last year, and that
was actually hop Lot Brewing Company in Sutton's Bay.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
There.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
They actually were the number two beer garden in all
of the good old US of A yesterday. Definitely a
favorite up north there, but this year move over because
about two hundred and fifty miles south there, but not
too far from here, just south of Saint Joseph, Watermark
Brewing Company just entered the competition. This beer garden sits
in Stevensville downtown, just about three miles from Lake Michigan,
(07:13):
big barnwood building, covered patio, outdoor games, one sweet looking
beer garden, but both of them on this list.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
Now.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
Voting is going to go until February twenty fourth, over
at ten Best dot USA today dot com. But this
made me feel good, SHMIDDI, because I have been to
neither of these places and I tell you right now,
I love a good beer garden and can't wait to
go check them out.
Speaker 4 (07:33):
You might not have to have they got those heaters
out there. I'll sit on a patio in the dead
o winter. Whoever is interested in having me, all right,
this just shows the power of us women. Seven days, ladies.
Seven days after giving birth to her first child, Tennessee
women's basketball coach Kim Caldwell was back on the sidelines
(07:54):
coaching her volunteers against a huge matchup against South Carolina.
This went down Monday night, Caldwell receiving a standing ovation
as she walked into Food City Center.
Speaker 8 (08:06):
JAF Caldwell got a standing ovation when she entered the building.
Returning one week after giving birth to her birth child.
One week later, Kim, who had the flu which she
gave birth last Monday, is back on the sidelines coaching Tennessee.
Speaker 4 (08:22):
It's so incredible. Gave birth to a healthy baby, boy Connor.
In the press conference after the game, she admits the
standing ovation was too much.
Speaker 9 (08:32):
I tried to sneak in. It's why I sneaking back.
I always try to go unnoticed. But it made it
worth it. It made coming back with it as nicely back.
Speaker 4 (08:41):
And of course South Carolina with the win, but even
SC coach Don Staley was so inspired.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
Women have the strength of ten men.
Speaker 4 (08:50):
Amen to that, sister, and as coach Caldwell said, her
team gives her so much, she only can give it back.
Speaker 9 (08:57):
Adrenaline was going, I love this team. I asked a
lot from them, so I'm going to give them everything I.
Speaker 4 (09:02):
Have, and she did seven days after giving birth and
she is back on that head coaching sideline.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
I love it very cool, feeling good.
Speaker 3 (09:09):
Always here to highlight people doing incredible things out there,
things to put a smile on your face and take
me the end of the rest.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
Of your day. We'll do it again. Come it up
this morning at.
Speaker 6 (09:16):
Nine's one, Movies, music and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
It's the celebritiescoop on Star one oh five point.
Speaker 5 (09:24):
Seven, Man oh Man.
Speaker 4 (09:26):
The Dirty Laundry continues to get aired between both of
these lawsuits from Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni over the
filming of It ends with us and now we've got
the what some are calling flirty text messages that at
its base show the two had a super great relationship
before fix Things took a turn for the worst. So
(09:46):
because of these lawsuits, they have just dropped some text
messages between the pair. For example, Justin texting Blake and
saying well played, Blake responding, I feel the same. It
is such a good feeling to get worked done that
we're proud of and to do it together. It just
clicks when we find it, and that's just as rewarding
as filming, editing, marketing and releasing it. This is why
(10:10):
we do it, Blake then saying thank you for your collaboration.
I'm really proud of what we're doing with Justin saying, oh,
I really like sentimental Blake. This is just the start
of what our pages and pages of these text messages
between the two, which once again, depending on who you
speak to, is corroborating both of their arguments. Of course,
(10:32):
Baldoni saying that any harassment on set is just not
the case. He has proved them. You'll remember he is
in the middle that four hundred million dollar lawsuit and
by the way, a big development on that as a
New York judge has officially set a trial date of
March ninth, twenty twenty six, and moved an initial conference
(10:54):
that was supposed to happen in mid February to next week.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
I mean, I'm not a lawyer. I only like to
play one on the radio from time to time. Schmiddy.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
But it seems like it's going to be really hard
for a jury or a judge to figure out what's
real and what's performative in this whole thing, because I
feel like both of them have ammunition and evidence that
prove things one way or another, and it's just going
to be he said, She said.
Speaker 5 (11:18):
I think there's just so much to go through I
think that's going.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
To be the big issue, these documents, from emails to
voice memos to texts.
Speaker 5 (11:25):
There is so much to go through here for both sides.
Speaker 4 (11:29):
Sam Asgari, Britney Spears's ex, is getting very honest about
what he calls the culture shock he faced during their
seven year relationship. So he actually joined the Sibling Revelry
podcast This is the Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson Pod
in the latest episode, talking about his romance with the
Grammy winner really opening his eyes to the inner workings
(11:52):
of Hollywood. You remember they met on the music video
set of her twenty sixteen song Slumber Party.
Speaker 10 (12:00):
There's seven years worth of relationship that comes from the
music video and a marriage and a lot of experiences
and a lot of experiences which I like to call
it a crash course in Hollywood, which was which was great,
(12:20):
and everything was going really well until one day I
started learning about what the conservatorship is and things like that,
and that's what I was like, Wait a minute, when
you meet someone over the age of eighteen needs permission
from their parents and all this ridiculous thing. And that
was by far, that was the weirdest thing to deal with.
Speaker 4 (12:42):
Yeah, of course, talking about that conservatorship towards the end
of their relationship, and Sam's manager is already trying to
squash any talk of beef, releasing a statement yesterday that said,
this is not a dig at all at Brittany. It
is just a curve in life he had to navigate
that prepares you for the future, which is what he's
talking about here.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
It would feel weird, dad to get a permission slip
to date anybody, god.
Speaker 5 (13:04):
Right, especially after eighteen.
Speaker 4 (13:05):
Finally, Bruno Mars making a reference to a gambling rumor
that we have heard about for months now. He just
reposted an announcement from a big streaming service that he
is the first ever performer to garner a monthly total
of at least one hundred and fifty million listeners, writing
(13:27):
keep streaming, I'll be out of debt in no time.
Of course, didn't go anything further, but as you heard,
probably like a fifty million dollar piece of debt at
one point.
Speaker 5 (13:38):
He has slated for some additional.
Speaker 4 (13:40):
Shows in Vegas as well, just announcing seven new shows
in May going till June.
Speaker 5 (13:47):
Second, if you want to check him out in that residency.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
I mean, he's been on fire lately too. He's had
a bunch of hits. He had the APT song that
was Big Die with a smile, helping the.
Speaker 4 (13:57):
Grammys with Gaga. Yeah, all over all of your celeb
scoop at West Michigan's.
Speaker 5 (14:01):
Star dot Com.
Speaker 1 (14:03):
Good on in to you. It's back and Schmidian.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
Perhaps you're driving in and around right now that vehicle
that you have dubbed a certain.
Speaker 4 (14:10):
Name, Well, yeah, you have to name your cars. I
stand by this. I've got sues my boo. I drive
a super her name is sus and that's the only
reason that she is going on fifteen years on the road.
You name your car, you just get more life out
of it. So I'm talking to a coworker on another
one of my shows yesterday and his daughter is turning
(14:31):
sixteen in a few months, so she's got her learner's
permit right now and then she'll be getting her license
and she's getting one of the family cars cool, and
he overheard her talking to a bunch of her friends
about what she should name her car. It was like
an hour's long conversation, and she's like, you know, this
is really important. This is what my car's name is
going to be. And he's like, I have never named
(14:54):
my car. And I'm like really, and.
Speaker 6 (14:57):
He said no.
Speaker 5 (14:58):
And then my other co was like, yeah, I can't
say that I have.
Speaker 4 (15:03):
I went I have named every single car that I've
ever had, And I guess I feel like it's a
guy versus girl thing.
Speaker 1 (15:11):
Maybe I know a few guys that did that do
this too well.
Speaker 4 (15:14):
I'm looking at our Facebook comments and it's half and
half like, you guys have some incredible names for your cars,
and I thought it would be so fun to ask
what do you drive and what did you name it?
Speaker 5 (15:24):
Because I do.
Speaker 4 (15:25):
I'm a firm believer it gets you through traffic better,
like all of that white knuckle driving in those storms
last week. I just felt so much better being able
to grip my wheel and go, okay, sus, we're only.
Speaker 5 (15:36):
Two exits away, girl, two exits away, and we're safely
to work.
Speaker 3 (15:41):
So my very first car, and I mean I had this,
I only had this car for a couple of months,
and it was basically like, hey, drive this around until
my other car was out of the shot that I
was giddying. It had a hole rusted all the way
to the floor, like we kept the mat over at SCHMITTI.
But if you remove the mat there was a quarter
size hole you could.
Speaker 5 (16:00):
The red flintstone and if you wanted to, well.
Speaker 3 (16:03):
We called it was a brown vehicle, so it was
Barney Rubble.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
That's that.
Speaker 4 (16:09):
I really love some of these. Tina is red hot.
She's a Chevy Silverado. Calvin's got a black Chevy Silverado
we named Diamondback. Whoo, a black Ford fusion named Fabio.
Speaker 5 (16:26):
That might be one of my favorites.
Speaker 3 (16:27):
I like to Missy. I've got a red Tesla model.
Why her name is Tilly.
Speaker 4 (16:31):
I'll tell you a Tesla and you can probably have
Tilly tell you her name. If you're driving a Tesla,
there's some crazy features on that car. By far, Laura
my fave. I have a jeep Cheerokey. Her name is
simply jeep jeep butt. You have to say it like
the Roadrunner.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
Oh definitely to any other way.
Speaker 4 (16:48):
What do you drive? And what is your car's name?
Or are you somebody that doesn't get this? You're like,
I have never named a car in my life. This
is the silliest thing ever. Four five eight, one oh
five seven or leave us your car's name on our
talk back.
Speaker 5 (17:02):
I want to see some good ones.
Speaker 3 (17:03):
I mean, I feel like it's almost like your fantasy
football team name, right, Like you gotta think of something
clever that you're going to be happy to share with
people any time.
Speaker 4 (17:10):
Well, we're talking fantasy football clever, but not inappropriate, because
most of us are driving our children around in these cars,
and that's the last thing I need them repeating after
we're stuck in traffic.
Speaker 3 (17:19):
Probably true start one point seven. It's Mack and Schmitty Wednesday.
We do our best to make you feel better as
parents by owning our own.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
Schmitty.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
You remember me telling you a couple of weeks back.
Now two and a half weeks.
Speaker 4 (17:35):
I don't know you said disposal of bodies, and I
want to be able to plead the fifth here.
Speaker 3 (17:39):
Well, the good news is is that they're hamster bodies.
They're road in bodies. Two and a half weeks ago,
my lovely hamsters, Ghost and Buster passed away within the
same twelve hour period, And for all intents and purposes,
we're going to go ahead and say they passed away
due to old age, lovely pain free and went together
(18:00):
because they were such good friends.
Speaker 5 (18:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
Right, that's how we're going to do this.
Speaker 3 (18:04):
However, since then, we have had some wild weather, and
for that first week, the hamsters remained in a box
that was set for a burial that was going to
happen once the snow stopped coming down like crazy.
Speaker 1 (18:18):
Well, if then we got.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
Into that cold snap, and then I'm gonna stop making excuses,
because after that we just kind of forgot that these
two low guys were sitting out in the colds in
a box. At first they were in the garage, but
then I was worried that they were going to smell,
and that was part of the problem. Is so I
put them in this box outside all the way in
(18:40):
our back porch, and thankfully, maybe thankfully, the circle of
life has not happened all right, nothing has come to
grab them. Okay, but here's where we lie now, and
this could backfire spectacularly if my kids find out about
this at school today. They stopped asking about them after
about a week and a half.
Speaker 1 (18:58):
Now.
Speaker 3 (18:58):
The ground is frozen. We had that nasty cold snap
right there, So we're thinking, schmiddy that we might be
able to get away with these two hamsters just uh,
pulling a marry, pulling on Jesus and just ascending to heaven,
full body, full body, full spirit, okay, the full body,
and just disappearing and hoping that our kids just never
break these hamsters up again. What do you think the
(19:20):
odds of that happening are, Because they haven't said anything
in about a solid week now, absolute word, not a
word about these hamsters in a week.
Speaker 5 (19:27):
I'm gonna give you June fifteenth, they're gonna go.
Speaker 4 (19:30):
This is a gorgeous day for us to finally bury
our most prized pets of all time. The ground is beautiful,
the flowers have come up, and that's when you're gonna go.
So remember that thing about heavens.
Speaker 6 (19:50):
Movies, music, and all the gossip in one place.
Speaker 1 (19:53):
It's the celebrity scoop. On Star one oh five point seven.
Speaker 4 (19:58):
Actor Anthony Mackie says he is proud to be an
American and was simply speaking about what he believes Captain
America embodies. So he is the new Captain America. The
big movie is dropping in February. It'll be his first
time taking over from Chris Evans, and he was in
Rome yesterday doing some promotion for the movie. When he
(20:19):
was I'm sure trying to say this is more about
morals than patriotism, but getting a ton of backlash for me.
Speaker 11 (20:26):
Captain America represents a lot of different things, and I
don't think the term, you know, America should be one
of those representations. Like it's about a man who keeps
his word, who has honored dignity and integrity, someone who
is trustworthy and dependable. This is kind of like an
(20:48):
aspect of a dream coming true. You know when I
was a kid. You know, all of us as actors,
I believe want to get back to that day before
someone told you no.
Speaker 1 (20:59):
So oh.
Speaker 4 (21:00):
Some of the commentary includes one user writing, geez, I've
never watched one of these superhero movies, but this imbecile
saying Captain America shouldn't represent America, he should never work
in acting again. It got to the point where Mackie
had to make a statement on his Instagram late last night, writing,
(21:20):
let me be clear about this, I'm a proud American
and taking on the shield of a hero like CAP
is the honor of a lifetime. I have the utmost
respect for those who serve and have served our country.
CAP has universal characteristics that people all over the world
can relate to.
Speaker 3 (21:37):
I mean, let's be fair. Comic book girds are like
swifties in the sense that they hang on every single word,
and any time that they can take something and turn
it into something else, you're going to have that happen.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
On the Internet.
Speaker 4 (21:48):
So this is Captain America brave new world that will
be out in a couple of weeks. Lady Gaga is
getting very personal about the dark side of her fame.
In a new interview with Elle magazine, she talks about
having to self medicate, saying working herself to the bone
early in her career came at a very serious price,
(22:10):
telling Elle, I used to drink a lot, smoke a lot.
I was always looking for an out. I used to
call it the trap door. I'd be like, I need
an escape route. And I finally stopped doing that. I
actually started feeling it started being present.
Speaker 5 (22:27):
She says.
Speaker 4 (22:27):
I sometimes worry people will say I'm boring, but these days, honestly,
thank god, I'm boring. I was living on the edge
and I did not know what was going to happen
to me, and I'm truly grateful to just be here.
She also once again tells fans, if you liked the
og pop feel of Gaga, that is what you're going
to hear on that new album Mayhew, which comes out
(22:47):
March seventh.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
I mean, that was the Gaga that just blew up
right that we were really introduced to Lady Gaga, and
then all of a sudden she had like ten songs.
Speaker 1 (22:55):
That were everywhere.
Speaker 4 (22:56):
Finally, fans are a bit divide over this video Martha
Stewart released yesterday. It is supposed to be an ad
for mac Cosmetics, a new partnership that she is working with,
but most are calling it a thirst trap video.
Speaker 12 (23:13):
Take a listen, Hi, I'm Martha Stewart. What gets me
in the nude? How about a strawberry fresh picked from
the garden, best in the hot sun, honey, golden amber. Mmm,
makes a mess.
Speaker 1 (23:31):
I'm uncomfortable.
Speaker 4 (23:32):
I'm a hey, yes, I'm Mauri And people are like, ah,
Martha just teaches how to make reads, but good on her.
Speaker 5 (23:41):
It has got.
Speaker 4 (23:42):
Millions of views, with one person writing, oh wow, is
this Martha's homemade OnlyFans?
Speaker 5 (23:48):
I mean it's it's.
Speaker 3 (23:50):
Us waiting for Snoop Dogg to weigh in and be like, yo, Martha,
take it down just a little bits.
Speaker 5 (23:55):

Family to head to De Boss Place with today's number
one answer with Battle of the Sexes. Your question one
hundred men surveyed names something kids eat that they're not
supposed to?
Speaker 3 (24:30):
All right, JAMINNI I want people, I'm gonna give a
hint here, think kids like, I don't know, second grade
or younger when you're thinking about these answers, because it's
not one of the top five answers, but Plato is
on this list. And if you're a parent who has
never looked at some you know, Plato fries and thought
to yourself, mans kind of look pretty tasty.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
Oh no, kind of into him.
Speaker 5 (24:48):
I'll be honest.
Speaker 4 (24:49):
I knew a kid that ate Crans and he's a
CEO now, so you might rethink what you're allowing them
to put in their mouth. Six one, six, four, five, eight,
one oh five seven. One hundred men surveyed Name something
kids eat that they're not supposed to. You get that
number one answer, We'll see you at the Michigan International
Auto Show, kicking off tomorrow at to Oostplace.
Speaker 1 (25:10):
Good morning star. Who's this, Amanda?
Speaker 3 (25:13):
Where are you calling from today?
Speaker 1 (25:16):
All right? Mand?
Speaker 3 (25:18):
A hundred of women were asked to name something that
kids eat that they're definitely not supposed to.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
What do you think that top answer is, Amanda?
Speaker 3 (25:27):
Yeah, Candy it's amazing how fast their little greedy hands
will shove candy in their mouths. But now that's not
the top answer. I'm sorry, thank you, Hi star.
Speaker 1 (25:37):
Who's this yesterday morning?
Speaker 11 (25:39):
My name is Joe.
Speaker 1 (25:41):
Joe.
Speaker 3 (25:41):
I just got a great guess. One hundred women were
asked to name something that kids eats that they're definitely
not supposed to be eating, and I just got the
guess of candy, which, of course, you know, other kid's
gonna want to score some sneak some candy in there too.
But that was only the number five most common answers.
So what do you think it is?
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Joe? I would go with bug. You're going with bugs.
Speaker 3 (26:02):
I don't know what it is about, you know, like
a lady bug that looks so appetizing when you're a toddler,
but I know every kid just tries to shove things
in their mouth.
Speaker 1 (26:13):
Bugs is the top answer, and go to it was bugs.
Speaker 3 (26:18):
Slash dirt actually is the top answer, and then glue,
followed by snot and krans as Schmidty's friend the CEO
once did, and then candy.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
Routing out those top five answers.
Speaker 3 (26:29):
Way to go, Joe, You're going to the Big Michigan
International Auto Show.
Speaker 1 (26:33):
Oh, thank you so very much.
Speaker 3 (26:34):
You are so very welcome, and we'll give another chance
to win tomorrow eight fifteen Battle of the Sexes here
on start. Thanks for hanging with us, son your Wednesday morning.
It's Mack and Schmidty. And you know, happens at different times,
and people handle aging in varying degrees. But I think
at some point something comes out of the blue that
(26:55):
just bothers you a bit that you're like, man, I
didn't think this was our right happening to me. And
I went in for a haircut with my stylist on
Monday and she's only at her like mid to late twenties,
I want to say, twenty seven, twenty eight. Her name
is Emily. She actually just opened up the blend over
on Fulton Street just west of Market there. Congrats to her.
(27:17):
She's amazing. She's also this you know, gorgeous young woman
who is prime of your life, you know, your late twenties.
Speaker 1 (27:24):
That was like my favorite time of life.
Speaker 13 (27:25):
Phatologists are always stunning. It's just the rule, ye know,
what's going on there. And we just got into this
conversation about like getting older a little bit and what
that looks like. And she told me it was because
we were talking about hairs, and I said, I have
the stragglers and my eyebrows. Then she goes, oh, yeah,
my boyfriend calls those the old man hairs when he
(27:47):
gets those wild ones that just come out of nowhere
and spike out, And I go yeah. And I occasionally,
even after I've shaved, we'll find like a three inch
hair that somehow sprouted up overnight and amazingly grew as
long as it did, just pops up on there, and.
Speaker 1 (28:01):
She goes, oh, I have to tell you this.
Speaker 3 (28:03):
She goes, I got my first chin hair. She goes,
my mom gets them, and she goes, I've never had
one in my life. And all of a sudden, I
woke up one morning and I swear to God, this
thing was like an inch long and just sitting out there, like,
all of a sudden, I turned into a witch with
warts on my nose and hairs on my chins overnight,
(28:24):
She goes, John, I bawled for an hour afterwards, the mirror,
just staring and pulling on this one streaking chin hair
that was poking out right there, And honestly, I could
see how that would bother me.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
That would be bad.
Speaker 4 (28:37):
You know, I'd feel a little worse for her, But
I guarantee her next statement with something like I can't
believe I'm about to be thirty, And then she would
have lost.
Speaker 3 (28:46):
All of my sympathy one thousand percent. Was there one
that bothered you more than anything else?
Speaker 5 (28:51):
And then I haven't hit that yet.
Speaker 3 (28:53):
See my gray hairs, My gray hair has never bothered me.
It was hair in my ear that would become noice like.
If then that happens, I'm sorry. But there's nothing about
that that you turn to yourself and are like, oh,
I'm aging gracefully.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
No, you're not, dude.
Speaker 5 (29:07):
You gotta go get that taken care of immediately.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
Are you kidding?
Speaker 3 (29:11):
It's the first time I ever thought like, hey, let's
put scissors inside your ear. That seems like a good idea.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
Some down, does I get a good feeling.
Speaker 3 (29:23):
On any day, whether you wake up on the wrong
side of the bet or not. We are here to
lift those spirits. Feeling good right now and stepping a
five point seven, it's backa schmitty.
Speaker 4 (29:31):
Okay, this is gonna be so exciting for the regulars.
A small town bar in Monroe County that's just south
of Detroit, is about to find itself in the national
spotlight after making an appearance in a Super Bowl commercial
set to air next weekend. The village has less than
(29:51):
three thousand people, but everyone knows about the Carlton Hotel Bar.
It's right in downtown Carlton.
Speaker 5 (30:00):
Haven't heard of it.
Speaker 4 (30:01):
Well, it's a quaint little spot and they were picked
to have a sweeping scape of their gorgeous business as
part of a Budweiser commercial for this year's Super Bowl.
Speaker 5 (30:13):
This is so cool. All the bars across the country
and you pick Carlton.
Speaker 4 (30:19):
Sean Malheron tells XYZ he's one of the regulars that
is really excited to see this. Chip Rain said, wow,
we just looked at this like, oh my gosh, that's
the Hotel Bar.
Speaker 5 (30:29):
There's a lot of pride here.
Speaker 4 (30:30):
And owner John kas Merrick said it was really all chance.
Speaker 8 (30:35):
I wish there was more too.
Speaker 12 (30:36):
It was just by Chads.
Speaker 14 (30:37):
My bud rep was here today and he goes, you know,
me alone have eighty accounts. Think of how many accounts
there are in the United States. How did they pick
this for them to say? You know, congratulations couldn't have
been to better people. There's no better thing in the world.
There really isn't.
Speaker 4 (30:53):
He's on the bar for more than twenty years. People
say it's the cheers of Monroe County. You walk in,
everybody knows your name, and we're just so excited to
have our little piece of Americana make it on the
Super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (31:08):
Well, at least something to the trail, yself full smitty,
I'll take it. David Fish here. He's a professional jump
roper Schmitty. As a matter of fact, he owns three
Guinness World Records for jumping rope while sitting down, and
his skills have taken him all over the world, to
which he's also used to write his own children's books
about a jump roping hero as a matter of fact.
(31:30):
But that's what he is now because it was earlier
this week that he got recognized for Back in December,
he spotted a boy who had fallen through the ice
while chasing his dog and that's when his double Dutch
jump rope stepped in to save the day. This is
him describing the scene to WRTV at Indiana.
Speaker 15 (31:50):
The boy went in to try and save his dog,
and then he's treading water in the middle of the
ice Bahn, screaming, you know, I'm gonna drown, I'm gonna drown.
I just instinctively went right from my bag of jump
ropes and pulled out, you know, the double Dutch ropes.
I headed out on the ice pod, and as I
start to go out there, I can hear the ice
(32:12):
cracking underneath my feet. So I finally do arrive where
I think I need to be. I sling the rope
to him and he grabs one handle, and bit by
bit we pulled him out of the ice.
Speaker 1 (32:23):
Pot double Dutch for the wind Schmitty his.
Speaker 3 (32:26):
By the way, his jump rope character, his hero there
is known as the rope Warrior, which is kind of
a fitty nickname for David.
Speaker 1 (32:35):
Now I feel like as well.
Speaker 3 (32:36):
He is honored just this past Monday in a big
ceremony at city Hall for his heroic efforts. But who'd
have thought that'd be the professional jump roper was going
to lead you to save somebodyw some quick thinking, unbelievable
feeling good coming at you. A couple times a day.
I always want to share something else going on out there.
Speaker 1 (32:51):
We'll do it tomorrow. Six forty five and nine twenty
Speaker 2 (32:54):
Mack and Schmidty in the morning weekday, starting at six
am on Star one oh five point seven
